Five Star Reviews: | 90% I have loved this hoe August 26, 2017 I needed a hoe that I could use in my large flower bed, getting in between plants and that would still perform well in the open areas. I have loved this hoe. The weeds were winning the battle due to all the rain our area has had, but I am now starting to regain control. Flat in the front or up on the edges, it takes care of it all. It was a little pricey, but I still love it. A Must Have on the Farm! May 31, 2017 This is an awesome tool!. Very nicely weighted, so gals can use it too! Works great on the farm for chopping out musk thistle and some of the more difficult, firm stemmed weeds. Super sharp, so do be careful. Very well made, and sturdy! Finally, this is how a hoe should be designed May 22, 2017 This is a quality hoe that I'm not sure how you would improve it for general use. To begin with the quality of the tool depends on the quality of the metal in the head. These are made from agricultural disc blades of hardened steel. As a disc used in the field these would see more slicing in the soil in five minutes than the average user will supply in 5 years. It will stay sharp longer than any big box tool and take any punishment you dish out. Next the sharpened edges are great for working under plants and breaking through harder ground. Finally the handle, while as one person noted is slightly rough, it is quality wood with the grain turned to withstand heavy use, like a baseball bat. The roughness doesn't both me as it will polish quickly with use and I wear gloves anyway. Some people have complained about the weight. I would say it's appropriate to the tool and not noticeable. It's a hoe so you still have to exert some strength to pull it through the ground. The weight only aids in cutting into the soil and making it feel like a quality tool. Finally, I have always preferred the flatter profile hoes to the traditional taller shape. It lets the soil flow over the top as you pull it rather than having to drag soil in front and move it with each stroke. I look forward to many years of use with this tool. Sharp and Strong April 24, 2017 Opened it right away and weeded my whole place in about an hour. Ash trees are my bane=bazillions of sprouting seeds. This hoe cut right through them and looks like it will last for the multiple times I will have to repeat this chore. Sharp and strong. Recommended! This hoe kicks a** February 25, 2017 Man this is one serious hoe. Hula hoes and the like are fine for small surface weeds an they have their place. This rogue can do that too. But it is just as capable of taking out big thick rooted weeds. I used to have to pull those out by hand or hack them with a small mattox but Rogue can cut thru the base of succulent 1/2" foots on a good pull stroke. It is well built and has good heft but not too heavy. This hoe kicks a**. A Really Good Hoe June 25, 2016 This is a gardeners Hoe. Very sharp. Cuts more grass with each stroke than other hoes I've used, and with less effort too. We've had 100*F weather for days lately, and the ground is rock hard. That means thick weeds make for tough chopping for any hoe, but this one has become my go to hoe. | 75% Impressive, reasonably sized hand hoe September 8, 2017 If you're looking for a precision weeding device while your plants are growing the Gama hoe handles the need well. Combined with a circular hand hoe and a true temper action hoe, you can basically meet all your gardening needs. The red end of the handle will come off with a little bit of use, but it doesn't hurt the performance of the hoe. While the spot weld looks weak, the unit has held up for 3 seasons now. They make large ones, but I've found them to move too much dirt and you end up tiring your wrist out faster. Extremely effective hoe. My husband saw me using it ... August 8, 2017 Extremely effective hoe. My husband saw me using it and wanted to try. He weeded the entire garden in one morning so, I would say it is very effective ; > It is probably the most effective weeding tool I have used and I've tried many. Careful because it is extremely sharp. Must have in the garden. June 7, 2017 I work both in my own garden and for others and have bought several of these through the years (my husband has to have his own, too). This, a hori hori knife and pruners are my must have gardening tools. LOVE THIS TOOL❤️❤️ May 28, 2017 Money well spent. This little tool is a life saver making my already huge weedingnoroject so much easier. LOVE THIS TOOL❤️❤️ The very best weeding tool ever! October 1, 2016 Smith & Hawkins used to sell a similar hoe, that I relied on for decades, but discontinued it years ago. Since then I've been purchasing this hoe. This is the very best replacement at a wonderful price! I use it to easily weed my flower beds. Whenever it gets dull, which isn't very often, my husband sharpens it. This tool is the best, easiest and fastest way to get rid of weeds and their roots! I'd be lost without it and that's why I always have at least 2 of them! Dirt mover December 12, 2015 In my opinion...Japanese garden tools are superior. They are generally more expensive but they are very sharp and will last a long time. Our soil is fairly hard to work and this tool will make breaking up/weeding my garden a breeze. I'm so excited that I splurged and bought a few things for "me". | 92% Perfect garden tool. August 20, 2017 This is a great garden tool. Sturdy and well designed.I find it is perfect to get rid of dallisgrass; carefully spray the crown of a dallisgrass mat with Roundup, wait a week or so for the roots to die out then use the Prohoe to easily scoop the dallisgrass mat out in one easy sweep. The construction of the hoe is sturdy and will stand up to a lot of heavy use.To me the weight is perfect, heavy enough to assist with a smooth hoeing motion but not cumbersome. (Let the weight of the tool do the work, a lightweight garden tool requires extra body effort and is actually more tiresome than a moderately weighted tool). This is a serious tool, the blade is sharp but certainly not dangerously so for an adult.I am totally satisfied. This is a terrific tool. Far May 30, 2017 This is a terrific tool. Far, far better than all those pieces of crap imported from foreign countries. A tool heavy enough to do work. A handle long enough to not cause your back to ache. Hubby Likes April 25, 2017 Actually purchased for hubby who drove all over trying to find a hoe like this without success. He is an avid gardener and landscaper. He loves the hoe. Great gardening essential June 30, 2016 Great gardening tool. I grew up hoping tobacco fields and know the value of a good tool. With weed seedlings you could get by with a lighter blade but those have a short window to chop. This hoe has enough heft to easily chop down tough weeds in a garden such as pigweed, ironweed, cockleburr and grasses that have tough stems. Also the width of the blade saves time and helps pulling soil around plants. I also like the fact it it made from recycled disc blades with a solid weld to the shaft. Handle is lacquered and kind of slick. A touch of sanding and addition of linseed oil would help. This is a hard working tool that is not the lightest yet very useful Quality product June 5, 2016 Solid, heavy duty. Took out a 4x20' patch of weeds in 30 minutes. Best money I've spent this year on my garden! From a professional gardener and landscaper: Get this hoe. February 24, 2016 This... THIS... is what you need for weeding. Understand, it's not the only tool that you will need, because it's impossible to get the best results with only one. But this HAS to be part of your arsenal. Here's how I know. In our family landscaping and gardening business, we get a LOT of requests for weeding. If you try to do it all by hand, you will lose your mind, and it won't take long. So here's how to weed like a pro. :) Let's say you're working in a bed with some low shrubbery, ground cover, and not much else. Weeds everywhere.1.) If it hasn't rained in the last couple of days, you must water the ground the night before. Really not kidding about this.2.) If there are leaves and debris, blow them out, preferably with a backpack blower-- then you'll be able to see what you have left. Bring a large bucket around with you with a garbage bag in it. Throw weeds in that.3.) Take out larger, clearly defined weeds with long taproots (like dandelions) with a standing weeder. Fiskars is good. With practice, you can remove an awful lot of weeds this way before doing anything else. But there's no way you'll get them all!4.) This is where the hoe comes in. Methodically hoe the rest of the weeds out with long, slow strokes (not chopping up and down.) The edge really needs to be at least reasonably sharp. Get it sharpened regularly or do it yourself (although to tell the truth, this never seems to work quite as well.) If this is too difficult, you probably didn't water the ground the night before! ;)5.) There are ALWAYS some weeds left, so use a farmer's knife/hori hori tool to get those out.6.) If it's been raining for days on end, things will be a mess, but sometimes it's going to be six months until it stops raining and that's just how you have to do it. You will really feel the benefits of this method in that case.6.) Some free advice...while weeding, DO NOT bend at the waist, and NEVER EVER straighten up at the waist from a bent-over position. Set your feet first and make sure your lower back is arched. Then straighten your legs. The best way to get the last few weeds out, quite honestly, is not on your hands and knees, and not sitting down. It's a squatting position. Yep. You read that right! And yes, you can do it!! I had ten knee operations before I was 20 years old, and that's how I do it.Over time, you will kill your back, shoulders, arms, and hands weeding any other way. Believe me, you will. I have had MANY years of physical therapy, and I'm passing the knowledge on to you. :) So get this hoe! | 91% but reviews I read all said the handles or the welds broke pretty quickly on the mostly Chinese made stuff May 28, 2017 I'd been using my grandfather's hoe for many years until the neck finally broke. In need of a replacement, I looked at the usual big box stores, but reviews I read all said the handles or the welds broke pretty quickly on the mostly Chinese made stuff, so I did a Google search and stumbled across Rogue Hoe. I like that they are taking old farm equipment and repurposing it, and that it's an American company. They seem pricey, but reviews were all good, so I decided to pay more and buy a tool I hoped would last the rest of my life. Initial inspection leads me to believe this hoe will most likely outlive me if properly cared for. I used it for the first time for about two hours yesterday, weeding a severely overgrown and neglected large flower bed. It worked wonderfully and with the smaller sharpened edges I was able to get right up next to the plants I wanted to keep. It worked so much better than the 70 year old hoe I'd been using. I'd planned to put down a thick layer of mulch today to hopefully smother the weeds while they are damaged and cut below ground at the roots, but alas, it's supposed to rain almost every day for the next two weeks, so I'll likely get to used it again before I can get the mulch put in. Weeding is never fun, but the 575G Rogue Hoe makes it at least tolerable and definitely satisfying to see the end results. Nice tool. If in tough soils, rocks, or grass, try the 65 VW instead. April 14, 2017 This is a very nice tool. I'm 6'3" and the handle suits me fine. I can reach far under trees and stuff to get to those stubborn weeds (rather than crawling on the ground with a hand tool). Very nice in dirt, sandy type soils, flower beds, and gardens. Very quick and easy for small weeds. Does okay on medium weeds. Established plants with thick roots like clover and alfalfa are very resistant to this tool. If it's got a root like those, you need something else. Knocks out small sage no problem. Sage with thick stems and branches? Need something else. For dandelions mixed into tough grass turf, this tool is a little fatiguing to do the push-pull thing to get them out one at a time. I found myself going back squatting with a hand pick. It was much faster. Then my rogue hoe 65 VW arrived with the pointy tip. Popped out weeds from grass turf without difficulty. It was also easier and faster in the driveway gravel parking areas. The pointy tip made it easier to get under the rocks, dig through the weeds, and rake everything back with the other end of the 65 VW. Both have their uses. The VW is going to sort of plow the ground like you're going to plant stuff, or you can use the wider end to make a flatter cut. The 575G makes pretty even cuts. It does have a bowed edge. The sides are pretty good for single weeds. The wide edge lets you take out groups of weeds with ease. If you've got really tough soil, lots of rocks, thick grass turf ... you may want the 65 VW instead. The 65 slices through that stuff. I guess if I could only have one, I'd use the 65 VW with the rocky soils around here. The 575 feels lighter to me. A Wonderful Hoe May 17, 2016 This is a wonderful hoe. It slices weeds off below the stem, right through the roots so they don't come back. It is the best hoe I've ever used, and I've worked in a garden since I was a child, 70+ years. It is well balanced and easy to use. It was excellently packaged, and quickly delivered. Great Hoe for any Gardener July 23, 2015 I just got my Prohoe today and couldn't wait to try it out. It has a nice long handle is nicely balanced. It also doesn't weigh a lot which is good for me because I use it at a community garden and I have a long difficult walk to get to my plot. It's nice to know that there are still tools manufactured in this country. My grand kid will be using this hoe. It is that well-made. Weeding is not my favorite part of gardening. But this tool definitely helps ... less tired muscles and blisters ... and most importantly ... less weeds. Great value for the money April 17, 2015 I could replace every other hoe I own with this one - and I probably will. Since having hand surgery last spring, I've had problems using my two-handed gardening tools. I can use this hoe in a "thumbs-up" position, almost a sweeping motion, and work around existing plants to cut off weeds just below the ground. My first test-task was clearing a large area of Creeping Charlie that had taken over a shrub bed. I was amazed at how quickly and easily the job went. I've bought several hoes in my search for the most effective, least painful tool for me to use. None of them do as well as the 575G. I was concerned about the cost, but once I saw the quality and effectiveness of this tool, I was convinced. I could have saved money, effort, and time by buying this hoe instead of all those others. I really like this hoe!!! June 23, 2014 I never used anything other than a regular garden hoe that you would find at any hardware store until I came across these slimmer, sharper Rogue hoes. They are really great. This is the 3rd one I've purchased in 2 years. I gave the other two away and just couldn't do without one myself. Once you use these hoes you will not want to use any other style. They are easily maneuvered around the closest of garden plants like onions and require less effort to cut into the soil. I also like the long handle and the angle of the blade is just right for comfortable usage. High quality steel and solid wooden handle and made in USA...doesn't get much better than that. I hope they stay in business a long time. | 86% Great tool for the wildland firefighter. October 10, 2017 Haven't had the opportunity to use this on a fire yet, but the quality is great for the price. I know tons of wildland firefighters who swear by Rogue Hoes. Since I'm usually flown to assignments, I can't really take this with me, but next fire in my area, it's going out to dig some line! This is better as long as you don't have to cut a ... August 26, 2016 I used a pulaski in the Forest Service for years. This is better as long as you don't have to cut a lot of roots. It'll go through regular duff 2x to 3x faster than a pulaski and is lighter so less work. Great tool! These instruments are great. I don't review stuff July 5, 2016 These instruments are great. I don't review stuff, but this group deserves it. No brainer. I've been building my own singletrack around our property and it has been invaluable. I actually used a different product from the same company up to this point, but it was so good I thought I'd add to my quiver. Would have no qualms recommending the company or their product after a solid month of using them to remove roots, rocks, ferns, and even smashing limbs off of obstructing trees while trying to create a new trail. comes very sharp and with a beautiful, curved April 23, 2016 Although not a true grape hoe, it works extremely well for removing sod; comes very sharp and with a beautiful, curved, sanded smooth, finished hickory handle. Also cuts through roots easily. Not as heavy as hoes made for sod cutting but it's a little more versatile since one can go from cutting sod to cutting through roots in one motion. I used it to cut out new vegetable gardens; the lighter weight (but not too light) and high quality blade made it a breeze and easier on my back. Made in the USA, they say from recycled farm implements. The price is remarkably low for such a great tool I don't know why anyone would ever by a similarly priced Chinese piece of junk or lower quality more expensive Italian one. The Perfect Trail Tool August 7, 2014 I purchased the Prohoe to use on a trail project that we have been working on. The first day I had it on site two of my fellow volunteers tried to "borrow" it! It works great and it has become my favorite tool. The handle is the right length and it works great for benching and chopping through roots large and small. The pick end could be a little longer but there are other versions available through this manufacturer that may be better for you. For my money this is the perfect tool for trail work. I would strongly recommend purchasing this. American made was the clincher! DAMN! June 12, 2014 I didn't tell my husband that I had ordered this. He came home from a run and saw it and automatically said that it would be great for trail work! We are runners and belong to a club and we clean up park trails as volunteer work among other things. Should have got two. I'm a bare foot runner so do most yard work bare foot. I WILL be wearing shoes using this one though and I don't think it will join all the other numerous hoes on the dead hoe pile soon. I was either repairing or throwing away hoes constantly working in my own gardens and a broken tool will set you back the rest of the day. I'm only 5'2" and weigh 115lbs. So this will be easier to use than my 8 lb. maul. Will make for great ab work as well as upper body while I clean my gardens of the wretched crab grass. My Renter, friend and neighbor took one look at it and said "WICKED! Hope you never aim that at me! " LOL. I love the quality steel and it actually has beveled edges that aren't going to mess around! Love it! My other little hoe that I love and is a light hoe and you can't find them in the average home and garden dept. is the 'winged hoe" Handy for delicate work up close to the plants. |
Four Star Reviews: | 6% When I ordered the hoe I was not sure what to expect. June 13, 2017 When I ordered the hoe I was not sure what to expect. It has been a great tool to work with. The weight and sharpness of the head were great. My only dislike is that it’s not as deep or high in ... July 15, 2016 Its long and heavy duty. I decided after my old hoe snapped at the weld point to get a continuous one that terminated into a sleeve. My only dislike is that it’s not as deep or high in the plate area as a standard one so may have to dig the same area twice. Having said that, the blade is sharp and heavy duty providing quick destruction to weeds and grass. ... but this is a well balanced hoe that is easy to direct and with a enough heft and sharpness ... March 3, 2016 Not a real gardener nor pretend to be but this is a well balanced hoe that is easy to direct and with a enough heft and sharpness to easily chop roots. Prohoe Rogue Garden Hoe, 7 inch October 14, 2015 This is a must have tool for the average gardener. Makes you more efficient and gets the job done in a minimum amount of time.Good for getting rid of weeds and also for toiling the garden beds or soil. Good Quality, shipped fast April 8, 2015 Good quality tool. Wish it came with someone to do the hoeing. :) | 13% Great Little Hoe September 18, 2017 I must admit I was skeptical when I opened the package and saw the hoe. My first thoughts were, "Wow, it looks like a toy and there's not way this hoe can dig." This house was actually must better weeding out crabgrass than the standard weeder tool. I was able to get the entire root of the crabgrass with just a single whack. It's very sharp too. However, the handle is a bit short. Otherwise, it's a great hoe for the price. love, hate September 13, 2017 When you look at the picture that is shown online you are led to believe that the handle of this tool is one piece and not separately attached to the blade. I found this deceptive and had I known that it was forged to the blade I would not have purchased it . Overall it is a useful tool but not a terrific buy! It works well for weeding around small plants. I sit on a bench to save my back. Good Hoe at a Great Price June 27, 2017 This hoe is really great for the price. I haven't had any issues with it. A bigger handle would be nice for grip ease. Best hand weeder July 31, 2016 This is a great tool. It's very sturdy and sharp. After 8 or so hours of weeding it was dull but I was able to sharpen it again with no problems. The red cap comes off and I put it in my pocket until I finish weeding, but it's convenient for hanging. The handle could be two inches longer, but it's not a big deal. This weeder is great for dry or semi dry soil and weeds under 5 inches tall. It also does a great job removing grass that's creeping into the garden. I can see why it is a favorite tool for many people April 17, 2016 It is very sharp and handy. I can see why it is a favorite tool for many people. I also see why many people complain that the head comes off. The welding doesn't seem to be the best quality. But I think that I can keep this tool functioning for a long time by paying attention to that joint. | 6% Heavy, but works well. April 18, 2016 Heavy, but works well and is sharp. I hope it holds up...already has a ding or two in the blade, but otherwise works well. ... well made hoe and I am putting it to good use. March 24, 2015 This is a well made hoe and I am putting it to good use. | 6% Good tool, bad packaging. May 21, 2016 I have used the hoe and am pleased with the results. The narrow profile and sharp edges are a real asset in precision hoeing. I do feel a more slender handle would improve the balance of the tool. As it is the too thick handle moves too much of the operational weight away from last the working end. There was a problem with the shipping package. The sharp corner of the tool had cut through the cardboard exposing itself and posing an injury risk to the UPS delivery person. other than that best hoe I have ever owned May 6, 2016 geometry on blade could be a bit more aggressive. other than that best hoe I have ever owned. Like axe sharp March 14, 2016 Man these things are built well!!!! It puts the ones at the big box stores to shame. As others have mentioned they are sharp.... Like axe sharp! So be careful with them. I did like it. It sure beats bending over to weed ... January 21, 2015 I got this as a gift for Christmas. I've only had an opportunity to get in the yard and use it once due to weather conditions. I did like it. It sure beats bending over to weed and it is much faster. I don't think I was getting the root of the weed though. I'm wondering if they will come back quickly in the spring. Lightweight but tough June 16, 2014 Looking for a garden hoe for keeping weeds in check in my perennial bed, I tried the Rogue 575G and am very pleased with how its small-sized head can easily be navigated between other plants and yet has the heft needed to slice off or root out weeds. Great for tight areas! | 12% it moves dirt quite well and tears through roots better than a combi May 24, 2016 I use this tool fighting fire on a regular basis, it moves dirt quite well and tears through roots better than a combi. The only negative I have is that it seems to be made of softer steel than pulaskis are and loses its edge more than expected Nice and strong May 18, 2016 Very hearty tool. The handle was a bit shorter than I expected, but other than that it really works well. Zombie killer October 22, 2015 Well this thing is heavy duty. When you swing it, you know you got weight behind it. Well built, strong. Perfect for killing weeds and if you ever need to kill those pesky zombies, this is the thing to have. It would split them in two. After a day with it, I found the handle too short. So I ended up making a new handle that is 60 inches long. Now I can stand up instead of leaning way over and killing my back. This thing will out last me.Buzz. |
Three Star Reviews: | 2% The tool is sharp and the wood handle is sturdy and made of solid wood June 5, 2017 The tool is sharp and the wood handle is sturdy and made of solid wood. I would have liked it if the tool head was heavier to get a good swing and whack the ground. The blade is great, but the handle is really heavy May 23, 2017 The blade is great, but the handle is really heavy, making it tiresome to work very long in the garden It could use more fine sanding and some linseed oil February 23, 2017 Handle is dry and not smooth. It could use more fine sanding and some linseed oil. Light duty March 24, 2016 This hoe is OK if you have light work to do. It is well made and easy to use. I wanted to use it for trail building and found it a little small and light weight. | 7% ... is attached with a spot weld that isn't very sturdy. This is a light duty tool but the ... July 15, 2016 The hoe blade is attached with a spot weld that isn't very sturdy. This is a light duty tool but the right shape for what I was looking for in a hand hoe. Crudely Made but Effective June 30, 2016 This tool consists of a sharp triangular blade tack-welded to a length of square metal bar embedded in a small wooden handle with a short rubber covering having an eyelet. The design and functionality are quite good, but the handle is a bit short for Western hands, the rubber covering falls off the handle easily, and no effort was made to smooth or refine what is a serviceable but rough weld. Not as good as Martha Stewarts - but okay. June 20, 2016 It works well, I have a tool similar to this that was Martha Stewart brand that I LOVED but unfortunately cannot find anywhere anymore. This is good, just not as good as MS version. The little rubber end of the hoe keeps coming off which is irritating, the shaft should be longer and for the price it feels a bit cheap (again, as compared to the Martha Stewart version). Give or Take.... February 8, 2015 It does what I need it to do mostly.....The first two I bought broke under use....the weld from the handle to the blade is not hefty....and stresses out before it's time. I have seen other products of the same kind that were more robust and lasted longer....but I was not able to find one of the older models....and had to settle for this one....which is adequate but not preferred.... | 1% the blade length is too short and its not worth ... May 19, 2016 the blade length is too short and its not worth for the money i spend..its my opinion Great tool! Well balanced and very sharp March 4, 2016 Great product. Very sharp tool as stated.Would buy again. | 2% I found the hoe to light. Even with the ... June 24, 2016 I found the hoe to light. Even with the razor sharpness it takes a lot of hoeing to get through tougher weeds. I am short so this would be nice with a smaller handle but otherwise works great April 28, 2016 I am short so this would be nice with a smaller handle but otherwise works great, small head for the price. Light, great shape, but questionable durability June 2, 2015 I received the hoe, which arrived just fine. It was indeed sharp, but I am disappointed in the overall quality. It was sharp at first, but barely lasted 45 minutes of removing grass and weeds from my garden. The edge is not at all durable and does not seem that it was properly hardened or heat treated. While I did admittedly gently bump it against some chicken wire fencing (to keep my dogs out of the garden), such light gauge wire should not be expected to damage a good quality tool – instead there are literally divots and nicks in the blade edge. I would have been better off just using a shovel to plane down the surface, at least I know it wouldn’t get torn up from a tiny wire. Perhaps the one I got somehow missed a step in the tempering process. It will still work for rough stuff and for getting under a root to pop it up, but it is just not holding an edge as I had expected it to.I’ve been able to keep the edge somewhat sharp by honing it with a carbide sharpening tool I got on amazon. I had to invest another $12 in that, and need to use it every 10-15 minutes to keep the edge from getting completely blunt. It can’t remove the pits, so I have an almost serrated blade now.The item is now used, and wouldn’t be worth the shipping to send it back. If I had purchased this locally at ace or home depot, I would have taken it straight back to the store after the first use and bought another brand. The handle and attachment point do seem to be of very good quality, so my only issue here is with the steel head. The hoe is okay; however, there were a ... May 4, 2015 The hoe is okay; however, there were a couple of noted issues..1) There were a few runs in the clear coat finish on the handle which could be felt while using the hoe... Once these were sanded flush, then the handle was smooth for use.2) One side of the long cutting edge appears to have gotten to hot during the sharpening process turning 1/4" of the edge a blued color.. One concern is if the edge gets to hot during the sharpening process, the temper (built-in hardness) of the steel could be ruined. | 1% What's with the Product Description: Product Features ***EXCELLENT DIRT ... Two Star Reviews: | 2% With the curved surface, it will only cut weeds ... July 20, 2017 With the curved surface, it will only cut weeds if you strike a weed with the exact middle of the blade. Otherwise you are chopping dirt. sort of looks like cast iron June 27, 2017 Bought this last fall for spring use. Have a mulched and wood chip garden with little weed pressure. Mostly use it for making seed trenches to plant in. Today the neck that connects the blade to the wooden handle snapped. Not sure it can be welded, sort of looks like cast iron. Kind of a bummer for a $70 hoe that has not been heavily used. | 3% Two Stars December 1, 2016 This is not an extraordinary tool, it broke at the weld after 3 months of use. | 1% Two Stars March 16, 2017 Hoe dented and chipped first five minutes of use. Clean soil no rocks just grass roots. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 1% Did not suit our purpose. May 3, 2016 I purchased this item for my wife, the gardner. Unfortunately it was too light for the work she wanted to do with it. Digging out old and established beds. The hoe it's self is very well constructed and I think it would do a great job in an established garden but it just didn't suit our needs. Thanks |
One Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 2% Love it, but didn't last August 2, 2015 I loved this hoe, but it only lasted one week before the head flew off. Great tool...until it breaks September 11, 2013 I had borrowed a tool like this and loved it. Bought this one and loved it until one day the head just broke off! I really expect more than one season from a tool. I then bought two similar ones from two other companies and so far so good...but still in the first season with them. This style weeder/cultivator is my favorite gardening tool--but will not buy from this manufacturer again. | 0% | 1% Didn't work for me July 8, 2017 I saw all the great reviews so I thought I'd try this one out. It looks sturdy and strong enough not to break. Unable to use it, the curve isn't helping. Wasn't able to cut any weeds with it. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
