Five Star Reviews: | 53% Perfect for Epiphone SG-400 June 12, 2017 I just got these the other day, and I was very pleased with them. The cables were long enough to reach into the electronics cavity with ease. No wiring diagram, but just make note of how the old pickups were wired, and copy. The fit in my Epiphone SG-400 was PERFECT. The holes in the pickup surrounds fit perfectly into the factory drilled holes, and there was no space in between the pickups and the pick guard. I'm not going to go all "audiophile" with the sound of the pickups. They sound really good though. I pushed them through my Orange Micro Terror and BR-800, and it made had the same quality of sound as any of my other guitars. All in all, my guitar looks much better now with these flawless beauties installed. Very happy. For the price-outstanding March 5, 2017 They're built well and they actually look very nice in the guitar. The wires have plenty of line and were easy to install.Holy moley, for the price they sound amazing. Nice solid punch and tone with plenty of output. Sound pretty good for hard rock and metal. They are not quite as articulate as name brand pickups abut they sure are better then the cheopos that came stock some entry level guitars. For the price-outstanding I was pleasantly surprised January 27, 2017 I was pleasantly surprised at the sound and tone of these pickups. I have to admit, I had buyers remorse when I first ordered them. Given how cheap they were I expected them to not have the sound and tone of the pickups I was replacing. But my skepticism quickly vanished once I got them installed. Put these in an Epiphone SG. They sound every bit as good as the factory Epi Humbucker pickups. These are great pickups. They look nice with the shiny gold February 27, 2015 These are great pickups. They look nice with the shiny gold. I love the sparkle and smooth sound these produce. They are a great buy too. I expect more expensive PU's to sound this good. I would buy these again for other guitars. The string alignment is a little off above the pickup poles but it sounds good. I had to boost this review up to 5 stars. After playing my guitar with these installed I've come to the conclusion that these sound as golden as they look. These pickups are fantastic. Impressive. October 10, 2014 I'm uh-... I'm gonna go with "wow", here.I didn't expect much from these, considering the price and such, but they were a LOT better than expected. Not exactly Seymour Duncans... but I didn't pay the Seymour Duncan price, now did I?I spent an afternoon doing nothing but putting these into one guitar, another pickup from the same company into another guitar, and then all night trying them out.The wiring was done nicely and weren't difficult at all to install, though I must point out, the pickup rings are CURVED, and I was putting them on an SG with a FLAT top, but I just took them off and used my old pickup rings. So all is well. They are marked "Neck" and "Bridge" by the way, so no confusion there.I was pleased with the way they were wrapped and shipped, but rather unimpressed by the packaging (Cheap cardboard box to ship in, 1 layer of bubble wrap, duct tape, zip-lock baggies). They survived shipping just fine, though. They felt sturdy and I don't have any complaints about the provided screws (2 to mount the pickup to the ring and adjust it's height, 4 to mount the pickup ring to the guitar). If you want to know about the sound, well, I swapped the Epiphone pickups from my Epiphone SG Special for these, and I gotta say it was an improvement, for sure.Higher output and a nicer tone.A great clean sound at the neck with plenty of warmth, and with a bit of distortion, the bridge position squeals when I need it to and sounds sweet and bright when I don't.I'm happy with them. Very warm fat tone! January 22, 2014 I would start off by stating "for the price..." but that would be slightly irrelevant. These pickups are BEASTLY, I soldered them in in about 20 mins and plugged them in. These didn't just do the job, they are excellent! They are not as bright as other humbuckers I have tried but they absolutely fit the bill for what I was looking for. Excellent response and if you are into metal (I am not) these would be even better. For passive pickups, these are super HOT. As stated before, metal is not exactly my genre or anything I regularly play but I will say, these pickups allow me to pinch harmonic super easily. If the price doesn't draw you in or if it creates any doubt regarding quality, then think again. These are well worth the low price. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting to replace existing pickups in a les paul, or any other guitar for that matter. | 52% Work great, not the best. August 29, 2017 As described, installed them on a lp copy. The pots are very sensitive as most of the variance is within the first quarter turn of the knob. After that the tone and volume don't change much. Also, each knob turns with different resistances. I suppose that is a plus as I can tell which knob.I'm turning by how tight or loose it is....but not really, it's annoying and cheat feeling. I'd order these again though if my budget was tight. Bought for kit ES-355 May 7, 2017 Just what I needed to complete my kit guitar.Couldn't be better.Quality on par with the more expensive electrical parts.Wiring was good. Solder joints were great.Switch is a bit cheap, but just as good as what comes on the Epiphones anyway..... Works great. December 7, 2016 I can't say much more than it worked exactly the way it was supposed to, and I was able to repair a guitar that had been sitting unused for over a year. The solder connections looked good. You can't ask for more for the price. Nice Harness September 23, 2016 I build my own wiring harnesses most of the time. When I don't I order these. I have used these for several years on guitar builds and they are always an easy install and problem free. Smaller but functional... to me a $150 + =upgrade September 2, 2016 I used this setupbto change a 1v 1t to a 2v 2t.Suprised how easy it was to incorporate this setup into space provided.Correct pots 2 a500k and 2 b500k..... wired by disconnectting from switch and connectting one pickup to each pot with open terminal. Guitar wiring harness tell-all review! July 20, 2016 Since it seems the information surrounding this products is vague, I thought I would give a review with as much info as I can to help those who are thinking about buying, and or bought and have questions. I will also address some of the concerns I found in the reviews/questions areas.First off, my opinion of this product. I am very happy with it, and it did what I needed it to do, which is replace the crappy wiring in my janky old Martin Les Paul copy with two humbuckers. This product is everything I hoped and expected it to be. I considered giving it four stars because it is a lower end harness, but ultimately I figured if peeps are buying and eight dollar harness, they ought to know they're not getting top of the line. Okay, onto the info:#1 - Are the pots small? Answer: Yes. They are likely smaller than what you are replacing. They were smaller than what I was replacing, both in the body and in the threads. However, if you use a washer, and tighten everything properly, there should be no issues. My old knobs fit perfectly on these pots. No issues there. They're just smaller.#2 - Is the switch huge? Answer: I didn't think that it was particularly huge. That said, it was slightly larger than my original switch, and I did stress a little that I was going to have to unsolder/resolder the switch, however, with a little finesse and uncharacteristic patience, I was able to work the switch through the cavity of my guitar and get it into place. One thing I didn't like about the switch was that the plastic knob dealie-bob does not appear to come off easily (it does not screw on). That didn't make it any harder to get through my guitar, but it did scrape a little on the way. Probably if I cared a little bit more, I would have covered it with masking tape. So, no biggie.#3 - Is it wired incorrectly? Answer: No. I installed it as is (as pictured here on Amazon), and it worked like a charm. That is not to say that it is going to be wired exactly like the current set-up that you are replacing. If you google Les Paul wiring (like pretty much everyone who answers questions on this page suggests that you do), you will quickly see that there are MANY ways to wire this type of setup. MANY. I think a lot of the folks who are saying "it's wired incorrectly" are actually basing that on not being wired how their current setup is wired, or what they're familiar with. So this is one method of many to wire it, but a valid method. Look at the picture, if that is not what you want, then find a different harness or wire it yourself, or buy this one and rewire it. But, based on my experience, it is not wrong, just maybe different than what peeps are expecting. That is my experience only, though, so carefully look over the wiring to make sure it's all good.#4 - Did it come broken? Answer: Okay maybe a little. Actually one of the ground solders had come apart during shipping. I can't speak to why or how this happened, but I think it might have to do with how it was packed/shipped, and not the product itself. In any case it was a quick fix, I soldered it while I was soldering the pickup wires to the pots. No biggie.#5 - Where do you wire the pickups to? Answer: This is a question I had, and also one that is asked a bunch in the questions. It's also further compounded by the description saying that you hook the pickups up to the switch. You do not hook the pickups to the switch! The pickups get wired to the volume pots. The hot (insulated, usually white) wire goes to the post on the pot that also has a wire going to the tone pot. The ground (uninsulated) wire gets soldered to the back of the pot with the other grounds. Do this for each of the two pickups (depending on your application).#6 - Where does that rando black wire that isn't attached to anything go? Answer: It's a ground wire that goes to the bridge. I already had a wire coming in from my bridge, so i just spliced them together.#7 - Does it make your guitar sound bad? Answer: No. This is the best my guitar has ever sounded. Granted, I put new pickups in, but there is nothing bad that seems to come from the wires, eg. hissing, hums, buzzing, etc... I experience none of that.I think that about covers it. I hope this is helpful to those who have questions and concerns about this product. | 64% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% Good hardware. May 2, 2017 Works well and really dressed up my Squire strat. I removed the saddles from the tail peice and attached them to the factory tail peice of my Squire as the saddle is a little different. Looks more like my American made strat plus deluxe now. I like having a cheaper guitar for taking it on trips. Don't want to bring an expensive strat on business trips just to keep my chops up. The $6 I invested in this hardtail bridge seemed too good to be true March 3, 2017 This product is exactly as advertised. Works perfectly. I'm working on my first guitar build and I did not want to spend much money on a bridge in case the whole thing is a failure. The $6 I invested in this hardtail bridge seemed too good to be true. Wrong. It's better than good. I'm still kind of amazed that they can sell these so cheap. It bolts on properly, all of the adjustable features work properly, and they even included the right-size allen wrench for adjustment. Kudos to this AMERICAN company for making a solid product at an unbelievable price without any hidden fees/problems/snags.A word to consumers: chances are if you are shopping for a hardtail bridge then you know what you're shopping for. (and, again I cannot recommend this one highly enough!) But, in case you are unsure of what kind of bridge is what, THIS is a hardtail. It sits on top of the body of the guitar. The strings do not go through the body and there is no trem ("whammy") bar attachment. (just sharing b/c I had never used a hardtail bridge previous to this one and was a little unfamiliar until I researched it.)Again 5 stars for this excellent product from Jersey.***correction to this review: upon further research into LOTMUSIC, the company that makes this bridge, I found that it is NOT an American company. Not sure if the product is manufactured in China, or in the USA by a Chinese owned company. Either way, this does not change my opinion of the high quality product. (although I do feel like a bit of a chump for assuming that since it ships from New Jersey and arrived 2 days after ordering that it was produced in the USA.) Still an unbelievable deal on a solid product. Good, easy to install bridge January 26, 2017 This would be a great bridge for a first project build. I am a fan of top-loading bridges generally but they are especially easy to install as they don't require string-through holes and the extra ferules and such to make them work. Quality-wise, this works and cost under ten bucks. All the adjustment screws work and there is enough travel to allow some leeway as far as getting the bridge in just the right place. It is not the same quality as, say, a G&L top-loader, and feels a bit thin and insubstantial but I've had no trouble with the thing. I'll update this review if it corrodes and falls apart after six months of use but for now I'm calling it good. I have a stock Fender tremolo bridge that has those vintage saddles that I really don't like because I rest my hand there May 19, 2016 I purchased this hardtail bridge for the saddles. I have a stock Fender tremolo bridge that has those vintage saddles that I really don't likebecause I rest my hand there. Well these saddles ($6.00) are closer to the ones that came stock on my Fender American model. It feels much smoother on my hand. I simply swapped out the old ones, keeping my original bridge right where it is and installed these newsaddles which work incredibly well and feel comfortable, they even look a whole lot nicer than what I had prior. I only needed the saddles. For $6.00 you can't get a sweeter deal!! If you do need a bridge and don't mind it being fixed, well this hardtail bridge is made sturdy - it will definitely give your guitar added sustain. For under $30.00 you can really upgrade a fair guitar with parts that Amazon has made available. A Quality Component! August 1, 2015 I bought this for a DIY project, a lap steel guitar. Though my design which includes a separate bridge precludes the functioning of this compensated bridge, I bought it for the style. Also, it comes with five screws to mount it. Other models more appropriate to my project come with only two screws. I light the overkill and the looks. great replacement parts February 6, 2014 Bought this because i could not find a single saddle to use as a replacement part. Excellent condition. would buy again |
Four Star Reviews: | 24% Only issue I saw was that the mounting brackets (though tapered) are FLAT on the bottom – so they are fine on a flat top but will need “Shapped” for ... August 7, 2017 I bought to replace a very very very cheap “Fake” Humbucker Set (actually a single coil within a cover) on an Encore LP Copy that I’m working on. Only issue I saw was that the mounting brackets (though tapered) are FLAT on the bottom – so they are fine on a flat top but will need “Shapped” for a LP archtop. Still comparing “Sound” wise, granted their not 59 PAF’s but not bad. Just a note of caution - no easy option for “Coil Tap” Great deal on a set of blacked out HBs May 24, 2017 Looks nice, ships fast! The bridge sounds like a stock BC Rich humbucker, treble and gainy, I wired the bridge pup into my Epiphone Les Paul Jr and it is great, my tone knob doesn't change a whole lot of the tone, very high output so cleans are cutting.. best for early metal, 90s stuff. Came with neck and bridge HB with two height screws each, mounting brackets and screws. Unsleeved wire is ground, sleeved wire goes to your particular connection point for the HB Good value April 3, 2017 I repair and refinish electric guitars and occasionally find that I need to replace a pickup. I ordered these and a couple of other sets (different colors) so I would have some on hand for quick installs. I have used these to replace a failed or flaky pickup and they seem to work quite well. Sure, there are much hotter pickups available, but the price comes with it. For an inexpensive pickup that works adequately, these have seemed to work well. In that sense I consider them good value for the price. Seems a good value. July 26, 2016 7-26-16. Just installed into Washburn HB-35. Seem similar to original. Camelabeled "N" for neck, and "B" for bridge, and they had different color leads from each otheras they should. Sound similar and no apparent issues. Good pickups for the money May 30, 2016 Pickups are not "hot" or over wound like the descriptions states. These are 8K Ohm pickups (both bridge and neck) but they sound pretty good for the money. They're pretty good for what they're worth May 26, 2014 Cut to the chase, these bad boys are pretty good. I can't say super high quality, but they do shine some light in several areas. For instance, the bridge pickup is pretty hot and gets some good tones with distortion. It's a pickup that's meant to rock out, so to speak. The neck pickup for me, has provided to some really good clean tones... If you enjoy jazz or playing jazz, this pickup is definitely worth getting. Overall, these aren't that bad. The bridge pickup gets really metal sounds and neck is really good with cleans. :)Score: 8/10 | 17% Good, cheap, as described. July 24, 2017 Came just as expected, I knocked off a star cause I don't think I've ever seen pots so small, but I figured that going into this purchase. Perfect for a guitar build, cigar box guitar, and even as a replacement/repair for another axe. Just don't expect USA quality and you'll be ok. Can't complain March 24, 2017 Came very quickly and as described. Packagining was only a plastic bag though but can't complain for 9$ Does the trick! December 1, 2016 Simple, cheap pots that work. They give plenty of extra wire which is nice- work's the way it's supposed to February 17, 2015 It works good had to fix some of the soldering that came apart no directions but easy installation Good replacement...... January 18, 2014 Used this in my SG.... now it doesn't sound as good as the original but it still works and sounds great! Tip for installing try replacing these one potentiometer at a time without cutting any wires. This bridge was a perfect well made part that I needed to practice cords in the car while my wife is shopping. Did not fit my guitar but is still a good product May 7, 2014 I ordered this to fit my guitar. It seemed to be a quality product, just didn't fit and I had to return it. The seller was quick to refund payment |
Three Star Reviews: | 9% All that glitters is not gold. May 28, 2017 Couple issues. 1. Neck Pickup is way too hot for my taste. It was very dark. I put my original pickup back in for the neck and reused the gold cover from this pickup. Ok bridge pickup. The color of the "gold" is more yellow than real gold. So it doesnt match my other gold parts. For the price, it seems like a deal. You can always modify the neck pickup by taking out the screw pole pieces for more vintage sound. Or get an Alnico 2 or 3 magnet + spacers to replace the ceramic if you want to open it up and modify it. don't try and adjust the post up and down, ... February 20, 2017 don't try and adjust the post up and down, for each string and that part is junk, some do some don't ....sound ok....I replaced these too Good for the price March 14, 2016 I ordered two sets of these from two different sellers. One set had a silver colored base plate, the other had gold colored ones. I did note that one set seemed to be a higher assembly quality (smoother edges, better solder, and better packaging) than the other. The poorly packaged set had a ding in the cover from a loose mounting screw. They were all wax potted, with metal covers, and the three undamaged ones looked good overall. Though the description states 9k for the neck and 16k for the bridge, all four pickups were between 12.5 and 14.1k. I used one of them (the 14.1k) in the bridge, and an existing 8.5k one I had with good results. I'm keeping the extras for future projects, for the price you can't go wrong. For a measely few bucks these things are great for cheap March 2, 2016 For a measely few bucks these things are great for cheap, lackluster guitar upgrades; of course they're not Duncans or other costly pickups, thats why they're so cheap, but they certainly took this cheap ass Luna I had in the closet and made it sound really good. Damn it, man. Nice sounding PUPs for a nice price! October 13, 2015 Output is not as high as expected, compared to hot pickups like Duncan Distortion (DD).However, it shines as a hot vintage type pickup with crystal clarity and warm depth without the harsh trebliness of the DD.No muddiness at all even on low E chords, overdriven or not.On the negative side, what you get look like used pickups with minor dents and blemishes. Soldering job on the pickup covers not so great and not flush, making pickups a little wider on the back. I had to file down some wood on my guitar bridge cavity to make it fit. Neck pup leads are too short. I had to splice wire from the old pups to reach the volume. Pup ring don't match perfectly with original... either use old rings or fit this new one (flimsy plastic so not tough to force-align).Addendum: After having these for a month I've discovered a major deficiency.Yes these are warm and fat sounding. Everything below the 15th fret sounds awesome. Where things go wrong is with when playing lead, esp. if you go above the 20th fret. Output is VERY LOW on the highest frets to a point there is no sustain at all.I'd recommend these for rhythm guitar and for leads below the 15th fret. If you want screaming leads at the upper frets, these are not it.Visually, from a couple of feet away they look great installed. And the sounds is much better than expected. For a $15 pickup set, these can't be beat (for lower fret use). I received two identical BRIDGE pickups vs. a matched set (Bridge and Neck) April 6, 2015 I received these very promptly, but both pickups were labeled "B" for the bridge, so they appear identical vs. being a matched set for Bridge and Neck locations. Have not yet mounted these, as I'm not sure whether they'll function properly for me. They did appear to be in good shape, no dings or gouges as others have reported. | 11% Wired incorrectly December 2, 2016 Wiring harness came wired incorrectly. I had to resolder it, defeating the purpose of getting a prewired harness. If you've never done this before, might want to check a different option, or learn from your local guitar shop tech before going at it on your own. For the price, it was fine, but the extra work was supposed to have been avoided. For those of you looking for instructions, they are really simple if the product comes wired correctly. Assuming it did, then all you need to do is connect ground to top of volume pot, and hot to the outside tab. Do this for both pickups and you're solid. seems a good value. July 26, 2016 7-26-16. Just installed in Washburn HB-35. Seems okay. Can't beat the price.Solder joints seemed ok, in correct place, was able to just solder pickups leadsonto volume pots and was done. Was barely able to fit 3-way switch in place as it is bigger than original, but was able to. Good Quality, Bad Wiring May 31, 2015 Nice quality pots and wires and the switch is really nice and sturdy but the wiring is all messed up. I have 4 volumes on my guitar now but oh well; it works until I can afford a nice wiring harness. It was nice it came pre-wired October 10, 2014 A decent harness for the price. It was nice it came pre-wired, but the capacitors for the tone knobs were soldered on the wrong post for the potentiometers but other than that works well. great for parts, but wiring is horrible October 13, 2013 components are decent for tinkering or repair jobs, but the wiring for the volume pots are backwards. make sure to look up how to wire for your specific application and re-wire this harness yourself! its easy to do in a few minutes. | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% Does what expected, there was a corner missing chrome (chipped off) September 21, 2017 For the price, you can't exptect TOO much, but does work well, just wish it hadn't come with chipped off chrome. Noticeable, but still happy. Good for some guitars and not for all. February 14, 2015 This unit is designed to replace one of a similar style. I will not cover the tremolo hole if your application is to replace a tremolo system on your guitar. what it is for is a new bridge on a new body is its best application. Action adjustments are small and you may hear buzzing from the frets. |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Squeal, squeal, squeal. Poor wax potting. February 9, 2017 Squeal, squeal, squeal. The wax potting was poorly done on the pickups I received which means the PuPs squeal as the volume / gain increases (and not just at high volume or gain). Took at shot at $15. You win some, you lose some. Not recommended. Not great. The neck was super muddy September 30, 2016 The sound of these pickups are what you would expect for the price. Not great. The neck was super muddy, but that is not really the reason for the low star count. For me they get a low count because they were not potted or at least not potted correctly. They are extremely micro-phonic. If you are not hitting a note they squeal even at low volume. Well the set I got anyway, who knows maybe I just got a bad set. These will be removed immediately from my guitar. I gave it two stars though because having the covers and pickups rings alone are worth the price. Cheaper than buying them separate. Keep the rings and covers. Toss the pickups. Received two neck pickups January 28, 2016 These pickups are not bad for the price. They sound good however I received two neck pickups. They both have the same ohm reading and the same size bezel making this set almost useless. the whole story is I ordered 2 Brand New Cort X1 guitars and I love them both October 10, 2015 Well, the whole story is I ordered 2 Brand New Cort X1 guitars and I love them both, however being they for the price, must obviously have inexpensive pickups in them, However, one of the two guitars sounds great, and the other is very flat and has a low tone. So after reading several reviews on these Cheapos, I came to the conclusion that I have a 50/50 chance of getting a decent sounding pair and its well worth a shot for the money. Now, my preference has always been pickups from "SeeMore Donut" and DiMarzio, like their PAF Pros, but being that a person doesn't have to spend a fortune to get decent quality (proved that with the Cort X1 which is a Great Guitar), especially if the pickup really does have Alnico V magnets.OK, so enough useless info, The Pickups arrived today, Very poorly packaged, both of them wrapped together with the pickup's faces Facing each other. When I saw this I pretty much assumed damage had been done, and sure enough. The surfaces of each pickup have rub marks from the other and one of them even has a tiny gouge on the edge (plastic), which I now realize was caused during assembly by careless handling of a soldering iron. The second has a good size gouge along the back edge, which was also obviously caused by a hot soldering iron melting the plastic.Being that it is not so simple to just swap the pickups, meaning having to replace strings and do some cutting and soldering, I decided to not be so curious to the sound or waste my time installing them, but instead send them back for a refund, and possibly take a chance at buying another pair, with high hopes of receiving a blemish free set that sound better than what I have now.It could end up a so called "Crap Shoot" and I may have to order several pair until I finally get a good one of each, Not to mention sound quality is still unknown...Last of all Id like to add that Amazon has a very good return policy and has treated me good so far, which is another reason to Not require paypal :) and that makes me very Happy !I wish you luck if you decide to purchase these.-V- Sound good, but are May 22, 2015 Act as if they are not potted at all. Sound good, but are microphonic | 6% too cheap, the tone pots broke down after about ... February 22, 2016 too cheap, the tone pots broke down after about ten hours of playing time on the guitar, plus they were not wired correctly to match a les paul..spend the extra money and get a quality wiring kit.. unfortunately I had some bad solder joints that I will need to repair March 20, 2015 The harness was new, unfortunately I had some bad solder joints that I will need to repair. However the quality of the pots and switch seem very high. Awesome and super easy January 28, 2014 It can't get easier than this. I was modifying an old 1960 Teisco and bought to switch out the pickups and electronics that had long-since burned out. It took just a few minutes to solder and install everything. The volume and tone are great. The guitar has no hum at all - and I'm using cheap P90s on a hollowbody. Couldn't recommend this set-up more!**Update** After a few months, the threading on one of the tone pots slipped and pot would spin in the guitar instead of the pot actuating and changing the tone. SO, I pulled that line out and replaced the tone pot. It seemed like a simple fix.In the process, one of the welds from the other volume knob came loose. So, that line was pulled and re-soldered.Just as I had everything in place and almost done, the volume knob threading started to slip as well. The pot wouldn't stay in place, it just rotated as I tried to tighten it down. So, another volume knob was required. This is a CHEAP option. It's not a quality option. The posts and threads are undersized AND easily strip to the point of not holding the pots in their proper position. I recommend finding something with a higher quality! Wrong Wires July 8, 2013 The item shipped in a timely manner, the pots are not the best quality, but they are a direct replacement to the original pots found in the Ibanez GAX70 guitar, and the switch was also a direct replacement, the problem is the wiring, they send simple very thing wires instead of using coaxial shielded wiring, so now i have to get coax wiring, de-solder, clean the contact points and solder the correct wire in place.a bummer that the wires were not the ones in the picture, would have had bought different ones if i knew. | 7% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% It is useless without some kind of mod to hold it in ... Without the string going through the body, there isn't enough tension to hold the string saddles in place. Not only does the saddle move side to side, it also rattles as it bounces up and down. It got two stars instead of one due to price. It is useless without some kind of mod to hold it in place. |
One Star Reviews: | 9% Microphonic! November 22, 2016 Incredibly noisy/microphonic with any gain/distortion. Noise somewhat reducible when turning volume or tone down. I opened up one of the pickups and was surprised to find that they were actually potted, even though they were microphonic. Only redeeming quality is that the pickup covers are nice. NOT AS ADVERTISED July 11, 2016 very disappointed. these pickups were advertised as 9k and 16k. at best they were 7.9k DONT waste your money. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Not as pictured! May 27, 2016 Pickups were NOT as pictured, I needed the black ones for a build, what I got was a standard chrome set, these will be going back immediately! Bait and switch product. April 26, 2016 Seller had picture of chrome covered humbuckers. Sent me a set of black epoxy filled pickups. Nothing like the picture nothing like the description. This was the exact opposite of what I wanted and what was showing. Cheap pickups are what you get. Sounds ok for the price. Not as listed(7.5-7.8 ohm's) . October 4, 2015 Not as listed ! The output is not as listed .cheap price cheap tone. How can you sell a item with false listings. Buyer Beware! February 20, 2015 Big problem here! This is the 2nd set I ordered that when I measured the ohms value on each pickup, they measured at less than 8kohm each! I'm not sending these back but I refuse to buy any product from this manufacturer again! Lesson learned and thank my stars I didn't pay more! | 14% These are bad, bad March 11, 2017 I would give these a 0 if it would still let me right a review. These are bad, bad, bad. First of all they are mini pots, but that is OK if they work. Second, they are wired wrong, that's OK I can buy better capacitors and wire them myself. The first time I wired the harness up, Gibson Modern, style nothing happened, a first for me. Oh well I have a few hours to kill I will wire it up Gibson 50's style. This time the bottom toggle down worked and the middle toggle worked but no upper toggle. One pick up doesn't come on. I poke around a while and what do you know they all start working. Alright, I start putting it back together and try it again. Oops nothing working again. I take it apart again and wiggle the connectors on one of the pots. Works, no it does not work, it worked and then it didn't work. One pickup came on, then neither. This is a regular party if you have half a day to kill. I went ahead and bought 4 full size pots for $20 dollars. I bet they will work. :) Not good, poorly built April 1, 2016 Not good, poorly built,I wouldn't have given any stars but couldn't do a review without marking at least one Pots arent Gibson Size Pots... Too Small March 29, 2016 Pots were too small. Maybe would work in a fender but these are no where near Gibson Full Sized Pots. These are mini pots. Returned Item! amateurish product February 4, 2015 Extremely cheaply made, wire used was poor quality, solder was sloppy and random. I would not recommend or buy again......spend a little more and get a quality harness | 11% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% The holes for the intonation screws are drilled at an ... November 23, 2016 The holes for the intonation screws are drilled at an angle, so there is no way to keep the saddles parallel to the string path. Buyer beware March 15, 2016 The Product in the description does not match the product in the question and answer section where the answers are from the "Seller." The sizes are different and this does not fit a Fender. If you just want to replace your saddles then I guess this is still a good deal. |
