We Don't Use Litter, But This Litter Box Made Life So Much Easier!
May 11, 2017
I have 2 cats; one is a perfect pee/pooper in any box or litter provided. The other, however, is blind and HATES the feel of litter on his fingers and toes. He will squat just about anywhere. I was losing my mind! But, then I had a realization: he always peed in cardboard boxes I put down for his sister to play in. I started covering the outside of those boxes with wax paper and letting him go for it. Of course I was constantly throwing out boxes out and making new ones, which was tedious. So, I bought a couple of cheap, plain litter boxes and lined them with puppy training pads. Almost perfect. I switched to human bed pads in this amazing litter box. Perfection at last! The top holds the pad in place. I just remove soiled pads and replace with new ones.

If you have a delicate flower who can't dirty his paws, this might work for you. It's certainly made my life easier.
THE PERFECT COMPROMISE FOR MY QUIRKY FELINES
April 26, 2017
Love it. This is the second of these litter boxes that I have purchased. The extra-high sides are perfect for my little girl cat who for reasons unfathomable likes to start peeing low to the ground and then lift and wiggle her butt as she goes so the final spray of pee arcs as high and sprays as wide as possible. Yeah. But the design also works for my big boy cat who doesn't like litter boxes that are enclosed. So, the perfect compromise for both of them. The matching scoop that attaches by hanging off the side is handy and a nice little extra. I also like that I can easily see when it needs cleaning. Oh - and the people who complain that the top part does not snap into place or otherwise attach securely are trying to put it on backwards: The front is the side with the indent in it. The kitty steps over that indent to get into the box, so you put the top part with the cutout for the kitty to step over on top of the indent. Then everything snaps securely into place. If you try it the other way it kind of seems like it should fit, but it won't snap into place and will just sit on top. Also it isn't an easy snap, you have to give it a little bit of force, but then it is good and tight. 10/10 would recommend/buy this again.
Good box for MESSY CATS!!!
April 25, 2017
This is a Good litter box for MESSY Kitty's!!! My cats are high pee'ers and throw litter around like they're digging to China!!!! I LOVE my cats but they're some of the messiest cats I've ever seen...no one I know has half the mess we've had to deal with!! We got tired of cleaning up So Much after them! The shield guard on this box is high enough to contain the pee and litter. This box is not a huge box...I'd say its medium size...and I do like that it Doesn't have a top or a dome top...for some reason I noticed that just keeps the smell trapped more. We also bought a piece to camouflage the litter box. We keep our litter box in the hallway as we don't have enough room and all the bedrooms/closets are taken up. We got tired of looking at a litter box all the time in our living space Yiiiick!!!! We got the: ecoFlex Litter Loo, Litter Box Cover/End Table.
And this litter box fits perfectly into it!
Great deal on a litter box
March 20, 2017
Great deal on a litter box. Get the add-on reduced one and you'll save! There is a little dip on the bottom tray that needs to be scraped a little when cleaning, but it's not a big deal for the price. My cat took to it immediately and my 2nd cat that is normally very picky about sharing her box has adopted this as her box as well now and is SHARING with the other kitty. I am going to need more of these! I absolutely LOVE that it comes with a scoop that attaches to the lip for storing! I have been thinking this would have been a great idea for years!!! You can clip it on anywhere along the top side facing inside and the kitties seem to leave it alone now. The very first day they knocked it off once to probably see what it was, but it has not been an issue. The clip also doesn't have to wide of gaps and is smaller so little bits don't fall through as often. I waited a few weeks to post this review to put it to the test and I would definitely purchase it again. GREAT FIND!!!
For perfectionists or just plain neat-freaks:

The perfect method for a pristine cat bathroom:
1. High walls and OPEN top, like this litter box. Don't pay for features that don’t help. For example, A COVERED litter box only REINFORCES HUMAN DENIAL, and “sifting” boxes are harder work. Martha Stewart does not know best in this case.
2. Use FLUSHABLE litter such as World’s Best (made from corn) or Sweat Scoop (made from wheat). Clay litter is harmful because dust can clump in cat’s airways. KEEP LITTER DEPTH MORE THAN 3 INCHES, and you will end up (surprisingly) using LESS cat litter because at this depth, moisture from all directions clumps around the waste (urine balls never touch the sides of the box!). Once you scoop and flush the litter, the odors depart too.
3. Make a HABIT of scooping out and flushing every time you enter the bathroom you will NEVER need any odor-control. As a scientist who loves cats, I advocate employing a law of physics: after you scoop out litter balls, shake the litter box back and forth horizontally several times. This will cause the finer particles to (surprisingly) fall toward the bottom of the litter pan AWAY from your cat’s respiratory system and TOWARD the bottom where you need the most clumping power. Your litter box will be fit for close-up in Better Homes and Gardens.
4. For one or two cats, no need to use more floor space. This medium-size box is plenty, as long as you scoop every time you enter the bathroom.
5. Add a litter-catching mat (the best is patent-pending by Pawkin). Perfect!
I have had ZERO issues with the grooves on the bottom of the pan (but do agree that that is a very poor design). I always keep a

These boxes are a home run!! I have 2 cats (a male and a female) that are just over 7 lbs each and I used to just have one large litter box. The male would not "bury" his poop and it was making me miserable :( He instead would make his burying motions on the sides of the box making lots of noise but not covering his mess... I replaced the big box with two of these boxes and the clouds parted and the angels sang!! Each cat actually favored their own box almost right away (as they do their sitting spots) and all issues have been resolved! I also find that they fling the litter a lot less after each visit.

When they hop out they do track a small amount of litter that is caught by a scrap piece of carpet I placed underneath. No more walking on litter for me!

NOTE: As to the reviews that state the top part of the box doesn't "snap" down, that is incorrect. If you are having this issue you have the box or the top part faced the WRONG way. The entry to the box that should be facing out has the squarish indented shape on the front of it and then of course the top part with the opening facing the front as well. They WILL snap together if you set them up properly.

I have had ZERO issues with the grooves on the bottom of the pan (but do agree that that is a very poor design). I always keep about 4" of litter in the pan so maybe that's why. At the same time I purchased these I also switched the litter for the umpteenth time!!! I switched from World's Best to Ever Clean and all I can say is FINALLY!!!!! I have used every litter under the sun and this is the absolute miracle litter I have been searching for! Absolutely NO SMELL whatsoever... LOVE LOVE this stuff and it works great in these boxes! I also find that the litter is so adequate at clumping that the small scoopers and the bottom pan grooves are no problem whatsoever....

My cats are on the small side so these are perfect but I would probably hesitate to buy them if your cat(s) weighs more than about 9 lbs. You probably could but it would be very tight.

These were such a lucky find and I couldn't be happier!

I think it's partly composed of Dark Matter cus it can't just be the litter that makes it THAT heavy
October 1, 2016
I know this stuff LOOKS like a cheap off-brand from the packaging, but long years of living my life as a miserable, lonely cat person with no romantic prospects has shown me that this stuff is amazing. It has the least dust of any litter I've used, it clumps like concrete, the litter pan remains fresher longer because when you scoop it you are getting more of the actual waste removed from the pan, none of the clumps has crumbled away to mix with the rest of the remaining litter, the clumps remain intact. Be advised, however, the 40 pound bag of this stuff weighs at least 63 pounds more than the 40 pound bag of Tidy Cat. It is the heaviest substance known to man.
Hands down the best pet related purchase I have ever made
September 6, 2016
Hands down the best pet related purchase I have ever made. For the first time in 10 years my house doesn't smell like cat poop.Update: still love, but beware if your cat's paw is wet the litter can form what I can only describe as concrete on their paw. You can imagine the fun we had soaking, chiseling, and cutting it off her hair for days.
The Absolute Best Cat Litter
August 28, 2016
This was the first cat litter I have ever purchased and the only cat litter I will ever purchase. I honestly thought there were better things out there but Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter is the right one for me, my lifestyle, and most importantly, my cat.So as I was getting things to make my house livable for my newly adopted cat, Cerulean, I was researching and trying to figure out what the best cat litter for him would be. I usually purchase things that are best sellers on Amazon so I went ahead and purchased this cat litter. I had no idea how cleaning a litter box, smelling it, and cleaning it would be like. It was hard for me to understand that this cat litter was the best for me. After about 7 months of using it, I tried different brands.I started with Arm and Hammer's Clump and Seal. It was so great at first! The smell was stronger and cleaner, it felt more easier to scoop, and it clumped pretty well. However, the pebbles grew an attraction to my cats fur. He doesn't roll in his litter so I know it wasn't his fault. He's not even a long haired cat. Cerulean is a Russian Blue mix. So I'd feel litter crumbs in the bed, and step on them on the floor throughout the house. I even have 3 separate mats that are supposed to make the litter fall off his paws as he walks out but the Arm and Hammer litter is so fine that it lingers on him.I gave that up and was recommended by my vet to purchase "World's Best Cat Litter." I thought I fell in love with it at first because it was so soft, lightweight, and had a silky smooth feeling as you scooped. But that stuff is actually pretty powdery. It left powdered marks on my sofa, I had to cover it with sheets until the litter finished. I also found that the clumps crumbled, even if I was being super gentle trying to scoop with the scooper. After those experiences, I realized how much I appreciated Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter. Even though it's heavy to carry and scoop, it molds and holds my cats urine and stool, it tames odors, doesn't leave powdered or dust marks, and it lasts me almost 2 months with my single cat. I live in a one bedroom 1 bath 550 sqft apartment. I keep the litter box and a litter genie under the sink which is in the hallway that separates the bedroom, bathroom, and living room. It's been very suitable for my living situation and my cat. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone. Cerulean and I are glad to own this litter.
and I was concerned that my small apartment would smell like a litter box (as many do)
June 27, 2016
My cat Sasha has been using this litter exclusively for about a year and a half now and I have no plans to ever use another litter. It's my first time living on my own with a pet, and I was concerned that my small apartment would smell like a litter box (as many do), and that I'd have to constantly move her box in and out of the shower or the patio to avoid a mess. She did not have any problems adjusting to this from her old litter, which was different in every way.I use this in combination with my Litter Genie in the 1/2 bathroom which is right at my front door, and you wouldn't even know there was a litter box when you walked in. It's so clean that I don't even remove it when I have guests using that bathroom. It's also unscented, which is great and I'm sure is much better for a cat who is constantly cleaning her toes. The grains are very large so I only need to use one mat outside the box and the litter never gets tracked out of the bathroom. She still kicks it around sometimes, though!I always purchase the larger bag, which is 40 lbs, and it usually last me 1.5 to 2 months. I am on my 11th bag since February 2015. I only dispose of the used litter when I'm opening a new bag. It clumps so well that I haven't ever had the feeling that I needed to clean out the box, so I will continue to top it off when it gets low until my bag runs out. I scoop each morning, but only because I want Sasha to have room. I've waited two days before and there is still no smell.I only have one cat but I think that this litter would be great for multi-cat households. This is the first non-flushable litter that I've had and I was concerned that I'm too lazy for a non-flushable, but combined with the Litter Genie I spend about 20 seconds scooping each day, and another 10 minutes to clean out the box each time I buy a new bag. The hardest part is carrying the 40 lb bag from my front door to the bathroom, and the very heavy 2 weeks' worth of pee balls down to the outside dumpster. The first time I emptied the Litter Genie I was so amazed that I had to show everyone I knew! I've included that image as part of the review. The packaging is sometimes perfect and sometimes my box is falling apart as I drag it inside, but that honestly is most likely an issue with my post office. It ships quickly with Amazon Prime and the bag is heavy duty so even if the box is destroyed, I haven't had an issue with the litter spilling. One time my post office would not deliver it because they repeatedly stated they couldn't get in the building. I kept asking them to deliver it and they wouldn't, so eventually they shipped it back to Amazon and I received a full refund.
20 Cats Over 20 Years, 10 Cats Now and This is the Only One for Our Home!
August 9, 2015
COME ON!!! STAY IN STOCK ALREADY!!! I BOUGHT SOME CRAP CAT LITTER CAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING OUT OF STOCK ON AMAZON. I JUST FOUND YOU ON WAL MART SO AMAZON IS LOSING BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU PUT WAL MART FIRST. NO ONE COMPARES TO THIS CAT LITTER, SO FIGURE OUT YOUR DISTRIBUTION IF YOU CARE ABOUT US AND STAY IN STOCK ON AMAZON.Over 15 years using this for 20 cats, and I still can't find a better one anywhere! Until Precious Cat came to Amazon, it was pure MISERY going to PetSmart and buying 10-15 bags of the 40 lb. litter at a time. I had to beg my buddy to come over and get them from my car and carry them into the house. The day Dr. Elsey decided to come to Amazon AND offer Prime Members free shipping made my life SO MUCH easier!PetSmart was barely carrying it anymore, so I had to try other litters. None of them compared to the clumping power and lack of smell this amazing litter offers--not one. The fu fu smelling litters aren't always safe for cats with recurring urinary tract infections and stones, and none of them clumped like Precious Cat.I would say I tried the Cat Attract when this price went up to a ridiculous amount because they were probably short on supply. But with the 10 cats I have now (the others passed away mostly at 20 years old), they are all really great about using the litterbox. I found absolutely no difference and would not pay the higher price for Cat Attract.I even trained my two mini pins to go in the same boxes as my cats--the boy and girl--and they go in them all the time! I have 9 boxes, some of which are large clothing containers you can store clothes in with the lid. I took the lid off and cut out a large opening in the front for my larger cats. But I can't do without this litter and free shipping!!! You guys save me every day, and my cats are happy. I can't thank you enough!I've added a few pics of some of my "kids" so you can see they are pretty content and happy (spoiled) cats :) My two smaller min pins go in the litterboxes you can see in the last picture.
Add some activated carbon to this product and you've got a perfect cat litter
March 2, 2014
The problem: My cats have been using Fresh Step Extreme Odor Control Scoopable Cat Litter (scented or unscented) for a long, long, long time. The problem with that brand is the EXTREME dust problem that gets on everything inside the house due to the central air conditioning/heating system. And that problem has worsened over time as I have adopted more stray cats or cats that have lost their home. More cats using more cat litter boxes creates even more EXTREME dust problems. You can change out the central air filters all you want, but the dust is just too fine for the filters to catch all of that stuff. :(The solution: Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter has solved the dust problem! I started switching over some cat litter boxes to Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter in December 2013 without any of my cat family objecting to the new cat litter. The dust problem is disappearing as my inventory of the other brand of cat litter is depleted. I am EXTREMELY pleased, and I am sure the cats are happier not having to breath the dust from the other brand. :)I have read some reviews on Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter on this website that have suggested adding activated carbon to the cat litter to help with odor control. I second the suggestion, and have recently started adding a capful of Marineland Black Diamond Activated Carbon in the 40-ounce size container to a full bag of Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter. That seems to be about as much carbon that I see in the previous brand purchased, and the activated carbon is very effective in helping control slight odor over time that remains in the cat litter even after removal of clumped used litter. It's nice when you're searching around on Amazon.com to see if there is a solution to a problem one is having. Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter has solved an EXTREME dust problem in my house. Another of life's problems solved.

This toy is amazing, and absolutely worth the cost
September 10, 2017
This toy is amazing, and absolutely worth the cost.My cat did not care at ALL about any toys before this one. We thought she was the laziest cat in the world since she showed no interest in anything aside from food. Finally, we discovered the only thing she enthusiastically played with was a piece of elastic we had laying around. It was only about 5 inches long - so not the most convenient thing to use as a toy - especially when she got enthusiastic about it. We realized that her "thing" was string. So we bought this toy for less than $3 which is essentially a 4 foot long stretchy fleece-like fabric string on a stick. She LOVES it, and finally we're able to engage her consistently and immediately. She's happier, more energetic, and loves "hunting" the moving string. The length also makes it super easy for us to use and manipulate. It's quite literally the ONLY toy she plays with and she loves grabbing it, biting it, and being rough with it. And it's still completely in one piece with little damage. Good quality! Will definitely buy another when she manages to actually destroy it.
And old favorite that pepped up my old cat
March 6, 2017
I bought this when we were having some problems introducing a new, young cat to our older cat. I bought a Cat Dancer back when our older cat was a kitten and remembered how he used to practically soar through the air playing with this thing. I figured if he liked it so much maybe our new cat would like it, too. Surprisingly, our 16-year-old cat STILL LOVES playing with this! I couldn't believe it. He hasn't played with toys in years and years. I feel kinda guilty not having this toy around all this time. It's so fun to see his old kitten side emerge again. He doesn't play with it as long or quite as gymnastically ;) but he plays and it's a joy to see.
Great toy but my cat is scared of it now
March 1, 2017
My cat loved this toy for the first few days. He is only 2 but was acting like a kitten again when we started playing with this. Then one day my boyfriend was twirling this around to get my cat to play with it and accidentally hit my cat's eye, and he promptly ran away and hid. Now, whenever I pull this toy out, he will play with it for 2.2 seconds and then runs and hides in his "fort", every single time. So, he's basically conditioned himself to fear this toy which sucks, because he really liked it at first!I do recommend this toy, it's made well and the cloth strip is really long, just make sure you don't hit your cat in the eye with it!*Disclaimer: my cat and his eye are doing well*
THIS IS THE TOY MOST ALL CAT PERSONALITIES LOVE
June 15, 2016
A TOY MOST ALL CAT PERSONALITIES LOVE! If your cat loves to play, you cannot go wrong with this toy!I have purchased several of these over the past few years and my cats continuously play with them! I have four inside cats and they absolutely love their "Dancing" toy. This is one toy that they have actually played with for over 3 years now and still love. One cat runs and jumps on her condo to try to catch in the air, while others will jump up to catch and/or attacks it while I drag on the floor.it is important to play with your cats to bond better with them, among other reasons, my cats also play with these without any encouragement. I will sometimes come home, or wake up and find they have been dragged out of their toy basket into different rooms of the house. Sometimes my youngest will even bring one to me with her little "meow" to play with her.I have had no issues with the quality of these from either of the sellers I have purchased from, they have all been excellent quality and the same material. I HIGHLY recommend for kitties of ALL ages - AND highly recommend to have at least one for each cat!
My kittens love it
October 26, 2013
My kittens are just crazy about it every night. Light in weight and nice color for photo taking as well.
simple things are best
December 6, 2011
when I took this out of the packaging, I was very skeptical of its entertainment value...simply a long piece of wildly colored fleece material held onto a plastic rod by an end cap made out of yet more plastic. Having just purchased some pretty sophisticated cat toys, (peek-a-boo box, crazy panic undercover mouse, crinkle tunnel, laser toys), I thought this cat charmer would fall by the wayside. Not so. As I removed it from the packaging, my two 3 month old kittens materialized out of nowhere, two pairs of eyes wide as saucers staring the toy down, little bodies tense and trembling with barely contained excitement as they waited for it to do something...then when I moved it around a bit, there was such an explosion of ferocious energy as they tried to snare it in their paws, teeth, and wrestle it to the floor...even if it is just lying around, one of them will drag it while the other pounces on its sinuously trailing ribbon. It has remained their favorite toy, whenever I move it, they are totally there to pick up the game with the same degree of intensity as the last time I had it out. If you only buy one toy for your cat, it should be this one, and don't be surprised when this simple little thing becomes your pet's favorite!

Kitty and I are very happy with her new litter box!
June 6, 2017
I have a new kitty, and she thinks she's a civil engineer: this tiny creature would leave mountains of kitty litter outside her litter box. For decades, I've used disposable aluminum roasting pans for kitty litter boxes: 99 cents if I bought them at Thanksgiving, and no more scrubbing the kitty litter pan: I would just trash both the pan and the litter. However, this wasn't working for New Kitty: there was as much kitty litter on the floor beside her litter pan was there was in it (thank goodness I was able to keep the box in a bathroom with a tiled floor). So, the obvious solution was higher sides. I loved this combination, as it wasn't as claustrophobic as the boxes with a roof. However, here's the best part: I've been using this box for weeks, and I still haven't had to put on the sides: the increased height of the base is working perfectly. True, there are a few grains here and there outside the box, but these are super-easy to clean up with my Dust-Buster. I like the scoop, as it is the same style I've been using for years. One solution for those who are having trouble with sticky deposits on the pan bottom or sides is always to keep several inches of kitty litter in the pan. This is really important. I know that it may seem more economical to keep only a thin layer of kitty litter in the pan, but this just invites deposits, which leads to more scrubbing, which leads to more dumping, which leads to much more use of kitty litter! On the other hand, if you keep several inches of litter in the pan, you'll have fewer sticky deposits and, therefore, you'll need to clean the pan MUCH less frequently and will, in the end, use a lot less kitty litter.
Assault by free-flying litter particles, but totally a great price.
April 24, 2017
Well, kudos on price. I seriously couldn't have gotten a better deal in price for the value I received. That being said, it does absolutely nothing for the litter that comes off my cat's paws when he so gracefully leaps out of the box after bestowing and burying his precious gifts for me to find in the litter. I mean, to be fair, this wasn't an expectation that I thought I'd need my litter boxes to meet. But after the way my cat leaps out of the box like Superman about six times a day (which is totally unnecessary by the way because he could easily walk straight out the entrance), I realized this is an expectation every cat owner should probably have for their litter boxes.I can't even tell you how far the litter goes. I'm not sure if it's because he's jumping so high, or because he lands on the hardwood floor like a boss, but when he makes his descent back down to Earth two things happen: First, during his initial gravity-defying leap, the litter still on his paws shoots up in the air with rocket-like propulsion. I mean, the litter is going so fast that if I see him ready to exit, I give him the right away even if I was there first because there's no sense in being assaulted by free-flying litter particles in what you thought was a safe walk across the room. And when I say the litter shoots off his paws, I mean it shoots in every direction possible for no less than a length of 20 feet, because that's exactly what happens. Second, as if this airborne assault of litter pebbles isn't enough, when he lands on my hardwood floor it's like he brings half of the litter in the box with him. No joke, half the box. I kept trying to tell him that he'd have more fresh litter in his boxes if he stopped insisting on bringing it with him with every exit he makes, but as time passes I am starting to think this is an entirely sinister plot to establish dominance over me, his human.I mean, I think my cat is happy with the purchase at least.
Perfect "bonus" box, But not great "main" box
October 27, 2016
This was purchased as a "bonus" box for when I take my kitten inside my parents home (and out of the mini-apartment in my parents' backyard where I stay). That being said, I love it for having an extra litter box, I would not recommend for a main litter box. Here's why:

1) When you pick it up or go to move it, the top pops off. This is an easy fix, but it doesn't stay together near as well as the "main" litter box I have
2) There are nooks and crannies that litter can easily get trapped in around the edges of the box, which can make cleaning difficult. Around the edges and the corners, there are dips (they can somewhat be seen in the product image on the outside, and just be aware that they are on the inside as well)
3) The accompanying scoop, while handy because it attaches to the top rim of the litter box, has REALLY large holes that allow used litter and "chunks" to escape. The slits / holes are probably 2-3 times larger than normal litter scoop slits, and the actually scoop part is about half the size of a regular scoop as well.

All in all, for the price it's a great deal, but don't expect saving the money to come without pit-falls. For my needs, it is perfect, but that might not be the case for others.
Great value & height; little short for the "big boned" felines
June 4, 2015
The height of the litter box walls are great, especially for my cat who is on a mission to dig her way to the center of the earth. And you can't beat the price. However, I would pay more for it to be a bit longer. Larger cats don't have a ton of room to get all the way in and turn about, as you can sort of see from the very undignified photo I've attached.
Litter-ly a Good Box
March 24, 2012
It's been cat tested .. and then tested ... and then ... oh my gawd what did you EAT? Tested. It works. My cats are all tall to mid-lard sized little heifers. I was having issues with 2 of them - Sammi the Weasel likes to stick her butt out the front of the box and pee all over the floor. Yoda Boda likes to dig a hole to China then scratch the walls down to fill said hole in (this goes on FOREVER) all while making sure everything in 20 foot radius is equally covered in litter for good measure, then he plunks his butt down right in the center to pee before bolting out like lightning just smacked him which serves his nefarious purpose of making litter trails across the entire house as he completely avoids touching down on the litter mats. Pepper Spray can contain herself and her bizniz to a box but she dislikes the openness of regular ones ... however she's a wee bit umm, FAT, for a regular hooded box.

I checked out the expensive pet stores (you know the ones!) and they did not have anything that would meet all 3 of my precious sugar woogums cow sized elimination habits. Then I ordered Iris CLH-12 Open-Top Litter Box with Shield and Scoop, installed it between my shower & human litter box and voila! Problems mostly solved. Sammi the Weasel can no longer shove her butt out the front edge, Pepper Spray doesn't look like an awkward fat-ass stuffed in a tiny box, and Yoda Boda isn't flinging excavation treasures like a Tasmanian devil all over the entire room.

The box lid is a little awkward because of the weird small area of where it barely clips onto the box. If you got sprayers or super high pee-ers, this will be a problem. It might accommodate bags easier than a regular hooded box, however I don't know that for sure, I haven't tried it with a bag yet since my demon-boy just shreds them into "sifter" bags anyway. He hasn't been able to ninja-kick it off yet, so yay!

The included scoop is SMALL, but it has a cool handle hook that allows it to hook onto the lid of the box or open-hood. But hey, the scoop is a bonus and what cat poop-scooping person doesn't already have like 5 of those things anyway?

The size is okay, its designed high not super lengthy or extra wide. It works, but it could be bigger which would make it more comfortable for my canine sized fur balls. Its only slightly wider than my regular litter box [very slightly]. If you are looking for a high sided wider one, check out one that looks like a baby bath tub (seriously it does), but you pretty much need fur balls with no litter box issues to brave a non-hood design [if you got one ... you could make a killing in breeding it!].

In short, if you need a hood with out the ceiling and don't have super high pee-ers/sprayers, this design will work. It's high enough to contain, but doesn't brush my butt and freak me out when I'm doing my bizniz either [its right beside my toilet, I'm not using the litter box I swear].

Odorless and Fantastic
March 16, 2017
I don't normally give reviews on these types of items however, we love this litter! My boyfriend absolutely hates the smell of litter like Arm and Hammer and those types, so we were on a mission to find the opposite of that, and we found it! There is no scent to the litter and it also masks the kitty aftermath. Granted, we have a great litter box but this litter truly does it's job. The consistency is great too, she doesn't seem to track it all over the place.I would have given a 5 star review but I was surprised to see that the bag I ordered a month ago has doubled in price. The packaging has changed and that could be a factor, but to literally double your price? I was kind of surprised to see that as a consumer. I love the product and will continue to buy it, but I thought that was a lame decision to be perfectly frank. Hopefully this packaging takes a strain off of the delivery person because it was SO heavy!!First time buyers, just get this litter, it's a game changer.
Why can't there be consistence pricing OR subscription?
July 18, 2016
I've bought this litter multiple times and it is great - the only thing that bothers me is that this litter gets everywhere but less than other brands. Another issue is the PRICE - I've seen this kitty litter jump up and down from 16 to 40 to 16 to 40. Why can't there be consistence pricing OR subscription? especially since it is something that people purchase regularly.
I have multiple cats and I loved this liter and the price
July 17, 2016
I have multiple cats and I loved this liter and the price! However, the price has gone from about $17 per 40 pound bag to $35 per bag and no longer Amazon Prime for free shipping!!! What happened??!!

I originally gave this a TERRIBLE review because of the horrible odor control of this product but I was wrong.I had to change my original review and am offering an apology to the company, and to those who may have been swayed by my terrible review. I'm not one to broadcast details of my life to strangers and don't understand why so many people do. I am here because I felt it was the right thing to do.SO... I stopped using this litter and the odor remained. I was dumbfounded. She used to have accidents when I first got her because of the abuse from her previous owner. It's been at least two years since her last "episode", so I assumed it was the litter's fault. It turns out that my cat started peeing on the mat I have under the litterbox. I left for the weekend right after changing the litter. I guess that was too much change for her. I really don't know what triggered her. I've changed litters numerous times in the past in my search for the "perfect" litter, have left for more than two days (with automatic food and water) a bunch of times over the years and she hasn't reacted negatively to any of that. There was a thunderstorm that weekend too, so maybe it was all too much for her. I dunno. She's fine now. After cleaning with Nature's Miracle (#NaturesMiracleRocks) :o) I placed another order for it, and VOILA! No odor, VERY low tracking, and it's dust-free!I would have given it a full 5 star review if it had SOME kind of scent. It's more psychological I guess since it doesn't really need it. It just feels odd not having a scent. Like it isn't fresh or something. (I know it sounds crazy, but it's my honest opinion)I now buy some litter freshener additive stuff and lightly sprinkle it into the litter. So it does cost a bit more than most litters, plus I buy that powder stuff which raises the cost even higher, but it's really worth it.. This is a GREAT litter!
Does not work for one of my cats
January 30, 2016
Update: I downgraded this cat litter to 4 stars (2-20-2016)This issue may be only my cat's problem. One of my cats used to be an outdoor cat and after I moved she had to become an inside cat. This cat litter does not work for her. She keeps digging in the litter as if she expected to find a treasure. She has never demonstrated this kind of behavior with any kind of other litter. In short - won't be using this cat litter anymore. I can't have my cat spend more time than necessary in her litter box. My other cat does not dig in the cat litter for fun. [I adopted him when he was 4 yrs old and don't know if used to be an outside at any time. Since he is with me he is not.]~*~I must admit when the cat litter arrived and I first filled it into the litter pan I was disappointed. While I am not sure what I expected, to me this litter did not seem superior or outstanding in any way. Personally, I prefer the "natural" litters made from wood chips, corn husks, or any type of plant material. To me this litter seemed to "unattractive little stones/sand."But, it's not for me. My two cats, Artemis and Yin-Yang are supposed to like it - and they do; they love it. I have two big litter boxes for my cats and each cat considers one of the litter boxes their territory. Artemis is the alpha-female. I adopted her first and she believes that she is the books of this house-hold. Ying-Yang is sweet and accepts her as the boss.As it was, I exchanged only the litter in Artemis litter box, because Yin-Yang's was fresh; I had just changed it the day before the new litter arrived. To my utter surprise Yin-Yang began using Artemis litter box. This is so out of his temperament. In one and a half years he has never used Artemis litter box because he knows that she considers it her territory. Twice I saw him standing in front of both litter boxes, checking if Artemis wasn't anywhere close and then use hers. This went down like in one of these famous TV-commercials.In the three days both cats used only the litter box with the new litter, the Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat litter.Even though I still don't like the little stone/sand character I have to say - it's dust free and because it is heavier, my cats don't carry it through the house as much.Cat approved - thus mom is going to buy it.Gisela Hausmann, author & blogger
What's with the price increases? Great litter but not worth $30 + shipping
January 29, 2016
This litter is great. Probably one of the best I've used and I've tried all the kinds you can get at stores like target/Walmart/etc.Clumping: clumps are very strong and rarely break apart.Odor control: I live in a small town house so odor control is important. This stuff didn't cut it, but I add activated carbon chunks to the litter and it does a great job.Dust: it's a little dusty, but there are some others that are wayyyy worse (arm and hammer). There is usually dust on the rim of the box and I wipe it off every week.Price: this used to be $15 shipped through prime, but now it's $30 + $6 shipping. At that cost I'll look into other options, but I wish I could continue buying it at $15 for 40 pounds.

Unleash your cats inner jungle cat
August 13, 2017
This toy is surprisingly long compared to some of the other wand toys we have for our cats. My two year old cat is terrified of it. He was an outdoor cat for the first three months before we found him, and we have a theory that something happened to him involving a snake. He loves all our other wand toys, but bring this one out and he runs for the hills. Our kitten loves it. Her inner huntress comes out and she goes wild. The longer length means that she runs all over the place chasing after it. It's a perfect toy for her.
Even better than expected!
June 18, 2017
This is great! The wand itself is way longer than any of the other toys I've tried, and I really appreciate that when I've got a cat who sometimes goes for my hands instead of the toy, haha. The strip of fleece is also really really long, and while that can make it a bit difficult to move it quickly, the long wand portion does help account for that somewhat.
Great for tiring out your cat
April 18, 2017
My cat went crazy for this right out of the package. My only complaint is that it's a little too long. Once your cat catches it, it's impossible to pull it away without it feeling like it's going to break away from the stick. Overall, pleased with purchase.
Why do cats love this thing so much??
November 12, 2016
I had seen tons of reviews on this and knew I had to get one for my new kitten. Just as expected, it was a hit with my kitty. I'm not sure what makes it such a hit, but cats just love this thing. The only negative is that the string came detached from the stick pretty quickly. I might try to reattach it to the stick once I find it (I just discovered the ribbon on the floor today without the stick). Considering this is just a plastic stick with a piece of flannel string material attached to the end, I expect that it will do it's only job of staying together. Other than that, this is a must-have for any cat owner!
Great as long as you pay attention
August 20, 2015
Any cat that likes wands/teasers is going to like this. It has a basic, but sturdy construction made up of a generously long, skinny, plastic "handle" which is durable (I stepped on it by accident and it didn't break) and is not hollow. The handle reminds me of a skinnier, more flexible version of that clear thing on blinds that lets you adjust how open there are. The flicky part is made of a very long (maybe three feet) of stretch fuzzy material. It reminds me of jersey sheets, only fuzzier, really like fleece. My kitten is a little over five months and he absolutely LOVES this toy. I enjoy how he runs and jumps to catch it and then is tired out and will go to sleep at bedtime. So, why then only four stars? This toy must be heavily supervised because it easily wraps around paws, tails and their necks. I will have to stop to untangle my kitten because I'm afraid he will be strangled. I know this makes the toy sound really awful, but as long as you're watching as you play with them and stop when they get tangled, it should be completely fine. It's long enough to protect your hands and it wiggles in nice, attractive patterns for cats/kittens. It also knots up a bit, but it's easy to unknot after you're done playing with it.
Its not the laser pointer, but its still a hit!
June 22, 2015
This will keep my young male cat busy for a good while. I keep it in a drawer, and when he sees me reach towards that drawer to take it out, he squeals with excitement, and starts jumping up and down. Wet food is the only other thing that gets him this excited. I think he enjoyed it more, back when he was under 10 months, but he still enjoys chasing it around a bit, and will jump up to swing at it when I hold it over him. Every time he catches it, he tries to do an "alligator death roll," which gets him all tangled, like with yarn. After three or four mins, he tends to get tired of chasing it, so I just let him play with it, and then I'll grab it again a few minutes later and we repeat the game.I do wish it was a *little* bit shorter, for when I get him to jump for it, but that is a minor quip. Some people have complained that the fleece string will break eventually, but I've had it for nearly a year and it is still holding up perfectly. Of course, I don't leave it lying around for him to play with all day long. I put it away, so he's always happy every time I break it out. Another reviewer mentioned that this toy could be a choking hazard. I could certainly see that, which is also why I put it away. I try not to leave him unattended with it for too long. When I do leave him alone with it for a few minutes, I'll see him walk by, totally twisted up in the string, with the stick dragging behind. This has never seemed to stress him out, and I simply unwind him, and we play with it again!

Litter gets stuck in recessed portion along the bottom
August 8, 2017
My main issue with this litter box is that it has a raised middle portion on the bottom which means the litter gets stuck in the groove and is very hard to clean without emptying all the litter. The other issue is that the cut out portion is small and my fat cat doesn't fit through it, so he just pees outside the box and walks away. Bless him for trying though, I guess. I had to take the lid off so now litter gets kicked all over the floor. The only one that uses the box is my thin cat, and he doesn't care for it that much either. The scoop that comes with it is cute, but can't handle heavy clumps and I can feel it bending back when I try to use it to scrap the bottom.
These are way too small for big cats pooping pleasure.
May 12, 2017
I'm giving this a solid 3 stars because while I LOVEd the idea, the boxes weren't big enough for my cats (width and length of the boxes). I bought 2 of them and used for oh about two weeks they were difficult to clean with the channel on the bottom of the box. Urine pools there and to get the clumping litter out you have to take the splash guard off. Doesn't seem that rough to take it off but if I wanted to continue taking the top off I would have stuck with my old standard house litter boxes. Anyway, I have gone from these little $6 guys to taking 2 clear $8 large flat bottom tote cut a hole out of the front and we are using those instead they seem to be working great and only a few dollars more...better yet no top or sides to take off to clean and they are plenty large. If you have a large cat don't get these they would be perfect for kittens or up to two year old cats.
It's Ok.
April 20, 2017
The little box works fine except for the front. Like a lot of the reviewers, trying to get dirty litter from the two front corners is a problem. There is a groove and the corner extends out a bit so it is hard to use a scoop to get into the corner. My cat for some reason only pees in the front so the corners are wet litter which makes it even more difficult. I don't know why the inside isn't completely circular, maybe they just wanted it to look different. It's fine besides the front, I would purchase a different one if I had to do it again though.
Could use some design changes
April 10, 2017
This is an okay litter box. The pluses are that it is relatively cheap. It has the easily removable clear part (to keep the litter inside) for washing. Size is pretty small if you have limited space and need a smaller litter box. I bought two. This one and one in another in a different color. I have four cats using two litter boxes, and I clean the boxes 2-3 times per day using these. It wasn't as much of an issue when I had two larger boxes. Here are my recommendations to the company to improve this product1. Make a version that is larger, and maybe with an even higher clear barrier because, although it seems to cut down on litter that gets scattered, it doesn't really help with the overall dust. I guess you almost have to go to a completely enclosed litter box to cut back on the dust that gets on everything in the room.2. You can see from the picture how at the front, in the bottom part, there is a reset and two little areas on the right and left that jut out. Well, try getting urine clumps out of there using a regular scooper. You can't. I have to use a separate little tool thingy to loosen the urine that's in there as my scooper can't get in there. So, the company should just make the front completely straight across. I won't buy these again as long as it's designed this way.3. Now, the box does come with a small scooper that is a little narrower than most - I guess so you can get into those corners a little easier. However, the holes in it are so large that it only picks up the largest clumps, so I have to use another scooper that has smaller holes. That little scooper that's included might be okay if they would make the holes 1/3 as large.
Good pan. Wall high enough for "high peeing" cats
January 26, 2017
Good little litter pan. Walls are high enough to keep my "high peeing" cat's urine inside. Only gave 3 stars because the lid doesn't lock onto the base, and urine will sometimes leak trough the sides. My cat doesn't knock the top off, but I could see where a cat jumping in and out could easily knock it out of place. Have to be very careful when lifting. Sometimes some urine gets between the top and the bottom and leaks through, but not always, and not as much as other pans have leaked. Also, the inside had some raised areas around the corners that make scooping a little more difficult than it needs to be, should be smooth all the way around. I like that the notched area for entry is only on the top, so it helps keel the litter in the box and not on the floor, and my cat is a digger. Overall I am very please with this pan, especially for the price. With a couple improvements, this could be the perfect cat pan.
The bottom is not flat!
July 21, 2016
I have only been using this for a week and it seems ok so far. The sides are a nice height to keep the litter in, but I have a major issue with the design. The bottom is not flat! The bottom center portion is raised up a small amount higher than the inch around the walls making it so much harder to scoop. Plus, the scoop that comes with it is pretty much useless. It is a very small scoop with large holes so you spend forever scooping just to have everything but solid waste and big clumps fall through.

I don't like the harsh perfumes of scented litter but this is ...
March 24, 2017
Not any different from regular unscented litter. The size of the litter seems extremely varied. Some big pieces, some tiny pieces. It's not 100% dust free, there is definitely some dust because of the smaller pieces. For it being unscented, you can smell urine and feces for up to 3 hours after the fact. Doesn't matter how well the cat buries it. I don't like the harsh perfumes of scented litter but this is definitely worse. As for clumping, I didn't notice it clumping better than any litter at the same price range. It does seal to the bottom of a plastic litter box and has to be chipped at with a metal scooper to dislodge. For the price, I wouldn't buy it again. It didn't impress me.
40 lb. bag is way too heavy for me to handle!
March 6, 2017
While this is a very good price for what I consider to be the best cat litter, this will be the last time I order a 40 lb bag of it. Opening it, and dumping half of it into the litter box, will be a job only my husband will be able to do, so from now on I'll just stick with the regular 18 lb bags. Something this heavy should really be in a box, otherwise not only is it too heavy to handle but the risk of spillage is too great.
Very heavy, low volume
February 7, 2017
Have not used this yet but thought it would be a great buy. I think I paid $13, assuming this might be 5 times as much volume as my usual litter. Of course, it is 40 lbs, but keep in mind that's because it is very heavy. For volume, my usual Petco refillable is just as economical. I will update if I have any comments about performance or dust. Bag arrived unharmed in spite of a smashed box.
Not sure if maybe my male cat has super pee or what...
October 13, 2016
Wish 3.5 stars was an option. I'm a first time cat owner and have been using this product for about two years, since adopting my two cats as kittens. It isn't dusty (which I guess is an issue?). Not sure if maybe my male cat has super pee or what but he likes to go against the edge of the box. In these situations it clumps poorly and results in HUUUUUUUUUUUGE chunks of wet litter the consistency of cement. It then breaks apart when scooping and turns into a mess. There haven't really been litter box issues so I guess I'd say they like it, which is why I am hesitant to try anything else and continue to use it. I don't really notice the smell too much, but I also clean the boxes daily.
Great litter. It does track but not as bad ...
September 16, 2016
Great litter. It does track but not as bad as some others. And it does stick to the bottom but the best by far for odor control. I add active charcoal and there is no smell at all. Try to order this separate.. as it was packaged with another item that could have been damaged. Also my second order of this arrived with the bag inside open a little and litter all over the place.Update*** I still love this litter but what I don't like is the price being jacked up almost triple. Good way to lose customers right there. Star drop due to that sales practice
Good product, but reluctant to ever purchase again...
August 11, 2016
I've purchased this cat litter multiple times and I have found it is a really great product and probably the best cat litter that I have used so far. However, I opened the most recent bag that I purchased, began to pour it into the litter box and found a dead, dried out mouse inside the bag of cat litter. I am reluctant to ever buy this product again after this. The mouse was packaged inside the bag of cat litter and did not come from my house or the cat. Three stars only because it is a good quality product, but the mouse inside ruined it for me.

I wouldnt pay too much for this item
June 21, 2017
its okay, basically stick is fragile clear plastic and string is a strip of fleece. Cat liked it but doesn't seem very durable. For the price it does its job.
Fun but not safe
May 6, 2017
This really is an awesome cat toy, but not very safe. My 1 year old Siberian loves playing with this, but was able to bite off about a 6 inch long piece and ate it... luckily he got sick and was okay after that but I was surprised how easily the piece just ripped off (I didn't have time to stop him from eating it) Definitely don't leave it where the cat can access it alone and be careful if your cat is an intense player!
Our cat usually loves "stick toys" as we call them ...
April 22, 2017
Our cat usually loves "stick toys" as we call them, but she is not a fan of this one. The stick itself is normal size but the fabric is extremely long and I think its a little intimidating to her. We are going to try cutting the fabric to a shorter length to see if that helps!
Cat loves it, but pretty flimsy
January 7, 2017
Wow, my cat loves this toy. He isn't really fond of toy mice or balls but for some reason this really catches his eye. The stretchy-ness of the string itself really ads some fun when playing with you cat as well as I often find myself playing "tug-of-war" with my cat. My only complaint would be the flimsy plastic stick it comes attached to. First of all, the string itself is attached to the stick and came apart almost instantly. After I put it back together (with healthy amount of hot glue). Second, just a few days after having it, the plastic snapped in half. However, I still play with my cat with toy because he does seem to love it so much.
cheap raw materials=high-profit-margin cat toy -- fun for some cats, not for others
August 13, 2014
Be aware that this is essentially 8 cents worth of plastic rod with 4 cents worth of rubber attaching 2 cents of a stretchy fleece strip to the plastic rod. As such, it is ridiculously overpriced and the profit margin on such a cheap-to-manufacture product must be gargantuan. I don't mean that it is cheaply *made*; it has held together well. But it is made of such cheap *raw materials*, that the price is basically insulting.Due to the nature of polyester fleece, the fleece strip will stretch to 3-4 times its original length the first time you play with your cat with it. After that, it does not shrink back. The end result is a toy where the "toy" end is 5-6 times the length of the "handle."That being said, my little fat cat loves to play with it. If I swish it along the floor, or in the air, he gets quite excited by this and wants to pounce on it. However, my little old man cat is not that interested. They both go nuts for the OTHER Cat Dancer, which is basically a piano wire with cardboard thingies that jiggle and entice the cats (also cheap material and overpriced, but lots less than this one). But only fatty loves this toy. It does get him moving, though, which is the point. The bad thing is he likes it so much, that when I put it away when we're done playing with it, he likes to "hunt" for it and take it down. I've caught him twice, carrying it around by the fleece. I have to keep it on top of the refrigerator now -- which has no other tall or near-tall objects on it -- so he can't get up there and get it himself. He's already gotten it down twice from the tops of medium height book cases. I'd be afraid of him swallowing the fleece or eating it, if he plays with it unsupervised. Probably a storage ottoman or drawer that he can't open would be a better place to hide it when we're not using it. for now, the top of the fridge will have to do.
Not one of my cats' favorite toys
December 22, 2012
My cats love Da Bird Cat Toy - Easy Store - 2 Part Pole, but there was an incident where one of my cats got the string wrapped around her leg. She flew all over the house in a panic until she could finally be untangled. They absolutely love Da Bird, so I wanted to get something similar that would be less likely to cause a repeat episode. Unfortunately, they just aren't as enthralled by the Cat Dancer as they are with Da Bird. I assume that it may have something to do with the way the feather on Da Bird bounces around like prey. The Cat Dancer only keeps their attention for a few minutes before they get bored. It's so inexpensive, and obviously lots of other reviews here attest to this toys' positive qualities, so I assume cats are more likely to enjoy this to than not.

Hard to clean corners! Can't scoop there so anything clumped is not coming out easily!! Makes it not pleasant to clean.
July 21, 2017
I bought this as a short term box to help switch my cat to a different type of litter, I didn't want to risk her deciding to pee on the floor rather than in the one with 2 types of litter mixed together! It did it's job but was immediately relegated back to just being a backup! I'm glad it was really cheap. The problem is that the corners are VERY hard to get clean! It's impossible to scoop there, and when you're dumping it and/or washing it out, it's difficult to get it properly clean in those corners. And if you're using a clumping litter? If the cat pees near those corners, that's not going anywhere without a lot of effort. The litter box we have is actually a great one which doesn't have ANY hard corners which makes it super easy to scoop everything out. The boxy edges of this wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the weird hard to get at corners. I would not recommend to anyone.
The "pretty RED" one...
March 19, 2017
There are very few things I like about this litter box. What I do like is, the slick coating, which makes it easier to to scoop. Also the high shield on top. Oh yeah, & the color red. (which I will get to shortly). What I absolutely HATE about this litter box is, the stupid design, which has the bottom ends of the box recessed. So when you have to scoop when they pee there, it's VERY hard to get it out. I'm cursing every time I'm scooping, which is quite a lot of times a day. It's also smaller than I thought. Now about the "pretty red" color. When I was looking for a litter box, I saw this one for $6.21.... So I thought. So I clicked on it to look at it, & decided to purchase it. Then I noticed there were other colors than the blue I was 1st looking at. There was also grey & red. So I LOVED the red one, & clicked on that. Then I was done with my order of this RED litter box & other stuff, so I proceeded to check out. A couple days later, I went to check the status of my shipment, and it hadn't started to ship. That's when I noticed the price of the pretty RED box, and was shocked to see the $6.21 was $21.00!! I didn't understand why. So I looked further into it, thinking there has to be something more fantastic about the pretty RED box. Well, there WASN'T. I could have bought almost 4 of these boxes for what the pretty RED box cost. So why would the same exact litter box cost $14.79 more than the blue or grey one? And this order took 10 days to get here! I am not happy at all with this whole thing. Needless to say, I would NEVER buy it again, & say to anyone else wanting to buy it, 1. don't go for the pretty red one, & 2. don't buy even the other one of the colors, unless you want to be trying to dig out from the recessed areas. btw, like I said earlier, it's smaller than I thought, so when my cats go in there, even the ones that are 9 months old, & they pee, it goes in the recessed area.
Nope...

Two stars because it is a quality product, nice and deep for cats that like to dig. However, the design is poor in general. First, the box is SMALL! It's not ideal for cats larger than about 9lbs. tops in my opinion. Next, the side guards are not all one continuous piece (it snaps on) so that you can use a liner if desired, but the guard doesn't snap into place securely, it is loose and leaves the gap between the box and the side guard, so if you have male cats or cats that don't squat when they pee, all the urine will run down the side guard and get stuck where it attaches to the bottom of the box. This problem causes it to leak out all over the floor and also smell. I don't recommend this box for these reasons.
Works well with the high sides but the inside bottom is a pain
February 6, 2017
I like the tall sides compared to other boxes with a litter guard...I like that I can clean the box without taking off the lid compared to the totally enclosed boxes.....the size fits better in my laundry room compared to the extra large box I had... What I do not like: there is a raised floor in the middle with a channel running around the entire inside of the box which makes it very difficult to get moist litter out. Also, on the front, the middle is inset which leaves a groove on either side which also makes it difficult to clean....I use scoop-able litter so to help with wet litter getting trapped in the crevasses I fill the box 2/3rds full and try to keep it that way. I also have a cat that pees up the back side and it leaks out the back no matter what type of box I use. To prevent that, I roll up a paper towel and put it in between the lid and box. (It is important to make sure to press the sides to get it to clip together) I change it when it gets wet. It helps prevent pee from leaking to the floor. I also put puppy training pads under the bottom of the box.....Over all this is a useful box I just wish the inside bottom was completely flat. Then could give it 5 stars and I would be a very, very happy buyer and would buy these again. As it is, I will use them for a while then go back to the Van Ness enclosed boxes. So it has only been a month - replacing these with Van Ness....These are awful with the raised middle. Also, the Van Ness have a much higher base.
Not as long as advertised - doesn't fit my cat
January 11, 2017
I really wanted to like it, but even the length of the outside of the box (including the rims) is a bit less than 19in. The inside is about 16in in length. My cat is 16in from the neck (from where her collar sits) to her bottom. That means that if she goes in the box straight, not diagonally, she pees on the rim! And the pee slowly seeps down the front of the box and under it... every day. I tried to find a bigger open top box from IRIS but couldn't find one. I thought I'll try it some more and I was able to kind of contain the situation by using a liner bag in the box and pulling the bag's sides up around the rim. This made like a little "pee catching moat" around the box. But that means when I cleaned the box I had to check the moat for pee and gather it with paper towels & wipe everything with wet wipes. Today I give up. My cat is a big thrower of litter out of the box. That's why I wanted the tall shield but with an open top, since I know cats don't appreciate the closed ones. But this one is not the right now. Switching back to her old box (longer, though not shielded high enough). At least, sweeping litter everyday is easier than cleaning the pee moat. Still searching for the perfect litter box...
Poor Design
December 5, 2016
Whoever designed this litter box obviously doesn't have a cat and has no idea about cleaning a cat box. First, as you can see by the picture there is an indentation on the front which means the litter clumps and dries in the corners if your cat pees there which ours does. When cleaning the pan it is like digging cement out of the front corner crannies......not easy or fun! Second, the top ridge, which is a great idea, is useless if doesn't stay in place and this one doesn't, it moves around letting the pee run down the sides. So, because of these glaring design problems 2 stars is all I can give this thing......back to the drawing board for this one and I advise getting a better designed unit for your cats and your cleaning pleasure.

If you like scraping the pan with your finger
July 4, 2017
Update: Upon my monthly replacement, I noticed many very small clumps settled on the bottom that stuck to the pan like glue. I have never had this happen with any other brand. Scrubbing with wet towels did not work. I didn't want to use tools as that would scratch the pan. I literally had to pick at the clumps for ten minutes with my finger nails to completely clean the pan out. Then the fun task of cleaning the litter from under my nails. While it's dust-free and odor control work well, I will never use this brand again now matter how cheap it is on sale due to the extra cleaning involved.I tried this brand because it was on sale here. The clumping action is excellent. It creates a solid large clump that doesn't break apart after only a few minutes and is easy to scoop. I see no traces of dust when scooping which I especially appreciate. The odor protection is excellent leaving no traces of smells whether it be minutes or hours. My only complaint is that if the clump is touching the box, it tends to stick to the box. You must perform some (tough at times) scraping to get it off, which my current favorite Fresh Step, does not do. This action may be difficult for some. However, the fact that the price keeps going up means I probably won't be buying again though.
Clumps like cement
October 7, 2016
I bought this litter because it has great reviews and is a great price. I should have looked more closely at the reviews - the newer reviews are much less positive than the older ones. I didn't have a problem with dust or odor control, but the clumps are like cement and they stick to the bottom of the litter box. You have to scrape forever to get them to come up and they break off into little pieces. Very disappointing. I didn't want to waste a whole bag of litter, so we mix it in with Tidy Cat litter and it does better that way.
Litter so precious, my cat wouldn't use it!
May 11, 2016
I had been using Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter for about a year to great success with an older cat who started having litter box issues late in life. We used to buy it at the pet store, but they stopped carrying it for awhile. Then I was ordering it from Amazon, but it wasn't always in stock. I read reviews of the Precious Cat litter, and a lot of people seemed to think it was as good as the more expensive, harder to get Cat Attract litter. Our older cat had passed away last year, and we recently adopted a five month old kitten who seemed not to have any litter box issues (but had only used the Cat Attract). I bought a bag of this and added it to the dwindling Cat Attract litter left in the box. The next morning, our kitten with no litter box issues had peed in two separate locations in the house! We went back to the Cat Attract and haven't had any problems since. This litter may be great for some, but whatever "attracts" my cat to the Cat Attract is something he now looks for when it's time to eliminate. Needless to say, I have "eliminated" this litter from my house.
Not a good litter for my cats
February 19, 2016
I really didn't like this litter. It doesn't get rid of any of the cat smells and when the cats use it the litter turns into almost hard squishy clay. It makes it really tough to clean the box. I tried scooping it the first day but by the second I just had to dump the whole tray. I bought a 40 lb bag and it went very quickly having to dump the whole thing every other day. Not only did I have to deal with the litter mess but also had to really scrub and clean the pan after since it all stuck to the bottom. It just caused a whole lot of extra work. I won't be buying any more.
Not the same litter these days...
April 15, 2014
I've been using this litter for almost a year now, and decided to wait a long time to see how it performs before leaving a review. We have five adult cats and three very large custom-made litter boxes (made from the giant covered Rubbermaid totes, as three of our cats are 20+ pounds (and not fat, they are big breeds)). The cats range from 8 years old (two of them) to 12+. Litter and cleaning litter boxes is something I feel like I'm an expert in by now (having been an indoor cat owner for almost twenty-five years). At first, after coming from almost a pure dust-based litter like Scoop-Away, this product was a blessing. I tried it, the corn/wheat based stuff, other synthetic types, and as I whittled down which litters were the best, this one, by far, was the absolute best when it came to odor, dust, tracking, and general enjoyment (I don't really say that with a straight face, as litter boxes are anything but enjoyable, but Precious Cat made the daily job far, far more enjoyable than before).Three months ago I was finally ready to leave a glowing review, but then suddenly the litter that started arriving regularly from Amazon was the same bag, but the contents seem to have cheapened. This litter is now almost as dusty as the stuff I used to use, and this is a huge problem. The minimal tracking qualities of this litter has also shifted, and where I could do little easy spot cleanups daily as I cleaned the boxes, I now have to vacuum every other day as this stuff is all over the house (it's not pleasant to find it UNDER the fitted sheet on a bed, since the cats love to get on the bed before it gets made when we change the sheets/blankets).The odor control is no longer 'control' but more like 'non-existent'. Typically, we don't have odor issues, as again, I clean these boxes daily without fail (and if I don't, someone else does... it has to happen daily with this many cats or it does become a problem). Lately though, it's getting unpleasant. Keep in mind, once per month, I completely change the litter out and scrub/wash the boxes thoroughly, so it's not any kind of build-up. We've always surprised visitors to our home who exclaim there's no way they'd ever know we had five cats because there's never been cat box odor before... this is no longer true.I'm not sure what happened over the course of the last six months or so, but the quality of this litter is no better than the rest. I would absolutely LOVE to give four or five stars, but I'm now starting to shop for other brands. It doesn't help that Amazon has now pulled the product from their own shelves to investigate issues (though those issues might be packaging/delivery issues, of which I've never had a single problem) that customers are having. If the mfg of this product reads this, please, please fix whatever you've done to Precious Cat litter and give me the quality product that I have been buying exclusively for almost a year. I hate having to shop for different litter, and the cats aren't very keen about it either.
Crappy beach sand
December 31, 2013
Current ReviewIf the price had stayed at $13.10 for the 40lb I'd have upped the star rating some. I was forced to buy another bag of this through Amazon because I was down sick and they'd deliver this. Seems like it's a bit of a crap shoot with this brand, because this time it worked a little bit better, but it still tracks like crazy. If your cat steps in any wet area, he's then got a dried cling mess between his pads. So as he sits on the bathroom vanity I clean his paws. I do like that they'll deliver this, but for the price of now almost $17 I'd rather buy Scoop Away. Yeah, I know it's only $4 difference.Old ReviewAm changing my review because the product changed. I ordered a bag last month from Amazon and it was as good as my prior review said. My newest order they changed the formula to this tiny granulated stuff that looks frankly like crappy beach sand and works just about as poorly. Will being going back to Scoop Away - that became my favorite once this was harder to find. Still is now.Oldest ReviewI'd bought and been using the new Featherlight cat litter from Tidy Cat. I liked it and my cat didn't mind it, but I saw it was sticking badly in between his toes... like to where I couldn't get it out without causing him discomfort. What was coming loose was tracking pellets all over my carpet rooms away. SO! Doing what I do when I need a good suggestion, I did a generic search for cat litter and then picked the right 'department' and selected my search results to come up with 'highest customer rating'. Then I took YOUR advice, reviewers.Zero dust. Clumps incredibly tightly which allows you to get out the urine areas without having to push it around and touch the 'clean' litter. As for people who complain that you can still smell the poop... here's the scoop. Poop smells, hence it being called 'poop' as in 'poopy'. Scoop it and don't just leave it sit in the box for days on end. All I know is that with little effort ... and my cat drinks a TON of water because I think he has kidney issues ... the box has zip of an odor after you've done your part. My cat's opinion speaks for itself. He used to refuse to leave the box until he pushed and kicked and whatall in there for a solid 3 minutes (which is fun to listen to in the middle of the night). Now? He does his deal, I hear a couple of digs to cover and he's out of there. He also no longer runs charging from the litter box afterwards like his butt's on fire!Thank you Precious Cat. Your now very loyal customer and cat.

scaredy-cat keeps her distance - runs away instead of runs to; no charm there
August 26, 2017
My kitty is a scaredy-cat on many things like this but I wanted to give it a try. It does get her attention, so I gave it 2 stars. She runs away from it, though, and hides from it. I doubt her feelings towards it will change in the future but I'll try it some more. The only toys she has ever really responded to are the plastic rings that are on the gallon jugs for milk or juice.I can't rate the long-term durability of this product, but it appears well constructed so far. I wasn't worried about my kitty choking on it (especially when she won't approach it!). HA
Cats will chew on this toy...buyer beware
March 13, 2017
I have four cats, a mama cat and her 3 kittens who are now fully grown cats. The mama cat is isolated because she carries the FIV virus and loves playing with the wand. Accompanying my order, I received an e-mail from the company warning against using the wand as a chew toy. They claim the materials are safe but other posted reviews indicated cats have been harmed using this toy. Your cat will use this as a chew toy. Hopefully the dyes, chemicals and materials used in the wand are not harmful to your pet. If you buy the product, you should roll up the wand and keep it out of your cats reach, they will eat it.
I have 3 cats and the usually love dangly objects
February 12, 2016
The product itself I did not have a problem with. I have 3 cats and the usually love dangly objects. But for some reason, my kitten was petrified of it and the older 2 cats were not interested. Its not a very long string that comes off the wand so I had to get pretty close to wave it around in front of them, whereas other products similar to this have longer handles and longer strings with maybe some attachments such as feathers. Disappointed that my cats couldn't have more fun with this.
Barely okay, but wouldn't recommend it
January 6, 2016
It's barely okay, but more what I'd expect to pay a dollar for at one of the discount shops. The picture makes it look like a tube of fabric, instead it's a thin strip of stretchy fuzzy craft fabric with a small amount of stitching on each side. Too lightweight to flip around well and tears easily. I certainly wouldn't leave it alone with my cat since he could chew right through it, being such a thin strip of fabric. If I'd realized it wasn't an enclosed tube of fabric, I wouldn't have purchased it.
its easy to use and safe as far as having no ...
December 8, 2015
UPDATE TO BELOW REVIEW:This is dangerous for cats because ti can easily get caught around their necks. Look at the picture another reviewer posted.. perhaps that was done intentionally for the picture, but, this could happen if you leave the cat unsupervised ( which the toy isn't made for). Also when my grand kids play with this with the cat, it sometimes gets caught around his neck, and if I weren't right there, they try to pull it off and it would strangle the cat. For that matter as well, its not safe with the kids if they put it around their own necks. The ribbon also has became very thin. As it gets stretched during play, it becomes very thin and harder to play with. Another reviewer also stated their cats ate it and vomited it and had to have some of it pulled out the back end of another cat. This toy isn't meant to be used by cats without supervision. But even so, as I said, they get very excited and run fast after it, and if it whips around their neck and they keep moving, it can cause a problem. 2 stars because with very careful play by a responsible adult who is aware of the risk, the cats can enjoy it, but don't leave it around for them to get at when you cant be watching them. For me, I simply rather not have it.original review: Picasso LOVES this, its easy to use and safe as far as having no little bells etc that potentially can come loose to kitty to choke on. It moves fast which really gets him going. My only concern is that it does move fast and is long and can get wrapped around his neck, and a strong pull might hurt. But with supervision and attention, its a lot of fun. I don't think it would get caught so tightly as to harm him, but, if left propped for him, it is a possibility, so just use it when you play with your cats and don't leave it for them unattendedCat Dancer 301 Cat Charmer Interactive Cat Toy. Great price for this add-on item.
Not great for flicking around, possible choking hazard
January 11, 2014
I'm not overly thrilled with this toy and my kitty, while more enthusiastic about it than I am, also feels like it could be better (she often loses interest after a few minutes). The string is very long, about three and a half feet, which means a foot is dragging on the floor when I'm playing with her while sitting down. I'm a 6'5" male and even I have to hold my arm up high in order to get the tip of the string off the floor, which is the only way to really flick it around in an enticing manner. I've started to contemplate snipping a foot or so off the end, though I'm unsure if that will cause the string to fray and fall apart. Right now my cat usually winds up watching the tip of the plastic wand as I try to wave my arm high enough to get the end of the string going, which means a couple of tired shoulders for me and reduced playtime for her.I also worry about my little girl getting at this thing and playing with it when I'm not around, as the end of the string is small enough for an industrious kitty to swallow and could easily knot around her neck if she's rolling around with it.This "cat charmer" is higher quality than most cat toys, which I give it credit for, as I haven't had any issues with the string breaking or disconnecting from the wand. All in all it's an okay product that could be better, and I will likely be buying other toys to replace this one before long.

Horrible design - bottom is not flat
October 23, 2017
It doesn't show in the photo, but this litter box does not have a flat bottom. There is a dual level bottom surface (a dip that runs all around the outer edge of the box). This makes it a nightmare to clean because if the cat happens to pee on the seam area, the clump crumbles totally instead of coming out in a solid clump as it does in a flat bottom litter box (and you never quite get the whole thing because some of it cakes into the groove). What a ridiculous design. I used it for a few days, then threw it out and got a flat bottom pan. I can only assume that the good reviews for this are people who might not have had a normal flat litter box for comparison.
Not usefule for full sized cats
August 22, 2017
Needed a high-sided litter box to prevent urine spray from getting out of box. The upper shield leaks any liquid that hits it's side. Waste of money. The scoop was also poorly designed. The mesh pattern is too large to capture the dribble clumps. Lots of solid area that doesn't filter litter at all so wound up throwing away a lot of unused litter when I used this. Both the box and the scoop poorly designed.
Cat Prefers Sideless Litter Box
June 12, 2017
TRied to switch my year old cat who now throws litter outside her standard litter pan to this model but she refused to enter high sided box. Assume it would be a better option for those training new kittens to use box so they won't have problem as they grow older.
LEAKY $6 dollar cat box! You get what you pay for!
March 13, 2017
Not realizing that my husband paid only $6 dollars for this box - I was expecting a better product but you actually do get what you pay for. We've only had the box for 2 months and the bottle LEAKS! Cat urine puddles all around the box even if you do clean it everyday. Stay away from $6 dollar cat boxes! I know we will.
Very Disappointed
April 23, 2016
In all fairness I owned this same box for a couple of years and it was excellent. The lid was starting to crack and I ordered 2 replacements. When I got the first box set up I placed the lid on, tapped the right side and SNAP, the plastic curve on the lid broke. Understand I have used this model many times and realize you need to tap the edge and not beat on it. Then the lid would not stay on. There are locking tabs on each side of the lid, the lid is to wide and it will not lock on to the box.The second box is the same way, lid to wide at the locking tabs and will not stay on. Now I have plastic clips on each side of both boxes to keep the lids in place. NOT what I bought them for.So both boxes not correct and very brittle plastic that breaks easy. Not good.
Not a good solution for spraying males
January 23, 2016
The only reason I hate this litter box is because I have male cats who like to stand up and spray over the back of the litter boxes. I bought this for that purpose. It worked for protecting the wall, but it is two pieces and the spray gets in between the crack between the top and the bottom and down the outside of the box and allover the floor. Also, the box is too small and you can't get a sturdy large litter scoop in to scoop it out very well. It was irritating. The little scoop that came with it was a joke. Really. I don't think the inventor really had cats or ever scooped out a litter box.Otherwise, it is a sturdy box and if you don't have the issues I do with multiple large cats, this might be a good solution for you. It may work better with females who tend to squat to pee.

SCAMMING AMAZON CUSTOMERS
May 27, 2017
It's true, it's not the same as it used to be. I've been using this litter from Amazon since the beginning of this year when I adopted a kitten. My kitten and I have had no problem with it until now. The most recent bag was delivered less than a month ago - it is dusty, sticks like glue, and does not control odor. I think it also caused my kitten to be extremely itchy, she has been scratching herself like crazy lately.I bought a another bag of this same litter at Pet360 and compared it with the one from Amazon, they were almost entirely different from each other. The litter from Pet360 is of the same superb quality that I was used to. It is a shade darker than the one from Amazon, not dusty, clumps really well, not sticky, and controls odor.I feel like this company is selling the good quality litter to the other stores and selling the subpar litter to Amazon customers to cut some costs. Amazon doesn't check on the quality of the products it's sending out due to the massive inventory / volume of sales and this particular product already has high ratings so this company can cut some costs and sell the bad quality litter through Amazon every now and then. If somebody noticed the bad quality, they can chuck it to being a "bad batch". Read through the comments, this is a trend.
Same old bulls***
November 30, 2016
Don't believe all the hype about this cat litter. Works just like all the other crap from the grocery store. Didn't work any different and clumps on the bottom no matter how much you have in it. When I did put tons in like their special directions, my cats were so high they kept pissing over the edge and my box is 8" tall.
Disappointed :(
November 7, 2016
I've always used Fresh Step and everything I have tried can never compare. I found that this litter tracked a lot more in my house than other brands. The clay was also very lumpy, some of it not broken up. The tracked litter hurts a lot more to step on it barefooted than any other brand, think LEGOS! It didn't stick to the feces. It doesn't coat it at all. And because the grains were so coarse, it busted through my litter disposal bags. It was a decent price and had great claims, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations.
Different formula? Totally gooey and sticks to everything!
August 22, 2016
I used to love this kitty litter and used it for years. Not sure if they changed the formula, but it's awful now. I scoop 2-3 times a day and the urine is caked onto the bottom of the litter box, even though I have a good 3-4 inches deep of litter in there. It turns to a gooey, sticky, glue-like consistency and is nearly impossible to scrape off of the bottom and sides of the litter box. When I finally scrape all of the gooey clumps off, they break apart. Good clumping kitty litter should produce tight, dense little clumps that are easily scooped up. That's how I remembered this litter from a few years back. But I ordered it just last month and it was definitely not like this at all.
Was great until they changed the formula
September 14, 2015
Update: I emailed the Precious Cat people and asked why they changed their formula. They replied within a day (!) and said they hadn't modified the formula but where having an issue with the supplier of the clay. I have on more bag of litter and will probably run out in a couple months, then will try another bag to see if the dust problem has been solved. I'll update my review after that.I loved this litter until about a year ago. Before that it was truly dustless and I could keep it in my cat box for almost a month without any smell. Then something changed and it is now so dusty that I don't like to breath when I'm cleaning the box. My room where the cat boxes are is covered in a fine white dust. I wish they would go back to the original formula but the dust is so bad that I am looking for a new litter.
Very disappointed
August 14, 2015
I'm not sure if all the reviews are a scam or not, but I have tried this cat litter, ordering at least 3 times, and all of them failed the superb expectations of the other reviews. This cat litter actually has MORE dust than any that I've tried. Every time I go to clean the litter box, I find myself noticeably trying to avoid all the dust. Not only that, but this litter has zero odor control. At first, I thought it was just a bad batch that I got. But I've ordered a few times now, over many months, and I think it's getting worst. I'm not sure how anyone can rate this a good litter. I order hundreds of products on Amazon, and I don't believe all the reviews, but this is the first time that I've seen such inconsistency with the product and the reviews that are generated. I feel sorry for my cat at this point.

My cats won't play with it...
June 10, 2017
My cats don't even bother with this and they normally love any type of wand toy. The material feels like a piece of fleece blanket so it's heavier than other toys similar to this (the wands with feathers, wires and bells, etc.) and not free flowing enough to move fas and keep the cats attention. I wouldn't recommend it.
Not Safe
June 6, 2017
This was a fun toy at first, but if you have a cat who likes to chew on their toy, the fleece is not strong enough to withstand their jaws and sharp teeth. It took me a couple days to realize that my cat was literally eating it. Buy a safer toy instead.
Fun, but Unsafe
June 2, 2017
As others mentioned, this toy is popular with our cat, but when left alone he decided to eat off the end when we weren't around. We noticed it coming out of his rear end and had to take him to the vet when he wouldn't allow us to gently pull it out. Turns out he had swallowed about 7-8" of the fleece and (luckily) it hadn't become tangled in his intestines. This toy honestly is dangerous if unsupervised, and the $80 vet bill + time lost was so not worth it.
Great.... Until Your Cat Needs Surgery
January 17, 2016
I bought this for my kitten and was very please at first. She loves wand toys, and it made her run like crazy. I'm careful with most toys and put them out of reach when my boyfriend and I are not around to supervise, however kittens are wiley little creatures. I noticed that the end seemed shorter than before and a few days later I came home to find vomit the room that we keep her in when she is home alone with little pieces of multicolored felt in the vomit. Eventually it got to the point when we had to take her to the vet where my 14 week old kitten had to undergo intestinal surgery to remove a piece of this toy.CAT TOYS SHOULD BE SAFE FOR CATS!! Cats love to chew on things and this toy is a recipe for disaster and heartbreak.
Not Safe
November 21, 2014
Our cat loved playing with it, but he would try to eat it, sometimes getting several inches of fabric in his mouth. I tried only letting him have it while supervised, but then one day I noticed that the string was shorter--he'd managed to bite off and swallow some of it. Thankfully he's all right, but I looked through the other comments and noticed several reviewers who have had to take their cats to the vet because of this toy. I'm throwing it away.
I do love it but...
January 26, 2014
My cat loves this toy so so so much, but unfortunately he loves eating it too. One day I woke up and saw 7 inches of it missing. It was my fault for leaving it unattended, but it shouldn't be a dangerous toy if left alone to begin with. My cat didn't poop for 4 days, and we had to take him to the vet. He really misses the toy, but if possible can you guys make this ribbon more durable to tears and rips. Thank you. I really do love it, but I give it 1 star for the risk factor. My cat is okay, i digged through his poop to find it.
