I loved it so much I ask for another for Christmas
June 24, 2017
Bought this griddle in early December 2015 (paid $21). I loved it so much I ask for another for Christmas. I received Presto 07037 Jumbo Cool Touch Electric Griddle, Black absolutely NO difference in the two except price. I used both a lot, grilled cheese, pancakes, french toast, when I want to make 8-10 burgers double if I use both, a ton of sliders at once, sausage, eggs, bacon (ok bacon gets a little messy but cook all at once 😉) and anything else I want to cook list goes on and on. As for the temperature setting they are spot on... I like to stay between 300°-400°. Never had any burn spots or uneven cooking.During a snow storm I challenged my 15 yrs old son to a pancake cook off. This boy NEVER cooks any thing that doesn't go in the microwave. Our pancakes turned out AWESOME. (Yes, I think I won😂)Bottom line great electric griddle. Might buy another so next snow storm we can get Dad in on the cook off!
Excellent Griddle

I bought this to replace an aging rival griddle. One day with the rival, the slide out tray accidentally fell of the counter and the impact broke off a big piece of plastic on the tray leaving it less than user friendly, nor with the ability to retain any type of liquid that might actually go into it. Went to rival's website to order another tray but to no avail, they don't have them.So I set my eyes on this beauty and I have no regrets. Heats quickly and evenly and works exceedingly well. The only issue that I can see is that the tray on the Presto does slide out very easily so you will want to be mindful of that. It actually slid out and fell to the floor a few days after I got it and I thought please don't be broken when I went to pick it up off the floor. The good news is...unlike my old rival, it handled the shock of the impact and wasn't damaged at all.Highly recommend this, just be careful with the tray when moving the griddle around or when picking it up and you'll be golden.
Breakfast made easy
September 19, 2015
We had been making big breakfasts using 3 or 4 pans at a time. This has made it much easier to make it through the mornings. We can cook multiple items at one time with ease. It helps make clean up faster as well. The product heats up very quickly. It is light weight and doesn't take up much space. I have had no issues with this at all.
I love this griddle I forgot to mention that I do use just a bit of olive oil on the griddle before pouring the batter on..
June 26, 2015
I love this griddle... it makes the best gluten free pancakes ever.... I read a lot of reviews and took my time trying to decide on a griddle that would make pancakes for us... this one is perfect.. I couldn't ask for it to work any better... It heats up really fast so I don't turn it on until I get my batter ready.. when your using gluten free batter you always want it to sit for a bit before pouring on the griddle so the flours can soak up the liquid... I set the temperature for 350 degrees.. wait for the light to go off and then pour 1/4 cup full of batter 3 times right across the center of the griddle to make 3 perfect pancakes.. They do cook fast... so you have to watch them... they cook even and beautiful every time... I make enough batter for my husband and I to each have 3 (4 inch) pancakes a piece... once I cook the 1st set of 3 pancakes I let the griddle heat up a bit before putting the other 3 on... perfection every time... From my experience with pancakes especially gluten free pancakes... the success or failure of pancakes is not so much what your cooking them on as it is the knowledge and skill level of the cook... once I understood the need for a griddle or pan on the stove to be hot but not too hot.. a batter that is just the right consistency and the understanding of when to turn the pancakes and when to take them off.. I was finally able to make perfect pancakes on any medium... but I have to say.. cooking pancakes on the griddle is the easiest and best way of any way than i know of... I'll try to post pictures to this review the next time I make pancakes...
excellent price and product

Great product! I'm fascinated with it.
Best bang for the buck!
December 3, 2010
After reading comments from other reviewers I was a little worried about uneven cooking when I ordered this, but in my experience (with pancakes) the difference in coloration was very minor between areas that were directly above the heating element and areas that weren't. I usually leave a good 5-10 mins for the griddle to heat up before I start cooking, so maybe if you throw the pancakes on right away after the minimum amount of warmup time you would get problems with uneven cooking, but personally I haven't experienced it. With cooking other things like grilled cheese sandwiches, there is no difference in coloration whatsoever between what was over the heating element and what wasn't. I followed the directions about "seasoning" the non-stick surface with canola oil before the first time I used it, and so far NOTHING sticks to this thing. It's been very easy to clean. Overall I love it, and compared to the price of other griddles out there I'm very happy with my purchase. It makes about six pancakes or sandwiches at a time, so I can easily produce food for 4-6 people faster than they can possibly eat it. The only negative is that, like other reviewers have mentioned, the legs on this griddle tend to slide across the countertop surface very easily. I solved it with a pack of 1/2" adhesive rubber feet I bought for $2.49 (similar to these: Waxman 4215395N 1/2-Inch Heavy Duty Bumper, Clear, Round), but despite how easy it was to fix this, it's really something Presto should have corrected before production so shame on them for that. Still, I would recommend this griddle to anyone in the market for a new one. I love it.

We have used this a lot for everything that works best on an electric griddle
May 5, 2017
I bought this in December 2016. We have used this a lot for everything that works best on an electric griddle. I live in Hawaii and electricity is a premium, so we used this instead of the electric range. It is time to buy a new one since the non stick is now gone. We will be looking for a ceramic one as a replacement. So does it work? Generally for the price, it is OK, not great. We used everything including metal cookware on the surface. My wife thinks it was a bit short on duration, however I think it was about right.Non of the griddles cook evenly due to the u-shaped heating coil. The end near the control is the hottest. So potatoes on the control end and eggs at the other end., with meat sort of in the middle. That's called breakfast.
Works well!
June 12, 2016
This has been a nice little grill for making family breakfast. I like that it is none stick and has the cooling boundary around it. Bacon takes a while to cook on it but pancakes and eggs are fast. Decent to clean, wish it was dish washer safe. Over all very happy with it.
Good addition to kitchen renovation arsenal
March 16, 2016
Can't be beat for making pancakes and other flat items. Not really versatile for other items. Just completed a kitchen renovation where we were without a stove for a couple of months and this was used probably 2 nights a week for certain items like eggs, pancakes, omelets (which are tricky, as the center is bowed to allow grease to be drawn into the tray). Presto products have interchangeable cords which is a plus
Makes perfect pancakes!

Good quality griddle. Heats evenly and cleans up easily. There are no rubber feet on the bottom, so it can slide around a bit. It plugs in on the end, which makes it longer, so make sure it will fit where you want to use it. Also, check the dimensions to make sure it will fit for you want to store it. It just barely fit in our cupboard.
Heats fairly evenly, convenient for feeding a crowd
February 17, 2013
I bought this lightweight electric griddle as a convenience when making pancakes, french toast, and other breakfast foods for a crowd. It's a good choice considering the price. Although the surface is lightweight and thin, it heats evenly enough to cook from edge to edge without either scorching the food or leaving undercooked stripes on my pancakes.I wouldn't use it for scrambled eggs or anything that starts out too liquid, as the liquid will tend to flow toward, and through, the grease drainage hole on the front of the cooking surface. The nonstick surface has held up under light use, though I don't know how it would fare if I used it every day.The griddle is fully immersible in water, making it very easy to clean. It is so lightweight that it tends to slide around on my granite countertops if I'm not careful. Non-skid rubber feet would have been a nice addition, but overall I'm happy with my purchase and use it a couple of times a month to cook breakfast for the family.
Nice Griddle, Yummy Breakfast!
July 28, 2011
I gave up the search for a well-reviewed, foldable, affordable griddle and bought this one instead. That being said, so far the griddle hasn't disappointed and has admirably and deliciously assisted in the cooking of delicious French Toasts and Pancakes and such.Clean up is pretty easy, easier if you have a big sink.Storage can be a bit of a problem, mine takes up an entire shelf in a small kitchen island. The cord is purposely short in order to save the dim-witted from tangling themselves all up with a hot griddle or throwing it in the tub still plugged in and such.Overall, happy with the product and recommended for those with large sinks and plenty of kitchen storage.

Really Bulky but Useful
January 12, 2017
Good for cooking for a large crowd. Although it does not heat up evenly on the entire cooking surface (the edges only get semi hot).you still have alot of cooking surface to cook on...much more so than a regular frying pan. Definitely saves time. You can cook about 6-8 five inch diam. pancakes on it. The one thing I don't like about it is that it's very big and bulky which makes it a pain to wash and store, but if you have the room to store it, it's worth the investment Price is right. Overall rating, I'd give it a 3 out of 5.
Works just fine for a small and inexpensive griddle.
July 4, 2016
This griddle works fine. It remains flat, heats evenly enough. Let's be honest, once you are accustomed to how your griddle heats, if it's slightly uneven, you adjust your food and probably take advantage of small differences. Handy for breakfast with eggs, bacon, and hash-browns---only one dirty "skillet" and it's real easy to clean.
Grease drawer falls out.
January 29, 2016
The griddle works fine. The grease drawer falls out if one isn't careful when carrying; mine fell and cracked. A better design would have the grease collector have a simple latch.

Gets the job done but doesn't cook evenly
February 25, 2015
This griddle is nothing like my old Presto, but it gets the job done. It seems like it gets a lot hotter than my old one so I've had to cook at a lower temp so I don't burn the food. I mainly use this griddle for pancakes and was disappointed that the pancakes didn't seem to cook evenly. So instead of a nice brown pancake, it will have the uneven track marks. I can live with this, but probably wouldn't purchase this griddle again.
Can't use all of the griddle space effectively
December 26, 2012
First of all, it's just a griddle. Overall, it gets the job done. It has a few pros and cons worth mentioning.Pros:- Temperature distribution across griddle seems very even. No real hot spots where food burns.- Model is light and easy to clean and moveCons:- Non-stick surface can use a little help for things like pancakes. I have to spray it or oil it lightly to keep pancakes from sticking too much.- The feet on the griddle are hard plastic and lead to the unit sliding all over the place when you try to move items on the griddle. I put rubber furniture pads on the feet to stop the sliding.- The drain hole on the griddle, which is intended for grease, actually takes out a lot of usable space. So, you can pour pancake batter on the griddle, and as it expands, will run into the drain hole. I end up not using the space anywhere within 2 inches of the hole. It would be better to just not have the hole in my opinion. So, if you use this for things like pancakes, it is annoying. Items like bacon would be fine.

Short lived
November 8, 2016
It was great, while it lasted.I used it lightly (for about 15 min when used) about 10 times before it started to have problems. Specifically, it began to lose heat despite it being properly connected. The orange light would turn off and it would cool. I initially thought I just needed to make sure the power cord was in correctly, checked it, it was fine. I would need to unplug the power and reconnect for heat to come back on. At first it would happen every 5 min, then more and more frequently. At last use, it turned off every 30 seconds making it impossible to use.I was always careful not to get water near the power entry, so I am sure it wasn't that.I hope there is a manufacturer's warranty. If there is, and the new unit works better, I'll edit my review. For now, 2 stars.

This works OK but is very light and moves around on the surface too easily. Next time I'll get a heavy duty one!
It was cool to the touch, but...

Have only used this a few times, but it seems to take FOREVER to cook my food. The instruction suggest 5-10 minutes to preheat, but after waiting 10 minutes, on the highest setting, it took me 20 minutes (after hearing, yes) just to make PANCAKES. This would take probably half the time on the stove. It took even longer to cook my sausage, and the guide suggests 325 degrees for sausage. I used 400 and they took 25 minutes. For sausage. I should have just used my stove and a pan, the only advantage of this griddle is being able to cook more food at once - but you would probably spend less time using your stovetop and making more batches of things.

I use it almost exclusively for pancakes and they are always unevenly cooked. Part golden brown part crusty white. This was the replacement for my proctor silex griddle which worked well for a long time. Wish I had stuck with that brand.
No good
April 6, 2011
No rubber feet so it slides all over the place. VERY UNEVEN and LOW heating - nowhere near the 400 degrees it says. Pancakes will NEVER get past pale. A total waste of money. There should be laws against selling this kind of crap.

Worthless. Uneven heat, poor thermostat control
Not good for the long run
November 2, 2016
The griddle performance has gone down rapidly. I used to keep the temperature at 250 in the beginning and now keeping at 400 does not cook the pancakes. They take forever and my pancake breakfast are not fun for kids anymore. The surface is fine. This is after 6 months of use, 3-4 times a week.
Wouldn't heat
May 9, 2016
I opened this on mother's day to use for pancakes and it did not cook them. It felt hot but it wasn't doing anything to the pancakes no bubbles no browning nothing. I sent in for a refund and they won't give me one so I'm not giving a good review. Next time I'll buy it in a store.

I had a griddle by Bella and it was great! But I couldn't find one at the time I was looking again so I purchased this one. I use this for grilled cheese more than anything else. This Presto griddle does NOT heat evenly and it takes FOREVER to brown the bread....even on 400!

Disappointing!!
June 19, 2015
Heat does not distribute evenly. Grease collects on the opposite end of where the grease trap is. My counter is flat, no other reason for this.
