Sharp outer edge on the mouth! Fixable and not too worrisome, but beware!
October 13, 2017
I prefer the narrow mouth, especially for hiking, as I can easily prevent spills while on the go. The large mouth bottles allow easier filling, storing things other than water, and a splashguard might fix drinking while walking problems, but I still think this narrow mouth bottle has its place in my pack. The size is pretty standard. There is one problem that I found with the bottle; not significant enough to drop a star, but it is important! The lip of the mouth has an inner taper to prevent a sharp edge from cutting your mouth, but the outer edge is NOT tapered and is noticeably sharper (Refer to my pictures). A little sandpaper makes easy work of knocking down this edge, but I would really like to see this taken care of.Note: It is difficult to identify the inner taper via my pictures, but the outer edge is quite evidently sharp.
Why didnt i buy this sooner?
August 11, 2016
I had previously purchased the wide mouth bottle & I loved it, but when driving I have spilled some on me (as well when there's ice in the bottle). I decided to look for a new bottle and came across this one. I had to get it. It had what i was looking for. The mouth is smaller so no spilling and it is the Same size (32oz) as the wide mouth. It's worth every cent! Love the color too. I am so happy with my purchase. Love Nalgene water bottles!
The only bottle brand I use!
April 19, 2016
Nalgene is always high quality - I bought this bottle for my boyfriend who doesnt like the wide mouths but wants to start drinking more water throughout the day - I love the color variations (everyone has a favorite color). The only down side to this bottle is that its quite hard to clean, however, I say that if you are only drinking water in it (which is what its for) then you can just pop some dish soap in there and give it a shake - As long as you treat it right, it will treat you right!
I love this water bottle
January 13, 2016
I love this water bottle! It's an amazing size (32 oz) and can help me easily reach the water drinking goals I set for myself every day due to the size. Just telling myself to drink 2-3 of these bottles full every day is very helpful. The color "trout green" is a gorgeous teal color. The kid is a nice pearly silver with an attractive shiny element, and although the connector between the lid and the bottle isn't the same colors it's a nice darker gray that looks nice in contrast with the bottle and with the lid.
Awesome, large water bottle
October 30, 2015
Awesome water bottle! Love it. The opening is a great size. I hate drinking out of wide mouth bottles because I always get water up my nose. However, it is a large enough opening for the dishwasher to spray inside well enough to rinse out a stale taste. I think if it was just a little larger (like the size of a Gatorade bottle), it would be perfect. Only downside is that the base is too large for most cup holders, however, that is by design. I'm not sure if I could find any 1 liter water bottles that would fit securely in a cup holder.
Great Bottle
March 18, 2013
Nalgene durability makes this a great bottle, as well as the mouth, which is more than wide enough to provide a large flow of water (but not as wide as wide mouth bottles which make drinking difficult). I use two nalgene bottles on a frequent basis for going to the gym. I use this for water, and a wide mouth nalgene for protein shakes, as the wide mouth makes it easy to dump scoops of protein into it. Both have very large capacities, which is great for holding a large amount of liquid. This holds a bit more than a quarter of a gallon, which is a lot of fluid. The measuring lines are also great.I've used this, a wide mouth nalgene, a klean kanteen, and a nissan intak. The nissan intak is made of the same plastic, but it tends to shatter easier because of the less durable design (nalgene tritan's are cylindrical which is more sturdy and durable). Nissan intak had a better spout, but this is more than comfortable enough, its also more durable. The klean kanteen was great, but smells and tastes would permanently stick to the metal and no amount of cleaning would get them out. It also would get innumerable dings and dents in it that couldn't be fixed. My nalgene took the same beatings or worse and emerged with just a few cosmetic scratches. Nalgene bottles are in my opinion, hands down the best bottles you can get. They'll last you forever.

Ice cold water for biking
September 25, 2017
I love these bottles! I have 2 and bought one for my mother. I take them biking and kayaking. When I take long bike rides I'll freeze one with water overnight. The other bottle I fill with ice cubes and water before I go out. The insulation has worked great for me. Sometimes too good on the one that was frozen... as it's still mostly a giant ice cube when I'm ready to drink it! I find the bottles do sweat, but since I'm using them while riding it's not a problem for me. I find it very easy to pull them out of my bottle holders and drink while I am riding. My mom loves her bottle too. It works much better at insulating than whatever old bottle she used before.
Keep Water a Little Cooler
September 17, 2017
This is a quality water bottle and does keep the water a little cooler than previously owned bottles. This bottle does not keep liquid cold. Such a bottle would be heavier and larger. It fits in my bottle cages tightly......however, I do have metal cages that can be slightly bent to accommodate small variations in bottle size. Over all a good product at a good price.
pretty cool, actually
August 31, 2017
I bought two. If you are wondering why the colors are muted, the outer layer is a milky plastic, the image is from a sheet of Mylar in the insulating space... pretty cool, actually.
Good product
August 16, 2017
I am happy as it kept my water very cold, better than any other water bottle I've had before. I thought that the lid was defective, but as it turns out, I was using a lid from another bottle. Now I'm happy.
Works great!
August 3, 2016
I was suprised when I left this in my hot truck for 1 1/2 hours and it still had a lot of ice in it!
This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned
September 7, 2015
This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned! Wish I had known about these sooner. Wide mouth, 24oz capacity, no plastic taste, tough (removable) loop for more mounting options and insulation keeps my drink cold for a longer amount of time! My only gripe is the the mouthpiece is a bit stiff... not nearly enough to remove a star though. Great product for the price!

Like a portable cup. The future is now.
June 19, 2017
Well it definitely holds water, so that's a plus. But it only gets four stars because it's super hard to clean it though the smaller mouth hole. But that's the price you pay not to spill water all down your front.
Daily driver water bottle
September 26, 2016
Very durable water bottle. Daily use. However, after almost a year of daily use, the hook portion of the bottle tore off of the cap so I had to order another bottle.Other than that love these water bottles.Be sure to wash them, after a multiple uses of water and adding flavoring it can start to stink. Just put in the dish washer.
I'd probably go narrower
February 7, 2016
The bottle that I got is much like that of the old style Gatorade bottles. It doesn't fit normal size drink holders. I like everything about it except 2. It is nice & smooth & for me I have to use 2 hands to shake it up where I could use one on the Gatorade bottles. In addition, the neck could taper a little more to aid in better control while drinking.I use my to premix medication & the powdered Gatorade & I love the fact, after shaking it a couple of times & letting it sit, the powder & my meds do not stick / settle at the bottom.
Simple, durable, great!!!!
October 6, 2015
I've been using Nalgene bottles for years and was due for some new ones so picked these up for FAR cheaper than in stores around here. I specifically wanted the narrow mouth ones because I'm in the military and these are easier to drink out of while on the move, also while driving on bumpy roads!!!These things are bomb proof and will last forever structurally. Keep them away from fire of course but otherwise they'll take a beating. If I had to pick cons of these it would be the markings on the side do tend to wear off pretty easily, which makes measuring fluids difficult, and sure with the narrow mouth you lose the easy ability to dump things like beverage mixes in without a funnel or the like. But that's an expected trade off.Over all I love Nalgene though and never plan to use anything else for hydration needs.
Like the shape, plastic wears out over time.
August 31, 2012
I have had this bottle in pink for about 3 years and use it every day. I do put it in the dishwasher every night to sanitize it. I like the shape and the narrow mouth make it easier to drink (easier than the other nalgene bottles) This bottle has also accompanied me on at least 5 trips to europe and now gets hung on the strap of my diaper bag.Just last week. the plastic holding the top on finally broke. I really used the heck out of it and the bottle is still in perfect shape. I love it so I will continue to use it but it definitely is limited now since I cant hang it on the outside of my bag. My mother and sister have the same bottles and love them as well. I wish the plastic top had held up longer!
Not as good as it used to Be
November 3, 2010
I have been a fan of Nalgene's lexan bottles for years they are nearly unbreakable, never leak, and they don't hold taste. I ordered this when someone accidentally melted my old unit, a wide mouth variant. The first concern I have is this product feels much cheaper than my old nalgene's the plastic flexes very easily and there is a clear seam on the side of the bottle not visible on any of the other older nalgene's I have seen. The other thing that really kept this from a five was the new unit holds taste, I have high chlorine in my tap giving my water a "sweet" taste I filter it with my brita, however, one day not having the time I filled from the tap the water was in there for a few hours after cleaning and refilling with fresh water the taste is still there. I remember having water in my wide mouth bottle for weeks than simply pouring the old water and adding new and not noticing any taste, this was true for other things as well e.g. soda, energy drinks, muscle milk etc. I still say this is a far superior option to the competition the plastic is wonderful in the sauna as it doesn't retain heat as well and thus doesn't burn your lips as the aluminum bottles do. My suggestion get them while they are at some quality my guess in 5 years well have leak poor tasting bottles made outside Rochester.

Pretty good
August 7, 2017
The insulation seems to take up a fair amount of volume, decide for yourself whether you'd have colder water for a brief time period or more water overall. We take it on bike rides and stop infrequently for water so the temperature is the same as our non-insulated bottle. The insulation also makes it hard to squeeze to get water out (minor complaint). Also it has a pull cap that has opened or been left opened and leaked in my car and places. That being said its a good bottle, we just prefer the camelback non-insulated one we have with the jet valve opening, I mostly got this one to try and it was cheaper.
Good size, fits bike holder
June 23, 2017
Good size, fits bike holder, better insulation than average sports bottle. Would rate it higher if it insulated better, but since it's not rigid it can't have a vacuum sealed insulation. I am pleased with it.

Cheap-ish but cute and easy to clean. Great for biking or when unscrewing a lid is inconvenient.
Works but there are better!
June 28, 2016
Does as is should but there are better in the same price range but being that this works I give it 4 and knock a star for others being better go for a thermos insulated bottle I bought one on Amazon $1 more and it keeps drinks cooler longer but holds less!
Solid
March 22, 2016
Holds a good amount, has an indentation that allows it to clip in and feel secure in the bottle cage and looks nice. Keeps drinks cold for longer than an uninsulated bottle, but I can't say I was wowed by how long it stayed cold/semi frozen when I filled it with half ice and half water on my hour and a half ride around noon on an 80 degree sunny day. Better than the alternative but nothing too surprising. Still a good product and good price.
This is a nice bicycling bottle
August 14, 2015
This is a nice bicycling bottle. Bottle top is the same style that all of us grew up with. No fancy valve or twist knob. Pull and go. The polar lining I was skeptical about that it would stay cooler longer. So I put it up against a camel back podium which I love and is another sleek bottle. I froze both bottles the night before close to full. The next day I took them in my hot car to do errands around town. It took about 6 hours for the camel back podium to completely melt. The polar bottle had about 1/4-1/5 of ice still in the bottle. After about 7 hours it was fully melted. So it does keep things cooler than other bottles. The handle loop on the polar is nice to hook it to a backpack or bike. I like that the polar has 24 oz over the podium at 22 I believe. A few extra ounces is nice to have on a hot day.

I left some crystal light in here for 3 days and it grew mold! Totally my fault for not cleaning it but EXTREMELY hard to remove because the mouth piece is so small. I love nalgene but wouldn't recommend the small bottle top, I have no dishwasher because I live in the college dorms so its impossible to hand wash thoroughly.
I love the color on this bad boy
October 11, 2015
I love the color on this bad boy! And of course, it's a Nalgene so great durability. After having this bottle for a bit, a few things led me to buy another model. The narrow mouth, while great for avoiding wet tees is tough to clean as efficiently as a wide mouth. And it is literally the slightest sliver too small for most ice cubes from machines to fit in there.
Recommend Nalgene bottles; Narrow mouth bottle is a pain to clean
December 2, 2014
Quality product! I used to use this bottle everyday filling up once in the morning and once after lunch. What made me stop using this bottle was the narrow mouth. Although I prefer the narrow mouth for drinking, it is a pain to clean. Started to smell and had to be replaced with a Nalgene wide-mouth. Definitely recommend Nalgene bottles because they are very durable.
Ah - it's ok
November 5, 2013
So, I got this bottle to drink more water at work. Great idea. Until I brought the bottle into work and only then realized the weirdly shaped ice cubes we have at work won't fit into the opening on this bottle. So, I use it for my morning Beachbody Shakeology drink instead. Also, this bottle is difficult to clean thoroughly. Next time I will go with the wide mouth.
Grew weary of efforts to remove persistent odors
July 2, 2013
I cannot say that there is anything functionally wrong with my Nalgene Tritan, but I've grown weary of having to go out of my way to remove persistent odors from whatever beverage I choose to store in it. The usual & customary hand/dish wash doesn't get out most odors (execute a general search on "nalgene odor" and you'll see what I mean). Perhaps it's better suited as a h2o-only bottle. That said, I gave up the ghost and purchased a Kleen Kanteen (from Amazon) which is made from food-grade stainless steel and has proven much easier to keep clean and fresh.

I thought this thing was supposed to keep your water "ice cold" for hours and it really doesn't. I filled it with cold water and ice, and left for an expedition. After about 2 hours of being in the sun my water was slightly chilled at best, and room temperature by the time I got home. Also it really doesn't fit that much water, especially once you put ice in there.
OK
September 21, 2017
Doesn't keep liquid cold for as long as I would like. It would seem that if you fill it with 50% ice and 50% cold water, you should still have a bit of ice left after a couple of hours, but not so. I don't live in the desert either, Long Beach CA so it is not that hot. Still, it is better than a non-insulated bottle, and it does hold 24 ounces.
... because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water
July 25, 2017
First thing I did was throw the caps these came with in the trash because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water, even if you froze the bottles overnight and put ice cubes in at the same time, are room temperature within 20 minutes. It's actually impressive how the insulation seems to have a warming effect while I'm out on rides.Get a lot of compliments on those American flags though.

Looks bad
March 8, 2017
The picture does not do this item justice. The insulation for the bottle is super winkled and it just looks junky. If it's more important to you that you have a cold drink for a long time, this is for you. If it's more important to you to have a nice looking bottle, stay away.
Cheap and works reasonably well
November 2, 2016
This is a pretty good, insulated water bottle; not perfect but again, pretty good.Positives: cheap, nice thumb/hand grip to pull it out of the cage, and acceptable insulation keeping liquids cold.It is very easy to clean, unlike the complex Camel Back model.Negatives: when full, it is hard to get a good draw of liquid. When full of iced liquid the bottle is very stiff.Looking for another one. Any ideas out there?

NALGENE Tritan 1-Quart Narrow Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle,GrayI bought this "narrow mouth" bottle nearly a year AFTER my "wide mouth" and alternate them on a day-to-day basis, however, yesterday the "narrow mouth" bottle disintegrated after I dropped it on the floor. I use both bottles equally and both have faced the same daily wear-and-tear, yet my "wide mouth" bottle has literally nothing wrong with even after an additional year of use. Extremely disappointed that this happened. It seems like the "narrow mouth" bottles have cheaper construction, so I would recommend getting the "wide mouth" bottle and purchasing a third party "narrow mouth" top
Water tastes like plastic if left in bottle more than one day
February 24, 2015
If water sits in bottle for more than one day, it starts tasting stale and plasticy. In contrast, if I use a regular water bottle that would cost about $1 it tastes fine if I refill it with the same water that I use for the Nalgene bottle.
At first I liked it..
April 27, 2014

So So . . .
September 11, 2017
I found that it is hard to get the water out of the bottle as compared to other generic type of water bottles. The other issue I found was that the water had a 'plastic' taste to it. Not sure whether this was because it was new or not.
Not as described by reviewers
August 17, 2017
After reading the many reviews, I order this Polar Insulated Bottle. The reviews stated "the liquid stays cold and the container does not sweat". Well, the liquid didn't stay cold even a few hours with ice in it and the bottle did sweat. I will be returning this item.

Comfortable easy grip bottle, firm no leak cap, but not happy with the ability to keep drink cold. Insulated is a joke, non insulated is as good.
I suggest finding a different bottle
January 27, 2016
Unfortunately I’m not thrilled about his bottle. I was hoping this would work great for keeping my water cool on hot summer bike rides in the Utah desert, especially after reading so many positive reviews. To be fair, the insulation is decent. Don’t expect anything INCREDIBLE, but it is noticeably better than a simple plastic water bottle. Unfortunately that’s the extent of my notable positives with this bottle. Here are my two main gripes:1. The screw-on top worked great for the first month or so, but after that it started to leak. At first I thought the drips were just from excess water that had found its way around the rim and inside the top when I was filling it up, but after carefully drying the top and the rim, a test proved that the bottle does, indeed leak. I have only hand washed it, so it’s not from the bottle warping in the hot dishwasher.2. My experience differs from others as this bottle doesn’t fit in my standard bicycle water bottle holder. Here’s the one I use: Planet Bike 6.2 mm Welded Aluminum Bicycle Water Bottle Cage. Even using this on my road bike and going over very few bumps I’m constantly having to reach down and readjust it so it doesn’t fall.I’ve heard the Camelbak insulated water bottle works great, although I’ve never used one myself. If I were interested in spending more money, I would probably test that one out. At any rate, I don’t recommend this one.
Can't hold up to Arizona heat
October 2, 2013
I needed an insulated water bottle that could keep water cold in the most extreme of conditions: over-100-degree-F Saturdays in Phoenix, Arizona. This bottle wasn't up to snuff. Water that came directly out of the refrigerator at the time I filled the bottle is, after just one hour, so warm that you can't tell it was ever cooled in the first place. I even put two ice cubes in with the water once just to see if that would slow down the rise in temperature. No such luck: after an hour in the desert heat, the water was as warm as it always is--in fact, as warm as it used to be when I was using a plastic water bottle with NO insulation at all. Isn't insulation supposed to make SOME difference? The stuff in this bottle doesn't. The funny thing is that when I fill my Camelbak backpack with *uncooled* room-temperature water from the tap, and then I fill my Polar bottle with *refrigerated* water (I always take both the Camelbak and the Polar bottle together on my two-hour bike rides), after an hour or two of riding in the sun, the water in the Camelbak tastes much cooler than the water in the Polar bottle...even though the latter was originally refrigerated and the former was not! So a backpack that is *not* expressly designed to keep water cool actually keeps it cooler than an insulated bottle that *is* designed to keep it cool. I think I'd better keep looking for a better bottle. This one failed the test.

October 3, 2017
This is actually the worst insulated bottle I have ever had. I filled it with ice and refrigerated tea and set out on some errands. It's a cool day, only in the low 60s, and ALL of the ice had completely melted in less than 2 hours. By hour 3 my drink was no longer even cool. I did not leave it sitting in the sun either. I will stick with Hydro Flask, more expensive but totally worth it.
Another inferior water bottle
October 3, 2017
This bottle has been leaking where the cover meets the bottle. Thought it just needed the cover to be readjusted and sometimes it seemed ok but other times it would leak and sometimes a lot. Very disappointed especially since the return window is closed and it took me this long to realize it's the bottle and not the way I'm putting the cover on. I will add it to my graveyard of water bottles. ☹️
Former fan of these

I've used these for years and have loved them. Eventually after years, the water began to taste strange, and I would order another. I recently bought another and in only a couple of months, with not very heavy use, the water is undrinkable. I won't buy another.

September 14, 2017
The red color looks like an aluminum foil wrap over a plastic bottle.... and the wrapping is not smooth or attractive. A bad wrap job and it makes the bottle look cheap. As far as cooling... doesn't keep a drink cold, even with ice cubes for more than an hour. Don't waste your money if you really want an insulated drink bottle that will keep your drink cold for longer than an hour. Disappointed.

Not worth the hype
June 12, 2017
It doesn't keep your liquid contents cold for more than an hour and if you put ice in it I guarantee you it will sweat rivers. The bottle is difficult to drink from as well unless you want to stand there letting it drip the contents into your mouth a half teaspoon at a time you have to suck it out or squeeze the bottle hoping it regains its shape after. Also unless you screw down the lid with all you might it will leak under the lid.
