Side by Side Comparison of: Ispeed vs Speedo

For those who want to show off their thigh muscles, but don't have enough to warrant wearing a speedo.

Super comfortable, doesn't feel restrictive in places. Having both elastic waist band and a draw cord allows you to not have to tie it that tightly, yet feel secure.

I love these. I have for years used board style swim shorts. They are big, bulky and slow to dry. I travel quite a bit to scuba and snorkel. These are great for that. They pack into a very small package. They have very little drag while swimming/snorkeling/scuba. They dry amazingly fast. These are a great alternative to the IMHO too small speedo type suit and the TOO bulky board shorts.

I love these; I have at least 5 pair. I keep them in the car, gym bag and at home so there's always a pair ready to go when I need them. I wear them to the gym to work out, then shower and hop in the pool, then rinse them in the gym shower and spin dry for the next day. I've yet to wear out my first pair (3 years old), and I treat them kind-of rough during the workouts. The short-short length and quick drying are what I like the most about these (and the cheap price). Buy off season. Watch for sales. Only complaint - I wish they had pockets.

Excellent trunks for the lap swimmer. The material was thicker and the waist was more sturdy than older Speedo swim trunks I've owned. These should hold up well for a long, long time. The gray color was more attractive on the actual trunks than in the picture. I have nothing to complain about.

I'm puzzled as to why Amazon uses such a poor photo of these shorts, obscuring the stitched-in (as opposed to the cheap silk-screen logos that come off after a few washes) "Speedo" logo and mini-stripe on the side. The shorts in the photo look utterly generic...is Amazon deliberately trying NOT to sell too many of these shorts or something? I've attached a photo of the actual product...with those two decorative features, it looks far better than the photo.

Fit is good, although they are not quite as snug to the body as in the photo...but this is a typical American cut, no big surprise there. I have a 28-29" waist and ordered the small, which fit pretty well, plenty of room even for my weightlifter's thighs.

More importantly, the length is entirely reasonable...I'd guesstimate a 3 to 4" inseam which I appreciate not only for avoiding the idiotic baggy-to-the-knees teenager look, but also makes actual (gasp!) SWIMMING a lot easier. The material is soft and comfortable. Mesh liner is also just right, neither too loose nor too tight.

All in all, very pleased especially for the excellent price.

I got a great deal on these in black on sale at $12.99 so cannot complain really. They seem well made. Shell is thick, durable but not all that soft. Not rough either. Brief is OK but not great. I have a couple older running shorts from Brooks and Sporthill that are about the same length with much better fabric/briefs for comfort. I use those for swimming in the lakes and will use these more for pools. The fabric on these will hold up much better to chlorine. Length is just about right for me. Next to impossible these days to find regular swim trunks that are not board shorts and/or knee length.

SIze was a little bit small but I can live with it but if ordering another pair I will go up a size.

As a 62 year old guy, 5'8" @ 157 lbs, I'm not going to wear the tight Speedo brief-I didn't feel comfortable wearing them when I was in my 20's. Anyway, I started swimming at the gym and felt I was being dragged down with my "vacation" swimming trunks-pockets, and heavy weight.
These fit the bill good enough. My only complaint -I wish they were maybe an inch or two longer. That being said, they fit as advertised so there's no misrepresentation. Note-In my opinion, if you're an over-weight guy, I think you should look for something else.
There's plenty of support where needed and they dry very fast as well. In the pool they do not bunch up. However, when I sit in the hot tub they baloon up-but since it's jetted hot tub, with plenty of bubbles, and no visibility- no one knows but me.

Waist size is fine... but the legs are baggy. Not sure why a pair of swim shorts need to look so bloated.

Very saggy in the butt...Fits well at the waist and is decent material but quite frankly the loose fit around your rear makes it look like you dropped a load in your swimsuit...I returned mine

My only problem with this pair was no pockets, which are standard on the Uzzi trunks I've been buying for over 10 years, comparable price.

perfect fit, but has no pocket. Great for swimming if you're either at tye gym using a locker, or at the beach with another person who can guard your wallet and keys. NOT for walking...

the log and bottom inside stiching is red, doesnt really show it here .. around the thighs is very loose, good for sports but not for casual wear, not really black black .. looks almost like a faded black

Really nice swim trunks--for about 7 months. I swim 3-5X weekly for 30 minutes in salt water pool. The elastic around the waistline gradually wears out resulting in waist which expands and expands and expands.... what started as a large size is now a XXXL. Trunks are rinsed thoroughly and dried after every use, and almost never put into the dryer.Funny that the fabric is still in pristine condition, no tears, no loose threads. Very comfortable while swimming, until the expansion gets too ridiculous. This is about the third pair of Speedo trunks to do this so I'll try another brand this time.

I bought these after having also bought the Deck Volley swim trunks. Personally, I don't mind shorter fit, but they are a little too loose fitting. The waist band is also not as snug as the Deck Volley, which results in bunching at the waist. The lack of pockets is also annoying. Personally, I'd buy the Deck Volley all day and pass on the Surf Runner Volley.

meh. Pretty baggy in the crotch area. They do dry pretty quickly so there's that. Nothing remarkable.

I have a 31" waist, 5'-8" tall, and weight 148, so I have a "normal / healthy", slim build. There is a whole lot of leg room on these shorts! The waist fits fine, but the rest is roomy to say the least. It looks as if they took a medium or large short and cinched the elastic waistband to fit a small person. So, it ends up looking like a "skort" (skirt / short mashup) with a whole lot of bunching of the material all-around. Not very flattering, unless you're into that look.

I had bought a swimming suit before from Amazon and decided that I needed another. However, the same Speedo suit I had bought before was unavailable so I ordered this suit. This one, though serviceable runs a bit small, even at the largest size. I do like the length of the suit because it does afford enough leg movement when both swimming and water exercises. Most longer suits are just too long to allow for leg movement.

If you plan on being inactive, these shorts are great! Honestly, they look really good. Just don't plan on doing anything in them.Their name implies you can do all sorts of activities (surfing, running, volleyball). I bought these because I lift weights and swim 5 days a week, and I occasionally run in my bathing suit along the beach or play sports while I'm there.I have fairly skinny legs (as a distance runner), yet these are still very restrictive around my thighs. Doing lunges or squats is simply out of the question, both due to movement restriction and genital crushing. Yoga is impossible without severe squeezing of sensitive areas. Pulling them up high enough to allow leg movement is ineffective because the lowest point of the inner netting is close to the waste band, so they don't come up very high without causing discomfort. Running is ok on the sensitive parts, but you can't get a full stride without them grabbing your thighs.They even restrict swimming movement, especially doing the breast stroke. They restrict any possibility of the frog style kick. I would be almost ok with a bathing suit not catering to running, weight lifting, or yoga, but to be useless for swimming is inexcusable.But if you just want to stand still at the pool like a stud, go for it.

I've been wearing this suit style for a long time and as I swim regularly the chlorine destroys these after about a year. The new pair's elastic in the waist is about half what they used to be and they seem to have shortened the entire suit. Guess they are trying to save money. This is the last of these I'll buy. Another good product ruined by the cheating of manufacturing to satisfy the bean counters.

Don't buy, listen to the other reviewers. The image for this product is definitely not what I received. VERY baggy/loose you look like you're wearing a parachute.

It is supposed to be black but its more like grey.

What junk! No where near an xlarge. And the material feels like a plastic bag.

Just to short and tight, probably will never wear them. For skinny dudes
