To clear up all the confusion / Can I rely on this seller?
November 8, 2016
To clear up all the confusion, these Are authentic Brita products packaged in two, five pack Brita boxes with each filter individual wrapped, 15sec wash. They fit; different design but I'm thinking improved and the fit is universal. This seller has the best price on Amazon. I did a lot of research on this product because I had time to do so. Beware of knock-offs! FURTHER, Amazon needs to be prodded with the responsibility of providing accurate information to the consumer. Buyer beware. Do Your homework but We need to make Amazon aware that They bear the responsibility to inform their customers about the RELIABILITY of where they get, I mean, Advertise their products on their website. Buyer beware. Do your own homework! Research before you buy. If only Amazon, the BBB & Consumer Reports were all somehow inter-connected, that would be sweet.
Good Price and They Work!

These Brita filters are quite a bit less than buying them at my supermarket. Please note that they are the older style Brita pitcher filters. They last for two months of quite heavy use (there are two of us at home full time). Our tap water has so much chlorine that sometimes you can smell it when showering or when hand washing the dishes. The Brita pitcher filters remove all trace of the chlorine taste and smell. We had been using the Brita faucet filter, but the latest models (we tried two) stopped working about after a year or so and had to be replaced. The faucet filter system is rather expensive to last only a year or so - so we switched to the pitcher. The pitcher filters are individually boxed and are very simple to use. Just remove the old filter from the pitcher well, drop the new filter in a glass of water and let sit for a few minutes. Then drop the new filter into the pitcher well and fill the pitcher. Toss out the first pitchers of water (or use on your plants or garden) and then you are good to go! The NEW Brita pitcher filters do NOT have to be placed in a glass of water, but go directly to the the pitcher water well. Read the online description carefully to see if you are getting the old style or the new style filters.

May 22, 2016
I prefer these filters over the Brita "Advanced" filters, so I was thrilled to find them. PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL BRITA FILTERS AND NOT THE NEW ADVANCED FILTERS.They're exactly what I wanted, I prefer them to the newer model because I have found that they stay in the pitcher better -- I don't mind pre-soaking them before use, but if you hate that step, you should probably buy the Brita Advanced filters as I don't think that they require that step.Anyway, as stated in other reviews, it is a 10-Pack, aka two 5-packs inside a bigger 10-pack box, and each piece is individually wrapped -- I don't know why that is an issue for some, I was psyched about the two 5-packs because they take up less room and are easier to store in my apartment than the 10-pack box would be. They are brand new, I don't know how old they are, but I doubt anything like that matters. My water tasted like hot garbage before, now it tastes better because I'm drinking filtered water instead of tap water like a fancy lady, so, that's why these filters get 5 stars.
Got these because there's a new design for Brita filters ...
February 22, 2016
Got these because there's a new design for Brita filters and I wasn't sure the new kind would fit my old pitcher. These work well as always.
Best buy in bulk
January 6, 2016
I've had my Brita filter for over 10 years and for the past 6 years I've purchased the filters through Amazon at a much lower price than singly in the store. Each filter lasts me (a single woman) 6 months. I clean the pitcher every month or so (we have iron in the well water). When I don't want to drink the water cold from the fridge, I have a glass pitcher on the counter for room-temperature filtered water. It would cost me a small fortune to buy bottled water and this way I don't have recycling issues.
Product as described, great price
April 15, 2012
I read the reviews for this before buying and wanted to leave my own as the newest review was for a year ago. This is a 10-pack of Brita filters, for a pitcher. They fluctuate a bit in price, but the deal here (I paid $47) is decent. You may be able to find them elsewhere for cheaper, though the warehouse stores do not consistently carry these filters, so it's up to you whether you want to shop around to find them for <$5 each. I ordered these and they got to my house <24h later, which I prefer to driving around town. The deal seems solid. The second point I wanted to address was whether these are "old filters". They are new, unopened, in the org packaging, etc. I don't know that carbon filters even expire, but these look new and work just fine. The water tastes better after being filtered. Finally, some reviews mention that, although the listing is for a 10-pack, it's really just two 5-packs. This is half true. The filters arrived in a big box that looked just like the picture above. When I opened the box, it contained two smaller boxes of five, like you would find at the store. I thought "oh cool, these will be easier to store in my basement than a big box." Each filter is individually wrapped, so I don't see what the big deal is. That said, if you have trouble with 2 x 5 = 10, then these are not for you.

The good thing here is better than brick & mortar prices ...
February 25, 2016
The Brita system does well what it is intended to do. I take my pitcher with me on trips to various towns around Texas, and the straight tap water - very different in smell and taste from town to town - is made more consistent and palatable by running through the filter. These are stock Brita filters, no different from the ones on the shelf in Walmart or any other retail store. The good thing here is better than brick & mortar prices and convenience of delivery. In these respects, this is an excellent buy.
Always keep them handy
February 24, 2016
love the brita pitcher. you must change the filters often and having lots of extras makes it easyto do so. Price is competitive.....
Take seconds to use it!!
June 15, 2015
We have been using Brita for years and one filter can use up to 2 months for two people. I placed the order and it didn't look the same from what I used to buy when I received it. I guess they got the new design. The old filter has to be soaked for 20 minutes before using it. However, the new design filter just simply rinse it for 15 seconds under running water. And it is ready to use.
Our Water Tastes So Much Better with Brita
January 22, 2015
So far, Brita filters still makes bad water taste good. We have the worst tasting water, filled with too much 'stuff'. Tried going the 5-gallon/bottled-water delivery, but it just cost too much when you include the rental fees. Plus, those bottles are not an easy lift. We have two Brita Pitchers so the economy replacement package is a good value. I didn't give them a "5-Star" because I still don't like having to soak the filters before each use.
I'll give it a four.
March 6, 2014
The packaging was trashed, and the filters were shaken so badly that a lot of the charcoal contained in the filter was loose and inside the plastic wrapper that each filter is stored in. So I took pictures and sent them to the supplier who instantly responded with a offer of a full refund with the return of the filters; or I could keep charcoal diminished versions they sent me and get half off. It wasn't a terrible amount that they'd lost and they were still perfectly usable, so I took the half off. I've been using them for 2 or 3 months now - so far so good. That's why even knowing they came to me looking like that had a night or two out on the town in Vegas, I choose to give them another chance. They've been keeping me happy with clean water ever since, pun fully intended. Seriously though, why can't a place where clean water flows freely out the tap exist? ......still, I guess I can feel like I'm drinking fresh mountain spring water after my shady tap water is filtered.

Much better than nothing, but my water supply is deteriorating
March 12, 2017
They were leaking some carbon out the top that made each filter discolored. I moved on from Brittas after 10 years. With the decreasing quality of municipal water, I had to go with an RO system, and the cost of the Britta filters was better spent on that.
These are not as pictured - they are the newer style, but still work okay.
April 22, 2016
I ordered these specifically because they appeared to be the old style Brita replacement filters (that fit nice and snug into the pitcher) rather than the new ones with the weird handle on the top that everyone complains fall out of the filter easily. Well, of course I didn't get what was pictured - I got the newer version. I will say that I have not had a problem with the filter falling out of the pitcher, and it does filter water just as good as the old version, but please update the picture to reflect what you're actually going to send. I'm pretty sure I spent more on these than I otherwise would have (I could have gotten a better deal buying them from a different distributor on Amazon) solely because I wanted the old style and did not want to risk the new ones falling out.

March 10, 2016
I've only used one filter so far but I noticed that the water had a noticeable black tint when filtered. It was probably safe to drink but drinking black water felt a little unsettling. It took about 12 runs of filtering to have the water filter clear. I'm not sure if the others will be the same but I've been using Brita filters for over 5 years and never ran into this problem.
Works fine but carbon particles where too prevalent and scattered around

Works fine but carbon particles where too prevalent and scattered around. But works fine once I rinsed them out..and the price was super cheap.
Filters Work Great Packaging is a Little Iffy
October 25, 2014
Hopefully the filters will work. The filters arrived in three boxes of three and one singular filter. One of the boxes was damaged and had to have been placed inside the outer box In which the filters were shipped that way as the other filter boxes that were located on either side of the damaged one were fine. The filters that I have ordered in the past have worked fine. They definitely make water taste much better than without filtering.
Fine if you are in a place where the water is already fairly clean
September 13, 2009
The city water where I live already undergoes quite a bit of treatment and is generally thought to be very clean. As a result, I use the brita filters as a method of cleaning the water one last time, which usually marginally improves the taste of the water.I purchased the 10 pack off of amazon because it was a great deal. Like many of the other reviews of mentioned, there does seem to be something different about these versus the ones that you purchase in the store. I noticed a lot more of the charcoal coming out of the top of the filter into the carriage. The pitcher would get a lot more dark and collect quite a bit more charcoal than I ever noticed in the past. It was a bit disturbing. However, the water did taste better, relative to the non-filtered water. I can only assume that it was doing some of the filtering you'd expect from a charcoal filter (plenty of website to explain what I mean by this). However, I am now using a different system. As I had not experienced this weird charcoal leakage thing from any of the filters I'd purchased in a store, I would say that these are somehow different.

Several broken and unusable.
April 6, 2017
Disappointing. Several have cracked and are completely unusable as the charcoal leaked out everywhere.I kept these in my hallway closet so it's not like they had been bouncing around, but I should have known there would be a problem because both boxes they came in were dented when they arrived. If you order this and the boxes are dented (not the brown Amazon one but the two blue boxes with the filters inside), do NOT accept the shipment. This is sold by Brita so I expected better; it's not like I ordered some knock-off. Maybe that was one bad shipment; I'm willing to try one more time, but buyer beware.
black flakes
January 21, 2016
no matter how much i follow the instructions with pre-soaking, i still see black flakes coming from these filters. I just have to wait for them to settle at the bottom and hope when I pour the water out, the flakes are not coming with it.
and therefore don't like it.
October 27, 2015
I've been using these for decades and plan to contuinue. However, I can't seperate the end to end purchase, delivery and service from reflecting on the product itself. Anyone who uses these, knows what they are, etc. So, in that light, it's a bit less then OK in this context of purchase. and therefore don't like it.

October 10, 2015
I have been ordering these filters from Amazon for years without any trouble. This time each individual bag has bits of the black carbon loose inside. I rinsed them off and am using them anyway... hope this doesn't mean the product has been compromised....
Seemed either old or damaged.
October 9, 2014
I've ordered and used Brita filters for many years, and the price on these is great. These filters, however, were very different from what I've seen before. They appear to be authentic Brita filters, but each filter had a very large amount of loose carbon dust all over the inside of the package, staining the outside of the cartridge. The filters have so much carbon dust and loose particles that they feel gritty through the packages. The outside of each sleeve says that the filters may have moisture inside upon opening them up, and past filters I've used did have minor amounts of moisture and little to no carbon dust floating around inside the package. These were definitely NOT moist - instead they seemed almost desiccated, and maybe that's the problem - lack of moisture makes the dust come out. Maybe they were stored in a hot shipping container or warehouse for too long. I'm ok with a few particles floating up in the pitcher during use - they never make it down into the clean side, but these just look damaged when you first open them. I'm using them anyway, but likely won't order these again.
Not original Brita filters
January 26, 2013
This review is for the 10-pack from the seller "Velvet Cake". The filters I received came loosely packaged, and they had purple printing on them. I checked for the "Brita" name, and couldn't find it. They don't exactly look like Brita filters either--side-by-side with original filters (which I'd also bought from Amazon, just not from this seller) you can see differences in the original vs the ones I just received.I think that selling these as actual Brita filters is false advertising, and I haven't decided whether I want to return them or use them anyway. I paid the price I did because I thought they were original filters, and I would not have paid this much had I known they wouldn't be original.

Someone better look into this company
March 27, 2017
Someone better look into this company. I am telling you something is very wrong. I checked each one of the filters myself and each one read differently after I filtered water. NOT good...I returned and waiting for a refund. NEVER buy again. If you buy get yourself a filter thermometer to test the water after it's been filtered and you will know right away if the filters are bootlegged or simply NO GOOD!!!!!
It's a waste of time and my postage back
July 3, 2016
Had to send them back. the filters were okay, I guess, but they were not the ones listed on my search. I have an older model and took the time to look for it's serial number and included it in my search filters and so it irritates me to get switched to something I didn't want! grrr... This is probably the third time that I purchased an incorrect item after searching for something else. It's a waste of time and my postage back. JP
So much for advanced filters - the old ones outperformed these new and improved filters
March 2, 2016
The box says they're Brita replacement filters, made in Canada and distributed for Brita, and supposedly new and improved. These are absolutely the worst filters ever. I've been through four of them in the last six weeks trying to get drinkable water, using far less than 40 gallons per filter, and the water is undrinkable, with a horrible stale and foul odor if left to sit in the pitcher more than four hours. The filters are completely dry, as other reviewers have noted, and I'm not seeing any charcoal dust so perhaps they didn't put it in my filters, which might be contributing to the incredibly bad taste of the water (tap water tastes better than this) and awful smell I notice in the filters. I'm ready to throw my Brita pitcher away as well as the other six filters.

September 2, 2015
These new filters are terrible. When you pour the water in you can clearly see the water getting past the filter. They do not seal at all so the water just goes around the filter and gives you a mixture of filtered water and the tap water you poured in. I've never had this problem before with the older filters. It has made the Brita completely unusable. Will need to find an alternative.
Real Brita filters? I have doubts!
December 4, 2014
These filters were defective and may be knockoffs. Filters were dirty right out of the box and their plastic sleeves were full of charcoal; they did not arrive in a Brita box, as pictured; the plastic sleeves were printed with a subtly different pattern than the authentic Brita pattern; filters were misshapen and slightly off in size and color. When placed in water, they continued to float after half an hour, while authentic Brita filters, in my experience, go straight to the bottom of the jar and stay there.Very relieved to have purchased them under a return policy.
Stay Away
November 10, 2014
You want new in box filters? Stay away from the ten pak. Bought these and they came free floating in a box. We're they sealed in white plastic? Yes but it's impossible to tell of they are legit and we. You open them, they are all deformed and the charcoal is leaking all over the place. You're better off going to your local box store.
