Great Barbeque Grill - Perfect for Camping!
September 11, 2017
I purchased this as a surprise for my hubbies birthday! It definitely deserves a 5 star rating as it's the nicest portable grill we have ever had! It's made very well, it's sturdy and I'm sure it will last us a long time. It's heavy, so it's not for packing in anywhere. It's perfect to take along in our camper and all the cooking is done outside! The grill is quick to heat up and every bit as good as our home grill. The grill was easy to clean when we arrived home. The inner part doesn't come out (wish it did) so you must wipe it out all intact and set up. I used hot water and a sponge letting it soak a few minutes and it cleaned up like new.
Gift from the Camping Gods!
August 11, 2017
This grill is perfect for our camping trips. We have a small travel trailer and, although we have a kitchen, we prefer to cook outside. This is a perfect solution for our cooking needs. We bought the griddle and the stove top attachment and we do all of our cooking on this sturdy grill. It sets up and collapses easily and we LOVE how easy it is to move around when it's set up. Small bottle propane lasts quite a long time for us. But we also have the adapter hose to connect to our trailer propane or an extra large bottle. We loved this so much we bought one for a friend.
Wonderful Grill - You'll Be Glad You Purchased.
June 5, 2017
I absolutely love this grill. We have other big grills and they take a long time to heat and are not portable in the least. This grill is perfect! It's easy to put together, really easy; it moves around on the patio to exactly where I want it with little effort; and it's a breeze to cook on. If you marinate or season your food prior to cooking, the charcoal grills are only marginally better. Seriously, I wouldn't trade this grill for any other grill.I spray the grates with Pam prior to cooking for easy clean up and I haven't had any problems cleaning the inside of the grill at all. I use one of those Mr. Clean magic sponges and it wipes clean easily. I bring the grates in and wash off in the sink - it's easy.I've cooked burgers, chicken, stuffed peppers wrapped in bacon, salmon, and veggies from the garden. We haven't had anything that wasn't great!
I like it
May 28, 2017
after owning several small bbq's for rv use, I have found this grill to be the best. Cooks evenly with no flare up or grease fires. Folds relatively flat. Easy to clean. The only complaint I have is that when pulling the grill by its handle, the pull out tray on the wheel side always slides out and drags on ground.
... night for the first time and the wife was pleased with it
April 22, 2017
Used it last night for the first time and the wife was pleased with it. The only draw back was I went to move it and it folded up on me. Bit of a surprise no damage to the unit. Just made me more aware of moving the unit. Even a short distance.
Very nice portable gas grill
September 10, 2014
Only had this one day. Set it up and grilled chicken last night. Works very well. Set up was easy. Takes a little patience to remove protective film from side tables, but that's minor. Very easy clean up. Cooking grates fit in kitchen sink. Best advice is to read through manual. It tells you that indirect heat is best. With lid down and both burners on low, thermometer still went to 600 F. The fuel supply regulator that screws into back of grill may need help from pliers. I couldn't get it all the way on by hand. Just be careful not to overtighten. For the money, I think I'm going to like this grill. I cooked a whole, cut up chicken and used only one side of grill. Could cook at least a dozen burgers at one time.

Easy to transport and ready for use
September 12, 2016
Can never go wrong with a weber. This grill is everything I hoped it was. Easy to transport and ready for use. Very well made. Metal does not bend or flex anywhere on this thing. Definitely recommend.
No regrets!
July 11, 2016
This was a great investment! I love that the "legs" hold the lid on for easy carrying. Perfect cooking area for 2 people. Cooked 2 ribeyes to perfection just as on a regular size grill. cooked 2 salmon cuts on wood planks ... both times with veggies on the side. Well worth the money. We did take the advice of another reviewer and lined the bottom with aluminum foil before adding coals to make for easy cleanup while traveling.
Best choice for urban grillers
June 2, 2016
My urban family agrees that this is the best purchase we made last year. We live in a city and have no yard. Our opportunities for grilling come when we take it to a park or go travelling and we have adored languid afternoons in the park, and using it at rest areas for lunch while on tedious drives. But we must store the grill indoors when we are not using it. This grill is more functional for our purposes than the round version Weber sells, and it compacts beautifully for the trunk of our car. It sits easily in the two-wheeled shopping cart we use to walk it to the local park, and it sits easily on the shelf. We once had a Smokey Joe, which we loved to cook on, but was much less convenient to transport and store.I hope Weber keeps families like mine in mind going forward. How about a kit that fits inside this grill, consisting of a small chimney starter, container for briquettes, and grill brush/tongs and spatula? That would let us transport everything we need in one neat package
I Love this grill!!
June 15, 2014
This grill is wonderful for small barbecue jobs I can grill two mid size steaks or 6 to 8 pieces of chicken depending on size of the pieces. I like to leave about a quarter of the grill rack without any charcoal under it for moving finished food to that area to keep it warm and not on top of coals. I also place aluminum foil in the inside bottom of the grill but leave the holes open on the side of the grill while cooking and when I'm ready to dump the coals off the bottom grill shelf it makes for a super easy clean up and my grill will last even longer. I can just fold up the foil with the cooled coals and toss. It grills beautifully and after I'm done grilling and have closed all the vents the grill cools down fairly fast . I did buy a small aluminum table for 22$ to place this on so that I can have it up off the ground. When I received the grill it took me perhaps 5 minutes to attach the handles and the legs. Instructions were simple. Very happy with this grill.
Convenient and Very Well-Built!
June 27, 2011
Weber makes a great traveling grill. I use this little grill all the time! I love how it can fold-up and you can carry it by the handle. The legs of this grill wrap around and cinch the lid closed by two notches in the lid. The area of the grill surface is perfect for my lady and I. I use about 24 pieces of coal every time and this seems to cover the bottom and provide enough heat. There is a grate that is used for the coal so that the coals don't rest on the bottom of the grill. This provides circulation to keep the coals burning well. Cleaning the ash out of the bottom either requires you to flip the grill upside down and shake it or you have to take the legs out to get the coal grate out so you can dump the ash. There are vents in the bottom that open and close and vents in the top too. This grill beats-out the rest simply because of the quality and design! I would highly recommend this grill.

Tricky to unfold and setup or move once it's setup it does a fine job.
November 1, 2017
I've been wanted one of these for years and finally ordered one. I'm not an expert at grilling but hope to get good at using one of these things. Here's a couple of things I noticed right off that when setting the grill up the built-in stand is a bit clunky in operation. There is a trick to getting this grill to stand. Its clumsy to setup because there isn't a easy way of grabbing on to the grill and stand at the same time while un-folding it. Once its setup if you grab the handle on the wheeless side of the stand and try to move it there's a good chance the base will slip out of it's holder and the grill will end up in your hand horizontal to the ground which is not good especially if it's full of food. The 2 small side shelves are handy but there's nothing to hold them in when your not using them so when your trying to set the grill up or put it in the carrying case the shelves tend to slide out and get in the way. I've used the grill a number of times now and never had any troubles with lighting it or cooking on it. The burners seem to provide pretty even heat across the grills. It works very well for us as full time RV travelers as far as the grill cooking area it provides and it's storage foot print when stowed away. Coleman RoadTrip LXX Grill
Great for camping
June 29, 2017
We wanted a larger grill than the table top ones but was still portable. This thing works great. We bought the full griddle to go with and it works perfect. We made breakfast for 12 and dinner twice on one fuel bottle. Very happy. The only issue is when it is folded and you are moving it the back tray will drag unless you lower the angle. Not a big deal just makes you have to walk a little lower.
Seems it's just two screws to replace with a good one. The stem is hanging unattached
June 21, 2017
Chars steaks (my biggest worry after reading other grills that didn't get hot enough) Solid piece of workmanship. One problem and I'm unable to find a way to correct via Amazon or Coleman - the thermometer in the lid was broken upon arrival. Seems it's just two screws to replace with a good one. The stem is hanging unattached, coil visible. Coleman... are you listening? Can I get a replacement thermometer?
Almost perfect
June 8, 2016
For a backyard bbq, neighbor had one and that sold me on it for a camping unit. But, it is very susceptible to light wind/breeze. No wind screen on this model, so just be aware when cooking to temperature. I couldn't boil coffee percolater on this, with or without the stove grate accessory. Once i develop some sort of wind screen, will love it.
Nice grill for the $$ with nice accessories.
May 27, 2016
I love this grill. I could be a little more solid like some of the other brand-name high end grills, but for the price this is a solid winner with great accessories. I have the porcelain half-griddle and the half-stovetop, both of which are also high quality. This would be nice if it stored upright folded together but it doesn't very easily. It will however hang well from a couple of bicycle hangers (attached properly of course).
Coleman Roadtrip LXX grill is trippin'
March 18, 2016
I've used this grill several times since I bought it. once I got the hang of it I was grilling and grubbin' I tried to fire it up this past weekend but the propane kept cutting out after a few seconds. i'm going to try and reset the regulator as some youtube videos show. hopefully that fixes the problem, and if not I am going to be one un-happy camper.

Great grill, just a little pricey.

I like this grill. It's a bit expensive for what you get, but I needed a rectangular, portable grill to fit my needs. Like most Weber products, it is well made and I expect it to last a long time.
Best portable briquette BBQ
March 25, 2017
This is a terrific portable bbq for those of us who like briquette cooking. Only problem is the lid keeps hitting the ground cause there's no convenient hanging mechanism (it does have something that's supposed to work, but either it doesn't, or I'm just clumsy...
Good Grill
October 9, 2015
I've used the grill several times now -- highlights are:+) The food grill ends up being very close to the heat source beneath (charcoal, wood, etc.) I like this because my food sears better and cooks faster, if that's what I'm going for.+) Sturdy enough -- works well to grill in our backyard, and would also transport well if we went camping or something.-) One of the top, circular vents is "too loose" -- there's little friction between the vent and the lid, so it's harder to position the vent, and it could move during a rainstorm or windy weather, admitting water into the grill body... The other top vent works well, good friction.-) No ash pan -- to get rid of ashes, you must dump them out or scoop them out.
very good. arrived in damaged box
July 18, 2015
very good. arrived in damaged box. one side of one end where the handle attaches was mashed in pretty good which made putting the handle on quite a chore and the flipping legs are not even so it wobbled until we stabilized with a rock. otherwise it's great. takes a bit of getting used to adjusting the side vents. wide open it burns real, real hot. once we got the air flow, great cooker.
Nice space-saving grill for two
November 16, 2013
This is a great little grill for two people. It will fit 2-3 slabs or meat, or some meat and a foil pouch of vegetables. It's about the size of a bread box. -1 Star as ours came missing the plastic cover for one handle. We've forgotten ours outside once or twice and it's been rained on. No noticeable rust though the metal parts are pretty filmy looking. The side vents are a bit simplistic and hard to move when hot (use handle of a utensil for this). The biggest drawback to this grill is that it's a pain to clean. You have to lift out the upper grill and then either scoop out ash and charcoal or find some way to hold/catch the heavy steel bottom grill (the one that sits under your coal) when you try to dump it. Expect to inhale a lot of dust/ash every time you have to clean. And you have to clean it just about every time you use it since it can't hold much debris. However, I can't see a way to make a grill this small without having this drawback and don't think it deserves a lost Star.Bottom line, we enjoy using this, it cooks up tasty food for two, and would get it again. We have Webers in my family older than I am!
one more time
September 12, 2009
have had a half a dozen different grill over the years, read all of the reviews on this grill on amazon. just the 2 of us at home now, so didn't need a big grill, and never had a weber and needed a small grill.everybody gave this grill great reviews, and i think, i made the right choice it works great, i line the bottom with foil ,which makes for easy cleaning. air holes are on the sides of the top and bottom of the grill.which makes it draft easy to control, and with a weber you do most of the cooking with the lid on, its just a matter of learning to control the heat. was easy to put togather and weber has a web sight to help you with how to and recipes, and will even send you a new recipe every friday. am looking for alot of great cooking except for whole chicken or turkey.

Nice design but runs too rich.
September 28, 2017
Very nice design, easy to set up and store. However, there is no provision to adjust the air fuel mixture. As a result it runs rich with a yellow flame ans high soot production, particularly on the left burner. I am in process of contacting Coleman for repair/ replacement.
Factory damage shipped anyway.
August 2, 2017
Received in a damaged box but damage appeared to be to the box only. Following instructions I got to the point of inserting the handle into the bracket on the grill stand--- it wouldn't fit. I discovered the bracket was dented enough to prevent the handles insertion. I really didn't want the hassle of a return so I attempted to straighten the dent - success! I finished my assembly and the last step was to pull out the shelves before lighting. The left shelf has a deep scratch which probably will get worse with use (moisture). Both of these defects had to have happened at the factory and had to have been noticed by the person who was responsible. Can't blame UPS neither item was exposed to shipping damage. I just expect better quality when I buy the top of the line at a significant premium.

July 11, 2017
Great grill at first! The food was cooked perfectly and easy to use. The unit i had really enjoyed it but started to die down too fast. I checked for leaks but there was none. One propane tank only lasted 20 minutes on low setting. While someone close by same grill lasted an hour with same size propane.I believe i got a defective unit. Not only the gas but when i pull this grill one of the trays folds out and im dragging it on the ground. I really liked this grill and i started carrying it but couldnt carry for long distances. Added photo of the tray.
Not the quality and good design I expected from Coleman.
January 16, 2017
We're not sure what we think about this grill yet. The price is great compared to similar products. It is pretty big and heavy, so even with wheels, it may be difficult to really use camping. The silver paint was already flaking off when we opened the package, and the solid metal in the grate directly over the flames make it hard to get an even temperature and exposure to the flame. Also, the drip tray and grate are so close to the flame that it catches on fire very easily when cooking fatty meats like rib eye or burgers. I guess it will be fine for our purposes, but not the quality I was expecting from Coleman.
You would think the grates the way they are made ...
October 13, 2016
You would think the grates the way they are made would stop grease from dropping on actual burners but they don't. Messy to clean and grease pan hard to pull out as you have to remove propane cylinder to remove and clean out. Tried the foil as some reviewers have done and find it helps but you still have a lot of clean up after pulling the foil away.
Needs the locks redesigned.
June 29, 2015
The only flaw with this grill is the design of the locking mechanism. There's no tension on the level holding the lock in place. And it seems to have been installed backwards because as soon as you pick the end of the grill up to wheel it somewhere gravity takes over and unlocks it. What makes it worse is if you happen to be going over any kind of bumps your grates will spill out everywhere. If you don't scrub everything clean after each use it could create quite the mess depending on where it dumps. Otherwise great product. But the lock is just not practical. This is supposed to be a grill designed for traveling.

this is a great grill . i originally bought this grill for tailgating . i have used for so much more . it has been used as a back up grill at church gatherings , spontaneous trip to the park , and hot days in the house . i have not seen a rust soon .now the negative , maybe its user error . but i put the leg clasp on wrong . i can't get it off to put it on properly . so i have to make sure the legs in the proper position before i fire up the coals ,

In real world use I can't get used to how close the coals are to the grill grate
October 31, 2014
I have the original smokey joe round portable grill, and have used it for years. I bought this grill because I found the design to be really appealing. The square shape and folding legs seemed to make it an ideal grill for packing in the camper when travelling since it would fit better than the round smokey joe that has the fixed legs.I like the vents on this grill too, better than the smokey joe. The biggest downside for me was when I put the grill to use. I find that the distance between the coals and the grill grate is way too close. I gave it time, thinking I could adjust my cooking style, and use fewer coals and learn to control the heat, but I've had this for over a year and used it on several camping trips so far, and just can't get used to how close the coals are to the food.I've gone back to using the smokey joe, and really love it, so the smokey joe is what I take again now on my trips instead of this one. Maybe if the grill grate was adjustable, or the grill was deeper, allowing the coal grate to sit lower, then it might offer a much better cooking experience.
Needs height adjustable cooking rack
October 24, 2014
We were disappointed that the rack on which one places the food to be cooked isn't height adjustable. We have learned that the only way to control the cooking temperature is to vary the amount of charcoal and the length of time it has been burning. This has required a lot of trial and error cooking.

and I would not recommend it to people
June 4, 2017
I've had this grill for a couple years now, and I would not recommend it to people. You can't roll it in the propped up position because it randomly falls out of the hooks and goes smashing to the ground. The right burner is hit or miss on being able to light. At the lowest setting it heats to 400 degrees. The grilling grates are good quality though.
Great grill but for occassional use only
July 13, 2016
I purchased this grill 2 years ago. It is clearly made to be used on the occasional camping trip rather than once or twice a week throughout the year. I was cramped for space on my condo deck and the size of this grill was ideal. I purchased it and loved it. Instant set up and the shelves slide under for a smaller footprint. But, my using it every week for the last 2 years has destroyed it. The bottom has rusted away. Maybe this is all I should have expected; 2 years of use. But it seemed so well built that I honestly thought I would get more use out of it. Disappointing. Edit: I just noticed that it has a 3 year review. I'll submit photos to Coleman and see what they have to say.
I am disappointed in this product
August 23, 2015
I am disappointed in this product. I purchased this because my In-laws were happy with theirs. I do not like it at all. It does not distribute heat evenly, my meats caught on fire several times on one side but were raw on a different side. If I put down the flame it got blown out by the slight breeze, if I turned it up I had a fire on my hands. I bought this for my camping trip, and now I am stuck with a grill that I don't like, since we used it for the entire trip. My husband and I decided to use it only with pots and pans on it, more like a stove. But for that I need to buy another attachment, go figure! Really wish I would have bought the grill at Costco, like many other campers we met.

Works ok, not a true Weber
May 31, 2015
Works ok, easy to carry and stow, the BBQ gets very hot so don't place on a wood or plastic table. The lid and side handles get very hot and it needs a grill grate adjustment. This does not meet the Weber standard, but you get what you pay for.

High hopes, but I was glad when it was finally stolen
March 23, 2015
I hate to rate a Weber product low, because they're great at everything else they do. And their Smokey Joe product is so much better, but I gotta say this thing is not very good. It's too hard to control the heat, the coals are way too close to the food, and I've burned more chicken breasts on this thing than on any other grill I've owned. I bought it because I live in a condo, and this little guy doesn't take up much space, but I've given up on trying to make it work because the only thing I've successfully done is cook flat bread on it. Everything else just burns because the heat is too high, or is undercooked because the coals burn out so quickly.

... of July writing this review because that's just how bad this grill is
July 4, 2016
I am sitting here on the 4th of July writing this review because that's just how bad this grill is. Not once, but three times this grill's fire went out. It is of poor make and quality. The material is already flimsy and bent on parts, and I think I've used it maybe 4 times since I've bought it 3 months ago?I had a very , how to say , anxious experience with this grill. If I wasn't a military trained firefighter, it might have been a bigger issue, this grill decided to close in on itself locking down all vent holes creating a massive hot box with billowing smoke impossible to unhinge itself. Luckily I acted swiftly, ran, and got pot holders and unhinged the bottom. I had to get pot holders because the material of the handles are simply not heat resistant, its cheap quality plastic that simply does not deter the heat at all. Whoever designed this was not intelligent at all, its terrible in every-way. I do not recommend you buy this, I recommend you buy the round grill instead. The entire thing is wobbly and about as shaky as a rusted-through grill I owned for 5 years , there is nothing good about this. In fact, I'm about to go use that grill instead.
Bad impression!

September 4, 2015
The legs that fold up over the lid does not secure the lid to the bottom half. The legs on the older models used to do this, so when you do bring them over the top of the lid, they snap over the bumps. This way when you pick it up, it stays together. This newer model does not, so when you pick it up, the lid just comes off.

Worst grill ever!
March 24, 2014
I assumed after reading all the reviews this would be a sure winner..boy was I wrong. Packaging and assembly was great and easy. When it came to starting the grill that's when disaster struck....I tried wood, I even tried coal and the good kind..Kingsford. On both situations it would not stay warm or lit. I refused to have to fill the whole thing with charcoal but it seems as if that's what it would have taken to get it to actually work. I don't know if that's what everyone else was doing but for me it doesn't take a rocket scientist to learn or know how to start a grill going. This was a waste of 50.00 never again....
