It's earned its name and then some...
April 13, 2017
Oh wow!!! I wish I'd discovered this litter years ago!!! So, here's the story. Today I cleaned out both of our cats' litter boxes for the first time since this was delivered. There was absolutely no smell (I actually lifted up the one box and took a deep whiff... Yes, I'm weird but I wanted to make sure haha). Nothing. Nada. No horrible smell of kitty ammonia, no feces scent whatsoever! Do you know what's really remarkable?? This was delivered on March 28th. Today is April 13, and as I mentioned before this is the first cleaning. Now before you think I'm a terrible cat mom to have left the cats' litter boxes untouched for two weeks, I do have a reason; our dog passed away very unexpectedly and very painfully right after I switched to this litter. The household has been seriously down on the dumps since his passing and it wasn't until today that I realized I'd neglected our feline family members. That means there was no odor tip us off that it was overdue. I think that says a lot. The litter was remarkably easy to sift out even after all this time. The ONLY downfall I've found is that the bag is so large that I've ended putting more in than I intended to when pouring it in. That's an easy solution, however, I'll be putting it into smaller, more managible canisters hereafter. Please do yourself and your household a favor and get this litter! It truly is the world's best (and I speak from 19 years of experience with cat litter).
It is actually cheaper to use than "the old stuff"
February 2, 2017
This stuff is actually cheaper to use than, say, Tidy Cat. (Read below.) This stuff is outrageously good! Beats any other brand of kitty litter in every catagory. I used Tidy Cat for years... but no more. This stuff has virtually no dust. Absorbs odors wonderfully. Lightweight and very easy to scoop. It is biodegradable... you can even flush it down your septic system. (It's made from corn, I think.)Ok... is it really cheaper to use? Yes. You use far less of it than conventional clumping litter. It clumps wonderfully. It is light and easy shake through your poop scope... much less gets wasted by far! Also, the clumps don't break up while scooping so the pee smell doesn't just end up dropping back into the litter box... and building up into an awful accumulated ammonia-pee smell. The litter box stays much cleaner and, thus, less smell. So, don't hesitate because of the cost per bag, a bag goes much further and this stuff is really cheaper to use than the old stuff. We buy the fragranted version that smells wonderful. Yes, that's what I said.
Truly the best
October 2, 2016
I don't have praise enough for this cat litter. When I tried it I was in major crisis mode. I am very sensitive to scents, and every clay litter I tried gave me a migraine. I ended up putting off scooping as much as I could, which was really unfair to my cats.I started looking into other types of litter and wound up with similar issues. Dust and scent gave me migraines that would last a day or longer. Newspaper and pine litters both smelled bad enough new to be an issue, but worse was when they were used.I got lucky and was cat sitting for a family that used World's Best. It was the first time I've ever scooped litter without ending up in pain. The price tag made me skeptical, but I've found it absolutely saves me money each month. A 28 pound bag is enough for my three cats for a month almost every time.I love that it is corn based and therefore much healthier for my cats. Even though clay always seemed cheaper, I was always worried about my cats ingesting the clay when they clean themselves. No more issues there. This does not track anything like any other litter I've tried. A few little pieces here and there, but in general I would consider this a low tracking litter.Dust is also not an issue for me with this litter. When scooping you don't get poo dust clouds in your face. I don't think there's much more that would ever need to be said on that matter. The smell is the biggest issue for me for any litter. As I mentioned, this litter does not have a strong odor that might trigger headaches or migraines in people with sensitivity. That's not true for me with the purple lavender scented bag, but the red multi-cat unscented bag is perfection. We adopted a smelly cat a year ago. I won't pretend things were perfect when he was still super smelly, but as his diet improved and his bathroom trips got a bit less stinky, this litter still held up. I don't think a litter in the world could have helped our Nougat back then, but that's the only scent issue we've ever had.The clumps are almost always as firm as clay clumps, without the clay muddiness you get with some brands. Scooping is easy. Pee clumps are pretty giant sometimes, but they stick together. They also clump at the top, unlike some litters that let the moisture sink to the bottom. That means clean box sides. Poop doesn't end up in a giant clump of litter which was different, but not a bad thing at all.We alternate flushing and bagging. Even with a slower toilet flow the pee clumps (we don't flush the giant pees) break apart and go right down. It's definitely flushable if that is a key factor in your decision to but.The only issue I've ever had is that I had one bag sent that was subpar quality. When you get a new bag, the litter is in fairly large pieces. After using it, it breaks down to a much smaller size. The smaller size granule is not as effective, and is the signal that the litter should be changed. So I got a bag one time that was all the small granules, and it was essentially worthless. I tried to use it anyhow, but it was a bust. But that's the only issue I've ever had in years of using WB.So, this litter has saved money and migraines. Two of our cats took to it immediately, the third had to have it introduced with his old clay litter mixed in. That process only took about a week though. Ordering it on Amazon is the cheapest option I've found at the 28lb bag size, but I like that other retailers have started carrying it.I highly recommend trying it out. It's a game changer.
Cough up the dough. It's worth it.

Facts:- I live in a studio apartment (550 sqft) with two adult cats.- I am never as timely with scooping their shared box as I should be.- I hate spending a ton of money on anything, especially on things my cats pee and poo on.So put those things together with my five-star rating, and you should see why it's time to stop reading this review and getting out your debit card. The lavender scent is light and pleasant, the cats like it, and it's by far the best litter I've ever used. The end.
Best that we've used
February 22, 2014
Although I must admit, we haven't tried every litter in the world, yet!Timeframe: We've been using this litter for just over a month.Pros:+ Very absorbent. I think it is more absorbent than the clay litter. Every dribble forms it's own little clump.+ No dust. My wife used to wear a mask to scoop our other litter but it's not necessary now. In addition to health benefits, there is no dust to find it's way around the house and settle on every horizontal surface imaginable.+ Very soft. I don't know if "silky" is the right term, but that's the word that comes to mind.+ Cats took to it immediately, not that they didn't take to other litters, also. I just thought I'd mention it.+ Very light. There is a lot litter per unit of weight.Cons:- Price. 'Nuff said.- It doesn't scoop itself. We still have to scoop it. :)
It really is the world's best cat litter
December 28, 2013
We have 3 cats and one of them has really strong smelling pee. With all other cat littler, the smell coming from box was always unbearable. This completely masks the smell, it's amazing! It also clumps really well, which also makes me happy.

I love Tidy Cats' litter
September 25, 2017
I love Tidy Cats' litter. We've been using it for our 2-cat household for 8yrs. I've tried other brands, and keep coming back to Tidy Cats. I like this packaging MUCH MORE than the plastic packaging. This is more ecologically friendly. This box fills 2 Buddha dome litter boxes and lasts for about 1 month with regular scooping. I also use Arm & Hammer's litter deodorizer powder throughout the month to keep it fresh.
this is the one I like best; the red lid
April 23, 2016
Of all the Tidy Cats, this is the one I like best; the red lid. I have only one cat, and I clean her bos twice a day. If I have a decent amount od litter in her box, and if I wait for the product to absorb and clump, I do not end up replacing nearly the entire contents of the cat box. This is not true with some of the other colored lids; at least in my case. This big size is pretty heavy for me to cart through the house, so I use a dolly. But it does make for fewer reorders.I never have to wait long for delivery.
Litter Clumps Well and Eliminates Odors
January 31, 2016
Works great. It helps eliminate odors. This litter clumps very well too. When I bought it, I thought it was the big containers I buy at the store, but it's actually about 3/4 that size. The container it comes in it very durable. I like to reuse them for other things such as storing cleaning rags out int he garage, putting cat food in and even kids toys like legos. I've also heard of people using them to put their homemade detergent in too. Looking forward to trying that soon. Luckily though, I got it on sale and it was a great price even with it being the size that it is. I was surprised it was delivered in a box. I figured it'd just have a shipping tag slapped on it.
Great Product
January 22, 2016
Great product. Can't find this in Puerto Rico, so Amazon is always where I shop for items that I can't find in PR. Great product. Bought 2 of them for my large cat. Recommend this product to everyone.
and clumps great! The only disappointment is it doesn't cover smells ...
January 13, 2016
There are many complaints about this litter and I think its because people have purchased the non-clumping version. We switched over to this kind after my cat was diagnosed with asthma. This has practically no dust, and clumps great! The only disappointment is it doesn't cover smells very well but I think that's to be expected from a dust-free litter.
My Cat Approves
December 28, 2015
This is a clumping litter that works very well. Cat does his business, I scoop it out, and when the litter starts to run a little low - I add some more. The container this litter comes in is also a bonus. Plastic which can be recycled. It's also easy to carry and pour with a bucket-like handle. The lid reseals nicely every time.My only complaint is the dust that comes from the litter when scooping and pouring.

I like this cat litter
December 18, 2016
I like this cat litter. My two cats are "ok" with it. Our male cat tends to be a bit picky about his litter box. The female cat is easy. It is "different" from their old litter, and was surprising to them for a couple of weeks. No accidents or anything, they just don't like "different". It is described as "unscented". This means it has no added/masking fragrance. It does have a bit of its own smell because it is made from corn cobs. So, maybe a hint of a "fresh grain bin" scent - not much. I add a little of the lavender scented variety to it when I re-fill the box. This is for myself. I don't think the cats care either way.It is absolutely amazing to scoop out the litter boxes with this product! The urine doesn't sink to the bottom of the box causing one to scrape it with the scoop. This litter traps the urine right where it's done making it easy and lightweight to scoop from the litter box. The boxes stay a LOT cleaner as a result. 5 stars for performance!!
This litter smells like something that I can't quite describe
July 19, 2016
This litter smells like something that I can't quite describe, but it's sweet and familiar. I'm going to smell it; hold on. OK, if you've ever smelled Lipton's powdered teas, it smells like those. At least until the cat(s) soil it. It states that you should only have to clean the litter about once every four weeks as long as you're adding new litter after each cleaning, but I find it generally starts to smell too strongly after about three weeks. I think this is because it does not clump well enough in regards to its absorbing urine. When you're cleaning it out, chunks of these clumps fall off of the mother clump and then fall through the sifting shovel. They break apart too much to be scooped out and become the "dirt" that caused issues when I used to use clay litters. I like that it's natural and can flushed for easy disposal, but it's starting to not be worth the bump in price.
Performs better than Swheat Scoop
June 11, 2016
Nothing is perfect, but this comes very close! We had been using Swheat Scoop for a long time-through all the changes there-and when they downsized the bag and charged the same, I started looking around and found this World's Best multiple cat litter in the red bag, and I am happy to report that it is more than worth trying, for the value and performance alone.World's Best clumps harder and quicker-and can be scooped and flushed in a much shorter time-it clumps hard and quickly, and starts breaking down almost immediately in the toilet. That is in contrast to how slowly the Swheat Scoop performed-it took a while to set for urine clumping, and took a good amount of time before you could flush it without worry of it not breaking down soon enough. They are about equal in dust-wish they were better, but it doesn't seem possible to make them that way using the given materials-corn and wheat. Also, I found the Swheat Scoop to be much more pleasing to my nose than the World's Best, which smells a bit sour (to me) in contrast to the sweeter smell of the wheat (though, since noses and people's sense of smell vary-so, YMMV). I would give Swheat Scoop 3 stars, for value and performance-which reminds me of another reason Worlds Best got 4 stars-it lasts longer without needing to be changed when it starts to smell strongly of urine as it does with Swheat when it starts to get too old. I haven't gotten there yet with WB, and have been just replenishing the used litter with new fill since I started using it almost 2 months now! I just wish it smelled like wheat instead, and would be a little less dusty. Tracking also seems a bit better than Swheat Scoop too. So, we are pretty happy with this discovery, thank you WB and Amazon!
Not for me, but try it out!
January 25, 2016
Just wasn't a huge fan of this but I will still give it 4 Stars since my issues might have been a matter of preference. The good:1). It is supposedly healthier than the other stuff and is a natural product. 2). Can last longer than traditional litter. 3). Flush-able can be a hugeee plus for some people. 4). Dust free ( sort of..see below)What I did not like:1). Odor was odd to me. I might try it again to see if another batch has different results but I never got used to it. The smell of the litter mixed with waste reminded me of vomit. This could totally by just my perception but I am not sure.2). Cats did not adjust well. One used it about 25-50% of the time. The other avoided it like the plague even after the break in period of slowly introducing it. Won't knock the brand though because cats can be finicky and do not always adjust well to change.3). Though it wasn't as dusty as traditional litters, it did seem to break down into a fine powder. The tracking was not the same as traditional litter in terms of grains of dirt everywhere but their little paws left evidence of the litter everywhere.4). Price. They argue that it lasts a while but since I could not tolerate the smell too much I ended up cycling through it a bit quicker than they intended.5). Some people brag about the clumping but I wasn't too impressed. Seemed to break up easily for me. But I guess it is obvious that nothing can be as great as clay in terms of that, which is why they argue this is better. That clay stuff can turn to concrete and they argue it is very dangerous for cats if they ingest it.Give it a try though because I do believe this is a great product. Just not a great product for me.
Mix it with Precious Cat Ultra for ideal clumping, odor control
November 25, 2015
I have used WBCL by itself and it just didn't do the job for me. The clumping ability would decrease to zero over time as the litter got moistened, and the odor control would switch off almost overnight after a certain point.I have an asthma kitty and began using Precious Cat Ultra clumping litter because it's almost entirely dust free, though recent purchases seem dustier than when I first started buying it. The only thing I don't like about Precious Cat is that it congeals into a muddy, gooey cement at the bottom of the litter box.I recently tried mixing World's Best Cat Litter in with the Precious Cat, and it's the ideal formula. It clumps beautifully, doesn't turn to cement, and is great at odor control.I use a 4 cup measuring cup, and put in three scoops of WBCL for every five scoops of Precious Cat. That's 3 x 1.5 pounds = 4.5 pounds of WBCL for every 5 x 2.7 pounds = 13.5 pounds of Precious Cat. If you use that ratio, and buy 28 pounds of WBCL and two 40 pound bags of Precious Cat, you'll use up the bags evenly and be able to reorder everything in one order.
It was the best litter yet
October 31, 2015
Miss Kitty really likes this litter. Neither Kitty nor I tolerate added fragrances. I like it because there is almost no dust. It smells quite "corny" at first, but not unpleasant. The smell disappears quickly. This litter is almost miraculous in the way it eliminates the odors of my cat's products so quickly without cover scents. Folks who do not like cats have commented that they cannot smell the usual signs of feline residents. It clumps up very quickly, so as soon as Kitty hops out of the box, I can remove her creations. I am wary of flushable type stuff, but this breaks up quickly once it hits the water and flushes away easily. It does track around some, but not as badly as some brands we have tried. It is easy to sweep up. When some litters get tracked, if the crumbs get stepped on, they break up and spread around the house. This stuff stays intact and mostly stays put until I sweep or vacuum.I can't ask for better stuff. And if the cat is happy, I'm happy.Update: Geez, I know what some folks are talking about now, stinky litter. Up until my last purchase, if new WB litter had any smell, it was corniness that would fade away quickly. I got two bags that were okay upon opening but the first time my cat piddled, urinated, did not poop, the litter smelled like poo even after scooping. I wash the litterbox between changes, so I'm sure it was not any latent mess causing the stink. I can understand that a natural material will vary in color, smell, etc. but this is awful. And Miss Kitty started pooping next to the box. I had one more bag of WB remaining so I dumped the other stuff and refilled it. It is not as bad smelling and Kitty is using the box normally again. Quality control, please, World's Best. PEW

Hooray for Tidy Cats Multiple Clumping Litter
February 21, 2016
I very much like the Tidy Cats Clumping Litter for Multiple cats. Sometimes it does not clump especially when it is up against the plastic liner in the box. I have to pull the urine that is trying to clump away from the liner and sprinkle a little litter on it. Then it will clump up so I can remove it from the box. Other than that I like this litter. I have four cats - 3 in the house 24 hours a day and one in and out. They appear to like it. It they do not like litter they will refuse to go in the box and do their business on the outside of the box. That is how I know they like Tidy Cats Cat Litter!!!
Good litter, happy cats
January 27, 2016
Ordered for my mother because buying litter and getting it from the store to inside the house is very hard for her. This has a clean smell like laundry detergent, a little strong but cats don't seem to mind it and keeps room smelling fresh. Good price for the convenience of having it delivered to the porch. Do have to note that Amazon combined this item with another order, completely crushing an MP3 player we had also ordered. Very dumb but sadly wasn't surprised when it happened.
Not quite perfect, but a winner still........
January 7, 2016
I have three cats and I have tried almost every commercial litter on the market (Fresh Step, Scoop Away, etc.) and I always seem to come back to Tidy Cat. It is the best Value for money and it does the job in my home. I gave it four stars instead of five because at times when I am scooping the clumps fall apart which is annoying because the urine "clump" then spreads all over the litter box and it breaks into such small pieces that it goes right through the scoop. I feel that I have to make more total litter changes because of this. Like I said earlier, as far as value for money Tidy Cat is the one I would recommend.

December 14, 2015
This worked pretty well for our 3 cat house hold and it's good for a clumping litter. The odor masking isn't perfect, but I'm not sure any litter does that perfectly when you have so many felines around. I generally buy based on lowest price and will stock up on this whenever a coupon deal is offered. I have had issues twice, however, with receiving a cracked container from Amazon - not a product issue itself but these plastic containers (otherwise convenient) snap easily at the corners.
May Be My Favorite So Far!
December 10, 2015
Very happy with this litter. It is less dusty than previous litters I have purchased and has a tolerable scent. My cat seems to have allergies to dusty litters with heavy fragrance (I had never realized some cats can actually have litter allergies), but she seems to like this litter and it does not make her sneeze as did the previous one. Great value also!
Good value absorbs smell good clumping -
July 11, 2015
This is not the best cat litter out there. But I think it's might be the best bang for the buck. It's a good value with strong odor control and clumping. Fresh step and a couple others may have better odor/clumping but costs more.Cat litter in Paraguay is horrible - don't know what a great product American cat litter is until you can't buy it.BTW- sometimes I buy other litters and use the empty container to blend litters. Can't do that with those that come in cardboard box, which is more prone to spills/ tears etc. should get 1/2 star for the container.

Tldr; at bottom of review
January 25, 2017
The litter does a pretty bad job at absorbing any urine or odor. I swapped from the regular Tidy Cats brand at the store for this which costs about twice as much and is about 3/5ths the density. While it does a good job (so far after about 4 days) of absorbing any odor from urine, it does not clump up well at all which is allowing the urine to collect at the bottom of my litter box. As far as feces goes, it does not cover up the odor of it whatsoever and constantly an odor of feces comes from the box. It does not stick to the feces well at all, even after I myself attempted to pour some of the litter onto it with a scooper right after one of my cats was done, it didn't stick hardly at all. The litter has a very faint odor of cardboard box and sawdust, which is probably what this is made of to be honest. It performs about as well as the crappy "special kitty" litter you find in big box and grocery stores for about $5.00 a huge bag. I think the litter said it was organic or flush-able, so if thats your thing then go for it. I'll be swapping back to my older litter and wont be looking back at all. I gave it 3 stars because it at-least works better than clay non-clumping litter, but its outrageous cost and poor performance isn't worth the money.Tldr; Doesn't cover odor at all. Can't clump urine to save its life. Costs twice as much as brands which work very well. Works just as well as $5.00 big box store and generic economy brand litters at practically 4 times the cost.
Honest review.
January 13, 2017
I waited two months of use to write this review. It is to be noted that I have a mat specifically for catching dust and litter on the paws of my 2 cats (one is 4 years old and the other is 1 years old)+Pros* Clumps instantly* There is a slight fragrant smell* Little lasts quite a while- Cons* While the litter does clump instantly, unless its a huge clump it also breaks apart easily.* The slight fragrant smell while decent doesn't mask anything and in long term irritates the sinus. In my experience this litter is actually weak as far as covering that cat smell. (Multiple people who have been around it have said so along with me)* DUST. SO MUCH DUST. I honestly have no idea what these people are talking about when they say there is no dust however there is plenty. You can see how the powder like litter is going to be a problem the moment you pour it. I have a few furniture pieces that are black and you can see the litter paw prints every here and there. This litter WILL stick to their paws and they will take that litter box dust everywhere.* Expensive. For the price I'd expect something much better than this. My cats did not show a like or dislike for the product..to them it was their litter-box and it was just something new to cover their poop.I gave 3 stars because it does last a good while.
World's best, was worlds least liked by my cat -- she used the carpet instead. :(
November 30, 2016
I wanted to continue using this, but one of my cats started urinating and defecating on the carpet. I ruled out this litter being the problem by getting a second litter box with mainstream clumping litter. She started going in that box right away. I again, ruled out it being a problem with the placement of the box by putting the World's Best litter in this new spot. She started urinating and defecating on the carpet again. The pros: Little to no dust and you can flush it.The cons: Cats may not like it, cats track more litter around the house compared to mainstream clumping litters, I never did figure out a way to dump it in the toilet without some litter getting on the toilet seat (I would scoop it into a small box and then dump it. I tried scooping into a bag and dumping and that was a disaster).I didn't find this to smell like some reviewers stated. Yes, if you sniff it you can smell something, just about everything has a scent, but it wasn't overpowering or bad in my opinion.
Great at Clumping, But Watch Out for Dust Tracking EVERYWHERE!
December 31, 2015
In my litter robot, this very lightweight litter tends to clump really well, but all the larger granules are the first to attach themselves to the waste and get dumped out into the bin, eventually leaving more and more of nothing but very fine, chalky dust. My cats are black and tuxedo, and I have found their little beige paw prints on my bed, on my sofas, on the rugs leading down the hall from the bathroom, and I've seen them coming out of the bathroom with their paws covered halfway up with this chalky dust. My solution has been to mix this with a clay-based litter that was working well, giving it more density and making it take much longer to reach dustbowl stages. Also, there's not as much odor protection as I've seen in other brands. Until trying this one, I never smelled any amonia or poop odor eminating from their litter box until it was nearing time for emptying anyway. With this stuff, it's almost as if it boosts certain sweet smelling, foul odors and makes them stick in the air. That also diminished when I mixed it with the other cheap clay litter.
Difference of opinion between our cats
September 8, 2015
Mixed feelings on this. It is the best cat litter I've ever bought. It stays fresh for much longer than other litters and doesn't create a cloud of dust. Unfortunately, one of our cats doesn't like it. She will use it for #1, but then she makes a face, steps out of the box, and deposits #2 about two feet away. And she looks me in the eye all the time she's doing it. Sorry if that's TMI, but when we switched to another litter she returned to the box. I won't give it one star, because our other cat was fine. Suffice to say, we won't be buying any more of this product. Cats rule.
Lightly fragranced, but much dustier than the regular World's Best Clumping Litter - get the green bag instead
October 1, 2014
Tested a number of litters including World's Best Cat Litter Clumping Litter. That comparison is below. I have since also tried World's Best Multiple Cat Clumping Litter. In comparison to the regular Clumping Litter, the Multiple Cat litter does have a bit of a fragrance smell (which is not objectionable - it isn't strong), but the bag I received is much dustier. I had to mix it with some of Nature's Miracle to reduce the dustiness, and even then it still was dustier than the regular World's Best Clumping Litter. While I use the regular Clumping Litter (which comes in the green bag), I can't recommnend the Multiple Cat version.Original comparison below-------------------------------------------------Did a 25 day test w/ World's Best Cat Litter Clumping Litter Formula, Nature's Miracle Just for Cats Corn Cob Litter, and Just the Crystals Premium Crystal Cat Litter. I've also previously used Dr. Elsy's Precious Cat Ultra Premium Cat Litter and can offer a comparison with it as well.(#1) World's Best: Clumps very well and doesn't track much at all. There is a small amount of dust, but the dust appears to have a large particle size and doesn't stay airborne, so it settles quickly back into the box instead of getting all over everything. There is a slight odor to the litter which is a little unusual, but it doesn't smell bad, and it seems to control the cat odor well. It's also light weight, which makes it easy to scoop. My four cats had no problem w/ World's Best. Of the four litters, this is the one I'll probably end up going back to. Some people look at the cost per pound and say it is too expensive, but it is less dense than the clay litters, and as a result it takes less poundage to fill a litter box. While I didn't measure this precisely, I'd tend to say the 28 lbs bag of World's Best goes at least as far as a 40 lbs bag of Precious Cat (or other fine clay litter), which makes the costs a lot more comparable (just don't overpay for the litter - some of the Amazon marketplace resellers gouge on the price).(#2 - tie) Just the Crystals: I tried this litter based on the excellent reviews here on Amazon. It doesn't track very much at all (and given the large granules, it is easy to vacuum up when it does). It is easier to scoop than the others, as you just scoop out the poop and then stir it - you don't need to remove the urine. While that sounds a bit gross, it really doesn't appear to get wet, smelly, or dirty any quicker than the others. I was also really impressed with the manufacturer, who definitely seems to stand behind their brand. All of that said, while Just the Crystals is much less dusty than the clay litters, it did create a small amount of airborne dust while scooping. It wasn't particularly objectionable, but was more than either Nature's Miracle (which had none) or World's Best (which settled before getting very airborne). My cats also used this box less than the others, though they've never used a crystal litter before and likely just aren't used to it, which I can't hold against Just the Crystals. The verdict? I probably won't continue with Just the Crystals myself, but if I used an automatic litter box this would probably be my litter of choice. Price does seem a little bit more than other premium litters when measured by volume (not weight), but because you don't throw out the peed up litter, you still have just as much litter in the box after 3 weeks as you had when you filled it initially (versus the other litters where you're steadily throwing away litter as it gets peed up), which balances things out a bit.(#2 - tie) Nature's Miracle: Basically zero dust, very lightweight (so it is really easy to scoop), and it also smells great coming out of the package. It does track a bit more than the others, though that's only a minor annoyance to me (could be worse depending on where the box is). The real problem though is that it doesn't clump well, and since the clumps fall apart, small pieces of old, peed up litter gradually build up in the box, which means it starts smelling bad faster. While I used Nature's Miracle for years, this is eventually what pushed me away from it. If they could fix the clumping issue, this would probably be my favorite litter because of the non-existent dust and light weight. The clumping issue is a fairly big deal to me though, and World's Best gets me most of the advantages without that major disadvantage. Per unit of volume this seems comparable to other premium litters - perhaps a bit less than World's Best or Just the Crystals - but you might need to change it more often to keep it from smelling bad, which could make it less cost effective.(#3) Dr. Elsy's Precious Cat: Clumps extremely well and controls odor quite well. When I had a stray cat and her kittens, this is the litter I picked once they were of age to use a litter box (rather, I used the kitten version of it) because it seemed to control the odor the best for the longest period of time. It does track a bit more than the litters with larger granules (like World's Best or Just the Crystals), and it's fairly heavy, which makes it harder to scoop and change. The worst part is the dust though. As the litter ages, the granules seem to break down into smaller pieces that go airborne and make absolutely awful dust. The older it got, the worse it became. Scooping it would set off the smoke alarm in the room, and I had to wipe down everything in the room with a wet rag to remove the thick coating of litter dust. With one box in the past (prior to this test), it eventually got bad enough I felt like I had to cover my mouth while scooping it. I've tried their Respiratory Relief version as well, and that wasn't any better. I've also tried mixing it with a less dusty litter like Nature's Miracle, but that made little difference. Price per unit volume seems a bit less than World's Best or Just the Crystal's (more comparable to Nature's Miracle - maybe a little less than it too), but I wouldn't use it anymore even if it were free - can't stand the dust.As for test methodology... All of the boxes were changed the same day. They were also washed before changing them using fragrance free detergent (I use fragrance free laundry detergent to do the boxes - it's mild, leaves no odor, and I'm sure won't irritate my cats). The litter boxes are converted from large Rubbermaid totes (I needed something with high sides as I have one cat that sometimes doesn't squat and pees over the sides of regular litter boxes). I scoop them once daily at night. While all of the boxes are pretty large (again, they're Rubbermaid storage totes), one is about 50% larger than the others. Historically, my cats have preferred that box, perhaps because of the extra room. In this test, that box had World's Best, and, true to form, they used that box more than the others. That said, the box size may factor into that. Also, I did not actually measure volume for the price comparisons. Those are very loose estimates based on how much it felt like I needed to dump into the boxes to fill them. At the end of the day, the price differences between them weren't so significant as to be the major differentiator between them.

Great For Multiple Cats Bad for Tracking and Dust
September 26, 2017
Was looking for a litter Low in dust, Low Tracking, Unscented and Clumping -Pros -Clumps wellHandles Multiple Cats no problemCons -Medium TrackingDefinately ScentedDusty (although not as dusty as others)A couple of notes adding 28 September 2017 since Tidy Cats responded to me -1) still tracks less than Swheat brand and the "light" varieties of litter2) I still haven't found a litter that my cat will not track - he has a "dig to the other side of the planet" style to his box use3) my litter boxes sit on one of those fancy cat tracking rugs - those aren't an end all answer but they do decrease the amount of litter in my house significantly. Thanks for the response Tidy Cats!
Litter Performs Great / Chemical Potpourri Smell Is Too Strong
May 20, 2017
I really love Tidy Cats litter and it does great for clumping and hiding odor. My only dislike is that this particular product has a very strong "chemical potpourri" smell to it that I'm not a big fan of. I think I'll switch back to the Multiple Cat formula over the 24/7 Performance one. (Also, the lid for the bucket is very hit-or-miss with coming off. Once it was so stuck, I had to seriously strain to get it off).
I like buying cat litter online
February 19, 2016
This is a smaller pail than what I am used to seeing in the store. The litter is the "heavy" variety as opposed to the new lighter varieties that are now on the market. Frankly, I prefer the heavier because the lighter seems to stick to my cats' paws and make a bigger mess around the house. I like buying cat litter online, particularly when shipping is free, because it is delivered to the house and I do not have to carry it from the grocery store. The smaller pail with the heavier litter is actually a good combination; however, my wife suggested that this particular litter does not do as good a job with odor control, so she prefers that I do not buy it again.

This letter is okay I definitely prefer the scented with the glade the quality is pretty good I mean it could be better kind of dusty I don't meet your cover's smell as well as some as well as some others but if you needed something cheap and fast this is a good alternative
Decent litter. Also good if you want a walking air freshener.
January 27, 2016
Inexpensive and good value for the money. Otherwise, it's a fairly average, if not to say mediocre litter. Dustier than I would like and tracks moderately. Also, although the packaging does not say anything about scent, it is scented - not to an extreme extent, but it's still annoying, as I prefer my cat not to smell like an air freshener! The clumps break apart somewhat easily and crumble in the litter box. Overall, I prefer Elsie's, but will keep using this at the moment due to cost.
Not a fan
January 8, 2016
I hated this litter. It clumps a little too much. I'll be cleaning the litterbox and these clumps are huge! Also making me go through the huge pail very quickly. My cat has to sit there for I kid you not, 3-5 minutes straight trying to move the litter, it will wake me up at night-litter box is in another room and I hear him sitting there scratching. I think its a waste, and a little more heavy duty than necessary. I'm ordering something else since I've already run out.

Not like it used to be...
August 5, 2017
Very dissapointed in this litter. We had been using it for 2+ years and loved it - but then it seems they changed something. It became very dusty & the cats tracked it everywhere - there would be a layer of dust from this litter all over everything in the room. We scoop daily and the litter would start to smell after about 1 1/2 weeks (used to get a solid month out of 1 big bag). Finally decided to switch to a different litter (Dr. Elsey's) - best decision. I highly recommend Dr. Elsey's to anyone else experiencing the same issues with World's Best (VERY little dust, and only minimal tracking, to the point where it doesn't get further than the litter mat and the small kitty room we have the litter box in!). I'm disappointed in how the litter changed (not sure what happened), but it just became way too messy.
World's Best? I think not.
September 27, 2016
Let's address the things it touts on the label, shall we?99% Dust Free is not the same as 100% dust free. And that 1% makes all the difference. I actually breathed some in at one point! Now, granted, I had accidentally poured a little too quickly, but come on! That's way more than 1% dust!Quick Clumping? Okay, maybe it did clump quickly, but it's not like I was there at the time so I don't know if that's true. What I do know is that pee clumps fell apart almost as soon as they were scooped. FORGET SIFTING! If you want to get all the pee out, you have to scoop it quick and dump it into the trash bag fast, and whatever clean litter is in the scoop is a lost cause.Outstanding Odor Control??!?!?! I have one cat. One single cat. And even with cleaning it regularly, the smell was noticeable. I had to change out the litter out completely if I wanted to have people over and not become the friend with the smelly house. The worst part is, this litter claimed to do everything that the litter I usually buy does, but with none of the chemicals. Maybe this is better compared to the all natural pellets, but that's not saying much. I honestly don't understand why it's gotten such great reviews in the past.
Disappointed
June 10, 2016
I tried this litter for a little over two months with mixed feelings. I did like that it is a plant-based product. I was able to go about 2 weeks between changes. The cats seemed fine with it and it never clumped in their feet and didn't track when they left the box. It does do odor control. However, the smell of the product itself is odd. Like a grain silo, if I remember that smell correctly. It's not disgusting, just odd and noticeable. This litter is 0% dust free. Zero. It isn't too bad when you first put in the box, but with every scoop, it kicked up more and more dust. I use a Litter Genie for the waste and the black cover was beige every day and the dust and small particles got stuck in the hinges. I was forever cleaning up. If you don't really, really, really shake out the scoop over the box, the litter will fall through the slots of the scoop on the way to the trash, over the side of the box, etc. Clearly, the clumping ability wasn't great, so all that shaking ended up breaking up what you were trying to get rid of. What a mess. But the dust is the worst. I suppose it's better than breathing in clay dust, but still not something any one human or cat should be breathing in every day.
Try the unscented version (green bag) if you have older or UTI-prone cats (scent can cause UTIs)
February 11, 2016
I have to say that I LOVE this brand's UNSCENTED litter (green bag) and they have a loyal customer for that product, but this lavender-scented version gave my aging cat UTI infections almost immediately. Other scented litters (and I choose as natural litter as possible) also did this to her. I hadn't realized that was the culprit until I read the review of another lady nice enough to post that about her experience with her aging kitties. I would advise that it's far healthier for your cat to go without the scent. Once I switched back to the unscented litter, no more UTIs for the past several months where before they appeared with days of a scented litter being present in her box.I didn't like the scent of this litter anyway even though I usually find mild lavender to be a nice smell. I guess the litter didn't really smell quite like real lavender. (I'm not one to use scented anything, so my tolerance for scent is pretty low.) Clumping of this litter brand is excellent. Absolutely no complaint there. I never notice a problem with odors with my unscented version (given once a day cleaning).
NOT the "World's Best"
August 16, 2015
I got this because of the nice lavender scent and some of the good reviews. I used to get "Scoop Away" for my cats from Costco. But it was sooo much easier to get this delivered to my door. Alas, the lavender smell does not cover up the poop and pee smell of the cats. I really thought it would work better than the Scoop Away but the smell is wretched even on the day when I change the litter (i.e. it just takes one poo or pee to make it smell really bad). I'd return it if I had bought this at a brick-and-mortar store. I really think "World's Best" is basically false advertising. Going to switch back to Scoop Away ASAP.To be fair, the smell is rather pleasant BEFORE any poo or pee. And there is no dust with this litter. So maybe, if you're cats aren't too smelly this would be good for you.
No more.
August 15, 2015
I used this for years until I discovered another litter that is better for me and my boys. You had to completely change out the litter every few days because of the build up of small, loosly clumped urine that fell through the sifter. It doesn't clump very well and the lingering ammonia smell is overwhelming especially if you live in an apartment. You can check my reviews for information on which one I switched to.

Product is good, Amazon's price is not
July 7, 2017
The product itself is good - I love the Tidy Cats litter. However, the ridiculous price Amazon is now selling it at is very disappointing so I will not be buying this again through Amazon until they drop the price back down again.
Felt like I had not gotten my money's worth
May 9, 2016
It was worth it for the tub, but we only have one cat and it did not keep the smell in. It also clumps SO much that we went through the litter WAY too fast. Felt like I had not gotten my money's worth. Switched to a none clumping formula and just use the tub for storage.
Not the best
April 17, 2016
I tried this in a pinch. I ran out of Fresh Step and decided to give it a go. The problem is that this is what appears to be a dense clay litter. Unlike Fresh Step, which absorbs the urine completely, Tidy Cat just let's it sit on top until it slowly dries out. My cat won't even bother to try to cover his messes. I've used worse but I won't be buying this again.
Messy and smelly!
March 28, 2016
We switched to this litter because it was on sale and what a mistake. It smelled awful and ended up all over the floor in our bathroom. My cat is kind of a pain in the ass and knocks his litter out of the box but this litter didn't really clump well at all so that only made it worse. We won't be using this again!
It's ok... It smells strongly of perfumes ...
March 7, 2016
It's ok... It smells strongly of perfumes and it doesn't clump the cat pee as well as other clumping litters do. It was cheap though, and it's big so it'll last awhile.
I used to love your litter
January 18, 2016
Tidy Cats, I used to love your litter. Been using it over a decade. Noticed lately that it doesn't clump like it used to. Very hard to remove urine from cat box due to it not clumping to make it scoopable. Don't know why you changed things. You had a great thing going, but now I'm going to have to change to a different brand since I can't remove the waste from the box.

It Clumps! and smells like rotten citrus.
April 15, 2017
This litter just doesn't work well for smell. The one star is because it clumps fine. But it smells awful, doesn't absorb the cat smell, and my cat hates it. I will put fresh litter in, 2 hours later my cat is complaining and then craps right next to the box. The cat even started doing a thing where he "shops around" the litter boxes in the house. Then settles for right next to the box since they were all filled with this litter. It also smells weird, like rotten citrus fruit.
World's Worst Cat Litter
March 30, 2017
The litter does not neutralize poop odor at all and the combination of the litter's own odor and the poop smells way worse than just the poop alone. I have two cats so I got the Multi-Cat but didn't try the lavender scent. I could buy a bag of the lavender and mix the two to fix the odor problem and then switch fully to the lavender but I have another reason for disliking this litter. This litter is too light to use with a Litter Genie. The Litter Genie traps odor inside the special chamber but the poop needs more added weight from the clumping litter to have it sink to the bottom. This litter is too light so I have to push the poop down, making a mess and releasing the odors further. I'm not giving the lowest rating because my particular situation doesn't make the litter a total loss and others may like this. I will be mixing this with my existing litter to not waste money by throwing it all away.Takeaways:If you use the litter box room for people living (it's my office space) then you need the lavender scented versionThis litter will not work with the Litter Genie at all, don't even try itMy setup:Arm and Hammer Clump and Seal multi cat scented formulaLitter Genie Plus x 2Petmate Booda Dome Cleanstep Cat Box, Brushed NickelScoopFree Ultra Self Cleaning Litter Box - Purple
Horrible product!
March 1, 2017
This has got to be the worst cat litter I have ever used. I remove waste immediately after my kitty uses the box. The ammonia smell is so bad it is difficult to sit in the same room as the litter box. This was expensive stuff! I'm sure play sand would do better. Don't spend the money. Tidy cat works better.
Scoops well but TERRIBLE odour control - so what's the point? Don't bother.
September 26, 2015
I tried this after my friend recommended it. It scooped perfectly and clumped really well. No pasty smears along the bottom of the litter box, though it did make his paws quite dusty. I really wanted to like it but I couldn't forgive its lack of odour control. After a few days it began to smell, even after scooping. We needed to keep the window open in our (large) bathroom 24/7. We dumped it and tried again. Same thing. Our cat also didn't like it after it started to smell and began to pee in the bath tub instead, luckily he still used it for his other business. Will not buy it again.
If you don't need to flush it, avoid it.
September 15, 2015
I don't need flushable litter, and this review concerns an issue that may be related to its flushability.*Odor control is adequate. That said, this product's crumbling problem is one of the worst I've seen. It's inferior to mediocre brands of ordinary clumping litter. If you like the idea of having lots of small crumbles of urine-soaked litter remaining after you've scooped out the box, you'll like this stuff.* Assuming, that is, that it really can be safely flushed. Given the distance between the product's claims and the reality, I wouldn't bet the rent on that.

I would give this zero stars if I could. I have three cats at home and this stuff smells so much like ammonia. I clean the cat litter everyday and I can barely breathe when I'm near the box and it's clean. It smells nothing like lavender. My cat peed in the bathtub which she's never done in six years. I'm guessing because she hates the smell. I wish I could return it and get Dr. Elsey's which I used before but wanted to give this litter a try. Ugh!

I promised our cats I would not purchase this again.
July 17, 2016
Our cats didn't approve. Seriously, I have never seen so many unhappy creatures in my life!I thought I'd save a little and get a lot. The box arrived- couldn't hide it from them and the litter was changed. VERY displeased kitties. I am still apologizing for my choice! Will not purchase again. This does nothing to cover the odor and while we do have several cats, we have been purchasing a different brand that DOES cover the odor leaving you wondering where on EARTH the litter boxes are kept. Seriously, I had Home Care come in after my fusion and the physical therapist had no idea that the litter boxes were just in the closet behind us until he realized there was a stream of kitties coming and going into that room!Too much dust! Dust is not good for your kitty no matter how old and this brand kicks up enough dust to make you think you, yourself, are using the litter box. No more. I apologized and they forgave me- after I first had our kids change out the bad litter (this one) for the good stuff the MOMENT it arrived. No more cutting corners.

Horrible. I've used this product off store shelves and it's fine but for some reason this door delivered litter would not clump whatsoever.

this is the lightweight stuff. it works, but gets all over the house. since it's so light, it doesn't fall out of your cats paws, even if you have a mat. next thing you know, you can follow your cats every movements by looking for grains of litter. and if their paws are wet, you now have little muddy paw prints everywhere. go back to the normal heavy clumping little
