Five Star Reviews: | 41% There are no reviews yet | 62% Booked Safe. May 16, 2017 Great little book to hide all your valuables. Also Blends in very well in a bookshelf with different types of books. Personally stay away from the bright colors the blue and black seem to work the best cuz they been the easiest. Overall a very good buy at a cheap price. Great product! January 29, 2016 I bought this for my aunt after her house was broken into and most of her good jewelry was stolen. When I got it I noticed that it really looks like a book and hold quite a bit of jewelry. If anyone ever breaks in again (hopefully that will never happen again) they will not be looking in the bookshelf and her things will be safe. This seems obvious to say but don't keep it next to your jewelry box or near your jewelry. Just put it on tn bookshelf in plain sight where it will be overlooked. So good I had to write a review... August 7, 2015 I wanted to write a review so that people wouldn't be dissuaded from the negative ones. The lettering is straight, bold and visible enough to make it look authentic in a drawer with clothes ( where I put mine ) or standing on a shelf with other books. I like the fact that it included two keys ( not locked inside ) I have one on me at all times the other hidden. Its big and deep enough to fit my tablet, birth certificate, a few money orders and cash inside an envelope with room to spare. It was convincing enough that two of my friends purchased one as well. Don't think on its own out in the open it'll fool anyone but with a sturdy metal build inside and hiding it from sight Im confident enough that my items are safe. Besides the receipt to my USPS money orders are in a separate location so if anyone finds it and steals it I get refunded. Its not sealed to prevent water from getting in so I placed the really important items in a zip lock bag first. I would definitely recommend it as I already have, especially at this price point. Exceeded my expectations for a $13 device. Great for dorm room security July 24, 2015 It's been great for my daughter's dorm room. She keeps this in her drawer and stores her more private/valuable items in here for an added layer of security. Sturdy and subtle, people complain about the obviously plastic sides but if it's laying down in a drawer no one will notice unless they pick it up. Fits a wallet, passport, and other assorted small papers or pieces of jewelry. It's been very convenient and she loves it, she plans to use it again next year. Wonderful Product!!! July 4, 2015 Just got mine today. It's wonderful!!! Came in a sealed package. Had no damages whatsoever. I must say I was very worried after reading all the negative reviews. Frankly, I was expecting something that was partly damaged and barely serving the purpose. But what I received was beyond my expectations. It's exactly as it looks. I am also uploading a few pics. It's quite big and heavy. Appears to be quite strong. I could fit my iPad mini inside it with almost an inch of clearance at both the top and bottom ends.Overall I am very happy and pleased with it. But I think this makes a great gift for older elementary students (4th-5th grade) May 12, 2015 If you're trying to find a safe to hide your most valuable possessions, look elsewhere. But I think this makes a great gift for older elementary students (4th-5th grade). It is fun and it feels special to have a little space that only they can open. It comes with 2 keys, so for parents who like to have an option to open it just in case, they can keep one key ;)I personally used this when I created my own version of the real-life game "Escape the Room" (kids get 'locked' in a room and they have to find a series of clues and solve them to find the key to escape. it helps with teamwork and critical thinking. Of course, I was in the room to make sure they were safe and to guide them if necessary). I hid one important clue in this safe and put it with the other books and encyclopedias in the room. The kids had NO idea and they LOVED finding this! |
Four Star Reviews: | 24% There are no reviews yet | 19% Stash It July 19, 2017 Not bad. Anything more than a cursory glance would reveal that this is not a real book, but it should work well in a bookcase surrounded by real books. Stash your stuff in a smart way. Looks good but has a metallic rattle. June 6, 2017 It's pretty cool and it certainly looks like a real book. My only beef is that it rattlers when you move it or pick it up. I haven't tried putting some rolled up appear in it. That might work. So if someone is actively looking for a stash in your house, and they check your books, the noise will certainly tip them off that this might be what they're after. Once they know that, getting into it (or getting IT out of your house) would be pretty easy.I bought mine at Walmart for the same price so maybe I got a defective one. But that's the only cxomplaint. Other than that, you probably cvan't get anything like it in that price range. Not an obvious hiding spot May 7, 2017 I bought this for my grandson's birthday, basically, as a toy. Although it doesn't quite look like a book, if you aren't looking for it, you would pass it by. It is not noticeable when it's on his bookshelf. Great little book safe December 26, 2016 Great little book safe. When you stick it up in the shelves it blends right in and nobody would be the wiser. A close look would make it pretty obvious with the plastic-molded pages, but if you just want somewhere to keep stuff away from prying eyes or the potential smash-and-grab thief, this will do the job! Good Idea Decent Design April 24, 2016 This was a great Idea to store extra cash, passports and other important items. I am unsure if all the locks are the same or if they are individually keyed. Also if someone really wanted into it all they would have to do is pry it open with a solid metal object. Still a favoriate misleading item of mine. Worth the price. Love it! Except if I open the lid and ... January 8, 2015 Love it! Except if I open the lid and don't hold it slightly open, the binding falls off. Luckily I can just glue it back if need be. But I would reccomend this!! |
Three Star Reviews: | 12% There are no reviews yet | 9% Fine. I guess. June 22, 2017 It's a metal box that looks kind of like a book and lox. That's kind of about it period however the book cover fell off in about 1.5 seconds. That doesn't really bother me but the glue which holds the fake book cover on the little metal case is certainly of the cheaper variety. Again, this is easy enough for me to glue back on but it will certainly prevent me from going above three stars. not a very good option to store money June 10, 2017 although i like the idea very much, but its quanlity is not very satisfying. it obviously look like something other than a dictionary If lying flat it looks like a toy book (the pretend pages are a plastic ... October 3, 2016 This was an impulse buy. If lying flat it looks like a toy book (the pretend pages are a plastic mold that at best is inconspicuous, but is nowhere near convincing). The cover resembled an actual book cover, so when shelved amongst other books it is effective. The glue used to adhere the spine seems like it wasn't meant to be used with metal. It cracked and separated when first opened. Two double sided adhesive strips 1in wide were used to adhere the back cover to the safe. The adhesive was only slightly strong that the kind used for post-its (Not enough to damage the paper lining the cover after separated). It completely fell apart when I tried to shelve it between 2 books. I'm not too upset because this doesn't seem like a practical purchase to begin with. If I had a purpose for it I would have to say I would be moderately disappointed. Good product for the price August 19, 2016 I do like that this product can hold a number of items inside of it, and the key is a nice touch. However, the "pages" of the book do not look very realistic so the product is not very discrete unless it is hidden behind multiple books, which is what I ended up doing. Aside from that this product does do what it says, and for the price, it is a good deal for a small "safe." IT WORKS... February 7, 2016 It ALMOST meets my expectations. The outside cover looks very real and has a small dent on the edge of it on the back. The pages look fake. They are some kind of plastic, but since the book will not be displaying the pages, that will probably not matter too much except to an observant theif and hopefully that will never happen. I would have preferred realistic looking pages that covered the safe, so when it is opened you would have to turn back the pages to get to the safe, but already know it did not have that feature. Just a heads up to prosepective buyers! The safe is a very nice size for what I need and the 2 keys lock it securely that I keep in 2 different places. I have it sitting on a table in my home office with a couple of other books between book ends. So it will work for now! Three Stars December 8, 2015 Get what you paid for, cheap but does the trick when placed with a bunch of realBooks |
Two Star Reviews: | 11% There are no reviews yet | 4% Initially it worked fine, then one day about a few weeks ago ... January 19, 2017 I purchased this item on November 29. Initially it worked fine, then one day about a few weeks ago around the end of December, the lock broke. Luckily it was jammed "open" so I was able to get to my belongings. The key goes in but refuses to turn. Sort of defeats the purpose of a "lock box" when the box won't lock. Maybe mine was just defective... Not a happy consumer! October 22, 2016 The "book" is just as described, except for how incredibly thin the internal locking part is. It is SO thin in fact that I could probably punch through it without any tools necessary. I last thing is that the paint on the bottom of the "cover" has flaked off, pretty much revealing that it is NOT a book. Very disappointing. Maybe I just got a bad one, but the flaked off paint was visible before I even removed the packaging plastic......this meaning that the paint was damaged pre-transit. Praise the English dictionary that is totally not a plastic box. May 31, 2016 Praise the English dictionary that is totally not a plastic box. This "dictionary" safe seemed like a good idea at the time of purchase, hide my money, hide my "weed"....not.... hide anything from the family and burgelers. Sadly this had poor quality control. The dictionary had a wrinkle the look like the cover was merely pasted upon the safe part and the side of it is so obvious. The side is made of plastic and looks like so...the fake pages don't even open and they look like a huge plastic line for each fake page...there's like five. The safe can be easily be broken into or pried open. It is too obvious. Please avoid this box and go to an actual safe box site and pay the little premium fee for something that will actually protect your belongings. Okay for price October 19, 2015 It is in fact a lock box and if it was sitting on a table or in a book shelf I don't think anyone would notice it was a lock box. HOWEVER, the moment anyone touched it or moved it they would know it was not a regular book because you can hear the metal inside so its not discrete in that way. Also, it says it comes with 2 keys and mine only came with 1 which also sucks. Ehh March 8, 2015 Holds 20k easily. But you should really get something better quality for that kind of money. The seams are coming apart from poor glue and it's about to just be a metal box with no disguise soon. Buy at your own risk, you have bean warned. January 20, 2015 This is a cheep book safe. BE GENTLE, because if you open the inner door to hard, the spine of the book starts to peal. It's nothing glue cant fix, but still a pain. If your looking for a cheep book safe for fun, this is your product, but is by no means high quality. |
One Star Reviews: | 12% There are no reviews yet | 6% Piece of junk March 28, 2017 Came in with a bow in the box which was a tight fit around the book. Slid out the book and same bow in the cover but since there's a metal door recessed inside thought no problem as there's no real support. But a noticeable dent on the bottom corner. When I opened the cover to 90 degrees I heard a pop and the seam along the bottom ripped. Then tried to open the metal portion and it was caught as the dent actually bent over the metal edges which I had to pry open. With that effort it finally gave way and the momentum caused metal door to bind with the book cover and the glue popped the entire spine. Made in China, didn't expect much and got even less! Dont buy this. Even if mine wasnt broken it still isnt worth discounted price August 20, 2016 Arrived broken. The cheap plastic bookcase was cracked and the metal "safe" was completely sealed shut due to an obvious manufacturing defect. Glad I didn't pay full price for this garbage. It has since been recycled. not pleased... April 26, 2016 Arrived early than expected but the lock box has a dent in the middle of it and my keys were locked inside. upsets me that I wasted my time and money This product really is not of good quality like the other reviews stated April 19, 2016 This product really is not of good quality like the other reviews stated. When I bought this safe, I thought that it would be very sturdy and come in handy with keeping some stuff in a small space and discretely where no one knew what this was. The sender did not send instructions on how to assemble the inside lock part which I thought would already come prepared. Then when I asked to return this item, the seller refused to give me a paid return slip. I paid to have the item sent to me, send me a paid shipping label like every other seller does. Whenever I return something, it is because I do not find it useful. I do not want it anymore, or I do not like how it functions. So I will not be bying anything else from this seller and I want my refund! Piece of crap. Don't bother. April 2, 2016 Took it out of the box in pieces. It was completely broken. Piece of crap. Don't bother.Update- it broke more while I was trying to glue it back together. HUGE piece of crap. Very unhappy. There's no way this piece of junk is actually worth $30. This thing feels cheap and won't blend in. DON'T Buy!!! August 28, 2015 This thing won't fool anyone. This book safe sticks out and looks cheap.I use to have a book safe that was well made and blended in, This thing is not it!This book safe has the look and feel of a cheap cardboard cereal box.I would send this back but the return window this company has on its products is extreamly short.I would steer clear of this product and this company unless you know exactly what you are getting you are taking a gamble. This product gets - stars. |
