Very nice reflective quality
November 6, 2016
Used to make a Halloween mirror. Great reflective quality.
Unique effect, price fits the norm
June 2, 2016
This paint is amazing! It has been on my craft wish list for a while now. For some reason, it's been impossible to find in my area, so I was pleased to be able to order it from Amazon.

As you can see, this paint isn't cheap. The can is much smaller than a regular can of spraypaint - 6 oz compared to the average 11 oz. However, the unique qualities make it difficult to argue price point. I've also compared other online prices, and Amazon is in the norm.

The paint does create a mirror effect on glass or plexi, as promised, something you can not truly achieve with chrome or silver paint. Keep in mind, you must apply the paint to the back of the glass or plexi, so it will be a reverse process. You will want to apply multiple, thin, coats as drips and uneven application will ruin the effect. It dries quickly, which is perfect for impatient people - like me.
Lots of applications -- one can painted about 15 square ft. of glass.

I used this paint to refinish some tables I got for free at a thrift store. The glass tops were terribly scratched and needed some camouflage badly! I found a tutorial online that explained how to use this paint to obtain a 'mercury glass' finish. It was really easy!

All you need is water, white vinegar, a spray bottle, and some paper towel. I painted the reverse side of my glass because durability is a factor in my home.

Mix ½ water and ½ white vinegar in your spray bottle, and spritz your glass lightly until the water beads. You don't want it to be soaked, just lightly misted.

Spray a healthy, even coat of Krylon Looking Glass paint over the vinegar/water mixture until your glass is completely coated. Wait about 5 minutes for the paint to become tacky.

Spray a paper towel lightly with the vinegar/water mixture. LIGHTLY wipe the paper towel over the glass, taking care not to press too hard. The areas where the vinegar and water beaded up will come away clean, while the dry areas of the glass should still have paint attached. Allow the paint to finish drying.

I love the way my 'mercury glass' looks! I ended up using a contrasting color (Krylon's 24k Gold) as a second coat after I wiped off the first layer, because I wanted to have some color showing through. I think this would be beautiful with any contrasting metallic color. If you spray lightly, the glass will maintain some translucency.

It worked fantastically as camouflage for the scratches in the glass, you can't even see them anymore, even when you're looking for them. The finish gives a very 'glam' update to these shabby-chic tables. Great product!
Dear Looking Glass paint: I love you.

This stuff is great! I got two godawful pottery lamps with blue and pink hearts and ribbons on them, but with nice outlines, from a yard sale for $5 total. Hit 'em with this paint and they look AMAZING! Completely transformed. If it weren't so costly, I'd paint my husband with it.
Pinterest Spectacular!

I did not follow the directions on this - as posted in various DIY blog entires in various corners of the internet - because I am a rebel... and because the vases I am using for wedding centerpieces are "bud vases" and there is no way I'd be able to get this sprayed evenly on the inside and still distress it the way I wanted.
So, I was naughty and sprayed the OUTSIDE with a 50/50 water & white vinegar mixture, and then a light mist of this Looking Glass spray paint. Let dry. Repeat until you get the desired effect.
They turned out beautifully!
Highly recommended!

Interesting Finish

This paint provides a unique almost mirror-like finish. It worked out perfectly for painting pine cones that were used as part of some Christmas decorations.
Pretty Mercury Glass Effect
August 23, 2015
Product produces pretty faux Mercury glass finishes. However, it takes several coats of this pricey paint. The paint can itself is tricky to open but believe it is due to safety prevention. It's the best paint I've found for my purposes. Very pretty faux Mercury glass finish.
This is cool! The finish is very reflective
December 2, 2014
This is cool! The finish is very reflective. It's not reflective enough to use as your bathroom mirror, but it looks a little like an old mirror. I sprayed it on the backside of a window pane that I plan to hang on the wall as decor. It looks great. The only drawback is that it's not 100% opaque, meaning it looks pretty bad if any light gets behind it. I'm going to try spraying more coats on the back (the directions say 5 thin coats--I'd say 7-8 would look better). Anyway, I'm very satisfied with this product.
Mirror spray paint.

It works O.K. for the application we are using it for which is to paint 6" clear plastic plates to use as decorations. It may work a lot better on glass, but we have not tried it on glass as we didn't want the weight or cost of getting cutting glass circles made.
Great effect...small can
August 27, 2013
I wanted to do a faux mercury glass finish on a thrift store lamp. All of the tutorials I found called for this specific brand and finish of spray paint. I could not find it anywhere in stores near me! (A sentiment expressed by many of the tutorials I viewed) I found it for the best price here on Amazon. The finish turned out beautiful! I was very pleased, though for as much as it cost (especially with shipping) I wish it would have come in a normal-sized can. This is a smaller can. One was definitely enough for one medium-sized table lamp (I did two, light coats to get the effect I wanted) but I just found another identical lamp...here's hoping there is enough left in there for one more!

Its ok

Not quite as good as the online tutorials make out. Makes a fuzzy mirror. You need perfectly clean glass...old glass in and old window won't work. You spray it on the back and it kinda makes the other side a mirror
Dissappointing

Not as Shiney as I hoped. Much like using silver paint.
See for yourself. . .

Left pane was done with Krylon Looking Glass. Didn't think it turned out as nice as the "other brand."
Worked fairly well
January 11, 2017
I have an old mirror that had lost some of the backing. I used the paint where the loss was. It is reflective but not as reflective as the rest of the mirror. It's more muted/subtle. In the end it worked for me since I didn't need or want a pristine look.
Good for art, not for high quality mirrors
October 23, 2016
First time I tried turned out horrible, but was my fault for not reading the directions. The second time I followed the instructions exactly and turned out much better, but was far from perfect. I started with four pieces of clear glass. Glass #1 got 5 coats, but was coated twice as much as the other 3 each time (one stripe across, then one back). Was the coated with a black backing. Glass #2 got 8 thin coats, then gray backing. Glass #3 also got 8 thin coats, then black backing. Glass #4 got 10 thin coats and a black backing. Glass #1 was the worst turn out with little reflection. Glasses #2-4 were pretty much equal quality with maybe a slight advantage to glass #4. Even though I could see myself clearly in #2-4, all had a white "hazing". Not high enough quality for redoing a nice mirror, but would work great for art projects or pieces that do not require high quality for the reflective side.

Sadly, if you want to use this on something that you need to clean (I used Windex), it rubs right off.
Mirror silvering repair

difficult to use for a repair. Probably would work better as a totally new application.
Not mirror finish
October 19, 2016
I was a disappointed this wasn't the mirror like finish. The labels on these two different cans are so similar and this very confusing to make sure you're getting the right one.
Don't bother.
October 7, 2015
Can't get this to look like anything remotely like glass or even a shiny silver. I should have just bought regular silver spray paint. My advice? Don't bother.
too expensive for results.
December 3, 2013
It takes A LOT of coats to get a solid look. And for the price per can- that's a lot of money for not a lot of projects. I tried several different glass projects and I lost more of the spray than actually stuck to the item. Overall- too expensive for the results.
