Works great for Hue flood lights
August 23, 2017
Works great for Hue flood lights. The bulbs do stick out, but less than an inch. Not enough to make look ugly, but not perfect. Still a good product and works flawlessly with Hue lights.

Great Value. I bought 2 of them and put them on the floor behind 2 large arika palms that I have on either side of my tv in the living room, beautiful at night as a back light.
Clamp on Swing Arm Lamp
April 17, 2017
Delighted with this clamp-on lamp. Sturdy enough to move into a variety of positions. Good-looking, too. May buy another and use the pair as bedside reading lamps.
Perfect lighting for my apartment rental.
March 6, 2016
Perfect lighting for my apartment rental. It's pretty annoying apartments don't come with ceiling lights, so I had to purchase three of these, one in each bedroom and one in the living room. I put in a super bright 1600 lumen LED light bulb in these and they light up the whole room. And since I can't drill screws into the wall, these hang with just a single push pin. The hole in the back is perfect for that. The lamp is stylish and kind of industrial looking, doesn't stand out like a sore thumb, just perfect. I also think they will be great spot lights for plants or artwork after I move into a house.
MAKES GOOD WALL MOUNTED BEDSIDE LIGHT
September 13, 2015
WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION#1: To install this lamp on a wall, It's not necessary to take it apart - as I did!#2: Mounting is via one small hole in the back that WILL NOT accommodate a normal #8 Pan or flat Head screw - which I attempted to use first.#3: Therefore, unless you want to make the rear mounting larger with a twist drill bit, recommend a #6 Flat or Pan head screw whose head will fit into the rear mounting hole be used.$4: Had I determined the above from the git-go,, I could have installed this lamp in less than 5 minutes - - instead of the 20 minutes I spent taking it apart, fetching a #6 screw, and putting it back together!
Very Handsome and Sturdy Art Light
March 13, 2015
I bought one of these over a year ago and now a second one, both for artwork lighting. One of these will light up a painting over four feet long and over 40 inches high. I use the PAR20 narrow point bulbs and a dimmer switch to get the light just right. The lamp is built sturdy and heavy enough to not worry about it falling over on the table. The gloss black color goes well with our decor. Most people don't notice it until it is on. The switch is very accessible on the rear of the lamp, and it has about a six foot cord. This is not only a cheaper way to light art than expensive traditional art lamps, but is better in my opinion.

Lasted over 6 years.
March 17, 2017
I was all prepared to give this a negative review for failing to work. But then I checked and found out I purchased it in November of 2010. After spending most of it's life living in a closet with only occasional use and hardly ever being charged, it finally died and will not take a charge anymore. I think it has more then proven itself. Good bright light and reasonable price. I don't know if I'm going to buy another one or not, there might be better options now but this one lasted for a long time considering it has a rechargeable battery. For 30.00 I don't think I'll look into just replacing the battery either.
Great light for my needs
December 7, 2015
This is the first review I've written for Amazon. I bought this light in September, 2012 and it worked perfectly for three years. Then I set it on top of a ladder and, when I accidently hit the ladder, its life was over. I told my son how much I liked the light, and he bought me another for my birthday. It lasted two days and quit. We called Amazon and they replaced it immediately. The new one has now worked perfectly for three months.I bought three or four different kinds of lights in previous years. Some had more power but they never seemed to last more than a few months. Living on a small farm, I use a light nightly to check for predators-probably about 10-15 minutes. This Cyclops is fabulous! It's small, lightweight and goes for a couple of months between charges. This is truly a great purchase for my needs.
Powerful and Compact Light!
March 10, 2014
I really like the size and feel of this light. It is small and compact for a Q-beam type of light. The light it produces is super bright and really lights up the night, well past 100 yds. I bought this for hunting hogs and coyotes at night. The red lense really darkens the light though, but it still works okay. I was dissapointed that they don't make a green lense to fit this light. But, I bought a Brinkman Q beam green lense cover from walmart. It was way too big, but I used pipe insulation and hot glue gun to make it work. So now the big green cover fits tight and snug over the top lense. I personally prefer the green light. It makes the viewing area a lot larger and brigher, but still doesn't disturb the animals you are spotlighting. I have used this light about 6 times and it is still holding its charge! I think it is a great light for the money!
Great for short to mid range use
December 31, 2012
I've tested this product at my current job which requires frequent patrols through dark or dimly lit areas and outdoor patrols at night. I've used many flashlights in the past and this is honestly the first time ever using a "spotlight", but I must say this is a very impressive tool. This spotlight uses 9 LED lights and comes with 2 different settings:1st setting: a standard setting that uses 6 LED lights, meant to illuminate a room for close proximity lighting, or to utilize the red filter cap2nd setting: a "spotlight" setting that uses 3 focused LED lights, meant for lighting areas at a distance. When using this tool outside at night, fully charged on the spotlight setting, it seems to be pretty effective up to 20-30 yards. When standing in a pitch black room (say for example a 30x30x12 foot room) aiming this light up to the roof on the spotlight setting will illuminate the room fairly well. This item comes with both a wall charger and a car charger, which is great for personnel operating in patrol cars and it's light weight and easy to carry. I recommend this to anyone looking for a flashlight that performs above normal standards.A word of Caution though! Be very careful when using this item on reflective surfaces on either setting as these LED lights CAN hurt your eyes, especially if you're sensitive to bright lights!
Fantastic, Light, Easy to Carry and Powerful
April 21, 2010
Originally looking to replace a rather large, bulky and ugly Brinkmann Q-Beam 1Million floodlight with a halogen bulb, I found this as a more compact, more modern and lighter fit. I couldn't determine the candlepower number. When I called the Amazon Product Information line, the rep told me that she thought it was 1.5 mill. But the longer lasting, brighter LED light power makes that rather irrelevant in comparison to the halogen lit counterparts. As it will be used on rural property, this was the best light for the best features and money. Strong power that lasts MUCH LONGER than 10 minutes, not a burden to carry, and decently powerful. Plus, it comes with a car and wall charger. And, if you're working what the red cover is / what's the point - this is best used for night hiking / non intrusive to the eyes lighting. If you're shining the light near or on an animal / human, it won't blind them with glare.Overall, this light is fantastic and well worth it for a solution to illuminating dark areas of your property in an accessible manor.*I can see this as being perfect for camping as well.
Awesome Spotlight
December 7, 2009
I live on a farm and use a spotlight every night. This spotlight has been amazing. I used to have to recharge my last spotlight every night because it often died on me. My Cyclops is about half the size and I have been using it for over a month on the original charge!!! I really can't believe it. I would like to find a Cyclops with a little more power or throw for the really long distances, but this one has been awesome! Well worth the price! This light is great for spotting critter from 150 to 200 yards out.

Nice small lamp works with CFL bulbs :)
July 31, 2017
Nice small lamp perfect for my porch..... do lots of knitting for charity and this extra light helps me keep track of my knitting stitches in particular when working with black or other dark colored yarn . It also works well with a small 6 watt CFL bulb. The turn on/off knob is a little difficult to turn, so reason for 4 stars.

It met my need. The only thing I wish was that the coiled cord was longer otherwise it's very good buy.
Good lamp for the price.
April 7, 2017
For the price, I'm satisfied with what I received. I was missing a peg that attaches the arm to the clip, but it stays together fine without it.
Does what you would expect
March 18, 2017
Nice basic portable light. I use 4 of these for our Philipps Hue lighting system in our home. Nice modern design. Base is solid and the light is easily aimed and secured using the friction screws. A sleeker design would be 5 stars.
Good for the price.
May 10, 2016
As pictured nice gloss black finish. The sockets are centered enough that there was space around the bulbs I used but they aren't rigidly mounted to the lamp body and can flex . The switch on one of the lamps seemed stiffer that normal so I'll probably use them on a switched outlet.UPDATE: I swapped out the BR 30 LED flood lamps that worked well but stuck out of the end of the lamp housing and put BR 20 size in. They fit and work perfectly.I bought two more of these light fixtures to use in my hobby room. I had considered track lighting but wanted to spread the lights out for more coverage.

Red lens mounting system stinks
August 26, 2016
The only thing I don't like about this light is the red Lens. it does not stay put when installed and has to be held in place. Otherwise I've used this light a lot out on our property and it works well.
Not worth it, the battery doesn't last UPDATED to four stars from two
June 22, 2015
I wouldn't buy it again. It's been a good flashlight which got VERY light use, and now after two years the battery is shot--won't charge. I am getting another battery but the next time it goes in the recycling bin. I paid over $50 for something that has given up too quick. The rest of the world may think 2 years use for that kind of money is just dandy, but I don't.I did replace the battery and it has now held up for an additional two years, so the flashlight is working well for me considering it cost another $20 for the battery and the time invested.
Great light for the price... just don't beat it up too much.
November 6, 2014
This is a good flashlight to have in your vehicle and house. The 300 lumens + the wide lens offers a nice throw for the price. I use this flashlight all the time. I have used it to ward off unwanted guests in my driveway, or to scare away wild bears from eating my trash. This flashlight is no joke! My MagLite 3-D Cell LED Flashlight is more durable than the Cyclops CYC-9WS. But, the hollowed out beam on my MagLite is very frustrating and only provides minimal light compared to the 300 lumen beam of the Cyclops CYC-9WS.I also own a Surefire P2X Fury Dual Output LED flashlight. The throw of my Surefire P2X Dual OutPut LED flashlight's beam is narrower than the Cyclops' beam. But the brightness is very similar. This is a bulky flashlight. I have used this flashlight for 3 years and the locking switch to keep the light on without holding down the trigger is starting to break. And there is a rattling sound inside my Cyclops like part of the lock has broken loose.Pros -- bright light, good price, nice throwCons -- heavy, bulky, and moderately durable
Very Bright and Very Heavy
April 28, 2014
This is a heavy duty product. It comes with a red cap, which I hopefully will never need. There is a lot of talk in the reviews about the recharging of the unit and whether you will accidentally overcharge it. All that is overstated. The main thing to ask is whether you need something this heavy and cumbersome. I used it outside, and it does indeed put out a strong beam, but so do many smaller and lighter units. It has a switch to toggle between narrow/distant and wide/close beams. The latter seemed to me to be of little use, since the light dims quite a bit. Just how long it will hold its charge is something I need to discover for myself, but I am a little leery of rechargeable batteries in flashlights. Too often you are just better off getting good regular batteries that last.I was looking for a hand-held light canon for use in serious darkness outdoors. After more time spent with it I may feel better about it, but so far it is a nice (and heavy) light, but requires recharging and I am not too sure whether a smaller unit that uses regular batteries would not be as good.
Bright function is good, low LED function doesn't seem very useful or the red cap cover.
February 3, 2013
Pros:* Fulfills the need for its intended use: Long dog walks down a very dark road late at night.* Good spotlight for I would say up to a 100 yards easily.* Smaller than my previous spotlight and lighter. That was an old spotlight of maybe ten years ago.* Don't know what to compare it to today but its a nice size and fits in my hand nicely.and feels solid.* Seems solid, as I dropped it on my kitchen floor when unplugging it from the wall charger and worked fine (whoops).* Comes with both cigarette and wall plug charger.Cons:* The "low" beam LED seems pretty useless to me as its too dim for long or even very short distances.* Should be a switch for both high and low lights to go on simultaneously for maximum light output.* Don't need the red cover, and if I did use it would want a strobe feature as a warning flasher.Recommendation: If you're looking for a powerful long throw spot light that is rechargeable, I think this is a good choice. Like others, I looked at a lot of spotlights and this fills the bill for my need. The red cover and low beam don't do anything for me as I have road flares in the trunk of my car for emergencies and the low LED is really quite pathetic for a flashlight this size. The light output is comparable to my $200 Olight without the expensive batteries (the reason I purchased this light). While my Olight is small, I'll give up the small size for the larger rechargeable light --- will most probably save the cost in batteries and cover the cost of this light in the long run.Gave it four stars because as others have noted no lanyard even though there is a loop hole for one and the cover and unusable (in my opinion ) low beam. I guess the red cover would be good to protect the lens when not in use. Overall, happy with the purchase because it fills the need at what I think is a reasonable price.
Great but high burnd out after 1 week - but great response by Cyclops and Amazon
June 2, 2010
I did a lot of research my very expensive prior HID very bright light when it seems the ballast went out and the cost of the ballast was about $150. Original price was about $350 about 3 years ago.The Cyclops is almost as bright although wish I could have compare them side-by-side. The HID light also too about 20 seconds to reach full intensity. LED has taken off the the last few years since had to use HID to get very bright lights.I loved the Cyclops - much smaller and lighter than the old HID which also had a sort battery life. Very bright high and very usable low beam. We have Monsoon storms here in Phoenix and have had long power outages the last few years so wanted some level of light if at night for power failures. I am at fairly high elevation overlooking N Phoenix and we seem to get lots of lighting hits on power transformers on poles in my area. Some day I hope they will go underground. After about a week of loving Cyclops I turned it on to high and after a quick flash the high went dead. Low worked fine.Surprisingly I was easily able to get Cyclobs tech support and they thought something most have shorted out. They suggested checking with Amazon first since they would replace but would take about 3 weeks. I have used Amazon for many purchases for years but never have had to return anything.I did the exchange for new thing but was slightly confused if they would ship a replacement or if I had to reorder after I got the RMA stuff from the web. And this was on Memorial Day weekend. Very quickly received various e-mails that new unit was being shipped with one day shipping and have to return old within 30 days.Today got new one and packed up old. Is in process of charging but assume it was odd that the old one went out so fast and very impressed on the each return and exchange policy of Amazon when defective so soon after purchase.I am not clear if the red light charging light goes out when fully charged. I believe it did after charged old unit for about 10 hours but there is a report here of charging light not going off. I wish there was some way to know how low the charge is as I want to keep it charged up - to be ready for a power outage but not have it being overcharged or shortening battery life.I don't detect any green on low as someone reported but may have been a different model.I may buy a 2nd one to keep in the car in case needed sometime at night when not at home.

Watch out
September 26, 2017
Beware the clamp is all PLASTIC including the screw to tighten it; when the metal base is inserted into the plastic clamp it cannot be secured in any particular position, it swivels freely, prohibiting diagonal or vertical installation. Max bulb is just 60watts. All hinge tightening nuts are covered in PLASTIC knob that can barely be moved. Haven't decided we there to keep it or not.

Turn clamps that hold it in place are not strong enough, as the lamp head slowly turns down under its own weight. Put my own bolts on to tighten it up. Otherwise this lamp is awesome

July 25, 2015
I needed a light lIke this to replace a similar product whose socket had failed. This is c adequate but I had some problems.First I couldn't get the lamp to bend at the hinged points. I had to loosen the screws slightly, and then it seemed to work BUT the coil springs then flew off one and a few minutes later the other one. They flew off with a lot of force, so use caution. They are designed to hook over a bent metal tab, but it is poorly designed, and they work their way off the tab because the angle of the punched metal tab is wrong. The hinges are tight tho, so I decided to scrap the springs. My earlier lamp had a fitting over the knurled plastic rotating switch handle, and this does not have that feature. But it works fine without it, just not quiet as elegant.I am satisfied with the product, but it is not top of the line for sure.
Works well with incandescent bulbs, but be careful with others
September 27, 2012
The clamp is just strong enough to be used in the intended bulb facing down position. It cannot be used for facing up because the clamp is not strong enough, even if there is no bulb in it. You may have trouble with heavy LED bulbs or CLF bulbs that are longer and will stick out (so you are distracted by a bright bulb), so check those things before you order. This is especially important because incandescent bulbs (which this thing seemed to be designed exclusively for) will no longer be sold at some point.I am rating it at only 3 stars because they could have made the clamp stronger and because of the design shortcuts; it will be difficult to find non-incandescent bulbs when they are no longer wanted or sold. I recommend finding a lamp that is easy to use with most modern bulbs unless this design happens to suit your needs.
A modest lamp for the money
September 5, 2012
This is a simple light, which is ok, and it does what it is supposed to. It uses a standard bulb which is convenient. However, the clip is plastic and rough at the edges. I had to pad it before I put it on a wooden headboard to avoid scratching the wood. This is very cheap finishing - a soft pad would have avoided damage to objects it clips onto and would also help avoid slippage.

It was a good like while it lasted
September 30, 2017
It was a good like while it lasted. The battery didn't even make it to the 2yr make. It no longer charges and it a sealed battery, which I'm sure I could replace if I take the light a part and if I find the right battery. The light still works but only if it is plugged in. The design of this light would have been better if the batter could be changed easier.
Battery is the issue
November 16, 2016
Bought this from Amazon about 3 years ago. It was very good, but, as with other folks, the battery decided not to charge anymore. Didn't use it that much, either.
Not 2 impressed for price. Red light does not reach far enough for Coyote hunting, Beam width is narrow & can't be adjusted :(
February 12, 2015
Not all too impressed. Bought mainly for the use of the red light during Coyote hunting and i don't think i will be able to do that at all. By the other reviews it sounded as if this would be a really good light but it just wont work for what i need. The beam is pretty narrow and it has NO ADJUSTMENT to make it any wider. The beam don't have that far of a reach especially for the purpose of night hunting. The Red light is pretty much useless and does not reach very far at all. I would be surprised if i could see a Coyote past 25 yards at the most. The trigger is very nice and easy and this is a very light weight unit but for the price, I think one could get a MUCH more substantial beam as far as distance and beam width. The small light is nice but not good for all to much. I DID fully charge the entire length before operating & followed ALL directions before turning this on...so that would not affect the outcome. Perhaps i got one that just was a "Dud"...and the others are ok. Waiting to hear from boyfriend when he gets home on weather or not we will return it.
You're lucky if you get one from the "good batch"
November 3, 2014
I have actually purchased a total of 4 of these (3 for myself and 1 for my parents). The first one I purchased was awesome. It lasted over a year until the charge would drain rather quickly. That's when I ordered my 2nd one and my parents one as well. We only use it to look around our property at night, maybe once a week. The 2nd one only lasted a month or so til it would no longer hold a charge and it was not as bright as the first one I originally received. Finally I ordered my very last one, It was semi bright and somewhat holds a charge. I believe it is just a hit or miss with these. Some perform really well and others not so well. Maybe I just received part of a bad batch with my last two.
Decent light
October 22, 2013
To start off with this is a great light but it has it cons also. I found that the battery life was great but sometime the charge light would stay on like it did not fully charge. It is pretty bright as long as you don't compare it to a normal spot light, I would say a decent 50 yards of good viewing and you can make stuff out at 100. The big thing is don't drop it! I dropped this off my counter in the house and it caused the battery inside to slide around and pull a wire. I have since taken it apart and glued the battery back in place so it doesn't bend the light module fins or pull any more wires. I would buy this as long as you are not wanting to look out really far, if so this one is probably not for you.
A good LED spotlight choice from Amazon
September 20, 2010
This is an excellent LED spotlight (when new) that also can serve as a lower light flashlight as it has 2 operating LED systems, one for the spotlight and one for the flashlight. It is a light weight and compact light that uses a small amount of battery power so that it operates a long time on a charge and does not get hot. I have seen complaints in reviews that the red filter does not attach securely, that the trigger does not lock on, and that the status light on the charger does not go out; but that is not the case on my light which may be an improved model because everything works perfectly. The filter attaches with a simple twist, the trigger locks on at the push of a button, and the red charger indicator light goes out as soon as the light is charged. I have owned several heavier and bulkier rechargeable lights that got very hot, would run down the battery quickly, and didn't last long. So far this light has been far superior to any of them and is the obvious result of modern technology and the improvements in LED and battery technology. The light is not inexpensive, but on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best I would rate this light a strong 9 and would highly recommend it. One negative,it is made in China as is everything it seems. *****UPDATE..Now after 2 years use the battery is weak and the light produced is much less. The battery is not replaceable. I have reduced my rating from 5 star to 3 star for that reason.********2ND. UPDATE.. At 3 years the light was done, wouldn't hold a charge for more than a hour, had a very weak beam, and the battery isn't really replaceable.... BUT the light was so great for several years and lots of use that I just bought another one May 2014 and when new they are super bright, compact and light weight and everything you would want in a rechargeable spotlight. I hope to get several years hard use out of this one also.

Disappointed in this lamp
September 22, 2017
The arm length is not even close to the claimed "35 inch reach". The actual arm length is 27 inches. Even adding the additional distance to the middle of the light bulb only gets you to 31 inches. The problem with this is that the lamp ends up off to the side of my work instead of directly over it. The second major problem is the pivot where the lamp head meets the arm. There is a adjusting screw there to allow you to move the lamp head to different positions, but no matter how tight you turn the adjustment knob, the lamp head will slowly droop. It will only stay in place for a couple of minutes before drooping down. In looking closely at how the adjustment pivot it is made it is clear it is just a really bad design. Clearly, no one ever bothered to test this design, else they would have discovered this issue within minutes of use. There is just no way for it to grip properly to keep the head in place. Which is simply irritating that the first thing you have to do with a new product out of the box, is to spend time fixing it.. Seems to be a common problem with lots of stuff that is Made in China...... Anyway, I had to take it apart and add a couple of star washers to the pivot assembly to make it work properly.
Borderline. Not very well made.
May 24, 2017
The lamp is just borderline. The clamp is no good, and I had to buy a separate clamp, see below. Also, one of the springs broke the hook off, and I had to find a nut to re-attach it.
Cheap and doesn't hold up
January 31, 2016
The knob on the head of the lamp doesn't hold the lamp where you want it to point at. The knob does tighten but since it doesn't hold it up, it literally can only point down. I purchased 2 of these hoping that I had received a defective one but it seems like all of them are like this. The light does work however the "multi-directional aiming and precise positioning" feature does not. Seems like a pretty standard feature for these types of lamps, unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this.

December 14, 2015
I've tried using this lamp for two weeks, and straight out of the box the adjustable feature does not hold the lamp in an extended position. Within minutes the reflector will not stay up, and the lamp collapses down. The plastic adjustment knobs do not tighten enough to hold the lamp in the desired position. The ability to position the lamp head is critical to this kind of lamp. I was very disappointed as the lamp parts are well-made and easy to install. I had high expectations.
Not as pictured.
August 12, 2015
The clamp for the light is not as pictured. The clamp is black, not white. Secondly, it doesn't have a hole in the back which allows the clamp to be mounted horizontally. Third, the shape and design of the clamp is completely different than pictured and it doesn't have any protective padding on the clamp, so expect to scratch your furniture.

December 28, 2014
This light is semi all right. It has a poorly constructed base that if you clamp it down, and then bump the light or try to use the swinging arm as intended it will lose its grip and fall off table. If you are just clamping it and leaving it, this might be the light for you. For less than 50 cents more on production costs they might have had a quality light. I give it two stars because the light does shine.

I have had this for about a full year now and only used it during the winter months so a total of about 4 moths split over the beginning and end of they year, the light has faded exponentially. which is a shame. I was mainly using it for night hunting. i would suggest looking at other options.it worked well when i first bought it. For the money i would suggest looking elsewhere. There are some lights that come with external rechargeable batteries that are probalay better because if the battery fades you can buy a new battery rather than a new light.
We loved this light when we bought it
July 23, 2016
We loved this light when we bought it. Was perfect for what we needed it for and not as heavy or bulky as our previous spotlight. We kept it at our vacation home so it got limited use. But we always kept it properly charged when we were there. After two years of light use -- it's dead. It shows it's charging but the doesn't work when unplugged. We paid quite a bit more than it's currently offered for. But still, it should last more than two years with light use. Our old spotlight lasted for at least 5 years.

April 18, 2016
Lasted two years and then wouldn't recharge. I checked the battery and it wouldn't hold over 4 volts. It is a 6 volt battery. I then looked at the charger that was supplied and it is a 12V charger. I checked the voltage coming from the charger and it was 21 VDC. Probably the charger failed causing the battery to overcharge but the instructions say you shouldn't overcharge and that might be because they use a 12V charger going to a 6V battery to speed the recharge time. Not sure but I would think a battery and charger should last longer than 2 years.

I have tested this light for 3 Years now. Initial impression = decent for price was happy. but battery WILL start to show significant fatigue after about half a dozen charges and uses, the light will be about as bright as ANY cheep $15 headlamp at that point. Overall size is good but WAY too big for the amount of light it puts out considering my camping headlamp cost $40 and is WAY brighter and more functional+ replaceable batteries. Overall don't waste your money on a spotlight that is NOT A SPOTLIGHT. May be good for walking your dog in a neighborhood with streetlights but NOT for spotlighting anything past 30 feet. you get what you pay for, ALL life on the planet is here because of LIGHT you'll appreciate spending a little more $$ for something more powerful and functional.
Don't Judge the Spotlight by It's First Few Months
July 26, 2015
I have owned two of these spotlights. I bought the second one after using the first for 4 months, and was so impressed I purchased a second one. After a year of ownership, and having only used the first spotlight occasionally, it stopped charging. Checking with the manufacturing company got me no help and little concern. Once the limited warranty runs out, you are at a total loss, with no way to get a new battery or replacement. I took solace in the fact that I, at least, had the second one, which was still working AT THAT TIME. Two months later, the second spot began doing exactly what the first one did. Were these spots designed to die after the warranty ends, so as to cause an owner to buy another? I really liked the quality of these spots, the power, and the versatility; but they are not worth such a short-term investment. Do yourself a favor and pass on these spots.
Worked but didnt impress

Skip this........Get yourself an OLight or Surefire. You will be way better off. I got the Olight Warrior m21-x to replace this spot light on the farm. Its smaller and WAAAAAY brighter with 600 lumens for under 100$ on amazon. I think 89$ at the time this was written. I use my Olight for checking out the property at night. Can see for a couple hundred yards no problem with the Olight. Plus spotlights with internal batteries are only going to see a lifespan as long as the internal battery allows. With a light like the m21-x you can get rechargeable lith ion batteries and replace them if they go out. As an average LED light bulb will outlast most batteries available. I use the Ultrafire 18650 3000mAh 3.7v Rechargeable Lith Ion with my Olight and couldn't be happier. Never thought a flashlight could make my this much of a difference in how I manage my farm. Get the right light for the job and you will also realize what you were missing out on.

Clips cracked on two units. One clip broke clean through upon unclipping.
June 26, 2017
Delivered two units March 27, 2017. Return window closed April 26, 2017. Clipped both to bookcase top shelf about 1.25 inches thick and have not moved them since. Just observed plastic cracked on both top and bottom of clips of both units from clip pressure alone. One unit lower clip cracked completely through upon removal from bookshelf. Removing second unit before it falls off. Have decade(s) older unit from same manufacturer clipped to same bookshelf with no damage. Current model dated 11/2016 clip made of substandard weak plastic.

Very poorly manufactured. The light sockets had to be straightened before I could even screw in a bulb. The base barely fits onto the solid core wood door that I use as a desk surface - beware that the internal dimensions that is listed for the clamp does not include the pad that sits on top of the screw, which, by the way, is conveniently not shown in the picture. When the bulbs fail on these, I will throw the entire units out. Buy a name brand - not Satco.
Lamp doesn't stay where you want it
November 18, 2016
I'm about to return this lamp. While it looks nice, it's non-functional. The lamp won't stay where I want it. The head keeps falling. Plus, the knobs are painful to turn but that could be a result of trying to get the screws tighter in hopes of making the lamp stay. I don't recommend this product.
Poor quality, no quality control
May 22, 2015
I ordered two of these and both were defective. One unit had a loose socket and would not hold the lightbulb firmly. The other unit would not switch on. I debated just returning them, but I disassembled and tightened down the loose socket and repaired the switch. Unfortunately, the location of the power cord entering the unit is now slightly damaged due to disassembly. However, both units now work since I've repaired them. Do not recommend. These units are very low quality.
Well the 1 star guy was RIGHT

Usually I try to get along with cheap products but this ones spring and plastic clamp now makes it clear that is is not going to hold up for anyone. Out of the three I ordered two have already broken. Typical high profit margin junk form China. The clamp would need to be made of metal to take the pressure placed on it. The low grade plastic they used will fracture- I have two examples and once you lose the clamp the lamp is not much good for anything. This last lamp not only fractures from where it was sitting but the clamp part fell apart and NO it was not hyper-extended. It was placed on a 1/2" piece of desk shelving. It was not moved around a lot so the cracking did not come from activity. In both cases the fracture was at the area where the clamp meets the footing. I can provide pictures. This clamp needs to be made of a different material as this plastic is not up to par.Get something else do not buy this item it is not going to hold up or last more than a couple of years.
Wouldn't recommend it
May 20, 2013
I ordered this for several people at work and we all hated it. They didn't stay upright, even after we tightened it as much as it would go. The outside got really hot after being on a short amount of time. We got one to stay up and used it for awhile and then the switch wouldn't work, it was stuck and so we had to unplug it to turn it off. It was terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I ended up finding better lights at a lower price in the end. But Amazon makes returns easy so that part wasn't a hassle.

This light was a big disappointment. I bought it about a year ago
February 24, 2016
This light was a big disappointment. I bought it about a year ago, used it only on a few ocassions, and now it seems not to be working. When I try to charge it, the red LED no longer lights, and as far as I can tell, it is not charging. Really. $45 for a light that works for about a year under minimal usage? Like someone else wrote: no wonder they only give a 90 day warranty. I called customer service and they directed me to another website where I can buy another battery, for $20 delivered. However, it's not clear that the battery is the problem. Search red led on the reviews and you'll find a lot of people who have had issues w/ the charging light not working as described. The customer service guy at cyclops said I should discharge the light fully and try charging again. The battery website says discharging fully will ruin this battery. Go figure. I'm done w/ rechargeable spotlights, I think.
Light output is much weaker one year later.
January 22, 2016
When new, this had a wonderfully bright beam. But after one year, at maximum charge the light output is pathetically dim. Very disappointing for the approx. $44 I paid. It appears the rechargeable lead acid battery has gone bad; the spec is 6V, but it's only showing 5V after charging. Or perhaps the charging circuit is defective. Regardless, I would never buy this again.Update 2/26/2016 - I just replaced the lead acid battery with a new one ($20) and the light is super-bright again. Now I have to test the charging circuit to see if it's overcharging and/or damaging the battery. (Complete disassembly was required to change the battery.)
Spend a few extra bucks and get a good one with a lithium ion battery and a regulated charging system.
October 7, 2015
Just put it in the trash. Charging system has been failing intermittently for about a year, but if I tried it several times over several days, it would finally take a full charge; now there is no way to get it to charge. Called the product support number and they did not have a clue - had to explain to the person I was talking to that the recharge power supply was similar to what she used to charge her cell phone! Absolutely no help!Spend a few extra bucks and get a good light with a lithium ion battery and a regulated charging system.
Great light for a good price. (Updated - Didn't last)
November 23, 2014
So far so good. Leave it on the charger and use it as needed. Pretty good spotlight up to 150' or even more. Nice to have the option for the lower power light when more direct flood light is called for. Not sure what the red cap is used for, probably night time and keeping your eyes adjusted. The lock on switch is a nice feature as well.**Update ... 2 years of owning the light, using it occasionally (let's say every week or two for a brief amount) and the "high beam" setting has failed. Only the low setting works now. So mostly just useless now. For the price I would have expected it to last longer considering the minimal use.
Wouldn't hold charge after 1 use
June 1, 2014
I took this out to the woods on a camping trip shortly after I got it and it worked great. Held a charge for a long time and was very bright. Put it away for a couple months, then I was planning on going out again. I charged it overnight. The first thing I noticed was that the red light on the back, which is supposed to be on while charging and go off when it is fully charged, did not turn on at all. Then I unplugged it and it died in a matter of seconds. Tried again, and tried with the DC adapter, nothing worked. So I got one use out of a $50 flashlight. No wonder there is only a 90 day warranty.
Stopped working after 4 mos.

I read many reviews on this spotlight before I bought it for my Dad as a Christmas gift. After only 4 months (and very light use spotlighting deer), the light will not work when it's unplugged from the charging unit. It shows it's charging when plugged in. I couldn't find customer service # for the Cyclops spotlight so contacted Amazon and they offered to refund or replace it. Thank you Amazon!
