Love it.
February 11, 2017
I really like this kennel. I bought two of them and put them together for my foster pit. She is very mellow so it is perfect for her. If she was higher energy I might need the 6ft tall one. My husband put it together easily, he did it so it ended up being 4x10 which means a 2ft panel isn't covered, so we just covered it ourselves. If we ever foster a higher energy dog we could remove the open panel and make it the 4x8. Either way, I am so glad I purchased this.

Great buy! Fits two 35-40lb dogs.
Definitely like this, easy to put together and sturdy

Definitely like this, easy to put together and sturdy. Used this for a cat enclosure, attached redwood boards for a ramp and perches. Bought wood brackets to attach wood to sides with screws and used welded wire fencing over the top & under the tarp to keep cats from escaping. So far they like it & haven't gotten out. Do plan to put a enclosed walkway from window to enclosure so they can easily go in & out.
Good quality for the price!
April 8, 2016
I just put this together and I'm feeling great about the quality of the pen. I bought this for indoor use for my 18lb pug to stay in while I am out of the house. He managed to learn how to escape from the cloth pen that I had previously bought for him, and this one seems much sturdier and escape proof. I am able to keep his food, water, potty pads, and bed all in the pen so that he is comfortable when I am away for several hours at work. There are no plastic parts like the description says, and the canopy is made of quality materials that fasten securely to the top of the kennel. I don't think that any dog will have an easy time escaping from the top or ripping the tarp. Since I am setting the pet resort on carpet, I bought another tarp to protect the floor from spills and other messes. I think the height of the pen will work for my dog since he is a small breed. If you have a big dog, s/he might be a little cramped. On the negative side, the gate latch seems very easy to open, and your dog might learn to open it if s/he is very determined to get out. I also wish that there was easier access to the inside of the kennel to clean up spills or messes. The only way of entry is through the gate, but if I couch or get in my knees and crawl in, I can fit through the gate easily even though I am 5'5" and weigh 200lbs. Overall I am very satisfied with this kennel, both by the quality and the price!
Just what we needed
January 7, 2016
I like this very much, I first thought chainlink fence was the way to go but didn't like the reviews. I saw the reviews on this fence and they were much better and I see why. We have a 3 month old Lab that we need to contain when we're at work. I like that they can't quite get their mouth around the wires due to the spacing where in a chainlink they would and probably bend the wires like I read on some reviews. Very easy to build, my husband and I probably spent an hour. The cover is great, very sturdy and will protect against rain and sun. Ours was the 8' long x 4' wide x 6' high.

We use it for our indoor cats to be able to have some outdoor time. Had a contractor attach to an outbuilding where the cats stay. The cats LOVE it! We added a few extra clips at the top for a little extra peace of mind.

Welded Wire Kennel Nice but came defective
July 17, 2017
Welded Wire Kennel 4x6x8' is a medium-gauge chainlink. Easy to assemble. The roof tarp on this one looks like it was subjected to high heat and has a heat-shrink wrinkle about 2 ft wide across its width, making the tarp difficult to stretch down over the end supports. This leaves leaves a 2 in. wide gap between the chainlink and the tarp. There are only two center grommets on each end so the tarp cannot be snugged down to close the gap. It would be nice and more secure if there were at least four grommets for each end section. Since I'm using this for chickens, they won't be getting out but a raccoon could certainly push through the gap. Too big to rebox and return, but would buy again hoping the replacement wasn't defective.
Any dog of remote intelligence would figure out how to unlatch it easily. My puppy cant reach the lock yet
March 5, 2017
The Lucky Dog Uptown Kennel is well built and quality throughout. The only drawback is the lock. Any dog of remote intelligence would figure out how to unlatch it easily. My puppy cant reach the lock yet, but eventually I will place a cable lock around the door and frame to secure it. I purchased kennel decking to cover half of the inside for a place to place his bed and water.
Easy to assemble
February 20, 2017
Easy to assemble. Did not need any help. The only complaint I have is that it is not for dogs over 20lbs. The walls move too much and too easily. I had to bolt it down with brackets from Home Depot. I have it on top of the Kennel pro floor panels (which I love) to keep the dog dry.
This is a great dog pen
August 17, 2016
This is a great dog pen. I purchased this to be used inside and out and it does both wonderfully! It was a little hard to put together but not too bad.My dog is nicknamed Houdini at doggy day care but we have had no escapes from this pen.
Only slightly disappointed in the height of the kennel
May 19, 2016
Was what we were looking for to finish the inside of our kennel. Only slightly disappointed in the height of the kennel, the sides are 4ft all the way around. Miss leading when it states 54+ inches which includes the canopy.
Excellent bird aviary
March 26, 2015
I used this enclosure for a separation of birds in my coop. It is perfect for that application and allows me a place for chicks to mature in the coup without being pecked on. I can keep injured birds away from the others until they heal and I can put a waiting pair in there for genetic control. The hardware is strong and easily to assemble and disassemble. The door works great and is just big enough for me to stoop and enter if needed. The height of the unit is a total of 6' with the tarp. it is only 5' to the top of the wire cage. I was thinking the wire was 6' high when I purchased this item and could not find any specifications that clarified that question...that is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.

Decent product

Easy to assemble. Not quite the quality I was expecting. I world but it again if it was at a lesser price point. I do like the size of it.
Easy to assemble
May 4, 2017
So-so sturdiness. Door very narrow. 6ft tall at the peak of the roof cover only. The sides and door are maybe 4.5-5 ft tall. I'm 5'8" and have to duck quite a bit to get in the short narrow door. Easy to assemble. I'm using it for pet ducks in a shed. Not sure this would hold up well for a large dog. It's light enough for me to lift and push around, and I'm not strong. The kennel I keep my dog in (retriever brand from tractor supply) is much sturdier and weighs over 225lbs. My dog is a 60lb standard poodle and can slide that one through grass a ways. I think he'd push this kennel over and escape in no time.
Measure twice, cut once...
October 1, 2016
Just assembled this today so can't comment on durability yet, but wanted to point out one issue with the listed dimensions. The description states that the measurements are 4 feet by 8 feet. I ordered 4 tiles of the Kennel Deck flooring system, each of which measure about 2 feet x 4 feet (1/2 inch shorter each side). If this kennel had been 4 x 8 as stated, the tiles would have fit perfectly. However, depending on how you assemble this kennel, it will be either 2 inches short width-wise or length-wise. If you assemble the kennel with the ends out as recommended (see diagram 1), it's about 3.8' wide; if you assemble the kennel with the sides out (see diagram 2), it's about 7.8' long. Either way, you are going to be short in one dimension.I ended up sawing the Kennel Deck tiles to fit. The kennel is too cumbersome to return for such a small measurement issue, but the issue does exist, so be careful if you're ordering flooring!
Product arrived with broken small bars and large dents in the thick metal bars.
June 12, 2016
There's no padding to protect the metal bars in the packaging. They expect metal to withstand being thrown around during shipment, but it doesn't. My product arrived with some of the thin metal bars completely broken, and some of the large bars with huge dents in them. Just to be able to put a foot cap on one of the bars I had to get a pair of pliers and force the hole open so that the cap would fit the hole. Also, the tarp doesn't fit perfectly on the roof, and the bungee cords seem old and dried out-- they'll probably need to be replaced soon (we just built the kennel 2 days ago). The worst part of this kennel is how small it is. The dimensions sound big but it is incredibly small... we might be returning this.
Nice idea, poor fasteners
September 11, 2015
We got this for our 18 month old lab mix who is not yet reliable in the house. The kennel went together easily but he got out the first two times we left him and would have gotten out a third time if I had been away longer. The bolts that hold the fasteners that hold the panels together are too short and the wing nuts that fasten them easily strip, so Ferris simply pushed between two panels and the fasteners came undone and he walked out of the kennel. We replaced all the bolts and wing nuts with longer bolts and nuts with deeper threads. Now that he can't move the fasteners, he has started chewing on the panel wires and was able to chew through several pieces of wire - heavier gauge wire might have prevented this, but he has also gotten through chain link fence, so he might be "special". Overall, the kennel is a nice idea and design, and with a less determined and energetic dog it would probably be fine. However, the manufacturer really needs to upgrade the nuts and bolts that are included with the packaging.
Good but not great
June 21, 2014
It arrived in good condition and appears to be well made. It assembles easily. I have two complaints. The tubes that comprise the framework are hollow which of course offers the advantage of a lighter product. It comes with 16 plastic end caps. The instructions fail to mention if they go at the top of the tubes which would protect the the tarp-like roof from the sharp edges or if they go on the bottom of the tubes which would protect the deck I am placing the cage on. I called customer service and spoke immediately to a very pleasant person who told me the end caps go on top. I explained that the tubes would most certainly scratch my expensive composite deck boards. I asked for 16 additional caps for which I was charged $13. In my opinion the company should include end caps for both top and bottom with the cage and adjust the cost. The $13 includes $5. for postage. Maybe I am being picky but not everyone will be placing this kennel on grass. So be warned, you may also need to buy additional end caps. You may also find entering the kennel to be awkward as the entry door is about 5 feet high and narrow. A 6 foot door would be so much more convenient even though it too would affect the cost.

I was expecting a strong enclosure as seen at places like Lowe's or Tractor Supply
October 25, 2017
This kennel was quite disappointing. It is not really 6 foot tall, the side walls are less than 5 feet. I wanted to add it to my existing dog kennel, but it doesn't fit. The wire is thin and weak, very similar to indoor cages for dogs. I was expecting a strong enclosure as seen at places like Lowe's or Tractor Supply, but this is much lighter weight. Was easy to move and put together. They should have included some sort of anchor to secure it to the ground. As it is I am pretty sure any strong wind would carry the whole thing off. I put it under a carport because it is so light weight. I could have bought a much stronger kennel for the same price. I paid $266.00 with free prime shipping. The much stronger one at TSC is regular price $299.00 and was on sale one week after I bought this for only $259.00...sure wish I had waited. It would cost me too much to return it though.
NOT a 6 foot high kennel
March 6, 2017
This kennel is listed as 6'H x 4'W x 8'L. It is NOT 6 feet high. The panels are maybe four feet high. I purchased this kennel with the expectation that I would be able to walk through the door without having to bend over and stand up straight one inside. I would return it and purchase a different kennel but who knows if other kennels are described the same way.....On a positive note, the panels appear to be well constructed and should assemble easily.
Took my dog 7 minutes
February 3, 2017
There's a big hole that is covered by the tarp on the sides I have a medium-sized Husky and it took her 7 minutes to escape from it through that hole
NOT 52" Tall! Overall height INCLUDING 14" canopy makes it 52". Gate height is 38".
October 18, 2016
This is a great little setup other than the fact it is NOT 52" tall. It is 38" tall with a 14" canopy ridge (which I am not using since it'll be used indoors. This should not be counted as height since I was looking for a unit where the actual height was 48" min. A bit of false advertising. Complicating returning, we'll see if my dogs end up jumping it or not.

Too flimsy for a Rottweiler. Not as high as advertised.
not 6ft high under 5ft wast of time
March 26, 2016
very very disappointed, I took the measurements of the description and found that this should work perfect for my needs. I wanted to close in the back porch and allow my cats to come in and out as they please. Ill start off with this is not six foot high...if it is I grew 6 inches. gates come below my chin I'm 5.3. each panel is not 2ft wide but 17in wide. my porch has an awning and its frame is at 6ft off the ground I should have been able to secure the gates to the frame. my plan had been to fence it all and leave the door so I can get out to the lake on my property. one panel was bowed in. mesh itself is cheap

Great kennel, easy to put together!
September 25, 2017
One panel which was the outermost panel in the shipping box was dented and damaged. Please send me anothet panel and I will update my review. The kennel itself looks great and of good quality. Looks somewhat sturdy. Also I am missing one wingnut. It is very easy to put together by yourself.
Don't buy this
June 13, 2017
Missing parts, instructions were awful and the cover was twice as long as the cage. Very disappointed.
We thought they would be nice because it included the covers
May 18, 2017
I bought two of these and paid $250 each. We thought they would be nice because it included the covers. Covers are $100 when bought separate at tractor supply. Kennels are very light weight and low quality. A large dog could probably easily knock it over when standing up against it. We could've bought a galvanized steel one for the same price without the cover and it would've been a lot sturdier. Would not recommend this for large breed dogs.
Not as described
September 1, 2016
Kennel came in with all the parts, but the hight is not as described, is less then 5 feet when it should be 6 feet. I can't return it since I need it and can't wait to get something different.

We left our 29 lb. English staffy in this and she broke the wires and was free in 40 minutes with cuts on her nose and above her eyes.
Destroyed after a month, not nearly as durable as advertised
December 28, 2014
I ordered this kennel for my parents husky mix less than two months ago. He is a very smart dog and tends to get out of any type of kennel they have bought and put him in when they are at work. I bought this kennel based on the durability and the comments from other people. Needless to say, he has already destroyed the door and started working on other parts of it. I am not satisfied at all with the "strength" of the kennel and am trying to figure out how to get my money back or some sort of reinforcer for the kennel. It is much cheaper than it looks. The sides will give very easily even when the bolts are all tight.
