Better than expected !!! So easy to install and use.
November 16, 2016
Let me start off by saying that I am not a professional review writer or tech savy and it has been along time since I have had a surround sound system. I must say that this Vizio product was really beyond my expectations!!! The set up is REALLY EASY !!! The Sound is AWESOME !!! I was skeptical at first as I was looking at a few other products that were more expensive as well. Before purchasing this system I did a lot of research and read a whole bunch of reviews not only on Amazon but other resources as well. Like I said I was a bit skeptical, mostly because of the price and I was looking for something that I could really enjoy. I will conclude by saying that this surround system fills my living room with awesome sound and has brought movie watching to a whole new level . I also use it to Bluetooth my music from my phone that works flawlessly and it sounds amazing. Did I mention The set up was SOOOOOO EASY !!! Set up in minutes the Bluetooth Sub and satellite speakers made this a breeze. I couldn't be happier with this product!!!Thank you Amazon and Vizio.
Great sound bar, no wires exposed!
December 8, 2015
**** Update ****Still works great ... but this unit DOES NOT support Dolby Digital Plus. When I feed a DD+ signal in, I get only buzzing sound. Going through tech support they confirmed this. Some programs (like amazon fire tv) have something called Dolby Digital Plus Auto. The Auto means if the receiver does not support the DD+, it changes the signal to just Stereo. Luckily ... this soundbar does a good job of making stereo sound like surround, but it is not 5.1.I still like this system and at under $200 bucks ... is still 5 star IMHO.******end update******Very pleased with this and got it at a good price (watch price, it fluctuates a lot).Center and L & R speakers are in the front bar. Bar fits perfect under my 52" TV in the stand (sound bars are made in different length bars, so pick the right size). The subwoofer is wireless (but does plug into wall outlet) and the Rear R & L speakers plug into the subwoofer only (no extra power needed). This is great as you get no wires going from TV to back speakers.I have the Sub behind the couch and the Rear L & R on either side of the couch. So there are zero wires exposed anywhere!Sound is good. Bass is pretty decent, but not room shaking.I use this a lot for playing music from my phone, bluetooth connection works great.Remote is good, it has display to show you what input you are on and settings you are changing.Front speaker has a series of small circular lights which tell status, settings as well as volume level.I highly recommend this when it is reasonably priced.

For the money the performance is excellent. It should be noted that most TV's down convert or dumb down their audio signal coming from their optical digital output to 2.1 so in those cases the soundbar will receive only 2.1 channel audio. My Sony KLD52V5100 only puts out 2.1 audio from the optical output. Having said that the soundbar creates a faux 5.1 surround sound and unless one is a true audiophile they won't be able to tell the difference. The bass from the subwoofer is simply great. You can adust the center speaker level, bass and treble levels, subwoofer level, surround levels(rear speakers) and even surround balance on the rear speakers should your sitting location be not centered. The true volume option works great also if used. To get a TRUE 5.1 surround channel effect and if your TV only puts out 2.1 as mentioned earlier then simply use the audio sources optical digital out and connect it directly to the sound bar to achieve true 5.1. I did this by using my satellite receivers optical digital out which puts out true 5.1 directly to the optical digital input on the soundbar. TRUE Dolby, DTS 5.1 surround sound. For the money its a great buy and so simple to set up and adjust to ones on personal likes. The sound bar will show the Dolby or DTS logo briefly to indicate if the source to the soundbar is Dolby or DTS. Only the optical input or coaxial digital input on the soundbar will give you Dolby or DTS.
The system was extremely easy to hook up and get operational
January 2, 2015
I wanted to replace an aging sound system, simplify things and clean up the wire clutter on my entertainment center. After reading various reviews of the Vizio S4251w-B4 Soundbar and it's wireless subwoofer and rear surrounds, I went ahead and ordered it on Black Friday weekend through Amazon.First the positives...1. The system was extremely easy to hook up and get operational. Making sound adjustments are easy using the included remote (I still need to tweak the system to my ear's liking).2. It's 5.1 channel surround sound is immersive and provides an enjoyable experience for movie watching. Last night, we were watching a movie and I thought someone was knocking on our rear door to the patio. I suddenly realized it was the movie soundtrack coming through the rear surrounds! Very realistic. Generally, the sound is "clean" and the surround effects usually don't interfere with voices from the center channel. My living room is large and the sound bar does a nice job of filling the room.3. The subwoofer is wireless and I can place it where I want it. Be aware the rear surround speakers do connect by cables to the subwoofer so the rear surrounds are not totally wireless.4. The rear surrounds, although small, do a great job of filling in the sound field when called upon by the system. I placed them in a window sill behind our seating we use while watching a movie; maybe later on I'll place them on stands. I was able to run the rear surround speaker wiring from the subwoofer to the speakers in a manner to where they were easily hidden.5. Streaming Netflix features with 5.1 channel surround sounds great through the system. I had to upgrade my blu ray player since my old player only had hdmi out; my HDTV doesn't pass through 5.1 channel surround sound. I purchased a Samsung blu ray player with digital audio coaxial output and hooked it's sound output directly to the sound bar. I also hooked up my DirecTV hd receiver to the sound bar via digital optical cable so I can get 5.1 channel surround sound on any programming that broadcasts in that format.6. Blu ray disks sound great! Now for a few minor negatives:1. I wish the included remote would have backlighting. It's difficult to see in the dark if you want to make an adjustment on the fly.2. I would like to get just a little more center channel output for voices; I'm confident that will come as I make very small adjustments to the sound bar's settings.3. The box was delivered and was fairly beat up to the point where I took pictures in case the sound bar was damaged during shipping. Amazon slapped shipping labels directly on the Vizio product carton and didn't put the carton inside a shipping box. Very disappointing.Overall, I am extremely pleased with this "budget" sound bar and feel it's performance far exceeds the price I paid for it. I will use this system for movies and TV viewing so I can't give a fair review on how it would handle music from a cd or IPod, IPad or other portable device.
Best bang - or boom rather - for your buck!
November 10, 2014
I read tons of reviews on sound systems in my price range and this one came out on top, so I decided to take the plunge. Boy am I glad I did. I built a few stereo systems in my younger days, ones that would be considered pretty good, and this one is GOOD. It has great clarity at low levels, which is important for me because my girlfriend and I live together and are on opposite schedules (she works nights), so low levels are necessary as to not disturb anyone sleeping. This thing is also fantastic at louder volumes, and our neighbors HAVE complained (yea we live in an apartment, but the walls aren't paper thin - I never hear our neighbors unless the windows are open, and they have two children in elementary). If you'd like to read a good review with lots of technical jargon and actual comparisons, see: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-budget-soundbar/ for more.
Easy to use, high-quality sound
October 30, 2014
Purchased the Vizio4251w-B4 to replace a Toshiba SBX1250 sound bar that I was VERY unhappy with. I am very pleased with the performance os the Vizio and the $300-ish Amazon price tag is definitely worth it for the powerful, easy to use audio improvement over my TV's internal speakers. This system is not for audiophiles but for folks that want better (not world class) sound from their television without the fuss of a full-blown 'home theatre system.'Why did I buy a second sound bar inside a year? Because the remote on the Toshiba was absolutely worthless and there was no way to use a programmable, universal remote to make the Toshiba soundbar respond from across the room. Getting up off the sofa to physically press the buttons on the top of the sound bar was frustrating - so a good remote was definitely something I was looking for.Several reviews praised this Vizio model as a fix for all the things that plague most sound bar systems - and those reviews were spot on! The sound from the Vizio is great and it took me very little time to set up. There are a couple of set-up/installation niggling issues (most of which could be cleared up with a better owners manual) but I am very pleased with the performance and ease of use for the Vizio.Program the sound bar to read the volume up/down/mute commands from your TV/Satellite/Cable remote and you will probably never need the Vizio's (excellent) remote again after the first hour. Thumbs up!MINOR ISSUES1. I gather that my TV (a Samsung) doesn't push a Dolby 5.1 signal through the TV - which is fine. That is not the fault of this Vizio sound bar, but the instructions about "looking to see if the 5.1 light flashes on start up" didn't help me. I have no idea where on the soundbar that light is - since it isn't detailed anywhere in the manual. Not a big deal, since I've read the specs on my TV and it isn't capable of sending the 5.1 signal anyway.2. The two, wired satellite speakers that feed off the woofer are color coordinated - one blue and one grey. There is a blue or grey surround on the input jack on the back of each speaker, on the outputs from the subwoofer and similar colored rings on both ends of the cables - one blue and one grey. Sounds perfect, right? But, nowhere could I find which color was Left and which was Right. Maybe I am dim, but I didn't see the info in the manual/specs - either in the paper version in the box or the online PDF I downloaded. I had to power up the system up and then go into the settings (nice display on the Vizio remote is super-useful here) and shift the surround balance all the way left and then all the way right - and that is how I learned that the blue speaker should be positioned near my left ear as I sit on the sofa. Grey goes to the right. Why not include that in the manual?

Finally Can Use Surround Sound
May 6, 2017
These can be constructed very easily, they're just time-consuming. No issues there, just takes about 40 minutes to put everything together and secure your speakers into them. I have a Vizio sound bar and my speakers didn't fit on the base to be screwed in/secured, but this does come with double faced tape that you can apply to the speaker base to secure them into place. That tape works exceedingly well too as my speakers are going nowhere anytime soon. You can also easily loop the speaker wire through the pole and then through the L-Shaped top piece. So even though I couldn't screw in my Vizio speakers to this stand, the tape still works and I now have fantastic surround sound for my room. Much better than having surround sound speakers in the corners of your couch!
Good Quality and nice looking.
April 13, 2017
I gave these stands 5 stars because they are nice quality heavy stands. No speaker stand can fit every speaker made. I have the VIZIO SB3851-C0 38-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar. I used the smaller l brackets which need to be slightly modified. As others have mentioned, you need to bend the brackets to allow for the RCA plug that connects the speaker. To accomplish this, I loosely assembled speaker stand with bracket and placed the speaker on stand. Then marked where the plug would go. At this time also mark the ends of the bracket that will stick out of the front under speaker. I used tape to mark these. I placed the handle of a pliers in that spot then placed a vice grip on the end closest to where screw will go so that it would not spread. Took another vice grip and placed on the other end which made my rounded opening for the plug. I used a bolt cutter to cut off excess bracket ends. You could also use a hacksaw. The metal is fairly easy to bend and cut. Use the screws that come with Vizio to mount speaker. Takes a little effort but the result is very good.
Works Well With Vizio SB3851x-C4 38-inch 5.1 Soundbar Satellite Speakers, and Quick Install!!
April 11, 2017
O.k., I just ordered these stands and set satellite speakers from a Vizio SB3851x-C4 38-inch 5.1 Soundbar system on them. I read reviews about these stands, with folks stating that they had to buy screws, bend the brackets, and had trouble inserting the speaker wire through the tube. I had none of these issues. I instead decided to set this up, in a simplistic/quick manner.1. I screwed the mounting base onto the stand.2. I bent a coat hanger, making it straight. I used painters tape (non-sticky, unlike duck tape, or scotch tape). I then taped the cable for the speak to the very end of the coat hanger (nose to nose), tape it up, and slowly pulled the cable through the tube. No issues, done quickly.3. I used the double side pads, cutting four pieces, which I placed on each of the four sides of the mounting base, which I had screwed onto base stand. The speakers were 'stuck' to the post base, with on pad showing, and were well anchored. I was happy. I put all of the screws/brackets, back into the bag, and will save them.I had NO issue in using the double-sided, sticky pads. You cannot see them, when the speaker is stuck on the mounting pad. The speaker sits there, anchored, and really will not come off if you move the stand in a reasonable manner, or do not plow into it (which you should not be doing anyway). It really does not matter for me anyway, as my speakers are placed where they could not get run into. I was done with mounting the speakers in least about 5-7 minutes, with no headaches.
Solid purchase, with some ingenuity
December 15, 2016
Very happy! The stands themselves are heavy and sturdy. I did a lot of research on all of the other options on Amazon before committing to purchasing these because my Harman Kardon HK16 speakers are tall and come with a somewhat proprietary base for mounting to the wall. Mounting to a screw based stand would not necessarily work in this case because the bottom is not perfectly flat and there is not connection on the back of the speaker since the wall mount attaches to the bottom. However, the included tall mounting bracket that comes with the stands worked perfectly in combination with the double side tape and with a simple piece of black yarn to secure. If you have the taller Harman speakers, I would recommend these stands. Yes, my solution is not "pro," but I'm certainly content versus spending $100+ on the actual HK speaker stands.I thought about using a zip tie to secure the speaker to the bracket, but the yarn solution works just as well and is less noticeable on the all black speaker front.
Works great with Monoprice Premium 5.1 CH
November 3, 2015
Found the perfect surround sound speakers for me: Monoprice 10565. However, it was a bit of a headache finding the right speaker stands since monoprice very own speaker stands didn't seem to be a good match. Was so happy when i stumbled upon this pair of stands. Thanks to all the reviewers that posted photos showing that it works with the monoprice speakers.I have pasted additional images showing that it works with pretty decent size speaker wires as well. I used flat speaker wire to route underneath my rug in the living room. I was worried the wire wouldn't fit through the speaker stands but it worked great. Excellent cable management! Also I was able to use pins as my termination points for my wires with no issues. I did use electric tape to ensure the bracket isn't pushing too much against the pins. However, if you are not using speaker pins the bracket shouldn't be an issue at all.Love these stands, the cable management, and look of them.
Perfect stands for small satellite/surround speakers, a breeze to get set up.
February 11, 2014
Vizio Sound Bar owners : this is what you want. These stands arrived not even 24 hours after ordered them. The Vizio sound bar surround speakers work just fine (see product images I will upload). The cast iron construction seems pretty stable, especially for the lightweight Vizio speakers. I'd not put speakers weighing more than a couple of pounds on them, though, especially if you extend the tubes all the way up.It was a breeze to thread the speaker wire DOWN the tube and out from the base, and then attach the top mounting bar and bracket. Pry open the mounting wire bars a little bit, fit the speaker connector through, and attach speaker to wire bracket with included washer. 10 minutes, tops.I have no reason to doubt that these stands will work just fine with almost any other brand of small, lightweight surround or bookshelf speakers. $40 well spent.

Solid steel and good idea.
November 28, 2016
Good solid steel construction. They will bend if you twist it, but it works fine for what it needs to do. Comes with a big bag of screws, spacers and washers of various sizes to let you find the ones that will fit your TV. (NOTE: Make sure you use the right length. If you try and put too long a screw into the holes on the back of the TV, depending on the design of the TV itself, you may damage something. I had two different sets of bolts that would fit the holes, but one was twice as long. I did not hurt the TV, but think you could have...)My one suggestion/complaint about it is that when it's above the TV, it is sort of balanced on one screw on either side, and could use something like a couple of rubber friction washers or ridged plastic washers to help keep it in place. The plastic washers work ok, but if anything touches the sound bar it tilts to one side or the other. Doesn't affect the function of it, just looks bad.You will need screws to fit your soundbar. My soundbar had them included along with keyhole plates to hang on a wall, but none of the screws included would fit. Verify you have the right hardware before starting or you'll have the usual mid-job cussathon. One person can attach this to the back of a TV, but it would be easier with two, since with one hand you hold the soundbar up, one hand you hold the bracket in place, one hand you put in the screw and tighten it and your tail is swishing the flies and there you are.I used one of the round holes at the top to mount the bar, and the middle slots to attach to the TV to allow it to be leveled above it. As my TV is sitting on a shelf in the middle of the room, below wasn't an option. It doesn't sit flush with the front of the TV, but that doesn't really matter and will probably depend on your specific soundbar and TV. (Mine is a small soundbar and relatively thick LCD tv.)
Mounted Vizio SB3820-C6 to a Vizio M55-C2 TV
May 10, 2016
Everything went smoothly. Shipping was fast and the product worked perfectly. I mounted a Vizio SB3820-C6 sound bar above a Vizio M55-C2 TV using these brackets. I also have the TV mounted to the wall using a Kanto PDX650 wall mount. Both mounts work well together. The only hardware I needed from the sound bar mount was a spacer to place on the bottom two screws of the TV wall mount to compensate for the sound bar mount that used the top two screws on the TV mount.
Makes Life a Little Easier
November 1, 2015
I am very pleased with this product. I have a wall mounted Sony 50" TV, and wanted to install the Sony HT-CT370 Sound Bar at the bottom of the TV for a clean look and central sound. I have the AC plugs located high on the wall behind the TV and all cables run inside of the wall. But, I needed a way to "hang" the Sound Bar from the bottom of the TV without putting holes into my wall. I ordered this product along with the Sound Bar because the other reviews were good and positive about the versatility of this bracket. I was not disappointed. Made out of steal with plenty of holes and curves to align with the holes on the rear of the TV and on the Sound Bar, I installed it in about 20 minutes with the help of a partner holding the Sound Bar up in place while I aligned the screw holes. What I did was to unscrew the bottom two holes from the TV wall bracket and the TV, then I slipped in the Sewell Sound Bar bracket in-between, placing the wall mount bracket on top and re-tightened the the two bottom screw holes. Then I adjusted the Sewell to align with the Sound Bar at the bottom and tightened everything up. Nice product and I am so glad I ordered it with the sound Bar. This made life a little easier for me.
Excellent bracket.
July 10, 2015
This is exactly what I needed. It fits on the existing mounting holes and bracket on the rear of my Sony plasma TV and holds my Vizio sound bar flush to the bottom of the TV. It is the same width as the TV and looks as if the sound bar is part of the TV. I use a full motion bracket and this does not interfere in any way with movement of the bracket and TV. Excellent product and reasonable price. Very happy.
Third set purchased
September 14, 2013
I have three TVs; all have mediocre sound from mediocre speakers on the back. Two are on tilt/swivel mounts that extend out from the wall. I use a sound bar with each for improved sound. The brackets are a great concept. They let the sound bars tilt and swivel with the TV, and provide a clean installation look. The brackets fit all three different model TVs and all three different model sound bars. They take a little bit of care and effort for installation, but it's worth it. I recommend getting a small pack of adhesive cable clips; those let me run the cables invisibly down the back of the bracket. The sound bars sway just a bit when the TVs are moved, but they're secure and the slight momentary sway is not a problem. Inexpensive and effective!
Works just fine for what I wanted
August 9, 2013
These brackets hold my samsung sound bar no problem. My sound bar came with it's own wall mount bracket and I needed to buy some small bolts, nuts and lock washers but not because of the brackets. Great item for the price. I am using a Cheeta full motion mount to mount the TV to the wall and these brackets to hold the sound bar. I also posted some customer images.

I'm pretty savvy when it comes to setting up electronics
December 12, 2016
I bought this sound system a year ago, November 2015, and now I'm in a position to buy an inexpensive home theater system again. In 2015, it cost me $170 on a Black Friday deal. Here are my thoughts after an enthusiastic 12mos of use.I'm pretty savvy when it comes to setting up electronics, but I'll have to admit, the setup was a little tough for me. I don't blame Vizio, but it takes some troubleshooting to decide which cables and how to connect. They provided an ample selection of cables and they all worked just fine. The subwoofer and satellite speakers are easy to set up. You can mount the speakers to the wall, but mine are resting on shelves and connected straight to the subwoofer. This next time around, i'm going to buy elevated speaker stands. In action, the volume is easy to adjust and the inputs are simple to switch. It's great for listening to much from my phone or for video games or the TV. We've got a 1500sqft, 3BR home and the total volume is more than adequate to enjoy a cinema experience for movies. It might be a shade bass heavy, but that's how I would change the settings anyway. The remote control is horrible though. the LCD screen is tiny. There is no backlight, so you can't read it in the dark (if you need to adjust settings, input options or sound presets. It is nice that the volume level can be seen with discrete LEDs on the sound bar. Occasionally it's difficult to get the Bluetooth to pair with my phone, but I can't be certain if there are too many BT devices in the house conflicting, so I'm hesitant to blame the design on Vizio. However, here I am, rating this system at 4-stars and preparing to purchase again. Great blend of performance and value for the price.
Very nice sound bar

VIZIO S4251w-B4 42-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer & Satellite Speakers (2013 Model)This setup sounds awesome. I got a great deal on this cause it was last years model when I bought it. The sound and volume capability are fantastic. I still get a kick out of it when a car door shuts and I automatically look toward the window, very realistic sound. I would give it five stars but I had a problem with the optical cable and can't get it to seat. That would have been alright, I thought I could just buy another one, but I can't find a replacement. The girl at Vizio thought I was some kind of idiot because it wouldn't sit properly. It's supposed to click when its seated and it won't click. I had it set up before but I had to disassemble and move it. I might try calling or chatting with Vizio again cause the girl kept to her troubleshooting matrix and didn't seem to have much practical knowledge of sound bars I have it hooked up with an audio cable but the optical would be better. Still sounds fantastic though.
Exellent surround sound system, good price!
January 5, 2016
I want a surround sound system in my living room but I didn't want to run any wires so I bought this 42" Vizio wireless sound bar and I didn't regret.Of course, it can't be compared to my Denon receiver surround sound system that I have setup in the theater room but this sound bar produces excellent surround sound for an unconventional quick setup surround sound system. The treble and bass are clear and pretty powerful for a little subwoofer, especially wireless. Very easy to setup, probably 10 minutes most. The reason I'm rating it 4 stars is because I believe this model was manufactured in 2012 or 2013 but there's no HDMI input which is ridiculous IMO. I think Vizio has included the HDMI port in the 2015 version.
Overall review with a focus of the rear satellite speakers
December 9, 2015
I give the bar 5 stars as it sounds amazing. I give the sub 4 stars because every once and a while a specific note will distort or rattle at medium to high volume levels.NOW let's get to the rear speakers which I give 4 stars: When I first set the system up I was impressed with the sound. But when I put my ear close to the rears I noticed that they sounded different. Before I knew better I would describe the sound as broken, bad, low quality, underwater, choppy, muddy, and with muffled voices. I searched reviews and questions here and several people have commented the same, so I hope this review can help align peoples expectations of what the rears are supposed to sound like. Before I knew any better I thought they would sound the same as the fronts. But after research and getting a second opinion from my dad ,who is musical and knows better, I've discovered that the reason the rear speakers sound like they do is because they are (in true surround sound fashion) only playing ambient background sound. The voices sound quieter and muffled than the rest because it is trying to exclude them; you only want to hear voices coming from the front to create a theater effect. The rears are literally picking and choosing a few sounds from the rest. All together the system sounds great once balanced to the room they are in Personally I've concluded that the rears are fine and that surround sound is more for movies and not for listening to music. So when listening the music I turn off the rears. I gave the rears 4 stars because they seam a little cheap and they are playing through Bluetooth connection (not the best). My dad thinks these ones are a slightly on the "gimmick" side but you'd have too spend way more for a system with perfect rear speakers. I hope this helps some of you who had the same initial reaction to the rears as me. Overall and altogether it is hard to tell the deficiencies: 4 out of 5 stars
Good system at a great price
March 7, 2015
Compared to older 5.1 systems that required a lot of speaker wiring, this is quick and easy to deploy. The wireless sub & rear speakers work great and linked up with the system controls immediately upon plugging it in. Both my cable system box and my Xbox One are able to control the unit as well. Bluetooth works well and is able to connect to all my devices. Sound quality is good.Complaints are minor, but will affect some peoples' decision. Here they are.(1) The remote control has a small display that is not back-lit. In any dimly lit or dark situation, it's difficult to read the display.(2) Bluetooth can only pair with one device. To use it with my iPod or tablet, I have to re-pair the Bluetooth option to a different device. The remote should have had a "quick pair" button on it, instead of scrolling through the dozen-plus options on the hard-to-read remote screen every single time Bluetooth pairing to various devices is desired.(3) The volume LEDs on the front of the control bar are so small, they're a difficult to see.(4) The volume control increments up & down too quickly. With only one or two clicks of the remote to increase sound, volume increases dramatically. If you have a house with small children or light sleepers, it's hard to keep the sound from increasing from very soft to too loud during quieter hours of the day.(5) Sound quality falls off with noticeable distortion above 80% volume. Since I almost never play it that loud, this is negligible to me.Fix that handful of problems, and this is easily a five-star product.

***Update - 7/13/2017*** 3 years and counting...System is still going strong. No issues, especially while using the optical port for sound. For electronics, this was one of the best purchases I ever made. Because this one has worked so flawlessly, I ended up getting another set (newer model) for another TV. If you can find a set, pull the trigger, you won't regret it.Caveat: Only two days in after adjusting to listening preferences so these are FIRST impressions. I will update review and/or score after a few months worth of usage. I plan on using the setup daily.Pros: Good sound for $250. I've spent quite a few dollars on the traditional man cave setup so the $ spent here for the bedroom for a sound bar, two satellites, and a sub was nice. The additional surround sound from the two satellites is a nice compliment to the sound bar. You can really notice it when you turn the surround speakers 'down' or off altogether. Inclusion of every cable that could possibly be useful or helpful. Bluetooth has already proven useful...not only for sub but for streaming music from phone.Cons: Digital interface on remote functional but no remote back lighting is annoying - especially with lights off. Don't expect to get AVR-like digital read-outs from remote; minimalistic is the word of the day. Satellite speakers MUST plug into the sub. Really wish they had been bluetooth capable like the sub, which would have opened up more placement opportunities. As it stands, if you have a larger master bedroom, being beholden to speaker wires may be a hindrance.I like it so far. Worlds better than the TV speakers! Good lows and clear mids and highs. Have only used it for satellite programming so far. Will run it through the paces with bluray, Plex, and Roku in the coming days and weeks.

No nuts included
February 6, 2017
Like everyone says, they're good for the money. I had some old JBL Flix 1 surround speakers and pulled them out of the closet and started to hook them up. But they're old so have one of those openings that hang on a screw head projecting out of the wall (into an anchor in the wall) but not something to screw into the speaker like more modern speakers have. I thought nothing of it because there were screws that would work like that included, but it turns out there are no nuts to hold the screw in the wire loop. I have the option of screwing the bottom of the speaker onto the stand, but I'd really rather not screw things into the speaker. Instead I'll have to head to Home Despot to get a screw and nut that will work. I think it's awfully odd to leave out two nuts that would have fixed this.
Worked well after a minor mod
October 14, 2016
I purchased these stands for my Vizio surround sound speakers because they claim to be universal. Unfortunately, these stands were not a perfect fit for my Vizio speakers because the Vizio speakers have lines coming from the back and this is where the brackets attach. It was also a bit of a pain treading the cables through the poles because of how large the aux plug was, nothing a little vigorous shaking couldn't fix.I read reviews of people bending the brackets to allow for the cables to pass through. This just seemed like a lot of work. I had some spacers laying around so Inuse those to fill in the gap. See picture.I like how the foot of the stand slopes down towards the front. This allowed me to wedge it under the couch for stability so my daughter doesn't knock it over.Overall, great speaker stands for a great price. I took one star off because they aren't truly universal but its a very minor problem.
Compatible with VIZIO Sound Bar System (S4251w-B4) with some minor and easy modification
June 30, 2016
These speaker stands are great with my sound bar and the fit great on the stand, but I did need to do some modifications to the stand to secure them in place. I do not consider myself a "handyman" so if I can do it I think most people would be able to. Things to note:-the speaker wires do fit inside the column so there are no wires running down the stand.-I used the following supplies from Home Depot (included pictures for reference): (2) Fender Washer 3/16"x1-1/4" and (2) machine screws round head combo #6-32x3/4"-I used the taller of the two L-shaped brackets, those fit better and the bottom part of the bracket did not stick out past the speaker.-I had the bend the brackets wider so the speaker plug would fit...I did this using my hands and that worked well. I first bent them out at the top of the bracket and then bent them back in towards the bottom, to create a diamond shape.Overall the stands seem solid and I have enjoyed them so far!
Bought with VIZIO SB3851-C0 38-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers
January 16, 2016
I bought these to go with the VIZIO SB3851-C0 38-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers (2015 Model). In short - they're not perfectly compatible, but they work... with some adjustments. The satellite speakers for this Vizio system aren't as big as what the stands are able to hold, so there is a little bit of lip that sticks out beneath where the speakers sit... but this is simply an aesthetic thing and it's not so much difference that it's a huge deal. The biggest issue is that the supports that you attach to the backs of the speakers to hold them in place is not wide enough to allow room for the speaker plugs of this particular Vizio model speakers. We had to use pliers to bend the metal a little bit to make room for the speaker plugs. We wiggled one set of pliers (that were the width we needed) between the metal bars, and used another set of pliers to squeeze the top and it separated the metal tongs to just the right space to fit the plug. I would never have thought of doing it that way but my husband is better than me at math, science, physics and somehow he knew that would work. It did perfectly.I rate these four stars because the quality of the stands is good, but a little annoying that we had to make the minor adjustments. Of course, this is also based on my particular model of Vizio speakers, so your experience may differ.
Used with Vizio SB3851-C0 Soundbar 5.1 Set
November 19, 2015
Purchased for use with my 38" Vizio 5.1 Soundbar and wireless subwoofer (model# SB3851-C0) setup. Good quality speaker stands. Used the smaller mounting bar set that comes with it. Like most reviewers, I did have to bend the center out to allow the coax to pass through and had to pinch the top portion to allow for a tight backing attachment to the speaker (see attached picture). This marred up the bar, but a Sharpie cleaned it back up.One negative that I do have is that the mounting bar sticks out too much in the front for these particular speakers (see photo). It is made for a more universal setup, so I understand that it is not a perfect fit. Simple remedy will be to mark it and pull out the handy Dremel to cut them back.NOTE: Make sure you run the cable through the center of the stand before you begin assembling the base and backing for the speaker. I used a spare shoe lace to pull the cable through as the clearance is tight.
Bought these for the VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Satellite Speakers
June 14, 2014
If you research the heck out of everything like I do, there are lots of reviews that cry bloody murder about how these stands are totally incompatible with these Vizio speakers, as well as lots of reviews brashly claiming how simple it is to set these stands up with these Vizio speakers. The reality is somewhere in-between these polarized views. Here are some helpful tips for not losing your cool when setting these up:1. Open ice cold beverage of your choice. Mine tend to have alcohol in them, but not a requirement.2. Use the screws and washers that come with the Vizio speakers to affix the speakers onto the stands. The screw options that come with the stands do not fit these Vizio speakers. No need to go to a hardware store.3. Use the taller L-shaped brackets for mounting speakers to the stands.4. The trick is to use a set of pliers to bend OUT the part of the bracket "rails" near the speaker plug towards the bottom, and bend IN the bracket "rails" in the middle where you attach the screw and washer to the back of the speaker. I wish the washer was a little bigger to help ensure it was holding on to the bracket, but it will do the job transforming to your needs if you spend a few minutes going back and forth with squeezing the bracket rails inward in the middle where the screw goes and pushing the bracket rails outward towards the bottom where the speaker plug/cable goes. I added a picture with captions to the Customer Images section if you need a visual illustration: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/permalink/mo36U1PDULU63RH/B000289DC6/ref=cm_ciu_images_pl_link5. Other tip is to ever-so-slightly bend the entire L-bracket inwards (i.e., reduce the angle) to ensure a more snug sitting of the satellite speaker on to the stand. If you're paranoid about the bracket rails popping out from around the screw washer, there is thick double-sided tape included in the stand accessories to attach to the bottom of the speakers that sit on top of the stands. I didn't bother with that in case I ever wanted to mount these satellite speakers on the wall. The trick with the pliers did the job well enough for me.6. Finish ice cold beverage and you're done.Given the bit of macgyvering it took to fit the brackets onto the Vizio speakers, I reduced this to a 4-star rating. I think Atlantic should get with the program and provide some accessories for these Vizio speakers because they apparently already have a big share of the market for 3rd party speaker stands, and it would have been nice to not have to bust out my toolbox to get these to fit.Overall, these speaker stands feel very sturdy and robust, and the base appears to be sufficient enough to not topple over due to clumsily bumping into it or due to a minor shake of an earthquake (knock on wood). The height is easy to adjust and the price is right, too. There doesn't appear to be a lot of other good stand options for these Vizio satellite speakers, so these will do you just fine if you follow my tips and tricks.

Like solving a puzzle
December 19, 2016
Bought these brackets on the strength of the mostly positive reviews here. Would have given 5 stars except for the length of time required to figure out how to make the attachments. There are four elements that have to be negotiated successfully in order to get this mount to work: TV, TV mount, soundbar and the bracket. The process is almost akin to solving a puzzle and requires the user to patiently consider many possible approaches before arriving at the one that actually works. To the credit of the designers, there are more than enough places on the brackets to put attachment screws and they supply a large number of various screws plus washers and extenders. My particulars: The TV is a 47" LG TV on a Sanus swivel mount. The soundbar is a Vizio SB3821-C6. First preference was a below the TV mount, but would have gone to a top of the TV mount if necessary. Was easily able to find the correct screw pair to attach the brackets to the soundbar. The hard part is determining where to attach the other end of the bracket to the TV mount or TV. After considering many options, it became obvious that the best place was to piggyback on two existing TV mount screws. Removing those screws proved tricky because once removed the TV slipped in the mount so that the holes were no longer aligned. Nevertheless, with the help of some muscle, I was able to realign the screw holes and attach the bracket. This proved to be the perfect way to mount this soundbar which leaves a gap of about 1 inch below the TV but is necessary to be able to access the manual controls which are located on top of the soundbar. Finally, for this soundbar, the brackets block the access points at the rear of the bar for power cord and output sound cable. This was easily solved by disattaching the bar from the bracket, making the necessary wire connections and reattaching the bar. Probably could have flipped the brackets over, as well. The brackets provide a fairly solid attachment.
Be prepared in every sense. All associated gear is critical.
November 26, 2016
This bracket is both useful and somewhat flexible in terms of what products it will work with. It is best suited fortvs that are flat on the back, something that buyers seldom look at when making a TV purchase. As to sound bars, I have used it with the very flawed LG sound bar which ended up working ok and looking ok but that was due to repurposing fittings and ignoring all instructions. Avoid any attempts at making this unit work without an Extensive collection of spacers, screws, washers and other hardware. Choose a sound bar that is not too heavy and that has rear mounted screw on mounting provisions. While Sewell does not mention it, I added a second screw attaching the bracket to the rails which mount onto the TV. This keeps the soundbar from racking side to side and flopping around. This has to be done as the last step before mounting the assemble and great care must be taken to assure that the TV is not damaged when predrilling for the 1/2" #8 Truss head screw. The wall mount bracket must be substantial and should not be a shallow mount. Actually, a very strong, well made wall mount is essential and unless you are very lucky and not too concerned about cosmetics, a flat mount is out of the question.
It works well, but had to make some modifications.
June 3, 2016
Maybe it's because my TV (Sharp Aquos) is five+ years old, and my sound bar (Yamaha) is almost as old, but these didn't quite fit like I would have hoped. None of the screws that came with the brackets fit any screw holes on the back of my TV or sound bar – and they send a ton of screws, washers and sleeves in the box. I was sure that one set would work, but no. I used the screws that came with the wall hangers for my sound bar. I had never hung it on the wall, and fortunately the hangers and screws were still on the back of the unit. I removed those hangers and had four screws I could use to mount the brackets. Then I ran into another problem. On the back of my TV, there are only two screw holes that would work, and only two screw holes that worked on the sound bar. Well, I'm no engineer, but I knew unless there was somewhere to add a fifth screw (and preferably a sixth) that this was going to be an unstable situation. Also, I was short a screw to make that happen. I realized that I no longer needed the legs on my sound bar if I was going to hang it from the brackets, so I removed the legs and – two more screws. But I still had the problem of no hole to put the screw into to give the brackets the needed stability. I saw a hole near the right bracket on the back of the TV. I was able to angle the right bracket just enough to get a second screw in it. Now I had stability. From there it was just a matter of leveling the sound bar and hooking everything up. I stepped around to the front of the TV and by angling one of the brackets it had made the sound bar about 2-3 inches off center above the TV. This kind of thing doesn't bother me, but I know some folks that it would drive crazy. I let it go.Now, the most important part: It sounds WAY better. Previously, I had the sound bar sitting under the TV. In order for the TV remote to work, I had two pieces of plywood stacked under the TV stand to raise it above the sound bar. I didn't realize that by having that plywood and a Blu-Ray player, Roku box, Apple TV, cable box, etc behind and beside the sound bar, it was blocking a lot of the sound. Especially the bass.So despite all the modifying I had to do, it was worth it. It's like I have a new sound system for my TV.
Works great, had to do a little extra work to get it to fit just right.
March 28, 2016
It works and looks great!Pros:Looks like it will fit almost anythingStrong but light metalComes with an abundance for different screwsHigh QualityCons:Didn't have correct screws for my Sony Sound bar, even with all the extra ones that came with it. (Drill bit fixed that issue in about 2 second) Works great now.More of a gap than I would like difficult to get flush against TV with type of bracket this is but got the gap close in about 10-15 minutes within an 3-5mm or so doing it alone.Could of had more detailed instructions but it's not rocket surgery. If I would purchase in the future:I think I would have paid a little extra and get the type that has straight bars that each as an articulating arm (4 piece) (straight) mounting bracket vs the (2 piece) (curved)
A solid product that makes me want for nothing more.
January 2, 2016
Purchased this to mount a VIZIO SB4051-C0 40-Inch 5.1 Sound Bar on top of a Samsung Curved 55" UHD TV mounted to a wall with a Cheetah Mounts APFMSB TV Wall Mount Bracket. I thought that my curved TV would present a problem and this bracket might not work for me, but it works quite well.Took my tv off the wall and laid it on my bed to mount the sound bar. Removed the wall mount brackets and placed the soundbar brackets on first on the two top mounting holes in the back of the tv and mounted the soundbar to the end portions of the brackets. Used some spacers on the lower tv mount holes to make up for the thickness of the soundbar brackets. I should note also that with the curved tv, I was using some additional spacers already to allow clearance for all of the brackets due to the curve of the tv. All said and done, the effect is that the sound bar is sitting securely on top of the tv and looking pretty sharp. I could have hung it btw and spaced out the soundbar so as to not contact the tv, but I like and prefer it this way.In the packaging comes with a hardware bag full of screws, washers, spacers - pretty much everything you'll need to make this work. The only issue I had was that the shape of the brackets make it somewhat difficult to plug and unplug some of the connections in the rear of the soundbar. While not fully blocking access, they do hinder some. However, this is hardly a problem as I'll only ever be going back there again when I add a new component at a later date. Also, being a universal bracket, you'd expect something like this. Though I think the price is kind of high just for some brackets, they made a good product and supplied every piece of hardware I could need and more.4 Stars. A solid product that makes me want for nothing more.
However it did make the soundbar sit right underneath the TV nice and flush
August 25, 2015
These soundbar brackets barely made it on my Vizio p502ui-b1e 50 inch TV and attached the Vizio SB4051-C0 40 inch Soundbar. However it did make the soundbar sit right underneath the TV nice and flush. The brackets them selves are rated to hold up to 30+ pounds max which did a great job at holding the sound bar. However the weight of the soundbar causes the slim brackets to swicg back and forth. While this may not be an issue day to day, tilting the TV from time to time to plug in cables, one has to remember to not use the sound bar as a way to move the TV as the brackets feel like they would just bend. Overall it was a great fit and finish. Pics attached.

Good enough sound, with a few quirks.
January 8, 2016
While this is certainly better than the built in speakers on any flat panel TV, it certainly leaves something to be desired. First off, let me say that the form factor and ease of setup and use of this sound bar is great! The wireless subwoofer with satellite speakers was a smart idea. The sound quality is pretty decent, but I wouldn't call it amazing. I purchased this unit to replace a 15 year old Onkyo 5.1 system that I was too big for the room I had it in. This unit pales in comparison to that older unit in terms or sound quality. There are only two real problems with this sound bar (for me). The first one is that the difference between the volume levels is far too big. It gets loud quickly, and I have never set the volume louder than 4. For me, 3 is often too soft and 4 is often too lous, so I'm constantly switching back and forth. The second problem is that the subwoofer resets itself to max volume whenever you turn on the unit. It's a weird quirk and extremely annoying. It's easy enough to fix, but you'll have to do it nearly every time you turn the sound bar on and off. There's a few quirks as well. Every now and then, the unit will simply stop producing sound. This happens the most often when I pause my DVR for a minute or two. I've now had the sound bar for just over a month, and I am considering switching to something else. Yesterday, my other half told me they hated it (I wouldn't go that far, but have a high tolerance for fidgety things).
4.5 star sound bar, but not plug and play.
January 1, 2016
This sound bar is very good once you figure it out. As is usual for most products the instructions that come with the product hardly ever tell the whole story. There is a "quick set-up" guide, if you are lucky that will be all you need. If you have any issue I'd suggest checking their web site for support. There are lots of "secret" settings on the sound bar, on your TV, and on your cable box, that can give unexpected results, both good and bad. I tried the phone support and had to convince the person I wasn't a total idiot before I was treated to some moderately useful advice. Probably just having a bad day, but you aren't allowed to pass that attitude on to the customer. One thing I did get out of the conversation was to check their web support. That worked.
Laptop bluetooth connection problems
December 25, 2015
I'd give this a 4.5/5 if it weren't for issues connecting with my laptop. The bass is pretty overpowering even when I lower the bass setting but sound is crisp and clear. It has a really neat Night mode feature which dims the bass, perfect for apartment use during off hours. I have trouble getting it to connect with my laptops BT. Works flawlessly with my iPhone but takes fidgeting around to get it to connect with my laptop most of the time... I need to forget the device then reestablish connect and click reconnect most of the time.I've also had several instance where I thought my phone wasn't working but it has automatically connected to the bar which is turned off and is trying to push sound through that instead of the phone speaker. I just need to hit disconnectin my iPhones BT settings to fix it but it's another annoyance.
This was no "Factory Refurbished" product !!
October 31, 2015
I purchased the refurbished unit which was described as follows: " - A refurbished VIZIO sound bar is a sound bar that has been returned to the manufacturer, refurbished, tested, and certified to work as If purchased new. This includes proper packaging, labeling, and the inclusion of all necessary accessories inside the box - VIZIO refurbished items may have minor cosmetic damage.I was amazed at the unit I received, which had a packing that was clearly nothing like from the original manufacturer. Yes, there were a couple of scuffs, the worst being the separation of the soundbar front from the back at the right corner. I suspect the attachment was broken, but it did not affect the sound or functioning so I am willing to forgive and forget. There were no manuals but just a copy of one page of the manual, which described how you link the bar to the sub woofer and how to do Bluetooth pairing. Again, the instructions were on the web, so I am willing to forgive. The original speaker wires (which are 12 feet) were missing, and was substituted with two wires each 6 feet long, so the required separation of the speakers were impossible. I had two speaker wires each at $10 purchased through Amazon, which took a couple of days. The AAA batteries which they claim was provided were not, so a trip to the local drug store solved that problem. No template to attach the speakers or the soundbar, and certainly no hardware. If this was "Factory certified", shame on you Vizio; if it was not, then you misled me into this purchase. After assembly, the unit is performing as expected, and therefore the 3 star rating. I buy factory refurbished goods, because of the savings as well as the fact that I am giving a home for a product dumped by someone else. This is clearly an out-lier, I will still buy factory refurbished units in the future. I will re-post my satisfaction of the unit itself in a few days after I have had a chance to use it
GREAT sound flexible ways to connect to audio source Inconspicuous ...
July 5, 2015
I bought this about 15 months ago and have had plenty of time to suss out what the pros and cons are for me.Pro:GREAT soundflexible ways to connect to audio sourceInconspicuous appearanceCons:Not very clear instructionsSometimes have difficulty getting it to connect to sourcesThe RCA wire between the sub and the satellite speakers is TERRIBLE!Customer service leaves something to be desired. My main issue really has been the sub to satellite wires. In both wires, the metal jacket on the rca plug broke off and got lodged inside the outlet on the subwoofer. One of them came right out and I was able to gorilla glue it back onto the plug tip. The other one got lodge inside the outlet and it took (I kid you not) 6 months of different trial and error to get that thing out of there. I tried using sharp objects, pushing from below, sticky tape, and exacto knife, gorilla glue on a toothpick , you name it. Keep in mind, I had to disassemble the sub woofer a little to get the circuit board out to do all this. When I contacted Vizio for help (specifically that I needed a new subwoofer board since the chunk of metal was stuck inside mine) they referred me to three outside vendors who sell their parts. First of all, if you supply s***ty cables and they break apart, you should just give me a new board and be glad I'm not just returing the whole shebang. Secondly, if you're going to be a douche about it and just expect me to pay for the parts myself, at least refer me to a vendor who actually sells the part that I told you I needed - none of the sites sell the subwoofer board. So much for that.Eventually, by some act of God, I got the second metal tip out and when I tried to gorilla glue that one back on , the plastic tip broke off in my hand. So now I at least have a working subwoofer board but will have to buy new RCA cables. I certainly won't buy the OEM ones but will get some better quality ones off Amazon. It's too bad that they dropped the ball on this, because the sound (when I can actually use it) IS really good.
Crappy Bluetooth, forgets settings
January 5, 2015
It's a pain to connect via Bluetooth to this sound bar. I've tried from my MacBook, my Nexus phone, and my iPad. It always takes multiple attempts to actually connect to the soundbar, even when I'm right next to it. When it finally does connect, the sound will drop periodically while listening to music. It gets flaky and I often just opt to listen to music on my crappy iPad speakers because those at least stream the music without stutters or lag. This soundbar is also not very intelligent. Every time you turn it on, you have to change the subwoofer settings and then change them back to what they were, because when it first starts, the subwoofer is at max. We always turn the subwoofer to its lowest setting because we live in an apartment. When we turn the soundbar on, the setting shows that it's at the lowest setting, but the bass from the subwoofer is ridiculous. When you turn the subwoofer setting up via the remote then turn it back down to the minimum, the bass gets noticeably lower. I wish the device wouldn't lie to me and say it's on the minimum setting when it clearly is not.Otherwise, the sound is fine and the soundbar works okay.

Nice stands but they don't work well with Vizio satellite speakers
April 24, 2017
Quality metal stands but they do not work with my Vizio satellite speakers without substantial modifications( I hear this is common with Vizio). If your speaker has an RCA with a 90 degree connector, you cannot run the wire through the stand. I had to bend the bracket that secures the speaker so the RCA could seat. I also had to get new hardware since the screws that came with the speakers were too short and the stands did not supply this hardware. All in all I should have kept looking for stands that were compatible with my Vizio Smartcast wi-fi Sound Bar System (38", 5.1) mainly due to the wire not fitting through the stand.
I am going to buy a better set for my Sonos
November 26, 2016
These are advertised as being compatible with the Sonos Play-1. If by compatible they mean that the Sonos has a 1/4-20 threaded receptacle in the back and these come with 1/4-20 screws, then yes they are compatible. However, the screws are to long. They are 3/4 of an inch in length. This means that the speaker does not snug tightly to the stand. Also, the hollow stem is to narrow to accommodate the head on the songs power cord. The stand appears to be stable. I got what I paid for and I'll keep them, but I will probably end up using them for secondary speakers. I am going to buy a better set for my Sonos.
Not the best, but they work with the HKTS-15 with additional hardware.
May 8, 2016
I ordered these for a Harman Kardon HKTS-15 5.1 system that I ordered off of a clearance deal for the kids' entertainment room in the basement. I was going for functional but cheap and that's pretty much what these are. Why do I only give them 3 stars then?1) They aren't incredibly high. It works fine for the small HKTS-15 speakers that I have and I'm not going for perfect speaker placement but if I had larger speakers that I wanted to lift higher, these aren't the stands for you.2) It's actually a good thing they aren't taller. The base isn't as stable as you would want for a heavier set. Again, that's not what these stands are designed for. If you are reading this review I just didn't want to give you and delusions that they were something that they are not.3) The mounting of the speakers is a bit convoluted for the HKTS-15's. I ended up buying additional speaker mounting bolts.screws. For the record the size is 1/4 inch by 20. The speakers come with 3/4 inch and 1 inch options. Because of the way you have to bottom mount the speakers through the little optional two pole L piece you'll have to buy additional bolts. 2" bolts worked for the HKTS-15's but you might be able to get away with 1.5 inch long bolts if you have a bottom mount flush mount speaker. But my recommendation if you own a HKTS set, or any other Hardon Kardon set that has a similar bottom mounting setup, and you purchase these stands (You'll need 4 total so you'll have to buy two sets) is to buy four (4) 1/4 inch x 20 bolts that are 2 inches long to securely mount the speakers to the stands. So do the stands function with the HKTS-15 speakers? Yes. Are they the most robust? No. Do they require additional hardware? Yes, I would recommend it. Now the extra bolts go for about $6 here on Amazon - so it isn't all that much. The stands do work for what I bought them for. They just aren't the best ever in my opinion. Of course, YMMV.
NOT for VIZIO satellite speakers
October 23, 2015
Just got these stands for our Vizio 5.1 surround sound system. They DO NOT work well for these speakers. They do not come with the right size screws for the satellite speakers, and the screws that come with the Vizio are not long enough to fit the bracket that comes with the stands. You will have to use the provided two-sided tape to secure these speakers to the stands. Also the input jacks on the Visio speaker wires BARELY fit through the stand tubes. Better have some string handy to fish them through, and once you do that and attach the speakers your committed unless you pull the tape and start over. Well built and sturdy but not ideal for VIZIO
I do not recommend these stands in connection with the Vizio S3851w-D4 sounder surround system
November 20, 2014
These speaker stands are not that great for the system I purchased. They are well made, but are really meant for satellite speakers that have a 2 wire plug in system. If your speakers have the single plug in the middle as the Vizio S3851w-D4 satellite speakers do, then you have to pull the rear mounting L-bracket apart (spread apart) to squeeze the plug in the middle of it (NOT IDEAL).I kept these speaker stands because they were so cheap in price that it wasn't worth sending them back. I would look to the owner manuals for connections on the back of speaker and how the speakers actually mount to the bracket on these stands before purchasing. I failed to do that so its my fault for taking the "frequently bought together" label as recommended together.I do not recommend these stands in connection with the Vizio S3851w-D4 sounder surround system.
Wire Bracket is Too Short

The product is well made, but they skimped on the wire bracket (C) height. I have a set of Infinity Speakers and these stands are not suited for them unless you wish to screw holes in the bottom of the speakers or use the double-backed tape. It is unfortunate that the idiots that designed the wire bracket (C) did not have enough brains to increase the height to at least 6". It is only 4" and will not work if your screw hole is higher than that The only way that these included wire brackets (C) will work is if you turn the speakers upside down and use a spacer, but who wants their speakers upside down anyway. I am going to have to make my own bracket or try to find a substitute in order to use the stands.

Works for me but barely
June 22, 2016
I bought this to attach my VIZIO SB3821-C6 38-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer (2015 Model) soundbar to the top of my VIZIO E32-C1 32-Inch 1080p Smart LED TV (2015 Model) monitor. The bottom line is that it works but barely. Only by attaching the soundbar to the very last hole in the bracket and then monitor's top most mounting hole to the very last hole in the other end of the bracket did I get it to work for me. The result is that the soundbar is now mounted to and rests on the top of the monitor and it feels stable enough but I don't have the best feeling about how this will hold up over time. Knowing what I know now and if I had to do this again I wouldn't have bought this bracket for this particular combination of soundbar and monitor.
Well made, but Universal..not for me.
February 4, 2016
First of all, I want to be clear that the only reason this is a 3 star review, is that it did not fit my application. The product does seem to be made well enough and comes with a variety of hardware (screws/spacers/washers). I'm aware that "Universal" isn't a guarantee it will work, however I hoped this may get to someone and save them the hassle of returning it.I have a Panasonic 58" S1 Series Plasma TV, the VESA mounts on the back are quite low on the set (Top hole, is about at the mid point) , and because of that it did not reach high enough to be used in my case. I planned to top mount, since this unit sits on it's base on a stand. (Not that it matters, but with a Vizio 54" 5.1 Soundbar setup). I am in the process of looking for a larger mount, and/or fabricating one from some aluminum angle bar.
its ok, but.
March 20, 2015
images are deceptive, on a 49 inch tv with 200x200 vesa mount, its impossible to align them with BOTH the top and bottom holes and have the brackets over/under the tv for the speaker, you can only use 1 set of bolt holes, additionally the instructions show for a center channel speaker to turn them with the curve "in" if you do this they touch, theres no way around it. if you put them the other way, your tv ends up looking like a demon with a cyborg eye ball.my major issue is they only have 2 black screws and nuts for the "key hole" mounted speakers, the problem? there to fat! there about two MM's to wide on the threaded shaft of the bolts for the key holes on my speakers (Onkyo HT-S3500) there are a few other bolts and one set fits, but, no nuts! they need to shave those key hole bolts a bit more or include nuts for the smaller bolts.and, the instructions is just a sheet with a few pictures, its up to you to figure it out. word to the wise? read the manual for your tv to figure out what size bolt to use. it would be a nightmare if you use the wrong size and it cracked your screen, the long bolts that came in the pack would have done that to my tv at least, i checked the manual for mine and found the right size in the pack using a ruler, there metric bolts so when they say "M6x14" they literally mean the threaded part is 6MM's diameter and 14MM's long, makes it easy to figure out which bolt is which.
With a little ingenuity, can result in a perfect installation
December 17, 2014
So the idea here is relatively simply, add a flat bracket to the back of the TV, just under the wall mounting screws/bolts.Installation was actually relatively straight-forward, except for one aspect. The design does not take into account trying to make the front of your sound bar flush with the front of the TV when installation is complete. Monkeying around with this took me a little over an hour to solve. Standard installation without this goal would probably be 15 minutes or so.My suggestion to the manufacturer is to provide a screw and a rubber tipped nut that can be placed in the lower part of the bracket, just at the bottom of the TV. It can fit in the existing slots, and would allow you to provide a small amount of pressure to the solid part of the back of the TV near the bottom edge to push the bracket backwards, allowing for the front bar to be flush with the TV. The screw would allow you to tweak the setback to be just perfect. This is what I mocked up in a cruder way, but the result was perfect.
Brackets were unfortunately *not* mirror images of each other -- there is a "handedness" to them.
November 20, 2014
I needed universal brackets to hold a center speaker (Energy Take 5) atop my 55" LCD TV. These looked like a good fit because the shape seemed to allow more options for a closer fit (since I wasn't mounting a wide soundbar), and they were offered at a lower price compared to other options. These brackets worked "ok." The biggest disappointment was that the two brackets are shaped in an odd way: They are both very slightly curved outward, but in the same direction when you lay the brackets on top of each other. So, when you flip one bracket over (so they mirror each other, and the two "ears" point at each other, as you would to mount a speaker), they end up *not laying flush against the TV* in the same way. It's as if I received two "left handed" brackets. This was extremely annoying: What it meant was that one bracket was somewhat further away from my speaker (by more than a quarter of an inch), when the other was laying flush against the speaker. Frustrated, I ended up using the gap between the brackets to actually overlap them and mount my speaker with just one screw that passed through both brackets. (That is, I had the ends of both ears actually on top of each other). If I was trying to mount an actual soundbar, I'd find this "handedness" in the brackets very frustrating and would probably end up with a somewhat wonky, uneven mounting job. Other than that, the overall shape does allow for a lot of options and positioning -- though you could probably use an extra set of hands to hold your speaker while you slide the brackets around to find the right mount points.
They work... with a lot of tinkering
March 7, 2014
These were a lot bigger than I expected. Not a bad thing, they are just pretty big. These eventually worked and did the job, but not without a lot of thinking and tinkering.I couldn't place them as directed due to the power cord placement on my 2014 Samsung LCD. The power cord placement would not let the bracket align with the mount hole on the TV. I had to place both of them upside down and flared inward. While the left one was able to aligned to the mount hole, no matter what how I rotated it, the right one would not align. I end up pinching the bracket in between the TV and the wall mount and then zip tying it in place for added support. It worked and it looks normal, but it took a lot of trial and error. There should be a better configuration and shape pattern for these brackets to be truly universal.

Remote breaks. No other way to work speakers
December 14, 2016
I bought two of these, one as a gift and one for myself. This was a year and a half passed. Speakers sound good still, but the remote in one is useless. The LED screen went out (by the way, the remote is a pain anyway. Hard to see as is not backlit). There is NO other way to adjust these speakers or change the input of the remote goes out. So far I have tried to order a replacement remote once... and the replacement had the same issue. I would avoid these speakers .
Be Weary of buying Used products from Amazon!
March 31, 2016
I received the sound bar, sub and satellite speakers about 1 week ago and was fairly disappoint. First off the package came damaged and all of the items were very loose in the box. Once I opened the box and inspected all the items I realized that they were in way worse condition than "Like New" as claimed. All the speakers have little rips/tears in the mesh over the, the sub-woofer has weird stickers/sticky circles all over the top of it and the remote is very difficult to read/ make our the selection. The backing of the sound bar seems to be loose or not held together that well and, quite frankly, I am not so sure that the sound is of the quality that it should be. I am not huge into sound quality, but I expected better based on the reviews and research I did, so I am not sure if the quality on these speakers is “like new” either.Overall I was misled by the reviews and description. This has been my worst experience buying from Amazon by far. With the great reviews of the product and the LG Wearhouse, I expected to receive a product that is much closer to new condition than what I received which seems like it has been used heavily. In the end these are speakers and that is why I trusted the reviews and quality description; speakers usually sit in a room and face little to no physical contact/damage. The set I received surely wasn’t handled correctly with tears in the mesh, poor assembly, stains on the sub and a poor quality remote.Normally I am not one to complain, but I really do enjoy buying off Amazon and feel that I received a product that would not likely meet their or LG’s quality standards. For the money it cost, I feel major regret for not buying new because what I received is a far cry from new quality. Perhaps this is what to expect when buying used equipment, however I feel what I received is more to the “like old” end of the spectrum rather than “like new” as described and reviewed
VIZIO, stop shipping units that you should statistically KNOW are defective.
December 29, 2015
I am very disappointed with VIZIO on this product. They are capable of so much more than this. I saw the various folks complain about the issue whereby the signal is lost when you switch inputs, but I figured it was a rare anomaly, which any product could potentially suffer from. However, my unit is also experiencing the same issue, only worse. I tried shutting it, and the audio source, off and then back on again and even that doesn't work. Only after I reset the sound bar back to factory settings does it again work. VIZIO has been selling this unit since at least July of 2015 and they haven't bothered to address the issue by recalling the products back in and shipping out a fixed model. Let the consumers figure out which units are bad and we will let them waste their time and money in swapping them out for us. That negative has nearly wiped out the good will from a unit that otherwise works fine.
Bluetooth reception on this refurb is terrible
June 27, 2015
I bought this refurb model as I was very happy with a non-refurb version of this model and wanted to save a bit of cash. The refurb bluetooth range is horrible compared with the exact same new model I have. With the refurb model, the connection drops intermittently if I take my phone 10 feet away from the speaker bar. With the non-refurb model, I can take my phone to a separate floor and it still plays music consistently. The return policy doesn't cover bluetooth connectivity, so I'm stuck with a very mediocre sound experience.I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 star because the sound quality over bluetooth is good when I keep my phone within ~10 feet of the sound bar.
Box missing remote and cables
December 4, 2014
As others have, when I received the item, it appeared as though the box had been previously opened and then poorly retaped up with packing tape. When I opened the box, the four speakers were there, but there was no remote or cables inside, making the sound bar useless. I called amazon to fix it, and the first customer service representative was less than helpful (rare for amazon), but the manager was more than helpful. I'll update my review once I get everything sorted out.
Good Customer Service, Bad Merchandise and Resolution
December 1, 2014
I've had this soundbar for about 4 months now. The two little side speakers are a joke. They hardly put out any sound at all. Maybe if you're using them in a 7 x 7 foot room you'd hear them. Otherwise, it's a waste. As if that wasn't enough, now, after four months of use, the sound keeps cutting off from the soundbar. I have to turn it on and off several times and even then the sound sometimes cuts out in the middle of what I'm watching. Even when it was working, there was a time lag between what I was seeing and what I was hearing.Unfortunately, it's too late to return this piece of crap for a refund. Save your money on this one.I gave two stars because it did arrive in a timely manner and was well packaged. That, unfortunately, is the best I can say for this set of speakers.UPDATE: I'm on the phone with technical support right now. First I went to their website for troubleshooting and was directed to download a firmware update and install it onto a thumb drive which I was instructed to insert into the back of the soundbar. I did all that was instructed and now I'm getting no sound at all. Technical support has taken me through a number of repetitive steps, none of which have resulted in my getting sound back yet. I will update if (and when) that happens.UPDATE #2: It's now been two days since speaking with Technical Support. They couldn't help me get the sound back on my sound bar and said that the download was in fact causing some soundbars to malfunction. The only solution was to send me a "re-certified" soundbar. But first I would have to send back my nonfunctioning unit. The rep said they would email me a label to return it to them and that I should be receiving the label within the next 5 minutes. It's now 12 hours later, and I have not received the mailing label.I will say that everyone I've spoken with in Customer Service has been extremely nice and apologetic. Hopefully this means this issue will be satisfactorily resolved soon. Will update as new developments occur.UPDATE #3: After much back and forth, I finally sent back the defective soundbar. I had to send it in two separate boxes as I had to damage the original box in order to open it. I bubble wrapped the items, and double boxed them, to make sure they arrived undamaged. I took photos as I had a feeling they would try to say they arrived damaged. I sent the items Fedex Ground. I checked the tracking number and saw that they arrived the following day at the Vizio warehouse, which is located in California, not too far from me. Sure enough, I received an email saying they had received the items and that they are damaged. So now I think they're going to try to say that they can't replace them because they received them in damaged condition.UPDATE #4: I just hung up the phone from another call to Vizio trying to resolve the situation satisfactorily, again to no avail. I was told by a representative that, since the unit arrived at the warehouse damaged, the warranty has been voided and, if I want, at my expense, they can return the same unit back to me. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold. Forty minutes later, after being on hold and listening to the same song being looped, I was switched back to another representative (not a supervisor) and told that there was no record of the previous conversation and could I repeat what transpired. I hung up out of frustration and because I have things to do. However, I will be calling back again later, as I refuse to just eat almost $300!My advice to you if you're considering purchasing this: DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP! Save yourself lots of frustration and lost time and buy something more reliable.

Didn't allow me to hide the wires and front of the speaker mount is gaudy.
September 6, 2017
Installation was simple, they hold the speakers just fine, but there are parts of the speaker holder sticking out of the front. I may try to trim off the excess from it. Also attempting to feed the speaker wire/plug through almost resulted in ruining the speaker wire itself since the plug was a right angle plug. I'd suggest creating the pole in a slightly larger diameter...
... gave it a two star rating is because I like the styling
May 11, 2017
The only reason I gave it a two star rating is because I like the styling. Otherwise they are a ZERO for me. My experience is specific to the VIZIO SmartCast™ 45” 5.1 Sound Bar System. These stands were supposed to fit the rear speakers. They DO NOT unless you do some custom machining to either the stands or the speakers at home. I'm not doing that. If you have different speakers they may work great. There just isn't any way to tell until you get them home. My frustration also comes from Vizio not being able to tell me which brand makes stands that are guaranteed to fit their speakers.
Does not fit Klipsch speakers (or any speaker taller than 4 inches)
October 27, 2016
Pro: Very sturdy productCons: Brackets are TINY. I got these for the rear speakers in my surround setup. These stands come with 2 sets of brackets. The largest set is roughly 4-4.5 inches long. If you have anything other than baby speakers, it is unlikely for them to fit.One other note: I bought these after seeing someone else's review where they fit larger speakers. I'm thinking there may be 2 different models of the same stand being sold. Either that or they don't consistently measure the brackets.

August 2, 2016
As others have mentioned, it is not compatible with vizio speakers. It takes some adjusting in order for the vizio wires to fit through the stability holders that stick up. I figured this wasn't a big issue so I bought these knowing I would need to adjust them.Be warned, they are pretty stiff (which is a good thing) so it takes a lot of force to bend them in to shape, and once you do, it won't look very pretty.ALSO make sure you adjust them while they are NOT ON the stands! mine's were leaning in a little too much, so I tried to adjust them out and the entire top (the little flat base) started ripping off the stand poles. I'll probably need to solder it back on since now the stand is essentially useless.
One broke... Amazon replaced it, but big hassle overall
October 23, 2013
The quality of these is probably pretty good overall, judging from the reviews, but I experienced the problem shared by another reviewer: a broken top platform. Apparently, these are spot welded at the top, where the vertical tube attaches to the metal platform that in turn holds your speaker. However, the unit I bought was missing the weld at top, so after installing these, one day the left speaker just fell over, taking the top platform with it. Obviously, as this unit passed down the assembly line, someone was asleep at the wheel... er, spot welder. In the end, and without question, Amazon replaced the defective unit, but I went through the hassle of having to install these twice, uninstall one set, package it up and carry to the post office for return. The base of these is made of heavy cast metal, containing a threaded hole that fits and locks into the vertical pole that in turn holds the speakers up. This part of the assembly is pretty substantial, except that the bases are deeper than they are wide, meaning that they lack lateral stability. On carpet, the base has a tendency to lean or fall over, especially if the speaker you attach weighs more than two or three pounds. The vertical pole that runs from the base to your speaker at top is adjustable, but uses a plastic collar for tightening that can be stripped easily. If you are mounting speakers that are small in form, and that weigh about 2 pounds or less (and if you're lucky enough to get a set that has been manufactured properly), you'll probably be happy with these.
Yamaha 597s don't fit; plastic shims are achilles heel
January 29, 2013
I was under the impression that these were compatible with Yamaha 597 speakers. The stands come with two sizes of screws to secure into the back of the speakers; neither fits the hole in the back of the Yamaha speakers. You have to use the adhesive on the bottom of the speakers to secure them to the flat plate on top of the speaker stand. Also, the manufacturer uses a threaded plastic shim under the height adjustment ring. If the plastic shim breaks and loses its one-piece integrity, the stand won't stay telescoped, it will drop down to its lowest height unless you jimmy-rig some other way to keep it telescoped (glue, etc). On arrival, the plastic shim under the tightening ring on one stand was already broken into two pieces, the other was shattered into several pieces. The first one worked with the shim carefully positioned together under the ring, the second could not keep its jigsaw puzzle arrangement under the adjustment ring well enough to secure the stand.Too bad they chose to use plastic for such a crucial part. It's as if someone made a great car, but decided to mold the axles in plastic. Quality metal product looks like a million bucks, feels like it would last a hundred years, but that plastic part renders it worthless if/when it breaks.I returned the stands for refund.**Update: Originally rated these as one star because of the plastic threaded shims. After researching speaker stands for hours and hours, it looks like that's a near-universal design. I added one star to make two. It's still a terrible design flaw (the shim should be thin metal in a C-shape to allow for compression). I guess that makes 95% of adjustable speaker stands 2-star quality in my book! Guess I'll have to re-order. Next time, when the plastic breaks, I'll just telescope the stands to the height I want, drill a hole, and use a metal screw to secure.

Didn't fit 55"+Vizio soundbar setup, have to visit hardware store
October 6, 2017
While it includes extensive hardware, it's not really universal in my case. For my setup, a TCL 55" and a Vizio soundbar, the brackets are several inches too short. Whether mounted below or above the TV, the soundbar can barely peek around it, even when mounted using the furthest holes on each end. Not sure if it's Vizio's fault for having wide mount points or if these brackets just don't work for TVs that are 55" and up.I'll have to hit the hardware store to try and make it work.

January 29, 2017
Does not work with Sharp Aquos 46" TV - an older model has a small ridge on the back bottom, so this product won't lay flat. Decent construction though, with lots of hardware, so I'm giving it 2 stars.
Not universal
January 7, 2017
Far from universal as far as I'm concerned. I had to Mickey Mouse the installation to get it to work with my LG soundbar
Partly Universal..
October 22, 2016
Attempted use with a LG SoundFlow Soundbar, and even with the provided bracket by LG, these bars would only reach one hole on the back of the soundbar. Bars were sturdy and I assume would work on a soundbar with two holes total instead of four. It did hold with two out of the holes secured that I needed but was too wobbly for my liking.
Doesn't mount properly on Panasonic 50"
May 9, 2013
With a presumably any recent Panasonic 50" TV (they all use the same rear panel VESA config), this thing will mount your soundbar a good 8" above the top of the TV, which looks absurd. I was able to fudge the config with some strange diagonals to get the soundbar about 5" above the top, but it's still a lot higher than planned. See in the picture, how the slats along the long end only good about halfway? That's the problem. There needs to be a third opening to be able to bring the mount down further.
Be prepared to rig your own fastener solution!
May 1, 2013
If you have a bigger soundbar with built-in mounting threads on the back, then this bracket is definitely for you. If you have the "teardrop" bracket, Sewell does not include any fasteners to attach to your soundbar. I ended up buying some locknuts and lots of trial and error, but the soundbar is not as secure as I'd like it to be on the bracket. Also, if you have a smaller soundbar (I've got a Sony CT150), you will see the tops of the bracket peeking up from the soundbar. Not ideal.

The clicker is way too cumbersome, with a display that is nearly impossible to read.
December 20, 2016
The clicker that comes with this unit is needlessly complex, and its liquid crystal display is nearly impossible to read except in the absolute best lighting conditions, which aren't exactly conducive to watching a movie. But it did work -- for a week. Then all of a sudden it just stopped working. So back to amazon.com it went.
This item is NOT COVERED IN VIZIO WARRANTY.
October 23, 2015
Purchased the refurbished soundbar from XtraSaver. Received this item an hour back. The sub-woofer is dead and won't turn on. Tried pairing it following the instruction but that did not work either. The pairing indicator (LED) won't turn up even after pressing and holding the pairing button on the sub-woofer for more that 5 seconds. So called up Vizio for help and here comes the bummer. Although this item is refurbished, XtraSaver is NOT AUTHORIZED with Vizio and this item DOES NOT HAVE A WARRANTY from Vizio. So technically XtraSaver is lying by claiming this refurbished?Have requested refund. Let's see how that goes.*First bad experience from an Amazon purchase. Well everything has a first time I guess.Update==================================Bought the same model from amazon again which is the 2013 version and not refurbished. Differences between the two1. The DTS Circle sound did not work properly in this one. The splitting was awkward, probably based on decibel levels. The 2013 version does a way better job.2. The BLUETOOTH connectivity did not function properly. Had to connect my laptop everytime. The 2013 connects automatically after the first sync. Also the sub-woofer was delivering higher bass when connected via BLUETOOTH compared to the audio cable. This problem does not exist in the 2013 model.3. The remote had to pointed directly towards the speaker to make it work. The 2013 remote works better.4. Wall mounting fittings for the rear speakers were absent in the package. @013 model came with all the fittings.Summery- This refurbished version is $191 and you have to pay around $30 for shipment. There's no point not buying the 2013 version which is $ 180 right now (I paid $169 a couple of weeks back). Also, my conversation with the vizio customer support reveals that the third party sellers on amazon are NOT vizio authorized. Which means vizio products purchased from them are NOT covered under vizio warranty. This is my hunch- the third party sellers merely got the casing and assembled using cheaper chips and programs which results in a much worse out put.
Automagically Mutes Itself Between Things
September 5, 2015
And yet, I won't send it back. Because I'm lazy. But yes, I am one of thousands (millions?) of dupes who bought this product and deal with it just automatically going silent. Between songs playing on my iPhone. Between commercials on TV. Whenever it damn well feels like it.I did read a reviewer on this thread who claimed that turning off the VZtvRmt setting would fix this mildly irritating (read: infuriating) "feature". Do not believe the lies. I have repeated this process over and over again, only to find that I am in fact insane because it hasn't worked once. I reset the sound bar to factory settings: no dice. So, I'll keep living a life where I have to power down my sound bar then back up again any time I want it to do its most basic function: play sounds. But VIZIO, if you read these (doubtful), know that I hate your product with the fiery hatred of 1,000 suns.
Terrible sound control.
August 8, 2015
This sound bar was a problem from day one. I should have returned it then, but made the mistake of thinking one of my friends could make it work. The volume control is a joke, there is no 'control'. It goes way up with the slightest touch one day and then the next I can fiddle with it for several minutes to get any sound at all. Not until this month am I able to purchase a replacement (different manufacturer) and then found out it is beyond refund or replacement. My bad, I guess.
Great...For 30 minutes.
August 7, 2015
Update - Round 2: Amazon sent a replacement. Still very easy to setup. Still works for about 30 minutes before sound starts cutting out. This time both the sound bar and the base module stopped working intermittently. I am returning and going with another brand.I bought the Vizio soundbar when I moved to a new house with built ins that would not fit my receiver and 5.1 system. The 42 inch system had good reviews on Amazon and some tech sites said the sound quality was great for the price. Setup is very easy. It only took a few minutes to run wires and pair with my universal remote. Bluetooth pairing is also very easy. I only set up the soundbar and the wireless sub to begin with but the sound was still very good while it lasted. I started up a BluRay and sat back to enjoy but about 30 minutes into the movie I noticed the base was significantly diminished. It turns out the sub was no longer operating properly in fact all it was doing was thumping at a regular interval which is worse than just shutting off. I've spent the better part of a month trying to trouble shoot the issue to no avail. I'm giving up and returning it if I can. Very disappointing.
Worked good for the first 3 months and then...
March 11, 2015
This was nice at first and everything worked as advertised but about 3 months into owning it the sound would just drop off randomly and not come back until I powered it or the tv off. I'm a professional AV guy and followed the instructions exactly as they are written to update the firmware and still no luck. I then called tech support at Vizio and went through various steps to do the update and yet again got nowhere. The final straw was when I noticed that it won't even pair with my cell phone anymore. It's not right that a unit only 6 or 7 months old just stops working. I was really happy with it at first but now I'm kicking myself for buying this and will pass the word on to my friends and family that Vizio is a brand to stay away from.

Don't buy it if you use banana plugs
March 28, 2017
It's very annoying to assemble, and when I was done, I found that because I use banana plugs on my setup, they would not fit (as you can see in the image).I returned this item
Regret this purchase.
August 10, 2016
The base is nowhere near heavy enough to counter the weight of a speaker on top. Set these up 1 week ago and they have already fallen over 3 times. Looks bad if you dont have them covered with their backs against a wall, the wires are exposed coming out the back. The single screw with which to attach your speaker was not enough to keep my speakers held up and now they awkwardly balance on the frame and are also screwed on at an angle (my speakers are not cubes and don't have 90° angles on the back).
High Expectations, but fell short.
August 8, 2016
I was so excited to set up our surround sound system. I recently also purchased my vizio SB4051-D5 soundbar system. While setting it up I realized that the stands were way too big for the speakers. The mount is too big and the wired brace that holds in place sticks out. If I center the speaker, then the wires will stick out too much. I included pictures and I am hoping that Atlantic will help me solve this problem. Now the speaker sets off centered and the mount shows a lot. The wires stick out and I am hoping my young ones don't hurt themselves or scrap their eye on it.
Wanted To Like Them, But They Fall Just Short
March 3, 2014
I bought these after reading the great reviews, and the feedback saying they worked great with the Energy Take Classic speakers (which I bought as well). Sadly, this is not the case.First off, the stands are cheaply made. I don't care what anyone says, the adjustment knob in the middle breaks easily, and the screws that hold the base that the speaker sits on get in the way of concealing the wires (I was using 16 gauge). I tried the use one screw method, and my speakers hobbled around like a boxer struggling to stay up. I tried the upside down method, they hung on the edge of the base as if they were contemplating audio suicide. Then of course if someone sneezes, nay if a light breeze blows by...these suckers are on the ground.Needless to say, I am returning them, and attempting to find something that actually works. Will they work with other speakers? Maybe light cheap ones. I'd get something else if I were you.
Terrible Quality Control
November 29, 2011
I ordered two sets of these speakers and each package had a defective stand. The first order arrived with a hole that was tapped crooked, so the support pole was wobbly (threads were too shallow to make it stable). After returning them, the second order arrived with a similar problem: the hole was severely off-center from the cast extrusion - enough that there wasn't a solid wall for threads. Again, the support pole was wobbly from lack of - well - support. Any dummy in visual inspection would have caught both of these defects. I will not be trying a third time.
Poorly machined
December 31, 2010
One of my speaker posts was machined incorrectly and dropped right into the base - the threads didn't even catch. The problem is apparently not unique. Moe33 had a similar, though not as severe issue, documented in a review here on amazon.com. This left me with the dilemma, which I still face, of returning the product or finding a workaround. My workaround, several layers of teflon tape on the threads, at least allowed me to continue assembly, but the post is permanently wobbly and I'm not confident it will last more than a few hours. This set may go back to amazon. The bracket for the speaker mounting bolt pretty much exactly covers the wiring posts on the speaker. I worked around this with some fiddling, a sharp bend in the wire, and a careful inspection to insure I wasn't shorting anything out.Yes, they're inexpensive, but they may get returned and wind up as scrap. No one wins that way.Moe33's product review mentioned above is at this permalink:http://www.amazon.com/review/R30M13AM09K60Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B000289DC6&nodeID=&tag=&linkCode=

Not universal

Would not fit my Sony sound bar no matter what I tried. I would have had to grind some metal away from the mounting holes on this "universal" bracket to make it work.
Not for me
October 3, 2014
Was difficult to attach to TV and the actual screws to connect it to the sound bar is/was not included.
