Great price and Great Quality
February 2, 2016
This IP camera was extremely easy to setup! It took me about 2 minutes right out of the box. I am well versed in security surveillance and was extremely skeptical when ordering. Rest assured that you are definitely getting a quality camera. Even though it is 720P, it has great image quality and little to no distortion. The application is easy to use for my android device (Galaxy Note 4). The Wifi Range was not an issue with me. I have it set up outside and it is approximately 200ft from my back door. I will be ordering multiple cameras!
A super performing well built indoor/outdoor wifi camera for only $57
November 9, 2015
Excellent resolution and that's on wireless! Good wifi range. In total darkness 720p image is fantastic as well as in light, for $57 a great price and value. Works on Android & iOS apps besides PC. For a quick install, and many features use Blue Iris (paid) software and set camera to Foscam brand. Email tech support from IdeaNext is fast and accurate. Get it before it is discovered and the price goes up!
Had a few initial issues but worked through it and it works GREAT!
November 5, 2015
Bought this camera and had some problems getting it linked to my home wifi initially. I contacted their support through email and got a prompt response with clear instructions on how to resolve my issue. So, after a few little changes and stepping through the video again the camera is up and working. . .quite well I might add. I think the camera and their support organization is great. I'm going to probably order a few more of these for other parts of our property. I would recommend this camera to others.
Surprised at the quality.
October 8, 2015
For the price I felt like I was taking a risk with this camera. Glad to find out that my fears were unfounded. The setup was fine, and I've got this mounted outside looking over my back yard. It's connected wirelessly for the moment, but i do intend to have it connected via cat5 when I run the wires. It works great with Blue Iris, just have to set it up as a foscam FI86xx compatible. The IR leds below the camera lens give it great night time viewing range, and strangely enough the hummingbirds seem to like it, as I've got quite a few videos of them popping up and looking into the camera. Video quality isn't too bad, certainly better than the analog cameras my workplace uses. It's also handy that they included the power adapter and mounting hardware. IdeaNext even sent me a message not long after the camera arrived asking how it's doing. I can't comment on the app they recommend to monitor the camera via phone, as the mobile blue iris is what I'm using. I've also got the cloud viewing disabled, but at least if something happens to my NVR I can utilize that as a backup. I'll definitely look at ordering a few more.Update 12/7/15: Since my original review, I've permanently mounted the cameras, and run Cat5e cables to their own dedicated fast ethernet network switch, and Blue Iris is running on a dedicated PC. So far, with a few tweaks, they have been running flawlessly. Some of the issues I've noticed: the auto night mode doesn't want to auto. Despite having it set to auto through the camera's on-board configuration, as well as through B.I., it wasn't switching to night mode. I got around that by putting a schedule in where B.I. tells the cameras to switch to night mode in the evenings and back to day mode in the mornings. In addition, one of the cameras, while in night mode, will not go over 7.5 frames per second, while the other is sticking to 15fps, and they both have identical settings, both on-board and in B.I. I've tried remotely rebooting the camera and B.I., and it helps for a day, then it reverts to 7.5 again. When its on daytime mode, it's a solid 15fps. Go figure...And here's a tip: It's extremely IMPORTANT to set the cameras with a static IP address, both in the camera's on board settings, as well as your router. If not, and the router reassigns the IP address when the lease expires, you'll lose your connection to the camera and have to figure out what the new IP address is.So, even with the minor issues above, I still stand by the 5 star rating.Update 4/8/2016: The cameras have still been working great up until today, one camera is showing a very pink picture. You can still see the image, but it's like black and white and it's pink instead of greyscale. To me it looks like the IR filter is stuck, and I've sent a message to IdeaNext describing the issue and asking about warranty details. I'm not home right now so I can't go and cycle the power on the camera to see if that clears it. Will add more as I hear back from the seller.
Great camera!
September 24, 2015
I have to admit I wasn't really expecting much from this wifi camera. I needed something to watch my back gate because someone kept messing with it. I have a nice new expensive security system at work that looks like crap so again I wasn't expecting much from this camera over wifi. The best part is this camera is great! It's about as far away from my wifi router as you can get and it streams beautifully and the picture quality is amazing for the price. The only drawback for me so far is the app is a little querky and has to be running on your phone to alert you to movement so no notifications if the app isn't running all the time in the background and I guess I'll have to take it down and plug it back into my router and use the QR code to make it so my girlfriend can see the camera on her phone too.Daylight and night vision picture quality is great I feel for the price. Really was impressed.
Great product. Worked exactly as described

Great product. Worked exactly as described. The video is very good, also tech support is very good and helpful. Picture quality is great even at night. I can view the live screen on my iPhone/iPad with 4G network when I'm away from home where no WiFi is available.

Easy, Clear
August 27, 2017
Easy to install - I had one several years old that was beginning to have problems, but never really completely failed. So, after purchasing a year & 1/2 ago, finally set these up (added to the one still working) & they did set up easily & work great. They do trigger with every passing car & I had to turn off the audio since it is a little too good (screen is where I sleep). Night is quite clear. You can set the video quality level & records to an sd card.

Works great outdoorsWe have had ours outside 24/7 for over a year,We live on the Oregon coast, literally on the coastline. So we get some pretty crazy weatherThe video still the sameThe audio is still the sameEverything works just the way we got itHOWEVERVery slow programming. Lags. Glitches. Even when using it online, viewing from your phone. Takes a extremely long time to connect.AlsoCameras do not go far in between your interior and exterior wallsTouch screen not very accurate.Keep having to reset date & time, even when synched and hooked up to the internet
Very nice!! Powered on, both cameras synced... Perfect!
May 11, 2016
This camera system MORE than met my expectations!! It's very easy to install, the cameras synced with the display immediately. What I really like about it is it will record sound and video in color. For the price and the quality you cannot come across a better deal.
Great for the price
April 21, 2016
Great for the price. Monitor got unplugged while I was away and it still recorded for few hours til I got home. Video and sound quality is very good! Receiver picks up camera signals great without ever cutting out! I bought a 32GB sd card to go with it and so far it has 3 days worth of video (continuous loop recording. not on motion detection). I highly recommend the 32 gb card with this system.
The audio system is excellent. As far as I could determine
January 26, 2016
This security system provided everything promised in the marketing and more. I read almost all previous reviews before buying and can only say that the 1,2, and 3 star reviewers must have submitted without fully installing the system or before reading the User Manual. The User Manual (must get online) is 60 pages and very detailed. You must read the manual to operate this system to its full potential. The four operating modes provide everything you might want from continuous surveillance to motion-triggered recording. The audio system is excellent. As far as I could determine, the system uses little power when operated in Scan Mode (motion triggered video, audio, and recording). I have experienced no interference between this system and my other electronics operating on my home network. Perhaps the only drawback for some may be the requirement to power the cameras with a 120VAC power source. But that must be accepted if you want continuous surveillance and not go bankrupt with battery costs. I recommend the Uniden UDR744!
ac adapter extension
September 14, 2015
One big problem, There was no place at all that told me the size of connectors for an ac adapter extension. Boy did I have to do some hunting for anything that would even give me a hint of a clue. The extension that was being sold along with the product was the wrong one. I finally found this is the size, 1.3mm x 3.5mm, connection size, so AMAZON sells this "Hanvex 20 ft 1.3mm x 3.5mm DC Power Adapter Extension Cable, 20AWG, White". <------RIGHT SIZE, The major part that was missing from all the info on the web site and even in Uniden's user manuals was the 1.3mm x 3.5mm, connection sizes for the Camera and AC Adapter. So here everyone goes! Its right here! If you need to add an extension cable. The one that is recommended DOES NOT WORK its to big "Hanvex 25 ft 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC Plug Extension Cable for Power Adapter, 20AWG".<-------WRONG SIZE

Happy with camera
January 28, 2016
It was easy to install for my android phone, however having issues with desk top. There were no mounting instructions so It took me a while to figure out how to mount it so it didn't look up side down. The picture is very clear and the range is good. I would like a user manual for both the phone and pc.
I like this camera and purchased a second one
October 23, 2015
I like this camera and purchased a second one. It was a little confusing setting it up first because I wanted to set it up on a desktop computer but my computer antivirus ware wanted to block loading the Activex, which I didn't do. So instead I loaded the camera to my iPad through the cloud. It works very well now and I view it on my iPad. I've only had it a few weeks but purchased another one because I couldn't beat the price. The view was good both during the day and at night. I do have one issue and I think it's just strange. The view from the camera that I receive on my iPad is a mirror image. So if anyone has an answer to that let me know. I also also wonder if i will run into other issues when I hook up the second camera. We shall see.
All in all, not bad...
October 22, 2015
I've had this camera up and running for a little over a week so far and it's been a pretty good performer. That's not to say that it's without some weaknesses, but at this price point it's a pretty good deal.Pro's: Good daytime picture, decent nighttime picture, good IR throw (I'm getting decent night images at about 40 - 50 feet), works well with Blue Iris software, easy to view once set up. The ios app is pretty good also.Con's: wifi connection drops 2-3 times per day (this may be a network issue. If it is, I'll amend this review once I identify the problem), setup was a bit tricky (instructions weren't all that great), camera is large, included software is ok for install but that's about it.All in all, I'm glad I picked this for my first camera installation. Once I figured out the setup things went pretty smoothly. Although the signal drops out occasionally it picks right back up again and is easily viewed using either the Blue Iris software or the ios app. With it's size, it isn't the stealthiest of cameras, but then again I wanted people to know it was there.
Great Camera--BAD documentation--GOOD value
October 15, 2015
Updated 11-1-2015I purchased one of these to try out. Once I overcame all the problems, I was delighted, and ordered a second. The image is fantastic and the night vision astounding. But as others have observed, the documentation is absolutely awful. I was able to figure things out with the few clues I could garner from the so-called "instructions". However, I did encounter several problems:1) After installing on my laptop, the software left a temporary folder which I cannot completely remove. It contains several AVI files which even administrator rights will not remove. This is on Windows 7--no problem on my little Windows XP netbook, which I have put in charge of the camera. (11-1-15) With research on the internet I found out how to remove the stupid left over folder. What a pain!2) It would be nice if the motion detection would trigger recording, but it doesn't. And this is the one feature I thought I understood it had. Oh, well.3) The microphone doesn't work--all I get is static. No big deal.4) One camera is farther away--perhaps 45 ft.--from the router. It tends to lose connection quite often at certain times of the day, though it regains it quickly. It seems to happen when there is activity outside--hardly ever happens at night. But I still get recordings minus gaps of perhaps 10-20 sec. so it is still valuable. But this suggests that distance, or activity or the number of physical obstacles is a factor. All in all, if you can overcome the poor documentation, WELL worth the price.
Great image quality, vague manual, and better than other similarly priced cameras.
September 28, 2015
This camera works great for the price. The image quality is good and I can monitor the camera overlooking the yard (with the phone app) while I am at work. The one issue with this camera ( and many others) is that the email alert service is not supported by the major email service providers. The email service will work with a less secure email provider (free of course), but you have to do some searching to find this. A similarly, but more expensively priced camera from hootoo simply did not work at all with any email services. The instructions are a little vague so be prepared to spend an hour or so figuring the software out.
A few tweaks to be perfect
September 28, 2015
This camera is awesome and very clear it would get five of five stars if at the ability to record to your mobile device when triggered by motion for maybe 15 to 30 seconds or take a few stills. As of now the app has to be open for it to alert you of motion then you have to record yourself, which is hard if you are sleeping. Set up was very easy in the night vision is unbelievably clear.

Good cameras for the price.
May 19, 2016
It's great when they work. My screen randomly turns off, so it stops recording and I'm unable to access the live or any previous recordings until I get home to turn it back on. It's a shame that they cost so much yet still unreliable. The customer service is not great either, I was told I would have to pay to ship the system to and from their facility, but it was not guaranteed they could to anything since it's a discontinued product.Update! I found if I keep then monitor on scan mode, the problem is fixed. It only turns on when motion is detected, which I think is better because it catches my attention. I also found an alarm/ alert section on the monitor that makes some noise when motion is detected. I haven't had a problem since. You can also zoom in on the video on your phone, very helpful too.
Decent system for the price.
November 25, 2015
I gave this surveillance system a 4 star rating instead of a five because of two reasons. 1: the picture quality isn't the greatest if you need to capture a clear picture of someone's face; and 2: you can only record on one camera at a time unless you have the monitor set to view all (2-4) cameras at once. Other than those problems, I'm happy with the system; the motion detection is a bit more sensitive than it needs to be, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it, if you know what I mean.... anyway, this system has so far helped me in keeping a general over watch on my property, I live down the street from a popular bar in town and there's frequent issues like public urination, vandalism of vehicles, (possible) drug trade, DUI situations, and even occasional violence. In my jurisdiction the camera system is legal and assuming I capture a well enough picture of the perpetrator and alert the proper authorities in time, the video can be saved and used in court cases if necessary. For the most part, however, I take advantage of the quite loud motion detection alerts to assert my presence and generally keep aware of any potential wrong doing in the area. So far, I've put quite a spook into several people just because i was aware of them in the area and went outside to make my presence known.. A couple more quick things to be aware of before purchasing: 1: the actual range of the cameras is about 50 feet, at that point the video can (and usually will) go out of range and come back on kinf of randomly. 2: if you need to extend the power cable, you can use something like cat5 cable (ethernet wire) with two individual wires doubled up for each pole of the power cable soldered altogether to create a large extension.**I've been using this with about 65' of cable extending power to one camera, another is working fine with about 90' of cable. (Of course, you'll have to cut and solder your factory power cables for the cameras though...) one final somewhat important side note is that the seemingly random file numbers that the individual videos are saved as (ex. 232816-1 actually shows the time stamp in military time. 232816-1 would be 11:28:16-camera 1) *yes, it took me way too long to realize that....
An extra layer of security
April 13, 2015
Super easy to set-up; absolutely plug-n-play. Needs an electrical outlet for power, both for cameras and monitor, although you can carry the monitor around with you for a few hours while it is charged. Lightweight and small, I hung these under the eaves of my roof, and ran the a/c cord up through the attic vents; we had an extra outlet in the attic, just needed an extension cord. You need to figure out how you will want to get that power to the cameras before you purchase. Records wirelessly onto SD card found inside monitor. Reception/range is good. There is a little antenna on-top that lifts up. No problem picking up camera on front, side, and back of house. With the antenna down, one of the cameras usually falls out-of-range, though. Intercom system is loud, and a cool feature.I have some troublesome neighbors; it's nice to just be able to look around outside at night or any old time really to see what's up, or to check out the action around the house while you were away at work or whatever. You can set the timer to record, send alerts, or live view on Skype, though I haven't really tried those features. Not sure I want to be that bound to the idea of continual surveillance. I just leave it on motion-detect, or hit manual record if I need to while I'm home.Motion sensor is decent up to about 30 feet I guess. During the day, recording is in color. You can see a hundred or more feet at night with the infrared but the picture is grainy black & white, just shapes and movement. You can't zoom or get close-ups, but what do you expect for the price. You'd have to be within about 20 feet, I'd say, to really get a good, usable image (day or night) that would hold up in court, although the audio is crisp from a distance. Mainly, I purchased this set, at $160, plus a 32 GB SD Card and an extra camera (all for under $250), to record when I thought it was necessary, to have some coverage in case of any incidents while I was away, and to serve as a deterrent. I'd like to get one more camera actually, as the system can accommodate up to four. One of the cameras has a little glitch when recording to where you get a thin band of a double image at the bottom of the screen (at least that's what you see during playback); it's aggravating, but not a real problem. I probably could have sent it back if so inclined. Otherwise, it records fine. I've had them up over a month now in cold, rain, and now hot/humid weather, and they appear in good shape. They are absolutely serving the purpose for which I bought them.
Barn camera
March 26, 2015
I use this to watch my goats at kidding time. I was going to return it, but found some tricks to increase the range.Mine is in a metal sided barn, 100-125' from my house. The antenna need to be straight up, not pointed towards the receiver. Avoid placing the unit near a metal screen- I had to adjust the aluminum window screen in my home so it was not blocking the line of site.I also have sollex as windows in the barn and was able to place them high enough where they are not having to transmit through the metal.
Good for price. 1 downfall but they weren't expensive.
December 12, 2014
I always like uniden. I feel bad not being able to give them 5 stars. Not the highest resolution. It looks good on the small screen but so do a lot of videos. It is about what you would expect for this so I am not rating it down for the lower resolution. The reason for 1 less star is the range. I'd say 30 feet you will not loose video(give or take 5). Anything above that you may or may not loose video. I had video at 50 feet but it cut out a lot and I was behind a wall. You are most likely going to want to be close to your door to ensure you don't cut out when you are actually using it. For that reason it Kind of defeats the purpose for the mic as you can talk and hear each other on the side of the door. Also if they really want to they can unplug the camera unless you recess the camera in the ceiling. Running the cord through the ceiling would prevent unplugging but not clipping which most people unless they are murders wouldn't clip your camera cord. You can get past all the downfalls except the resolution and range however the resolution is not only good enough but also good for what I paid. The range though I honestly expected more for what I pay for it. I still think its worth the money and will be keeping and will just have to go near my doors when needing assurance that I wont loos video.**update**Only thing that has changed is the range. I have re-"paired" the cameras and turned off the channels I dont use and now I have not lost range going 70 feet and through 2 walls. I have a small house so I cant test a long range.
Great starter dvr system. Well worth the price
October 22, 2013
I like the intercom, and live mic's on the camera's. Image is slightly grainy. Very acceptable and easily recognize a face. Zoom on camera is not centered in unzoomed frame. It is high and left. Wireless range is somewhat lacking, and a steel sided house or shop will drop reception to 20 ft or less. Battery loses it's charge more quickly than I would have thought. Unit is kind of difficult to get into the power dock. None of these issues strike me as unacceptable for this price. They seem like normal issues experienced with a less than high end unit.Overall I feel that this is a great unit with good features. The price is very reasonable. Best unit I could find for the price. I enjoy the portable monitor. I now consider this a must have. Fits easily in your pocket. Super easy to install and setup. I would buy again. Easy to use. Super easy to aim camera's with the portable monitor. That alone is worth buying this unit. Night vision is acceptable. Easy to view on computer, tv, monitor ect. Comes with all cables. I built small rain shelters for my camera's out of old milk jugs. It actually helps hide the camera, protect it outdoors, and keeps the lens dry. I have experienced no problems due to outdoor mounting of camera's.I was leary of buying with all the bad reviews. Took a chance, and am pleasantly surprised. Just make sure you use the correct power adapter for the monitor when you test it out for the first time. Great wireless dvr system

Seems really cool but I think I need a bachelor's in computer science
June 9, 2016
I'm giving this three stars because I think for the right person or customer this thing would be awesome. It's not the items fault that I don't have a bachelor's degree in computer science. I did manage to find the app that corresponds with the camera and yes that did work. The interface is a little funky and hard to swallow but at the end of the day the app on the camera did work. However when it came to syncing the camera with the Wi-Fi there was a website that you had to put it in a whole bunch of technical numbers and IP addresses and this is where I went cross-eyed. I got the camera to work just attached to the power source but it never seems to be able to get on the Wi-Fi. The picture I saw was great however and I was really bummed that he just couldn't figure it out because the pricing was awesome. I think the manual was definitely written by folks who have English as their second language and are extremely smart but talking way over my head. If you know your computer stuff and you know what they're talking about then this camera be perfect for you. The camera was built well and the electronic attachments that came with it were solid and secure. I had to regretfully return it because this thing just stumped me. If you know what you're doing and you know how to work your way around a computer and then this would be a fantastic deal. I just think that it's just a little bit not user-friendly for the average customer

November 14, 2015
This product itself is very good, well built and sturdy so should provide years of surveillance. The only problem is the operation. I am by no means an IT person with a degree from Microsoft, so getting this camera to function as described has been challenging. They do have customer service you can call for assistance, prepare to wait, then I only hope the tech on the other end has very good English communication skills and if they are from another country good luck. The day I called, I was on hold for 45 min, then when a tech did respond we worked on things for almost an hour. He lost my connection and I had to leave for work. So now I have to call again and try to get my issues resolved. They are not major issues but again Im not tech smart enough to get this corrected.
It works, but has some quirks.
November 13, 2015
Basically, this camera works. It has a decent quality image, and once all the pieces were in place. I did get it setup quickly. I have not tried the "night" mode, and this isn't actually installed in its final usage place.1) I am running Windows 10 (64bit). Edge browser did not work with this camera. I had to find the old Internet Explorer, and get it setup as my default browser so that I could get the browser connected to the camera.2) ActiveX is a deprecated software framework. It was deprecated for a reason. That said, you have to use an ActiveX app to configure the camera once you connect to it.3) A big plus, was iSpy/iSpyConnect works with this camera (IPcam3). There may be other open source solutions that work with it also.4) I also, have Dlink wireless camera's, DLink provides an easy way to do firmware updates integrated into their solution. That said, I haven't figured out how to find the firmware updates for this camera. Where is the website? I've been reading their manual, and doing web searches. No luck finding anything other than the YouTube setup channels which don't have a "homepage" listed for the IdeaNext cameras. So, I may have found the web site, but I don't trust unknown web sites. Nothing I've seen on the web so far has convinced me I've found the "correct" homepage for IdeaNext-US.So, to wrap it up. I gave this three stars, because I was able to get it working reasonably quickly, and it works with the opensource/free iSpy program. I knocked off two starts because I haven't found a firmware update and the setup issues I had trying to setup from a Windows 10 machine. So,

The camera and my system synced as supposed to, but never got a picture to my Android phone. There has to be something really bad wromg with this unit, for it heats up excessively, and my phone is constantly trying to connect but won't. I am running my laptop and my cell phone off of the router with no problems. I am sure the camera would work if there was a router set aside for only the camera, which is the case of most all security systems.
Good camera
October 23, 2015
The camera picture is great and it seems to work well. There are two issues. There is a single cable connected to the camera which has three connectors attached. One of the connectors is an ethernet socket. This makes it difficult to pass the cable through a wall for outdoor installations. You have to make a large hole to accommodate all the connectors. The other problem is with the software "Cloudlivepro". It seems like the only way to add the camera is by scanning the QR code on the camera body. This is OK unless you have mounted the camera high up on an exterior wall. I don't know why one can't just enter the camera's IP address manually. If there is a way to do that in the software, I couldn't find it.
Working progress
September 29, 2015
Took me a few weeks to get it to work, had to take breaks due to frustration and waiting for email responses. Finally got the camera to work but I'm still lost as to why it won't let me set up email alarms. Also the disk with the software is a mini so if ur computer doesn't support it be sure to ask if they can send a regular size disk. The YouTube videos help but a computer savvy friend on hand is better if ur not to good with computers.

Nice cameras but Okay product overall.
July 29, 2017
Works well overall. Does the job. There are some glitches either with the recording or the wireless transmission. During playback, videos will freeze and stutter. There are times where video and sound are not synced. At first, we thought it might just be a slow processor with the monitor but when we took the SD card out and played it on a computer the freeze and glitches still occured.Installation was very simple but setup was a bit confusing. It was hard to tell if motion detection recording was working as we didnt see recordings on the monitor. But when we put the SD card in the computer we saw that the motion detection worked fine. We still haven't figured out how to setup mobile viewing yet.
So far so good. See update.
June 18, 2016
Have only had it up and running one day. So far so good. Much-much better than the system it replaces, cobbled together using wifi cameras and a pc, (which got hacked),.A few notes; For the remote viewing to work, the panel must be plugged into the router. Would have been nice if this function worked over wifi for more placement options. Maybe you can and I just don't know. Fine for now though.Secondly, I made everything more complicated than necessary. I downloaded a security camera app from uniden which was unnecessary and required a pass code. I believe it was payware. If it'd followed instructions and just relied on smartphone app from itunes, I'd have saved fifteen mins. I was used to the complicated mess I had previously and this system is light-years easier. App found the cameras quickly though powering up the monitor from cold seems to take a while for online app to work.Lastly, I think they should include a better printed user guide for the monitor rather than pdf online. Had to hold button down for awhile to shut off as tapping selects a different mod. Made me think I'd reset the unit. Had to look it up online That's the way the power button works. Just nit picking. So for now, it's working well and we're very happy. May order another camera as well. Will report back if any changes.-----Update: 9-4-2016;Sure wish I'd done my homework. Turns out this model seems to be discontinued? Not sure but Amazon doesn't offer extra cameras, only 3rd party. And this time, that means, they cost almost the same as the kit!!! For one! Still looking for other compatable cameras from uniden. Wish I'd known up front. Sigh.......

May 16, 2016
so I've had mine now for about 3yrs and the buttons quit working. well come to find out the battery had swollen up and forced the buttons up into the front. I called uniden to see if we could upgrade the receiver and they told me no other receiver they have will work with the cameras so I'm trying to find a new battery. you can view live from anywhere with SKYPE you have to leave it plugged into your computer.. (who has one of those anymore) and you can only view one camera. all in all its an ok camera system quick easy to install but really for the long term you might want to look at something with an actual dvr box.
Nice and Not So Nice !!
October 14, 2015
I bought this a month or so ago and finally got it installed. Installation was a breeze, but that's about all I can say that is totally positive. The images are very good-daylight, nighttime-not much range-so so. Sound is very good. I'm mostly learning how to use this and how it does it's thing. I downloaded the manual and the Android app for my tablet. The tablet hooks up nice, but I'm having trouble viewing events, and adding another camera. Uniden has NO Customer Service. All phone numbers tell you to go online. Go to Uniden online and register your item, but that's about it. All the links on their site go no where. I created a ticket for support questions, I will update this post if they get back to me. It is disappointing that manufacturers take your money and leave you flat. I would think twice about Uniden. More to come.............UPDATE !!!!!!Still not much better. Uniden DOES have customer support, but you must email them and wait, and wait, and wait. They have helped me with an issue with the Uguard program for tablets. My latest issue is a firmware problem. Every week, on Saturday at noon, the monitor shuts down by itself. You must restart it manually. I have been tracking this problem for several weeks and I report this to Uniden every week, but they still have not gotten back to me. More to come.............
The Good: 1
March 9, 2015
The Good:1. Seriously simple to setup. Plugin and turn on handheld device and you're up and running.2. Great night vision.3. Motion detection works great.4. Software on handheld device is well designed and easy to use.The Bad:1. The remote viewing setup through Skype works but is overly cumbersome. A simple interface allowing the device to upload to FTP or some other site would have been much better in my opinion.2. Only records the current camera that is displayed on the handheld device. In the event the burglar walks by a camera while it is not active it won't get recorded. The cameras do cycle fast though so it will hopefully not be an issue.3. Where the wall/ceiling mount attaches to the camera is a bit loose. I had trouble mounting it to the wall and pointing the camera in my desired direction. Had to move it to the ceiling where it worked much better.Suggestions:1. Add a driver that allows me to access the camera feed directly on my pc/mac. Then I could use third party software to record and save in any manner that I wish. The driver that is provided today only works with Skype. For now I may add a tv card to my pc which would allow me to access the video output from the handheld.
Ok for the price, not good for night.

Not too bad. Make sure you purchase a larger memory card as the one that comes with it doesnt hold more then a few hours. The motion sensor is very iffy....goes off when a car goes by 40 feet away and doesnt trigger all the time when someone walks right up. Record mode is nice you can record 1-4 cameras but when you record more then one camera at same time it splits the picture of each and you can not full size. When you record one camera at a time none of the other cameras in system will trigger until the one recording is done. Decent system for price and wireless, but I would reccomend paying a couple hundred more for more functionality and clarity. Night vision is terrible so dont reccomend for night time. I purchased to catch someone stealing my mail...Did the trick!

Not the best option if you want to record
November 9, 2015
This is an Ok Camera. it has good image, even at night,; however, is not the best option if you want to record. Also, the camera constantly goes offline and one has to refress the app making it pointless to have the notification for motion.
The term you get what you pay for comes to mind. Prepare for a frustrating experience to get it to work properly.
October 28, 2015
Not the greatest camera. Don't bother if you are planning on using it on a windows 10 device. Too much work to get it working right. Couldn't get it to connect or be recognized from wireless network, only connected. Followed all directions and read all info. Not going to bother with returning it as I can still use it to keep an eye on my dogs in the house while I am away. Phone app works fine with it on Android and motion sensor works ok again as long as it is connected to network via wired link. Video quality is decent though.
Great picture. Not so great app features.
October 16, 2015
I downloaded the app and did what the instructions told me to do. I had live streaming video almost immediately. Here's the issue. When I set the motion detection to max, I get several alerts every time there is motion. However, there is no video to review it the alerts.I set the record setting to full time. When I closed the app and reopened it, the record setting was set to off. I set it again and closed out the app. I opened it up and the record setting is off.So I went directly to the camera's live view on the app and pushed record. It began recording. But when I closed out the app and reopened it, it was not recording.I ordered this camera so that I can see what's going on if the camera detects motion outside. I'm not getting it with this camera.I ran a test so see the reaction time of the camera for motion. This is what I found: At 6:53 am, I went outside and waived my hand in front of the camera. I held my phone in my hand to listen for any alerts. Nothing.I waited 20 seconds and waived my hand in front of the camera again. Still no alerts. I went back inside. One minute later, at 6:54 am I received a motion detection alert for the first motion. 20 seconds later I received the second alert. But there was no recording to review. So with a one minute delay on motion detection and no way to review what caused the motion, I really have no use for this camera. A lot can happen in one minute. And if I can't even review video to see what caused the motion detection to be triggered, then what's the point of having this camera.
CAMERA DOA.
September 10, 2015
Arrived dead. App recognizes camera but that is just due to Qr code scan. One I hooked up LAN cable the camera was dead. No lights in the LAN port. Constant attempts to connect with no luck. Sending it back.

Cameras lose communication with Monitor too often...
February 22, 2017
I was looking for a wireless High Definition Camera system with a monitor for my 6' x 12' Aluminum Trailer that I keep and transport my motorcycle in. I did some research on these types of cameras and there are only a handful who offer this type of solution. I decided on Uniden because of my experience with their police scanners (and I have a few) and have never had an issue.I installed these almost a week ago and I am not very happy with the system as a whole. I have one camera installed in the nose of my trailer and the other at the rear (near the ramp door). I plugged the monitor in and checked for a firmware upgrade (which there was none). The cameras are paired to the monitor out of the box so pairing manually was not needed. I had to set the quality of the recording to high because it is set to low from Uniden out of the box. It comes with an 8GB SanDisk SDHC Card which is not nearly big enough for HD recording. I am choosing to record continuously but you do have the ability to record on a schedule or by motion. The recorded quality is decent and I am not complaining about that. I installed LAN power in my trailer and it has two 4000K (bright white) LED Light Strips inside. When the lights are on in the trailer the image quality of the cameras are nice. When I turn the lights off and close the door, the image quality is still OK and enough to distinguish a person who enters the trailer. The audio quality is also OK but I think I expected more in such an enclosed area. The thing that really bothers me the most is the monitor does not stay paired to the cameras all the time. Considering that the monitor RECORDS everything the cameras see, if it loses communication then the system becomes useless. I have attached a few pictures of the monitor with both cameras communicating with the monitor and a few pictures of the monitor with only one camera showing. It still shows that the camera is recording but when I go back and check the recording on the SD card, there is nothing there OR the recording is just no good to view. The cameras lose communication with the monitor even if the monitor is in the trailer with me. If I step out of the trailer and walk 50 feet away I again lose one or both of the cameras. Most of the time I have to RESET the monitor in order to get both cameras back. I keep the monitor inside my bedroom and that is literally the side of the driveway where I keep my trailer. Again sometimes I have both cameras and sometimes not and it's getting frustrating. I am going to return these to Amazon and look for another solution.
Works like poo
December 31, 2016
This thing started out with high hopes, but it works like poop. I had to return the one camera first...didnt work. But OK, they sent a replacement camera and life went on. Well in the year since I had it, the monitor goes WHACKY...turns off and changes screens for no reason. Sometimes goes non responsive. I was too busy to write a review, but it's annoying me on a daily basis so I figured WHAT THE HECK. TOnight, I cannot get it to change from a black screen. I can toggle to and from a black screen. I tried to power it off...nothing works. I tried unplugging it - it still has some battery power so I am waiting for it to die, so it can reboot. It was screwed from day one, I been dealing with the flaws. Dont have the time to try and ship it back, etc. Maybe they will see this review and send me a new set?
The cameras seem to still work fine, but the monitor has experienced a slow death
March 11, 2016
I purchased mine July, 2015. The cameras seem to still work fine, but the monitor has experienced a slow death. First the volume stopped responding, then the other buttons followed, as of this morning, it's not even recognizing that there is a card present. It was OK for an inexpensive solution. There's no app, so you're stuck using the crappy monitor. In order to connect it to your PC, you must be on a Windows, which I am not, so it's monitor or bust.
It broke after four months.
April 19, 2015
It's so user unfriendly. I can't set it down on it's back because the ac adapter is sticking out the back, so you have use the stand. It's very inconvenient for me. They should have used a right angle connector. The file name format makes it hard to sort files. It puts all the camera files in the same directory, so it's impossible to sort them or separate them. When you pick it up you have to be very careful not to push a button since there are buttons on the top, and right side.To top it off, after four months, i can't play back the files it creates. Even if i put them on a computer it's the same. What should be a ten minute video file is just a snapshot. I will have to send it back to be repaired. The video is good and I like the microphone and speaker.
No Mac support!!
January 6, 2015
I had to come back and redo my review on the UDR444, because I'm not as happy as I wish I could be. First the issue with the cameras; when you go to zoom in, it goes up and to to the left. So if you want to Zoom on a face, the face will not be there, cause it needs to be up and to the left. What a joke. Now this part really makes me upset, cause no where does it say it's not Mac compatible! First this is really screwy, you have to use Skype to view what you want online. So that means you have to have another computer to connect the monitor to feed and set up for Skype. With that in mind, you have no control over your system, so you can't switch to the other cameras, nor zoom (like if that really works) AND IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE TO MAC AND OR APPLE IOS AT ALL!!!. And of course do they mention that on the feature portion of the box, nope. They even go as far as putting fake drivers for Mac on the disk that comes with the kit. With that said, I considered that to be misleading and or false advertising. So I filed a complaint with Amzon, so Amazon can take it up with Udiden to get the features that are missing, back to the upfront so everyone is aware of this problem. So did I return the system? The answer is no, because at this time, I have not found a system similar to this as far as wirless camera, and the way the monitor is set up. The little monitor is handy, which I do like. But if Undien could just fire this over the Internet with its own IP address so we could use an iPhone/iPad to control and monitor, then it would be very handy. That and fix the zoom issue.I will add on more thing, considering that these cameras are wirless, it saves you a lot of money. Because with wired camera you need on the average 60 feet of cable which sales for about $30.00 dollars. And since these are wirless you save $30.00 average on each camera. So another reason why wirless cameras are better.
Fantastic Buy!

System works ok. I have been through several Uniden products, including camera/surveillance systems and the Uniden name isn't what it once was. I was highly disappointed that the cameras are not interchangeable with other Uniden systems, especiaqlly when they are rthe same series/product line. I have/had the UDR444 system. The UDR744, as advertised by Uniden and Amazon is part of the UDR444 series I also bought the G955 series, which I returned because it was junk. With that being said, I will try and stick to this product. One of the two cameras has an awesome picture and works great. The other has a color problem with it's display and the entire picture has a pink hue to it, so I am going to have to return it. The audio reception with this system is better sounding than the 444, but it doesn't have two way audio like its lesser member. Also, advertised distances for this item are not even close to actual working distances, however this is common with most systems. Even with direct line of site and no obstructions it fails to me advertised specifications The night vision on these is horrible and barely viewable. Might as well not even have it. Again, the lesser model camera has better nigh vision. The cameras themselves are well built, but the mounts are made of cheap plastic and you also don't get the same directional control with them as you do with the lesser model. The monitor is nice, easy to use and navigate etc. The touch screen is nice compared to its lesser model with all of the buttons which break with any kind of use. I would recommend trying another brand or if you really want Uniden, the UDR444 is the best for the series.

To call this a piece of crap would disrespect crap. The package did not include software, would not stay connected to any of the three networks that I attempted to install with, and the amount of time spent on this was far more than any system I have ever used. Don't bother.

September 29, 2015
Not particularly impressed with this product. The instructions are poor, none of the software seems to work with Windows 10, and it wants to install an activeX control but that doesn't work. Folks, I am a 25+ year veteran in IT, networking, and have seen my fair share of devices. In my younger days I suppose I would have spent half a day hacking at this thing to figure out what should have been documented but isn't, but quite frankly in this day and age you should't have to do that.I don't want to install software to my computer. I don't care about whatever marginally useful app is on the CD disk. I don't even care about your Android or iOS app for viewing this thing remote. All I want to do is plug in the device, get it on the network, then go to its net address on port 80 and change the password and finish configuring the device. So far that is all good, so I give the vendor credit. But then, for the final step I just want to know what the URL(s) are that I can use to view the video stream(s) and view the streams in a real camera management app like iSpy, and be on my way. That piece of information is nowhere to be found in the documentation, or the web config interface. Now, I could probably get that last piece if I could get the software installed and working... worst case if the software doesn't expose the URL, then I'd get it by fiddller or wireshark network traffic inspection. But really? In 2015 should I have to do this?So a few hours later, and I decided before I throw this in the trash I figured I'd download the Android app to see if it works and can give me some clues on the URL. The android app (cloudlivepro) is rated 1 star, which doesn't instill great confidence. And then.... wait for it..... "your device is not compatible with this version". The device would be a Google branded Nexus running Android 4.4. Any app that can't run on that device is, well, a piece of junk. No, I don't feel like standing up a windows XP box to see if it works.

It all seemed to work pretty well at first
June 16, 2016
We bought 3 of these setups, so three monitors and six cameras total. We use four cameras for outside surveillance in our rough neighborhood, and two cameras in our kids' rooms for baby monitors. It all seemed to work pretty well at first, with the motion activation capturing video about 40-50 times each day. The cameras still seem to work pretty well. The receivers are total garbage. One unit, which we use for the baby monitor, went from working well to having zero battery life in about two months. The other two units both developed non working buttons after about three months. They have been kept indoors on a shelf away from children. After a few months, we needed video from them for some vandalism on our property. Both units were locked up and hadn't recorded in a couple weeks. After that, I started power cycling both monitors once a week, which seemed to help with their function for awhile. However, the second time that we needed video, the cameras had recorded only once in the previous two weeks, and that file wasn't accessible. I would really look for another brand.
I could have purchased a much better quality system from Sam's Club which included six cameras
April 21, 2016
The UDR 744 wouldn't record after midnight so I decided to try to have it repaired. It was still under warranty and yet you have to pay to ship it. So I did. Meanwhile I ordered another UDR 744 so I could have surveillance since I was told it could take two weeks or more plus the week it took to get to the facility. The second unit came and that doesn't record during the night. All four cameras (2 with each monitor) show the red infrared light on and working. If I go out and wave my hand in front of the camera during the time they don't detect motion, it will record my hand. I have tried cleaning them and they installed under the window soffit which protects them from the elements.Shipping cost $12.00. I shipped one and that needs to go back and I have another one waiting to go back. That's $36.00. How many times before they get it right. I need to keep one system which will record on continuous through the night, not set on motion sensor. Who wants to spend hours watching recorded video of the entire night? What are the chances of ordering two of the same system from different companies, that have the same exact problems???For another $200.00, I could have purchased a much better quality system from Sam's Club which included six cameras. There is only 90 days to return it to the store for a refund. That time has passed. What a BIG MISTAKE.Before I decided to buy the system, I looked at the reviews. Not sure who wrote those but, they were far from the truth.I did have the Uniden 766 which never gave me a problem. The only difference is the recording times. The 766 only records motion for 2 minutes. The 744 gives you a choice between 15 sec, 30 sec. and 1 minute. Great if you only need to record during day light hours. Not so good during the night when people might want to break into your car or home.
Pretty bad when the company that made it, makes the distributor do the refunding.
January 16, 2016
Bought in October. Now January, so of course the return window through Amazon is null and void. And of course it's not offered with any sort of warranty when you buy it, as an add on. Thing is, the audio is entirely gone. The outbound speaker system works since I can hear my voice outside, but the usefulness of the UDR744 is now nihil, since I can't hear anything on either camera. When pressing the volume button up and down there's a staticy 'fzzt' for a split second, each time the volume buttons are hit, which leads me to believe the speakers have been blown. I never turned the volume up above the halfway point, so it shouldn't have fizzled out. I'll need a whole new monitor now, if the speaker's not working. Of course, via Uniden's website: "To return or to receive a refund for a product purchased from a retailer you must contact that retailer for their return or refund policy." And since it's outside of Amazon's 30 day return window, there you are, stuck with a useless hunk of junk.If not for the audio fail rendering the system USELESS, it worked well and our picture was clear, it records fine, we never had any probs with the signals, and the outbound mic works well. Just be aware that if you buy this product, it's going to fail and you'll be out a whole lot of money with nothing to show for it, and no return policy or warranty, either.
DONT BOTHER

Can't believe how easy the setup was! Motion sensor is spotty but I am very pleased with the purchase. We are not using remote viewing so we so not loose any bandwidth on our home WiFi.Editing this badboy, night vision is GARBAGE. Can't see a thing, returning this POS. Our truck is only 15 feet outside our window. Once it's gets a little dark the entire screen is just a mess. Second camera on the dumpster, same distance and same problem. This system is trash, save your money.
The monitor worked for only an hour and then died ...
December 29, 2015
I suggestion, look for a different brand!!Update as of January 6, 2016. As I stated in my original post, I gave it a second try with a brand-new system. To save myself some work I set the camera up on a flat surfaces and turn them on and then turn the monitor on. Of course the viewing wasn't the greatest because of the levels where the cameras were. But they worked very well in daylight. At night time the auto sequencing was screwed up because only one camera would load long enough to really view. The other camera would only flick on for a second or two and then went to a blank screen. I figured this had something to do with the IR mode. Feeling I could live with that I decided to permanently mount and I mounted the cameras where I wanted them. After mounting one of the cameras started giving false signals and would beep three times every 10 seconds. I worked with the settings and rebooted the monitor. I even unplugged the SD card. In order to sleep I had to turn that camera off during the night. This time I called Uniden and spoke with the tech In-depth. She told me to reset the cameras and the monitor. All to no avail. I called Uniden back and she told me I needed to send it in for repairs. The system is now packed up and waiting for Amazon to pick it up. So as the saying goes, once bit twice shy!The monitor worked for only an hour and then died. I returned the original and will give unit in a second shot. We'll see how this second product will work. Will keep you posted
Uniden Camera
December 28, 2015
Uniden needs to do some research to fine tune this camera system. The problem that I had was when I power up the camera, my Wifi based internet access goes to a crawl. I have Comcast with 30 Meg down and 6 Meg Upstream. The camera signal look like killing the Wifi Signal. I have noticed that my Wifi signal will go 0.78 meg down and 0.17 Meg upstream when the camera is powered up. If I disconnect the camera, Wifi will go back to normal speed.I have called Uniden tech support, it is the worst tech support a customer can experience, they do not have the real desire to help their customers or probably they may know of this problem and do not know a workaround. At any rate, with no help from the Uniden, I have done many steps to correct the issue. Here are something you can do if you have one of this unit and have Wifi issues so that you can get somewhat decent speed. Move the camera and receiver to further out from the network router. This defeat the purpose in my situation, my goal was to connect this camera to the internet and to do that RJ45 cable needs to be connected from the camera receiver to the Wifi router. Wifi camera was purchased to avoid lengthier cable install to begin with. Secondly, I have changed the channel on the net router, and thirdly speed setting on the router was changed too. Now I am getting 8-10 Meg down and around 4 meg up speed which is acceptable.I waited testing the product after 30 days return period since I was unable to get a contractor to mount the camera on the siding of my house and run the power cable which is inside the house, otherwise I should have returned the merchandise for a refund in time. I also want say Amazon support staff who I spoke to was a great person wanted to help me to resolve the issue. I am giving the vendor and this camera system only one star since I did not get the support as a customer from Uniden or seller.
