This safe book is awesome. First, it really looks like a book, and that is because the first half inch of the book literally is. The inside cover casually secures in place and does not cause any protrusion of the pages. The safe box is large enough to accommodate a good amount of cash, credit cards, and my checkbook. It is made very well and does not look cheap at all. I obviously have this book stored among my other books on the bookshelf, and from an outsider's perspective, there is nothing that would indicate that this was a "safe box". Lastly, I haven't read the actual story that comprises the first half inch or so, but from a quick glance, it does look interesting!

Took this on vacation to hide my passport and money when I was staying in places without a safe. It gave me peace of mind! Great camouflage! It truly looks and feels like a book. I tested it on friends and nobody could tell.

This is great. Looks like a book because it is a book. Storage compartment is nice and felt lined. Only thing I'm not a big fan of is that the storage lid if very thin and cheap, but it works fine. It doesn't have a lock, but it's designed for hiding, not for security. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

The perfect product for this purpose. The purpose is fine (to hide valuables, even the size of paper money without folding or rolling). The paper are made of paper, as both the hard cover and the pages are taken from a real book, with different random titles every time, of course. The safe inside is large enough and made of "velvet"-covered plastic. Much better, than a metal safe, which gives itself away by it's well-known clinking sound. And these manufacturers (unlike others) have understood, that no keys are needed, because the whole security lies on the book getting discovered or not as being more, than a book. The only protection should be the book decoy, so that will have to work a 100% and yes, it does! I'm a complainer, but I just can't complain about this product. It's that good.

This is a great idea! Worked for a long time until it got knocked off the wall and the plastic broke. Always good to hide your valuables!

Im a Security Consultant and I know a good security product when I see one, This is a great idea that isn't as well known as those fake cans...This can be recessed into the wall and then it doesn't stick out as others have mentioned in their reviews... Looks to to made too fit into the wall!!! If you do not want to cut a hole in your wall, easy to do in a plaster wall or chalk board. You may then want to put it in your garage facing the entry door, that way it looks flat and not fat! Crooks don't spend much time in garages, so I suggested there.Space is limited inside so choose carefully what you need to hide. When I purchased it I had my gun in mind, won't fit! Not much of a need anyway as I carry it with all the time...It will hold plenty of cash & jewellery...

It looks very real. There are about 98 pages of real book before the compartment, and it's big enough to fit a passport and few other small things. Comes with a realistic bookjacket, nothing sticks out or looks odd about it.

the only thing I'll say about not being able to pick the title is that mine is vampire erotica. Kind of hilarious to me, but maybe you wouldn't be quite as tickled.

Pretty damn good hiding spot but the page with the safe is lifted and can be conspicuous.

A simple and cheap option to hide valuables in plain sight. My book is part of a romance/fantasy/science fiction series - none of which would be a typical genre found in my collection. However, while the fantasy-inspired graphic on the dust jacket might be slightly out of place on my book shelf, simply removing the dust jacket and having a pretty basic two-toned hardcover book with an inconspicuous title and author on the spine will not draw any additional attention from anyone. It would be nice to have the option to choose your own title, but I honestly don't have any major complaints with the one that I received.

The velour compartment is the perfect size for small valuables, cash, passports, etc. My one concern is with the cover of the compartment. It's simple to remove, but a bit more difficult to put back in place. It's also rather flimsy and I'm afraid removing it and putting it back into place too many times might cause the cover to split/crack and eventually render it useless. With that said, if the day comes when I have to toss the compartment cover, I don't believe it will affect the usefulness of this diversion safe too much because the top pages and cover would act well enough as a lid when the book is closed and on a shelf.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

The quality of the book safe is great, however I was a little disappointed in the depth of the storage compartment.

The book is what appears to be about 500-600 pages long, so it's pretty thick and has potential for a deep compartment - but the storage space only takes up a small amount of that.

The compartment in my book is located on page 41 - again, with how shallow the compartment is, I feel like it could have been placed deeper inside the book. If someone picks up the book to read it, they'll quickly find the goods!

I tried to put my wallet and car keys in it and it couldn't close all the way. So, it looks like the book was more designed to hide small documents, money, and rings. If that's all you need to hide, then this book safe is perfect. But if you need to hide anything larger, you might want to find a different book safe (or make your own!).

The product is exactly as it is described. There is a black compartment inside a random book that holds an inch of space. I use it in my dorm, and it's been useful to keep my wallet and cash in while I'm out and about campus. It should definitely be noted that the title is very random. I received Rain Gods by James Lee Burke but luckily found that it blended in fine. In reviews prior, a large number of customers wrote about receiving books of odd titles or different genres than what they were hoping for. In ordering this product, it's honestly just luck. It's not a purchase to make if home shelves only have a certain genre. I don't like that it's just a box without any key, however. It's a good diversion, but it's not very secure in the instance someone just accidentally happens upon it. I trust my roommate, so it's not a concern for me. But in other cases, it should be noted the product can easily be opened if the case is found.

Great size for small valuables. The side material seems like a flimsy plastic but I placed mine in the Middle of a burlap wreath & creates a much more appealing look & not as noticeable as a cheap thick clock! Would recommend!

Pretty good had to open the casing to like screw in the hour hand because I had almost thought that it being a clock safe one of the tricks is that it's always on the wrong time or something. Great small storage place and surprisingly stealthy. 4⭐

It's a decent clock. I have offset walls, so the depth of the clock doesn't look out of place. Not high quality, but for the price it fit my purpose. Plus, not too many people realize it has space inside.I keep mine next to the door for my keys and such so they don't get knocked off the table, or accidentally picked up by the grandkids! (Tried to fit the remote, no luck.)

So I bought this because I needed a wall clock and thought the "safe"would be an added bounus. So the clock is great, it only takes one battery and I had no problems with it. Now if you are someone who actually wants something to keep valuables in this is not the product for you. The compartment is very small and does not go back very far. It can hold maybe a watch on one shelf and some other small things like that. However if you just want this to stash things then I could recommend it for that.

This was shipped and arrived safe and on time. The clock and "safe" part are sturdy enough, but when you open the door, it "bends" at the hinge and you sometimes have to lift the clock a little to get it to shut properly. Other than that, it works as advertised. I'd give it 5 stars if there was actually a way to lock it...but it's just a "hidey-hole".

Not like the picture, I was wanting one that looks like the picture that had few pages of the book and then the safe and in the picture it looks like it's a felt box with a lid but what I got was a metal safe and had a key and all the pages were cut I still like what I got, it works but it's just not what I wanted that's not what is in the picture

I like how there are real book pages. Disappointed there is no type of lock on it. Good quality, but I can't use it for what I really needed it for because there is no security.

Please note this item is not like the description. You will receive the "new" version of this book safe which features a metal compartment with a lock and key, as other reviewers have noted. This is frustrating because the lock reduces the already very limited space within the secret compartment, and also doesn't add much protection for your valuables (the thief would just steal your entire book).

I returned my order and received a replacement, but it was the same locked version as before. If you're looking for a real book with a snap-on lid compartment in the center, I suggest you look at other listings.

I bought two of these, thinking I could put a small CCW in it. No dice. The space is way too small for that. Keys, jewelry and so on would do fine, but you aren't going to get much more than that in it.

Construction is good, and the item is not junk. Just be aware of the size limitation.

I ordered this item on a Monday and I received it that very Friday. Not all titles are the same! Mine was "Willie Mays: The Life, The Legend". I was very happy with the price, and how fast the shipping was. But I will say this: The book is very, very light. It does not have the weight of an actual book. Another thing is that when I took it out of the packaging I realized that there were strings of glue all over it from where they glued the pages together, and on the top of the books' pages it looks as though someone drew a line about two inches long with a black marker, and then used White-Out to hide it. You can clearly tell this is a defect. I'm not saying that all of these books come with a mark like this, but mine did.
If you plan to put this book in a bookshelf with plenty of others, then the weight or a defect like mine wouldn't be an issue.
It's just something to think about :)

Sticks out from the wall to far. you'll definitely know it's not a real clock. It's cool though.

At first I used this product for everything. Then I noticed that my items would fall out because of the rounded shelf at the bottom. The shelves are also too small to fit anything on them so the clock wouldn't close all of the way. I wish the clock would have some sort of lock because it is fairly obvious that the clock is hollow. The clock itself does work and I do use it for that. But for the same price I could have bought a better looking clock.

I bought this safe to hold the keys and combination to my personal items safe and the keys to my gun safe. I needed to A. find a place for these keys somewhere easy for my sister to locate in case something happens to me and my husband and B. make them secure from my teenager. The gun safe is in the basement laundry room, so I put up the clock in there.It serves the purpose well, but I admit the construction is a bit flimsy. It has three holes on the back; I just put it up with nails and it shifts when I open it, so I'm going to have to replace them with screws. The little shelves inside don't hold much at all; it's adequate for a couple of sets of keys and nothing more. I will also have to glue a little fabric on the shelves because the keys slide right out when the clock moves when I open it. I have it at least six feet off the floor to discourage anyone (kid especially) for looking closely at it, so when it rocks when I open it, the keys fall out.The clock itself works well. It's easy to read and makes an audible ticking noise. That's a feature I like but others may not. Overall, kinda cheap, but okay to me for my use and for the price.

Its a functioning clock and overall a nice lil' safe. The only negatives it that it pops out kinda far but if you don't know what your looking for you won't notice. It also isn't locked and you can just open it- or throw it- to get what you need out of it. But for its price its a sweet gift.

This of course is not any kind of "safe" it is a concealment device. One of the important aspects of concealment is to make something appear real and ordinary in order to have someone's eye skip over its significance. Most clocks have some kind of brand name printed below the 12 or above the 6. The ones I received are plain white, save the black numerals. They look like a low-end prop. I don't plan on keeping them. If you aren't bothered, then the device appears to be a cheap-but-serviceable plastic set of small shelves that is appropriate more for hiding a key to a file cabinet at work, or perhaps tucking away an ordinary object you don't want your kids, spouse, or roommates to get into. But if you know you are the kind of person who won't change clock batteries, or the time for Daylight Savings - you are courting discovery of your hide-worthy objects.

When received, the second hand had fallen off and the paper clock face was spun around off center. Pretty cheap Chinese quality, but when I put it back together, and put a battery in it, it ticked (loudly). Pay attention to the inner dimensions when considering what you'll put in it. The face is 10 inches in diameter, but the interior compartment is 8.5 inches, and the shelves divide it into 2-3 inches, with spray-on felting. They could be broken out to make more space. I intended to use is to hide a pistol, but I calculated off the face measurement and it won't fit. I suggest you measure carefully before you buy.

Gave me something that wasn't even a book. It was full of blank pages too and it is easy to spot as not being a real book.

Bought this book safe for my daughter, as it was something she's always wanted. The book safe part is great and well constructed. Unfortunately, the actual book is not appropriate for her. She is a curious kid - she WILL read the 35+ intact pages in the book, and they're filled with the f-word, mentions of sexual acts, and other obscenities. Not to mention the book content of dark arts, human torture, and demons. Great birthday gift from mom to daughter! Ugh.

I wish that the hidden compartment was more in the middle of the book. There are like 4 pages and then the compartment. Once you open it, you can see it which sorta defeats the purpose.

Good price, nice book. The "safe" is super thin plastic crap that wasn't even secured into the book. If they improved that this would be an awesome product. I replaced the "safe" with a wooden box I made.

Almost worthless because it is so very "thin". The middle shelf has no capacity due to the battery clock works! SO, if all you wish to store in this is rolled up, small paper objects, this baby is not for you ... ALSO, it is entirely made of plastic.

Well mine hasn't broke yet....but it did come with several clock-face papers inside, so I had to open it up and remove 3 and leave one. There was no hardware or tracing guide, just instructions to a clock safe that HAS a semi-real lock on it. Based on reading other reviews I'm going to massively "constructionally" modify it's structure, hinge and clasp before I even attempt to pick it up again!!!

Flimsy front clock/cover. extends too far from wall. shelf dimensions are incompatible with credit cards and most others things one would store inside, except perhaps loose change, but who needs a safe for nickels & dimes?. Would not buy again. Clock works fine though.

Yup, mine as the others stated broke within a week. It won't stay closed, which kinda defeats the idea of hiding a set of keys in it, with the doors constantly swinging open & exposing the keys!Awesome idea- BAD craftsmanship.Honestly-Look elsewhere for another brand of Clock or Wall Safe unless you want to duct tape it closed.It wasn't worth it for me to return this for a replacement with the same problem. So, duct tape to the rescue (my fix).

I've had it for less than a week & the second hand got stuck on 47-seconds so it has said that it's 4:33 for 2 days... I spun the other ones (it now says 5:21) but the second-hand won't get un-stuck... I haven't even gotten it on my wall yet and already it's creating a cause for people to grab it and try to adjust the time (at which point they'd discover the secret-part...It's "good enough" as far as looks, the idea behind it is great, but the actual implementation kind of sucks... Worse yet, I can't return it because I don't have the box (I had to get rid of it, because it was massive and bright and obvious and people would see the box and start paying closer attention to my clocks)I think it'd be less hassle to just cut a hole in my wall & cover it with a picture or another clock... :(AND it looks like a bulky old clock, rather than something modern and stylish... it's got a silver border, but the 2-inch-deep back of it looks a little excessive "for a clock"... :/ It'd be super-cool to make that part recessed into the wall, lol... don't order this - it's a piece of trash. In the past I received a real book that had a carved out space for hiding valuables. What I received this time was a 'fake' book that was completely hollow an did not look like anything else in my bookshelf - I am very very disappointed and will be contacting Amazon to both complain about this item and demand a refund. This looks NOTHING like the photo and is a rip off. donot order this item from this company!

What I received has nothing to do with what it was offered. I received a simple box trying to resemble a book. Actually, the Item I've received is just an empty box.

Total crap. Looks fake the book jacket cannot be easily removed or replaced. Not worth the money

I got 5 of these, all at once, all the same title came. Which would have been fine, except that the titles contain DEATH in them, which makes these unacceptable to give as gifts as I had planned; would be completely inappropriate for the recipients. You should be able to choose what title you would like. I knew the titles would vary, and that I had no control over it, I just was hoping for the best and didn't get it. I don't know what I'll do, because return shipping would have to be paid by me. NOT satisfied, cannot recommend this product. :(

I don't know what you can keep in this other than money or small jewelry. I wanted to hide my gun in it but this is not made for that at all. I just threw it on the shelf, maybe I'll hide money from myself one day.

It was broken upon arrival.. had to reattach the arms, to the clock.

Hinges of the door/face of the clock is broken, like every time u open it...it breaks more. Not very stable hinges. Unless you're handy u could probably fix it, otherwise don't get it. Also the clock is severely slow & I put a new battery in it, ridiculous!!

A review on this item would be impossible. The reason being that it arrived in at least 30 pcs.. Didn't open it until after x-mas because I fell ill for several weeks a couple of days before x-mas. Box looked fine and couldn't tell there was anything wrong until opening it. Glad it wasn't givin as a present to someone as had been my intention. Well it's some where in a re-cycle facility now.

The back is made of super thin cheap plastic and my 8 year old broke it on day one.

This item isn't made well and stands out like a sore thumb. A big disappointment. It doesn't even close properly. It came warped. A real piece of junk! It even makes too much noise and draws attention to its self.

clock worked fine, it did eat batteries though so a few times I thought it was broken because no normal battery would be dead so fast but it actually ran fine. It still runs now except it is in two pieces, I opened and shut this clock under 25 times before the hinge broke and the clock face ripped off so it is worthless now.
