overall I am very satisfied with this purchase
June 17, 2017
Have been using this security camera for couple days, overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. I have stable wifi signals, so the camera is always online without any issues.
Overall, quality camera, nice metal construction.
June 6, 2017
Great zooming, smooth moving. Picture quality is very clear. The night vision mode works good. Great metal made, not plastic like the ones that loses their color after 2-3 months, a very strong metal made of! Set up was not hard at all. I really like it supports motion detection alerts via email. It is really cool to watch the video from your phone. It is pretty waterproof- it rained recently and the camera worked fine. I would buy again.
Good solution for Home security
June 5, 2017
A previous camera failed so I replaced with a IdeaNext HD1080P bullet camera. I also installed software and the camera is working fine. It is clearly understood in the manual. this camera does have a hardwired Ethernet port which you can use as an alternative to the WiFi connection. (But it is not Power Over Ethernet [POE]). The wiring from the camera is now concealed up through the mounting bracket providing a more secure installation. The integral mounting bracket worked fine for my installation which has the camera is installed on the horizontal surface of my home. The video recording quality is very good during daytime, it was pretty good in the night time.
Nice product.

I had been looking for a monitor for my girl's playroom because she is too active, I have to watch her all the time. Someone recommended this camera. I have been using it for about a week. It is working good. It is easy to install and easy to setup. It works with WiFi. It can be connected with a smart phone, a tablet, or a computer. I connected it with my tablet. It has day mold which is in color, and night mold which is in black and white. Most of time I use the day mold. No matter what I am doing and where I am going, my girl is always in my sigh, as long as there is WIFI. I am happy with this camera. When my girl grows older, I am going to move it to outdoor.
A Reliable Camera that Works Great!
December 15, 2015
This product is very good especially for the price! I looked though a bunch of security cameras and this one is the cheapest you will get for a 1080p outdoor security camera. Also the quality is great! There is no DVR but it records on the camera itself. There is a way to record it to your computer but you would have to set up a "FTP". Once you install the program on your computer or smart phone, you can set the camera up by plugging it in your router or through a wireless connection. Once you have downloaded the programs, you can install on PC or Mac. On your smart phone, you can go anywhere you want and still will be able to access your camera through the Internet.I have tried the programs on Mac and it works well but I personally think the PC version works better. “Safari” works the best on the Mac. I have had much better results with the PC version but if you want every feature to work properly, you have to use “Windows Internet Explorer (32bit)” and download the “Active X HY Player”.The “motion detection” is sensitive but if you find the right spot to set up the camera and select the area, in the program, where you want the motion detection to be noticed, then it will work great. The “IR LED” is awesome! It’s very clear and you can see everything from a far distance. Even when you turn the “IR LED” light off, it still comes in clear & bright at night, just a little blurrier if a car is driving by fast.If you have a low budget and you’re looking for a good, durable, high-quality, outdoor camera, then I would recommend this one.I have tried other camera systems and this one is my favorite.
An Honest Review of an Excellent High Resolution Wireless IP Camera
November 14, 2015
I purchased this camera a couple of weeks ago and wanted to share my experience.I was looking for a wireless IP camera to add security around my home. The reason I chose this brand is because the reviews seemed genuine and they didn’t have a bunch of reviewers that received their cameras for free just to get a positive review.I assure you the only incentive I have is to inform others of my experience. The build quality is excellent, all medal heavy duty weatherproof construction. The output quality is excellent, true HD at 1920x1080p, the video has great resolution with plenty of fine detail. The setup was fairly straight forward, if you do have problems their technical support is excellent and dedicated to helping their customers. The camera is controlled by the iSmartViewPro app for smartphones and they have PC and Mac client softwares too.I have installed the software on my iPhone, iMac, Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers and they all work great. The software for PC and Mac along with the documentation are downloaded from a DropBox link. There is also a video tutorial on YouTube. There is an additional software called “SearchPro” that enables you to download the videos from the camera to your computer. This software is browser based and offers more detailed settings that the other programs and can be also used instead of the other programs to view the camera. The camera has great night vision as you can see in the photo I have attached. It pretty much lights my whole backyard and driveway in complete darkness. This camera offers motion detection and when it sees motion it will start recording. The camera can be configured to send you an email with a jpg attached and will upload the video to an FTP site for permanent storage. This camera has a 8gb permanent sd card built in, when the card gets full it overwrites the oldest files. The camera can be configured to record only when it detects motion or constantly. It can also be programed to record at defined intervals. This camera is weatherproof but the AC adapter in not, I wrapped the cords and adapter in waterproof plastic to protect them from the elements. They call this wireless but it does need to be plugged into an electric outlet. This is a new product from a small company, the documentation could be improved and they are constantly improving the software. If you do have a problem with setup these people are great to deal with and will answer your questions quickly. As for the hardware, I think it’s top notch. If your in the market for a wireless IP security camera I would highly recommend this camera. I bought one to start with and was so impressed with it I bought 3 additional cameras.I have uploaded a day and night screen shot as well as a really short video clip.I hope this review is helpful.

Good for the money- night/day camera
June 13, 2017
We just bought one of these to replace a wide angle camera on our roof overhang pitch area. Very good resolution day and night-when compared to our other night vision camera that started going on the fritz. And these are half the cost of the one we are replacing. Going to buy another!!! By the way, the wiring matches what we have installed on the house-so it's a few screws and plug in. GREAT!
Very heavy duty construction - Should take a hit from a vandal without much damage
April 10, 2017
I can't believe the metal construction on this camera. It seems very durable and it was easy to mount. I'm watching the front of my store with this, front sidewalk, and the last one was hit by kids who frequent the convenience store next to my store. Maybe this time they'll find it a bit more challenging.
Great price and a great little camera
January 13, 2017
Great price and a great little camera. The focus and zoom adjustment are nice and offer some tunability not seen in other cameras. Bought these to try to match what was already present on recently purchased property so everything would be consistent. Haven't mounted them yet, but hooked them up to my DVR system for a function check and they have a nice picture and work well in the dark.
Exceptional value
December 1, 2016
I've installed security camera systems since the mid 1990s. I've watched cameras progress from $500 for a monochrome camera with a fixed lens to astonishingly low prices for very nice cameras, such as this one. The metallic case makes it more likely to be durable under a wide range of conditions and potential abuse by imbeciles and miscreants. I haven't yet installed it, but will update this review once I do.
Unbeatable price value.
March 22, 2016
I give this camera five stars for what it offers at this price range. Of course it will not have the picture quality of a $600.00 camera, but it does seem to have about 80% of the quality for about 5% of the price. Being able to adjust the zoom and focus add to the value considerably. I have had several of these installed in very harsh industrial environments and have been very pleased with the ease of installation and the reliability overall. Sometimes when mounting horizontally, the camera housing can block a portion of the image. But if only a little, the zoom and focus can usually overcome this problem. We have cut part of the housing before as the camera itself is sealed and if done correctly, it gives a lot more adjustment to below horizontal.
Great camera capable of a nice wide angle
November 1, 2013
I purchased this to replace a similar style camera that did not have a variable lens. I installed this about 1 foot up and to the right of my front door and adjusted it to give me the maximum wide angle view. It works quite well for viewing all the way up to my front door which is nice in case someone is leaning up against it or a package was left outside. Image quality seems very nice and the adjustments such as focus work well. Focus is extremely sensitive so it can take a bit of tweaking but the wide range and sensitivity is very nice. Night vision is good although I'd prefer it to be less focused. This seems to be a common issue with these types of camera liking to have their LEDs spotlight rather than flood as much as I'd like. I'm uploading a picture as well of my front door view although it's through the iPhone app so is of lower quality than the actual image the DVR sees. All in all I like it and will probably get one for my back door too for the wider angle view. If this had been available when I upgraded my other cameras I would have gotten this over the non-adjustable ones for several locations. I'm hoping the infrared LEDs last as a lot of other brands of these types of cameras seem to have their nightvision LEDs burn out over time... time will tell. Build quality is very nice. The matte grey paint seems high quality and looks expensive. I like it better than my other glossy black cameras.

Hard setup, but a good product
September 18, 2016
I have some experience in setting up remote cameras, and this product was by far the most difficult. The main reason is the manual, which is not clear at all.But with the camera installed and running I do consider this as a good product. The best feature is the SD card recording, which gives you the possibility to download and/or watch your records remotely. I'll improve its capacity installing a 64G card, which allows more high quality records.
Very good picture, BUT!
August 22, 2016
Like so many of these products the Quick Start Guide does not match what you see from the item. I did get it going fairly well but the viewing software is very limited and difficult to get started. The picture is very good and the web site corrects a lot of the problems from what info came with the camera. I have yet to set up the motion detection and other settings but when I do if I run into difficulty I will come back here and fill you in.
Good, a power hit issue and poor software...
March 6, 2016
I really like this camera, I have three of these and one of the inside "baby monitor" type camera. I'll not repeat all the other reviews. They are all good. I have two issues with these cameras not mentioned elsewhere. One is the software iSmartView Pro. It is not the most intuitive and the help is useless. On one of my higher resolution laptops the menu does not display correctly. You cannot see or click on the "add camera" button. So the initial setup is impossible. My workaround is to change the laptop screen resolution, find the "add camera" button and set the software up. I can then change the resolution back and use it to view, pan, etc the cameras well. So not fatal but quite annoying. The other item is power. If you take a quick power glitch (i.e. just enough to blink the lights) the cameras, all four of mine, will "lock up". They are not responsive and show disconnected on the lan. A real power hit (or unplug and plug back in) and they will boot up fine and work fine. Two of the cameras are powered in my attic such that "unplugging" is not trivial. I just open and close the circuit breaker. Again, not fatal but annoying. Of course if you take such a power hit while gone, asleep etc the cameras will not work until power cycled.Other than these items I love the cameras, they do what they say and all the other reviews will give you much more data. I'd recommend them.
They are high resolution and show up in nice color during the daytime
January 22, 2016
I bought two of these cameras, They are high resolution and show up in nice color during the daytime. At night, it shows up as black and white, but it is a lot better camera than the 720 P camera that I purchased previously. The motion detector is very sensitive and is activated by just about anything. It doesn't take long to fill up the SD card. Of course, it will overwrite previous recordings if you set it to do so. The instructions for the software used on my PC and my smart phone is not very clear in some instances. This is a Chinese product, and some of the language interpretation is not very good. The camera was easy to set up.
It's a great camera overall
November 2, 2015
This camera was very easy to set up with Blue Iris. The RTSP addresses are listed in the manual found in the Dropbox they put the address to on this item's description. The quality of the images it produces are a HUGE upgrade from the VGA camera I came from. The only problem I have is that the colors are way off. Everything has a purple hue in the day. Of course, at night it's black and white for the IR, which lights up everything about 20 feet away from where it's set. It's a great camera overall, I'd just like to figure out why there's a purple hue when it's shooting in color.UPDATE: I was able to bump the camera a few times and it seems to release the IR Cutoff filter. So, the color is normal and everything has been working great since I purchased it around 3 months ago.
Good cam but room for improvement
October 23, 2015
I bought two of these cameras a couple of weeks ago and have had them in use for a week now. Overall I give this security camera a big thumbs up with some some issues that are more annoyances than critical failures. One of the most confusing/surprising things is that this is a CLOUD camera. It phones home to a central connection server somewhere. This is what the manufacturer refers to as P2P. The mobile apps (iOS and Android) use this cloud service to find your cam(s). So, if you are home with your tablet/phone configuring the connections, you do a local lan search and find the cam(s) by their local IPs which makes it seem like you're setting up a local only connection. In reality you are finding the cam locally so the app can find its hard coded ID which is then used with the cloud service. Then, even outside of your network your app will find and access the cam. This works really well but a little unnerving since it's not well documented how the connectivity to your camera is being passed around the world. I'm hoping this will be documented when the vendor gets their support website online. But, it does work great.First, the Pros....- The price. For the feature set in this camera and the fact that it's an outdoor camera, you can't beat $100 bucks.- The physical quality. Heavy housing and quality accessories make this a solid camera that I'm happy to leave out in the elements.- The image quality. This is a 1080p camera and in day or night mode, the output looks amazing. Clear and consistent. I don't have a single complaint in this area, only praise. If image quality is your prime concern, this camera should filter to the top of your list.- Web interface. For a company I hadn't heard of until a couple of weeks ago, the web interface for this camera is impressive. The live video display is very responsive and lag is almost never seen. Pixelation is very low in both day and night mode. The online recorded video play back is nice with all the controls you expect.- Remote notification. This camera can alert via SMTP and FTP. I have verified that both work well. FTP does not currently do any form of secure connectivity. SMTP will do open and secure on SSL and TLS so I have been able to get that to work with GMail. You have your choice of which image level to use with alerts so you can send smaller images via email while still recording a higher quality on the camera's internal storage.- Internal recording. Very nice here. Can set up to a max of 900 seconds per video file. Some cams like D-Link can only do 300 seconds which stinks and generates way too many files. A 900 second mp4 file at 640x386 is about 8.5 meg allowing for many nights of recording before older videos are purged out. Full 1080p recording will be considerably large and only get you a day or two of recordings.- Security. Multiple logins can be set on the camera offering Admin, Operator and Viewer levels of access. A LOT of cameras don't offer multiple logon ability. The cam can also do IP filtering with whitelist and blacklist control. If you really want to protect access to the cam and lock it down to just work ranges or cell provider ranges, you can do that.- Logging. There is a basic operations and access log you can check on the cam to see what it's been doing. This seems quirky at times and hopefully will improve with a firmware update.- Mobile App (iSmartViewPro). This thing works great. As I mention above, this app works with the vendor's cloud service so once you config your cam by a local search you'll have access to it externally from your network. It has always been responsive, found my cams whenever I pull it up and has never crashed on any of my iOS or Android devices (I have a few of each). You access the video feed from your cam and you can set most of the config options that the web interface does.- Night video range. 24 IR emitters easily light up my entire back deck and front porch. I can lay in bed and check the outside of the house out with ease and get some peace of mind.- WebDav access to the cam. This cam has webdav available which means if you have a webdav client such as WebDrive you can access the sdcard storage from Windows Explorer or your client's interface and bulk transfer files. This is really nice and something MANY video cams do not offer. You can download videos and images from the cam using its web interface easily also. The cons....- This is a fixed camera but has a digital zoom ability. I would like the pan and tilt controls to move the zoomed image around but they do not. That means you can only zoom in to a single point. You can't pan to a different area of the zoom.- New company without a support website currently. They seem to be using their product page on Amazon as their support point offering Dropbox links for software downloads. That does work I suppose and after purchasing the cams I did receive an email from them asking for my feedback. They were very responsive to my replies and let me know that a support website is in the works. So, hopefully that will be coming soon.- Hyper motion sensitivity. This is probably my biggest concern and one I hope a firmware update will address. You can define up to 4 rectangular zones in the cam display and set sensitivity levels for each which is nice. However, I have the cam on my back deck set for one zone with a sensitivity of 1 (scale is 1 to 100) and I still get 20-35 alarms a night for no apparent motion. The alarm logic is very sensitive to light changes and just flipping on a light near the back window will trigger an alarm. I also believe bugs flying around the IR emitters are triggering the alarms. I would like to see a feature that lets me define the duration of motion before triggering an alarm which would eliminate bug fly bys or leaf drops from the backyard trees.- Not *fully* outdoor worthy I believe. Yeah, the camera has a solid aluminum housing that can easily withstand the elements. But, the power brick just seems to be your average indoor brick and hanging off the back end of the cam is a three connector bundle of cables; 1 for power, 1 with a reset/WiFi easy connect button and 1 LAN cable connector. The lan connector has to be protected from the elements with a plastic wrap or tucked up under a porch overhang since the RJ45 connector is open to the world. It did not come with a weather cover. The power brick... eh, I'm worried that's not externally rated so I have that under protection on both of my cams, one under the front porch and the other enclosed in a utility box.So, currently I'm giving this cam 4 stars leaning toward 5. The hyper sensitivity issue on alarms is a pretty big annoyance. If you use email alerting on alarms it can be overwhelming to get 40 alerts per night for no apparent reason. But, alerting to FTP and reviewing the images afterwards isn't too bad. If you're just looking for a cam for remote viewing to keep live tabs on something or let the cam do cycling recordings, this is a 5 star cam. I'll be happy to update my review after the first firmware update but I'm still very comfortable endorsing this cam to anyone who is looking for an outdoor security device with plenty of features and great image quality.UPDATE (11/1/2015) : I have had to physically power cycle both of my cams a couple of times since writing my original review in order to get them to begin to detect motion again and engage the alarm actions accordingly. All other features seem fine except for the motion detection. Not even a soft reboot of the cams through the web interface brought the motion detection back online. This is in line with the existing quirkiness of the motion detection problems as mentioned above. Hopefully this aspect of the cam will be one of the focuses of any future firmware updates that are made available.

arrived before expected, love them that's not my need. Can't beat it for the price just So-So. Cheaply designed Brilliant device! Good quality. Excellent product. Fabulous gadget. It works very well. Not well built. product is fine. pretty good product
Not bad for the price.

Works as described. Not bad at all for the price in my opinion . Only thing I didn't like is if you want to use focus or zoom your hand is pretty much in front of the camera while adjusting it so it's really hard to focus in when your hand in the the way . All and all its still not bad for the price .
So Far So Good!

Very easy to install replacing a 4th Video Secu dome that fails every time after 2 to 4 months. The day and night both work great and clear....very happy so far...only gave it 4 stars because it's only been installed for a few weeks.....if it beats the short life of the other brand I would bump it up to a 5 star.....
So far so good looks better than the previous done I had installed
July 4, 2016
So far so good looks better than the previous done I had installed, only reason for 4 stars is the IR could be a little brighter in my opinion but overall it has a good picture for the price
Not bad for $40 :-)
November 14, 2014
I installed two of these today for a customer who was expanding an older system. We were immediately impressed by the hard metal case. Put four deck screws in this camera's mounting bracket and it would probably survive a baseball bat. Zoom and focus were easy to adjust and the light sensor was very responsive. The nice thing about these cameras is that they're not covered by plastic domes that would otherwise become dull or reflect the LEDs back into the lens. The user manual is loosely-translated from Chinese. Most of it you already know. The important missing part is how to take it apart for installation: Hold the top part (with the cable notches) and twist that ring just below it. If you didn't buy a 12-volt adapter, you could always use an old one from your Linksys router. This is an older-style CCTV camera that uses BNC connectors and Siamese cable (RG-59 with extra power wires) to a DVR or video monitor. It is not for SDI or HD CVI systems and is not an IP camera nor is it wireless or POE (power over ethernet). It also does not remotely pan, tilt or zoom, and has no motors for doing so.For $40, they look good and they're quite solid. If you're wanting to expand or upgrade your current system, these would get the job done.
Pretty good
October 31, 2014
This camera is nice, but not as nice as the 101AV. They look very similar. This one has less LEDs and is less expensive. The metal is good quality and it is easy to adjust. I like that it has an adjustable lens. This makes it flexible for use in different locations.

The camera and app work. Photos and video are high quality. WiFi works well, Camera is approx 50 feet from router and through a few walls and still works well. Never dropped a signal and have had it installed for more than a week. Highly sensitive motion detector that took a while to adjust. Instructions for settings and how to operate are poor so if you are not technically inclined and enjoy exploring, you won't enjoy fine tuning the camera settings. If you have a short area you will want a shorter camera or wide angle. Works for my area but could use more span. Overall I'm satisfied with the camera.

November 29, 2015
Pros:Very well constructed. All metal construction. Feels better-made than more expensive brandsVery sharp footage except there's probably a little over-sharpening. You can see halos around edges.Night vision range is pretty good. You can set it up to have image/vid captured to internal card as well as ftp. Thus if perpetrator attempts to remove the camera/card, you still have footage in cyberspace. This saves cloud service fees too.Continuous real-time viewing didn't burden home Wifi much.Good customer service. Email questions were answered within 24 hours.Cons:MicroSD card is built-in, and its capacity is only 8GB. So if you set it up to record continuously at 1080p resolution, it will have to overwrite footage from the same day. Replacing the card will void the warranty.Sensor is hyper-sensitive. or maybe the unit in mine is faulty. On default setting, I received 400+ alert messages on the day I installed it. There were absolutely nothing happening in the view. I dropped the setting from 50 to 10, and turned off 4 of the 5 alert zones, still receive dozens of false alarms every day.The alert/capture lags behind the event. I did some tests and found out that when something happened in the view, the camera doesn't capture/send alert immediately. After 5-10 sec, it captured/sent alert. By then the person/vehicles were gone already. That may explain all the false alarms. Something might have actually triggered the alert, but by the time it captured the image, the activity was gone. The triggered recording time is very short. IMHO this is the biggest drawback of the system. When someone walked into the scene and stayed in there for 10 sec, the camera started capturing. Then within seconds, the recording stopped, even when there's still plenty of action in the view. You'd be extremely lucky if the camera captures any criminal activities, because the window is just too narrow. I asked the manufacturer whether the alerted recording time can be increased, say at least keep recording until there's no more action in the view. The answer was no. And there's no way to modify this even via firmware update. You can work around this by setting it to record continuously. But then you're limited by the 8GB internal storage. It will delete the footage from the same day to make room for new footage, unless you set it to record lower res video, which defeats the 1080p selling point. Conclusion:Very good hardware and software package. A good real-time monitoring system. The alert/capture mechanism needs improvement.

Quality varies, depending on vendor.
September 30, 2017
The quality of the camera seems to vary depending on who the seller is. I've ordered several so far, and have received two variants from different sellers, one with gray cords and no silicon plugs in the zoom and focus adjustment holes, and one with black cords that comes with the silicon plugs. The black cord version is good quality, it provides a clear, wide image. The gray cord version is poor quality, with a narrow image that remains blurry no matter how you attempt to adjust the zoom and focus settings. The black cord version would rate 5 stars without question, the gray cord version is two stars at best, it is not of the quality in this camera's description.

Not for Android box viewing.
April 5, 2017
I was purchasing this particular camera to use to monitor my yard via an Android box. I asked IdeaNext if it worked with Android boxes, since the other cameras I already have do not. They said "yes." I believe they are completely wrong. This camera is fine if all you want it for is to view using iSmartViewPro on a phone or computer - but, as with all my other cameras, will not work with an Android box I've found to this time.
The camera actually takes a good picture, BUT the problem is the software
July 15, 2016
The camera actually takes a good picture, BUT the problem is the software. It seems close to impossible to use. I don't know how to get the camera to stop taking hundreds of pictures a day. Over all this camera is a disappointment. Maybe software updates will fix these glitches, but who knows and unfortunately I have spent hundreds on these cameras based on other good reviews that seem to be inaccurate.

We just put this camera up and I am so disappointed in the picture. I paid twice as much to get a better closer picture and didn't get either one. Maybe the camera is too far away from the router?

Picture was great, IR's were strong and worked well for the distance needed. BUT 3 days after install we had several inches of rain and now the lens is fogged with moister.Guess it's not as "Weather and vandal resistant housing that can withstand the toughest of outdoor conditions." as advertised.

Bad quality image
March 9, 2015
First off, I was really excited and looking forward to buy this camera since long time ago. Well, I wish I never did. Got it out of the package right away, then hooked up the connectors and Bam!!! Bad quality image. After adjusting the zoom and focus over and over again, there was never a good quality image. I do understand the camera needs adjustment, however after so many attempts to get it right, I was never able to do so. The original pricing for this camera was really high and to find it for $40.00 looks like a good deal. I bought a Zmodo camera for $24.00 last week that has better image quality than this R-Tech camera. One of the main reasons I bought the R-Tech was the ability to get a 2.6mm lens angle. I would love to return it, however I rarely return anything I buy, unless is broken or DOA, and that has never happened to me buying from Amazon. For reference I'm not really picky about image quality, but even a cheapest camera has better image quality. Also after adjusting the Zoom and focus several times, the little adjusters started to get out of shape way too soon (since it looks like they're made out of plastic), so in the near future I won't be able to adjust anything. The only pros are the metal casing which is really good and the Night vision which is really bright. My recommendation is to pick something else. I'll buy me another one soon from a different brand. I'll try to upload a picture soon. I always read the reviews before I buy anything on Amazon, and after reading the positive reviews it wasn't a brainer to go for it, however the reviews are not reflecting how you are going to feel once you get this camera. You can always return it right? but the hassle of doing so...not my thing!!!!

Camera pictures go nowhere, even after setting up a Google account to allow stupid third-party devices access. Pictures are also not being saved to the SD card.
Night time IR is poor at best
May 12, 2017
Daytime imagery is acceptable. Night time IR is poor at best. Wired setup is easy enough but the wireless is next to impossible. the first issue is they want you to set your default web browser to "internet explorer". this should never happen . After hours of fooling around with it I managed to get the wireless up and running then a power failure and right back to zero. To be avoided at all cost
IDEANEXT NOT A GOOD DEAL!

From day one the unit will not stay online! I have scanned the code and it goes on, same with hooking up a LAN and that also works if you don't mind climbing 18' up a ladder and removing the whole camera each time! When hooked up in the house with the LAN it goes on, unplug the LAN and it will connect but unplug it and place it back and it just screws up. NO, it is not my wifi signal! The unit is less than 35' from my router and I have other equipment over 100' with a 4 signal strength. Purchased just over 30 days and no return. I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone! There are way too many other decent ones to choose from and for a better bargain. I have never in 18 years of buying online ever left a bad review but this is for the seller also regarding a unit that should last years and their return policy for an item of this cost is unacceptable in my opinion.
STAY AWAY! If you are looking for a reliable security camera away from this product. Price alone doesn't reflect quality.

IMPORTANT UPDATE AFTER 7 MONTHS USAGE.Stopped working after nearly 7 months usage. Manufacturer does not respond. Piece of garbage, please save your money and get some reliable product. I have replaced it with another Phylink PLC-335PW Bullet HD1080, 1080P Full HD Waterproof Outdoor Home Wireless IP Security Camera, 6mm LensPros: None!Cons: Everything... read on and look for (-) for specific cons.I purchased this camera for $90 when it was on sale in November 2015. So I am ready to put that into drain. Do not purchase this product for the current price. It is not worth it. Please do not fall for the features described here compare to the price. You get what you pay for, period! My first impression on this camera was WOW! not just because of the features but their customer service. Though it looks like they are running the business from a "garage" somewhere in China, their support was excellent (initially). Customer support logged into my system for two full days remotely and realized the issues I had with windows 10. Their application did not detect the camera, neither recording worked on the PC. Same time camera was accessible via web interface. Though the issues was never resolved and they suggested to return it for a refund. I should have listened!!!(-) If you are a MAC user, forget about this one completely, their web interface is also with full of glitches when accessed from mac (irrespective of what browser you use).I kept this camera despite of the limited recording options and other short comings just because of the price I paid for this unit and the level of customer service I received initially without assessing many short comings of this camera. As suggested by the customer service I also tried with BlueIris for recording. Also tried other third party applications. It will disconnect itself from all applications in few hours. Why I am trying to connect to local PC for recording? (-)Their built-in 8Gig memory will only hold little over 4 hours of recording with the best video quality. If you can compromise with video quality you may get more recording hours. Well, I purchased a 1080p capable camera to have full quality video image. This problem could have been solved easily by allowing user to transfer files via FTP or using cloud service and keep memory card free of space or even over write existing files.(-) FTP will only allow you to send alarm (motion) detected images. (-) SMTP never works! No cloud connectivity (dropbox or any other service). (-) Camera would record continuously but not according to the settings. For example: I setup for 600 seconds continues recording per file. However, camera will record any duration it wants. (This problem is being resolved with current firmware 00.01.01.0039). (-) That is another pain to check for updates. (-) They do not have a website, so you have to dig into the random folders they created on drop box. Follow the link provided in the item description for downloading manual, software etc.(-) Transferring recordings via web interface or webdav clients are extremely slow, making it partially impossible for frequent manual file transfer.(-) I tried to contact customer service with some other questions via Skype and email. They never responded! Perhaps they are mad at me because I didn't return the camera as they suggested. My bad IdeaNext, won't happen again. :))I had to add 2 more cameras, but I ended up buying Phylink 1080P and Tryvision NC-335PW. I wanted to test them before deciding which one, but kept both of them because they are identical hardware with two different brands. Very reliable with lot of flexibility when comes to storage, FTP, Dropbox etc. I can download files from the camera super quick. Set up uploading files to FTP (local or remote) server. Once files are transferred they will be automatically deleted from camera memory card. Instant drop box upload in the event of motion detection. Even if some one try to destroy camera, before they could do it your alarm images will be in your drop box. Upload speed is incredible. These two cameras are $70 expensive than IdeaNext, but I have no regret spending more money for super reliability and dependability.

Poor resolution and the area covered by the camera is much smaller than most.. would work well for a very small area if you didn't need much for resolution. You get what you pay for.

These are junk. I missed my window to return the 3 that I bought. But they do not have a good clear picture... in the day it's noisy/grainy... at night it's way worse... and one of cameras flickers on and off. The housing is beefy.... could be hit with a baseball bat, but picture is bad. I would pass on purchasing these.
It's a good camera for the money.

UPDATE: This camera hasn't stood the test of time. When I power the camera up it will be color for a second, then switch to black and white. If I shine a flashlight directly at the camera it will switch back to color but daylight or even having it inside with bright lights on won't get it to switch. The infrared LED also do not turn on when it's in black and white mode, seriously broken.Original: Better image quality than the cheap VideoSecu dome camera (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TGC03U/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but larger body as well. I wish it had OSD to lock color/IR or set the lux at which it switched over (like http://www.amazon.com/DTVASION%C2%AE-DRB3TA-Color-Security-Camera/dp/B00KRW3DQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431280183&sr=8-1&keywords=osd+dome+camera) but that looks like a feature you can't get for under $50 on these dome cameras.
