Great product and vendor.
April 4, 2017
This is great. Beats the heck out the halogen ones. VERY bright, lightweight, stable. Doesn't get very hot at all unlike the halogen ones that will burn you if you accidentally touch it. Does not break or burn holes in the carpet if you knock it over. Uses a tiny fraction of electricity as a 300 watt halogen with comparable light. The light head easily separates from the telescoping stand and has its own feet so it can be used without the stand like under the car where there isn't room. Should have bought one years ago.
Solved a problem we have had for 2 year in about 2 hours
September 19, 2016
I bought one of these work lights for the company I work for. The assemblers on the line have been fighting lighting issues for almost 2 years now and we have tried many different styles of lights but nothing that everyone could agree on, until this light. The assemblers used it for maybe half a day before they were asking me to order 2 more lights. The LED is perfect for safety as they do not heat up and they are so light that anyone can move it and angle it exactly how they want it for the best lighting.I would highly recommend getting these work lights for any place from a fast paced manufacturing facility to a small home garage. They are the perfect combination of light weight, sturdy design with a powerful light that shines over your entire work area.
super bright! wish the cord was longer

super bright! wish the cord was longer. LED is the way to go. get slight hot after long use. but not like halogen
So overall it is actually better than the halogen lamps
July 26, 2015
I bought this light in hopes of replacing the Halogen Lamps that I use. Lately I have been triggering the breakers as they are overloaded with the halogen lamps that I use (2-2-lamps with stand ). Additionally, the heat generated by them is almost unbearable in a closed garage. I bought 1 lamp to see if it could match the halogen lamps. In a nutshell..no....but not by much. This lamp is smaller, lighter and by far cooler!! It is many more times maneuverable than the larger lamps. I can move the lamp closer to the work that I do in my garage (I do show car detailing). So overall it is actually better than the halogen lamps. Additionally, I did not trigger the breakers! This lamp is so good I will be buying another or 2 very shortly. This is an awesome alternative to the halogen lamps.
Very Good Light - Not Perfect but Much Better than Halogen.
April 30, 2015
Pros:Very bright - compared to similar Husky LED model, this one is 2,600 lumens vs the Husky's 1,600 lumens. Noticeably different. As a mental reference, a single auto headlamp outputs between 1,400 (halogen) and 3,000 (xenon) lumens.Light weight - noticeably lighter than Halogen work lights.Very nice light throw pattern and light color. Photography quality!Cons:Lens is a bit smallish, so throw pattern isn't as wide as the larger unitsDoesn't run hot, but it runs warm. 120F according to an IR temperature gun.The stand is fine, but the attachment bracket is a bit cheap. Not the greatest design.A bit spendy.Switch doesn't always click properly - sometimes takes a few tries.Comments:Given the overall good quality of the light, I will use them in my shop as every day lighting, even though these are probably best as portable work lights. The cost is significantly higher than halogen, but halogen lights are ridiculously hot. That heat can make working in a room unbearable over time, and it significantly lowers the life.Overall good product. I've ordered a second.I will run my two lamps off a power strip and use that switch to power the lights. This will avoid that the built in switch wears out before the LEDs.
Exceptional product does what is should
March 25, 2015
Excellent pattern, wide and even with no hot spots and gradual fall-off at the edges. Color temperature seems to provide accurate colors and I'm using the light for painting. Plenty of light without so much illumination that it washes out colors and details. Head is easily removable for use without the tripod. Switch is solid. Some may wish for a taller tripod but given the spread of the base I wouldn't trust the light with a higher center of gravity. (Note that the 48-inch max height listed is from the floor to the very top of the handle.) The tripod itself seems well built and is certainly sturdy. My one complaint is minor: the light isn't quite level left-to-right when mounted. This doesn't affect performance; it just irks me.

bright with extra bulb
Had this for the last 6+ months and used it SEVERAL TIMES alrdy for LONG periods of time. still on same bulb.
November 27, 2014
Highly recommended. Gives you some really great light especially in those hard to crawl and reach places like crawl spaces. It gets really hot, but that is normal. I bring this up bcs once your done using it for the day, make sure you let it sit separate away from everything else in an open space for at least 10-15 mins to let it cool down some. And absolutely DO NOT put it into a cold environment for the purposes of cooling it down after usage. You risk cracking the lense and possibly the light bulb. One great bonus, is that it comes with extra bulbs as well. I've had this for the last 6+ months and used it SEVERAL TIMES alrdy for LONG periods of time. My average period of time was at least around 3 hours on average per use. Still on the same bulb. The only thing missing is a longer cord. But that is typical & common with these lights from most companies that make them.Last but not least, this was especially a great value and great quality for price. It was Much better than I expected.
Lights up my work
June 21, 2014
One bright little light. My only complaint was no on/off switch. But one trip to the hardware store and that problem was solved. It has an extra bulb on the stand and is a solid work light. The price was awesome at Amazon and I'm sure I'll get years of use out of it.
Need a small lamp and bright light. Get this one.
March 5, 2014
This lamp is bright is awesome. My mother said you can land a plane with this.It is no taller than maybe a 1 foot but provides all the light you need.I got two but I believe I will only need one.It does put out a lot of heat so it is good for winters outside. The cord is short. It has to stay close to the plug.
Work well.
February 10, 2014
They are working great. If at first they don't work, flip the bulb around. We thought that we were doing something wrong but we switched the bulb around and it worked perfectly. There's no on/off switch and it does get very hot. We bought two and used them with an extension cord in our attic while we were putting in new insulation. No complaints, but if you're using them in an area with kis or pets, keep in mind that they get very hot. Unplug them if you walk away for while or take a lunch break. For the price, we couldn't be happier.
Great Deal
November 1, 2013
Super price for a quality work light. Came as advertised, including the extra bulb. Remember not to touch the bulbs with your bare hands as this "somehow" makes the bulbs burn out prematurely, but that said, the light assembled easily and works great. I bought two and they sure come in handy, can't go wrong!

Great light, hated halogen's
November 23, 2016
Great light, hated halogen's. Stand is not amazing. Used zip ties to keep tripod open. It has one turn nob to do this but it doesn't keep legs from wobbling. So if u over tighten u will break it. My opinion is this is a very usefull light and best price/quality I can afford.

July 9, 2016
These are very bright light sources and the hardware is okay. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for high-stress or messy environments where the moving parts of the mounting stand will get a lot of wear and tear, but for most purposes these are versatile, low-energy-use devices that provide some terrific additional illumination where you need it.
LED work light provides solid, functional cool light
April 18, 2016
Tripod could be more sturdy (consider if moved often), the light is excellent, more than adequate for most jobs and considering it's cool LED, this is a great value. Light unit has easy snap on/off attachment to tripod. I'm using for a cabinet refinishing project and would have melted under halogen heat. Unit is well worth the extra cost to go LED.
Good light for painting
August 24, 2015
A good light to illuminate home improvement projects. Used it to light walls while painting. The stand and supports seem cheaply made, but work for light duty stuff around the house.

July 28, 2015
It provided a decent amount of light directed from a higher level. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about scalding my arm as the temperature is very low. I also like the way it detaches and connects with the small stand intact. My one complaint is that the mounting bracket prevents you from aiming the light down by more than 45 degrees. I will have to create my own bracket to be able to do this. The bracket hits the sides of the light frame.
Great light, ordering another one. Very bright.
March 29, 2015
Very bight, almost too bright if you don't position it right. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the light wobbles a little bit on the screw connecting it to the head.

Bright but hot work light
September 13, 2014
This light is exactly what I needed to illuminate my garage workshop late at night or extend the day by lighting up the back yard. It's pretty easy to set up and the operation is intuitive. It does, however, get really really hot. You'd be wise to not use this in any application that might put it near any flammable surfaces, because despite the grille on the front, this thing will burn you if you're not careful. That's to be expected with halogen though, so it's not a huge gripe. I would however, have liked an on/off switch on the unit, instead of just the "plug in and immediately on" operation as it is.
Great bright light for under $12
August 15, 2014
Good product-great price. Used it doing work in a crawl space - just don't get too close to the light source - hot as hell. Had mine on for over 6 hours over the course of 2 days - never 'overheated'. Bright flood-type light and up/down adjustable. Only downside is package says comes with a spare bulb - didn't find one in mine.
Quite a lamp.
April 19, 2014
I have a smaller version of this lamp and it is just right for small jobs. So I thought I would get a higher output lamp for a larger work area. Holy Moly this lamp puts out. It lights up my whole shop and it is a large shop. You better be carful for this thing gets very, very hot. It does what I bought it for.
Exactly as pictured, great for what you pay for
January 6, 2014
It is a strong light! Looks like the picture, and generously comes with an extra bulb. I purchased two, and 1 of the bulbs was busted but I still had another one to back it up so it was nice. These have VERY SHORT cords, so make sure you have an extension cord handy... but don't plug an extension cord into an extension cord- that will start fires. These lights definitely have the potential to start a fire so don't leave them on too long. They also aren't very movable, so the best way to control is position is with its height, it appears like it would be able to move forward and back, but doesn't do it much or at all.
Great Deal for the Price
December 8, 2013
I don't do five stars unless a product is above and beyond what I expected it to be. I bought these to use while painting the interior of our house and found them very adequate to do the job. I used the lights for hours on end and only had one annoyance. I wish the nuts that allow the unit to swivel up or down had some type of wing nut on them. After several times adjusting the lights either up or down the existing nuts became loose and the light would fall back and not only shine upwards on the foam handle...there was enough heat of course to see smoke coming from the handle. This means I would have to stop to tighten them back up. If they had the wing nuts, this would be less of an issue and less of an annoyance. But, other than that the lights performed as expected the entire time. It would be nice is there was an on off switch as others mentioned but this really wasn't an issue for me.
So far, so good
March 26, 2013
I ordered 2 of these lights at the same time. They arrived in one box. Both lights came with a spare bulb. The first light worked right out of the box, with no problems. The second light came with a broken bulb, but the spare one worked, so I have 2 working lights, I'm just down one spare bulb. We will see how ling they last and I will update this review after using them for a while.

For the money it isn't built to sturdy. The handle was bent down over the switch so you couldn't get your finger in to turn the light on and off. The tighteners don't stay tight so the base doesn't stay in place when you slide it up and down. It does have a nice bright light and its nice to be able to use the light without the stand.
Super brite great for extra light when welding.

This light is super brite. Do not over tighten the stand udjustments. I broke mine and will not Stay up in max position.

the light assy itself is nice , very good brightness.the mount from the light to the stand is poor. its always flopping around i dont expect the tripod to last long either. dissapointed for the money overall.
bright light, but poor quality stand

Light is bright but the stand is not tall and it is not very strong. I bought this particular model over other possibilities elsewhere for yellow color. Was hoping for a more industrial product for $100.

Does the job
April 4, 2015
was a pain to put together, gets extremely hot but I guess that's a given with halogen lamps. You can get one with legs at home depot, looks higher quality at home depot too. Does the job though.
Spend a bit more, get a much better light
June 1, 2014
This is a pretty cheaply made light, with no power switch, and is a bit of a pain the butt to assemble. The light bulb arrived broken but they did thoughtfully include a spare. That being said, it did stay lit for a project we had. It gets so hot that it doubles as a bug zapper.
It works fine, but...
May 14, 2014
....don't expect it to be the same unit that you can find at a brick-and-mortar store. Although it does provide the same amount of illumination, it is smaller and lighter than the conventional one. However, it still emits the same candlepower!
Good for the price...
June 28, 2013
Well, the first thing you'll notice is that the product pictured on the box, on the Amazon page and in the instructions isn't the same product that's actually in the box. Of course it's still a yellow 500 halogen light; but the the "stand" is modeled quite differently, so your single sheet of instructions won't help you out. Fortunately, it's not too hard to work it out on your own. The instructions also don't bother to tell you how to install the bulb, so if you've never worked with these kind of lights before, expect to spend 30-45 taking the bulb out, turning it around, sticking it in another way, and plugging it in to see if it works yet before you actually get it to emit any light. You have to keep plugging it in and out, you see, because there's no on/off switch. Most similar halogen lights I've worked with have big power buttons. Not this one; it's lit the entire time it's plugged in, and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it. That's not a huge problem, but it's less convenient and feels cheap. The cable is also very short. Like, surprisingly so. You'll need to get an extension cord for it in almost all circumstances. So it's not the greatest. But you're probably looking at it because it's only $14. Well, this light does what it's supposed to and it's bright and vertically adjustable. So if you need a cheap light, this'll do, and when you consider that you're getting two bulbs and a sturdy metal light and mini-stand, with the grill accessory for such a low price, it IS a good value. But if you're building a lighting package for yourself, you'll probably find it's worth spending a few more dollars for a nicer experience (i.e. a longer cord and an on/off button).
Was a little less than expected
December 1, 2012
The light burned out the original bulb after only 20 minutes use. The light has not been dropped or abused at all. It does come as described, but I have found so many for far less money locally that I would recommend checking with the local suppliers first and then compare. I ordered a cooper double light with a stand at the same time and the improved quality of the cooper is very noticable. The 500 watt lights do make nightime work very safe and large jobs are very possible due to the light's 50 to 60 foot working range, maybe more.

Light works great but the stand has VERY cheap, plastic features such as the knobs and stand sliders. In fact, The bottom support arrived broken. Instead of going through the hassle of returning it, I repaired the part with super glue. This item should sell for $30....not $80. Keep looking for a higher quality product.

I like the style and unit but was unhappy because one of my units came broken. The piece that holds the metal guard for the light. I had to use special blue and got it to work somehow.
broken
December 16, 2012
I also received this light broken. The external mailing box was intact, but the box inside had obviously been dropped prior to packing. It was frustrating because whoever boxed it up, had to have seen the damaged box and could hear pieces rattling around inside. We opted for a refund, but Amazon was great and timely to get our refund back to us.
Not well built
June 26, 2012
The light part works very well, however the shell and the stand is made of very cheap material. It is very tricky to get the protection cage on the light, and a small piece of plastic that is on the rim of the light cover broke off. I really needed the light and it was a minor part to the light the helps hold it on so it was still usable. The light that it puts off is very bright and from that aspect it is very usefull. I just don't see it lasting for very long.

May 12, 2016
Low quality, poorly designed, and dead on arrival product. The tripod won't lock into place at all even when tightened completely. There were two pieces of cosmetic plastic that had broken off during shipping. And the switch to turn the light on/off is hidden under what seems to be a handle and is very hard to access - weird decision or defective unit? I dunno. But it is bad.
Look for something better.

Fire and burn hazard. This thing gets so hot you can heat a room with it. I wouldn't do that however since it is wobbly and can easily tip over. If it were to come in contact with anything flammable you can expect a fire in short order.
