Five Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 43% Amazing product for the price! February 26, 2013 I have loved this product since I took it out of the box!Great quality and company has great customer service. I was actually missing a piece and called the company. After sending them a copy of my receipt, they quickly (and I mean overnight!) mailed me the missing part! Excellent for the money October 16, 2011 It's made of plastic and the stands are a little short. What's not to love? This set complements my lowel hotlight set extremely well. It is lightweight, and although the lampheads are plastic, they pose no problems so far and are surprisingly resistant to abuse. I use them as fill on the subject and preset the white balance to 5500k. Or, I white balance by pointing the camera right into the diffuser when the light is on. I use my hotlights to backlight and keylight, and the 3200k temperature of the other lights creates a pleasing contrast. I like using them with or without the diffusers. They don't deliver a lot of output, but since they are so cool, they can be positioned very close to the talent without any problems, and I appreciate the perfect consistency of the softboxes. |
Four Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 43% Good purchase July 3, 2011 They are a very good purchase, i only feel that it will be great if the had more than one bulb because the light is not suficient some times to take motion pictures. Great product for the price, good customer service August 8, 2010 When I first set this up I was very impressed for what I got for the money. We use the lighting for headshots and baby sets. After about the third time I gently used this product, I noticed one for the soft boxes sagging. I took the front off to discover that one of the rivets had sheered off. I called Westcott because I didn't want to ship the whole thing back to Amazon and they sent out a replacement frame. Jennifer at Westcott is great. That is the only drawback I would say for this set is the rivets that hold the frame together. I have not had a problem since. Acceptable May 24, 2010 I found the Erin Manning Home Studio Lighting Kit to be what it was claimed to be. I found a slight problem with one of the stands in referrence to the extension section. I have not even contacted the manufacture yet (their instructions specify that procedure should there is any problem). It doesn't keep me from using the kit and have found it to help my protrait opportunities. The 85 watt fluorescent bulb is a little short on sufficient lighting - but still aids immensely. |
Three Star Reviews: | 0% There are no reviews yet | 14% Just. Don't. November 29, 2013 The lights work fine. I don't use them much, but had some headshots coming up and my old set finally gave in after ten years. I really just needed the lights themselves as I already had the stands, umbrellas, etc.The soft box is really soft. It tore in the back the first time I put it on.The stands are so cheap, I threw them away. I can't be having that *stuff* fall over on somebody. I guess I could have hung chinese lanterns from them or something...85 watt bulbs? Threw them away and replaced with two 500w. I need light. Not a desk lamp. So, yes, they seem to work fine. I should have just bought a $129 set online but I didn't have the time for shipping, etc. I hardly ever use lights and this was a short term deal. Next time I will know better. These are really cheap. |
