Side by Side Comparison of: Yoga Accessories vs Gaiam

I love these yoga blocks. I bought a single block and also a block with a strap. The blocks are sturdy and functional. I love the purple color. They complete my home yoga studio and I can take them with me when I go to an outside studio. I'm happy with this purchase.

Slightly softer than ones I've used in studios, but I got it for meditation so it's great for that...

P.S. Why don't company's make mattresses out of this material? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only yogi who hates normal mattresses. I'd buy one immediately.

I love these blocks! They matched my mat perfectly and are super strong. I'm currently working up to crow pose and I can put my full weight on these with no issues whatsoever. Plus, they are colorful and stand out in my studio, everyone knows - those blocks are mine!

Gaiam does it again! They create such good products; I have two mats from Gaiam, and when I started incorporating blocks into my practice at the studio, I looked for blocks that I could use at home as well. I shopped around (as most people do), and still decided to go with these because of their excellent design and build. They're the right size for anyone to use, they're very sturdy, and the green color is joyful to me. I highly suggest, if you're looking to start a yoga practice, or your needs have changed, that you get the blocks by Gaiam. I shop around, but I always come back to them because they make the best stuff, and these blocks are no exception.

This is a much heavier block than most foam blocks, which was an unexpected and great surprise! Most of the time, I feel more unstable/unsafe using light foam blocks, but heavy wood blocks are cumbersome to carry around. Looks like with this block, I've found a happy medium. The decoration on the side is also beautiful. I constantly have people in group classes asking me where I got this.

I don't use this for yoga, but I use it for sitting on while meditating. It is a perfect seat for kneeling, but if you are wanting to sit with legs crossed, the corners start to dig in and cut off circulation a bit.

Liked it a lot, but mine came with a dent in it. Guess I should have returned it, but did not want to part with it. A bit pricier than others though. If you get one damaged, exchange for a perfect one. Don't be like me.

I bought two of these Gaiam branded yoga blocks and were very pleased. I was initially enamored by more expensive blocks but went to a local store first to try different brands. As a beginner there didn't seem to be any difference and I went back online to buy these. The price is very affordable and are great for getting into a pose and staying there a bit longer. The embossed brick I got was beautiful and the pattern is calming, helping to set the mood for a good practice.

Being extra dense, this yoga block is great for many poses and exercises as it provides enough stability to hold my body weight. The only downfall with the extra density, is that it is not comfortable for sitting on for long periods of time. So as long as you don't plan on using the yoga block as furniture, I highly recommend it!

These blocks are pretty good. I like the soft texture, and beveled edges. They are a little less firm than the blocks I'm used to at a yoga studio. Due to the material they're also pretty light so may be just a little wobbly. However, the dimensions are right and they definitely serve my purposes. The color is also very nice. For the price they're a great deal.

Much softer(flexier) than the old version by Gaiam. I was disappointed. Not sure how to find the nice hard ones that they used to make.

I must have misread the small print, but I thought that the block I ordered was a set of two, so I was sadly disappointed to open the box and find that there was only one block enclosed. I will order another one, but just disappointed that it wasn't made clear this was ONE block and not a set of 2.

It's o.k., but a little too soft for my liking. My wrists sink down/over-extend too much to be comfortable. I would suggest getting the cork version of these yoga blocks.

This block is a LOT softer than I expected. It is so soft I feel like there isn't really much stability in it, so I would not use them in a standing pose, or anything where you would want them to have any signifigant amount of weight (even an arm in triangle or something). They are fine to rest your head on, or something like that, but too soft to be good in most poses. They are very light though, which can be nice. They are fragile - mine are covered in dings even from short term basic use, and if you have a pet that gets ahold of these they will be ruined.

OK for certain poses.. I do not recommend it for support... for that I had to get the cork ones..

This is too soft, If you practice a pose and use the block to steady you the block give in. I teach and find that the density is lousy and it ought to be removed from this type of use. I regret my purchase. Gaiam used to sell better quality. I have been told that the difference at manufacturing is literally pennies per block. to be avoided. the second star is for the nice color...

This yoga block was a little squishy. I don't know if they come in different densities or if every batch of blocks is different due to processing. I have one Gaiam block at home and it is noticeably firmer. Also the color of the block is much lighter than the picture. I would have kept them if they were firmer regardless of the color!

It's not firm enough, so it doesn't give enough stability when I use it in poses, such as supported bridge or splits. I'll be getting the hugger mugger foam one instead.

This are just really soft blocks. Get scratches really easy, my guess is they won't last very long. Overpriced. Buy it only if you need them for restorative yoga or to sit on.

These are much lighter than the blocks I am used to using at my gym and yoga classes. I would return them if I could but I have already tried them. I generally use yoga blocks for extra support but these don't feel supportive at all. They all somehow seem smaller than the block I am used to.

The material/foam used for this block is very cheap and not very durable. I used them for one pose and they already had tiny indents and scratches on them from the hardwood floor. Also the foam is too soft for any kind of real support.

The Gaiam Yoga Block has a "2 pack" sign next to the block in the picture. I thought I was purchasing two blocks. One block arrived. The advertising was not clear and I would have opted for a different purchaser if I knew it was only one block. Comparatively, the other sellers had better prices for one block.
