 I'm not sure if you have seen these cloud lamps going around the internet but my wife saw a video of it and showed it to me. I thought they were pretty cool but she loved it. She asked me to get one. I looked them up and I was shocked to see they were just over $3300 and when I showed her that she changed her mind.I still thought they were cool but that is way over my budget so I decided to try and make my own. I have seen a lot of people post their version but I wanted to get as close to the real thing as possible and that is when I saw these sound activated LED lights and that's when lightening struck. Pun intended.All I to do was find a Bluetooth speaker that always stayed on and ready to pair and connected without having to touch a physical button. Simple enough.The flexibility of these lights is what I like the best. You can you use these lights just about anywhere..The low heat of the LEDs makes it possible for me to put them in the cloud lamp. Would the company want me to put them inside a paper lamp? I was looking for some color changing LED lights for my glass-top desk. There were SO many choices to chose from that it was actually frustrating. Once I ran across the NEWSTYLE waterproof LEDs they kind of stuck in my head. Even as I looked at other solutions, my brain kept coming back to NEWSTYLE. After a fair amount of comparison shopping and consternation (there's always a fair amount of trepidation when buying something like this online) I decided to pull the trigger and order the 150 LED lights along with a second section...and they were delivered the SAME DAY. That night I was outside during a bonfire playing the lights, layouts, and settings. These lights are VERY easy to use, the remote is pretty intuitive once you get the gist of it, and it's fun to play with the settings. These lights SHINE and look incredibly awesome...and do an amazing job of constantly changing the personality of my desk. If you're looking for some pretty awesome LED lights, these are a great bet. Their customer service is top notch, also.

Really pleased with the brightness of these LEDs. I was worried since I accidentally bought the 150 instead of the 300 LED strip that it wouldn't do because basically I am using these as my room lights since all I have is a boring lamp. I was impressed with how well these work, even with just one strip! The white isn't the whitest, more like a very very light blue or cool white, but it's enough light to write on a desk for sure. Love the fact you can dim these too. The colors are vivid and bright, and the music controller is very responsive. I found out though yo might have to play around with the distance of the controller because if its too close or the music is too loud in a small room , it can get random and if its too far it won't work. The only real issue I had was the adhesive wasn't the strongest, but nothing a little bit of 3M double sided in a few spots can't help. The light distribution is really even and the strip itself is pretty flexible so you can pretty much fit these anywhere without worries. I'll be buying a second strip to do the other half of my room. LED strips like this one should cost a lot more than what they do, so it's well worth to get them.

Excellent light show! Everything worked perfectly. I bought a second 16.4FT string and the 4 Pin Splitter to go with this kit and it all worked perfectly. The remote control worked perfectly on every setting. The brightness of the lights are amazing. You can also DIM the lights. On one of the music sync settings, you can tap your finger on the table and the lights will turn on and off with you. When I tested it with my boombox and cranked the music up, the lights flashed on and off in time with the rhythm of the music. Compared to a similar set with half the lights that cost more than twice as much, I am very pleased with the Newstyle LEDs. If I need anymore, I'm definitely buying these. They are amazing!

Purchased this "everything you need" set to provide general lighting for the cabin of my boat. Cut the connector from the 120V power supply to hook to the 12V boat supply and used a total of 12.4 feet of the strip. Cutting to length was easy (and plan to seal the cut end). The whitish color of the strip blends nicely into the textured white color of the interior lining making it almost disappear when not on. Initial sticking to this liner material was rather poor/limited, but I used rubbing alcohol to activate the surface of the material and the strip then stuck very well (so far). The primary intent is to only use the white (max light level), yellow (warm conversational lighting), and red (to preserve night vision) colors.Dimming allows for relatively low light levels. Typically, the first press or two of the dim down button doesn't seem to do anything, but then begins to incrementally reduces the level. When the lowest level is reached, the lights blink on each subsequent dim down button press. Haven't double-checked it for sure, but while testing after install, it almost seemed that the controller remembered the light level for each color.Just for giggles, I tried one of the music sync modes and it responded surprisingly well to a small set of portable speakers (Mocreo) out in the cockpit at relatively low level, but honestly, for me, all of the colors are a bit much!!!This seems to be an amazing value. I would definitely buy it again, and just might do that to have spare parts for the future, unless the remote and controller can be purchased separately.

These are as advertised. Really bright and vibrant colors. Puts on a great light show when the stereo is playing. Only disadvantage is that it would be nice if the sound sensor to make lights change to the beat was on it's own wire that could be moved independently. You have to mount the controller with the sound sensor close to the source of the music to get it to react in time with the beat. There is a very short amount of wire between the controller and where the lights plug in. A longer cord would have been beneficial. Still a good buy for the price. I will probably order more.

This set works well. I have ordered several of these over some time and I have noticed a couple of annoying things. First, lights ordered at different times don't always have the same shades of LEDs. Which doesn't really matter, unless you have a chandelier with two strings of these lights, and they don't match... Second, the music sensor boxes vary wildly on how sensitive they are. If one is two sensitive, it is easy to use foam, fabric, or cardboard to block some sound waves. If it isn't sensitive enough for your application....out of luck, I guess. Over all, a pretty decent set of lights, I am sure I will be purchasing more.

Bright LED with good effects and adjustability on the remote. Music strobing mode is nice to look at with a good range of sensitivity adjustability. One LED in the middle of the strip has died but may have been my fault for it being wedged behind something. The flexibility is good and will go around corners well (but don't force it), The strip is a bit sensitive to bending and tugging, and if a connection is broken, it will affect 3 LEDs at a time. The strip has been on 24/7 for a few weeks and still going strong.I took a star off for the lacking adhesive on the backing. It does not stick to anything well and is moderately tacky at best. I laid down another strip of 3M double sided adhesive and mounted to the edge of a table and it has held up well so far.

Great set of LEDs with a remote, and a "beat detector." I purchased one strand originally to use for the interior of a fridge I had received from a friend. I took it to my shop to fill it with beverages for anyone that might stop in. The factory light in the fridge is kind dull, and gets really hot when on for a long period of time, actually warming up the fridge. So i removed the light and took the strip of light that arrived about 3 days after I ordered it with standard prime free shipping.When I got the lights, they came spooled up on a plastic wheel that both makes them compact, but also makes it easy to unspool the amount you need without them coiling, or becoming tangled for any reason. Just slip a pen in the center and pull as needed. Simple time saving and easier to place them.The lights come with a 3m sticky back which is super convenient. It works well enough in a cold moist environment. Because the lights are about 15' long, and the fridge is about 4x2x2, the lights don't exactly lay flat when trying to bend around a corner. I did use a little bit of clear packing tape for the back/top of the fridge to help ensure it wouldn't come loose, or sag. It been in the fridge for about a month now and holding strong. They are bright enough to light the interior of the fridge day or night. With the remote you can change it through a variety of colors. Ive tried a few different brands that come with more shades of colors, but none of the previous less came with a sound detector so the lights will actually dance to a beat.I personally feel that the cyan blue provides the best light, and cooling color. The white actually appears kinda purplish through the tinted glass. The other colors seem bright enough to not be deluded, or tinted as the bad as the white through the glass. I have purchased 2 more strips to use in a project car. i will update photos when I can get them the way I want them.Pros:Great lighting8 colors to choose from8 different functions with color changing to dancing with music16 different brightness choices (2 buttons for increase or decrease.)Comes with remote, and batteriesCons:Remote works about 25 feet from the ir detector.(Has worked about 60 feet away, with patience and perfect aim.)Would be cooler if they came in an actual box, not a heavy plastic cover.Beat detector needs to be about 5 feet from speaker, or speaker destroying volume is needed.All in all, I highly recommend these lights for any kind of home lighting accents. Probably look good under a child's bed behind the skirt to provide an under glow , maybe even scare away monsters.(Don't have kids or I would do this. I might do this to my own bed.) Or accent to stairs or hallways to help the blind find their way in the dark. These are listed as water proof, they may work well with out doors. But I would recommend if using out doors to find an alternative solution to hanging them. Also I can't confirm or deny who "waterproof" these are. Im assuming they are just highly "resistant."

 Doing something similar to another reviewer with my 45' Portofino yacht for accent lighting in various locations. I even used a 3pdt relay that would let me select from either a local lighting controller, or a centralized controller so that the colors would match throughout if wanted for aesthetics. Using the local controller would allow for an on demand reading light, or pathway lighting to the head with a button press. Now in the process of running all of the various strips in multiple locations to a centralized power source and lighting controller via Cat5 cable. It's plenty beefy enough and way less expensive than the rolls of RGB+ cable they sell here on Amazon. The only difficulty I have experienced is with the connections to the cut sections. Sometimes it's a little iffy and one color will go out unexpectedly. Planning on using a voltage regulator to ensure 12V when engines are running to avoid voltage excesses. For the price, you can't beat this deal. When using multiple locations, there will be plenty of extra remotes, and lighting controllers. 5 rolls will do the entire interior of my boat for about $100! End result will be amazing. Video below is only the test sections.

I would have given this product 5 stars if it weren't for one thing. They seem to be perfect for a few hours, then they unstuck and fell off. I applied these lights under two loft beds and everyone loved them. I was the coolest mom ever. Then we left for a few hours and when we returned they were completely off. I read the reviews that some had trouble sticking, so I cleaned the area with alcohol first. Didn't work. Very disappointing. They are useless to me if they don't stick. Today I will reinforce with clear packing tape. Also, should have saved a bit of money to buy the non music strips. My lights only respond to extreme bass even when the music source is right near the receiver.

Love this product so far. I mounted these under my kids' loft beds for a cool effect. The kids love them! The only problems I have are that the glue is not the best on the adhesive side. Also, after a few weeks, the one strips mode does not work correctly where it changes through the seven colors automatically. It stops at the first color. Other than that they are pretty neat and well worth the price!

I got this to put behind my tv and I used it for a little bit, the adhesive wasn't that great and the light connector wore out and they no longer work.

Bought 2 sets of lights. 1 set had 3 LEDs that displayed a different color than the rest of the string. The glue on the back of the strips is not very strong and I had to reinforce the bond with contact cement. Otherwise, they are good for the price.

The LEDs are great, Very bright and colorful. The different light patterns blend really well.Last for about a year outside before it stopped working. Received them today. Plugged it in to check them out. They are very bright, HOWEVER... The remote control is busted, so all they do is flash. Remote seems very cheaply made. Contemplating on returning product, or just buying another set and hopefully a functional remote gets delivered.

For RGB LED light strings, these are pretty standard for the cheap made in China sets. They are pretty bright and really easy to set up. The music reaction is fun for making a room feel like it is a disco club. However, the music reaction is to any noise, so it doesn't necessarily go to the beat.I have a set in each of my kids’ rooms and they love them. They use them all day and night long, having a color for whatever mood they want. I also have a set in my living room above the entertainment center that leave a nice ambient light in the room. They are bright enough to provide light to move around while no other lights are on and as I have them set up indirect, they don’t disturb TV watching. I prefer the waterproof version, even though they are not in a wet location, just because they don’t feel so flimsy when moving them around. However, they are really difficult to cut and require stripping the rubber if you want to get to the contacts for making 90 degree bends. So, these are best use for fairly straight areas.With the waterproof protection however, they are heavier, therefore the cheap sticky backing does not hold very well. If you want to apply these to any rough surface, or anything that is not a perfectly smooth top surface, you will have to use something else to hold them in place. I used hot glue to keep them on my daughter’s vanity and my entertainment set. They have a dimming feature as well, however, once you get to a certain point, you lose whatever color you had it set on as it turns to a single dim blue.

One an additional set of lights are plugged in as claimed can be done, the color and lighting is drastically poorer. Add another and it's crazy. You really can not link these together.

Get better 2 sided tape if you want it to stay up on a vertical wall.

they lasted less than one month outside. What a waste.

Ordered in June last year but wasn't able to open and use it till now. Fast shipping, only reason for 2 stars.The wires which are pre-done were not lined up with the other part. I.e. Blue was connected to green, green connected to blue. Also red did not work at all past three lights, so no red or purple. Took the power box apart to look at the connector there and the wires connected to the electrical board were split and fell off.A lesson learned on my part. I will order from someone else and connect it immediately to make sure it works. My fault for waiting so long.

I bought this item to compliment a dance party I am throwing. Right out of the box it was great, but then problems began to arise. You will find that the microphone is very sensitive to sound. At low listening levels it worked fine, but as I turned up the volume in the room the unit was overwhelmed and stopped providing the sound activated feature. Turn down the volume, and it goes back to working fine.I tried to isolate the unit from the loud music, but that didn't work. I buried it under the couch cushions, put it in a box filled with foam scraps, and still had the same issue with it not working in sound activated mode. I finally found a solution when I hung it out the window and closed the window! Not a good solution because the lighted strip starts right at the control box, and the remote sensor is part of the control box as well. So although it worked, there was a flashing length of LEDs coming in through the window and the remote couldn't be used.Before the day was out with all my location testing, the unit was failing in other ways as well... first it failed to turn off. Hit the OFF button on the remote and the strip goes to RED. I have to unplug it to shut it off. Now the unit fails to do ANY sound activated function, even at low sound levels, and some of the color choice buttons on the remote provide NO result, or give a surprise result; different than what the button would indicate.I would give a lower rating, but the strip lights themselves work great. Right now they still transition through colors in an automated pattern as theyshould when that option is chosen and it's better than no lights at all for my party. It would seem that the control box for the unit is the weak point. I was sad that this new item was unable to do what I wanted, and frustrated that it began to malfunction in the first day.

The music mic absolutely sucks. The tro tronics one looks exactly the same and the mic works way better. To bad they don't sell that one anymore. Leds also arrived with some flickering.

Remote doesn't work. Change battery, still doesn't work. Will be returning.

Power supply didn't work. LED connector housing slides off of wires... now I have to print out a return shipping label, but I don't have a printer... What a pain. If they will send me another one I will change this review

Purchased this for my pool area and made the mistake of getting it a few weeks before I opened my pool, because I missed the return window when they died after two weeks of use. Not much else to say.

DO NOT BUY THIS!I bought two sets of these lights and the first one didn't work right off the bat! Then we tried to hang up the lights on a wall and it wouldn't stick. So I bought new adhesive and tried again, only to find that the lights (after being on for not more then 5 minutes total) were broken. Returning and buying another brand.

I was excited to receive this to use as party lighting, but i received it earlier today and cannot get the lights to turn on. Finally managed to make the blue light on the power supply turn on after messing with it, but still no light. Even went out and purchased a new battery for the remote but can't get it to work. Sad to find this product was a waste of time and money.
