Five Star Reviews: | 64% GREAT! Give off a little heat September 12, 2017 Very bright white light, if that's your thing, GREAT! Give off a little heat, but not too much to warrant consideration of deducting stars. Have a great day! 5 Star so far! These are bright and white - not the yellowish tone ... September 9, 2017 These are bright and white - not the yellowish tone that so many lightbulbs have. Threw all my old ones out. Good price... good brand. September 6, 2017 Nice price for a pack of bulbs...better than the local big box store. Good reputable brand too! Brightens any room nicely September 4, 2017 Brightens up the room very nicely, now we'll see if it lasts 9+ years. Very pleased. Nice and bright, pleasantly compact September 3, 2017 The advertised 100-watt equivalency rating is no joke. Right on the money. All while having a length under 5" (but note that diameter is typical). Great "daylight" color, same size as incandescent February 6, 2015 Some people dislike the "daylight" 6500k color temp, but it is EXACTLY what I wanted in my shop. They provide nice, even, bright light. They do start at slightly less than full brightness, perhaps 90%, and gradually get to 100% in about 30-45 seconds.I originally bought some 100w equivalent (19w) Cree 5000k LED bulbs. Light output and color are comparable with these 23W CFL bulbs. The LEDs are 100% instant-on, are rated to last a about 2.5 times as long, use slightly less wattage, and are a little over four times as expensive.Aside from the great output and daylight color, the real advantage of these CFL bulbs is their size/shape: They are almost exactly the same size as a standard incandescent bulb, 4-1/4" from base to top and 2-3/8" diameter. The 19w Cree LEDs were 5" from base to top, and 2-5/8" in diameter, which makes them too large for some fixtures. These Phillips CFLs fit perfectly in fixtures designed for standard incandescent bulbs. | 74% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 13% Four Stars September 1, 2017 A little more blue-white than I was expecting, but a very clean and crisp light. nice design February 28, 2017 The shorter top is great for clamp lamps, so it doesn't stick out from beyond the lamp. Very bright. I don't know about longevity yet, so am holding back a star. These bulbs have performed well, so far. May 6, 2016 Kudos to Philips for 2 out of 4 bulbs that have lasted a year. One in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. The third bulb just replaced the LED bulb I installed in the kitchen which lasted only 4 days. Hopefully, it performs just as well as its 2 brothers. I will be revising this review if this bulb and the last do not perform just as well. I grew up on fluorescent light, so I am partial to white light. While I like that they are giving out white light, I do not like that they are CFL's using harmful mercury. When I bought these bulbs, LED bulbs were not that available. Now that they are, I will be buying Philips LED bulbs next time. Hopefully, they perform just as well as, if not better than the CFL bulbs i bought earlier. It seems like it is just a matter of luck when we buy bulbs. I read the bad 1-star reviews of these bulbs, and I feel I just lucked out on buying good ones. Cool very blue light output July 24, 2015 I purchased the Philips bulbs because of their low $12.97 for a 4 pack price (with free shipping) when compared with the BlueMax 1800 lumens, 5500 K CFL bulbs I had been using that cost $10 plus shipping each. I was surprised at just how much more blue their output is when compared with the BlueMax bulbs when first turned on. The brightness, however appears about the same. After being on for about 30 minutes, I noticed that the Philips bulbs changed to a more sunlight type natural-blue color output while become brighter. It is acceptable, but still more blue than the BlueMax bulbs whose color I find ideal. You can see in the photo just how the light from the Philips bulb at the top makes my oyster shell color walls turn blue. For comparison, the light bulb at the bottom is a BlueMax. By the way, the Philips light bulbs are exactly the same length and width as the BlueMax bulbs. | 14% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 9% WAY to bright white! October 28, 2017 The light works fine, however BEWARE - if you are wanting a VERY white light than this bulb will be great, way too bright white for me (find it hard to be in the room). I should have noticed the 6500K rating... Don't like these September 19, 2017 Burn out to quick for the price you pay and are to slow to become full illumination The color of the light is not warm -- it ... September 1, 2017 The color of the light is not warm -- it is less cozy feeling light than other bulbs. Very blue/white as opposed to yellow colored light. The bulbs seem bright enough but one out of the ... July 9, 2017 The bulbs seem bright enough but one out of the 4 in the packet was not working. The cost of me going to USPS to return this would almost be equal to the cost of the one bulb so did not bother. I feel like I'm in a warehouse or other industrial environment with ... March 1, 2017 I was looking for a bright bulb. This is bright. I only give it three stars because the bright light that the bulbs produce leans toward the blue end of the spectrum. I feel like I'm in a warehouse or other industrial environment with these bulbs. All bulbs were packaged perfectly and arrived with no damage. 6500K means that these lights are blue. Great very bright white light. Terrible packaging. December 19, 2016 The lights themselves are great although we'll see how long they last. My issue is with the nonresealable blister packaging which means if you only use some of the bulbs you need to have loose bulbs hanging out in your closet, shoebox, kitchen junk drawer, or wherever you keep mismatched items until they become junk or you throw them out in a pique of frustration. And with the bulbs you have the added attraction of broken glass and mercury contamination. Fun! | 6% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Would not buy this again September 8, 2017 Light is dim. I was trying to savemoney but its better just to go to Home Depot. Not quite right September 5, 2017 The price per bulb goes up considerably when only three of four bulbs actually work, as was the case for me. Blue light September 4, 2017 The lights are energy effecent but they look like they have a blue tint. They make the room look like it was blue and had a blue haze when they are turned off. Not completely satisfied. which I like very much September 3, 2017 The light bulbs are very bright, which I like very much. It illuminates the room very well, though two of the light bulbs have already burned out after about two months of usage.. Great light, terrible shipping March 21, 2017 I love the lightbulbs (they are very bright, which I had hoped for), though they do emit a slight high pitched hum that my husband and I both noticed. However, the shipping and packaging left a lot to be desired - all three of the packages of lightbulbs that I had ordered were cracked open, and every package had several broken lightbulbs in it. I've ordered lightbulbs from Amazon before and had a good experience with them all arriving in tact, but these were in a box that was way too big with hardly any packaging material. Pretty frustrating experience, though I like the lightbulbs. Then to see if it was perhaps an issue with the fixture I switched it out with a different bulb and everything was fine. This di July 15, 2016 Some of these seem to have connectivity issues in my lighting fixtures. Its not the fixtures, it is actually the bulb. I would install it, and the light wouldn't go on, but if I toggled the bulb around it would illuminate. Then to see if it was perhaps an issue with the fixture I switched it out with a different bulb and everything was fine. This didn't happen with all the bulbs in the pack though, so maybe they just had production problems with the lot I got. Regardless, kind of annoying. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 9% Short lasting September 16, 2017 Less than a month in 2 of these are out used in lamps that are on less that 4 hours per week. I brought two packs Philips 6500k 433557 light bulbs and ... September 6, 2017 I brought two packs Philips 6500k 433557 light bulbs and half of the bulbs already out. I will not buy this again. If that does not bother you though I am sure they will work fine. December 22, 2016 It's a personal preference, not a problem with the quality of the product, but I found them unusable the light is so blue. It's as if you purchased a specialty blue bulb for effect not a slight bluish tinge. If that does not bother you though I am sure they will work fine. this one is TERRIBLE, it is very bright to look at December 26, 2015 My fault! I chose the wrong thing, this one is TERRIBLE, it is very bright to look at,(eventually), but doesn't radiate the light to light up the area very well. I should have bought the SOFT WHITE version and will next time. | 6% There are no reviews yet |
