Great product

We have used this heater about 8 times and are very happy with it s far. It's on our screen porch and definitely heats up the area. We ordered the mocha color and it's attractive.
Enduring Alaska winds and snow!

so far so good. it has endured the winds here in AK. I would highly recommend it. Oh and after a winter of ice and snow...still looks great! No rust or wear! Great item and gives off good heat. I really think I need a high and low!

Nice to have a personal relationship with a company
December 1, 2015
Although brand new, I'm sure the heater will work well from my trial testing. Writing to compliment Mr. Patio for their personal and efficient service. After the order arrived 2 days after ordering we had a billing error from Amazon that needed to be worked out and they were very patient and friendly. Nice to have a personal relationship with a company. I was a little daunted by the reader comments about assembly and was extremely happy with L & P Development which was listed as an option with my order to assemble the unit. They were very professional with calling to update when the serviceman would arrive, and he was excellent and friendly. I would probably have spent several frustrating hours assembling.

Great item with quality service. Assembly is much faster with a socket wrench but other than that, instructions are clear and it's a nice product.

Good product - does the job
May 4, 2017
Living in Texas, we can't use our patio heater for a good part of the year. Rather than leaving it out and getting dusty and risk rsting with the humidity and rain we have, we cover it with this item.It is good quality thick and has a liner to protect the finish of the heater. It fits our heater perfectly and we juts store it out of the way in a corner of the patio until winter.
Fits great and looks durable
October 26, 2016
This cover fits just the way we expected it would, seems durable. We'll have to see how it holds up over the winter but it's in a covered gazebo so I'm anticipating it will be just great.
and it works great now! You do have to put it together ...
March 13, 2015
Put this outside next to my hot tub. It kicks out some serious heat! Makes a huge difference! I actually had a defective one initially but amazon replaced it in about two days, and it works great now! You do have to put it together which isn't too bad if you are even the slightest mechanically incline. The only problem which putting it together is that the little wrench they give you to turn the screws is basically garbage. It widens and quits working after about ten bolts. It you have a 10mm or a adjustable wrench you'll be good though. I actually used pliers because I was too lazy to walk down to the basement. So far this is a great addition to my patio!

November 25, 2014
This cover fits my heater very nicely. Like everyone else says it is a bit of a pain putting on and off but I would rather that than to loose flopping in the wind. My heater has 5 feet on the bottom so tipping has not been an issue for me. Couple inches longer would cover everything perfectly. Still a good product.
Works Great
February 8, 2013
Cover is just as described. Works great! And it is attractive. Protects heater (which is what it is meant to do!) very well. Soft inner lining protects metal heater and thick protective outer layer keeps the elements out.Read other reviews where there are complaints about it being hard to reach that high to put it on and that with the cover on, the wind now blows the heater over (duh!). One should know what the height of their heater is before buying a cover. The cover is not the responsible for the height of the heater. Furthermore, if the cover allowed the wind to pass through it, it would not do as great a job protecting the heater, now would it? This is a good product regardless of the naysayers.

Used lava rock as a base
October 7, 2017
Love this glass. If your fire pit came with lava rocks, KEEP THEM and use them as a base. Order a 20 lbs. bag and put it over the lava rock so you don’t have to buy two bags. We have a concrete fire pit that did not come with a lid, and we wanted the bowl to be really filled to the brim. If your fire pit comes with a lid, you should be fine with just a 20 lbs. bag of glass without a lava rock base so you can close the lid. We also rinsed the glass with water before we put it in the pit. This makes it really sparkle because it gets rid of all the glass dust from shipping. Do this in your laundry sink because there will be a lot of tiny excess glass shards when you rinse the glass in a colander. Plan on throwing away whatever towel you will use to dry the rinsed pieces - it will be full of tiny glass shards. Love this product and would highly recommend.
I love my new fireplace
July 21, 2017
I love my new fireplace! I painted the insert with a black oven paint and changed out the single burner for an H-burner. I had a professional come in the install the H-burner and he said I'd only need about 30 pounds of fireglass. When I did an online calculator for how much fireglass I needed, it said 52 pounds. I ordered 4 ten pound bags half in 1/2 inch and half in 1/4 inch, however I only used 3 of them just like the installer said. I used twenty pounds of 1/2 inch and 10 pounds of 1/4 inch. It looks plenty full to me. I'm going to use the other bag and put them in a vase or something. The 1/4 inch looked a little more yellow than the 1/2 so I'm wondering if they sent me a platinum bag rather than titanium. However, I loved the look because it gave it a little softer vibe. I wish I had done this transformation many years ago and can't wait for winter to use it regularly.
Awesome addition
July 21, 2017
This fire glass seems to be of very high quality. The color matched our patio scheme perfectly. This fire glass also includes some silver lined glass which really makes the fire glow. Adds a much nicer touch than just having the lava rocks. I put a small layer of lava rocks on the bottom (about half the 7 pound bag that came with my gas fire pit) and put all of the fire glass on top and it came out great. These seem expensive, but it was well worth it in my opinion. It really brought my fire pit to life and looks great with the decor
Worth the upgrade from lava rock
May 31, 2017
I just bought a propane fire pit table and have loved how easy it was to have a backyard fire. The flames look good, but I wanted the best out of my new fire pit. I read that fire glass was way better than lava rock so I bout the 20lb bag of copper glass. My expectations were exceeded. The glass looks great it sparkles and makes the the fire seem more alive. I'm getting more visible blue flame that add character the the fire. I love it the glass almost looks like liquid in the center of the fire.
Quite stylish.
June 12, 2016
These are beautifu! Sure lava rocks are functional, but so are these, and they look phenomenal. We have a "bronze finish" fire pit, and these are close in color, but just different enough to provide a nice contrast. By leaving the air vent clear of the glass, we have little to no soot build-up on the glass itself.
for a good size fire table and it covers fine

Exactly as described. This glass is such a lovely color! It has really enhanced the look of our firepit. We bought 15 lbs., for a good size fire table and it covers fine. We have already ordered 1 more 5 lb bag just to fill in a little more.

Missing rod, but otherwise pretty nice cover.
September 17, 2017
I expected a simple tarp cut to a specific shape to fit the heater, but instead it's got a soft, felt-lined interior, and the zipper even has a string on it so short people can reach to zip it more easily. Fits fine around the reflector, but naturally it's quite loos around the middle since it's essentially cylindrical. If it had some ties attached somewhere to gather up the extra girth, it'd probably be better, but I'll just use some bungees I already have. Other reviews complained about it turning into a sail with a breeze, but mine will probably hang out under the covered patio most of the time, so not likely to be a problem. Straps for the bottom would probably also be a good addition to the design.Mine was missing whatever 3 piece metal rod was mentioned in the instruction sheet and by other reviewers, which might help with the flapping since it's supposed to go along the zipper.

OK quality and will do the job for now.
March 14, 2017
They seem like they'll work great. They look OK too, not like junk. Aren't made of a thick material but if you are careful when you handle them they'll be fine. These kind of heaters tip over easily with the cover on not so we bungie the heaters to the fence when not in use.I have to get onto a latter to put them on and take them off but it's not a problem. They seem like they'll be durable and keep the rain off and the sun from fading them. We just bought them so I don't know yet how long they will last.Hopefully for a couple summers, if not I'll update this review.
Hearty BUT......
January 24, 2014
.VERY VERY difficult to get this cover over the top HEAT shield, it can catch the top wing nuts and if you force it (as i did from frustration) can bend the heat shield. I have now taken this off and on at least 6 times...using a tall chair, a step..and two people...still can't figure out why its so tough. Maybe its me..which is a possibility since I am probably 6 drinks deep when trying to put it back on..but wouldn't you think the manufacturer would think of that when trying to market this..I mean who uses an outdoor heater in the winter sober? The zipper is convenient and the material seems water proof and strong. But it is very frustrating putting it back on.
Excellent ! Kitchen Ladder Needed When Putting It On or Removing It.
December 3, 2012
Putting the cover on required me to use a kitchen step ladder. It went on easily otherwise. I had absolutely no problems putting it on alone. Although some have said it is a "two person job", I didn't need a second person to help - just the kitchen ladder. An earlier review mentioned that the cover acts like a sail in high winds, turning the patio heater over. So I have used small bungee cords to loosely wrap the cover around the patio heater to eliminate that possible effect. It has since stood up to brisk wind with no problems. The loose excessive fabric was also a major visual obstacle. The bungee cords solved that. The cover seems to be very high quality. I have had no problems with it.

Problem solved
November 12, 2016
Had issues for the last 2 camping seasons with the propane tank that came with our pop-up (5 yrs old) we never knew if was going to work or not and wasn't sure if it was the tank or the camper that was the problem. Finally decided to buy a new tank and the problem was solved. It worked every time.
Do your research
December 9, 2013
I didn't do my research and overpaid - not the products fault though! The quality seems fine, but nothing special - have found cheaper options that looks the same (better for all I know) in local stores. However, unless you have a specific reason to buy a brand new tank, I highly recommend finding an exchange near you. If you don't use it all that often, it will take a very long time to recoup the initial cost of purchasing the tank and then filling it (in my area at least).

The Glass was very nice but I had to return it as I ended up having to purchase a different Fire Table which came with it's own Fire Glass and they suggested I not use any other Fire Glass in their product so I decided better safe than sorry. Very pretty, but some really small pieces like slivers and some sharp edges. Be caregul ehen handling and make sure you sweep up any that spilled really well. Love how it looks lit and unlit.
The cuts are very inconsistent but the color and appeal so far look nice.
May 18, 2017
As others have indicated, more than half of the pieces are smaller than 1/2 inch, while some are larger than 1 inch. The cuts are very inconsistent but the color and appeal so far look nice.I've since updated my rating to 4 stars because the glass has held up to multiple uses in my fire pit and still has a nice appeal.

Beautiful glass, but better size screening is needed by manufacturer
June 15, 2016
Beautiful color -Caribbean blue. I do wish there were more size options. It would seem for the typical propane fire pits sold at the big box stores , that it would need about 13-15 lbs of glass. Considering this isn't cheap, I know have to purchase more than I'll use.Otherwise, the stone looks gorgeous. Lava rock is lame compared to these beauties. While most of the pieces are indeed about 1/2", there is more than just a few 1/4" and smaller pieces. I wish they screened and sorted the glass better.Overall it looks great, but I'll need to buy more and I'm hoping I'll get more of the sizes of glass that I order, and not 20% undersized.
Nice glass you got there!
September 5, 2015
The glass is beautiful. So beautiful that we order 2 other color to do a blend. Using one color is nice but we wanted to go for a more unique look. I would of give 5 stars here but..... January 20, 2016
It puts out a good amount of heat. The construction is a little flimsy and the product had a few minor dings from shipping. The dings did not bother me enough to ship it back. I wouldn't classify this as a "commercial" unit and have seen better units for half the price. Time will tell. If the internal components last ten the extra cost would be worth it.

We found this hard to put on, and 2 hours after having it one a wind gust got under the cover and pulled our heater down. It bent the dome so we've stopped using it. We found when we put it on that it was difficult to get a tight seal with the drawstrings.

Too snug to be practical
December 7, 2014
I recently purchased the Fire Sense Patio Heater Cover to protect my bronze heater from the elements when not in use. Assembly is quick and only requires that the customer screw a few pieces of metal and slide them into a slot near the cover's zipper. The cover is a tight fit... too tight. In particular, the area near the top of the cover comes in too drastically, making the effort of trying to slide it on feel like it was going to bend the top of my heater in the process. This, coupled with the fact that heater is 7 feet tall, resulted in my retiring the cover for any sort of regular use. My hope is Fire Sense will revise the cover to not be a snug in a future iteration. Until then, my heater will brave the elements.
Where are the INSTRUCTIONS? It IS rocket science and It is complicated!
January 14, 2014
I guess my first impression was good as far as quality and heavy duty material being used. But how to cover the heater? It is NOT a one person job. You need a tall step ladder to get high enough (about 7 feet). Then you must somehow throw the entire cover over the large reflector (about 32") in order to get it to droop down to thefloor. Of course you must be careful not to bend the reflector while you attempt to align the cover with the reflector. The reflector works great, but it cannot take any uneven weight or else it will bend. It would be helpful if one of your arms extendedabout 4 feet because then you could simply reach over to the center of the reflector and drop the cover in place. Now remember, you are on a step ladder while doing all this, so your balance is critical so that you don't go crashing into the heater. And what is the point of the long metal rod that is inserted into a sleeve next to the zipper? My solution (and it's quite silly, I suppose), is to take off the reflector and then fling the cover over the top while standing on the ladder.I hope somebody will read this review and respond with perfectly sane and logical instructions. I feel like a dummy because I cannot figure it out! Hey, I'm a professional furniture and cabinet maker. It's embarrassing.....
Does not fit 38 inch dome
November 10, 2013
Seems like a good cover but make sure your patio heater has a dome that is less than 36 inches. Although the description says its 38 inches in diameter, the cover will not fit a 38 inch dome. I found out the hard way...VERY tight fit, as it's going to be difficult to put on and take off since it's too small for my patio heater. It'll do for now until I find a bigger one.
Poor quality
July 1, 2013
While the thickness of the cover appears to be okay to protect the heater, the cover arrived damaged. It appears that it was never fully sewn, resulting in a rather large hole on the horizontal seam. For approx. $24 (tax included), it's always a decision whether it is worth the hassle to return something. We can probably sew it ourselves or use black tape to conceal the hole and keep moisture from getting inside the cover. It is just disappointing when quality control fails, and it seems to be happening more and more with consumer goods.I read previous reviews regarding the cover turning into a "sail" when the wind blows. I have seen this as well. We have opted to move the covered heater to the side of the house that is protected from the wind when we are not using it. Again, a bit of an inconvenience. I have also considered wrapping a bungee cord around it to prevent it from filling with air.

Not as durable as advertised, mine is charring around the edges
October 17, 2017
Looks beautiful but after only a few uses, of maybe 10 hours total, there is charring around the edges of some of the glass. I didn't think this stuff was supposed to do that. It makes me question its heat durability. We use this on a fire table, 30,000 btu I believe. The listing says it won't melt or degrade but, clearly it does. It's also worth nothing the glass is covered at all times when not in use.

Average at best
August 24, 2016
Product arrived with some damage, but assembled ok. We're in California where it doesn't ever rain so the bolt rust has not been an issue. The quality is tad below average, in my opinion and time will tell how well it holds up. The chairs are very laid back and very low to the ground, comfort is ok but not great. Too much work to tear apart and send back so we're living with them. In a few months of use, the cushions are already showing signs of weather so I highly suggest storing them if they are to be used in direct sunlight until you use them.

Doesn't seem to be very sturdy.
January 7, 2016
Got this case to cover my newly purchased heat lamp that is now installed on the patio. It does a great job covering it fully, top to bottom and the zipper has a pull line which allow for easier opening/closing. I went out two days after putting this on and found that one of the seams at the top was already coming apart and I could see the insulation from the inside of the cover. Granted that it was a bit windy, but if this is what it's like after two days, I'm not sure it'll survive the entire winter season.
No vent causes the cover to balloon up and act like a kite in light wind
November 17, 2015
This cover did fit my new patio heater quite well however within 2 weeks it failed. After covering and uncovering my heater 3 times, the zipper failed. Another problem with this cover is that it is not vented at all. This causes the cover to balloon up and act like a kite in light wind. On a windy day with gusts to 20 mph, the ballooning caused the tie down to rip off the cover and made the heater almost tip over as it acted like a drag chute. Also without the vent, a lot of condensation forms under the cover. I would take a pass on this one and find one with a vent. I missed my return window by a week so $35 off to the landfill.
Remove this in a wind storm.
February 20, 2014
I guess the quality is okay at first. But any strong wind will turn this into a sail and yank the heater right out of the ground and on to it's side. It will also tear the zipper. I'd advise not buying a cover in the first place. I've thrown mine away now because it's pretty windy where I live and after having to re-attach the heater to the concrete several times, I'd rather just let the heater sit out in the elements. And I can now attest to the fact that with the cover removed, the heater stays planted in the ground and doesn't move. Strong winds go right around the unit.

This cover is too hard to get off the heater...there are screws on the top and the cover gets caught...I am about 5'5 and I did use a step stool and it still took me about 15 minutes to get the cover off. ( I did put the heater together by myself in about an 1 hr)...and getting the cover on and off is harder...I cut a tarp and bungee cord it...easy and one to three off. The cover is nicely made and I have kept it for summer storage, but, to use in the winter and take it off once a week or so...NO WAY...

Thought we were getting a full tank. Read the descriptions. It is an over-priced empty tank.

Not as expected.

Wasn't happy when I had it filled and took the wrapper off, dated 1/24/10. That puts 7 years on it already.
Valve problems
April 26, 2016
Bought one, valve did not work (checked on several appliances). Worthington sent me another tank but it had the same problem, again tested on several different gas appliances. 40 bucks down the drain.
High priced Costco cheaper
June 16, 2014
Good quality tank but Costco has one with a gauge on it for a little less money just as good
Valve lasted just over a year
July 24, 2013
Bought two of these tanks for our weber grill --- one tank works fine - it has a shiney valve, the other tank - the valve is not so shine and got used probably just 10 times in the last year and now the valve froze up, even with wrench it wont turn and feels like it will break - not taking chances.

Only about a third of the glass was 1/2 inch the rest were very small pieces.
Turns black
April 27, 2017
This glass looks nice at first but after first use it turned black on the reflective side!
It looks like green in the pictures
January 9, 2017
It looks like green in the pictures, but it is more blue and disappointing when i put it in my fireplace because of the color.

Glass is melting and turning red/brown color
April 20, 2016
Great looking - good size, not too small. However, after running my fireplace for a week or so, the glass along the flame is melting and turning redish/brown in color. Yes, melting, as in the edges are rounded off and the coloration is turning to a hazy brown/red color. I'm pretty sure this was not supposed to happen. Although not the end of the world, as this is maybe 5% of the total area that the glass is spread out, I'm disappointed that it happened.
Seems nice if you want smaller pieces of glass
March 22, 2016
Seems nice if you want smaller pieces of glass. I went with the 1" Starfire glass and like it much better.

RUST Don't buy!!!
May 14, 2016
Rusting after 2 weeks. We assembled and put it on a patio for the last two weeks. We live in Southern California and it rained one day!!! I can't turn it on because of Rust on the knob.
Don't bother
November 27, 2015
Doesn't kick out much heat at all, but much worse is that with the slightest breeze - it tips over. Ours was smashed and ruined almost immediately. And yes, we weighted it.
Doesn't last
October 24, 2015
Bought this in late January 2015. We live in San Diego which has cool nights much of the year. It worked fine through early spring, then we let it sit for the summer. Went to fire it up this fall and the igniter plunger was frozen. Was able to get it loosened up by tapping gently with a hammer and some piers. Unfortunately, the tapping caused pieces of the apparently brittle screen to fall to the ground, leaving three or so 1" holes in it. Going to contact customer support and I'll let you know how that goes, but at this point I'm definitely sorry I bought it.UPDATE: Note that this review is for the "Fire Sense 46,000 BTU *XL-Series* Mocha All Weather Wicker Commercial Grade Propane Patio Heater w/Wheels". Apparently many of the reviews are grouped by either vendor or manufacturer, as I found my review under another Golden Flame heater that I did not purchase. Regarding the return, I couldn't find the return information for the vendor in their profile so Amazon made an exception and allowed me to return it to them at their cost. WoW. Amazon Prime is awesome, but the heater is still not a good choice. Looking for a pyramid one instead -- on Amazon for sure.

Not Worth It
October 31, 2017
I manage a bar and bought this for our patio heaters. The cover is so big and difficult to put on with very few instructions. Even our tallest guys on chairs had a hard time putting them on. Was way easier to just take in the heaters at the end of the night than wasting all the time to cover them.
Bummer

Great cover if you want a windsail
January 30, 2017
Great cover if you want a windsail. First halfway decent wind we had this thing took a $300 heater to the ground, destroying it. I should have tied it down or cinched it somehow, but why wouldn't the manufacturer build straps or ties into it? They must know this is an issue. Big regrets in buying this thing. If you're going to buy it, strap it tight or you will regret it.
Horrible cheap product.
December 12, 2016
bought 2. 1 arrived torn, (Great customer service with a quick replacement!) second one tore as we put it on the heater. Would never buy these again - such a hassle.
Make Sure To Take Heat Reflector Measurements
February 4, 2015
Be careful to measure the top heat reflector as the cover gets very tight up top and will not fit if your heater has a wide measurement...that isn't spelled out to well in the product description...going by the picture on the item number misleads you to believe that the top of the cover is much more roomer than it actually is
The tore VERY easily
January 14, 2014
I purchased two heater covers. I put them on my heaters and on of them tore the exterior of the cover (the black part, not the cotton looking inside material.) Thankfully they haven't yet tore all the way through both layers, but I'm not sure how well they will full protect my heaters against the elements now considering water can soak in. Now that I have them, they are better than nothing, but I wouldn't order them again.

The man who tried to put the propane in said it must have a bad valve.
May 12, 2017
The propane tank won't take any gas. Amazon won't take returns on this. The man who tried to put the propane in said it must have a bad valve.
Don't wait to get it checked!!!
February 23, 2017
Defective out of the box. A local Ace let me exchange it, which I was lucky since I had waited to fill it well beyond my returnable time.
Defective. Out of box failure.
October 8, 2016
Unboxed. Took it to a filling place, they couldn't fill it. Nothing would go in. Took it to another place same thing. Disappointed, wasted my time and energy driving to different places to try to get this filled. And then I learned that this item can not be returned and replaced. Just got ripped off by Amazon...
Over priced
July 30, 2016
Over priced....home depot was 14 bucks cheaper
Don't waste you money
September 5, 2015
Read description carefully, these tanks come empty. You can go to your local OSH and buy a filled tank for the same price.
How is this better?
November 26, 2013
I had it filled, took proper amount. Yet when hooked up it only has a little pressure. And when took 2 refill it. It still had over 3 gals of unused fuel. I can send it back with fuel in it. So my only recourse is to use my $65 refillable tank as a trade in for a $50 recyleable tank, that cost $25 compared to $12 each time. Instead of saving money it costs more.

Horrible customer service and warranty!
October 9, 2017
Purchased 20 lbs of the clear platinum color. Pieces are not the same size some really small and some really big. Also, One bag was very shiny and nice like the pictures. Other bag was very dull and cloudy, even after washing. Contacted star fire for a replacement and was denied. They suggested that I clean it, even though I already did. For the amount of money spent on this fire glass I am very unhappy and dissatisfied. Their customer service and warranty is horrible!

By far my worst purchase on Amazon ever
February 25, 2017
I purchased 1/2 Starfire glass in 2 colors and 2 10 pound bags. Between the 2 bags there were no more then 10 pieces that were actually 1/2 inch. Most were smaller then 1/4 inch and many even smaller. In fact they were so small they fell through the holes in my fire pit. My only regret is that I mixed the 2 colors pouring them into the fire pit and thus I can not return them. By far my worst purchase on Amazon ever.
Broken mirror
July 29, 2016
They put a mirror finish on one side of a sheet of blue glass, shatter the glass, then run it through a tumbler to slightly dull the edges. Piece sizes vary greatly. Some are 1/8" and still sharp.

Quality Issue

I returned mine before assembly as one of the legs had wicker unraveling in the box it was shipped in. Figured it was a red flag to poor quality.
