Great bluray w wifi
September 9, 2017
This is exactly what I wanted .easy to set up used HDMI converter purchased on Amazon as well n works great excellent picture on older 60 in Phillips projector tv.quick delivery and great price thank you Amazon easy setup for WiFi also
Just works
July 9, 2017
Plays disks smoothly, upsamples early DVDs very well, and plays from the internet as easily as from a disk.I would like a light of some sort to show when it is on, and entering characters into, for example, YouTube search is cumbersome, but these are minor quibbles. Excellent value for the price.
Thou shalt not steal...but I think I did.

I feel like I stole this blu ray player. The quality of this device compared to what I paid for it...not even close. Love it!!
Great player for the price
June 6, 2017
Great player for the price. There was not a manual and it was not new, but I found information on line how to set it up. It works great and is easy to use!
First wireless bluray player
September 11, 2016
Easy to navigate the apps and fun to stream or watch movies with. Had some trouble registering the product, but after being referred through customer service that was done. Plays CDs, DVDs, and Blurays with no trouble. Streams a very clear picture. As far as I know the only apps you can connect to with this device are VUDU, Amazon, YouTube, Netflix, and OperaTV (which Is never heard of before). Happy with my purchase.
Living Color and Smooth Operation
March 15, 2016
Highly rated by Consumer Reports, this compact bad boy doesn’t give you all the bells and whistles that the higher priced models offer, but the few features it offers are pure golden. There’s no 3D, and there are fewer streaming services. But it delivers excellent high-def resolution on Blu-ray discs, and it seems to upgrade standard discs. It is also internet-ready with Wi-Fi connectivity to my home network. Highly recommended.

basically, Works! hey, just want to play blurays, dvds, cds... and this does the job for a cheap price. I bought two; if one goes bad, no big deal.
Love This Blu-Ray Player
April 11, 2017
SO GOOD! I got this the same day I ordered it from Amazon after mine broke. I was able to watch a DVD that I had really been looking forward to watching. I couldn't get it to work with my WiFi (probably something I was doing wrong) so I just hooked a data cable to the router and it works great for Netflix and Amazon Prime. And the price is very good also.
I love it!
January 28, 2017
I have now purchased 4 of these over the last year...not replacing any, but for gifts and I have one in my bedroom and den and got one for each of my daughters. I love it!!! I have told many friends about it!
Just what I needed
June 14, 2016
Well it is true there is no light to show player is on but to me that's a non issue. This fit the bill for what I needed it's got a small footprint and I hooked it up to net with Ethernet cable so no big deal. Don't use the apps much but overall I'm happy. A basic blu ray player for a good price that delivers what I needed. No is not a top line blu Ray player but that's not what I wanted. Needed something that would read DTS HD and master. Xbox one just seems to fall flat on sound decoding. Overall a great deal to me. Very happy
Deserves five stars at THIS price point.
April 27, 2016
This player was/is crazy cheap, and for its price it is a five-star product which happily responds to every Samsung remote that we have in the house. Discs load incredibly fast, and even the apps (Netflix, YouTube, etc) are very snappy. My family has used the player for weeks, and we haven't had to do a "pulled plug reset" even once. IMHO, a reviewer who buys this honestly-described product and then reviews it poorly because it doesn't have wifi is being unfair.
Simple, bare bones, fast, high quality, PERFECT
March 20, 2015
This player is for someone who wants a simple, fast, high waking Blu-ray player that will simply play a disc on your television in the best manner it can.I have a Roku 3 which takes care of all my streaming needs, so I just wanted an uncomplicated player that would load my discs quickly and play.So far, this unit does just that. It quickly loads discs, faster than I've ever seen in a player. I'm bitstreaming audio to my receiver so that I can hear DTS-HD Master. All is well. It's fast, plays every disc new and old, at the highest quality possible with Blu-ray discs

Almost Perfect
May 30, 2017
It works great and does everything I expected it to. It goes wonderful with my Samsung TV and I can even use the blu-ray player remote to control both. The only thing I don't like is there is no indicator to let you know if it is on or off. It's sometimes a guessing game. Other than that, its perfect.
Seems to be a good deal
April 12, 2017
Nice small Blueray player with Wifi that connected in under a minute. Includes Netflix ,Amazon apps and several others. Picture is sharp and clear.
For the price seems to be a good deal. The omly thing I dislike is that there is not one single small light on the front to show that it is powered on. In fact there are no lights at all on the front, very hard to see anything sometimes.

February 3, 2016
As a blu-ray player and media hub, it works great. As is common with many Samsung devices (apparently, I found out while researching ways to troubleshoot), powering it off and on can create some issues with internet connectivity (namely that it takes FOREVER to "update system time"). I've found that turning my system settings to allow Quick Start mode (decreases boot time by putting the device into a hibernation mode instead of full power down, this is not the default) prevents this issue once it resolves at the small cost of my electric bill.

January 6, 2016
It does more than I would expect from a $50 DVD player. I use this on a non-internet ready TV. The cable remote was programmable for this player so I only need the cable remote to control the cable box, tv, and this dvd player. This dvd player has transformed my TV into a somewhat internet ready TV. I watch netflix thorugh this player. People complain about this player not having a power light on the front. It is a pain not to have an indicator light. On the other hand, if you are watching movies in the dark, you don't have to cover up the front of the dvd player if lights from front displays bother you. This was a good deal. I t can take a little while for the player to connect to the internet if you want netflix, hulu, etc. when you power it up, but what's so urgent that you can't afford a few seconds before you spend a couple hours watching a movie?

Works great. I wish the player came with a play button, but I knew it didn't going into it and bought it anyways. Sometimes with 3 kids, the remote goes missing and instead of hunting around for it I'd love to push the button from the console.
Great for the price
May 29, 2017
I really like this little DVD player. Its works well and its really cheap. So light that I can move it from room to room if need be. I liked it so much that I actually bought a second one. Only downside is their is no display so you dont know if its even on or not.
Which is fine. You can play your Blu-ray and DVD discs ...
January 7, 2016
It's a Blu-ray player. Which is fine. You can play your Blu-ray and DVD discs in it. The only thing that I don't like about it is there is NO DISPLAY IN THE FRONT OF THE UNIT. So you don't know if it's on or off (by looking at the unit.) The other disc player (DVD) that I've had have displays on the front. So you know what chapter the disc you're watching is on as well as elapsed time (or time to the end of the disc if you've set up your player that way, suffice it to say, you'll know the elapsed time!) The only way to know if it's on or off is if you go to the HDMI port you have the unit plugged into and check. This unit has (and if you have a "Smart" tv) all of the features of your smart tv, in that you can look at Netflix, Hulu etc from the unit. But this is a bit redundant' like I stated if you already have a Smart HD tv. Also it doesn't use WI-FI You have to connect it via a physical cord to your router. (To update the internal software and such) Still you can't beat the price. But as far as players go there are better ones out there. But still given the price and features it's not bad.
This device is a good combination of cheap and useful
November 1, 2015
This device is a good combination of cheap and useful. It would be great in a spare bedroom. If you have a monster entertainment system, it's going to look out of place next to the high end stuff. I read the reviews about the lack of a power indicator before buying. I didn't think it would bother me so I bought this model. It's not a deal breaker but I do notice and I mutter something every time that I try to turn on the player. I don't love the curved design of the piece either. I have a Bose radio sitting on top of it so I can use as auxiliary speakers. It kind of bugs me that the stack is not perfectly lined up. I didn't take dock any stars for that since I recognize that is my own personal hangup.
No light
September 29, 2015
Like they say no light on machine cannot tell if on unless have input on TV set input it's connected to. Bought this because vizio player remote controlled my sound bar everytime I checked how much movie was left. I don't recommend with no light at all or who thought that was good idea. Small remote with crowded buttons.
Quick setup + no lag when loading discs == my kind of player
March 25, 2015
First experience out of the box was fast. Setup ran without a hitch and once we inserted a Blue Ray, it loaded up with a very, very short lag and went straight to the menu. Navigation was seamless and the picture seemed to be even better than my old Sony put out...go figure. The box is incredibly small and lightweight. I have so many smart devices in the home I didn't even bother to wire this one up and there was no opposition to running it this way when configuring.

Ok for a player but I think you can do better
September 11, 2017
The DVD part works well however lack of any indicator lights at all for anything on the front is somewhat frustrating. Had trouble with the built-in wireless as it seems not to be very strong in terms of signal reception keep losing signal, have a Roku stick in the same area and have not troubles with it.
Fuzzy for DVD moviees
July 26, 2017
Only used for a few DVD movies. Didn't try blu ray in it yet. All the DVDs I tried are fuzzy picture, played much better in an actual DVD player. Just let it sit since then. May work better with actual Blu Ray, I just haven't found out yet.
Pay a little more next time.
March 12, 2017
Great when it decides to work, the picture is excellent when playing netflix and dvds but has a tendency to just stop and lock up when streaming. We have to pull the plug on it and restart quite often. Some days it refuses to connect at all. Guessing we should have paid a little more and gotten one a little better. Too bad, when it is working it is really nice.
Only 145 apps not 250+ like box says.
October 20, 2016
Great unit although their are only access to 145 apps not the 250+ apps stated on box.I called Samsung they said nothing they could do .Unless Opera store app adds more their app is cloud based. I think I will call them next. The Amazon and Netflix app play's better picture on Bluray player than my Fire stick maybe because of more memory in Samsung.Sony was having too much trouble with their units that's why I picked this unit .Samsung sells a 3D bluray that might be a better option it has a web browser than maybe you are able to get more apps also it is not Opera store it's Samsung apps.and also has front display. Gave 3 stars only because of Low amount off apps. There is also no mirroring with my Kindle to the unit.
I liked my old one better.
September 26, 2016
I purchased this Blu-ray to replace an older model (BD-F5700/ZA purchased in 2013) which had stopped playing Blu-ray discs after 2 1/2 years. It plays discs as well as the old one except but the loading time and responsiveness of the tray when pushing the button are delayed. Which brings me to my next disappointment. It has actual buttons instead of the touch response of the old one. It also has a matte finish which doesn't match the glossy appearance of my other Samsung home entertainment products. In general, it does what it is supposed to do, but I don't enjoy it as much.

This Blu-ray DVD play is amazing. It plays both regular DVDs and Blu-ray
August 3, 2016
This Blu-ray DVD play is amazing. It plays both regular DVDs and Blu-ray. It also allows you to connect directly to the internet so you can watch YouTube, Hulu and Netflix programs from the comfort of your couch. Couple of opportunities for improvement - you can't tell when it is on because there is no power light indicator. Also, when you are watching a series on Netflix, it freezes up between episodes and won't auto play. The only way to get it working again was for me to unplug it and plug it back in. But there is a solution. If you hit the back button just as the ending credits begin, select more episodes and then click play on the next episode, you won't have to get up and unplug it. Other than that really a cool device with a sleek design. Price was GREAT! Challenges or not, well worth the buy.

October 30, 2015
Works fine, has a lot of functions like playing videos from Netflix, Amazon etc. A little hard to set up - the onscreen keyboard is not the best option, would be better if one could ssh in or use some mobile app to enter configuration for the services. One thing disappointed: does not play a lot of video formats (comparing with other DVD players that play virtually every format). If you enter the disk it cannot play then you get an error message and the only option is to eject the disk. At least should allow to see the disk contents.
Looks cheap, feels cheap, works GREAT ... but... no Spotify app !!
August 18, 2015
Five stars for ease of setup and functionality. Plays my CD's and Blu-Ray DVD's flawlessly with state of the art lossless bitstream output. Minus a star for looks & feels cheap and no outside light indicating whether it's powered on or not. However, minus two stars for not having my favorite music app Spotify. If you just want an inexpensive Blu-Ray player without WiFI that is fast and easy to use this is it. But, I'm very disappointed that it doesn't include the Spotify app so it gets only 3 stars from me.
Good player - frustrating details
April 27, 2015
Actual Performance is excellent. Clean, quick playing. I have a few beefs though...1. Looks cheap. I mean, it looks really really cheap. Sitting there among the x box and the Wii, etc, etc, etc it's like "which one of these things dosen't look high tech?". Answer... the DVD player.2. The menu and set up is not slick. In fact it's so ugly as to be almost retro.3. There is no light!!! You can't figure out if this thing is on or off half the time! There is absolutely ZERO indicators as to whether or not there is power on or off! More then once I have had to hit the button multiple times to actually get it on because one of the kids left it on and I could not tell.Yeah, I would buy it again but the no light thing is so annoying I probably would look for a different one instead.

Bad Samsung!
September 27, 2017
I can usually rely on Samsung products, but this one was below standards. There are times when the player would freeze or turn off, and I would have to unplug, wait a few minutes, and turn on. This happens a few times each week. I learned to live with it, but NOW IT WON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE MY WIFI AND SO I CANNOT USE IT FOR APPS AT ALL, JUST A BLU-RAY PLAYER----What a waste!!!
This DVD player with Wi-Fi works fine as a DVD player
March 15, 2017
This DVD player with Wi-Fi works fine as a DVD player, but it seems that every time I turn it on, I need to log into our Wi-Fi, and proves difficult to do most times.
Why Samsung?
March 9, 2017
I am deeply disappointed in this player. It plays blu rays quickly and well, but this is the only positive I have to share of the product. Samsung has truly lowered their quality in their products. Exploding Note 7 phones, washing machines with issues, TV's also having performance issues, and the blu player too has issues. My older Samsung products were awesome and lasted a long time. This player worked great for about 2 weeks, then it started having issues connecting. I have done everything to trouble shoot this player and it is at a point where the wireless card is not working at all in the player. I guess it is time for me to change brands and forget Samsung until they realize their errors and begin to produce quality products once again. Two stars only because it plays the dvd/blu rays beautifully. If you just want a blu ray player and do not care for Netflix hulu, amazon prime then you won't be disappointed.
No power on light
January 9, 2017
This unit works decent but it's a bit slow and it doesn't have a power light so you really don't know when it's on or off unless your TV is on, it's kinda weird I've never owned a DVD player that did not have one and I won't ever own one again without it. I mean were they trying to say money on that!? It may not bother some people but it drives me crazy when I first got it I thought it was broken
Meh.
July 5, 2016
I bought this refurbished, hoping that the person who had done the refurbishing would've worked out the glitches. That's not true. While this blu-Ray player is a good bang for your buck and is really nifty when it actually works, the glitchy stuff gets so annoying. Like for example, sometimes it just freezes on a black screen and the only way to get it to work again is by unplugging it and plugging it back in again. This just happened to me for the second time and we've only had this thing for just over a week. Whatever. It works for now until I can afford an Xbox One.
Worse, when attempting to stream from Amazon Instant Video
August 27, 2015
Wretched user interface. Worse, when attempting to stream from Amazon Instant Video, every few minutes it stops and says that "it can't connect with Amazon". I suspect this has to do with my pathetic barely-3Mbps DSL service. However, my other devices (AppleTV, old Sony Bluray) simply pause the playback for a few seconds and then keep playing; this device requires you to restart whatever it is you're watching (a real pain). I have no idea if this is only with Amazon Video or with other streaming services as well. It should be noted that I also have an AppleTV, and streaming of Netflix, HBOGo, etc works just fine on it (with the occasional pause mentioned above). So this may be a perfectly adequate unit if you have good broadband internet, but if yours is marginal like mine, steer clear of this unit (my old Sony Bluray streamed just fine from my internet as well, until planned obsolescence caused it to stop connecting).

Received opened player
April 25, 2017
Item description is "new" condition, however the one I received was obviously used, the player was no longer wrapped in plastic and the remote was outside of the plastic wrapper with the batteries inside already. It does work, I hope it continues working.
Very cheap construction. Fast player and good value if it works. Mine was faulty and the power buttons did not work.
July 16, 2016
I'm being generous giving this 2 stars, with the assumption that most of them work. Mine did not. It's a cheap player, so it's not a shock that the casing looks really cheap. It's plastic and has a little rubber hinge for hiding the USB panel. It's fine if hidden away in a cabinet, but otherwise it's pretty ugly. It's small though, which may be a bonus for some people.I'm comparing to my first generation Sony player, and I will say it is very fast. Not even a comparison. It loads discs quickly and powers up quickly. The menu is pretty basic and not that user friendly. But it's fine, partiuclarly for the price. I didn't try any of the streaming options, as that's not why I bought it. But the wired network connection was obviously quick and easy to get going and worked well (I used it to download an update).I have two major issues with this. The lesser is that it is pretty loud when spinning a disk. In a cabinet it's not a problem, but if you have it near you in the room, it could be annoying. The bigger issue is that mine didn't power on with either the button on the unit, or the one on the remote. I randomly got it to power on right after plugging it in. But I only got it powered up twice this way. It never worked with just a button press. POwering off worked just fine, so I know the buttons themselves worked. I updated to the latest firmware hoping it was a fluke, but it still didn't work. This kind of issue isn't really reasonable. I bumped into at least one other user with the same problem. If you read reviews, you'll see other issues as well. It's a cheap player - but they might have cheaped out a little too much. I would have gladly paid $20 more for one that was made with some higher quality components. If you get one that works, it's probably Ok for really basic use. Could be great for a kids room. But generally I woudl not recommend taking a chance on this.Lastly, I was surprised at how Amazon's customer service has taken a dive. I am a prime customer, and I buy a lot here like everyone else. This was about a $50 item, and they sent me a faulty one. To get a refund, I have to wait until they receive the item before I get a refund. I use Amazon for the convenience - so it's pretty annoying when I have to make extra trips and wait a couple of weeks to get my money back when they sell me a faulty product. They need to either stop carrying garbage, or handle refunds for faulty equipment better. In the past, they would have given me an immediate refund.
Defective
June 18, 2016
During Blu-ray playback my unit consistently "glitches" such that the video goes into slow-motion for about a second at a time. It happens once or twice per movie. I bought this to replace a $50 Sony Blu-ray player that also had major issues. Why do I keep buying these cheap little crappy players?!

June 8, 2016
I suppose it would have been ok if it had worked, but the picture kept dropping out during streaming and during Blu-ray disc playing. Sound never dropped out, but picture did. Now, for the really AMAZING thing: I accidentally left a movie in the disc player (Sisters, starring Amy Pohler and Liz Lemon, decent movie). And guess what!?? Amazon returned my disc, and I did not even contact them about it. I just figured it was a lost Blu-ray disc. Wow! Amazon continually amazes me with their customer service! And they make returns so simple, a monkey could do it. How does a company so large have the BEST customer service?

June 6, 2016
This is an inexpensive Blu-ray player, but has some flaws. The remote is rather small, and for some reason there is no power indicator to show if the unit is on. A few times my universal remote must have not turned off the device- who knows for how long the disc may have been spinning in the tray. The primary deal breaker for me has been multiple instances of a "Cinavia error" while playing commercial Netflix discs. This cuts out the audio throughout the movie, making it unwatchable. Even after performing a firmware update in the middle of movie night, the issue kept occurring. After a second Netflix disc had the same problem this unit is now in storage and my old reliable DVD player is back on the TV stand. I'll have to look for another unit that can reliably play commercial discs.

November 5, 2016
Be forewarned, Samsung auto software down loads can disable this players internet access for netflix, etc. . After an extended vacation I accepted the auto update request and wireless/internet became inop. Samsung support was worthless and had no clue re their failure to identify this breakdown in their DVD software update process where apparently spanning multiple update versions, their process fails. After many Samsung contacts and having my provider (Verizon) on site and at least 5 attempts to resolve with Samsung support, I purchased another new dvd of this model. It works but I did not accept the software update and disabled the update option. Finally after many hours over 2 weeks, Samsung tech admitted their failure and mailed me a USB software fix, which true to form, did not work after multiple attempts since the corrupted dvd could not recognize the USB data. Now their latest uninformed support person tells me to return dvd to repair (under warranty) for a software correction. My guess is since this is an older mode and available at lower prices Samsung just does not care enough to maintain a professional level of tracking and resolving related software problems. This model has been a solid performer, but left behind by Samsung support.
Cannot discover or hold WiFi connection
May 29, 2016
I should have paid better attention to the reviews. This unit has extreme difficulty find the WiFi, even from just a few feet away. Once it has discovered the WiFi it cannot hold it. Constant rebooting by unplugging and plugging it back into the electrical outlet is required and it can take several time before if finds the WiFi again. Moving it to the next room resulted in the WiFi never being discovered by the unit. Decided to try the Roku stick and it works to perfection. We are now using that along with an old Blu-Ray player instead of a all-in-one unit. Sad.
