Side by Side Comparison of: GUND vs Wild Republic

So cute, fluffy and soft. When it first comes out of the box, the directions say you will to shake and fluff it out. I did and it looks and feels wonderful. The girl receiving it really liked it, I almost wanted to keep it for myself!

My niece and nephew received these from us for Christmas, and loved them. They're -incredibly- soft and huggable, and very nice quality. The kids loved them, and my daughter and I were sad to let them go and plan to get our own. ;)

Purchased it as part of a shower gift for my niece who is expecting her first baby on Mother's Day. Soft, fluffy and will be great for grabbing around the neck and dragging everywhere once the baby is mobile! Gotta love a Gund!

Bought Philbin for a daughter of a friend and the little girls eyes just opened wide. Well worth the money for that special little one or that special lady in your life. That was Philbin 2. There super soft and just have a wonderful expression. My wife travel for work and Philbin gets stuck going as cargo. He has held up very well. He is a year old and still looks brand new. Yes he is 12 too 1 inch sitting down, but his full length is 18 inchs.

This bear is so cute, soft, and cuddly. He has long arms that can 'wrap' around you so the hug is mutual. :) The tag on him was from teddyneedsabath.com so I assume he can be laundered in a bag which is great. I also use him to place over my ears and eyes in the morning when the sun (or kids) are up but I need a bit more shut eye. Philbin is great. I recommend him to anyone who loves teddy bears.

This will be "our" second Philbin. I wrecked the wife's first one, lol. This one is just as soft and cuddly as the first. When I first bought this, I wasn't totally sure where the 18" measurement was being taken (it's head to toe, laying down). It's a great size for a baby.. and probably the best part, it's durable! Just don't put it in the dryer, or it'll come out crispy-feeling. Low heat seems to melt the ends of the fuzz. Lesson learned!

I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend who lives out of state. Sloths are her favorite animal, so of course I knew what I wanted to give her, but not many places sell sloth stuffed animals. Finding it on Amazon was a dream come true, and having purchased quality Wild Republic plushies before, I knew this was going to be a homerun. It shipped right to her door, and she was thrilled with it.

This is a stuffed animal version of a three toed sloth. It is well made. I move it slowly around my house. Everyone loves it.

It's shaggy and cute in the best way. I gave my daughter a book for Christmas and put this little guy inside the box holding the book. What a cute presentation and he's just so lovable. Can't beat it for the price. There was some tape in the fur, but I think it was to give it the effect of being matted and messy...like a sloth. My daughter has since pinned it up on her curtain rod, so he's hanging upside down like the real deal. Would purchase again and highly recommend this plush for sloth-lovers.

His name is Clarence. He likes UFC fights and uses moderately foul language. He is one hell of a dancer, and he thinks they started mailing it in staring in season 2 of "Lost"...just like me.

The one i received doesn't look exactly like the one on the picture...the "fur" on top of his head looks like it was burnt then cut to remove the burnt parts. just adds to his character, in my opinion, but it may be an issue for some people....my version looks a little bit like Wolverine from the older comics.

He has a beanbag in his butt to help him sit up straight. his hands do not have velcro or magnets, although someone with a modicum of sewing skill could make that happen easily if so desired.

the eyes and nose are hard plastic. everything else is soft. the "fur" could shed, especially if played with frequently and/or vigorously, but it's not an issue for me.

now looking for a different sloth plush toy...Clarence needs a lady friend.

I received the sloath for my birthday as a gift from my boyfriend. Being an avid stuffed animal collector, I have collected quite a zoo in my 30 years on this planet. "Great! Another one for the collection!" I thought as I tore open the plastic packaging for my new sloth friend. Days later, things started to change....
Our first night together, he asked to borrow my car. Thinking nothing of it, I gave him the keys to my Mini Cooper and expected him back in a few minutes. Maybe he needed something from the store he was embarrassed to ask me for in his new home. Boy, was I wrong.
I received a drunken phone call from him around 3 am, telling me he had "lost my car but found a place to crash" and that he would see me in the morning. My boyfriend and I drove around the city for hours looking for a trace of him or my car with no avail.
The next day sloth showed up on my lawn, drinking from an open bottle of peach schnapps, slurring his speech, waving my debt card wildly as he proceeded to pass out on my lawn. I dragged him inside and waited for him to come to. 9 hours later, somewhat sober, he explained he had drained my bank account on belly shots and "girls" the night before.
Long story short, I never did find my car or get the money back he stole, but there is one undeniable truth in all of this: he is really cute. 100% would buy again.

For granddaughter

I bought this for a friend who is very nervous during wind storms, and sent it to her for comfort. She was delighted with it.

It's great, other than the fur is a little tickly. We got another bear slightly bigger for hugging and it does not tickle at all. I doubt a kid would complain about it. 10/10 presentation, 10/10 durability, 8/10 snuggles.

I bought the jumbo. 29 inch. it's med size. nothing wrong with it .just wish it came a little bigger. soft,great material and sturdy. great gift***but over priced.

My order arrived on time and in excellent condition. I ordered the bear as a gift for my 2 year old great nephew. He loved it and gave it a big hug when he unwrapped his gift. This teddy bear is just the right size and texture for a small child. Philbin bear is soft and squishily huggable with a very cute expression.

Looks super weird in person, but I bought it for my girlfriend because she really wanted a sloth plush for valentine's day, so I surprised her and got it for her birthday which is a few weeks after valentine's day (and about a month after she stopped harping on about how much she wanted it). I was worried at first, because the pictures on the store page makes it look way more adorable and fluffy than it actually is, but she loved it nonetheless. For the price, it's good. And it served my purpose!!

This toy it's a little smaller than I thought (15,75 Inches head to toe and 19,6 inches arm lentgh), very soft to the touch although its probably not a good idea to machine wash (the fibers come off easily). The stich work on the face is asymmetrical and wouldn't recommend it for a kid to use as a toy because doesn't look very resistant to everyday use. I give it 4 stars because its cute and as a display toy looks great.

Meet Gomer and Pyle. These two lovely sloths came to live with my daughters (as well as their Wild Republic red pandas, Rusty and Ginger) a few weeks ago. We are all animal enthusiasts at our house and let our interests lead our learning about the creatures we see on TV and at the zoo. Since the girls don’t like to share, we typically buy things in pairs, as we did this time with the sloths. Because I wasn’t sure of which to purchase after reading the varying reviews, answers to questions, and descriptions of two seemingly similar sloths on Amazon, I ordered one of each: The “Wild Republic Cuddlekin Three Toed Sloth 12" Plush” (item http://amzn.to/1Pn3xmG) and the “Wild Republic Hanging 3 Toed Sloth” (item http://amzn.to/1P1MIdo). Here’s my own assessment of these two guys:

Meet Pyle. He’s not too happy. Pyle’s scowling face effectively portrays his jealousy of his brother’s long arms. It’s easy to tell which one is Pyle when looking at my pictures: dark brown eyes, short arms, sour smile, big nose (and possibly legs for arms?). He also lacks the ability to independently hug anything. I may just do some minor surgery to correct this disability. Maybe he can learn to smile after that. He’s really still just as soft and cuddly as his brother though.

Now meet Gomer. He’s as laid back and happy as a Three-Toed Sloth comes. Gomer tries to cheer his brother, Pyle, up daily by wrapping his long arms around him and holding on tight. He seemed really happy while hugging me for a quick photo. He has a smaller nose than Pyle and his eyes are lighter brown in color. For almost the same Prime price, Gomer definitely delivers more cheer.

- Side note: Neither momma or creature was impressed with the NG nonfiction book “Swing, Sloth!”. It was more a picture book about the rain forest with only 3 pages of sloth pictures and very little information. To NG’s credit, it is labeled as a pre-reader. The cover photo and title were just misleading.

I'm 25 and I love my fuzzy sloth, my cat loves it even more, dragging it all over my house. The only thing that I found a bit odd is that his fur is sewn in in some places (he's got a bit of a bald spot on his head) and has hard plastic as though it was melted. You have to pull really hard to remove the hard bits so I don't think it's any kind of hazard, just a little weird.

Stoked to have this guy, glad I got him for cheaper than he was around Christmas. My sister is sloth-obsessed and I plan to give him to her. I think she'll flip out. he's pretty cute, but not quite as cute as the picture. For everyone who is complaining that his legs are sewn on backwards, wake up! Its a sloth, he hangs upside-down from a tree all day. Have you ever seen a sloth in real-life? Their legs really are sewn on backwards.

Came with hole under arm where sewing was far from par.

Is really awesome, toddler sized, my boy just liked the skinny toothpick one better.

This was a gift. It's very soft and is already loved. The only problem is that it came with few stains.

The bear is adorable and my daughter loves it. Only issue is that it came with a tear under one arm. My daughter wants me to repair it so I can't send it back and cannot contact the seller for some reason!

When I the bear, he was wrapped up in a little ball and his head did not want to stand up by itself. I tried to move the stuffing and sit him down for a couple of days in one position to get him how I wanted. Ultimately, the bear was a gift and they admire it. It's very soft, medium size, and very cute.

Pros: super cute, love look of the true-ish shaggy sloth like fur, nice price point, excellent packaging, & the child who received this plushie as a gift adores it.

Cons: immediately started shedding its fur, course feeling on several seamed areas which makes it feel scratch and deters from the snuggle desired factor, large stitch protruding near one eye which shouldn't show at all. Keeping the item but will look for another brand of higher quality next time.

My son is obsessed with sloths and he loves this one but it sheds like crazy! And he's only 11 months so he tries to eat the fuz! I am going to try to wash it to see if it will shed it a bit. Our couch was covered in the fuz with in like 20 min of him having it. But he absolutely loves it so it is worth it.

I adored it...the length of its arms, and face are very cute BUT THE SMELL is close to TOXIC... I febreezed it ( should have returned it), as it was a gift I could not give it with that "sloth scent #5"...well my puppy got it, and that was it...I am hoping I just got a rare SMELLY SLOTH !!

This fellow deserves 5 stars for adorable and fluffy, but I need to average this out to 3 because, before sending it on to my granddaughter, I had to thoroughly brush it, several times, as a lot of that fluffiness included loose material. Not a good idea for little ones who put things in their mouths. (Notice that the page does indicate a choking hazard for those under 3 years old.) Buy it, but brush it!

Very cute, soft, and a good size. However, I just opened his packaging and something seems to have laid eggs (or something...) in his hair. Super gross.

I'm not too happy with this bear. I noticed a small tear in its arm and it's bugging me now that I know it's there & the weird part is that it feels rough as if it's been burned, even though I know it wasn't-just for the sake of explaining its texture.It feels the same on the hair at the end of its left ear. Besides the texture the hair on the same ear falls apart by the slightest pull-petting it even! So mad.I got it for my friend for Valentine's Day but at this point I'd just say to go to a pharmacy or store.. this teddy is too small and not made careful enough to be this cost.

This bear is really cute and a good size. My son has been living on it for three weeks. The stuffing is insufficient for the bear. His neck has no stuffing and so his head lolls around unsupported. He no longer sits in the cute pose but falls over. His arms as well have insufficient stuffing. Cute but wouldn't buy again.

This bear is very adorable and soft however it is very floppy. If the kids wanted to dress it I think it would be very difficult to keep the clothes on the bear. For the money I would look for something else.

The pictured displayed with the bear sitting is actually 9" in height. You get the 12" when you stretch the legs straight in a 'standing' position. If you want a bear with 12" in sitting position, this bear is not for you.

I was so excited to get this bear looking at the picture.......HOWEVER...It's really nothing to talk about. The bear hardly has any ears! Disappointed!

Good - I got what I ordered.Bad - some tag was missing. It's seems small thing, but it might be return items even though I paid for new one.

So Cute! Daughter LOVED it! BUT... There must have been some manufacturing issue because the "fur" on the top of the head appeared "burned" and not attached properly, there were hard pieces in an otherwise super soft stuffed animal. To remove the hard pieces, the poor guy would have half the "fur" removed on his head. Super disappointed!!!

I gave this as a gift to a friend, and she loves it. But when I received it, it was shedding tufts of hard fur. It wasn't made very good.

The craftsmanship and quality of material used in the construction of this product is downright horrendous. This poor sloth looks as though it's contracted mange and it's nose so crooked he appears to be the victim of a hit and run, and lastly the arms which seem to have been sewn on backwards. Complete waste of money you'd get better quality from a claw machine... I will not be buying any Wild Republic products again.

Super cute but there is burnt/melted fur on the top of his head and around the face. It feels like something is in the fur but the ends are black like they were burned. Some of the fur was falling out.

it keeps losing its hair

Horrible material.. Cute toy. Feels horrible to touch.

The materials used are disgusting. Not the finest of fabrics, not highly detailed, and not perfect for cuddling. Fur is sticky yet sheds and is not attached in many places. Pay a little extra and get the other Jelly brand!

Fur falls out, weird sticky glue things in the fur. feels old and cheap. Cute though! and my daughter loves it. but as many other people are saying, fur falling out and glue stuck in the fur.

This is a piece of (insert bad word of choice here). The fur was falling out right when I got it and there was weird stuff in the fur like glue or burned plastic stuck all over. It's cute in the picture but not suitable to buy as a gift for yourself never mind a friend or child...not even a dog.
