Five Star Reviews: | 57% These are excellent pickups, The sound and feel is on par ... May 13, 2017 These are excellent pickups, The sound and feel is on par with any of the really expensive pickups without giving out names. I love these pickups even though the hex screws aren't reliable,I won't be messing with those screws because somehow they seem no to work which is understandable at this cost. To me that doesn't diminish the value because the sound is as good as the best high output pickups out there. I tried them in different guitars and consistently I got a good sound. but sound good enough for the price April 23, 2017 They look kinda cheesy, but sound good enough for the price... amazing! i cant believe that the quality and sounds ... September 16, 2016 bought these to check them out. put the bridge pup in a bc rich bich and it sounds, to my surprise, amazing! i cant believe that the quality and sounds can be gotten for this price. easily compares to semour duncin. i have 10 guitars and have played for 40 years. i know my equipment. these are well worth it!!! If you don't want to waste money on a budget guitar but want that Duncan Invader sound give these a chance. They are brutal! July 9, 2016 OMG these pickups are good. I only needed the bridge pickup. I put it in my new Kramer 211 Striker which comes stock with some garbage Epiphone humbucker. They are tens time clearer and have about 4 times the output of the Epiphone's supposed Alnico 5 magnets. Man for $8 a pickup you can't miss. They sound just as good as Invaders although I suspect they are closer to an SH-6. I can't really do a comparison because my Ibanez that has the Invader is strung for death metal but These Kmise MI0339s are beautiful for metal and hard rock. The only issue is wiring. They wire just like Duncan Invaders or any Duncans really. The black wire is hot and the ground is soldered to another ground it looks like. The red and white are soldered off for coil splitting. Tape off the red and white. My Epiphone pickup was wired a little differently so without making a rat's nest out of my Kramer I just cut back the Epiphone's wire and spliced the ground to ground and hot to hot. Worked fine. Bang for the buck June 17, 2016 For a invader knockoff these are surprisingly powerful and sound good.. Got these for a cheapy project guitar and normally use Seymour Duncan pickups.. Mind BLOWN.. You really can't lose for the price on these.. Great price ! Usable tone. I have installed these pickups in many guitars and they rock. November 29, 2015 Great price for these pickups. The OHM'S are not as listed but for the price they ROCK !I have installed these in many guitars all have a similar tone as a invaders have. For the Crunch and mid boost make these a good choice for all of your High Gain applications. The clean tone was OK and offers a usable tone. Buy them and ROCK ON ! | 64% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 28% Four Stars April 24, 2017 Great sound for the price, clean and powerful without any noise or hum. Easy to install. Not as loud as id like March 21, 2017 There ok they do there job not as loud as they should be but over all was good buy for the price Great for the price! April 30, 2016 Initially the pickups were a bit noisy but I corrected that by using extra shielding. Now they absolutely scream! For the price these are definitely worth grabbing if you're playing hard rock or metal. Solid lows and mids and fairly bright top end. Would not recommend these for acoustic playing or classic rock, they do lack that warmth you generally are looking for in that tone. However, if you play Metallica, Pantera, etc. These pickups are very good. I also tuned the guitar down a half step and it helped mitigate the really bright top end Great set of pickups! April 7, 2016 If you take "for the price" out of the equation, this is still a really good set of pickups. Are they as good as the real thing? Not quite. But they're close. Very punchy sound, clear articulation, and very hot. Once you consider the price, this set can't be beat. I should mention first that the build quality of these pickups aren't too good. The wires inside the pickups are kind of ... August 4, 2015 I suppose I'm a bit of a tone snob . But not a big one . I have dimarzio pickups in both of my main guitars. I mainly prefer the high output pickups for rock and metal and lead type playing . So when I saw these I didn't want to pass up buying them even though I don't necessarily have a use for them right now . A set of invader style pickups for $15 shipped ? I had to see what they were about .I should mention first that the build quality of these pickups aren't too good . The wires inside the pickups are kind of sticking out from the bottom , there is some kind of line of glue on the body of the pickups and some at the top where the pole pieces are . I'm not sure if it's wax or glue but it's there ,and these things make the pickups look a bit sloppy . For the price I say these aren't too bad , they sound quite decent . The output is what I expected , they're made for rock style music . I bet if you played these pickups next to name brand pickups to a newbie or a tonedef player, they'll hardly notice a difference . But as a player who's been playing for about 12 years I can definitely hear the difference .These are good for your all around rock needs , but in comparison to my Schecter with a D-activator in the bridge , these don't have as much output, punch and clarity . There's a bit of a muddy feel to them , aka they're not as crisp and clear . But still pretty close and the D activator is. $70 pickup where as these cost you $15 for a set . It's close but not quite there .I tried them on my fender mustang amp ii and through guitar rig 5 , and the biggest differences I hear are slightly less output and less clarity , so the sound does get a bit muddy when you're playing fast palm mutted stuff like Metallica etc . But still overall they're not bad , and if you're looking for higher output pickups these should do decently well . ..Btw, these come with no wiring instructions . But black/bare are ground , white and red wires are soldered together and green is hot . Decent very inexpensive high output ceramic magnet pickups July 18, 2015 Screws and springs were included with these pickups. I installed only the bridge pickup because my guitar is a single humbucker style with only a volume control the way i like it, so keep that in mind with my review. Clarity is great with distortion or clean and has an aggressive rock/metal tone due to the ceramic magnets. Has that rock 'growl' that i love, and clean sound is nice. I havent tried the real Invader pickups, but if they are anything like these, i would highly recommend them. And the info is correct. The bridge pickup is at 16.2K when i tested it with my multimeter. FYI, the white and red wires come soldered together for coil splitting, the thin black wire is HOT and the thick black wire is GROUND. Lastly, the pickups are wax potted and pretty quiet. Three Star Reviews: | 2% Better than garbage, but that's it. You get what you pay for. December 30, 2016 Measured 13.6k and 6.2k instead of the advertised 15 and 7. That being said, for the very small amount of money, they do sound better than the stock Epiphone pickups they replaced. It's hard to fault them given the price, but keep in mind these are meant to be a slight upgrade from complete garbage pickups and nothing more. These are nowhere near the sound of real high output pickups like any higher Seymour Duncans, D'mizzario, or the passive Emg Hz. I think the 5 and 4 star reviews are undeserved, save them for real pickups. | 6% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 9% don't waste your money January 13, 2016 You get what you pay for. These pickups are extremely loud but lack any sort of clarity. If you play trash metal, then these "may" be mediocre but any other style, don't waste your money. The cleans on this sounds horrible. My simple advice, save up some money and buy set of seymour duncans or dimarzio's. Meh August 25, 2015 Not that bad for the price, but I found the bridge pickup to be to brittle, I had them in my guitar for a few weeks but took them out.. | 7% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
