Could never give it up!
June 21, 2016
I love this thing! I have a tight evening schedule after the evening commute and I have to have dinner made quickly so my kids can still get to bed at a decent hour. This pot cook things completely in a matter of minutes. I made our favorite slow cooker meal in it and it came out just as flavorful and fully cooked as it did when it simmered for 8 hours - and I set it in this pressure cooker for 25 minutes. It's good quality, haven't had one problem with it. The inner container removes for easy cleanup too.I use this so much that it rarely gets put back into the cupboard. It has become more useful than my rice cooker (and that's saying a lot).Highly recommended.
Not Your Mother's Pressure Cooker!
February 22, 2016
Wow! Not your mother's pressure cooker. If you haven't used an electric pressure cooker, what are you waiting for? This was a birthday present from my husband and I really love what I am able to do with this appliance. Most importantly, my family thoroughly enjoys what I prepare from desserts to soups to entrees. Fast, easy with delicious results.I love it, however, if I had it to do over again, I would purchase the Insta-Pot 7. It has features that are just better than the Cuisinart. It's a bit more expensive, but I think it's probably worth it. When we purchased a pressure cooker for our son and number-two daughter, it was the Insta-Pot. It has a stainless steel pot rather than a non-stick coating. With my pressure cooker, I made sure I purchased a basic cookbook. I have a couple now as well as several online resources. My first book however is Great Food Fast (Best of the Best Presents) Bob Warden's Ultimate Pressure Cooker Recipes. It's wonderful!
I love this and know I'm going to enjoy it more and more as I try more recipes!
January 6, 2016
This is nothing like the old pressure cookers in that it takes all the guesswork out and cooks things perfectly. You don't have to stand there and watch it to make sure it doesn't "blow its top". I made a delicious half turkey breast that was cooked to perfection in 38 minutes - moist and not the least bit dried out although completely cooked. I also have fixed an excellent chicken cacciatore that cooked the chicken perfectly in 8 minutes. I just got it for Christmas so haven't had a chance to try out a lot of recipes yet. But so far, I'm delighted and know it's going to cut a lot of cooking time out when I'm busy. I also fixed excellent ribs on New Year's Day in about 38 minutes. Love that it has a browning feature so that you don't have to use a skillet to do it before cooking.
What a great discovery for me!
October 30, 2015
I bought this on a whim after watching a late night infomercial. I wanted something to cook well, but be time sensitive. I was kind of over the Slow Cooker's super tender outputs and unreasonable time restrictions (Find a 9-10 hour recipe, most are 6-8 on low, with a full workday and commute, it's mush by the time I got home)I'm a total newbie when it comes to using this. I've done about 7 or 8 recipes (chili, pork roasts, stews and roasted chicken boneless and bone in) and I've got to say, it's become my new favorite thing. Every recipe has been pretty spot on (although some of the flavorings in my more adventurous forays have been a little interesting) and the result has been absolutely perfect.Part of the key is the browning step. You get the sear, you get the deglazing, and it doesn't get diluted with hours of cooking like the slow cooker. I prefer to do my browning in a stainless steel pan, but that doesn't take away from this unit's appeal. The first time I used it, I browned meat, deglazed and started her up, and then preheated my oven for some dinner rolls. The entree was done before I was able to get my rolls into the oven. And done well! It's a whole new world and learning curve using something that cooks so quickly and well. This unit has a pressure valve, that's easy to see/use, with a full pressure 'button' in the handle that will activate when the desired pressure is achieved. When that button pops up (Kind of like a turkey indicator) the timer on the unit starts to cook, and constant pressure is maintained. As others have mentioned, I've noticed that when it's coming up to hit the right pressure, a bit of steam comes out of there, and I've bumped it with a toothpick to make sure it engages, but I've not experienced the issue of it not getting pressure. (I've bumped it before it's ready and then waited and it has eventually popped up) the lid has three parts, the top, a gasket and a metal insert that secures the gasket (there's a screw that acts as a knob to pull it all apart for cleaning. the screw also helps tell what part is 'out' when reassembling.)I made the mistake of purchasing the Miss Vickie book of recipes, and this book does not do a good job of converting stovetop pressure cooker recipes to the electric one. The author seems to have something against the electric units, so I bought the Great Big Pressure Cooker book, off of amazon and it's a much better book (with a few of those adventurous recipes I mentioned earlier) The big difference is that there's not an ideal way to do a cool water depressurization with the electronic units. I'm not intending to make mine the end all be all of all recipes, just a way to get dinner on the table within an hour in most cases, and a less labor intensive Sunday dinner in others.I've not tried cooking from frozen as many things I've read advise against it, but I still think this is an amazing unit. The keep warm feature is kind of great, and kicks on when the 'natural depressurization' method is complete, so you can work on your timing without ruining dinner. It cleans up beautifully, with the non stick insert basically wiping clean and the other parts are short work in soapy water. I'm told the pan is dishwasher safe, but I also know that the dishwasher may make the nonstick coating flake and dry out, so I've been handwashing it.Because you don't use as much liquid, and the cooking time is less, you end up with more flavor in the end result, than you would with a slow cooker.
Does what you need for just under $100
April 16, 2015
Requirements:-Needed a pressure cooker that was solid/safe, easy to use, easy to clean, and consistent-Needed to be big enough to cook dishes for a family of 4-8-Didn't want to spend an outrageous priceBackground:-I use this pressure cooker to cook mainly taiwanese style beef noodle soups and other meat stews. I've always been a bit wary of using pressure cookers because.. well you're cooking with many lbs of pressure. My relatives use the manual pressure cookers, but come on, its the new millennium! GO ELECTRIC!Pros:-Timer function: set it and forget it! Once you calibrate your settings, just press start and let it cook. I would suspect that the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes, but I've never had to go above 30.-Pressure sensor and lock: This cooker will not let you open the lid until the pressure is fully released. The little red indicator will tell you whether or not there's pressure built up. Also, you have the added feature of not being able to open it regardless of how hard you try, so that's nice.-2 ways to carry: even if there's pressure in the cooker, you can carry this using the top or side handles.-Spill reservoir around the top: if you release the pressure too soon, there is the possibility of liquid to spew from the pressure nozzle. If that happens, there is a decent sized lip that will trap some of the liquid from spilling everywhere. The lip is large enough so that you have enough time to re-enable the pressure trigger even in a panicked state.-Universal power cable: The cable used is the same ones that you use for your flat screen TV's, monitors, and computers. If you lose or misplace your cable, you don't have to go online to look for a spare. Odds are that you have a spare one from an old computer or whatever lying around the house-Not overly heavy: Pressure cookers are meant to be solid so that it can withstand the amount of pressure being applied to the inner chamber. Even though this one is quite solid, it's still light enough to be used by a small elderly Chinese woman.-Non stick base: The base pot is a non stick pot which enables easier cleaning for your fattier stews-Quick release inner top: The inner plate that triggers the pressure value can be easily removed and comes with a little prong to aid in removing and installation. This allows for easier cleaning.Complaints:-The pressure trigger is designed so that you can toggle it on or off using any sort of chop stick or long apparatus. The trigger is also the same device that releases the pressure. If you release the pressure too soon, hot steam or liquid can spew everywhere and splash on to your hands. I'm fairly certain that this is a common design that is applied to most all pressure cookers, but I wish it were designed so that the pressure release was no where near the pressure release valve. Conclusion:All in all, I'm happy with this model. It's big enough to cook a big big pot of beef noodle soup, easy to clean, and sleek. It looks a lot prettier than most rice cookers and will easily go with most modern kitchen design motifs. The universal power cable is an added benefit because I don't have to worry about losing it.
My kids and I like the "rib soup" that my girlfriend makes
March 14, 2015
I bought one of these so I could have the same model as my girlfriend. My kids and I like the "rib soup" that my girlfriend makes, so I decided to get the pressure cooker so I can make the same recipe at home. Although I am just starting to use mine, I know my girlfriend has had hers for over a year and she uses her pressure cooker at least once a week as a rice cooker. She also makes rib soup and chicken soup in hers as well. So this seems to be a durable product that works well.

I love this except I lost the floater on the first washing. Bought the floater and sealer on amazon and haven't lost it since. Can make a beef stew in 15 minutes. Bought one for my daughter for her birthday because I think this is a great addition to a busy persons schedule that still wants to cook at home.
Pure Magic!
May 18, 2017
I love kitchen gadgets in general but this one is simply a pure thing of joy. It has really helped me develop a quick and simple means of having yummy steamed veggies. Toss them in, hit the button and in minutes... Magic!

Looking forward to learning more recipes focused on health but for now, my simple stuff is really making me love this machine more every day. 100% satisfied

Great Pressure Cooker!
October 25, 2015
This is the most used appliance in our home. It's easy and quick to make meals. I can make breakfast, lunch and dinner in this Pressure cooker. I add my ingredients and turn the lid and walk away and in a little bit its done! I love it! I'm giving this to my newly married daughter for Christmas!
Great to Have.
August 14, 2015
Had watched infomercials and read online about pressure cooker, but couldn't decide. Then just did it! So glad I did. A very versatile cooker. Ordered mine from Amazon along with the information/recipe book as too many folks had complained that the books that came with the cooker itself left much to be desired. So glad I did. Still learning to cook many different items and recipes with the pressure cooker.

Easy to use & looks nice just sitting there. The instruction manual does have some recipe guidelines included. It's versatility isn't intuitive.
Great Purchase!
November 2, 2016
I purchased the CPC-600AMZ - the product is awesome - I've made a variety of dishes in this appliance and it has yet to disappoint. like anything else, you have to use your "cooks feel" to get the maximum effectiveness for your dishes; but once you do --- yippeeee!!!!
Great concept not the best design
March 29, 2016
The floating valve gets stuck on at least 2/3 of the cooking attempts. However I found as it goes into pressure if I giggle it it will pop up. Otherwise this has been the best kitchen tool I have invested in ever!! I cook everything in this using it multiple times a week. Beans, rice, ribs, chicken, pasta, chili, soup, veggies. You name it. It is super carefree. Once it goes into pressure I am free to do other things. I wish the floating valve thing wasn't an issue or I would be buying this version for Christmas gifts for everyone.
Pressure cookers are great for poor planners like me!
February 13, 2016
I got this for Christmas and have been using it several times a week since then. Very happy with it, it is easy to use and it is great for a busy family because you can cook a nice pot roast dinner in the (hands on) time it would take you to make hamburger helper! Even if the roast was frozen! I love being able to make baked potatoes in 20 minutes, Brussels sprouts in 2 minutes! Pressure cookers for life! I gave only four stars because the controls aren't the most user friendly I find myself fooling around with them an undue amount of time.
Works well, but poorly designed release valve.
January 3, 2016
I like it, but don't love it. The venting valve is badly designed and MUST be opened using a pair of tongs or you'll burn yourself. The previous unit I had was better designed and allowed you to open and vent, by hand, with no risk of a hospital visit.I gave it four stars because it cooks well, is easy to clean and overall works, but the value design is just plain dangerous.
Although broke, but 3 yr warranty great, replaced for free in 1 week! :)
November 18, 2013
I love this pressure cooker; very convenient cooking. however, the buttons broke only after a couple months of use. i have maybe used it only 15 times. the buttons to select high pressure cooking is stuck and no longer work. amazon's return policy expired 8/13/13. No way to get replacement or repair.______________Updated review: manufacturer had a generous 3 year warranty; replaced my item in a week. very good service. still love the convenient product of the pressure cooker.

Great, but the times are misleading
January 17, 2017
If I made nothing by rice in this, it would totally be worth it. It takes longer than the cook time to make things though. None of the reaipe times include the pressurization time which can be up to 17 mins.
The Power Pressure Cooker XL will operate properly up to a maximum altitude of 2.000 ft above sea level.
October 21, 2016
I bought the Power Pressure Cooker XL because of the pressure canning feature. I was disappointed to see the Altitude and Pressure Canning section: The Power Pressure Cooker XL will operate properly up to a maximum altitude of 2.000 ft above sea level. Do not use this unit for pressure canning above an altitude of 2,000 ft." I live at 6,000 + so I will not be able to use this cooker for pressure canning. So that is the reason for my 4 star rating.
Love it. Use it often.
September 22, 2016
There is a learning curve to using it. But once you understand the process...it greatly reduces cooking time. Clean up is a snap!
Time and money saver but needs better instructions and recipes!
November 29, 2015
I like this product because of it versitility, but felt the instruction booklet and the included mini-cook books could have used better general instructions. Funny, how something like not being able to figure out how to set the timer according to the instructions can have on your opinion of a product. I have yet to use the canning function, but did cook a roast. The roast was not as tender as I had hoped, so will try it well-done next time. It greatly reduces cooking time and power useage, so I'll give it a bunch more tries before I give up on it.
Take the pressure out of cooking.
November 29, 2015
Amazing product. Does what is says.Only issue is that if incorrect timing is inputted, there is no way to undo as it can't be gauged down.
On the whole it's works perfectly. Enjoying d meals. No long time standing around a stove.

Great First Pressure Cooker, Will Explore Others Next Time
September 15, 2017
This is my first electric pressure cooker and it does the job. It does seem to take a long time to build pressure and thus I never really know how long it will take to cook something. With that being said, it does the job and for the price it's worth it as a first time purchase of a pressure cooker. I will be exploring other manufacturers when I go to buy a larger quart pressure cooker because I feel I can get better quality.

March 6, 2017
I did not find this product to be user friendly. It does work, but I get so frustrated with it because it does not have a regular time. I did cook some beef short ribs that came out well, but again because I don't know how to really use the timer it took more than one time to achieve the tenderness I was looking for.
Pressure Issues
November 27, 2016
I have mixed feelings about this pressure cooker. Like others, I am having issues with it coming up to pressure. It works about have the time I used it. I have read that it needs a certain amount of liquid but the manual is lacking. I think Cuisinart should come out with some better manual or instructional videos. It has been a disappointment so far.

Great until seal failed
August 3, 2015
Works great for three uses then it wouldn't seal no matter how many times or people tried. We even tried trouble shooting from the guide and nothing. No issues with return and I'm going for the instant pot like I was told to originally.Cooking and ease of use was great before it failed to seal though. I could probably have gotten a replacement easily but chose not to.

April 30, 2017
Attempting a refund from manufacturer after a year and two replacements. Tipping point was when realizing the browning function doesn't work properly and if used you have to turn off unit (in my case for about 20 minutes) before bringing up to pressure, totally defeating the purpose for which I bought the thing. Very annoying since this is a known issue and listed in the trouble shooting section. Why sell a poorly engineered product? I'll be trying the insta-pot next.
Should have bought an Instant Pot.
August 14, 2016
Bought an instant pot as a gift and I like it so much better. This one, sure it works but it has its difficulties.First off, that screw at the top rusted and kept rusting so we just removed it. It makes the top inner lid hard to remove but at least there's no rust! The "channel" around where the top lid attaches is hard to clean as you have to reach underneath a lip. When not used for a while, green rust/gunk forms on the top near where the handles attach the lid (probably from rust or glue I don't know.) We just wipe it off and it comes back later on.Sure it works but I should have bought and Instant Pot.

good news/ bad news.....
May 29, 2017
good news/ bad news...I bought this about six weeks ago . I 'm going to compare it to the Instant Pot , because I've had both. The good news is that this PC is simpler- which I loved. It was easy for me, a person who always has trouble figuring out a manual- to start cooking immediately because of the simplicity of the buttons. The food tasted fantastic.

Whenever asked, they claim that this is a stainless steel pot. Well- the outside of it is. But the inside, which comes in contact with your food- is not. The inner pot is a very lightweight teflon coated pot. I don't want teflon. Would rather have stainless steel. The upper lid appears to be aluminum. Both teflon and aluminum have negative effects on our bodies.

In addition, the floating vent ( not the release vent, but the vent inside the handle) fell out after one month's use and no matter how hard my husband and I tried, we could not get it to stay in. So instead of being a pressure cooker, all of the steam was released out of the hole in the handle. The liquid inside thus evaporated. Food burned and the meat got tough. I threw it out a few days ago, got an Instant Pot, which is clearly more solidly made. The inner pot and the inner lid are both made of stainless steel in the Instant Pot. I will say, however, that I do find the Instant Pot more complicated to work. So there you have it, my views of the two pots. I will say this, though. I will never, ever be without an electric pressure cooker from now on because the food tastes so great!

Doesn't Work!
October 3, 2016
Got this in April, used it once, it worked well. Packed up the house for yet another military move, now it's September, and just got it out to use the second time. The "time" button will not work, so I can't set the time, and the lid won't lock. I looked at reviews online, and nearly all of them said the same thing. I found one review here on Amazon that says the same thing.
Avoid the Cuisinart 600--product failed after 3 uses!
May 8, 2016
Cuisinart, what happened to your quality control? Exactly like all the other 27 negative reviews for this pressure cooker, our brand new pressure cooker (used 3 times) stopped holding pressure and defaulted repeatedly to the "keep warm" setting in the middle of cooking our family's dinner...and it was only our third use of this product! We checked all the seals and gaskets, unplugged it and let it cool, and did everything Cuisinart's website suggested. Same problem kept happening, ruining our dinner and our faith in Cuisinart. As the negative reviews make clear, this is a KNOWN and common issue...so why is Cuisinart still selling this model? We were excited to get it, had great results for our first few meals, and then it quit working. Avoid this model (and Cuisinart), pressure cooker fans. Super disappointing.
Terrible quality! So dangours
February 8, 2016
I bought the product but did not use it until my rice cooker broke about one year after I bought this one. It is not difficult to use and at the beginning I think this is a good buy. However, after about 2 month use (I only use it for rice cooking). The day before yesterday during the cooking, I heard a loud sound from it sounds like something blowed. Did not see anything unitl when clean it, the pressure/pressure release vavle broke (the pictured part) and a small medal piece was found in the dish next by the cooker.Unfortunately we bought it too early and not be able to return it. Be carefull with it if you decide to buy it.

January 7, 2016
I got this for my wife and she hates it, she says she is going back to her slow cooker. She put in a small roast and it took over a hr to cook it, tried another one cooked it 40 min still bloody in middle, so went for another 53 min still red in middle so added 20 more minutes ans she says she wont ever use it again, It says to put it on the meat chicken and we do. I am his wife and yes I do hate it I may as well be using my slow cooker. I don't know if I need to try a different brand or what but I was so looking forward to this and enden up so disappointed and feel like I wasted my money
