Five Star Reviews:
April 28, 2017
This is a great peeler, it is very sharp and easy to use. Have used it for carrots and potatoes and both were great. The Jullienne is ok, it is a bit small, but we have used it and it works when we want a small garnish or maybe shredded carrots in a salad. Really happy with this.
We love it!
March 25, 2017
We are in awe of your product! It is a work of art. We love the way it peels! Our son wants one now, too. Thank you so much! The old peelers were hurting our hands. Yours makes it so easy to use.
Uber Chef Ultra Sharp Rocks
February 1, 2016
Just got this the other day and had a chance to try it out over the weekend. Impressed is an understatement. After years of using the cheap "disposable" peelers I wondered why I didnt get one of these years ago. The potatoes didnt stand a chance again this. IT IS ULTRA SHARP and literally shaves the skin off the spud. Have not tried the julienne side yet but if it is anything like the peeler side it will make fast work of it. We are looking forward to many, many years of use. Shipping was fast, packaging was sound and the company seems to genuinely care about the consumer and their satisfaction. Toss your old wore out peeler and get one of these. You wont regret it.
Another glowing review
September 29, 2015
I love this thing. We have one and bought another as a gift (and bought another as a backup for when ours gives out or gets lost or something). It's sharp, so for heaven's sake don't stick your fingers in there to clean out the bits of carrot or whatever; soak it right after using, or spray it out or use a wee brush or something. The peeler side makes little grooves the the thing being peeled, which I think is attractive, and increases surface area, which presumably enhances the stickability of yummy stuff. The julienne side is remarkable. It's so simple. We literally do not eat carrots any other way. They look so pretty in salad and taste better than carrots chopped (too chunky) or shredded (too small). And you can make lovely zucchini noodles too. Popular in today's gluten intolerant world. All that said, it's almost too inexpensive - I wish it were made in the US. We need more manufacturing jobs here, and I would pay more for this tool, if it were made here. Also, UberChef sends you a bunch of emails when you order. I felt like customer of the year. It was weird. They already have a zillion glowing reviews, but OK, I will contribute another.
Great for cutting soap, sharp even blade!
June 1, 2015
It's true what others say about this item being sharp. Be sure to wear a gardening glove or some similar thing when working with it. I think it's supposed to be for food, but I'm using it to shave my soap and make it even when it cuts crooked. It gives me a nice smooth bar, and is the easiest thing I've found by far to shape my soaps. Definitely worth checking it out!
Updated: Cutting head came loose
October 3, 2014
This item is heavy and seemed to be high quality. However, it didn't seem to peel or julienne any better than cheaper tools I have. For that reason I gave it three stars. However I had to return it because the julienne cutter head kept coming off. While it was easy enough to reinsert the little ears into the holes to remount the cutter it was a nuisance to have to do so.Update 10/7. After posting the above review I contacted Uberchef at their request. They asked me to keep the original peeler, promptly refunded my money, and sent me a replacement using 2 day shipping. This replacement peeler works as expected and I am very pleased. According to Uberchef a defective peeler may rarely get through - in which case they are dedicated to making things right. To be fair I did receive an email asking for contact if there's a problem (as does the little card in the box) and I probably should have taken them up on the offer instead of posting a review. But I will say this, Uberchef is very interested in customer satisfaction. And maybe it's a good thing that their swift corrective action made it into the reviews.
Best peelers on the market for the price
September 29, 2017
Best peelers on the market for the price. Let's be honest no one is ever going to take the time to replace the blade of their peeler when it isn't sharp anymore, might as well just replace them as needed, and the price point on these fits that. These are shaped strangely because they are meant to be held differently from the traditional peelers, and in holding these Y peelers properly you are afforded more dexterity, control and ultimately speed when using this device. I've peeled a ton of potatoes in my day, and Y peelers are most efficient for the task, same story for carrots. If you work in kitchens and peel things, put one of these in your knife bag! You wont regret it if you lose it, and you'll be glad you have it when you need it.
Sharp, Fast, Efficient
April 18, 2017
I bought these because they were recommended on a blog that I was following (can't remember which one). When I got them, I was pretty sure I didn't need three and I'd probably gift the extras to family members. However, they work so nicely and are always in use, so they will all be remaining in my utensil drawer!
Best peeler money can buy.
January 5, 2017
After having used one of these little peelers at a friend's house many years ago, she gave me two to take home. This has to be at least 20 years ago... One of the peelers was "borrowed" by one of my daughters when she left for college (not sure what happened to the other... the other daughter perhaps?). Anyway, it finally broke just before Christmas. She had been using it for over 10 years! She even messaged me a photo of her holding the "corpse"..... These three should last us another 30 years or so!!
great sharp peeler!
August 3, 2015
Great peeler. It is sharp and it works smoothly. So far no issues with rust but I will update this if there is any change. Nice colors. I like that it comes in a 3 pack since I'm always losing peelers! I also like that it is lightweight and easy to hold
An excellent deal on my favorite peeler
December 20, 2014
This has long been my favorite peeler for apples, potatoes, and the like. I find it to be much faster to use a harp-style peeler, making the strokes away from my hand and toward the sink rather than going round and round with one of those slow, traditional peelers. This particular model is my favorite heart style peeler because it fits into my hand so beautifully. This three pack deal was much cheaper per unit than buying these peelers individually at Williams Sonoma, as I used to do. Eventually, of course, the blade will become dull, and it will be time to move on to a new one. With this three pack, you can set aside two out of the three and use them in turn as you wear out the blades.
It lived up to the hype!
December 14, 2013
Based on recommendations from Cooks Illustrated I bought this even though I was very happy with the peeler I'd bought a couple years ago. I read the reviews here on Amazon also and thought surely this cheap looking little plastic thing could never be as good as what people were saying. Now I'm a pretty new cook so I freely admit I'm a very slow potato peeler. However, I was really surprised when I noticed that while using this peeler I was actually peeling potatoes about twice as fast as with my other peeler. I like it so much I will be ordering more of them and passing them out to others as gifts to make others prep time in the kitchen go faster. Buy this you will not regret it!
Four Star Reviews:
Great but not flawless
April 29, 2017
Pretty good. Not the best peeler or julienne peeler, but 90/100. Sometimes food gets stuck in the blades when julienning. As a pure peeler, Kuhn Rikon is better. On the other hand, I do like the stainless steel design and solid construction, which promises to last.
Seems Sturdy & a Quality Product
April 15, 2017
I received the product quickly. Was impressed with the weight of it. I was afraid it might feel light weight and cheaply made but that's not the case. Feels and looks to be of good quality.Honestly I haven't used it yet but I'm not anticipating any problem with it. If so I will return to my review for a change. If you don't hear from me again... all is good!Only disappointment... Although it was designed in USA It was .....MADE IN CHINA
Handy and easy to store.
April 2, 2017
Sure beats the mandolin slicer for small batches. I have used this for green papaya salad. Only wish the brush stored in the handle or someplace I will not misplace it.
Very effective peeler and julienne-er, leaves grooved texture on the things you peel.
January 11, 2017
Peels well and is very nicely sharpened. I've used this product a lot in food service, and it's always helpful to have the ability to quickly julienne some vegetables for a salad or other dish. For the Cons; It's not the most easy to clean, but the included brush is very helpful. Though I like how effective the product is at peeling, but I've never understood why the blade needed to be textured and almost serrated. It leaves a grooved texture on the things you peel which is not a big deal, but it stands out when you're used to a smooth service. If this peeler could be made just as effectively which a smooth finish it would easily get 5 stars from me.
But the peeling side is great! Sharp blade
October 24, 2016
4 stars because I have only used the julienne side once, so feel I cannot properly comment on it. But the peeling side is great! Sharp blade. You have to change your way of peeling - this is a peel away from you, rather than peel towards you kind of peeler. But easy to use once you get the hang of it. Little brush for cleaning is very useful. The one time I used the julienne side was on carrots for soup. It worked well, once I realised I needed to rotate the carrot as I was peeling it. All in all a good peeler which is much better quality than your standard peeler you buy at the grocer store.
Sharp but maybe too sharp!
June 15, 2015
The product is just as advertise. It was delivered in a timely manner. The supplier sent an email explaining the product with an attached video and recipes. I've sent it through the dishwasher several times now and it has held up in quality. It is very sharp...having said all that, the only negative thing I can really say is that it is too sharp. I constantly cut myself because of how it's designed. It can be awkward peeling or julienning vegetables. You can do it carefully but sometimes I want to peel my veggies fast. There isn't a safety guard to prevent from getting cut. I won't give it a lower rating because I should have known from the accurate description and pictures the supplier gave.
Great but watch out for rest
April 1, 2017
These peelers are exceptionally sharp, lightweight and all-around great – but know they rust immediately. No matter how quickly you dry the blade, they seem to rust. I think that might be why there is a three pack for sale! I would avoid the dishwasher.
March 18, 2017
I am surprised how well this works. At first I thought it was going to be too flimsy to work well as it is a light and appears to be a rather cheaply made item
Cheap enough to keep one in every suit pocket.
February 9, 2017
I grew up with peelers whose blades were inline with the handle, so it seemed counter intuitive to for the blade to be perpendicular or sideways, however this is perfectly comfortable and efficient. The one thing that's hard to get used to use that the blade is so efficient that it often leaves the peel in place, which you then must brush aside in order to get a subsequent cut. Also, these feel less substantial than the all metals ones I've been using for fifty years. But they do work and I haven't gone back to the old peeler.
Nice if it fits your hand, otherwise a bit awkward.
June 21, 2016
Very sharp to start with, and it feels natural in my hand. With this peeler I tend to prop vegetables to be peeled against the cutting board and cut down along them, which keeps the blade away from the meat of my palm. My wife doesn't like it as much, because it doesn't sit right in her slightly smaller hand and feels awkward. The bluing on the blade quickly wore away in the center of the blade where it is used most, and there the blade has begun to rust a bit, but that is the nature of steel peelers. It hasn't stayed as sharp as I would like, dulling a bit in only a month or two of moderate use. I don't believe there is an obvious and convenient way to sharpen this item.
Works well-short handle
March 22, 2016
Works like a charm. It would be nice if the handle was longer. I have large hands for a woman but I imagine that most me would find it hard to hold onto. The blade is sharp and doesn't cut too far into the surface. Pieces fall off and don't get stuck in the handle.
Great for the Price
May 5, 2015
I purchased this set because I bought one similar years ago and it lasted forever. I really like this type of peeler rather than the long version. These work really well but I would prefer all metal rather than the plastic handles. I like that the set has three so you should have them for a long time. The peelers work really well, I just would prefer that they be all metal. They do a pretty good job on potatoes and carrots which are pretty firm to peel.
Three Star Reviews:
March 5, 2017
Upon purchasing I didn't realize this peeler does not leave a smooth peel, it's a little jagged which may not really matter much but I guess I noticed since this is the first time I've owned a peeler that peeled with such a blade. I also was able to try out the julienne blade and was quite disappointed in how I couldn't comfortably julienne most of my carrot without wasting and risking cutting myself. Also the julienned veggies seem a tad too thin IMO. The concept is great but needs work.

October 11, 2016
The peeler side works really well. The shredder part is a bit awkward to use to get the last bit of vegetable with due to the size, so ended up wasting some vegetables or having to finish off with my old shredder and a knife. Also, the shredder side is very hard to clean even using the brush that came with the shredder. I used the thing on papaya and couldn't get the last bit of papaya stuck between the blades of the shredder side off.
Good, but could be better.
March 7, 2016
Got this peeler because our previous ones were either hard to use, dull, or broken. This one provides a peeler and a Julienne Peeler.Pros:- It's definitely sharp on the peeler. Definitely works great, and doesn't seem like it would break.Cons:- Still peels a pretty thick layer off. Wish it could be thinner-The julienne peeler doesn't work that great. veggies will get stuck on the peeler. So half the time you're spending clearing it.- Because it's got the Julienne peeler, it can hurt your hand. Be careful when you leave it dry on the dish rack.
January 30, 2016
This is a great, versatile peeler. I find the shape a bit awkward but it peels and juliennes beautifully. It is very, very sharp. You need to be exceptionally careful with it or there will be extra iron in your food from all the blood. I'm not kidding. I am not an exceptionally clumsy person but about half the time I use this I end up with an impressively deep cut. Latest injury happened just while putting it away. Bled through three bandaids before it stopped. And I KNOW to watch out for this thing. I won't store it loose in a drawer because I'm afraid of someone in my family reaching in a losing a digit. If you have kids unloading your dishwasher or helping out in the kitchen, I'd think twice about having this around. It's an excellent tool but buyers should know that safety was not the top design priority.
Strong, but wrong style for me
November 19, 2015
I wanted to rate it higher. It is sturdy. The blades are sharp. Unfortunately, I am afraid to use it. My hands can't get used to pushing or pulling the blades. Turns out I prefer the type peeler that has the blade pointed in the same direction as the handle. With this peeler you always wind up pulling the blades toward your fingers and when the vegetable is slippery it feels like you will peel your finger, or worse. If you are comfortable with this style, you should be happy with the product. I didn't know it before I bought it, but this style does not work as well for me.
Not entirely Happy with it
October 13, 2015
I had purchased a similar product a few years ago at Deals.I think it was five dollars, However after some use the handle came off and rather than buy liquid glue I purchased yours..I like it as good as the other except for one thing. I find it a little to big for a elderly persons hand. As we age we need a lot of gadgets to replace our once strong hands..Because of its size I am not sure I will ever be able to use it on carrots, apples, potatoes etc. I will keep it and try it on zucchini or other like larger vegetables. I am someone disappointed in the size...
Great peeler, blade rusts after just 1-2 uses
September 23, 2017
Peeler works great - best peeler I've used. Unfortunately, the blade was rusted before the 3rd use (handwashed, no dishwasher). Not sure if it's still safe to use with a rusty blade or if there is a way to remove the rust. Even at a low price, I can't afford to replace it every 2 uses.
Kuhn Rikon Original 4-Inch Swiss
June 27, 2017
Very narrow, maybe 2 inches. Guess it is for peeling tiny fruit. It is not 4 inches. My old peeler was 4 inches. I measured it.

March 23, 2017
Not as effortless as other peelers I tried but it saves more product than others. Also this one is very lightweightUpdate: the blade is not stainless steel. Had to replace the peeler because of the rust
The blade has been sharp and peels things wonderfully but its CRAZY how fast this tool has rusted
March 7, 2017
The blade has been sharp and peels things wonderfully but its CRAZY how fast this tool has rusted. :( We still use it whether we should or not. I was pretty disappointed, even with how inexpensive these were.
August 30, 2016
I'm trying to teach my kids some basic cooking skills, and we're doing much peeling and chopping. I've always used the classic peelers with the vertical blade, but read that this style might be easier for children to use. I chose this set for that reason ( plus it's a multipack so no squabbling over who's peeling and who's not). These work but feel very flimsy. I don't anticipate that they'll last more than a year. Still, a good practice set.
not as impressed as ATK was
January 27, 2015
to date Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen has yet to let me down when it comes to their equipment reviewsthis may be the firstfor starters, we ARE just talking about a 7 buck peeler so I won't be too harsh as it does do its jobthe good-it's sharp and peeled fastthe side hole works well at digging out stubborn potato eyesthe bad-I found the construction to be on a the cheap side, the plastic handle seems chincy to me and I question what the durability will be compared to other peelers I've had in the pastI find the motion of peeling towards yourself or to the side to be awkward in lieu of peeling away from you, I even ended up peeling off a part of my finger nail due to this. Perhaps it's something you need to be used to before you go peeling like a speed demon but I has a boo-boo and I am going to tell the world about it, darn it!so there you have it, I am bitter about losing an eighth of an inch of a finger nail, but peelers shouldn't be nail clippers
Two Star Reviews:
Neither Easy nor Safe to Clean
September 20, 2017
PROS: PERFORMANCE1) Creates beautiful julienne strips quickly and with little effort.2) Smoothly peels zucchini, carrot, squash, potato, and many other vegetables.CONS: DIFFICULT TO CLEAN1) The design makes it hard to clean one peeler head without having to hold the opposite head at an angle that allows you access to the bottom/inside of the first peeler (where food likes to collect) - holding the heads is dangerous (the julienne side has slightly protruding blades).2) Rusted with barely any use. The item quickly rusted around the peeler heads and where the Y assembly connects to the handle. I neither submerged the peeler, nor placed it in a dishwasher - only hand washed and dried.3) Item did not come with pictured brush cleaner. I only list this because of how hard it is to clean this thing - its worse without a brush.
Not a fan...
September 20, 2017
Not a fan, very cheaply made. Not the easiest to use.
Seemed like a great idea
April 18, 2017
Seemed like a great idea, but simple peeling is not simple anymore - the additional slicer above the peeler keeps getting in the way...
October 9, 2016
I was really hoping to love this because we had broken our old vegetable peeler and this is just so much fancier. But after three months of using it I have cut myself with it 2 times and my husband has cut himself a few times as well. We are again in the market for a vegetable peeler.

May 11, 2016
I bought this peeler just a little less than a year ago. It works great and i initially liked it and would have recommended it to anybody. But, the handle is hallow and a few months ago a long crack appeared from that spanned the entire handle length. I don't know if I was just gripping it too hard or what, but the crack is sharp to the touch to the point where it could probably cut me. Initially liked it but it's dangerous.
Broke on third or fourth use (over time)
April 12, 2016
This tool has been sitting in my kitchen drawer for a year, give or take. I used it a couple of times when I first bought it and then forgot about it until this afternoon. The outer razor weld on the julienne side broke halfway through my second zucchini. Approximately third usage, with the caveat it's been eleven-ish months since I used it last.Sad because other than that it works better than any of the other "spiralizer" type tools, the little I did use it - thus the two star rating. Would be four or five if it hadn't broken.
Two of the three blades fell out within 18 months.
September 12, 2017
These peelers are sharp and lightweight but with in the 1st year, the blade of one of them disappeared in the dishwasher. After 18 months, the blade of the second peeler disappear also. The plastic that secures the blade is just too flexible or not substantial enough to keep it in place.
Disappointed. Americas Test Kitchen "recommended" this unit
August 24, 2017
Disappointed. Americas Test Kitchen "recommended" this unit, so I bought two. They are light, sharp, and inexpensive. But, the blade rusted after one trip through the dishwasher, and, it peels in just one direction. I like to peel back and forth, like we learned in culinary school. I would not buy another one.
I recommend a different brand for sure
August 18, 2017
I bought these peelers because I have had a 'swiss' peeler for years (literally...years) that was very inexpensive and it finally broke. I wish I knew the original manufacturer because these definitely are not it. While they are sharp, they rust quickly, even with hand washing. I am already on the 3rd peeler in the pack and I bought them just 2 months ago! I recommend a different brand for sure!
Good reviews but I hated this
March 21, 2017
Good reviews but I hated this. Didn't work well and my husband ended up throwing this out after less than a week. Part of the problem is that my husband wasn't used to this type of peeler but it was still poor quility and not sharp enough.
Good peeler, rusted after one wash/dry dishwasher cycle.
June 1, 2015
I bought this set because America's Test Kitchen had tested peelers, and this set had come out on top. I was very impressed with the first use---they were easy to use and very sharp. Loved it! Then, after one wash/dry cycle in the dishwasher, the blades emerged rusted. If you're going to purchase these, I'd suggest only hand-washing and IMMEDIATELY drying them. Don't leave them wet for any period of time.
It did a great job of peeling a ripe pear
January 9, 2015
This puny plastic thing arrived in the mail. It is as sharp as a razor, so one must be careful not to bump one's knuckles as you use it. The handle design makes it almost impossible to use it with a motion away from you. It does peel well, but it is dangerous to use and The sharpness doesnt last. The design also prevents removing pits on the potato surface the way you would with the tip of a conventional peeler. It did a great job of peeling a ripe pear, but I caught my knuckles twice. I wouldnt buy it again. I am upset that COOKS ILLUSRATED promoted it. I will not longer rely on their reviews.

Bad design, hard to use.
OUCH! The worst :(
February 15, 2017
I hate this thing! I've had a lot of peelers and they all seem to work about the same. But this one, I keep getting cut on it. And not little cuts, either; the blade is serrated so it takes out a real chunk of skin each time. I have blamed myself for being clumsy, but tonight I looked at other reviews and saw that it's not just me having this problem. There is clearly a design problem here. I'm throwing this thing in the garbage before it chews up anymore of my fingertips and knuckles.Performance wise, it is slow to use and does not peel smoothly due to the serrations. It drags rather than slices. It's bulky and takes too much room in my drawer, and the handle is slick and not ergonomic. It is all-metal but it looks and feels cheap.
Dangerous and useless
July 12, 2016
I've used all other types of peeler and shredders, but my first time using this drew blood from my finger. It is extremely sharp and slow to use safely. The peeler would get clogged after a few peels of cucumber. After a week of daily use, I went back to the fixed blade style handheld peeler and wave style handheld shredder.
Did not come with brush. Not stainless as it ...
May 23, 2016
Did not come with brush. Not stainless as it rusted and julienne peeler blade half broke off. Purchased in August 2015...off to find another brand.
WAS GREAT AT FIRST /Great product and happy customer
February 9, 2016
Sharp, excellent tool. Myself and my 17 year old daughter keep looking for things to peel. Buy it we love it.UPDATE: After occasional use, and less use of the julieanne side, the guard on the julieanne side came unwelded. It all became unuseful because to reach in a drawer for it became dangerous.
I didn't do anything fancy with it - just washed it in the dishwasher and let it dry like I would any other peeler
September 19, 2017
This rusted about a month after I bought it. I didn't do anything fancy with it - just washed it in the dishwasher and let it dry like I would any other peeler. I think the metal may be low quality for it to rust so quickly.
The blade has rust after using it for 1.5 months
September 15, 2017
I bought this peeler in late July. It works just fine but after a couple of use, there was a watermark on it. I usually use it at least five times a week and I rinse the peeler and let it air dry. It has been until yesterday. I do not know what happened but a couple of hours after washing, the blade part was cover with rust. There are ways to get rid of it but I am just too lazy to deal with it so to the trash can it is.

I purchased these based on reviews. I need to remind myself that not all reviews are written by actual persons that bought the product. As a graduate of culinary school and lifelong hospitality worker, I sadly must say these peelers are "awful" the blade(s) continually break free and they stop functioning after about 90 days of use.

Too small and dinky. My husband wouldn't even peel potatoes for me with this. returned. refund was quick.
