The large expandable BV Bicycle Strap-On Bike Saddle Bag
July 21, 2017
This bag has some nice features. đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘ŤI have the large, I like that it is expandable up to 6 inches high, has dual zippers with (with thumb tabs sewn into the bag at the bottom of each zipper, a key hook or clip and mesh pocket to secure your keys but I wish the mash pocket was a little deeper, nice 3M Scotchlite reflective stripes on both sides and rear, loop for light on rear.I am using the large BV bicycle bag on a 1995 Trek 750 hybrid bike with a Serfas Full Spring Suspension saddle. If you have a road bike with a very small saddle or any bike with your saddle set down low you might need to get the medium expandable size.In my comment section I have all that I carry in the bag.Iphone 6 plus and or 7 plus will fit, as well as the Samsung note 3 or 5, S7 edge or if you're like me your 6 inch by 3 inch prepaid Tracfone will fit. This bag seems fine on longer group rides. Item Dimensions are 8 inch long x 4 inch wide at rear x 4.8 inches high at rear of bag and expandable to 6 inches high.If you want a more stylish slightly better quality and a tad smaller in the large size bag for everyday rides check out the BV Bicycle Y-Series Strap-On Bike Saddle Bag / Bicycle Seat Pack Bag, Cycling Wedge with Multi-Size OptionsMore information in my comments. Thanks for taking the time to read my review...Campjeep( Picture is of the medium)
Size small is perfect for fitting essentials
September 26, 2015
Hoping this review will be helpful to others, as I wish I could have found a similar review when I made my purchase. For starters, I am reviewing in BV saddle bag in SIZE SMALL. Many have said the bag is too small. If you plan on putting all of your personal belongings + the repair essentials, then yes, this bag is too small. However, if all you are looking to fit is a full repair kit, this bag fits everything perfectly. Snug? Yes. But that is the whole point. I don't need extra space in my repair kit saddle. By full repair kit, I specify the following items:- Portland Design Works Shiny Object CO2 Inflator- 12 16g threaded CO2 cartridges- Topeak Mini 6 tool kit (look this item up, it is the smallest one Topeak makes)- 27.5 spare tube- 1 Pedros tire leverThat is a respectable list in my book. If you're looking to also squeeze in your phone, it may be too tight and I recommend going for the next size up. Adding a photo to give a real glimpse of how everything fits. Highly recommended if looking for a saddle bag just large enough to fit all the essentials.Hope this was help. Happy riding.
Pleasantly surprised
February 8, 2015
I ordered the medium size. When I first opened the box I was taken aback by the size. I was expecting something larger. However when I started putting stuff inside I was pleasantly surprised how much stuff fit inside.
Initial Review - Great Bag! LARGE
January 2, 2015
I haven't actually used the bag on a bike ride yet but I wanted to share my initial thoughts. Mounting it was quick and easy and I am very impressed with this bag. Fits nicely under my seat. See pics. I was afraid of the bag being too big and would possibly stick out but it does not. Inside the bag is very roomy. My current phone is the Galaxy Note 2 which is pretty big and fits no problem with a lot of extra room to spare. I like how it has a little mesh pocket on the inside with a little key clip.Overall great product especially at this price point.
Good size (Lg) for camera, phone, wallet, etc.
December 27, 2013
The large bags fits well under the seat of my medium-frame 29r mountain bike. I like the way the end of the bag opens for easy access. The reflective strips add visibility, and there's a loop on the back for a reflector or tail light. In my case, unzipping the expansion layer on the bottom would cause the bag to rub against the 29 inch tire, but I won't need the extra bag space.Since there weren't any customer photos, I've added one to show what the bag looks like on a bike.
Great seat bag.
September 11, 2013
I ordered the smallest version of this bag and it fits comfortably under my road bike seat. It is very well made, has ample storage for my needs (Nitrogen tube filler system, spare nitrogen canister, spare tire, chap stick, and emergency cash, and sturdy tab on the back for my bike strobe light). Great bag, and I highly recommend it.

Nicely designed saddle/seat bicycle bag
August 26, 2017
Well designed saddle/seat bag for bikes. Securely fastens under the seat. The double front zipper makes it easier to open the bag from the top unzipping from both sides. The bottom zipper provides an extension for the bag. The bag is smaller that I imagined. It would be good to measure your bike before ordering. I ordered the medium size because I was concerned about the larger bag interfering with the safety tail light. (I did not want to mount the tail light on the back of the bag). But I could have order the larger size. So take the time to measure before ordering.
Sleek and well placed.
July 17, 2017
I didn't want a bag that was huge and noticeable and this one fits the bill. The strap is a little long and there's nowhere to tuck it so it kind of hangs a little too close to the tire and brake for my comfort. Probably have to cut it off. The bag is a little smaller than I was expecting but I should be able to fit everything I need in there. Looks to be well made and hopefully durable.
Nice size. wanted one a little large to fit bike lights, tube and repair kit. it all just fits
April 11, 2017
Nice size. wanted one a little large to fit bike lights, tube and repair kit. it all just fits. Many are very small, and ment for very weight conceious road riders that only want to put tube and CO2 cartrage in, so it was difficult to find a larger one for a towner bike where I wanted to put more items in.
Hard to install as delivered - here's a tip for making it better
June 27, 2016
This was quite difficult to install as it was delivered, given the orientation of the male end of the buckle that is used to hang it from under the saddle. My recommendation is to remove the make end of the buckle completely from the strap, turn it around 180 °, then put it back on the strap. By doing so, you will be able to buckle the strap under the seat then tighten the strap by pulling on the loose end (as shipped this is not possible, because the loose end is crossed over the portion that is under tension). Overall this is a good bag, but it can't be installed correctly without making this change (unless mine was some kind of a fluke or manufacturing error).
Quality, Quality, Quality... That's What You're Getting When You Purchase this Seat Bag
March 22, 2016
I purchased the BV Bicycle Strap-On Saddle/Seat Bag (Large), as I needed to be able to hold my wallet, phone, tire pullers, a patch kit, a spare tube, and a multi-tool -- I have mounts for other items, such as a mini bike pump. After looking at the dimensions in the product details and reading some of the better reviews that offer examples of what people stored in this bag, I’m glad I purchased the large. It’s not an imposing size; and, anything smaller would not have worked for what I wanted to carry.Pros: Starting on the outside of the bag, this is a solidly-built gray-on-black canvas bag with a cardboard insert sewn into the fabric to help the bag keep its shape. The 3M reflectors, which are nicely stitched on the bag, wrap around the entire exposed portion of the shell. Adjustable latching straps are made of a sturdy nylon material, well-stitched, and will have no problem securing this bag to your bike. The rear of the bag also has a solidly-stitched strap on which to secure a bike reflector/light, given you will have to remove your seat post reflector/light in order to attach this bag to your seat post. The angle at which the bag attaches allows the reflector to show unobscured and at a good angle. The bottom of the bag has a solidly-sewn guide through which to thread the strap that secures the strap to your bike seat. The curved, rear portion of the seat has a quality-built elastic band with solid velcro (both of which are stitched well) to attach the bag to your seat post. Buckles are made of a durable plastic and are also stitched securely. Zippers are nicely constructed with pulls on them to assist with use -- from the bottom expandable-compartment zipper, to the zipper that opens the bag’s mouth, they simply feel durable. Inside the bag, on the mouth of the bag, you will find a key holder and a mesh compartment to keep cash, cards, change, etc. Both are solidly stitched. The bag itself has a nice inner lining that seems like it will survive tougher rides and jarring. Looking at the dimensions posted on the product page for the large bag (7.5" x 3-4.75" x 2.5-4"), I needed the large to carry the contents I wanted. I posted a pic showing my wallet, phone, and car keys in the bag (unexpanded), it could definitely hold a little more unexpanded and even more when expanded. I have yet to purchase a tube, but I’m sure it will accomodate all I want.Cons: Being nit-picky, while the zippers work well, the one that opens the mouth can be hard to open given you have to slide it over the mouth of the bag (basically against the bottom of your seat) to open the mouth. Still, I’m not sure how you could improve this design, as opening the zipper from the bottom could result in your contents spilling out.General Comments: I use the term “quality” a lot in this review… that’s because that’s what this bag radiates… quality. It’s large, but not so large that you will hit your thighs when pedaling (I provided a pic of its width under my stock Giant MTB bike seat to show you what I mean). While other reviewers noted the medium and smaller bags worked well for them, for me it was large or nothing -- without going the top-tube-bag or rear-wheel-saddle-bag route. The other sizes, when hung on my bike (and I measured and remeasured to envision fit), would be too small for my needs. Neither a pro or a con, as the product description doesn’t call the bag out as being such, while the tight nylon weave would indicate water resistance, I do not foresee this bag being water proof. As such, we’ll see if some sort of sealant might be needed on wetter rides.Recommended Purchase: Do I recommend the purchase of the BV large black saddle bag? The simple answer is... absolutely. This is a solid four-star product (for my needs). Fit, style, and finish on this bag all equate to quality. For toting smaller items, you simply can’t go wrong with this purchase. Now, if you need to carry the kitchen sink, you’ll need to look elsewhere at much larger bags and/or combinations of bags.In case you're wondering, I paid the Amazon-advertised price for this product. I only write reviews for items I personally use and test. Please know I did the best I could at the time I wrote this review and always welcome both constructive feedback (to make my reviews better) and all questions related to this review (to make it better and help where I can). I will try to address both as time allows, within a reasonable period from the date I posted the review. I'm a family man; so, my time isn't always my own. Thanks for understanding.
Medium not great for iPhone 6
February 19, 2016
An iPhone 6 will only barely fit inside the medium size. It only fits at one certain angle, which is difficult if you have anything else in the bag. I'd recommend a large bag for iPhone 6 or larger phone.

Not the bag for me though quality is fine
October 3, 2017
This bag is ok but I didn't love it. I prefer multi compartment bags for organization. I also found bags with plastic hangers vs straps stay put a little better. This bag is expandable but looks weird when expanded and to get a decent amount of stuff in it it's always expanded and looking weird. I replaced it with a bag I found on Amazon I like a lot more.
Poor design
August 31, 2017
Yes, it is expandable, but the design flaw prevents to get full use of this. The strap goes around the bag, and through the loop on the bottom, then back to the top. This prevents the bottom from opening up completely.
A little more bulky than expected
May 22, 2017
I was hoping to attach this under the seat on the back side, but I need the back light on the seat, so now it's pointing forward, it looks kinda stupid and bulky but does the job. I just don't need that much space for a multi-tool and tube.
Decent bag, strap broke after 3 month.
January 23, 2017
I purchased this bag in October of 2016. It's a good size and having the zipper adjustment to make the bag depth even bigger is a great feature. Why only 3 stars? After only 3 months of use (hanging under my seat with me occasionally going in it to grab a tube, or tool) - the strap has broken. Where the strap loops through the female end of the plastic closure, the stitching has failed. Luckily I didn't loose the plastic closure, and was able to loop the strap back through and use a safety pin to secure.
size large isn't that large
December 27, 2016
Inexpensive saddle bag is not that big, even in size large. I switched to the large AmazonBasics bag which is the same price but 50% larger so I can carry a jacket, snacks, and lock in addition to emergency supplies.AmazonBasics Strap-On Wedge Saddle Bag for Cycling
It does a mediocre job.
August 14, 2015
This is a cheap bag that does its job. If you need something that just gets the job done without being too spectacular (and expensive) this is it. It has a nice, expandable bottom (medium and large sizes), and there is a small nylon strap on the back that I used to jerryrig a reflector on. It does just barely hold the bike cover I bought it for as well.So why the 3 stars? The straps included do not, in my estimation, do an adequate job of holding the bag in place. On my bike it flops around rather freely, even after everything is as tight as I can get it. Also, one of my zipper pull tabs on the bag fell apart on the first day I had it. The nylon just frayed instantly. I had to use a lighter to melt the ends of the other tabs just to make sure they wouldn't do the same thing!Get this if you're just looking for a small utility bag and you're not looking to spend much. If you're looking for great quality, look elsewhere.

Doesn't Secure to Bike Properly
October 2, 2017
The bag does not secure tight enough under a bike seat. There is only strap with a plastic clip to secure it. The bag hangs to low and the extension part of the large bag becomes unusable because it would have hit my bike tire. The size of the bag and quality of the bag were good. I'm not willing to compromise safety though.
The medium bag is really quite small!
September 17, 2017
The medium is quite small. My Samsung cell phone is wedged in, but nothing else is going to go in. The bag tapers to quite a narrow end. I also had a hard time attaching it to the bike...Am considering returning the bag. Disappointed.
May not work well for every seat.
August 5, 2017
I have to say that it holds a lot of stuff. I got a tube, tools and my wallet and keys inside the medium sized bag. The problem I had was trying to get the strap fastened under my seat. Because one side of the strap is so short, the clip ends up being directly under my seat which makes it hard to fasten and unfasten. The two straps aren't enough to keep it from flopping sideways which is annoying.
When my order arrived ( medium ) it looked more like a small
June 14, 2017
I suggest order one size larger based on the online picture. When my order arrived ( medium ) it looked more like a small. Straps could be better quality and there is excess length with no velcro to secure out of the way so the excess just hangs down on the side. That's the strap that passes through the bottom of the seat. The reflective material is a plus, but overall this is no special value or bargain.

October 16, 2016
I have purchased two of these. One purchased 3 years ago for my road bike--medium holds spare tube, CO2 and pump, tire levers, multi-tool with some room to spare. Liked it enough (would give 5 stars) to buy a second for my new mountain bike, still enough room for 29er tube, CO2, tire levers and a larger (crank bros 19) multitool, and room for expansion. within three to four rides the strap that connects under the seat broke. The stitching that holds the strap onto the clip came undone, and only the velcro holding onto the seat post remained to keep me from losing it on the trail. I have not contacted the seller to negotiate a return, as I had a 15 inch velcro strap that I now use to hold the rear of the bag in place. Easier than a return, but disappointing to have this happen so early.

June 22, 2016
PROs:* easy to use* good features including useful expansion zipper* large size fits 5.5" smartphone, wallet, wrenches, tire tools, spare components, a snack or two.CONs:* clip strap is hard to tighten all the way, bag will inevitably shake and rattle a bit over rougher terrain* my bag developed a torn hole in a seam within 3 months under normal MTB use

Poorly designed and poor quality control.
October 29, 2017
Poorly designed. I can't get the saddle bag to sit squarely behind my seat without it flopping and hanging loosely. The upper strap for attachment to the rails of your saddle has been sewn in place with the buckle reversed, such that tightening the strap once bucked is impossible. Also, the velco strap for attachment to the seat post is too long, such that it almost won't velco to my seatpost. See photos for visuals of described design and QC issues.

Poor construction
April 30, 2017
Not built very well. Front strap tore off immediately (the first day). Very poor construction. The old adage: You get what you pay for!I returned the bag.
very disappointed.
April 17, 2017
unfortunately, one of the straps completely ripped off after about 10 rides. very disappointed.
do not purchase
February 6, 2017
Had the bag for 4 days, used it for 2 mountain bike rides and the strap that secures it to the cross bars on the seat ripped free making it unusable. Tried using a bungy cord to secure but the bag swings too much. Ended up trashing it and buying something different. It the perfect size bag (i bought the large) to fit all you need on a mtb ride but cheaply made.

February 12, 2016
Just received product . Bag is ok but the clasp they give you to secure to your seat is very cheap. In fact it doesn't work so if you attach bag to seat expect to see it dangling behind you and don't let it dangle for to long or it will get caught up in your rear tire. Not sure why they would choose such a cheap plastic clip they won't lock but that's what it is. When you couple that with amazon sand bagging delivery for three working days so you won't get it too soon unless you use prime make it hard to give more than a single star. Sorry guys if you buy this you'll have problems
