Five Star Reviews: | 45% works great around pipes and sealed the tin roof and openings on storage building with greatt results September 25, 2017 Used for pest blocking, had not had any intrusions of insects or rodents following application of this product. Would estimate a low to medium expansion and foam density. Dries quickly to the touch and can be trimmed easily. So far so good. No squirrels September 20, 2017 I filled a hole that squirrels were coming in my attic. So far so good. No squirrels. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 22% seems to work September 12, 2017 I used this to fill up the gap around a pipe that was coming in under the kitchen sink were we would get a lot of mice. I haven't had any mice since. They haven't chewed through it so that's likely what is keeping them out. Great one-time use product July 23, 2017 Great product, fills in crevices very well, solidifies within hours and does what its supposed to do. Although 1 star off because it is a one-time use product. Should be applied by a handiman with long arms and sometimes requires using a ladder. October 26, 2015 This product is hard to apply because it requires a steady hand and the right angle which I am not able to do in tough spots to reach. Also, it does not remove easily from the skin. Rubber gloves should be worn when using the insulating foam. Dealing with rodents March 10, 2015 Definitely easier to use than steel wool or copper mesh for blocking small (less than 1 inch) mouse holes. That being said, DO NOT ASSUME blocking the holes will resolve an infestation, or you'll be reporting what a lot of people here are -- determined mice ate through it in no time. Here's what you do to put an end to the problem once and for all; (1) Don't clean up mouse droppings. These are "hotspots" and the mice will return to them if they're left untouched. (2) Get some poison blocks (I like "Havoc XT") and three inch wood screws (you might need some washers). (3) Put three Havoc XT cubes on a woodscrew and secure it in to the floor/wall (whatever) where the dropping are. (4) Replace the cubes once a week until the mice stop feeding; it may take up to a month. In bad spots, you might need to put 2x or 3x poison. (5) Search the area around your hotspots for entry points... plumbing pipes/drains are a major culprit, but I've seen bad/amateur electrical work on exterior walls that punched right in to the vent space. (6) Fill holes/gaps *generously* (push the applicator straw in to the hole, spray for 2-3s, then continue spraying while slowly withdrawing. The can is single use, so go ahead and use it all. You'll want to wear gloves and safety glasses. as the stuff is impossible to get off your skin. If the mice never stop feeding, you're likely killing the neighbor(s)' mice as well, and you'll have to look at more drastic barrier methods (rodent control wire mesh). If the "hotspots" are on an interior wall (usually the wet wall where the drain stack is) the mice are coming up from the basement (or other apartments). If the hotspots are along the exterior walls, you're more likely to have mice coming in from outside. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 12% It's ok, just not a bug detterant which is what the name implies. September 8, 2017 I was expecting this to have some kind of anti-bug additive. It's just expanding foam, same as you can get at the hardware store. Calling it pestblock seems deceiving. So, the foaming part works, it will fill cracks, crevices and holes. Just not really a bug deterrent. It is great stuff but good luck trying to use it a ... January 4, 2016 It is great stuff but good luck trying to use it a second time as the straw gets clogged. They explain a way to use it multiple times but it isn't realistic. It is a major area they need to improve on which would really make the product great. They probably won't as they get more money having people buy the product more often as they can only use it in one application. Good but has drawbacks December 15, 2015 Makes a great seal and really does expand quite a bit. The only drawback is the whole can MUST be used in one shot. I don't know why but if the can is stored for even a day (and even with a new nozzle) the foam will not release correctly. Stored inside at room temp. OK Stuff, Not "Great" May 27, 2015 This "Stuff" does the job but I would not call it "Great". The applicator is not perfect and it is very difficult to gauge when to let go of the trigger. I ended up with a mess of Stuff that needed a lot of trimming and clean-up when I was finished filling my void. Also, if you don't use the entire can, in my opinion, it is not worth the time to try to clean the applicator/tube for another use. The greatest thing about this Stuff is it's price when you can get it for under $7 bucks a can. Good product, flimsy straw. November 17, 2012 The product is easy enough to use- cleans up with acetone nail polish remover, dries firm, etc. But the applicator straw broke halfway through my first use with a brush of my hand. I'm not a large or very strong person. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% This stuff is great. But the only really bad thing August 19, 2017 This stuff is great. But the only really bad thing. Is the hose doesn't work after the first use I'm upset because I use it one time now I can't use it again. No better than regular expanding foam May 26, 2016 Ineffective. Carpenter bees ate right through it in two spots to cut new holes right behind it. Didn't work for me. Mice chewed through it the ... September 1, 2015 Didn't work for me. Mice chewed through it the same night it was applied....I think they are mocking my efforts. Didn't work for me November 6, 2014 Used to seal a crack in my foundation where mice were nesting. Product sealed fine but mice just chewed it up. So much for a pest block. Ended up sealing the crack with cement and hardware cloth. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 15% Does not work!! September 24, 2017 "0" STARS!! Completely waste of money! It does not work!! Pest eat right through it! I'm going to return it! Applicator nozzle snapped on first use September 17, 2017 The applicator snapped at the base the first time I used it. It is very light and flimsy like a soda straw. The material itself is somewhat difficult to work with overall, a great idea, but poor execution. Also this contains some toxic chemicals and the fine print recommends gloves, respirator, eye protection to protect from side effects including asthma and extreme skin irrational. This is fine but the average weekend diy-er needs to understand this must be handled with more care than most diy products. Not effective at all August 7, 2017 I bought this at Lowe's, but thought I should review it here so people will know how poorly it performs. I packed the hole tightly with steel wool and put a large quantity of this foam over the hole the mouse had made in my pantry . The next morning I opened the door and found chewed up foam all over the floor. See attached photo. It didn't deter the mouse at all. I'll try caulk next and if that doesn't work, I'll try hardware cloth. Field mice just chew right through the stuff. April 11, 2017 Tried this stuff in my back yard shed. The mice just chewed right through it. Glad I only purchased one of October 9, 2016 Didn't deter mice from chewing thru it. Glad I only purchased one of these Broken applicator straw made unusable. February 27, 2016 Straw for applying was broken on arrival. Used some, but very difficult to apply without straw. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
