Side by Side Comparison of: Meguiar's vs Viking

This is one of the best waxes I have ever used. It goes on nicely, and comes off with far less effort than some other paste waxes I have used. I use this on my daily driver as well as my 1975 Plymouth Duster, and will buy it again when I run out. This wax has good durability/longevity on my daily driver. As with most paste waxes, use caution to avoid getting it on vinyl or rubber areas as it will leave white residue behind, but on paint, this product is excellent.

I actually purchased this wax to protect my polished nickel hardware at my house. It was recommended by a hardware specialist. I used it for the first time this week and it really made the metal smooth to the touch. This isn't used to shine the hardware (that's a separate step) but for overall protection in order to make the shine last and I thought it worked great. I'm sure there are many other uses for this car wax besides just using on cars. Perhaps other customers can share their insights!

This is a wonderful product to use after using rubbing compound. I have now 8 coats of this wax on my 2016 car and it shines like the paint you see on "OVERHAULING". People come up to me and say WOW what kind of car is that! It is a very shiny Toyota Avalon. I wax it often because I truly enjoy the car and enjoy seeing it just beam.

I use this on my guitar. Provides a shiny coat with great protection. Helps keep fingerprints off and general grunge from playing. I have another can for my car. There are some better for car and guitar but most are cost prohibitive, way too expensive

Excellent wax! I quit detailing//waxing my cars my cars years ago, but decided to pay attention again with this latest. First used some (old) Turtle Wax I had lying around and it performed as expected....a bit of a pita to wipe off and with residue. Bought this stuff sorta on a whim coupled with a desire to move into the current century and I'd been happy with Meguiar's before. Great stuff...Easy on, easy off, nice finish, and no having to clean residual product out of cracks with a tooth brush like in the old days. Quite happy.

Very good high shine. Time will tell on durability.

Creates a very nice shine, water beads up nicely from it. Only complaint is that the applicator can get almost over saturated without realizing it quite quickly.

I apply this after a thorough wash and a claybar rubdown. Use as directed and the shine is excellent. Durability is good. Expect to consume one or two microfiber cloths in the buffing process.I also apply this to my alloy wheels. Wash thoroughly, then apply two coats. Nothing protects wheels very long, but two coats of this does a decent job.

I use this for cleaning the fingerprints off of my brushed nickel faucet and shower apparatus. It works.

Goes on easily but does not last a full season.

A little dry going on really a 3.5 star. expected a little creamier consistency from Meguirs.

I bought the Ultimate liquid wax after trying this once. I don't like how the paste dries and if you miss any on the vehicle it gets hard to remove and unsightly until you catch it later. It is easy on and relatively easy off, but not easily off if you should miss any of it.

Easy to apply and take off. Time will tell how the wax will hold up.

A little hard to remove, some residues in the car!

Just your basic carnauba paste wax. Leaves a white streak on all non-metal surfaces. I am going to use the synthetic polymer wax next time. White streaks are too annoying to look at and difficult to avoid.

This is a moderate quality wax. Goes on easy, smells great too... But it does not last, meaning the water beading after a new wash starts to fade quickly. Could be the water in my area (Northeast) or the rain. I've gone back to my old standard, Gliptone Carnauba paste wax (blue can). The beading, shine, and durability are incredible.

I dont understand the hype.It smells good but did not make a significant or lasting coat.

Big fan of meguiars products normally, but this wax left an oily residue that was hard to buff out.

I just want to say that most Meguiar's products are wonderful, but something went wrong with this one... On arrival everything seemed fine, however, on opening the package there was what looked to be leaked wax on the sides and I attributed this to another can of wax perhaps having leaked onto this one (because there was no leaked product anywhere else in the shipping box). Unfortunately, on opening the container, 2/3 of the wax had apparently leaked out but was nowhere to be found. since the Meguiar's box it came in was still factory sealed I can only attribute this problem to the product itself and not mishandling by shipping...I am very disappointed

This car wax packaging did not fail to disappoint me. When I opened the box that it came in, the car wax was already opened. The car wax spilled all over the box. I even had other products shipped with it and the car wax got all over them. The box itself was perfectly fine, so please add better packaging around the wax container itself so no one else has to go through this!

The stars were not for the product but for the condition I got it in. The lid of the box was open and the wax has pretty much dried up inside.

Junk, save your money. I was very disappointed

Tried to contact the seller. Purchased these 5 bars twice... First batch work amazingly and the second batch left car feeling as if nothing changed. Very disappointed.

If I hadn't used Meguiar's products before and wasn't aware of the superior results, I'd be real pissed. Product rating/results is 5 star, but shipping/packaging and possible degraded product makes me rate WHAT I RECEIVED 1 star.I know it's summer and shipping trucks get hot but the product arrived leaking wax out of the sides of the tin. Opening it, the wax looked like a pound of butter left out in 100 degree sunlight for 6 hrs. Not just liquid but it had even clarified. Spent 10 minutes stirring the contents back to an uniform consistency. Even after sitting in an air conditioned room for several days, it never returned to paste. I still have liquid wax in a wide leaky tin that's now harder to apply to the applicator. And if it slips out of my hands, it'll make a huge mess. Think I'll look for an applicator bottle to pour it in -- at least it will be less messy dispensing it.BUT TRUSTING MY PAST EXPERIENCE with Meguiar's products I nevertheless used it because it was for a project that I wasn't sure even not degraded paste would work. I know enough to apply a very thin layer. Normally, by the time I'm done one section, rest a minute, the starting point has already turned to a white haze. Have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes. Maybe because it melted, the wax did degrade as I had to wait overnight for the "goop" I received to turn into a dry haze ready for buffing. If my product is NOT defective I have no idea who would wait overnight to finish waxing a car. But again, I can't complain about the results as once buffed, flawless shine.SO WHY WOULD I WAIT OVERNIGHT? My use of this product is unique. Am using it indoors to restore the shine on jet black expensive filing cabinets that have been dulled by being cleaned by who knows how many different cleaning products. I first had all the built up crud removed using plain drug store rubbing alcohol, damp wiped with hot water, let dry and then applied the Meguiar's. So I could afford to wait overnight.Tried a small area first before doing the full job. Result: the cabinets have a brand new mirror-like shine. What you may think is even stranger, I also had the kitchen stainless appliances waxed. Flawless finish and best part, finger prints wipe off easily with just a damp cloth, no need to nightly wipe down every appliance surface.I can get my cars professionally detailed for $100 in my office garage (they too use Meguiar's) while at my desk without wasting a weekend afternoon. But without that option & my intended use, I would've trashed the product I received and not risked it on an expensive car. My filing cabinets have a brand new shine but they're indoors out of direct sunlight. Have no idea if I applied the degraded wax to a car, if bright sunlight would show less than perfect results.Still next time, I'm going to buy local rather than risk receiving another tin of goop. If I order paste, I expect to get paste.
