Five Star Reviews: | 63% Hugs to the team who invented this product! September 3, 2017 This is an amazing product! I used to get it at the drug store but none of them carry it any longer. It does NOT burn like some of them do. I've had this wound for months and wound care nurses who were not familiar with stripable skin. After she tore my skin off with the tape, I was able to repair myself with this product. I fired that nurse, but have shown the other nurses how to remove tape more carefully and they are using this product on others who have tissue breakdown due to all the tape. TRULY DOES NOT STING. Because my husband is going ... August 16, 2017 TRULY DOES NOT STING. Because my husband is going through chemo therapy, his cuts are very sensitive. This liquid bandage is definitely worth the price. Perfect pain free liquid bandage July 12, 2017 Product arrived on time, as expected and well packaged. Product is perfect for minor scrapes and cuts especially for children who do not care for painful second skin options who do not stay dry. Also perfect when bandaids are not ideal.... perfect for the hockey or skating mom always slicing their fingers A must in all first-aid kits and diaper bags. April 24, 2017 This is the best to use for little ones it doesn't sing and brings instant relief. I have used it on my kids since they were babies. It wears off after a few baths. Great February 24, 2013 Love this stuff! I am an emergency physician, and a soccer mom, and I keep this in my first aid kit. It doesn't sting at all, unlike the other brands I have tried. It is a dirt magnet, like all skin glues. so I always warn everyone after I apply it that it will protect the scrape even though it attracts alot of dirt and looks horrible!! absolutely the best liquid bandage on the market May 11, 2012 I have a skin condition on my arms that makes it impossible to use ordinary bandages. My thin skin tares when I try to remove them. I have tried other liquid bandage products and they sting greatly and take for ever to dry. The smell of these others lingers for hours. The Nextcare spray bandage doesn't sting or smell. It dries fast and lasts for days. I am so happy the item is available on line since it is hard to find in drug stores. | 66% This stuff is amazing, I have been buying it for years and ... August 19, 2017 This stuff is amazing, I have been buying it for years and am so thinkful the company made something like this! Great Skin Crack Care! Not a Liquid Bandage ... May 25, 2017 At taking care of SKIN CRACKS this is the best product out there. It is not a liquid bandage! If your knuckles are frayed or abraded, or you have fingertip cracks, this stuff will allow the area to heal with a flexible coating of liquid that dries to a pliable clear finish. It will need to be re-applied for a few days until healing is complete. It is not for open wounds, or cuts. It is for ... skin cracks! Works well and doesn't sting July 22, 2016 I've been using this product for over a year now and I think it's great. I've used a similar product in the past, but it stung badly when I applied it. This stuff barely stings at all, and only on the deepest cuts. I use it frequently around my fingernails and it cuts down on pain. Excellent Product July 19, 2015 If you have those cuts on your hands in the Winter like I get then this is what you'll need. I get cut to ribbons because my hands are in water a lot and in the Winter that can be very bad. We have very hard water and my hands sting with pain with the cuts. I just brush this on, it's like nail polish and the stinging is gone. It stays too! It drys on your skin protecting it from the water. I apply it once a week. You only need it on the cuts. I use Zim's crack creme for the rawness and that works great too. Best Seal for skin cracks January 12, 2015 If you let your fingers get too dehydrated (O'Keeffe's Working Hands is the best I have found as a moisturizer), this will temporarily close the cracks. It is the best product I have found. It is much like nail polish. It has much better sealing and adhesive properties than New Skin. I really have not found a product nearly as good as this one.The only down side is that the bottle dries out after a while. Skin crack care sealer January 12, 2015 This is a great buy with 24 ounces in total as opposed to tiny bottles that look like nail polish. You may need to put it on up to four times a day as the finger protectors my husband wears cause sweating and also friction causes it to wear off. This works well but it is not thick-about the consistency of clear nail polish so you may have to put on more than one coat at a time. It helps in conjunction with the waterproof finger protectors he wears as well as latex gloves when he washes dishes. It is not tacky or sticky and will not cling to gloves. Will continue buying this product. | 51% | 64% For hard to reach areas and great way to stop bleeding fast. August 15, 2017 Curad flex bandage spray is awesome. I had been using it for a minor cut that is hard to get a bandage properly to adhere and cover. It works great.A day ago I was cutting an item I slipped and cut my thumb pretty well. I was having a rough time getting it to stop bleeding. I applied the Curad flex bandage and in a few seconds it sealed and stopped the bleeding. I am very impressed and will be a returning happy customer. Waterproof and stays put on skin April 30, 2017 Good for areas that a band aid won't stay. Good for washing because of being waterproof. The absolute best for scrapes, cuts, on hairy or bendy parts :) September 9, 2016 Why can't I find this in stores anymore? If anyone knows which store sells these please comment here and tell me! This is the BEST for scrapes and cuts on hands and bendy parts. My boys scream when they see it, and I figure "Hey,it's not like it's Bactine or something, get back here?" but it coats and seals and protects their scraped up bendy parts so they can go back to playing. Also with hairy arms and legs, bandaids don't stick well, so this is a no-brainer and lasts for a day or two with a few coats. It stings a bit at first (I also use it on me, especially on fingers/hands) but the second coat doesn't hurt. It even will fill in little cuts so they will stop opening up and start healing. It's not globby and yellow like New Skin or liquid bandage. This stuff is the best and I wish I could find it locally. We go through a lot of it! Works well August 25, 2016 Works really well. Suggestion: if spraying onto hand cuts, position over a garbage can and spray. Overspray can be sticky to clean up. I had two cuts 3 days ago: one I used this stuff, the other I used Liquid Bandage. The LB cut got a little infected, had to clean it and reseal it again, the one using this (which was bigger) never caused me a moment more trouble. GREAT solution for cuts February 12, 2016 Glue me up Scottie! This stuff is the best. Cut myself while vacationing at the beach and it glued my cut very well. I was able to put on a waterproof bandage on top and swim and play hard all week without skipping a beat. Just reapplied nightly after being in and out of water all day long. |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% This is definitely no sting otherwise my 2 yr old ... June 13, 2017 This is definitely no sting otherwise my 2 yr old would have screamed with there was more product in the small container. Four Stars May 17, 2017 Not a perfect seal on the first try, but much better than just letting a cut flow freely. This is a really good idea, but it is sticky October 13, 2015 This is a really good idea, but it is little sticky. My kids didn't like how it was sticky after I sprayed it on. My oldest son washed it off right away because it bugged him so bad. Good Stuff! April 14, 2015 Works wonderfully, but goes on a little thinly. It does not sting at all. Works well over larger areas. For smaller areas or cuts use the Nextcare Skin Crack Care. Seals to keep the water out, but does wash/wear off over the course of a day so you will have to apply several times. Good stuff though!!! I'd really like to give this 4.5 stars rather than 4 because it's better than 4 stars. For my Dad April 5, 2013 My Dad has very thin skin and it tears very easily. He also has to take blood thinners and bleeds a lot, even if its just a scratch. He can't use bandaids on a wound, even minor one, because when he tries to remove the bandaid, the sticky on it tears his skin worse. This spray on bandage works really good. Only prob is to get the wound to stop his bleeding in order to apply on the spray. I would recommend this product. Very effective for the elderly with fragile skin. | 13% This should be called "no more tears" August 26, 2017 Never mind that other brand that stings like crazy. This one does not. And when you put it on it lasts longer. It comes in a pretty small bottle. but I've had mine long enough for it to get a bit dried out and gloppy and since I need to pitch that and buy another my guess is the size is just right unless you've got a pile of kids who are always cutting and scraping themselves. So it's kind of pricey, especially per ounce compared to the competition, but I would seriously buy it again because it doesn't hurt to put it on a cut. Finger and toes cuts December 10, 2016 So small of amount, crazy the bottle tiny it my just fall over, other then the 10 bucks and the bottle, it works. will end up looking for a different brand. Helps with dry skin cracks. November 28, 2016 Cold weather arrives and I get fingers with painful cracks, especially after a few hours shoveling snow. I tried lotions, bandages, gloves - no luck. NexCare seals the crack allowing it to heal. Best of all it seems when it seals the crack, the pain is minimized. As promised May 12, 2015 This stuff doesn't sting and works pretty well. However the only draw back was that the edges would peel and hurt other cracks. This is probably not an issue for most people since I have numerous cracks at all times. Great Product - Rediculous Price July 7, 2013 This stuff is great for sealing up small cuts or cracks in your hands and feet. I use this all of the time and it works really well. The price always seems ridiculous for the tiny bottle of it you get. That said I keep buying the product because it works and I always want a bottle of it in my 1st aid kit. Not nearly as good as 2-octyl cyanoacrylate products September 24, 2010 I was extremely pleased for many years with the original Band-Aid Liquid Bandage which contained the miracle ingredient 2-octyl cyanoacrylate, a human-safe version of superglue which is currently used by doctors/surgeons/vets as the best available product. This Nexcare product doesn't work as well in any respect compared to the original, and 3M knows it, but it is no longer sold over the counter to people (evidently too many folks were not careful in using it). Note that acetone (horribly stinky nail-polish remover) or mineral oil or any superglue remover does remove this human-safe version of superglue, but this was not common-enough knowledge and folks did not have a remover readily available when they misused it. So it was removed from the consumer market several years ago, evidently due to liability concerns.I used the original Band-Aid liquid bandage for many years for my painful winter skin cracks. A miracle product since it instantly cut the pain. When it was discontinued I tried literally every other product on the market and all had serious deficiencies. This Nexcare liquid bandaid is adequate in filling skin cracks except it doesn't cut the pain at all (my main gripe) and doesn't last nearly as long.I just serendipitously stumbled onto the wikipedia entry for Cyanoacrylate, which includes this in its introductory remarks:"2-octyl cyanoacrylate is a medical grade glue encountered under various trade names; e.g., LiquiBand, SurgiSeal, FloraSeal, Dermabond, Orabase, Surgi-Lock and Nexaband. This was developed to be non-toxic and less irritating to skin tissue."I searched amazon and the only two products in the list of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate products above from wikipedia that are sold (by amazon) are Dermabond (0.5ml for $17) and Surgi-Lock 2oc (2.0ml for $40). There is no other liquid bandage that compares to a product with the main ingredient cyano 2oc -- at least that is what the medical establishment believes (and I know from years of experience, having tried all the liquid bandages on the market). Sorry the real stuff is expensive, but you get what you pay for (plus they can charge doctors nearly any price and get away with it).===============================================================Off topic somewhat, the doctors in our family have recently turned me on to an excellent non-liquid bandage which they use, but a year later, pharmacies still do not sell this quite amazing product. However Amazon does sell it, "3M Micropore paper tape" (also called "3M Micropore surgical tape" because that's what surgeons use). 12 small portable rolls of 10 yards(!) each are about $10, which will last you forever. I have been using the 1" wide version for the past year (also have the 2" wide version, but haven't had a wound that wide yet :-) and am very impressed by its properties. You can easily tear it by hand (no scissors needed!) to the length you want, you can put it on a wound in one layer or wrap it around a finger one or more times. It is "micropore", ie. it lets the wound breathe, and is waterproof enough to stay on through a couple of days of showers.================================================================12/26/14 update: "3M Vetbond" is currently the most cost-effective of the thin medical-grade cyanoacrylate products.Apply one layer (1 drop), let dry (blow on it for faster drying), then apply one or two more layers (drops) and let dry between each, to get the desired thickness. One bottle should last for at 50 two-drop skin crack fixups.By the way, the "3M Nexcare skin crack care" product is almost useless in comparison to "3M Vetbond" | 12% A medicine cabinet must have June 17, 2017 When a bandage strip just won't work, this will keep a wound clean and covered. It works well witj my flats. I still yet ... May 10, 2017 It works well witj my flats. I still yet to try it with my heels. I thinks it may work well but I hopefully will try it for heels soon . Good product for certain uses May 3, 2015 Loud but effective for places where a bandaid is difficult to use, i.e., hand, wrist. The smell might bother some. Good product. | 16% ... in a pinch but it will peel off fairly easily. April 13, 2017 Does the trick in a pinch but it will peel off fairly easily. Tiny can, but if it works as stated, everyone should keep it close at hand! October 4, 2016 I have not had a chance to use it, however as a former EMT, I could see a reason to have and keep with me. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it is TINY for the price! Once I have a chance to use it I will update the review. |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Sticky stuff April 20, 2014 I primarily bought this item for my 3 y/o daughter who hates and will not wear any type of bandages. It did the job and did not sting which was great! When I tried it on myself I found it to be VERY sticky upon applying and really didn't hold the blood in from my small cut. So if you are going to use this item make sure the bleeding has stopped before applying. Other than that it was a great purchase. A worthy idea but.... January 16, 2014 A pain to apply on parts distant from the bottle in one's hand. For example, aiming for the sweet spot on a foot is an exercise, hit, miss, and maybe. The bottle is very small, the mist sprayed outward and or downward, is diffuse, colorless, and prone to drift past its destination, in other words, it's wasted, most of it. If it gets there, and th at's hard to see on initial application, it does its job and lasts for a bit, but only a bit. It is also rather expensive, considering the amt. wasted . I will not buy again. Wish it had been a better product within in a more intelligent spray and mist container. There is no indicator, for example of where the spray is emitted. A little dab of color could easily accomplish that. And make application a darned sight more thrifty Nexcare No Sting Liquid Bandage Spray January 6, 2014 A quick & effective way of covering a minor wound when there os no time to do proper bandaging. Not a substitute for a proper bandage. Just so-so September 26, 2013 I have no idea what kind of pain tolerance a person must have to think of this as "painful"---anyway, it doesn't go on in one coat (so it wont last long)and you really do have to re-do it after every shower. Unless my scrape was too deep and long---but that is exactly what they say it is meant for? Works but is light duty. September 21, 2013 Doesn't sting or smell yet works for light duty cuts. New Skin is better for heavy cuts, I once stopped a deep glass cut on my leg with New Skin that this Nexcare is not thick enough to handle. Nexcare would be great for kids light cuts with New Skin as a backup for heaver cuts. | 7% works ok June 14, 2014 I have used it several time but not sure if it is doing any good but I wouldn't say it wouldn't work for you wasn't impressed March 2, 2014 I work a lot of overtime and my skin sometimes cracks on my fingers. Tried this, applied it several times and could not tell much difference. Don;t think I'll buy it again. Just ok! March 25, 2013 I have to apply it often to protect the crack on my finger. It wears off too quickly. I probably won't buy it again. Worked OK December 10, 2012 My husband gets awful cracks from working outdoors and we were excited when we saw this product. It helped but wasn't a miracle cure. I think that a good hand creme applied many times a day works just as well. He also applies creme and wraps his fingers overnight. That seems to help the most. | 10% Good product, but its brush-on version is superior July 16, 2016 I bought the spray=on version of New Skin to compare against the older, brush-on style. Here are my findings:PROS:+ Like the brush-on New Skin, this product is great for quickly sealing and protecting cuts on pars of your body where traditional band-aids don't work well -- joints, especially fingers and hands.+ The product dries in about 3 minutes into a mostly-clear, somewhat flexible synthetic "scab."+ Because it is a spray, there is little or no risk of cross-contamination between users, in contrast to pathogens that might conceivably be communicated between users sharing the brush-on model. However, the antiseptic properties of New Skin itself make it unlikely any pathogen would survive that contamination route.+ In contrast to Band-aids, you can shower or wash a cut protected by New Skin, and it won't get soggy or wash away.CONS:- Hard to aim the spray in exactly the right place.- Often squirts on more New Skin than you really want. requiring extended drying times.- After a day or so, New Skin tends to crack and flake, requiring trimming (I use nail scissors) or re-sealing with more New Skin.CONCLUSIONS:New skin is far superior to Band-aids for cuts on your hands, elbows, knees, or feet. However, the spray-on version of New Skin is inferior to its brush-on version because it does not provide sufficient control over where and how much New Skin is applied. This product is good, but the brush-on version is better.. Not a breakthrough July 26, 2014 If you're expecting a liquid skin that deals with the mess of protecting cuts and bruises from elements - yes , it can do an OK job.Ber in mind in can be washed off, tears easily once cure and flakes in the process. Cannot say if any cuts I took were faster to close. Oh well. | 12% Ill go back to the liquid vs gaseous bandage spray. August 12, 2016 Spray tends to hit a much larger area than you want. Not great June 30, 2016 I normally use a different brand of liquid bandage, that is not clear, and thought this might be an improvement. It was not, it did not seal the wound I used it on, even after several coats, and it ran down my leg before drying. This did not dry as quickly as the brand i normally buy.It may work for very minor scratches, but I personally will not buy this brand again... This stings like all get out when applied December 10, 2015 This stings like all get out when applied, but it does seem to stay in place for a long time. I give it two coats, at least, with plenty of dry time between. I won't be using this on a child, but it's okay for adults who can handle the sting without screaming. |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% Seems okay; really small portion for the money. January 7, 2017 Seems like a nice product. Unbelievably skimpy as far as number of applications for the money spent. This is a little bottle of specialized liquid. I feel that its price greatly outweighs its value due to the small portion you get in a single spray bottle of it. Not to impressed June 29, 2016 Doesn't really seem to do anything. Spray it on and the cut feels the same. Other liquid bandage makes a sealant over the cut. Good thing is it did not sting September 9, 2015 Shipping took a long time. Product wears off quickly, have to reapply several times on my hand in an hour. Good thing is it did not sting. Thanks for the extra .01 March 31, 2014 Just okay at doing its job. Makes a very thin coating, so additional coats are usually needed. Rather expensive too for the amount given. I wonder how they figured they would make the quantity .61 fl oz instead of simply .6. The .01 extra is probably the amount that cannot be extracted from the bottle. I prefer Gluture flexible super glue for tissue. Pretty useless... December 29, 2013 I usually use the brush-on liquid bandage, but I recently acquired 2 new kittens, which means lots of leg scratches and cuts. I figured this would be an easier to use version, but it's not. It's almost not even noticeable, and doesn't really seal anything (even light scratches bleed through it). | 9% Super dissapointed!! February 9, 2016 They stopped carrying this in stores so i was happy to find it on Amazon. However whatever they have changed in the formula for this product makes it about as useful as clear nail polish. Its so thin and washes off after a couple hand washes. This used to be a great product. I wont buy this again.. Too expensive for what you get January 13, 2016 Like all these products, it works but the bottle is tiny. (.24 oz) New Skin is a much better value for essentially the same product. Don't Count on This March 13, 2015 This stuff is mildly helpful for those nasty cracks between finger and nail that tend to develop in winter, but you have to keep reapplying, and should probably apply liquid bandage over that. I'm a finger-picking guitarist, and my fingers really take a beating. Using this stuff and liquid bandage provided a cushion eventually, but it looked messy and ugly. I did much better using Working Hands hand cream Do not expect this to seal your skin like suture glue or skin glue March 6, 2015 Junk. Do not expect this to seal your skin like suture glue or skin glue, far more worth it to go get Vet bond for you AND your pet. This barely seals and wears off quickly. Lasted about 3 hours and 2 handwashings May 14, 2012 It sealed nicely initially but after washing my hands for the 2nd time in 3 hours, 1/3 of it peeled off. Continuing throught my day the remainder pealed off due to perspiration or something. In the end, I just used Krazy glue and it stayed strong for 3 days. This stuff probably only works on cuts that are not on the hands and are not on joints. I had a cut on the joint of my pinky finger. After the initial 10 minutes of burning and drying, it maybe lasted 30 minutes before I bent my finger and it cracked down the middle, allowing more pain and such into my cut. Seriously, dont wast your time with this and just use krazy glue, they both use acrylate polymer. | 5% Burns a bit. September 13, 2017 Prevents infection, but I'm glad I used it on myself before applying to cuts and scrapes on my grandkids. Reminds me of the iodine we used when I was a kid. | 3% Ok- not great March 9, 2017 Not like the old curad spray- didn't cover well or film over well I thought- wish i could get the old curad stuff- that worked well- I suppose it filmed over enough though if you have a cut to keep debri out- I just need something a bit stronger and more of a film- Not as thick as other spray bandage brand. I ... September 20, 2014 Not as thick as other spray bandage brand. I needed more of a protective layer for cuts on hands and fingers, this just was too thin. |
One Star Reviews: | 8% Thumbs down August 23, 2016 Disappointed. After two short sprays the bottle is almost empty. Also does not have any pain control. I prefer dermoplast. This is fairly worthless now that I had to use ... November 8, 2015 This is fairly worthless now that I had to use it. I sprayed on maybe ten coats and it essentially did nothing. No coverage, and whatever touched the cut i could still feel through many coats of this junk. Half empty bottle and nozzle clogs. August 12, 2015 The bottle was half-full on arrival. I used it once and it did okay. The next time I tried to use it the sprayer was clogged and nothing I tried cleared it (hot water, etc). So my recommendation is DO NOT BUY. Leaves a sticky residue. June 19, 2014 This stuff really doesn't work very well, and it leaves a very sticky residue all over the place. Definitely not worth it, no sting or not. It just doesn't do the job. | 5% Cheap green handcare moisturizer worked much better. March 8, 2016 Didn't work. Cheap green handcare moisturizer worked much better. I have used several products for skin cracks on finger ... September 17, 2015 I have used several products for skin cracks on finger tips. This one failed. I followed the directions carefully, but the cracks reopened. Product did not work for me. I will not buy again. Not for me August 11, 2015 Didn't work for me on the ball of the foot. I have yet to find one that will work there, however. NOT good July 27, 2012 This stuff has all the adhesive properties of Jell-O. Totally useless. The products containing 2-octyl cyanoacrylate are infinitely superior. At least I didn't waste a big pile of money on this. | 22% Comes out of the nozzle way too fast if you have a small cut October 26, 2017 It comes out of the nozzle too fast. I purchased this at CVS because I needed immediately and they did not have the one with the brush. I only recommend using this when you have a larger cut and you can use the hand that you use every day for things to put your finger on the nozzle. Otherwise it comes out way too fast. When you use the one with the brush like I just ordered and it just came in yesterday you have full and total control of how much you put on it doesn’t go all over the place. I have diabetes and I cut my finger a lot more than I should for some unknown reason so I wash my hands frequently as most people do I have to continuously change a band aid. Now eventually I got it down where I could spray it kind of without going all over the place you have to put on multiple coats and yes it does work and yes it becomes waterproof. But here’s what happened to me after only having it for three days all the air pressure went out of the can and I have a half used can that I paid almost $11 for that I have to throw in the garbage. I have a picture down below above. This stuff works great if you have a large cut I recommend the new skin with the brush for any small cuts because you don’t have to have it go all over the place so i have to order that thing seperately and im disappointed that i cant even use it without that October 1, 2017 0.it doesnt even have a clipper i thought when i bought it it has that thing included but i was wrong it doesnt have it.so i have to order that thing seperately and im disappointed that i cant even use it without that.and that is also much expensive than the tag remover. burns and leaves scars March 3, 2017 Terrible. Only worked for 1 day and then the sprayer stopped spraying. You can hear the product in the can but it is not coming out. Burns like hell and left a scar on my hand where I used it. When I contacted the company on their facebook page and emailed them about the broken product they ignored me, so I'm certain they know they are selling a faulty product. I used to be pretty loyal to New Skin products, after this I'm never using them again. Did a great job of coating my irregular wound April 16, 2016 The odor was so strong, I can't subject everyone else to it. Did a great job of coating my irregular wound, but I can't take this outside. Shame the product is being wasted. When I was young, the brush on version was easier to tolerate. | 5% |
