Worked Like a Charm in Europe! Will Be Ordering a Second One
May 26, 2016
Worked great in Europe! I didn't know it came with its own adapter (I guess I didn't read that in the product info), so that was a bonus, and I didn't even need the adapter set I'd bought to go with it. I don't know if I used it correctly, but I put it on the high setting for my hair dryer and the low setting for small electronics (camera, phone, etc), and it worked like a charm. Will be ordering another one before my next Europe trip so I can charge more than one thing at a time.
Does Its Job: Simran1875 Watts International Travel Voltage Converter for 110V [Model #SM1875]
October 25, 2013
This small little converter [Model #SM1875] did its job without a problem. We needed to useit for our hair driers and, well, we were able to dry our hair. It's a good thing when you arevisiting an Asian country in the summer and it is 85 degrees with 75 percent humidity, everyday we were there.I found that the converter did run a bit warm but seemed to be no problem with repeateduse. I could still handle the converter after it was used. Definitely unplug the device afterevery use though. Good idea in any case.So I can easily give this little Voltage Converter 5 stars for doing it's job without a problem.Well worth the cash to keep my electronics from frying even though it is fuse protected.Who wants to go looking for a fuse in a foreign country?

we thought it'd be best to get a lock
October 12, 2017
We recently purchased these product for our trip to Italy to lock our backpack and my wife's purse. After hearing so many stories about pickpocket, we thought it'd be best to get a lock. Easy to setup and place your preferred pass-code. The numbers aren't too small as some comments have mentioned - IMO. Well after unlocking and relocking this several times during our trip it hasn't broke on us yet. It was useful since it was a peace of mind going into crowded train stations and buses.

April 3, 2017
Used this the past six months with traveling and have not been disappointed. The lock works great, I like that the handle can loop around, making it easier to attach through zippers, etc. Easy to take off for airport security, light and gives you that extra sense of security. I am happy with this purchase. We got one blue and one red.

This is a great lock. I use it to lock a small bag I have for medications.Only issue I had were the directions a backwards so it took me a few minutes to figure out why i could not open the side it was telling me to. Once I did, it opens and closes very easily.
great lock for keeping honest people honest
January 12, 2016
this is the 4th TSA master lock I have purchased for my luggage. I travel often and want to keep my stuff mine. These locks work perfectly for that. TSA has special keys that allow them access to these locks while keeping the general public out. Of course... if a thief wants in... they will be able to get in... but it keeps honest people honest.
Great for the Price and Use
April 16, 2014
Arrived on time, in order, and as expected/described. Very simple to use, likewise for the changing of the combination code and durable. This is not the lock used at Fort Knox, so don't expect it to perform in that manner, it is to dissuade those without true criminal tendencies...do not use on back packs or similar luggage because the wire allows for movement and with backpacks etc., a person could open the bag a bit. Otherwise, I use it on my tool boxes etc., and its great.
THIS IS A BASIC TRAVELERS LOCK
September 15, 2012
I traveled to China with this lock on my luggage and it worked exactly how I expected it to. If you are like me, you want to lock you luggage to know that it was not tampered with when you leave it with the flight crew, or leave it all day in a hotel when the cleaners come in. This lock is perfect for those reasons, and it opens and closes quickly and easily. No one expects to buy a luggage lock that cannot be broken, right? Anyone who wants to get into your luggage will just as easily brake the zipper before breaking the lock. I really want a simple way of knowing if someone went into my luggage without permission. That way I can hold the airport or the hotel accountable if it occurred while in their possession. And this lock is perfect for those needs. Plus it was very easy to lock and unlock with no need for holding onto a key. Very good lock. Also it is TSA certified which if you do not know what that means I suggest visiting their site by googling tsa locks; and it is the link that says - TSA: AIR TRAVELPlease let me know if this was a helpful review for you!

Great "J" type plug adapter for use in Switzerland!
July 14, 2017
We used this plug adapter in Switzerland recently and it worked perfectly. There was one situation where the outlet was a wall switch & outlet combination and the fit was about 1/16" to tight....but it worked. Should have taken a picture. I'll use this adapter again on my next visit. Please understand this is a "PLUG" adapter as stated by the seller and not a "Voltage Converter". The voltage is still 220v which is fine for my use as I used the adapter so I could charge my iphone. In a very small font on the plug side of the Apple Charger it say it uses both 220v and 110v. .

Great Price, Worked Fine
August 1, 2016
Very cheaply priced for a 3 pack and worked fine everywhere we went in Italy. Stayed in hotels in Venice, Florence, and Rome and all three locations used the three prong outlet so these were necessary. Just be aware power outlets in Italy use 240V and most US outlets are only 120V. Most phone chargers and modern electronics are capable of running on both 120/240 but if you have any items that are 120V only you cannot use these as they don't convert voltage, they just adapt the outlet to a different plug type. This wasn't a problem as I know how electricity works, but some people don't.
Great plug adapters
November 27, 2015
These plug adapters are simple and solid. When you open the package you know that they are well built. We bought the C, L and I types for our recent trip to Chile and Argentina. They fit snugly into the 220 wall outlet and our 110 volt plugs fit snugly into these adapters. Adapters don't really have to function, they merely allow you to use a 110 volt US blade into a different type of wall outlet. They DO NOT convert the current from 220 to 110. But we needed the ability to plug our myriad of chargers (iPad, phone, camera, etc) into the wall to recharge our devices. Most (probably all) chargers work with 220 volt as well as 110, IF you can plug them in. These adapters allowed us to do just that.
Good Product

Glad I had more than 1 adapter since I could charge laptop, phone and use flat iron at the same time if I had to. Used these adapters in Rome as well as in hotel in Cairo.
Worked perfectly
July 4, 2012
I purchased this package of three for myself, my husband, and my son for our trip to Ireland. The adapters worked perfectly, were simple and small, and even worked with the miniature power strips we brought.

I used this on a trip to Spain and Portugal in May 2016 and it worked great with my professional hairdryer. As is it won't work with the recessed plugs, but if you put a second universal adapter on the end it works great. I wish I would have used it for my curling iron as well-I didn't and it no longer works.
This worked fine in Europe for my wife's 400-Watt curlers set
November 23, 2014
This worked fine in Europe for my wife's 400-Watt curlers set. We were careful to slide the switch from the 50 watts setting to the higher setting. We did hear a very faint hum or buzz, but, after using the curlers set with the converter at least 10 mornings in Switzerland and France, the set was still okay back here in the States. In an apartment in Geneva, Switzerland, we plugged one of our Ceptics Grounded Universal Plug Adapters into an outlet and then plugged this Simran Voltage Converter into the Adaptor and then plugged the curlers cord into the Converter. In France, in a Holiday Inn, we plugged a small plug extension (This Converter comes with one) into an outlet, then plugged this converter into that - no problem.
Works for me!
September 28, 2013
Just finished 30 day trip to Italy, used two different types to do the job, this one cheaper because doesn't have high voltage setting for hair dryers, etc, and found the others weren't necessary as most places in Europe seem to either provide 220 plugs or actually have dryers for guest use. This one worked just fine, kept our phones, Kindle, etc., all well charged. No problems at all... I'd probably rate it 5 stars if I could find it in my heart to LOVE any International Travel Voltage Converter. (OK to like, but what's to love?)
Works for low-current items
August 5, 2010
We took this converter to Europe (Spain, France, and UK) and Turkey recently. I only plugged into it an energizer AA/AAA battery charger (that's the only device I own that is not 110V/220V). The converter worked well and charged the batteries without any trouble (on the LOW setting) and it did not get hot at all.Now for the only drawback that took off 1 star: It is rare to find a plug which accepts this converter as almost all plugs in Europe are are recessed (about an inch inside the wall). That means I had to plug this converter into an adapter which is compatible with the walls (see http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MGUB9Q which I got lucky with as it was a supersaver shipping item when I got it). Now, although the converter does not feel heavy at all, when plugged into an adapter, it tends to pull down on it so that both would fall or get detached from the outlet. I had to resort to creative ways to hold them up attached to the wall by letting them lean on something. Anyway, besides that, I had no trouble, but I really wish the maker would install better plugs on the device.Just to be clear, even if you find non-recessed outlets, this converter has plugs only for European countries other than the UK. You would need an Europe-UK adapter for the UK since the converter would function properly, but would need to be plugged in to UK style outlets. In summary, I'd say have this product WITH a plug adapter at all times.

Essential component for Sportube Box
February 26, 2017
One has to have a cable padlock to hold the 2 halves of the Sportube together in transit but the TSA in the USA always want to open one's ski box to check for contraband so this product fills the bill. The cable is very strong and the only criticism I have is that over 3-4 years use the plastic covering the steel cable has deformed and progressively worn so that it jams in the holes of the sportube box and makes it hard to disengage the cable. I have eventually had to cut away all the plastic and just leave the steel cable.
Good lock for luggage or other zippered items like a tent door
December 18, 2016
Mine happened to be RED not BLUE, but that does not matter to me. Just as expected. Small lock for luggage. I'm actually going to use this for locking a tent door at a campsite (locking the zippers together) as it is a wire mesh lock that is flexible. Works great for that, but certainly would work good for luggage as intended.
Nice little lock for those who want a small deterrent at very modest cost.
December 16, 2015
Very nice little lock. Metal construction, and quite sturdy. My deceased father once told me that locks are for keeping honest people honest. This lock will work for that purpose. The cable is thin and covered in plastic, and will fit nicely in a luggage zipper. I plan to use these to close the two latches on a small handgun case. Understand that the cable could easily be snipped by bolt cutters (or maybe heavy duty scissors).Changing the combination seems to be a little bit tricky, so I have not yet done so. Those who want serious protection might not like this small lock. Those who just want a small deterrent at very modest cost should be pleased.
Master Lock - Cable Luggage Lock
October 13, 2015
This lock is not especially secure. One look at the cable and you can tell that almost any wire cutters could probably demolish it. HOWEVER, you have to think of what a lock really is. A lock like this is merely a deterrent for those that may want to mess with your stuff, the security it provides is hardly a physical barrier, but a psychological hindrance. Any thief worth his salt would be able to break into any lock in this price range, or even above this price range. The purpose of a lock like this is to prevent casual criminals from messing with your stuff. Period.Personally, I backpacked all throughout Southeast Asia for three months without any problem. I love that the cable is flexible and can fit into almost anything. It certainly helps with thousands of different locking situations you could possibly find yourself in. The code is easy to set and change and it's TSA approved. All in all this is a great lock to pick up for around 5 bucks.
Good for Securing Backpacks and Carryon Bags
July 8, 2015
I bought these locks because the loop would fit through the zippers on my backpack and carryon bag. After opening and closing these locks over the course of two weeks, though, I discovered these locks showing signs of wear on the metal latch that hooks into the base. The wear didn't affect the integrity of the lock although it was a little surprising. At first, I was disappointed that these weren't what I considered to be "prison grade" but no lock is impenetrable. For the needed functionality of securing zippers and deterring thieves, however, these locks were perfect. I would recommend this item if you need a TSA approved, light duty lock that will secure zippers on your backpacks and carry on bags. If you need a lock for checked luggage, I would recommend a different lock that alerts you when the TSA had used their key to open your bags.
Good lock
December 28, 2014
Seems to be a nice sturdy lock and the combination is easy to set. I've used two of them once so far, but will be using the 4 I bought on a longer trip soon. Even with TSA locks sometimes they get cut off anyway so I like having extras. (Actually I have had luggage opened with cut off locks and no TSA sticker or message. I contacted the TSA and they said they always leave a notification of some sort and it may have been airline workers snooping around, so be careful what you pack in checked luggage!)I took off one star because you can't choose your colors. It says assorted colors. I ordered 4 and they are all black. Boring. But not important really.

Pretty good--however.
July 30, 2017
This adapter works well. Surprisingly annoying feature, though: There's a blue indicator light that lights up when your adapter is plugged in. OK, so what? you say. Sounds like a nice feature!Well it isn't. The light is crazy, crazy bright. If you try to sleep in a dark room like I do, it will keep you awake. It's like a flashlight, no joke! In hotel rooms, I shared with friends and in hostel rooms when I was backpacking, I always felt guilty about plugging it in. In my hostel, other people would unplug it because it kept them up. I ended up covering it with dark paper and tape, which only sort of worked. If you don't plug it in in your bedroom, or don't care about light levels, I'd definitely recommend it. Otherwise? Better get something to cover up that light.
This products was great for my recent travel abroad
July 23, 2017
This products was great for my recent travel abroad, especially since I visited countries that require different adapters. I really like this product because not only is a compact, but it also has 2 usb ports and another regular plug for all of my technology. So I was able to charge all of my things at once, which is very useful when you're on vacation. I would have given this product 5 stars, but my one concern is that when trying to plug in something in the "universal" port, it was very difficult to go in. I had to forcibly push the plug in with great force in order for it to go in. However, I still think this is an amazing product and I would recommend buying it if you do a lot of traveling or have many things that need to be charged at once.
Useful, works well, but makes strange sound during use
July 9, 2017
Worked great, even though it constantly makes a chirping/squeaking sound when plugged in. Used this all over Europe, and it worked just as if I was in the United States--has 4 USB ports, and 3 outlets, so I could charge 7 devices. But, whether I had 1 device plugged in or 5 devices, this would chirp the entire time it was plugged in. It is also a bit heavy. If you could get past the chirping, this is a very useful thing to have when traveling internationally.
compact and adaptable
March 18, 2017
We took this to northern Europe for a two week trip (stops in Germany and Denmark). This plug worked like a charm. The usb charge points are a nice feature. I wish we had two since we each have a phone and a computer or tablet. Takes a little finesse to get a three prong plug in the plug adapter but once you do it becomes second nature.Follow up: I ended up buying a second one of these chargers since they work well and we both have multiple items to charge.
Got this for my trip to Europe.
March 7, 2016
Works great on most of the wall outlets.3 pieces for this price is a bargain. On some outlets, it's probably just old outlet. Some would not even fit (same pron layout, simply doesn't go in)Some would be hard to plug in, and some would be too loose and falls off. Some plugs in, but doesn't make any contact. These I assume isn't because of this adapter. Just simply things you have to deal with on travel I guess. My only other complain is that it's still a bit too long.Doesn't fit into all the space you try to plug into.
Good, but bulky, adapters, specifically made for Italian grounded plugs
August 9, 2015
This is exactly what you need for Italian grounded plugs. They do not work in Austria or Germany - the third pin hole in outlets in those countries is already filled-in. The multipack is a good value for the money. The only downside is that the plugs themselves are quite large, and carrying more than one takes up a great deal of space in luggage.

Big and bulky, but functional.
March 22, 2017
Definitely functional and does its job, but it's just so BIG. Compared to other voltage converters this thing is super bulky and a hassle to carry around. But it does do what it's supposed to.
Not sure I can recommend.
July 10, 2015
Tried it once in Italy and the overload switch on an 1875 watt hair drier blew. Reset didn't work. I'm not sure whether the problem is with the converter or with the power at the small hotel. But I've had success with our other 1650 watt converters and hair driers all over Europe. The problem is that the new hair drier is 1875 watts. I cut the defective switch off the cord when we got back home. The drier works fine.
Needs better design
August 8, 2014
Definitely got the job done. With my laptop, I had to use the high setting or else it would not charge. It IS very bulky and sometimes it does not fit the design of an outlet- the prongs were appropriate, but the bulkiness of the whole thing sometimes did not allow to plug into some places. It works fine. For the price, good buy.
Gets hot when used for too long
August 12, 2013
I got this because I travel internationally for work. I specifically looked for one that would convert voltage-as plug converters are really cheap but may cause your items to overheat. This worked well, but it didn't convert the voltage as well as I would have liked. When using it with a hair straightener for example, the straightener still gets too hot to use while getting ready. You'd have to plug it in, fix half your hair then unplug it to cool down before finishing.
Converter for travel to Scotland
October 22, 2011
My husband and I recently traveled to Scotland and I bought this converter so I could use it for my hair dryer and my husband needed it to recharge his camera battery. It worked just fine for recharging the battery but I had problems with it while using my hair dryer. It worked for a short time but then my dryer shut off and would not turn back on.Not sure what happened. I really liked the size and weight of this converter.
Works but you need an additional plug extender for it
November 30, 2010
I was kinda annoyed because I specifically asked the retailer prior to purchasing this if the prongs would be long enough to fit into the recessed Euro plugs (since other reviews said it didn't) and they said that it was updated so that it would. But when I tried to use it in Europe the prongs were too short so we had to buy an extender (about $5) for it to fit in the plug. Aside from that, the device worked fine for charging our camera batteries on the low setting.

Easy to open; don't use for air travel
September 25, 2016
Too easy to open. See post in an earlier review about looking through the crack above the numbers and finding the "notch." It works! Also, there is a video on You Tube that shows how to open with a paper clip. Now with this said, I use these locks for when my bag is left in a hotel for the day, not for air travel. TSA doesn't use their key to open these types of locks, they just break the locks; there are plenty of posts across the Internet about this. Using the lock in a hotel room is a deterrent for the casual maid that may go through your things.
Was Removed and Discarded by TSA the first time I used it...
June 11, 2015
My first impression was that the lock itself was a bit flimsy, and in reality it could probably be picked or removed with little effort. Despite this it does at least serve as a deterant if a potential thief wanted to make a quick grab for an iPod, iPad, etc. That being said, my chief complaint is that this lock was removed from my bag and promptly discarded by the airline (TSA) the first time I tried to use it. No notice or note was left. Previous locks that I have used (that were admittedly the wrong type) were at least returned in a small bag attached to the outside of my luggage. I will be trying to get compensated for the lost lock, but this may serve as a warning to others who plan on traveling with this lock attached to their luggage.
Cracka Safe
May 26, 2015
Own more than one o these. Majority of the time no complaints. However, last one bought has an issue. I noticed this when after reLocking it I could not turn the numbers from the opening combination. Upon inspection, there is a metal flap that you must depress down when opening this lock. I noticed my metal flap got stuck in the down position. In this position, you can make the lock appear to be locked, however, unless that flap flips back up, the lock is not locked.Solution, when unlocking view metal flap. If in the downward position, and not up as it should be, a few hits of the lock and the flap springs back up, you can lock the lock and turn the numbers. Not attempted to oil it or any other fix, just figured it was a glitch specific to this lock, not all of them.

March 3, 2015
Its ok. The cable lock mechanism releases by pushing it inward onto itself, thereby unlatching it. This is simple and cheap to make I am sure, but if you have it snugged up on a luggage item with little extra room to spare (and since its on a piece of luggage its likely to be upside down and tough to access) that unlatching can be a lot more difficult to do than when you first tried it out holding it in your hand.
Lock that gives peace of mind yet not as durable as my others
May 15, 2013
We ordered 6 of these to use on our suitcases for our trip to Thailand. We had heard the horror stories of items being placed in your bags and being detained and we didn't want to risk our bags being open.TSA locks are approved by airlines & security so I knew they would be okay at the airport. When we first left for our trip we found it was simple to set with our passcode and hook onto the suitcase zippers. I selected these due to their cheap price (cheapest available on amazon) and the long handle which I thought would make it easier to loop through the zippers on our duffle bags.Initially they worked. However when we arrived in Thailand we then had to transfer from Bangkok to Koh Samui and when we retrieved our bags with the new locks we found that they were already scuffed. So the airline obviously threw our bags and didn't handle them properly but I will admit the locks held up through that offense. Our next stage was a longtail boat to Koh Phangan and when we arrived we found that our locks had sand which collected somehow inside the locking mechanism. So we put wear & tear on the locks; we had a tough trip. They got banged around. On the bright side they worked and didn't directly break. However out of 6, only 2 stayed fully functional. 4 of the locks are definitely challenging to use now. They have scuff marks and difficulty locking now and even turning the dials to input our combination is challenging due to the sand which got trapped inside the lock likely from when our bags were tossed out of the boat and onto the sand of the beach at arrival and departure.

May 31, 2017
One broke the second time I used it. I plugged in my laptop charger and the adapter sparked then made a crackling noise as long as the prongs were still in the adapter. Maybe I just got a faulty one, but it left me stranded with a dead laptop at work.It says there's a lifetime warranty, so I'm in the process of contacting them on their website. I'll update this if/when I hear back.**Edit: I've upper my rating from 1 star to three as I heard back almost immediately, and they sent me new set of three adapters. I was in Germany for the summer and they were sent to my home address in the US, so it didn't help me much this time, and I haven't been able to test the new set yet. But the other two lasted fine for the three months I was there, used almost daily.
Ok for some items
May 14, 2017
Works as described. However, be aware that utilizing this product without a voltage converter will damage high power items such as a hair dryer. Started smoking within seconds of turning on. Works fine for phone charging though. Would recommend investing in a product that also converts voltage....added cost but worth it
Does the job once you get it in the receptacle.
October 6, 2016
Bought two 3-packs of these. They did not fit well into my wall receptacles. The spacing between leads seems to be a little narrow. I forced them into the outlets and just leave them in all the time at my apartment since I have so many of them. They do work fine once you get them into the outlet (won't fall out), of course, they are adapters, so there is no moving parts or anything to really go wrong on them. Again the fit on the "N" side was not good, but the universal side fits fine. Still better construction than most of the ones they sell in the local stores here in Brazil.

The shape of the plug body was good for the recessed outlets in an apartment right in the city of Geneva, but the outside 2 prongs of the 3-prong array were about 2mm too close together - the plug still usable, but I had to force it a little bit into any outlet, and could be pulled out too easily by accident. But, I was able to plug it in first, then plug my Simran Voltage Converter into it, and then plug my wife's curlers cord into the Convertor, and that was convenient - the Adapter here did stay plugged in when not jostled.
Australia plug won't fit in recessed extension cords
September 9, 2013
The adaptor worked fine during my short general use and seems to be sturdily constructed. One issue I encountered with the grounded Australian plug is that it won't fit into the somewhat-common Australian extension leads that have recessed receptacles or "safety skirts", as the corners of the square shaped adaptor butt into the safety skirt, preventing a connection. Do an image search for "australia extension cable" to see what these safety skirts look like and compare them to the Australian adaptor to see how it's like hammering a square peg into a round hole. Of course, in most hotel situations you'd find yourself plugging into a power strip or outlet where the plug fits without problem, but you might be better served by purchasing an adaptor with a circle instead of square shape at the prongs, e.g.,SF Cable, 3 prong Power Plug Adapter, Australia to NEMA 5-15R (not an endorsement of that product in particular, but it shouldn't have the aforementioned problem).

Useless in France
August 23, 2016
Completely useless in France, where the sockets have not only two holes for the plug prongs, but a male prong that protrudes from the socket, presumably for grounding. Since this converter doesn't have a hole to receive the prong, it won't fit into the socket! Fortunately, I also brought a plug adaptor (not a converter) that did fit into the socket and allowed me to use this converter with my low wattage appliances. Without the adaptor, this product would have been useless.
HEAVY
May 9, 2016
This thing weighs way too much for backpacking. It weighed about a quarter of what the rest of what I was bringing on a month-long trip weighed. This is not ideal for travel, which is too bad, because it's for travel.
It died after 2 mounts...so....
June 17, 2013
....at first it had some strange smell when I pluged it in and start using it, like burning dust or something , but it still worked with my hairdryer. One day my hairdryer stoped working and smoke came out from the converter and it start smelling so strong....so...im still looking for a good convertor. I live in Europe,Serbia and i had to get convertor in order to use american hairdyer. I'm sad about it, because that particular hairdryer made my hair very silky and i can easily say beautiful:( and this convertor messed it up:( One more thing....with this hairdryer it took me "all" seven (7) minutes to dry my long straight hair, so I can't say that I was overusing the convertor and it died because of over heating or over working. I gave it 2 stars because it worked for the short time and my hair looked good for that short period:( but i would give it "non" star.
Cheap converters
June 3, 2013
Ok, they are not your typical converters as you must use the appliance (hair dryer or high power device) at full strength or it will damage the converter or appliance. It expects a certain amount of current (watts) to be used. It's ok for that purpose, but haven't had enough time with it to see how long it will perform.Certainly not expensive and worth having around if you travel. A true high power converter would be extremely heavy and expensive so this is a good alternative.
not very good.
October 25, 2012
I live in South Korea and have a few 110 volt items that are still used. our house is wired dual voltage 110 and 220 but when traveling around the country an adapter is necessary. I have a large transformer that works great but it is heavy 20lbs or so. This small transformer would be perfect if it worked. When plugged into a 220 volt outlet and set on high amperage output it works with a large load like a hair dryer, but the fan runs very slow and the heat output is reduced. I don't believe it is capable of doing what it is advertised to do. I haven't tried to use the low output setting but since most low amperage devices these days will run on anything from 90 to 240 volt input there is no need. The only advantage over my large transformer is size and weight. Otherwise it is not very useful.
Not for electronics that consume over 50 watts
February 3, 2011
I purchased this converter last spring (for a study abroad program in Germany and travel throughout Europe), when there were very few reviews and no warnings from the supplier about limiting the converter to use with electronic equipment consuming under 50 watts (Low setting). It didn't say that there were two settings; just a dash between the 50 and 1875 watts in the description. I am glad to see that the product description now says: * Do not use with Hair Straightners, kitchen appliances, power tools, computers or TVs.See the Product Review by "NLee the engineer" for the same converter (packaged with multiple plug adapters) for a technical explanation:http://www.amazon.com/1875K-WORLDWIDE-CONVERTER-50W-1875W-COUNTRIES/product-reviews/B000WU8XAM/ref=dp_db_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1I wish I had seen this review before I spent my money on this converter, and expedited shipping! The converter was not used (thankfully the above review was discovered before using the converter), but by the time the converter was back in the USA, it was too late to return it. As others have recommended, check your electronic equipment manuals, or the power bricks that come with each, to see if the equipment is rated for 240V and 50-60HZ. If so, get a 240v 50-60Hz surge protector power strip that is rated for the wattage that you need, or simply use plug adapters if no surge protection is needed. Fortunately, the computer, digital camera, cell phone, and iPod that needed power on the trip were all rated for 240V 50-60Hz, so they were able to be used with plug adapters, but the 110V travel surge protector I had purchased could not be used to protect them.

I bought this lock after reading all the good reviews. I will say that it's pretty sturdy ...
January 31, 2016
I bought this lock after reading all the good reviews. I will say that it's pretty sturdy and the flexible cable makes things convenient. The issue I had with this lock is when I wanted to reset the combination. The instructions stated that the lock could be opened using the preset lock combination. After struggling with it for about half an hour, I found another review here about how to break into this lock using a flashlight and the cracks above the numbers. Turns out the preset combination was wrong on the instructions and I found it unsettling that I opened this lock without the combo in less than 30 seconds. It's too late for me to get another lock, but if you want something a little more secure, look somewhere else.
Keep wiggling and hope you can set the new code.
May 27, 2015
The locking mechanism of this Master Lock 4688D is not firm enough. You have to wiggle in the steel wire (covered with plastic) in and out of the lock. Just not sturdy enough.I bought 4. when setting the new code for one it didn't set to the right #. Became useless to me. Would not buy again.
Three out of 6 purchased bad out of container.
February 11, 2015
Bought six of these..based on reviews. Read instructions carefully, First lock, the button would not reset at all. Set the combo as described, would not close. Worseless. Opened the second, thinking it was just defective. This one EXTREMELY difficult to set combination. Once set, again would not close. Very difficult to hold button down and set three numbers, who are difficult to move anyway. Afraid to try the rest. Will never buy again. Based on reviews, it seems 1 out of four never work. It's sad because the thing looked good, but no quality whatsoever. Be warned. EDIT,,opened the next 4 got three to work, the fourth works but I do not trust it. So out of 6, 3 failed. It's not hard to set up when they are GOOD, they work well when they work, but that the reason for the rating. Some just don't.
Cable fatigue ended my lock after three months.
November 7, 2014
Negative experience for me. Planned use was a visual deterrence for bag pickpockets on a day pack I use, and it worked as such for a brief period. After three months (4-6 open/locks per day, simple city use, no vigorous activity) of use in such a manner, I noticed the cable fibers 80-90% broken on the end that you connect. Only a few more days until only one fiber was left, and it was no longer safe to use. Out of sheer curiosity, I bent the other end (that stays connected to the lock's body) back and forth to see how long the cable fatigue would last. About 15-20 seconds. In my opinion, not fitting of the Master brand name.
dear lock: it's just not working between us
August 30, 2013
not happy with the design.- the flexible cable slips out of the zipper pull from its own weight when I unlock it, and it ends up on the floor!- you have to slide the cable to the side in the slot when you lock/unlock it, which I find awkward and fumbly (and I'm fairly dextrous.)- the dial has to be on the code both to unlock AND LOCK it. But the dial can move when it's unlocked w/ cable out, so you must set the code before you can put the cable back in - very annoying, and I don't remember this with other locks. On the plus side, the quality was fine, it stayed locked, and I didn't have any problems setting the code. I just find regular metal shank locks much easier, and would never buy this style again.
Be Cautious - They're Mixed Colors!
December 8, 2012
I didn't realize I could be getting any color when I ordered these, so be careful. Also - just worth noting. On the first trip I used these on, the TSA just cut them off rather than unlocking and relocking them - which basically means I threw my money out. I talked to the airline about it, and though I don't trust them either, they told me that it's common for the TSA to just cut off these types of locks because it takes less time then opening the locks.I'm going to look for something that can't be easily cut off - force them to take the time and to follow procedure in the future... TSA sucks!

Needs better design.
October 4, 2017
My complaint with this product is the overall design. Iā€™ve now taken it with me to two continents and 8 countries and while Iā€™ve never had an issue with it working the design leaves a lot to be desired. Because if the design it is too heavy and sometimes falls out of the wall socket. I have had to use night stands/end tables and even once a chair to securely place it in the wall to charge my items.
Not the best... Far from it.
June 27, 2017
Low quality adapter... The internal metal is off by few mm... And get stuck all the time.I dont think im going to take a chance with a 3000 USD laptop on this flimsy adapter that might explode or catch fire.No snug fit no go.The new types of adapter are suppose to be much better... Ceptics just disappointed me...The new Wonpro/eurapra 4th generation are marketed as the best universal adapters in the world...And by the Israeli si 32 standard the plugs needs to be 4.4mm and not 4.1mm round pins.
Slightly noisy at times.
April 18, 2017
Meh... This sometimes makes noise, so I had to use it in another room from where I slept. Wasn't impressed, very heavy and I think most electronic appliances don't actually need them anymore.
There's Probably a Better Adapter Out There
March 8, 2017
not the best or very reliable as are most of these adapters. I recommend shelling out a bit more money and getting something else if you are going to be relying on this.
Standard not exactly respected
February 8, 2017
So, I must say I was quite surprised by this product. I was expecting it to have the right dimensions to fit into the hole sockets I have at home. Unfortunalely, it is short by a couple of milimeters to fit in perfectly and, so, it sticks out quite a bit (not too much to be unusable but still). I also tried to fit it in normal sockets, just to see it wouldn't go all the way in because the plug diameter is slightly bigger near the plastic. All in all, quite disappointed about this product since it doesn't actually respect the Type J standards.
Not for iPad
September 13, 2013
The iPad requires 2100 mA. This provides only 1000 mA, i.e., enough for an iPhone. iPad will charge very slowly. On the other hand, criticism that it does not fit into English plug is somewhat misplaced. It is not grounded, so has no third peg. You can use it if you jam the lower hole, which locks out the other two.

Do NOT Buy
September 3, 2017
Crappiest product ever! I purchased 4. The first time I used it with my coffee machine I heard a pop and it stopped working. I assumed it was my coffee machine and tossed it. Later I had a different appliance plugged in with a second one and i heard the same pop - turns out it was the converters blowing. My coffee machine was fine. The other 2 melted. These are the crappiest converters ever and a complete waste of money.
Did not work
May 10, 2017
This product did not work at all. It was purchased for use on a mission trip to Kenya, and it was not functional (not much I could do it about it then). Unfortunately, we did not return from the overseas mission trip until the exact day that the "return window" closed. If the seller sees this and would like to extend their return policy, it would be appreciated.
does not work on hair iron, or hair blow dryer, or curler or anything with high wattage.
July 19, 2016
this product will not work on hair dryers or hair iron. for ipods and small electronics yes but nothing with high wattage. i bought this for my wife to travel to portugal and when she got there, her hair iron would not work in the hotel so she ended up with frizzy hair until we got a hotel that had 120v socket for her to use her hair iron\straightener.
Didn't transmit and power & Ruined hair straightener
July 10, 2014
I purchased this for a Euro-trip. Did not work for me and I tried to use it on simple/dual voltage products first like my iPad charger, iPhone charge - it didn't submit any power to the plug. Then I tried using it with my hair dryer, which didn't work. Finally, I tested out my Chi hair straightener, as the product advises not to do, and it RUINED my straightener. However, my other charging devices and hair dryer weren't ruined. My straighter simply won't turn on anymore. This product didn't work as a converter or adaptor. I've noticed a lot of other reviews say how heavy this product is, it's small, but dense for it's size.I wouldn't recommend this product, and in the end all it did was add dead weight to my bag. Do not buy this product if you're looking for an adaptor - get the 6-pack adaptors that worked great!
Fried every appliance plugged into it
September 18, 2012
I tried to use two items with this converter in France- a UV nail lamp and my Braun toothbrush charger. Neither of these items are the heavy-duty usage sort of appliances, such as a hair straightener or a hair dryer might be.The first time I plugged the nail UV lamp into this product, it completely fried (smoke, flash, etc. and had to be thrown away) and the second time I used the product it didn't charge my toothbrush at all. I have had to purchase a transformer here in Paris, which I am now trying to use with my toothbrush charger. The transformer I purchased in Paris does work (when I tested it with other items) but the toothbrush charger does not, forcing me to conclude that the Simran International Travel Voltage converter has fried everything that has been plugged into it. Mind you, these products worked perfectly in the US immediately preceding our trip.Do yourself a favor, and purchase a transformer instead of this so-called "converter," either through Amazon, or in your destination country. I paid 29 euros for a transformer that works at Darty, a national electronics chain here in France; they are available other places too. Yes, a transformer is more expensive than this product, but at least you won't have to buy new appliances once they have been ruined by the Simran product.
Ugh

DO NOT BUY. I had this device in italy and it literally melted in 20 min of charging an iPad.

Poor usability. Buy something else
September 24, 2015
The numbers are small. The combination wheel is small and hard to turn to the correct number without affecting the adjacent wheel. You need to get the numbers in precisely the correct position. The numbers are very low contrast foreground to background. The number font is poor. It is difficult to tell numbers apart. For instance, 6's and 8's are very hard to tell apart. Overall it is very difficult to use for something so simple. The lock itself is useful. Just don't expect to open it in 15 seconds or less. At least I can't.

August 19, 2015
If I could give this lock a "0" I would! From the time I opened it, we could not get it to work. We followed the directions and it would not open so we obviously couldn't put our own code in. After trying several times we decided it didn't matter if we did get it open to put on our luggage because if we put it on, we may not be able to get the lock open!We were out of town when it arrived and then did't try it for about a month. By that time it was too late to return. Just Junk!
Terrible Product.
July 3, 2015
Followed the instructions to change the combination as soon as I got it. It did not work and now it's essentially useless. I just spent an hour going through every combination/permutation of the 3 numbers I chose and it still doesn't work. Worst part is that there is no serial number (new Master Lock policy), so I can't the universal combination from the company.

January 21, 2015
Bought this lock, set my combo, used it for a few weeks, all was well, and then......it refused to open. At all. No matter what I did. It had opened and closed fine probably 20 times between when I first got it and that point. So I smashed it with a hammer to break it open. A waste of 7 dollars, but seeing such a cheap piece of garbage get smashed is it's own reward.Won't be buying this again.

Very disappointed
October 22, 2017
I was very disappointed, I purchased this for my trip to China as it is suppose to work there, but it doesnā€™t, it has the angled prongs but does not plug into the outlet and I tried several times, luckily my room mate had a converter that worked.
Weighs a lot! Not practical to carry it.
October 21, 2017
Am returning this adapter/voltage converter. Never used it, because it weighs as much as a brick. We used the much smaller adapter without a voltage converter, and had no problems.
Hope everyone else has a better experience with it
October 9, 2017
Bought to use for a trip overseas. Product was quite un-usable as I was unable to plug my regular USA 3-pin plug into the contraption! Try as I may, the USA plug would not insert into the Travel Plug. At that point the other converter plug pin arrangements on it were of no relevance. So overall, the product was not useable. The manual was printed in microscopic font and had limited instruction. Certainly nothing about how to initially plug in a USA plug into it if special steps were required. Alas, my money was not spent well on this product at all. Not all purchases end well all the time - understood. But this one 'hurt' in my travels. Hope everyone else has a better experience with it.

I bought these for my trip to China. I just plugged in the adapter into the wall outlet in China...and the ENTIRE PLUG SPARKED AND BURST INTO FLAMES!!! My entire room blacked out and I was left in the dark. DO NOT BUY THESE. DANGEROUS! I would like an immediate refund!

These adapters did not work. The receptacles in our hotels were round and these square adapters did not fit flush with the receptacles. We tried one and it created a spark so we were never able to use them at all!
