Nice assortment that comes in handy for the various percussion ...
March 16, 2017
Purchased for my daughter in the 10th grade and she loves them! She uses these high quality sticks in her Orchestra class. Nice assortment that comes in handy for the various percussion instruments that she plays. Well worth the money.
Good purchase
July 24, 2016
I bought these due to a recommendation and the reviews on Amazon. This is a very good product and, even though there are mallets at school, a good way for the percussionist to practice at home. I read some reviews that said the carrying case wasn't that good, ours is great and quite sturdy. I was a bit worried as to size as I have a teen but they are definitely not for small kids.
A surprising and wonderful percussion set!
January 4, 2016
I myself am just beginning percussion at my school, and was completely stressed out at getting a good set that would last. I thought that if I were going to begin this instrument, I should most certainly get ahead and look for a good acceptable pack with sticks so I could be ready to choose. My teacher recommended another brand, but I couldn't find a set like this anywhere. Nothing included the all of the sticks + bag! So, I consulted my parents about this. They agreed to purchase it for its great price and great views. I waited a long time for it, because it was the holiday Christmas shopping season. When I got it, I was absolutely blown away!!!! I'd seen my schoolmates bags, and they were no where as good quality as this! The mallets are extra large for good solid grip, a great feature. The XL stick bag still is wowing me to this second, no where was it as shallow and cheap as the other people's, it is about 100x better! Vic Firth is a highly recommended brand by me for anyone, from elementary to college and even more advanced and more specially talented people. By the way, it also comes with two drumsticks sets, four in all and in different amazing sizes! Nice, thick, and sturdy. It also comes with a poster to show you the basics of drumming, with a lanyard too! Amazing! You will have your expectations exceeded by far!
Happy Son, Happy life!
January 9, 2014
My son attends a highly ranked arts school in FL, and he is a percussionist. His band director told him that he should get sticks and mallets of his own, so he can always be prepared. So, for Christmas we gave him this pack. It FAR EXCEEDED his expectations as a musician! His passion for the arts is astonishing, and when he said that this gift was the best of all that he received this Christmas, we knew we made a good choice! Vic Firth is the brand that his school recommends, and we can see why. Until now, my son has broken sticks only days after purchasing them! This was an awesome investment for our percussionist (and he was especially thrilled with the lanyard and carrying case)!
Better than expected!

Bought this pack for my daughter who is an intermediate middle school percussionist. It's got everything she needs for school concert band and percussion ensemble. Its kind of silly but I was also impressed with the little VF catalog it came with. I found some stuff for me in it!!

A MUST HAVE!

Truly a great tool. I use it with installing rivets on garments like denim, upholstery and jackets.
Nice mallet for the money
March 19, 2017
Nice mallet for the money. Used it to push some pins out of my AR15 when replacing my trigger. It's a nice addition to my gun toolbox.
Good and Affordable Mallet
March 1, 2017
Great soft-end mallet to be used for average projects that need a gentle smack. The weight of the mallet is about right to hold it comfortably and to give the target area a good punch. The mallet it too small for hammering in large dowels, but fine for small ones or other metal parts that need to be put in their place. Great price too, if it stays down.
OK...
January 25, 2017
Ok - made in China - Hard plastic on one side and hard rubber on other ? I think... - can unscrew either to replace.Using for gun pin removal and replacement...
Slick little persuader
January 10, 2017
Great little mallet. I have a dead blow and several other "persuaders," but this is my go-to for anything small that requires finesse. It's a nice weight too and can get into tighter spaces than my dead blow. The soft and hard sides are very useful. Just buy it.
Feels like it will last forever...

When I started building a guitar, I purchased a bunch of new tools for the random odd jobs. This is my favorite of the bunch. Feels super well built, love the different ends that you can use. I feel like it will last forever.

Easy to carry back and forth to school
October 21, 2016
Bought these for my daughter who is in middle school band percussion. Easy to carry back and forth to school and no issues thus far. Her band teacher and instructor for lessons says they are holding up well.
Good set for school band
October 13, 2013
Just what my son needed for his 6th grade band. Just needed to buy one additional set of rubber mallets.

You may not use it often, but will like it when you need it
July 25, 2017
Read the comments and reviews. It works well for me and I was aware of its size before arrival as I has compared the measurements to a ballpeen hammer I have. I have not used it enough to speak to durability, but so far so good.
Hard plastic mallet, not soft
June 19, 2017
This is a well made mallet but I wouldn’t call it soft. The plastic ends are very hard and its not a replacement for a true soft hammer or a dead blow. For general use, its more then adequate but again don't but it if you want a really soft mallet.
Many uses when working on your guns

A pretty tool that saves your guns finish!
works fine

Okay hammer to have around for gun working
Good tool to have
October 23, 2016
This thing is a beast. When I was look at this hammer, I really thought it was going to be the size of the small brass hammers for gun smithing. This hammer is much bigger but I like it. The two ends come off and I guess you can put other types on but I have not seen any on Amazon. The hammer appears to be heavy duty and the handle has a rubber to help out with holding/grip.
Good hammer.
July 20, 2016
I will be using this as a low impact assembly tool and is built very good for a non-mar hammer. However neither head are solid enough to tap a roll pin to get it started, the roll pin cuts into either surface.

Great Sticks - Poor Quality Bag
September 17, 2014
Purchased this for our son, the sticks themselves were great, but he bags zipped broke off within 1 hour of it arriving. Since my son needed this for school the next day we really could not return it and wound up having to buy a new bag separately. Sticks are great though.

Inexpensive double headed mallet
July 12, 2017
Not sure I would use the word "soft" in any description or review I wrote about this product. Both sides are "softer" than a steel hammer but are both rather rigid. Still usable for my purposes (gunsmithing) but with limits.TEKTON 30812 Double-Faced Soft Mallet, 35 mm

Not for me!!

Made in China! Not impressed!!
Sturdy handle and light
October 18, 2016
Sturdy handle and light, but the ends tend to unscrew during heavy use. If you plan on using it repeatedly, get a solid rubber mallet instead.

Very hard rubber not as soft as I think it should be probably would break something
but it could be a lot better.
May 2, 2017
The head is not properly indexed with the handle, so it skewed with no way to fix it. Still works for light tapping, but it could be a lot better.
Cheap little hammer
March 23, 2017
Cheap little hammer. Serves purpose, would not last with a lot of use
Junk.
July 31, 2016
Was using the small one and it broke in half. Not accepted.
Poor QC.
July 17, 2016
As several other have posted, my hammer arrived with the head canted on the handle. Not something that I want to use on my gunsmithing projects.

July 6, 2016
I bought this with the TEKTON 6610 5/32-Inch Letter and Number Stamp Set and it isn't really heavy enough to get a good stamp. I had to buy a brass hammer in order to help me get a clear letter.

Uhhhh... On what planet (or alternate universe) is this hammer "soft"? It's hard as a rock in my universe. It goes back.
