Mophie rocks
December 18, 2013
I have owned several Mophie's over the years and never had a problem with them. Some obvioiusly do and I'm sorry for that. I also bought a longer micro USB cable to go with it so I can connect it to my computer and charge it (works with any standard Apple charging units) without having to pull the cover off. It not only gives me about 8 more hours of charge than normal (and I am a high user) but the case has saved me several times as I have dropped it on various surfaces (clumsy by nature) and it has not hurt the iPhone. The Mophie sustained some damage on the last drop, but works fine. A must-have for me.
Nice product that works as advertised
July 3, 2013
Purchased this product for the iPhone 4S and it works well and fits my needs. I really like this product because it is relatively small given that it a standby battery and protection for the phone. The charger is charging both the phone and the standby battery, so it will take a few hours to charge. The standby battery will indicate that it's fully charged with four LED lights on the bottom of the device. Once your phone battery is low, you just flip the switch on the left hand side of the device and the phone starts charging and appears like it's plug into an outlet. Again, it will take an hour or so to charge, but works normally during the charging process.A couple things to note, this unit comes in a nondescript box, with no labeling, just a plain white box. If you compare to the retail version which is black and has a host of detailed description of the unit's features and functions. One might think it's a black market unit in this case, but to me this cuts the cost of the unit and therefore is reflected in the discounted price.Second, the method of charging is via a separate mini USB charger that charges the phone and the standby battery. Because of the case, that standard Apple connector is not available to use. So when you need to connect the phone to your computer or your car stereo, you will need to remove the phone from the case to access the standard Apple connector. One could argue that there is a better way to implement the design, but for me it's small issue.I would recommend this unit at this price for most users that need to have a standby battery when you forget to charge overnight and are on the go.
Great Product... 2 flaws

Case assembles quick, which also makes it easy to let your spouse / friends "borrow" your case one the fly when thy have no battery. You get to make friends really quick when you lend you battery case. Buy lots of cables, since the micro USB is now different from your collection of 25 various old apple chargers. One for your work and home computer, the wall plug for next to your bed, the retractable one for the car etc. Case will support an impact fair, so far haven't dropped it. But not going to protect like a otter box will. And also zero screen protection from a face down drop. My biggest beef, the case is designed to light up on the bottom of the case four LEDs as it charges. Each is a 25% charge of the case. You can also hit a button at any time when out to see remaining case life. Problem is that when on charger it lights up all LEDs and the 25% that's charging blinks. This is a pain in the arse when charging on night stand trying to get sleep. So you find yourself throwing clothes on your phone at night so your room doesn't light up. When the charge is switched on... Assuming you just leave it alone... It will go from near dead iPhone to about an 85%+ refill which basically is an extra full use. It's heavy and bulkier then your bare phone but way less bulky and easier to get in and out of your pocket than a otter box. All in all for the dozen times it's saved me in the month I have had it with every damn penny. I find myself once again USING my phone instead of hoarding battery life like an 8 year old does Halloween candy. This device let me use my smart phone again without worrying about the "oh know I need to save battery life for work emails after dinner". Wish I had it since day one of the iPhone 4S.*** WARNING *** DO NOT try and do a software update with the micro USB and Mohpie case on the phone. Remove the case and use a REAL iPhone cable. Apparently trying to go thru the Mophie case with cable cased me to have a data corruption! I tried to even do a restore.. it wont as long as the case is on. So when you do your backups, and software patches... use the old legacy iPhone cable!!!! Nothing like the freak out i had when my phone became a paperweight finding this out the hard way!
best battery pack
December 13, 2011
I've tried various 'plug-in' mini-batteries etc.Only the Mophie has pleased me; through the first version for the iPhone 4 (a little different if you had the model before they removed the plastic between the mute button and volume)was not good on the 4s. The latest version without that little plastic 'bridge' is perfect. This is my 4th Mophie, and I'm so pleased that I have given several more as gifts to staff and friends. As it is available under $60 for the Air on-sale occasionally; that's a screaming bargain; given people pay 20-40 for a plastic case alone. The battery appears identical to that in the iPhone as far as lithium ion longevity; and the LED indicators are very useful too.The need for a mini-plug rather than use of various docking stands is the only downside; but this aspect appears to be a necessity and you get used to it.If one uses AirPlay or doesn't care about other devices (and I don't), then this is the only perfect solution.Oh; the Air Plus is thicker and on the iPhone 4 caused light reflections from the camera flash; this is NOT an issue on the regular Air.Also the regular Air besides being lighter and sufficient (for me anyway) has the alumiminum trim around the unit mimicking the iPhone itself; whereas the Plus does not. Finally; I prefer the black unit because it contrasts nicely with a white iPhone; and the material is less likely to slip than the smooth plastic used on the White one.The red (or plum) also isn't too slippery; but it adds a third color element for those who don't want things to look too 'busy' or call attention to devices. In closing; in the one exchange of a unit with Mophie, the customer service was extraordinary, to the point I wrote a note to them about it.The CSR (representative) was here in the US; and sent me repeated emails to be sure everything was fine with the replacement, and making sure I was satisfied. He had no way of knowing that I'm in media and would endorse this to many; so I must say that degree of attention on a fairly inexpensive accessory, is unprecedented these days.I cannot say anything but the best about this company; not just the product.gene
To Mophie or Not To Mophie
July 31, 2011
The Mophie Juice Pack Air Case and Rechargeable Battery is the the only case I will ever use again. If you are like me and you have ran your phone through the gauntlet of available cases, then you may find this Mophie case to be perfect. Most cases do not complement the beautiful form factor of the iPhone 4--one of the appealing reasons for buying the iPhone. Other cases feel cheap and built with inferior materials compared to those used in the iPhone. This case will not follow suit, from the moment you remove this case from the box you will notice the quality of the materials. Furthermore, once this case encapsulates your iPhone you will notice the velvety feel of the case backing and the welcomed added weight of the battery. I am now able to use the iPhone with one hand due to the increase in size. Since using this case I have dropped my iPhone from about five feet onto a concrete sidewalk. The iPhone survived the fall unscathed and the case gained only a few blemishes. The additional battery is more than adequate with two full days of average use--occasionally through minimal usage I can go an entire week without charging the batteries. The battery contained in the Mophie Juice Pack is meant to be utilized as a spare and is not meant to be permanently left on. When the iPhone battery gets down to less than 30 percent, I will turn on the Mophie Juice Pack and the phone will be charged to more than 90% in an hour. When you plug the micro USB cable into the phone, both batteries are charged at the same time and I have not noticed an increase in charging time. The pass through micro USB port enables charging and syncing through the case, eliminating the need to remove the phone from the case. Hands down, this is the best cell phone case I have ever used.
Love It, highly recommended
January 19, 2011
I love this battery case! First off it looks and feels great. While it does add some weight to the phone, it is not cumbersome. In fact it feels very sturdy in my hand. It doesn't add a lot of bulk either. It is just slightly larger than your typical iPhone case. I bought this case as I play a lot of games on my phone which uses a lot of battery and doesn't get me through the five hour flight to visit my son. I had a Kensington external battery which was really good, but I didn't like having to carry around the extra battery and cable. This case fit the bill. It has a switch so that you don't have to use it until you use up the phone battery, then you switch over to the battery and I am good to go. As a test, it took me close to three hours of game playing to run the phone down and after turning on the battery I played for three more hours until I just couldn't play anymore. I shut off the phone and it showed I still had 60% battery left! This definitely will make the trip. Some have reported that the buttons are harder to reach as the thickness of the case makes them deeper, but I have not had a problem with them, but then again I have small hands. I am able to use ear bud headphones without having to remove the case cap, but my over the ear home headphone jack doesn't seat all the way down without removing the cap of the case. There are adapters that I could purchase if needed. I don't find this to be a problem as the portable ear buds are what I use when traveling anyway. The other thing that might be a negative for some is that it uses a micro usb connector which for me was a surprise. I didn't know there was such a thing. I had read reviews regarding this issue but others called it a mini usb and I thought what's the big deal I have lots of mini usb cables laying around. Turns out it's a micro which is smaller than the mini. It does come with one chord to recharge and connect up to itunes, but if you are like me I like to have a back up and had to order one. None of my other devices uses this type of connector. Then again I have the same problem with every upgraded cell phone I have had. Every phone used a different type of connector so I have tons of chords unfortunately none used the micro so now I have one more to add to my collection. So if none of the above cons bother you, I highly recommend this case to anyone who needs extra battery life. Mophie now makes one that extends the battery even longer than this one. So if you really need extra time check it out.

Good product, however....
March 23, 2013
It is nice to carry around a portable battery for your iphone. The case is sturdy and glides on and off the device easily. I have an iphone 4s.I can get nearly a full charge out of it (If I flip the charger switch to on when the battery life is at 20%).But here's my theory. I think that the case itself actually causes the battery to drain faster than it would if the case was not in use. While it is convenient to have a battery on demand where ever you go, I think that the metallic band around the case (which is a feature that makes it very solid and sturdy) actually diminishes the radios' abilities to connect and pass data, even if you have good cell or wifi strength. My theory is somewhat anecdotal, but the results are repeatable. I can take my phone to work with no case, use the phone mildly to moderately throughout the work day and and have 60-70% left on my battery life.I can exercise the same usage with the Mophie case on and by the end of the work day my battery is at around 50%.With the Juice Pack, you don't worry about it because you can always recharge it, but without the Juice Pack, you wouldn't NEED to recharge it so soon.My recommendation: Go case-less (or go with a light case) until you need the charge, then pull the Juice Pack out of your bag, slide it on the phone and charge away. This is a great device for travel days, I must say. That has been the best use case for it for me so far.
Great product with a couple of issues
December 13, 2011
I'm a power user of my iPhone 4S. I use bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and push notifications all day long and without the extra battery, my iPhone power is depleted before late afternoon. The battery gives me the extra power to keep my iPhone powered all day and most of the evening. Only in the late evening hours does the actual iPhone battery kick in. Even with the extra battery power, I charge the Mophie each evening and so far I'm very pleased with the product and recommend it. It does what it advertises it's supposed to do. The item is a bit pricey, but I got it on sale on amazon.com and during Macworld, the Mophie is usually discounted from the company online and at the expo.A couple of things to be aware of due to the design of any battery case.1) The case adds an 1/8 of an inch or so around the iPhone. so using the Volume + button as the camera button when the iPhone is in landscape mode is a kludge. You have to stick your fingernail in the slot to press the camera shutter button, because you can't get your full finger tip on the button. Instead I use the camera button on the screen.2) Because of the case thickness, the earphone jack casing needs to be very thin or you can't insert the jack fully into the earphone port. So choose your third-party earphones carefully.3) The power connector is a micro-USB connector on the side. You cannot attach a normal 30 pin connector to the bottom when the case is on, so you cannot use a device (like the Griffin iTrip auto, dual connect, FM transmitter etc) to play music from your iPhone thru your car speakers. But there are other ways to play music on your car stereo with the Mophie battery case on, so this point is just a "beware" issue.4) Finally, with the battery case on, you will need to find a carrying case that fits. The cases (with a belt hook) that are advertised to work with an iPhone are too tight. So I just went to the nearby computer/electronics big box chain store and fit every case on the shelf until I found one that fit. FWIW, the fake black leather case with a belt loop I got is a Mobo brand Carrera. it was labeled as fitting a different brand of smartphone, but it fit the iPhone w/Mophie case just fine and it was cheap. The Mophie is a slim and sleek case. I like the aluminum edge and black back, but Mophie makes other battery cases with in other colors and styles.
Freakin' Awesome! Edit: Well, it WAS.....
December 8, 2011
The Mophie Juice Pack Air is awesome. I bought this for my wife as she is in sales and talks about 4500 - 5000+ minutes a month. She used to have to recharge at least once during the day, no longer! The Juice Pack Air tends to give the phone enough juice to last all day. I couldn't be happier with it, nor could my wife. The only negative I have is that they don't make it for the Droid Bionic! I would buy one in a heartbeat. Bottom line -- This product delivers. It is well-worth the money if you tend to need to recharge during the day. I would estimate is doubles the battery life of the phone. One other cool thing is the Juice Pack Air uses a standard mini USB to charge and not the iPhone charger. Thus, we can charge it easily at a computer, or with my Droid charger. No need to carry around two chargers! Also, the iPhone will sync with the mini USB cable, so no need to remove the Juice Pack to sync, etc. It's an awesome product. Please make one for the Droid Bionic!EDITED AND UPDATE: The charger (mini USB) connection appears to be the weak point on this unit. My first one broke internally after a few months of use. It literally came out when I unplugged my charger. I ordered a replacement unit and noticed they charged the design a bit. I figured that had something to do with the charger connection. NOT. The replacement unit broke after 2 weeks of use. Same issue....the female side on the mini USB connection (phone side) is VERY weak.Although the Juice Pack is pretty awesome in performance. It's reliability is obviously not very good. Please be very careful plugging and unplugging it!
Great Case Option for someone who needs extended Battery Life
August 16, 2011
I have been using the Mophie Juice Pack Air with my White Verizon iPhone 4 now for about 3-4 weeks. My overall impression of this case is that it is a rather nice product, and I would definitely recommend it to someone who is in need of a little more battery life on their phone. I usually have my Mophie on my phone and once my phone hits about 20-30% battery life I flip the switch on the bottom left of the case and the iPhone begins to charge instantly. The case has enough battery power to get the phone back to the 80-100% charge range, depending on where you are starting from.As to the fit of the case, if you are worrying about the rumors that the white iPhone is "thicker" than the black version, have no worries the phone fits like a glove; with the only downside being that if you have a full body shield product on the phone (like SGP Steinheil EX iPhone 4 Screen & Body Protector Set [Ultra Crystal]) I would recommend highly that you take the side protection pieces off prior to putting the phone in the case as it makes it very tough to slide into the case and even more difficult to get the phone out.The only downside I have found with this case is that for some reason the white and red version of the case seem to vary, now I am not sure if one model i have is older than the other meaning the difference is due to a later product refinement; but, the white case has a glossy shell that even though it fits well in your hand 99.9% of the time I have had those rare occasions where it felt like it would slip out of my hand. The red case on the other hand seemed to have a matte type texture to it that seemed as though it would provided a better grip. Now I am not saying run out and get the red version, this is just something I noticed that differed from mine after viewing someone else's case for a few moments. The case itself is pretty much what it looks like in the picture, it adds a bit of length & width to the overall size of the phone, and as far as the thickness of the phone with the case on I would say that it is about 1.5-2x thicker than the phone on its on. For me though, I rather like this because I felt like i had more phone to hold onto, but each person will have their own preference.
Great battery case for your iPhone
May 30, 2011
The Mophie Juice Pack Air is a great battery case for your iPhone. The product works as advertised and provides nearly double the battery life for your iPhone. The design packs a lot of power into a rather compact and lightweight case. Yes, it's still a bit bulky, but compared to other battery cases I reviewed this one was surprisingly light and it provides really great battery life.My only complaint with this device--and why I didn't give it a 5-star review--has to do with the closure of the design. When the iPhone is in the case the top slides on easily with no hitches. However, when you try to slip the top on without the phone the lips that slide into a track and hold the top on correctly don't extend all the way to the top. This makes lining up the tracks and the lip a bit difficult at times. Often I'll simply leave the top off while it's charging and only put it on when the iPhone is in it.Other than this somewhat minor design issue this product is simply awesome. Highly recommended.
Best case ever!!!!!
May 28, 2011
I bought this case knowing I would use my iPhone all day at Disney World waiting on lines. So I knew my battery would run our quickly. So I bought this hoping I would get an extra few hours pn my phone. And it did much more than that. It almost gives you twice the battery life! I went through the day with my iPhone and the lowest I got was 60%! something I didn't expect was how durable the case is. Before I bought this case I never dropped my phone, but when I finally did drop it thank goodness I had this case on it because I protect the back as well as the front! The case adds a little lift to the edges so when it is dropped face down the floor doesn't hit the screen. I dropped my phone several times from my hands to the floor no cracks or scratches yet! As for paint chipping it hasn't happen yet. When you first get it you will notice the bulkiness but after 2 weeks you won't even notice it and think the phone is too small! That is what happened to me! My only flaw was the charging cord broke only a month after I got it. But not to worry if yours breaks like mine did a blackberry charger works with this case, so ask your friends for an extra! A really great product for someone who uses there phone like a high school teenager like me! Yay class of 2011!!!!

Good, but
July 15, 2016
I absolutely LOVE the idea of the Mophie rechargeable cases!!! I really do. I have a couple of problems with them, though. First, we have owned 6 of these cases (for the iPhone 4S, 5, and 6S), and not a single one of them has lasted more than 6 months. Two of them quit charging and three of them either quit holding a charge, or their switch to use the battery became so loose that it would charge here and there, depleting the case battery when the phone was 99% charged. The iPhone 4s case has the best switch because it is hidden on a corner and won't accidentally be turned on, but they were the ones that totally quit charging the phone. The iPhone 5 case has a switch that is on the back and it constantly switched on and off when it became loose. The iPhone 6 case has a button that you press, and as a new case, it regularly charges my phone when I don't want it to.As for the protection factor....I am a klutz. I drop my phone pretty much on a daily basis. I also have young kids who drop my phone. I have also used the really heavy duty OtterBox cases for my phones. These cases are much more slim, and protect my phone just as well, if not better than the OtterBox cases. I hated how dust could go between the OtterBox case and the phone screen, forcing you to remove the case on a regular basis in order to clean the screen (unless you do what I did and remove the OtterBox screen and put a screen protector on the phone, instead). My solution is the Mophie case with a glass screen protector. I feel as though it is an unbeatable combination, I just wish the battery would last longer!
New Juice pack / may need new back-up chargers
October 12, 2013
It came as promised. I will warn others that this is my second one and it is different than the previous. The charge port is recessed deeper and the charger it came with has a longer head. When I first recieved it the charger it came with worked great but some of the other chargers I had did not work so well. They would charge the Juice pack if I inserted it just right and did not touch the it afterwards. By comparing my newer chargers with my old ones that is when I discovered the new styles have a longer head and the Juice pack had a charge port that is recessed deeper. I then had to go out and purchase a new car charger because I only had the old style. I am thinking the change is due to what happened to my last Juice Pack, the charge port broke after 13 months which was outside the warranty by one month. The point I am making is if this Juice Pack is purcahced, new style chargers may also have to be purchased. I gave it 4 stars because I had to figure out all the above by myself. I do however stronger recommend the Juice pack. With my job I don't always have access to a power source to charge my phone and the Juice pack gives me an equivalent to a second battery which I have needed on many occasions.
Excellent Case/Battery with a Couple Missteps
March 5, 2013
The case I received appears to be an authentic Mophie Juice Pack Plus. I do not have the camera flash reflection others complained of in low light. The case fits my iPhone 4S nicely and all the openings line up well. The battery charges in a few hours and provides a little more juice than is needed one full charge for my woefully inadequate iPhone battery. The case has survived a number of drops without permanent damage to the case or the phone. I love being able to charge the iPhone using an industry-standard micro USB connector rather than Apple's irritating proprietary adapter.Downsides: The micro USB socket is oddly placed and barely grips the USB jack. I have taken to beveling the plastic edges off the tops of my micro USB cables with an exacto knife to allow for a reliable fit. (Maybe this is a sign of a counterfeit -- if so, I received an excellent fake.) Also, while the headphone jack fits Apple's headphones, it does not allow many other 1/8" stereo jacks to fully connect. The phone is very big with this case -- this was expected and I don't consider it a flaw, just a trade-off for a charging case. It barely fits in my universal phone holder for my car, and the phone digs deeply into my hip when crouching while wearing pants with shallow pockets.Ultimately, a case like this is a necessary evil due to the iPhone's inadequate battery. Apple is not alone in this respect; as far as I know, only Motorola has designed a single smart phone model with a battery that allows the phone to hold a charge for a few days with ALL radio functions left on. Other manufacturers -- including Apple -- will follow suit when we stop buying phones with crappy batteries. So, the case is a necessary evil but is an excellent design overall. The opening for the USB port is my biggest complaint, but I hope this is not due to counterfeiting.
love the case, could use some improvements in design
June 26, 2012
I have had my white mophie juice plus case for about 2 months now. Overall, happy with the product, nice to have extra battery power when you need it. However I feel there could be some design improvements....PROS: good feel in the hand, feels solid and looks sleek. Recessed well in the back protects the camera lens. Speaker sounds good, sounds are "fuller". Indicator lights on the bottom show how much power you have left in reserve. Haven't had a problem with charging the unit. I usually charge it when I get home, and it's ready in the morning. Nice not to have to carry a separate battery pack.CONS: as with other reviews, mine developed a crack in the lower right hand corner, same side as where the micro usb charging port is at (maybe a design flaw??) The charging port itself is located on a rounded corner, so the usb cable is flush with the case at the top, but not at the bottom. Having the micro usb charging port out of the side makes it tougher to find a phone holder that hides the cable (for aesthetic reasons) if you want to charge with the case on. You will need to take the bottom case off to use it on conventional docking stations/clocks for charging. Also, the unit does get hot when it is using the reserve power. One other con is the headphone jack. The case is thick and has a narrow oval opening for the jack, and the regular headphone jack will not fit flush with the unit anymore. Will need to find a jack with a narrower profile to fit inside that narrow oval opening. I have had to remove the top cover if I wanted to use the headphone jack.
Classy Looking
June 7, 2012
I just received my Mophie today. It's VERY easy to use - the case slides on and off without a struggle. It came mostly charged and it only took a little while to charge it the rest of the way. I turned on my 3G service on my iPhone 4 when I left my house earlier today and my phone has stayed at 100% power all day. I'm pretty impressed with that so far. I love the way the case feels - it has a good weight and feel to it. The back is rounded very much like the 3G designed iPhones. I kind of like that because when I travel places, I'd prefer that people don't look at my phone and see something new and pricey. I like the idea of it looking like an older model. The case seems like it would provide ample protection if I dropped it. The only thing that I'm a little bummed about is that there is no connection on the bottom for the iPhone to be connected to my car. If you have a connector that goes into the headset jack, then you're fine, but if your car uses the iPhone/USB connect, then you'll have to take the case off in order to use it. Not a big deal since the case is easily removable, but nevertheless, it would be nice if that had been taken into consideration. So far I'm really happy with it. It makes my phone feel pretty substantial - it definitely adds some size to it but it doesn't look ridiculous. It's more proportionate. If you want sleeker, the Air might be the way to go - I looked at one today and it's definitely quite a bit smaller, but I wanted the added protection and love the look of the white on white.
Saved me more than a couple of times
November 7, 2011
I bought the Mophie Juice Pack Plus back in June of 2011. I've used it since (at the time of review it's been about 5 months). This is an amazing case. At full charge I can get my iPhone 4 back up to 100% or close depending on how much I use it while it's charging. I often sleep over in my office and am out in the field two days running when I get busy and I don't need to plug the phone in to charge for about 3 days (and I use my phone A LOT).Best thing is to pick one of these up, buy a Scosche (or any brand) USB car charger that allows you to use your own cables, buy an extra micro USB cable from Mophie and keep them in your car. With this combination I hardly ever have to charge my phone in the wall. When I do I just leave it overnight and both the phone and case are 100% charged. This thing also takes a beating, I would know. I dropped it about 5 times onto pavement from waist height, a couple times right onto the face of the phone, but no cracks or chips. Even the case is not too badly damaged. Me and my dad also own the Otterbox defender cases, he still uses his, but mine was way too clunky for me so I ditched it for this case and haven't looked back.PROS:-Not too heavy-Good form factor-Can charge up to 100% or very close-Improves the sound quality of the built in iPhone speakersCONS:-The placement of the charging port makes it annoying to talk with the right hand, so I always use my left (not a biggie for me since I'm left handed).-In order to fit some types of earphones/headphones into the port, you need to remove the top cover.-The plastic on the right side of the case has started to come loose, but you can't tell unless you actually pull it back with your finger. Doesn't bother me a bit.-The screen of the phone sits less than a 1mm from the face of the case, so if you drop it on anything other than clean-ish pavement, you will most likely scratch the face.SUMMARY: Buy this case if you want a balance of good protection and battery life.

This product is great for travelers
August 24, 2014
I was pleasantly surprised with this product at first but then it came obvious that there is a negative correlation between the battery case size and the extended battery life. This product was purchased used, so the Li batteries are not to be expected to function as if it was new. Expect the battery life to add as much as 50% life to your phone before you have search for a plug (for its size i was expecting a lot longer). This product is great for travelers, however; the casing of this product is also very very slippery. I've dropped my phone more since I have owned this product than I had in the last 5 years of owning iPhones. The manufacturer should have added a rubber grip. The seller of this product was Great (Great = timely shipping and no issues). I would recommend buying this product but do reign in your expectations of no longer being tethered to an outlet. You still will seek outlets, just 50% less.
Get some other external batter instead

It fits very nicely with the iPhone 4s that I had at the time and I like it that it charged my phone quickly when it ran out of juice. I like it that it's very sturdy! The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't absorb shocks if you drop it. Also, the battery doesn't last for long. I only had this for about two months and hardly ever need to use the extra battery unless I was out riding for long hours. The battery life doesn't last.
Okay for now....wont buy again.

I've inspected my mophie and the box many times since I have received it, and I am fairly certain it is the real deal. The few pros: The fit around the phone is great. My phone clicks right in. I dont even mind the little bit of extra size to it. The overall feel of it is neat too. The extra charge is also great...as others have said, goes to about 75%.Cons: The siding seems to be very delicate...it seems like a sturdy case at first, but the siding is definitely not. Within a couple days the siding on the left came loose. Instead of sending it back, I just super glued it because I really needed the extra battery, so I didnt want to be bothered by returning it. No problem, it looks fine and hasnt come loose since ;)But then, a few days after that, the phone fell (and not even that far or hard). Now, there are small cracks by the area where the charger plugs in.The cover alone seems to take a long time to charge also. Within an hour my iphone 4 on its own charger will be almost full, but the cover takes about double the time. If I dont do it overnight, then I always need to remember to plug it in earlier then I normally would with just my phone.Overall, pretty good product. Does its job - but next time I will probably go with something else. I've had enough covers out there to know there will be others that are a bit more durable.
Great until...

I bought this case in October to house my new 4S after finally upgrading from my 3gs. The look of the case and ability to charge my phone battery were what sold me on this specific case since the battery life on my 3gs never really lasted long.First off: I try to take care of my phone. I don't hold in my arms like a baby by any means, but I do try to take extra precautions. Even when I upgraded to the 4S in October, my 3gs was still in excellent condition minus a small scratch on the screen. I had an Otterbox Commuter case on my 3gs almost the entire life of the phone, and even it was in good condition in the end even though it had been dropped countless times. (And believe me, I'm not trying to endorse a particular brand. I had my issues with that case as well.) Anyway, onto this review...I loved the look of my mophie. It didn't add much weight to my phone, and it was very sleek and attractive. Even my friends were impressed with it. The look is pretty flawless. However...The first time I dropped the phone was at work. Due to the slick plastic on the case, it slipped out of my hand and hit the tile floor from about 3 feet when I attempted to get it out of my pocket. When I picked up the phone, the case of the mophie was surprisingly cracked and dented on the corner. While this was disappointing, I knew it was my fault for being careless and dropping it in the first place. The phone underneath was still, unsurprisingly, intact. The second time I dropped the phone was yet again at work. This time the phone landed on the bottom near the charging port and cracked there. Unfortunately this incident caused something to come loose inside and now the phone won't charge unless you have it positioned at a certain angle.Call it bad luck or clumsiness, but, regardless, I don't think a $70+ case should be so fragile and break so easily. This is extremely disappointing, because the case really does work well as an additional charger with my phone.Another minor complaint I had with the case was when charging it. In my bedroom at night, the blinking charging light at the bottom of the case was very bright and very distracting. Covering that up is by no means hard though. That's just a minor complaint since I'm already complaining.Overall, this is a beautiful case that compliments the 4S so well. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up.
The Lack of the Standard 30 Pin Connector may be an Issue for Some
January 3, 2012
As Managing Editor for BYTE ([...] I see a lot of products for a number of different smartphones. The Mophie Juice Pack Air does exactly what Mophie claims it will do. It provides protection for your device, and it will charge the battery while switched on. However, there are a couple things you need to know and understand about it.The battery in the case is great. The case functions exactly as you would expect it to, and I've had zero problems with the battery.1. It nearly doubles the depth of your phone. This may or may not be an issue for you, but when the phone is in the case, its very fat.2. It adds about a 1/2 inch to the length of your phone. Again, this may or may not be an issue for you, but in order to accommodate the built in 30 pin connector so the case can charge your iPhone, it requires nearly a 1/2 inch of space at the bottom.3. The case connects and charges to your computer with a micro USB cable, not a 30 pin connector. This may be an issue for some; and there are a few reasons why. a) Not all of the phone's identifying information comes through. iTunes would not display my phone number on its Summary screen when the device was in the case and connected to the PC. This makes me wonder what other device meta data is not coming through and what I'm missing. b) The JPAir has power indicator lights and an activator button on the bottom of the case, where the 30 pin connector would normally go. Because this space is used by the indicator lights, the standard connector is missing, which means you can't use the device/case combo with standard iPhone accessories (like an iHome, a car kit, or any other widget, gadget or gizmo that connects to the phone via the standard 30 pin connector. If you want to use the device with those accessories, you have to take it out of the case.4. Photos taken with the device in the case have a flash halo effect due to the flash reflecting off the case backing. Both the iPhone 4 and 4S has nice cameras. Its a shame that its pictures are ruined by the case. You can somewhat prevent this by removing the top of the case, but as you'll see below, this is problematic.5. The case is made of plastic, and the top is rather flimsy. I can see it breaking very easily if you take the phone in and out of the case a lot.I recently purchased a Magellan Premium Car Kit for iPhone and iPod touch. Great device, better with the 4S than the 4 due to Siri, but that's another review for another time. However, it can't be used with the JPAir. It uses the 30 pin connector, so in order to use the car kit with the phone, my iPhone 4S has to come out of the case. With the top being so thin and flimsy, I will eventually break it accidentally. Its just a matter of time.I've given this case 3 out of 5 stars. The battery part of the case is great. It nearly doubles the battery life of my iPhone 4S, insuring that it lasts a complete 16-18 hour work day without any issues or concerns. As a case it provides decent protection, but the flimsy plastic construction and the lack of a 30 pin connector may be a deal breaker for some. The case retails for $79.99, is Prime eligible, but you'll likely find it for cheaper than that here on Amazon. It is, by the way, worth the purchase price; and you will get your money's worth from it.
Thought it was awesome.....
October 26, 2011
I bought this in July because like most iPhone users, my battery wasn't lasting the day anymore. I bought it primarily for long days or days when I wouldn't have access to charging my phone. And it was wonderful! We could be out on the bike all day and it would last - even with texting, and more importantly using the maps and mapquest apps. I did start to notice at about the second month that the morphie battery wasn't lasting as long as it did in the beginning, so I stopped using it everyday which really wasn't a big deal. We were out of town this past weekend, and it help up well enough all day where there was no wireless available. The last night away, it didn't fully charge and I wasn't all that concerned since we were headed home and if need be, I could charge the phone in the car. It drained very quickly and the battery was entirely drained after 5 hours in the car. We get home and the case will not charge AT ALL. I have contacted Amazon to find out if it is possible to return or exchange the Morphie case, but guessing it might be difficult based on another review since I have had the item for over 90 days.I have since bought the Boost case for $20 less and hope it will last longer than three months. With that being said, the cases are similar, however the Morphie case is a bit lighter and works better with the flash than the Boost case. With the exception of the case being dead after only three months and not using it everyday, I really like the product. I read a ton of reviews on the Morphie and I hope my incident is an isolated case. Will update once I hear back from Amazon.

Good.. but.. the one I got might be warped
June 14, 2016
I bought this for an old iPhone 4s. THE GOOD: It seems to work well enough.. adds 1-2 days of extended battery life depending on usage. The case is a bit thick, but not unexpectedly so, based on the reviews I read. It does fit snugly on the phone and once the two pieces are connected together, it is very sturdy. The rubberized back and sides make for a good amount of grip and I imagine some good protection from bumps and drops (my guess from how it feels; I have not dropped my phone) THE BAD: The power button has good tactile feel and gives a satisfying "click" when pressed. The same is NOT true for the volume buttons which must be squeezed very hard and there is no "click" or button movement. I think there is an alignment problem with the two components when connected. When I put just the top piece on the phone (the one with the buttons), the buttons do seem aligned and give a "click" when pressed. However, once I slide the bottom piece in place (the part with the battery) and the two sides meet, the tactile feel of the volume buttons disappears; there is no more "click" and only a very hard squeeze will move the volume (my wife can't squeeze that hard). I looked at the bottom part of the case and it appears to be slightly warped, so that when slid onto the phone and connected with the top, it just moves the volume buttons on the case out of alignment with the volume buttons on the body of the phone. The bottom of the case is too rigid to bend into alignment (it houses the battery itself) and so I'm pretty much out of luck as far as the volume buttons go. Either I must squeeze them VERY hard or must use the on-screen volume control with an up-swipe. This is kind of disappointing, as I find myself constantly in need of adjusting the volume for either the ringer, a phone call or when listening to Spotify. So.. basically.. it is a bummer. I like the extra battery life, but I'm disappointed with the volume button problem. I could or would return it to try and see if a replacement would fit better, but I bought the black one for $20 and it's not worth my time to even send it back. Based on this, if the seller or manufacturer wants to send me another one that has the chance of fitting better, I will update this review with my findings. Otherwise, I guess I'll live with this large flaw and keep squeezing away when I need to work the volume controls. One other item worth mentioning.. the micro USB port faces sideways on the right side of the case at a right angle to the case which is somewhat non-standard. I expected the port to be on the bottom which is more standard. It's just a little odd to have the charging cable jutting out to the right of the case vs. on the bottom like every or most other cases and or devices. Not a deal breaker, but an odd design choice.
Defective plug socket!
October 2, 2013
I have had this product 2 years only and had the pack break twice where you plug in on the side to charge it. It is defective. Breaks too easily and i know almost everyone who has it has the same problem. Seems to last for about a year before it gives way. The company did send a replacement the first time and then a year later out it came again and they said too bad.. So just repeating my experience. It worked great, and weighted like a brick but i am alright with that as i dropped it a few times and it never broke and i never lost it! The switch to turn on to recharge should be switched on and off when needed or else it will drain really quickly.. so now i don't have one anymore and going to wait for the iphone 6 i think.. the cost is about half of what a new phone would cost!
Extends battery life, USB connector is crap
July 1, 2013
Mophie has a good thing here, they just need to stop cutting corners when it comes to details. The pack holds my iPhone 4s securely, and offers great protection on all corners and edges. Battery is extended 2-10 hours, depending on how I am using my phone, which varies from day to day, but with the sorry battery life of the iPhone I'm grateful for the extension Mophie provides. My only complaint, and it's big enough to be thoroughly irritating, is when I go to plug in the mini-USB connector it doesn't sit correctly in the phone and thus won't charge the phone; I have to gently wiggle it out until I see the lights illuminate on the bottom indicating that the charging has started. Yet on more than one occasion that hasn't been a solid indicator...the light will start flashing as if it's charging and 8 hours later, it's still on the first light, flashing - zero charge. There is serious room for improvement on this device, but for now it will just have to do.
Nice to have, but underwhelmed
May 14, 2013
The case does not add too much bulk and is pretty sleek in design. I'm used to the Otterbox Defender and Commuter, so the size doesn't really bother me. I've only used the case twice, and once was testing it at home, so I can't speak to the quality of the protection at this point.Super easy to use and install.Using it right out of the box, as the directions say it is fully charged for you, I went from 13% to about 70% with my phone on. Not the 'wow' I was hoping for, but better than nothing. I let the case fully charge for a real-life trial run, thinking maybe that fresh-out-of-box charge wasn't really a full charge. I let my phone get to 20% before turning the case on. After about 2 hours with the phone off, I was disappointed to see that my charge only went to 80%. I might expect that after a few weeks/months of use that the case would drop to 60% charges. But right off the bat, I was hoping for at least 80%.I bought this for the music festival, Firefly, as the charging stations quickly overrun and an idling car is the only way to charge your phone there. This case will definitely help, but isn't looking as promising as I had hoped. I will update my review as I continue to test it, and after Firefly.
VENDOR SHIPPED COUNTERFEIT MOPHIE BATTERY
October 11, 2012
A friend showed me his Mophie on an Iphone 4 in May and I had to have one. Placed my order immediately with AMAZON and until past week or so have been totally satisfied. In past week when I plug the charger cord in it is wobbly and I had to use scotch tape to tape it in at a proper angle to get it charging. After reading reviews in AMAZON I see this is not a unique problem. Just emailed Mophie with copy of my Amazon invoice of June 2 asking for a replacement. I returned the Mophie battery to Mophie.Mophie checked out the item and concluded it was a counterfeit product. They did not make it. It was shipped by an Amazon Vendor, not directly by Amazon. Mophie sent it back to me and I contacted Amazon and on the 2nd customer person I was satisfied by them sending me direct from Amazon a Mophie that should be the real deal. I returned the counterfeit to Amazon to deal with.
nice case that still needs some work
January 12, 2012
Packaging:Probably the most unique thing about the package is the "Mophie loves you" lettering that you see under the case once you remove it from the package. Nice touch Mophie.Fit and Finish:This case has a nice balance of grip and slickness. Grippy enough to be held comfortably and slippery enough to come out of pockets easily. The edges are rounded and I really like the fact that the volume buttons as well as the on/off/sleep buttons are actually made easier to use by this case because they are on the outside of the case, so no more trying to wiggle your fingers into a case to hit those hard to reach buttons. The opening for the mute switch is large enough, but I have found that I need to use my other hand to toggle the switch. This is not a big deal to me but you should be aware of it.Pros:1. nice white LED's, not those cheap looking blue ones2. feels like something Apple would make (granted it's not metal and glass)3. physical standby switch with a nice red lable for off and green for on4. seems like it would take some of the shock of a drop, but I'm not going to test that5. works on the iPhone 4s6. the speaker hole actually seems to amplify and clarify the sound a bit7. you don't have to use the special Apple charging cable, mini USB is a great way to charge and easy to replace the cable at a much lower price8. slight raised edge around the front of the case to protect the front glass (lay on the table design)9. gave me 6 hours of use just on the Mophie battery itself with 100% of iPhone battery ready to useCons: 1. iPhone 4s flash washes out dark photos with the case on2. price3. headphone jack opening is to small for older larger headphone jacks4. sometimes gives error messages on iPhone when unplugging the unit from the USB charger (with Apple charger and Mophie cord)Usefulness:The iPhone 4s is a very needy phone in the battery department. If you are looking for a case that will make your phone battery last longer with a fair amount of protection. This case should fit the bill if you can overlook the cons above.Would I buy this again? No, if Mophie addresses the concerns above I'd be glad to try the next versionOther Thoughts:Perhaps Mophie should have included a small USB charger given the cost of this item. Please make sure you buy directly from Amazon. I've read many reviews of this item talking about cheap knockoffs being sold by third parties. I'm sure there are some very good third party sellers that offer this case but if you want to avoid the possibility of getting a fraudulent item, get it directly sold and shipped from Amazon.

IT WORKED GREAT UNTIL I COULD NO LONGER CHARGE MY I PHONE ...
April 8, 2015
ON FEBRUARY 16, 2015I BOUGHT A MOPHIE JUICE PACK AIR CASE AND RECHARGEABLE.THAT'S LESS THAN TWO MONTHS.SUPPOSEDLY THE RETURN POLICY RAN OUT MARCH31. WELL ON APRIL 5TH THE CHARGING PORT WENT OUT. I WENT TO MY VERIZON STORE AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW MOPHIE BECAUSE THE CHARGING CORD WON'T STAY IN THE MOPHIE CHARGER..THIS WAS A RATHER EXPENSIVE ADD ON AND I WOULD THINK THERE WOULD BE A LONGER RETURN POLICY. IT WORKED GREAT UNTIL I COULD NO LONGER CHARGE MY I PHONE WITH IT.WHAT NOW YOU MIGHT ASK, I DON'T KNOW BUT, WHAT I DO KNOW IS I WON'T BE ORDERING ANOTHER ONE.
Battery function is great but case does not protect against even minor drops
March 16, 2014
I wanted a case that would let me make it 16 hours without having to charge my phone. The charging feature works really well and is reliable. When I dropped my phone from my nightstand onto my carpeted floor (about 2.5 feet), I noticed 2 chips in the paint on the outside of the case. The first time I dropped my phone onto the sidewalk in this case, the whole case fell apart and my phone shattered. I've had other thinner cheaper cases do a far better job of protecting my phone.I would only recommend this case to people who never drop their phone.
Not too good
September 29, 2013
Well, first this was obviously a repackaged item. The wrapping wasn't new. I tried it anyway and it worked well at first so I kept it. Three months later, it started to malfunction. I received an error message that this unit was not compatible and it stopped charging. This was probably a returned item to this seller and it was resold as new when it was in fact used and it malfunctioned after a short time. Maybe it was a counterfeit? I bought another Mophie for my wife's Iphone 4 from another seller at the same time because she wanted another color, red. It was wrapped in new packaging and still works well. While mine worked, it worked well...but It wasn't new as advertised and it stopped working in a short period of time (90 days).
The product description claimed "Used, Like New". "Well used and barely functioning" would have been a better description
May 23, 2013
I ordered this for my iPhone 4, the fit was very nice but the condition of the until was very poor. The first unit had scuff marks on all four corners, one corner had deep gouges in the plastic as if it was dropped and it skidded across concrete. The USB port was loose and the plastic around it was cracked. The replacement unit was in better physical condition but it lasted just 2 months. One month past the 30 day return policy for Seller1ON1.The battery started to slide around inside the unit and shortly thereafter it stopped taking a charge. They recomended I get warranty support from Mophie directly.Great concept for the actual device – unbelievably poor quality and description from Seller1ON1.Will not be buying from Seller1ON1 again!
Buy a different Mophie
November 8, 2011
I have had a black mophie for two years and it is just great. I bought a new iphone 4s in white and bought the white case. The pictures do not represent the actual product. The material on my black one is a dull soft smooth finish. The white one I bought here is a shiny metal. the distance between the camera lens and the top piece in the photo is much greater than actual. When you pull the top part off it can bend and break at the weakest point below the camera. As a result the white piece under the camera lens broke off. Will not charge the 4S so I use it on my wife's 4.
Not durable!
September 6, 2011
This product is very sleek looking and I was very impressed with how my new Iphone looked in this case. I liked the fact that I did not have to go out and purchase all new cords as I had many usb cords from my years of using blackberries and droids. All this happiness was very short lived however when I dropped it. It completely slipped right out of my hands and went crashing to the ground - and I mean crashing. At first, it looked fine, a little scratched but still ok. Then later that night I plugged it in to charge and nothing! The little trip it went on caused it to no longer charge. When I called customer service, they said there was nothing they could do as is it was my fault. Very disappointing. Going for the PowerSkin - hopefully that will be better for my butter fingers but definitely not as good looking.

I want to love it, but I do not like the charging ...
October 3, 2017
I want to love it, but I do not like the charging port. You cant use the phone while its plugged in because its sticking out the side. It also feels like it will fail quickly. If I do decide to keep it, it will only be used for times when I wont have a charger with me for the day.
Works perfect, when it works
November 18, 2013
I won't bother you with the technical specs of this phone. It was easy to set up, comes with the cable to charge it via USB and that's it. It actually provides decent protection for your phone so that's a plus. After my first full charge that's when I started struggling with this product. It gave me enough extra battery to not worry about it for the entire day and then some. The next day when I plugged it into my computer to charge, it charged up a few minutes and then all of a sudden stopped charging and then started again without moving it at very random moments. After trying very hard to get it to the max I realized in use that it didn't fully charge. Then comes my third attempt at this. Plugged it in and watched it for a while to make sure nothing weird happens, after about 20 minutes I felt pretty confident I could just leave it all night to charge and to my surprise next morning, it was completely discharged.Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I believe that for such a simple thing it should just work out of the box. Returned it shortly after purchasing
Flimsy
December 17, 2012
For the price of this item I expected a much better built unit. I thought by going the more expensive route I would be getting a better quality item. WRONG after using this item for about 2 months I noticed a decline in the charging power. it started out ok but the more I charged it the less it held the charge. The unit is no longer operational due to the flimsiness of the charging port. I did not even drop my phone, I was plugin in the cord into it to charge it and I noticed that I had to hold the connector in so it would charge. if I let it go it would stop charging. I tried another cable thinking the one I was using was bad, same thing happened. then I notice that a little piece of something had fallen out of the charging port. it was the connector inside it that had broken off. so now the unit is useless since there is no way I can charge it anymore.
Great product with issues
May 16, 2012
***UPDATED*** I returned my defective Mophie pack in May and received a replacement. New pack arrived and did not hold the same charge, or provide same life. Today, about 3 weeks into having it, it stopped working althogether. It shows a complete charge on the pack, but will not charge the phone.I love this item, and really wanted it to work, but after 2 of these have failed inside of 5 months, I am looking elswhere.I would love to give this 5 stars, as I have raved about this product to everyone I know. The problem is with the product design, and the resulting issues that many people have posted about. I read the negative reviews, and had figured that it was just some isolated issues. I purchase my Mophie in January, and it stopped working by April. I loved this device, it allowed my phone to call for a full day of constant use with a charge. No need to recharge or turn the phone off, it is extremely useful. The problem is that it only lasted 4 months. The USB cradle on the phone suddenly opened up too much for the USB cable. I have seen many other posts about the same problem. I returned the Mophie and a replacement was sent. I can only hope that this goes beyond 4 months. Apart from this issue, I love this product.
Great battery life and sleek design for extended battery - Unfortunately, poorly designed charge port.
January 18, 2012
I was very anxious to get this case in my hands, as we all know how short of a time span the iPhone gives you with it's battery life. Upon receiving the case, it came with almost a full charge. I plugged it in,let it fully charge, and began my daily use.Weight: It does add a considerable amount of weight to carry around in your pocket all day. I've been using the case for almost a year, and it's not that big of an issue. I've had it in my pocket at work in dress pants, and in jeans/shorts outside of work. Once you get adjusted, the weight is a non-issue.Functionality: The buttons all work well and the battery life indicator at the bottom is a nice-to-have. When using your iPhone camera, the case does not cause issues with pictures. The case design does a decent job at amplifying the sound; better than no case, but I still prefer a sounddock of some sort. The biggest issue I have with the case is the charge port. I am currently on my 4th case. I will admit that the support/shipping of Mophie has been great, but I have to give this product a 2 star rating, simply because of the engineering setback. Even when you try to be careful and gently plug in the cable, the port seems to eventually break loose. If you want to have an awesome case, but only for a year (warranty length), than this product is for you.
Cool with (many) issues
November 3, 2011
I'm redoing my review because I've become soured on the product. The first one (I'm on number 3 now) had the micro usb jack break because it won't contain the power charging cord. The end of the usb cable doesn't go deep enough into the jack for it to get a solid connection and it ends up falling out a lot. Enough of putting the cable back in again and again and the jack is toast. The 2nd one came, after a pretty good RMA process and the usb jack on it was better. The downfall of the 2nd one was it stopped taking a charge and the LED's on the bottom quit lighting up,and it wouldn't charge the phone even with the switch on. Battery #2 goes back to the shop and is replaced again.#3 arrived, and the USB jack has the same issue as #1. A firmware change seems to have happened because the charge lights used to be on when you plugged it in, and now they only come on when you push the button. Not a deal breaker, but it's different. I'm already afraid the bad USB jack will be death of #3, and while I will baby it, you can see the future after 2 failures.Despite the good customer service from the company, the quality issues make it difficult or impossible for me to recommend the product. It holds a lot of promise, but the issues are too numerous for a (at the time I bought it) $100 cell battery. I think I know why the price has fallen $30!Buyer beware!

Mophie cases are great...except for the fact that I have had 2 so far and both fall apart after normal daily usage. The charging port slowly loosens, and degrades, to the point where you have to push your charging cord into it repeatedly in hopes that it will stay in and actually charge. The first one I had (years ago) loosened so much that it fell apart (couldn't put a cord in it at all it was so broken). The one I have not I have to push my cord in, over and over, until the charge shows it is charging. I will not buy Mophie again, not worth the cheap construction.
Knockoff and Fake
May 29, 2013
I was at first very excited to recieve this Mophie Juice Pack, since being a developer my phone is used almost 24/7 testing apps, etc. I bought this case in hopes of improving my battery life. As soon as it arrive, however, it look liked something was wrong, the case was badly damaged, it look liked it had been dropped off the back of a UPS truck. Now granted, the shipping box was in fine condition so I'm NOT blaming this on UPS. I could tell a couple of things were wrong when I received this.1. Major cosmetic damage the plastic back was separating from the battery.2. It wouldn't charge3. One reviewer mentioned that it would come fully charged, it came uncharged. How I went about this? Well, I contacted Mophie support, to let them know this was a problem and to just give them a heads up. Instead of thanking me for the information, they decided to go one step further and BLAME me for this. They BLAMED ME for purchasing a counterfeit product and said they wouldn't do anything about it. Is that how you handle customers Mophie? Overall I am not only disappointed with the seller for false leading me, but with Mophie for not even handling this in the correct manner.
Beware of Orders Fullfilled by Amazon
November 9, 2012
The Mophie Juice Air Pack is a great unit. I bought one and lent it to my son during Hurricane Sandy. He thought it was great and would not give it back. I bought another in white for my grandaughter and she loves it.But I had a very bad experience when I ordered another for myself from a 3rd party vendor on the Amazon website. I ordered a new unit on Nov 5 and recieved it very promptly 4 days later on Nov.9. I was very disappointed when I opened the package. The Juice Air Pack was not in a Mophie box like my previous purchases. Instead the Juice Air Pack was in a plastic envelope with a sticker saying NEW. A second plastic envelope with a Blackberry label contained a USB cable. I opened the envelope and found a Juice Air Pack that was USED and SCRATCHED up. It did not work. I called Amazon customer service the day I received the defective used unit. The service representative could not understand how Amazon could have let this happen. However, the only thing they could do was refund the purchase price. He said that even though the fullfillment of the order was by Amazon it was sold by a vendor other then Amazon. If I wanted a replacement unit I would have to reorder it. The price to reorder it was $11 more then it was 4 days before. To summarize: I had to pay $11 more to replace a misrepresented defective used unit which was sold to me by the same company I ordered it from 4 days before. Amazon dropped the ball. They are completely responsible for this problem because they did the shipping and stocking for the 3rd party vendor.Amazon can not control their vendors sales prices even though they do the shipping.Update Nov 10: The day after I ordered the replacement unit at the higher price, the price from a different 3rd party vendor dropped back down $11. It appears ordering from 3rd party vendors is like playing the stock market. I called Amazon customer service again and was told they could not adjust the price of 3rd party vendors. My only recourse was to refuse delivery and reorder the item at the lower price. I did that. I also obtained additional information that 3rd party items fulfilled by Amazon are stored and shipped from Amazon warehouses. This being the case, the original shipment of the unboxed scratched used case is Amazon's fault. They did nothing about rectifying the situation. After seeing my original review, the 3rd party vendor contacted me by phone and apologized. They said they would never let this happen and somehow Amazon shipped the incorrect item from the wrong inventory. They also offered to have a new unit shipped at the original price. The obvious solution to this problem would have been for Amazon customer service to obtain a replacement unit by contacting the vendor after hearing my initial complaint. I was unable to do this because Amazon did not supply any vendor contact information.
Absolutely DISGUSTED
October 16, 2012
SEE PRODUCT PICS ABOVE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!I received an obviously counterfeit item. The fit and finish on the unit I got were laughable. The seams on the front where the top and bottom pieces "fit" together were so bad It looked like one was from one device and one from another, completely out of whack. I sent the unit back for a replacement.Amazon replaced the item with a HORRENDOUS imitation, much worse than the first. The unit arrived in an envelope, in a baggie. With the USB cable held together with a twist tie. Not kidding. I didn't even open it. I did take several pictures of it because I am in complete disbelief Amazon even allows this junk on its website. Beyond the obvious FAKE-ness of the whole thing, the unit was nicked and scratched.I FINALLY got the item I wanted in the first place--when I walked into the Apple Store and bought it. I found out from the Mophie representative that NO ONE EXCEPT APPLE sells the Juice Pack Air featured in Apple Stores and on the Apple website. It is a completely different and far superior design.--The Apple unit has the top completely open for ease of use with any headphones and easy access to the power button--The seam between the two pieces is at the bottom instead of the top, and their is no gap at all between the two--You can remove the bottom piece to easily dock the phone in an Apple accessory and still have the unit protected by the snug snap-in case that is the top piece.--The unit itself is sleeker and not at all bulky like the one sold by Mophie and Amazon.--Due to customer comments, the LED lights do not stay on constantly while charging via the USB cable. You just press the button to check the progress.I was told by Mophie that Apple designed their own version of the Juice Pack Air specifically to Apple standards that is available only through Apple directly.Forget ordering elsewhere, and get it straight from Apple. The difference is night and day!
Over-rated Garbage!
September 24, 2012
I've had this item for barely 2 MONTHS and in just that time I'd noticed that the battery life had diminished by almost half, but that was nothing compared to my plugging the cable in to charge it and the mini USB port on the side of the case BREAKING OFF AND FALLING INSIDE THE HOUSING!!! I was amazed, it snapped off inside the housing! I consider myself a handy fellow so I took the damn thing apart to see about fixing it myself (Since Mophie refuses to answer emails if you haven't bought directly from them) and I found that there is literally nothing holding or supporting the MINI USB port in place, it's just attached WEAKLY to the circuit board, which after little use it snaps off. As far as I've tried there are no good ways to go about fixing this. VERY bad flaw to make the connecting point that gets used everyday the weakest part of the design.Mophie Juice Pack Air Case and Rechargeable Battery (Black, Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4)
Beware of Knockoff Cases
February 17, 2012
I had to send back to of these units before learning the Mophie cases offered here are knock offs. My problem with both was that the soft aluminum around the sides where the USB port is located is very weak and will form hairline cracks causing it to not charge after couple weeks of use.I couldn't understand why these cases were so highly rated and I was having so much trouble. But after reading dozens of reviews I read where someone suggested that these cases were knockoffs and gave it indicators as to how to know for sure. After ordering my third one from Mophie.com, I now can concur with his analysis. The review that I read had a whole list of ways to know the difference but the two main points that I found were these:1. A genuine Mophie case will come fully charged.2. The USB cable that comes with the charger will have the Mophie logo on it.I am now convinced I own the best chargeable iPhone case available.

Newly designed Mophie Case is very bad design indeed
April 15, 2015
The original Mophie case for the Iphone 4S was awesome as the case separated above the center point and would never come apart no matter how many times you dropped your phone, threw it (by accident) or whatever... It was the best thing ever made for protecting and powering your phone. BUT they changed the case now and it separates at the bottom and literally falls off just about... everytime you plug in/out your cable, beware it will pull off the bottom of the mophie case (the power source). Unreal and stinks. I am very very dissatisfied with this new case. I thought it was the original one I had bought two years ago (yes it lasted about that long but the power button on the side finally started flipping out after so many hits to the ground) That switch to turn on/off the juice is actually in a bad spot on both versions of this case, as it is on the bottom left corner so if you drop your phone and it hits that corner... your just asking for the switch to go faulty and stop working right or at all (like it finally did for me). Bottom line, new design of this stinks bad!
$100+ Mophie Stopped working after 6 months. Never buying Mophie product AGAIN.
January 15, 2014
Purchased the juice pack plus outdoor edition and paid over $100 (genuine Mophie product not fake). Stopped working with a "this accessory may not be compatible" with my iphone 4 in about 6 months. Opened a tech support claim and they responded "out of warranty period" (1 year). Asked them if anything else could be done or if they knew why it stopped working, and they replied 'show us a receipt and we will fulfill warranty', rather than answering my questions. Lousy product backed up by even worse customer service; I AM petty enough to waste my own time to make sure I tell everyone I know never to buy a Mophie product. No wonder this case is pulling less than three stars on ratings. Here was the interaction verbatim:From Mophie Tech support:"Thank you for contacting mophie, and creating a case with our technical support department. In order to move forward with your warranty replacement, we will need a copy of your receipt from your purchase of this mophie device. Please reply to this email with either a scanned copy or a photo of your receipt. Please make sure the date of purchase is visible in the file you send to us. Alternatively, if you do not have a copy of your receipt, you can send a clear picture of the product label showing the serial number on the device. Please do not send images of the packaging. If you purchased your item through our website, we can look your order up internally -- if you have not already submitted your mophie order number, please reply to this email with the number."My Reply:Hi,I do not have a receipt so I've attached a picture of the serial number. the address below is correct.Mophie reply:mophie offers warranty coverage for products within one year of purchase under our Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The details you provided to us, however, show that you are outside of the warranty period. We are, therefore, unable to exchange your product for a replacement item.If you are able to locate your receipt which verifies that the purchase was made less than one year ago, please let us know.My reply: as stated in the form I filled out, this was purchased approximately 6 months ago. does the serial number indicate it was purchased more than one year ago? I bought this from what I believed was an authorized retailer ( verizon I believe).I understand if replacement under warranty is not an option. are there any others? or would you be able to speculate as to why the case is no longer charging the phone? this information may inform my decision to purchase another.Mophie reply:The serial number states the device is outside of warranty. If you're able to contact the retail store to obtain a copy of the sales receipt which states otherwise. We can then move forward with the warranty claim.
Counterfeit product
June 12, 2013
Please take care when purchasing these products. I purchased the pack from iSaturn around June of last year and it worked fine. It didn't work amazing, but did allow my husband to go an extra day without charging. About 2 weeks ago the USB port was having issues (connections came loose or something similar) and we could no longer charge the battery. I emailed Mophie with all of the information on my case- in fact, I sent them the serial code on the case and they didn't claim it was non-authentic or anything of the sort (very odd). They paid for shipping and had me send it in to their warehouse since it was still under warranty (yet, the 1-year warranty expired as it was sitting in their warehouse awaiting a check-up). I received this email:"Thank you for sending your product back to mophie for warranty service. We examined the juice pack that you recently returned to our customer care center and have determined that it is not an authentic mophie product.Accordingly, since the product is counterfeit, we cannot replace or repair the product and are sending it back to you. The item shipped to us has been returned to you via U.S. Postal Service. We advise that you request a refund from the seller from whom you purchased the product."So I advise that if you buy a phone case of any sort offline, you should certainly buy it from the official website. Amazon has no way to police counterfeit products. The only reason I purchased this off of Amazon is because I was saving money on shipping- the phone case cost nearly the same on their website. This is VERY common with Mophie cases and other higher-end phone cases and battery packs on Amazon. I am just thankful that the case did serve a function for nearly a year, while others mentioned theirs broke within 2-3 months.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM THIS SELLER
May 24, 2013
I bought this case thinking I was getting a great deal, and feeling fairly confident that it was legitimate, since the seller-- u.s.electronix --claims that it is a Mophie brand case. It is not. Mine stopped working after a couple months, and when I sent it in to Mophie for warranty, they told me it was counterfeit.I contacted the seller and he tried to tell me it was not counterfeit, that since I didn't have the original receipt Mophie just said that it was fake. I trust Mophie.I tried to get my money back for this case but the seller avoided and ignored many of my emails, and even replied to one with just a "." (period). I only got a response from them when I went through Amazon customer service to contact them. Then they beated around the bush in several different emails, and finally allowed me to send it back for a refund. I told them to pay for my return shipping too since they screwed me and they agreed.I sent it back through UPS to ensure that it would get back (I've had multiple bad experiences with the sticky fingers over at USPS). I had to pay $12.85 for shipping but I got the tracking number and receipt. In about a week, I got confirmation from UPS that the product had been delivered, and after a week, the money had not been returned to my account. I emailed the seller, and no reply. So I had to go through Amazon customer service again. When the seller responded, he said he had never received my package. Even though I got confirmation from UPS! By then it had been two and a half weeks since the package was confirmed as received. And I was out my original $43.10, plus the $12.85 for the shipping, plus the actual case that I paid for! And meanwhile the seller was sitting pretty with the $43.10 and the counterfeit case in his pocket.I filed an A-Z claim but it was denied because the purchase had been more than 90 days prior. But that is only because the crappy fake product lasted just over 90 days before it broke. I sent another claim that was sent to the investigation team at Amazon, but I still don't know if the seller received any repercussions because the results are kept private. I was offered a $20 promotional gift certificate from Amazon which I said was ridiculous because I had spent $55.95 on a fake product from a seller that Amazon itself authorized. Then I was offered a $30 certificate instead -_______-.I went through a different Amazon customer service rep and was able to get another $15 back in promotional gift certificates, then another rep finally gave me the last $10.95. I never got the cash back to my account, but at least I make a lot of Amazon purchases so I was able to use it. The whole process took me more than a month and a half and many many many emails and chat sessions and phone calls. In the end I got reimbursed through gift certificates but this seller is still sitting pretty!! He still has my money since Amazon is the one that paid me back, and he has the fake case he sold me too.THIS WAS THE WORST BUYER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! DO NOT BUY FROM U.S.ELECTRONIX!! YOUR PRODUCT WILL BE FAKE AND HE WILL MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT ON YOU TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!
COUNTERFEIT
March 25, 2013
DO NOT BUY FROM DAILYBUY!!!! It may SEEM like you're spending so very little money for a good product, but you AREN'T! You'll have to dish out on costs to send this back to the seller once you find out that it is a COUNTERFEIT ITEM.My "adventure" with my phony Mophie Juice Pack Plus case began when I received this from my mother as a gift. She had purchased it from DailyBuy. It seemed to work well, with one single complaint--the instructions advised that I should be able to put my phone in the case and never have to take it out to charge it, that I could charge the case directly. This was problem number one. After charging the case, I'd have to remove my phone and plug it back into the case's USB port. But that wasn't a big deal, so I just went on.However, one night a few weeks later, I plugged in the USB cord to the case (just like every night). I woke to find that the case and my phone hadn't been charged all night. I had to jiggle the cord and hold it perfectly to get the case to charge. Mophie supplies a year warranty on all cases, so I sent it in to them. They emailed me two days later with the following email:"Dear Emily,We have examined the juice pack that you recently returned to our customer care center and have determined that it is not an authentic mophie product.Accordingly, we cannot replace or repair the product and are sending it back to you. Your counterfeit unit has shipped back to you via U.S. Postal Service with the tracking number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxWe advise that you request a refund from the seller from whom you purchased the product....If you would be so kind to forward the contact information of the seller of the product to us, it will help us police the marketplace for counterfeit products. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your interest in mophie. If you would like to learn more, please visit mophie's counterfeit page."Needless to say, I contacted DailyBuy and requested a refund. I asked that they put the refund on my credit card instead of my mother's and gave them three different options about how to contact me should they not be able to do so. They refunded it to my mother and completely ignored my request. I wish I hadn't already written seller feedback, because they would definitely be getting negative feedback. All in all, dish out that extra $30 and just buy straight from Mophie. It's not worth the hassle and the counterfeit item.

I am disappointed that the black trim around the base of the case is peeling. I keep my phone in a case always and I am not hard on mobile phones. I think this should not be happening to a product that I have only had for four months.
