Used these to make light up escrima sticks for my boyfriend's Nightwing cosplay. These are super bright and look great. I used an A23 battery in each stick to power up 4 small LED strips, and they stayed cool to the touch and very bright. I was glad for that, since I didn't want them to get too hot while at the Fan Expo. I still have plenty of these left to use for other things, since it's a whole 5 meters long. These were really simple to use, even though I'd never used LED lights before. Overall, I really loved these and highly recommend them.

I didn't expect the lights to be that great honestly but when I strapped them to the back of my wall mounted TV it blew me away. Not sure how long they will last but definitely a great buy for the price.NOTE: you have to buy a power adapter to power these and a remote if you want to have some customize the brightness or blinking features. This is absolutely perfect gave the look and effect i wanted. The only thing I wish is it had a switch to turn off and on. They are bright and powerful when u go to sleep they aren't powerful enough to disturb you.

Super bright, has a bit of a UV black light effect which is awesome.

It wasn't completely clear what this was from the product description, but it turned out being exactly what I wanted. I was looking for something small that could stick to the floor molding in my husband's "man cave." This one does the trick. It's very small--the tiny LED lights are on a very lightweight, small sticky tape, which was super easy to stick on the molding. It's very small and unobtrusive. The man cave is a smallish room--maybe 12' x 12' (if that). One roll was enough to go around the molding on the back half of the room. I only bought one roll to see if I liked it. I planned on buying another roll for the front half of the room, but this is SO BRIGHT that I think I'll pass on the other half. It provides nice backlighting in the room--the TV is in the front half of the room, and the lights are actually a little too bright to put up there.On a side note, you do need an AC adapter if you plan on running this off of your home's power. However, the LEDs take up very little electricity, so you could easily use them via a battery (like in your car, etc.)

Love these lights! Will get them again, as well as some zip ties to make more! The light is a clear and true white with a somewhat cool cast, if you can understand where I'm coming from with this; it's as it's stated in the description. All of the lights are lit up the way they are needed, and in the plug is two lights if one of them happens (!) to go out. It's a great buy!

Very bright and a good warm white color make this a good selection for outdoor use. I actually used this inside an outdoor awning on a commercial building for nighttime security and it has more than enough light and looks good, too. I don't like the harsh blueish color light that a lot of current LED products have. I used a couple of these connected together along with a an inexpensive digital timer to turn it on/off at my selected times, so I saved a bundle over other lighting options. These have been burning a couple months now and show no sign of failure. I probably voided any warranty by cutting off the plug and hard wiring these into junction boxes in attempt to stay to local code, but with their low cost and ease of install, I should be OK even if I may have to replace one if some destructive jerks have the inkling to damage our building. Well made and with waterproof type connectors between the two ropes, I should see no weather related issues. Brighter than other rope light types I've seen, I studied the previous reviews and went with these.

We bought 4 sets and connected them all together to illuminate our front yard decorative cement curbing. Easy to install, lights up with a yellow glow, looks great, so far no problems!****** This review was written the week after I received these lights, now 1 year later they are all burnt out and even the replacements I ordered 3 weeks ago have burnt out. I had them on for 2-3 hours a night only half the year. The other half they are covered by snow and not visible. What a waste of $$$. Will NOT ever order these again!!!! Don't waste your $$$$$!!!!!

This lighting system is a very good product, well designed and very inexpensive. Of course you can combine strings and if you use the light at a dim setting you can add more than they say. I put these light strings inside my cabinets to replace an old system and am very pleased with the results.The light strings WILL NOT dim with a conventional wall dimmer, you need to buy the one compatible with the strings. They are quite bright, and I use them on a very low setting which I leave and don't change and I put the dimmer inside my kitchen cabinet at the back just in case I want to lighten up someday.Tip: install a plug on top of your cabinets and wire it to a switch.

Performed flawlessly for two years straight -- left outdoors all year, in harsh NY conditions. I purchased 3 sets, and 2 years later I need to replace only one. But you will need to obtain your own mounting hardware.I researched the dickens out of this item, as Amazon reviews disclose that many of these products are of poor quality. Home Depot's included 2 likely ones -- both unavailable on line, or discontinued.I needed an outdoor, electric (non-battery) LED cable rope (string) light for a large, high-floor apartment terrace. It needed to withstand high winds, and rain. It needed to provide a LOT of light, as it would be attached to the railing, but needed to light the entire terrace. I needed to connect several together, to reach the entire railing. I wanted yellowish "warm" light, and not harsh, bright-white or blue-ish "cool" light. Oh, and I needed to install it outside, framing the terrace door, before it wended its way to the terrace railing.These rope lights met my every need - and there were many. The light they emit is both beautiful and warm. It is not glaring, yet it's quite illuminating. They connected easily. Their waterproofing has proved secure, even after 2 years. They arrived quickly, from Amazon.They come with replacement fuses that are easy to overlook. You'll find them in the small plastic bag with the mounting plastic-ware. And about that mounting equipment -- it is laughably inadequate. I was installing outdoors, and required a "malleable iron pipe strap." But the weight and number of the tiny plastic hooks provided would be inadequate even for mounting indoors.But the lights are so perfect, that I've disregarded the lack of adequate mounting hardware, in this review.

If crazy bright blue lights are what is looked for, these work fine. Simple adhesive installment on the backside. Became somewhat uncomfortable, later on, so the roommates rarely used it afterwards. I'd suggest a warmer color or warmer lights in general. Product had no issues, hence the 4 star rating.

Great alternative to other pricey LED light strips. You do have to buy the power supply separately which can be found under the frequently bought together section. These things are bright! I would not recommend installing them where you can look directly at the LED. I bought the blue ones and they have a very good color saturation. There is no switch on this or the power supply which can be remedied by a plug in switch from your local hardware store or here on Amazon. If this had a switch and was clear about the lack of a power supply, this could get 5 stars.

I had to laugh when this arrived. The picture makes it look like a huge spool, but it really is very small. Not a detriment to the product though, just my observation. The lights are a neon blue and VERY BRIGHT! We actually have to unplug them when watching movies on the projector screen. Adhesive on one side holds them well to hard surfaces, but came up rather fast on carpet so I wouldn't use them on that. Left residue around a large plastic mirror frame but did not leave anything when pulled up off of hardwood floors. I guess it just depends on the surface.Nice touch for a home theater, but remember they are very bright. They DO make some things look "white", but NOT like the true black light bulbs that you use on black light posters, as many people have inquired.To plug them in you have to buy the little adapter set that is listed as an additional purchase. But all items are really inexpensive anyway, so worth a try.

Love it but its SOOOO bright it hurts my eyes, i thought it would be like a black light but anything glow in the dark glows only after the light is turned off

(12v 10a) Ran them up the edge of the sidewalk. They worked well all winter. They looked really cool under the snow. I also ran 2 red sets under my 77 Chevy C10. Use a higher amp Power Supply. They say this is a 3 amp string, but a full string will blow a 3 amp fuse in the truck. I had to use 5 amp fuse for each string of lights. I am using a 10a fuse for two strings. Anything lower will blow. I tried an 8 amp fuse.

Crazy super-bright, but I like the color, which as some have noted is an almost purple-blue. Some suggestions for those considering this product:- You will need a power adapter. I bought the LE 12v power transformer specifically for LED strips and it works fine. (C'mon: You were expecting a everything to come with an eight buck 5-meter roll of LEDs?)- For some applications, you may also need additional double-sided 3M mounting tape. The adhesive on the roll is okay, but not great. For us, we're just unrolling the LEDs atop high room dividers and there I only need to tack it down in a few spots. I'd rather not have it be permanently affixed. I would not count on this adhesive working in the long run under adverse conditions. For under counters, I read how one person used a glue gun to tack it in place and that also makes a lot of sense.- For cutting and splicing, you may also need to buy some extra connectors. They're not expensive. For our kitchen room divider, I'm going to need a 90-degree bend, so I bought of those. I've also purchased some extension cables and a DC splitter. Plan ahead for what you'll need.- Yeah, brightness is an issue. These are actually way too bright at full power, so I'm adding a potentiometer. There are a whole bunch of different kinds available, including a simple in-line rheostat that goes between the power adapter and the strip. Others are have radio or IR remotes. Some are touch-sensitive. Pick whatever works for your situation.Anyway, I liked the blue strip well enough, I've decided I'm also going to add a 'warm white' strip in the same room, so I can pick which I want at any given time. And I'm planning to put another warm white strip around the room divider that separates our kitchen from the living/dining room area, as accent lighting -- I think it'll look great and save a ton of energy.

Verified PurchaseWe ordered the cool white lights. They were delivered quickly and packaged well. We used the plastic clips that came with the lights. I had to start a pilot hole with a nail and then put the screws in because our basement has paneling and it was hard to just start the screws without a starter hole. We love the lights. We love the cool white (white light) no yellow or blue tinted but white. Read the directions to make sure that when you test the light that it is extended out and not rolled up. Of course we love them NOW and we hope they hold up for us for a long time...seeing that it's in the basement and it's only on when we have company down there then it runs continuously.

These are a nice product. I have owned for about 2 weeks now and so far they work great. I am using these on my deck under the railing and they provide a nice amount of light. I would have given this product 5 stars if the cord to plug in was longer. It is only about a foot long which means you have to attach a separate extension cord or have your lights trail down to the outlet which looks ugly. Overall though, really nice product. If these hold up for a couple more weeks I will be buying another strand for the rest of my deck.

(This review applies to the warm white color, which wasn't available when I came back to write the review).I'm using these indoors, under the edge of the step down into our sunken living room. I mounted them in 1/2" plastic channel (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TSI7MC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00) to keep them perfectly straight, and they look great. I use them on a dimmer, at about 3/4 brightness most of the time. After about ten months, two sections (about 30" each) went out. I emailed the seller, and after sending them a photo, they promptly replaced them under a 12 month warranty.

Just as described. Heavy duty. Connects to extra strands with a tight seal. Some sections would not light up until I bent the strand in a certain direction.This may not apply to this brand specifically, and didn't affect my rating, but when we removed a solid white version very similar to this that had been in place for two years, sections of it went dark. It was similar to the one reviewed here, but permanent and wouldn't light up again with bending. So maybe don't expect more than a few years out of these if they are exposed to all four seasons and not moved. Probably not a problem for everyone.

My initial experience was negative. But I have to give credit to the company. After posting my dis-satisfaction with their product, they reached out to me about making an exchange of the rope. It was easy, and the new rope arrived, and so far, working great! You have to admire a company that stands behind their products, but it's even better when they can expedite a plan for service recovery.Original Post:"All I can say is that I've had these lights for about 2 months. Strip needs to have more adhesive. However, I love the brightness of the lights and the many settings to use on the remote.!

To start off I wouldn't exactly call them blue it's blue but has an easy tint of purple to go along with it. I bought them with low expectations, thinking there had to be a reason they were only 7.50. The tape on the back is as others have said " weak " and had to give extra support at the end where you plug them in because the tape started to gradually peel off, but the worst thing was probably spending more money on an adapter to plug them in, that was rough.

These are VERY bright, and easy to apply. They stick well. May I reiterate, VERY bright. you should plug in and determine the level of brightness you desire before you peel and stick.* Don't forget the adapter! * I did not notice anywhere in the description that I needed to separately purchase an adapter :( that should be clearly and openly disclosed. I am giving this three stars in hopes that it catches someone's attention. When I search for black light LED strips, Amazon presented this as a product that would in fact be a black light. On my phone, I did not see any reason why it was not but when it arrived I was shocked to find out it was simply a blue LED. I started to return it and then realized it was probably my fault for not reading the description thoroughly.If you, like me, did a search for black light LED and found this, please be aware that it is a blue LED strip and does not make cat urine glow. If you just want to make cat urine look even blue-er than it was before, this might be exactly what you need.The adhesive on the back is virtually worthless. Anywhere I have stuck it, it starts to peel up shortly after. However, the LED lights are bright and consistent in color across the strip. It looks very nice.I'm quite happy that this package included a few handy adapters. The strip itself is already hard-wired with a barrel-plug receptacle, so a standard 12v power cord fits nicely. It also has a couple of clamp-on brackets for bridging multiple units together.

These are really bright LEDs with very good 3M adhesive backing, I was able to peel them off and reapply a few times and they still seem to adhere to the surface really well. The LEDs also come with an extra female 12v plug with a clip connector on the the other end and an LED to LED clip connector. So why the lower rating? Mine came with three bad LEDs in the middle of the string, which required me to cut them out and re-splice the good ones back together. I've purchased many, many sets of LEDs from various sellers and this is the first one I've ever received with bad LEDS. It's most likely an isolated defect, but only time will tell if the others fail prematurely.

Bought two. One strand had a 3 ft section burned out when I plugged it in.Update - these run for 4 hours every night. No issues in the 4 months I've had them. Wife actually asked me to buy more sets to finish lighting the deck. I bought them to illuminate a section of my deck that sees a lot of traffic but is extremely dark. These give off the perfect amount of light. Not too bright, not too dim.

At first I was excited - it was exactly what I thought I was buying. A couple of days later, there is on section of the rope that went dead. Since thisis so bright , I didn't return it and hid the "out" part around a pot and still provides more than enough light. For safety and beauty it works for me.

Beware, "warm white" is the new "brilliant sparkle shine". These are really bright LEDs...

Purchased this last string to replace a string that was about a year old. The old string had failed, and would not feed power to the two other strings attached. Examined it and found a burnt spot where the power ended. New string is the same as the old, EXCEPT, an module has been inserted in the power cord, I think to remove the 60 cycle flicker. Problem is my old strings would not light with this string feeding them. Replaced the new power cord with an old power cord and lights all came on, ( with the 60 cycle flicker).When the next cord goes out, I will not replace with this product.

The clips that come with each strand are extremely weak and not convenient to use, I recommend using the clips to hold down the provided zip-ties. The section that plugs into the wall has an enormous plug (to house the fuse) and an additional rectangular box thing. I ordered two of the same "Warm White" color and one strand definitely seems much more like "Pure White". When I connected the two strands the second one only lit up 2/3's of the way and I had to wiggle it around quite a bit to get it to become fully illuminated. However all that aside, they are quite bright and much more attractive than traditional string style Christmas lights.

These give off a harsh blue white light with obvious flicker that is annoying. Not suitable for residential use.

My daughter put them on the top of her wall around her room. They look really nice if you can get them to stay connected to each other and does not want to stay in place. Does not stick that well.

I would like it if I could use it. Apparently I did not read the description right, this unit does not include the actual wall plugin. Just the leds and the cord to plug into the wall plugin. It's another 8 or 9 dollars for that. Found a deal in local store that included the wall plugin plus remote and it did change up to 30 different colors and dim 20 bucks. so if you already have the wall plug in unit, than I am sure these work just fine.

I ordered six of these and only two would light up when connected to a 9V battery. The other four would not make a proper connection. After troubleshooting the issue, it was determined to be the LED strip lights and not the connector.

Do yourself a favor and read very carefully. These are not UV lights even though they come up under UV light search. They are blue lights and the overall quality is fine but I need and want black lights and these barely light up anything. They are plenty bright but not in the UV spectrum. I take full responsibility for ordering them because I did not read carefully to understand there is nowhere in the description it says UV light. So if you're looking for UV continue looking elsewhere

The lights are bright and it works - however the adhesive tape on it is not good. This would be fine if you find another way to secure it, but I would not recommend for inside a car. It installed great but within 24 hours became unstuck and sagged. It needs a better adhesive.

No, started smoking as soon as i tried to charge it. Actually my 9 year old daughter saved her money to purchased the item, she have not been able to use it at all sum of the lights blew out when it started to smoke & it never held a charge. I tired to contact the seller but nothinh

as a buyer I was not told that you need a type of adapter to make these work. Does not run on batteries or any other source... very unsatisfied when I saw they are paper and very SMALL

The listing claims a 12v power adapter is included. Unfortunately a power adapter has to actually accept and adapt power to a different level and the only thing included with this product is the dongle that contains the female side of a 12 volt power adapter only. I am a licensed electrician and understand what a power adapter actually is/does.This is, at best, disingenuous advertising and, at worst - and in my opinion - blatant false advertisement.

Very disappointed. We bought these to put in our son's room. By the time we got to the end of the strip, the whole thing was so hot we had to turn it off immediately and take it all down. Fire hazard. Upset we waited so long to put them up otherwise we would have returned them immediately.

I bought these to use as a backlight for my TV that I have mounted up on the wall. When I saw the reviews and even the picture on the box I thought they were exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately this was not the case, I plugged them in and they gave a very dim light that wasn't even worth putting up. It gave about the same light as a small candle and that might be giving it a "good" review. I would recommend going to the store and just buying a high quality led strip rather than wasting your money on this product.

Picture looks like blue, webpage says blue and these were purple. So pissed off but they are bright

I am highly disappointed in this product. I have never written a review, but felt I needed to share and hopefully save someone else from making the mistake of purchasing these rope lights. Within a month of having these lights, about a foot section on one of the strands went out. Over the course of a few months, more sections of both strands purchased began to black out. I've had these lights for less than a year and have had to replace them completely. Disappointing for a product that is a bit on the more expensive side. Just purchased a much cheaper set at Walmart and even if they only last the same amount of time, I spent less than half the price for 3 strands than I did on 2 strands of these rope lights. So not worth the price!

Old lights on sunporch burned out so this was a replacement. I wanted something a bit longer and the clear bright white instead of the warm white. Got exactly what I wanted, looks great.I have had these lights just 4 months and a quarter of the rope has burnt out. Very disappointed in quality.

This is the second time I have purchased this item and it fails after a short time. The latest purchase lasted less than a week. Significant portions of the rope light do not light up after less than a week!

These LED rope lights are great. Vibrant colors, not to bright and they fit my awning track perfectly. Love the quality of the light output. Not to bright. But this has happened to every rope light I have owned. Not impressed with the "quality"These are well protected under the awning and carefully stored.

This is a very poorly made rope light and it's not safe to use unattended. Ours has a problem as the last five feet light only when jiggled. If you don't touch it the entire thing will stay lit, with some sections brighter than others. After consulting with an electrical engineer this product was given the tentative okay. It looks like the rope was joined in the middle by a new plastic roll when the last one ended, leaving a rough patch and the inner LED pattern changes at this point. I'll be unplugging it when I'm not in the room. This product also gave my spouse a nasty shock as he examined it. The light is more warm then blue. Not unattractive, just a warm color. I would return this but my friend wants to slice it open and make something else with it's parts.

Terrible flashing and bright white not soft at all! Returned!
