I use this for body, hair, laundry, and household cleaning. Great stuff for anyone with chemical sensitivities. Personally, I am all good with lavender. They have other scents and even unscented so you can, hopefully find some that works for you. I keep the lavender in the bathroom and use peppermint in the kitchen.

Where have you been all my life?? I'm kicking myself now because I have resisted buying this soap for years. Why? Because of the price. $58 for a gallon? All I could see is that a gallon of liquid soap at Sam's club was around $12? Yes, it's full of chemicals and bad stuff......but can I afford to pay 5x the price of regular soap for less chemicals in my life? Sure, Dr. Bonner's is probably more concentrated and will last longer, but 5x longer?Well, I finally did it and now I can't believe how ridiculous I've been. This stuff is AMAZING. And I'm sure a gallon is going to last forever. One thing I did was to get all foaming soap dispensers for every sink in the house. (They have nice quality glass ones now that look beautiful.) So now I just have to fill them about 1/6 of the way with soap and the rest of the way with water and have this amazing foam that works beautifully.I like a LOT of suds, whether I'm washing my hands or dishes or whatever. I don't feel like things are getting clean unless I see and feel and lot of suds!! This foams up so beautifully and even though it's mixed with so much water I've been amazed to find that as I rub my hands the foam continues to lather even more.The next thing I noticed was how hydrated my skin is now. I wash my hands probably 20x a day. Usually, this is the time of year my hands start getting dry & I've even had those horrible painful cracks around my fingernails. Before I had to use tons of lotion all day and if I didn't use it frequently & consistently, the splits would start. This soap leaves my skin so soft it feels like I used lotion. I was really surprised about that. I thought it would be a lot harsher for some reason.I've also made a body wash & face wash from this soap, which I'm working on tweaking just a little to make just right. Eventually, I will work on using it for dishes & other cleaners.I have found this soap is just a little nicer with a very small amount of oil added to it. I used it for a week or so without adding oil & it was still great.....just seems to be a small improvement for me with the oil. I've added fractionated coconut oil and almond oil, but I'll probably stick to a cheaper EVOO for the regular hand soap and save the more expensive oils for other stuff.So in my foaming dispensers I put 1/6 Dr. Bonner's, a tablespoon of oil and whatever essential oils I want & then fill with water. The result is not only a great soap, but it lasts for so long....used this for a week and the dispensers at my kitchen and bathroom sink have only gone down in level of about 1/2 inch. At this rate, a dispenser full could easy last longer than a month, maybe closer to two. At that rate, yes, this will last 5x longer than regular hand soap....maybe even longer!Of course, I don't have to tell people that you can add your essential oils to this. I have loved finding more ways to get more essential oils in & this is a very easy way.I'm sold for life!!

I use this for everything! So far, I've made Hand Soap, Laundry Soap, Dish Detergent, Dish Soap, Shampoo/Conditioner, I'll probably end up making Face Wash with it once I run out of my current stuff. I love the slickness of the soap and how clean I feel afterwards. I think next time I'll buy Unscented as I don't feel the Lavender comes through a lot and I'd like to add my own Essential Oils anyway.

I love this soap! I have had allergic responses to lavender (blends with other products) in the past and was a little hesitant to buy this but it has worked well so far. I use it as a facewash primarily as it has few ingredients and I really like that. I'm going to try to mix it with water to dilute it for hand soap next. The price is fine overall but not much of a savings buying it on Amazon; it was about 10 cents more at Target when I looked.

I have been trying to find an inexpensive cleanser that is also free of chemicals and dyes and this is the perfect thing! I normally buy Lush products but it became too expensive and costly for me to do so. This is perfect, it lathers with very little on a shower poof and is a great face wash as well! My fiance actually uses it as a shampoo too and he loves it! It smells amazing and has lasted me a long time, I ordered this months ago and still have half a bottle left. Would definitely recommend this product! I know it can also be used for tons of other things but I love it as a body wash.

We absolutely love and swear by Dr. Bronner's soap! You only need a drop (it goes a long way) and it is the best for everything. I have also found that it is THE only sure fire soap to get baby poop, which stains horribly, right out of clothing with some warm water and scrubbing it together. We have a giant bottle at home and we keep a small bottle with us at all times in the diaperbag for anyone from hand washing, impromptu cleaning, etc.

So far I like this soap! It cleans a little better than I originally thought, just wish it wasn't so expensive! I have used it in several diy recipes, but doubled it in laundry detergent as I felt it wasn't quite enough.

So far so good, smells nice, cleans adequately, however the pour spout sucks...not sure what do do about that

I really like the scent of this product since I am a fan of anything lavender. After reading many other reviews I decided to check out Trader Joe's and Wholefoods. Found it at both stores for $11.99 for the 32 ounce bottle. Hmmm...I haven't used it for all the ways others mention, but expect I will experiment sometime. A 32 ounce bottle lasts me a very long time.

I started using this stuff for aftercare on a piercing and quickly became addicted to it. I use it in the shower for body and hair, then use the Dr. Bronner's conditioning cream after washing my hair. It smells great and gets you nice and clean without stripping hair and body of moisture.

I love this soap - you only need a little bit for it to do its job, and it smells wonderful, too. My only complaint is with the packaging of this item. Amazon simply threw it into a box. The top of the bottle came loose and the soap was starting to spill out down the side of the bottle and into the box. The top really needs to be protected with tape or something so it doesn't come loose in transit.

This soap is fantastic! It's so great for making shampoo and hand soap and homemade cleaning products! The only issue i have with this product is the bottle seal and cap in shipping. I've bought it several times from different vendors and it always arrives leaking and in a wrecked box. While I understand that USPS plays a huge role, the bottle isn't very well sealed (even with packing tape around the neck...haha). At $50 a pop, I'd kind of like to be able to use every drop.

Love this. It's the best. I've bought it before and all went well. Today I received it and cap was broken completely. It wasn't secured or in a bag like it normally is. Thank God it didn't spill 100% but now I have to find a bottle to transfer it to, Quite annoying!

This specific bottle didn't smell like the ones we've used in the past. It still has a lavender scent, but just smells a bit "off" compared to the bottle we bought from a store. We normally LOVE this soap and scent, but may return it and just buy it from a local store to make sure it doesn't smell funky.

Lovely suds, but too watery to use with my net scrubby, it goes straight through, so I have to use more than I would otherwise have to use. My shower floor gets very slippery.

I use this product to spray my plants against bugs. I did used to wash my face and gat into my eyes producing the greatest pain ever. Had to wash my eyes with fresh water for about 15 minutes to reduce the irritation, but my eyes where red for a long time. So be carefull!

i don't know. haven't spent too much time working with it. i have been accustomed to traditional soaps (lots of bubbles, smells, etc..) so it is not a very good comparison. now like seventh generation, i don't feel it cleans clothes all that well. i am going to scrub a bit and see what happens. i will update.

If you've never used Bronner's soap before, all I can tell you is that they're all great. Go google the documentary about the man. It's quite interesting. Now, if you HAVE used their soap before I must tell you that this particular bottle seemed far less potent than those I've normally bought at my local super market. No idea why. The lavender is simply not quite as strong smelling. Odd, but true.

Not great for body soap - makes me very itchy

Everyone says that this is the best scent but I can't stand the smell of it once it gets wet (no longer smells like Lavender). Get the peppermint.This stuff is concentrated though, less is more! Definitely unfortunate for me as I have this whole bottle to get through now.

I honestly don't get why this soap has so much fans. I guess it does work, but so does every other soap you can get from anywhere. I couldn't find what is superior about this guy compared to others. Also, it doesn't have a pleasant smell.

Feels like you have a film left on your skin afterwards...have tried a few other scents and they all leave the same film after. LOVE the scent of the lavender but won't buy any again.

For some reason, this Dr. Bonner's soap smells nothing like the Dr. Bonner's soap I buy at the store. So unfortunately, this is a purchase I will not make again online.

Definitely watered down. Buyer beware - order directly from Dr. Bronner's instead.

I had never purchased this product until I recently bought it on Amazon, so I wasn't able to compare it to a previously purchased bottle as did some reviewers, who felt it had been watered down. I did find it very watery and, therefore, sloppy and wasteful to use for washing my hands. What I mostly dislike is that using it for hand washing, which is all I used it for, left my hands and wrists horribly dried out and resulted in cracks in my skin. There was absolutely nothing to like about this product and I intend to never purchase it again.

The lavender scent is disgusting.

I read all the reviews and even waited to buy this. Do not use in hair as one girl posted, it will ruin your scalp. I am using it as handsoap now, but it leaves a very disgusting soap scum in the sinks, even had to scrub the drain in the bathroom it was getting clogged from this...All other junk and mold sticks to this, it will clog your drains. I have not noticed that it can clean anything whatsoever. It smells very nice though. It is also more like water in thickness than soap, so it squirts everywhere.

This smelled nothing like my previous bottle of dr. Bronners lavendar. It smelled so strong like some sort of vegetable oil. It was so gross I had to throw it out. There was no settling of the coconut oil in the bottom of the bottle. I contacted amazon and they requested a refund for me and I received it within a day.
