Great stuff
March 10, 2017
I use in smoothies. Love the fact that I get so much complete protein without a lot of calories and sugar. I purchashed it for that reason and the fact hat it has probiotics and digestive enzymes. Can't ask for more. Some say they find the taste gritty but since I put it in smoothies and blend I cannot speak to that. Last night I made one with almond milk and frozen pineapple. It was delicious.
Great protein powder
January 28, 2017
Like the taste very much..Not grainy at all. But the tub is way too big..I need a smaller container for my cubbard to be able to put along with the rest of my morning powders. I love the quality of the powder, it is very smooth and has no taste whatsoever. Why are people so mad... Is it bc the product changed or the tub?!? Either way I think it's great. Thanks for making this product plain.. I add a lot of other superfoods to mine.
WOW, this tastes AMAZING, I only added water!
July 9, 2016
I've bought so very many items from Amazon yet this is my first review. The reason for this is because this protein shake (this new and improved version) tastes so AMAZING it's like having an ice cream vanilla shake. It's not gritty at all, the after taste is very pleasant and of course as always the non-gmo vegan and super healthy ingredients are present. I've had this shake in both vanilla and chocolate for more than a year now but not this new and improved version. I drink/eat whatever not minding the taste as long as it's healthy but this was a REAL surprise! I found myself uncontrollably drinking it very slowly just to enjoy the taste, that's how good it is. Next time I'm using cold water instead of room tempeture to enjoy it even more. Yes, I only added water and even stirring it was easier and it doesn't create a powder cloud since it seems a heavier and thicker powder than the previous version. It's also way thicker without being gritty at all.
PERFECT NUTRITION and chocolate delicious!

I use in shake 2 x daily. Im diabetic and have severe digestion issues. This product has lowered my sugar from 450 to 105. I no longer need insulin. And it digests perfectly! The chocolate flavor is delicious! My shake consists of 1/2 c water, 1/4 c frozen blueberries, 3 frozen organic strawberries, 3 oz plain nonfat Greek yogurt, Perfect Food Greens chocolate powder, Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein powder, Max B supplement and Bio D imulsion Forte supplement, 2 packets of Stevia and blend. Perfect nutrition and delicious shake.Shake calories 213, PROTEIN 28, carbs minus fiber 15.5g, sugar 11. So nutritious you could live on just the shakes! My body responds immediately with energy and bright mind.
The Good, The Bad and The Gritty
July 17, 2015
Wow, is this stuff gritty. Real gritty. It's strange, because when it's dry, it feels like cornstarch between your fingers. The taste isn't so bad that I can't get it down. I use only about a half of a cup of water to mix with it. That way, I can gulp it down in a couple of swallows. I'm sure it would be a lot better mixed into milk. Let's be honest. No one buys this type of stuff because they like the taste. On the positive side, there's lots of fiber. Nothing further needs to be written about that. :) And let's not forget that protein. This stuff switches off hunger like a switch. I woke up starving. One scoop and I felt full, like I ate a big meal, for about half of an hour. After the fullness, I didn't feel any hunger for another two and a half hours. Another scoop at lunch and I was good to go until my grilled chicken salad dinner. Nope, I'm not vegan. I just prefer not to ingest large doses of whey. Whey is known to cause cancer in rats. I'm not a rat (I swear), but why take the chance?Update (07-30-2015):Great news. I've ordered the Vanilla and I LOVE it. I mix one scoop into 1/2 cup of fat free organic milk from pasture raised cows (the milk raises the protein to 21g from 17g). This stuff is actually good. I sip it like a fine wine. If you are a vanilla lover like me, try the vanilla before you try the chocolate. I will say that it's just a tiny bit too sweet.
Great stuff. Add the super greens to the mix!
October 30, 2014
EDIT: They recently changed this product to make it "smoother" and with more protein (22g instead of 17g). However, the container is now much larger/taller (no longer fits on my shelf) and there are only 20 servings per container instead of 28, making this product much more costly. The scoop is also twice as big as before. So basically you are just using more product to get your extra protein. I plan on just using half a scoop now. Hopefully the "new and improved" product is actually still a good product. I've only had one shake of the new stuff so far.~~~~~~~I LOVE THIS STUFF. I actually really like all of the flavors, and I add a scoop of the energy greens to the mix as well. Here's the shake I have EVERY morning - I even pack it when I travel:1 banana + ice (or use frozen bananas)unsweetened almond milk (I like silk)a spoonful of peanut or almond butter (optional)a scoop of their protein powdera scoop of their super greens (I like the alkaline mix, but they are all good)Blend together (Magic Bullet is the best!) and YUM. It will keep you going until lunch :)

I recently decided to switch from whey to a plant base protein and after comparing a few brands nutritional breakdown and taste reviews I came across plantfusion and I ordered my first tub and I have to say that I am HOOKED! I ordered the cookies and cream flavor but i am looking forward to trying the order flavors as well. Thank You plantfusion.

this is the best there is
August 8, 2016
If you are looking for a protein drink, quick breakfast, mid-day snack, or even dessert, this is the best there is! I have enjoyed Plant Fusion for several years after tossing out other protein drinks because of their grainy texture, disgusting taste or consistency. This is the best protein mix on the market! I often enjoy the vanilla flavored mix using Coconut Almond milk and adding mashed bananas, chia seeds, oat bran and shaved coconut when using as a breakfast before a morning of yard work or other exercise; but find that without the additions, it is yummy and will keep me satisfied for several hours before getting hungry. I have even frozen it slightly to a slushy form, again with the Coconut Almond milk, and enjoyed it as a shake in the evening as dessert topped with coconut shavings after a light supper. I've share this delicious drink with others and everyone agrees that it is just to good to be so healthy! Thanks!
Surprised at how GREAT the flavor is!!! 8-)

After using this for a week I have noticed so many changes in my cravings and picking habits...8-) I am EXTREMELY happy with PlantFusion and the results from drinking it twice a day at 3/4 of a scoop each time.I had to play with the amount of water I added though...The consistency was a bit to watery for me adding the recommended amount of water. I found the perfect mix for me is 3/4 of a scoop with 6 oz. of water...I do find myself drinking more water throughout the day!!! I tried mixing with my magic bullet and that added way to many air bubbles it ended up foamy. I am happy with just mixing it with my mixing wand...8-)I used to get cravings and would pick at work. I find myself not even desiring to do so...I work in a deli and have struggled with what I thought was self control over picking to check and make sure things are still fresh. Not anymore, I just don't have the desire...I ask others to check freshness for me. PlantFusion has changed my way of viewing food and what goes in my mouth...I will be regularly purchasing PlantFusion to continue a healthier way of nourishing my body without doing any further damage...8-)I could not ask for a healthier more satisfying way to consume protein...8-)
Need the protein and hate cooking breakfast. So good!
February 1, 2016
Realizing I needed more protein (plant-based woman). How many beans can I consume in a day? Also, I do not like cooking breakfast. I bought whey isolate protein powder. Well, guess what? Plant-based eaters don't consume dairy. Whey is used in cheese. I bought the isolate because I'm lactose intolerant; didn't figure out the whey until I looked it up on the Internet. Sooo happy when I went online searching for organic plant-based powder. I love it with almond milk and 5 or 6 frozen organic strawberries.
I would buy it again...
September 5, 2015
As protein powders go, the stats on this are excellent (as far as I'm concerned). It's low in fat, very low in carbs. Taste is not 5 star by any means, but I think that's true for most protein powders. A friend and were joking recently that it's really just having one that you drink enough to tolerate and get used to. This one is a little sweet and you can definitely taste the plants, but solubility is top notch and it actually emulsifies pretty well with a shaker bottle and agitator so that its thick without blending it up into a smoothie with other ingredients.

Great Taste
March 16, 2017
I REALLY like the taste of this powder and the benefits it provides. What I don't like is the caking. I mix with almond milk. The powder is so fine that it doesn't dissolve well. I've tried warming the almond milk, but this doesn't help. I use a small wire wisk or my blender but still find little chunks here and there. I have to use a funnel or else I get "powder poof"
so it could easily be a smaller size
September 18, 2016
This product arrived with no surprises, I received exactly what I thought I was buying. The container is really big and only filled about 2/3 of the way with powder, so it could easily be a smaller size. It's so big that it doesn't fit in my cupboard, I have to keep it on the counter which is not ideal. The taste is pretty good, not great. There's a slight chalking texture, too. The directions say to blend one scoop (included) with 10 oz of water or almond milk. I tried with water and ice and it tasted terrible. I added a banana and the flavor and texture was a lot better. If you're looking for a product thats clean and you can mix with fruit, this is a good product at a good price. If you're looking for something to just mix with water alone, I would not recommend this product.
Concerned about new packaging
July 31, 2016
The reason for this review is the new packaging.

The new packaging says "new and improved with 30% more protein". But when I compared the nutrition information with the old packaging, this is what I saw:

Old packaging \ new packaging
Total weight: 622 g \ 568 g
Protein per serving: 17g \ 22g
Serving size 1 scoop: 22g \ 28g
Serving size per container: 28 \ 20
Price: $28.21 \ $31.68 (Jan 2016 \ July 2016)

I am giving 4 stars because I don't have any complaints about the powder quality. But trust is an extremely important factor for something that goes into my body. The claims in the new packaging makes me question that. The new bottle is taller than the older one, but it is only half full. Scoop is bigger as well. New packaging has less powder for higher price. New one has some extra ingredients though.

Ingredients (Old):
a. Organic raw sprout blend:
Organic sprouted brown rice protein, organic amaranth sprout, organic quinoa sprout, organic millet sprout, organic buckwheat sprout, organic garbanzo bean sprout, organic lentil sprout, organic adzuki bean sprout, organic flax seed sprout, organic sun flower seed sprout, organic pumpkin seed sprout, organic chia seed sprout, organic sesame seed sprout

b. Raw probiotic & enzyme blend:
High protein chlorella, proteases, bacillus subtilis

c. Mixed tocopherols:
Alpha-tocotrienol, beta-tocotrienol, gamma-tocotrienol, delta-tocotrienol, beta-tocopherol, gamma-tocopherol

Ingredients (New):
a. Organic raw sprout blend:
Same as old + organic pea protein, organic cracked wall chlorella, organic guar gum, organic carob bean gum

b. Raw probiotic & enzyme blend:
Lipase, aspergillopepsin, beta-glucanase, cellulase, bromelain, phytase, lactase, papain, peptidase, pectinase, hemicellulase, xylanase, lactobasyllus acidophilus, lactobasyllus plantarum, lactobasyllus bulgaricus
Ignore news about heavy metals.
February 11, 2015
There are heavy metals in everything we eat, because they are present in the world we live in, and plants absorb them in small quantities. It's a fact of life for living on earth. Garden of life is not adding mercury to their product, it's naturally in the plants they source the protein from, the same as tuna tends to be high in mercury. As far as mercury and most heavy metals go, you can find more specific information if you are really troubled by them, but you have to understand that our bodies are outfitted to live on this planet that is full of heavy metals. We have systems in our body to chelate and remove things that are not used by the body. There is generally a set rate our bodies can shed heavy metals at, so your health is only at risk if you consume enough heavy metals that your body cannot keep up with the process of removing them and they build up to unsafe levels over time. Garden of life products shouldn't contain any more of those metals than if you just ate the raw rice, peas, and beans yourself.

I feel it is a quality product for nutrition, but the taste and texture.....is horrendous. This coming from someone who can easily eat any veggies raw, not dunked in ranch. This stuff is gritty and the chai flavor is mediocre at best. Combined with other sources of texture and flavor though, it's not bad. Just ice and almond milk would probably do the trick for most.

For anyone who doesn't know, proteins isn't just protein. There are many proteins used by plants and animals, and proteins are made up of different amino acids. When you eat protein, your body doesn't just take those proteins and stick them together to build stuff like little legos. Enzymes in your digestive tract break the proteins down into their base amino acids. Those are carried through your blood stream, and our body makes it's own proteins from them. The amino acids that humans need are not necessarily the same that you would get from proteins found in say rice for instance. Especially the appropriate ratio of those amino acids that humans need. If you get just a rice protein powder, it is highly ineffective for human nutrition. Garden of life gets around this by blending proteins from multiple plants together that does provide the proper blend of amino acids for your body. Even if you buy another brand, make sure it is not just pea protein, or just rice protein, it needs to be an appropriate blend of amino acids to be useful to your body.
Don't Pay Attention to the WARNING Reviews
February 15, 2014
I've been drinking the Raw Protein shakes on almost a daily basis for sometime now--they're a great way to get a substantial amount of protein to start the day or after a work-out. So I was surprised to see these WARNING reviews here on Amazon about toxic levels of heavy metals that are supposed to be found in Raw Protein. Well, before you turn your back on this really good product, do some quick research. Following is Garden of Life's response to these hysterical allegations. Folks, you're getting no more lead or cadmium in a glass of Raw Protein than you would by eating a helping of spinach or an avocado.

Garden of Life Response[...]

I only rated it four stars because, let's face it, it's not the greatest tasting shake you'll ever drink. But it's not bad at all for a protein drink. So disregard the hysterical WARNING reviews and ENJOY.

Whoa is this sweet!
July 24, 2017
Good value, but wow is it super sweet! For two smoothies I use 1-1/2 scoops pea protein + 1/2 scoop of PlantFusion because it's just too sweet for me, but my husband likes his sweeter. It's a really fine, dusty powder that blends well, has a good amount of protein and is free of everything I can't eat. It should last us a very long time at this rate and, even though it is so super sweet, I'd probably buy it again to sweeten green smoothies a little bit.
It's a little sweet for my preference
November 14, 2016
It's a little sweet for my preference, but I find it does a great job of filling me up, and providing me enough protein to feel satisfied. I like to add it to milk with a little bit of cinnamon. I will definitely order this again.
Pretty good vegan protein powder!
September 16, 2015
I've been buying this protein powder from a health-food store near my house for about 20 dollars more than the online price for a while now. I'm very glad to know I can get it online for much cheaper! I will say that the powder is a little gritty, and separates if you just use water and blend in a shaker-cup. I however use a blender and will add banana, peanut butter, and/or almond milk, and this helps greatly with the separation and the texture. I enjoy the taste and find it very convenient to take along with my exercise schedule. Good stuff!
Unflavored has stevia and I hate stevia. good powder though.
December 5, 2014
I ordered the unflavored onepros: I really like the way that it doesn't sit so heavy in your stomach like other powders can. I felt like I could be comfortable with walking around after this shake, rather than feeling lethargic. It does a great job of stating what amino acids are present in it.Cons:It said that it was unflavored, but when I received the package I noticed that it has a small print above that description which said "lightly sweetened." I like to mix my shakes with fruit, peanut butter or other flavors, so I prefer a powder with no flavor so it doesn't work against what I add. STEVIA. This powder uses stevia as a sweetener, so if you don't like that weird after taste from stevia, don't get this. You can not easily cover up the flavor either. Stevia, and other zero-calorie sweeteners aren't too good for you. It is natural, but our bodies aren't meant to handle it. Having a bit is probably fine, but this is in a daily powder, so I don't recommend.I would totally get this all the time if it was ACTUALLY UNFLAVORED.
good protein
July 10, 2014
I really like that this protein mixes well in my blender bottle with just water. I have also used it in my blender. It taste good and gives me the protein I need to accomplish my fitness goals. I was at first concerned about the fructose but read that it is naturally occurring before I made my purchase. It isn't the only vegan protein I use because I can get bored with the same thing to easily. But this is one that I plan on keeping. Ive also tried the natural flavor and would prefer it because it is less carbs. It is good too and I will use it when making fruit smoothies but right now I am on a nutrition plan that I only add water to keep my carbs to a minimum. So the vanilla is the best tasting for that purpose.

After looking at many Powdered Protein Drinks I decided to get PlantFusion Diet Suplement Natural Unflavored, I watched the Doctor Oz Show on Plant Protein Powders and since I don't eat any Red Meat, it would be a good thing to take. The protein powder itself is great. The packaging
January 6, 2017
The protein powder itself is great. The packaging... not so much. It is a rare and beautiful day when I can get a scoop of protein powder out of the oversized tub without having powder on my knuckles and/or my kitchen counter and floor. Why does the tub need to be so big? An unopened tub only takes up about 1/3 of the space. And, why is the handle in the middle of the scooper? And, why is the scooper always buried in protein powder when you open it up? The new and improved packaging is neither new nor improved.
Bring back the old recipe and smaller container, this one is not as good!
November 17, 2016
Bigger is NOT always better! When I opened this new larger sized container I was very disappointed it's only 1/3 full (and I've gotten at least 5 times now). What an environmentally wasteful container - You don't have to match the muscle protein size container! I've been using this for years and each container was good for my daily shake for a month. This new container does not last the entire month; so bigger container, less servings than before. Also, they changed the recipe and now the taste is not as good as before which is a BIG disappointment.
I agree with other posts that it now has that same metal/man-made flavor as some other products and is not significantly better, like it was before. I'm looking for a replacement for my monthly subscribe and save. I don't mind paying more for something that tastes better... now this is just like many others.
Formula change is so-so
September 28, 2016
Hmm, they've made changes to the formula which alters the taste a bit. The scooper is larger and I have found that it's too much of a taste change with that amount of powder. So I swapped to a smaller scooper (from my last canister of the powder) and that's fixed the change it taste a little bit - which means I'm probably only getting 19 g protein instead of 22g with the included scooper.
I'll keep using it, maybe I'll grow to like the taste change more. It's not terrible, but enough that it's noticeable and I seems like the older taste better.

August 20, 2015
Pros: Keeps me fuller longer / Stays off hunger
Cons: Extremely gritty texture... looking forward to consuming; will not purchase again because of the texture - Raw Meal instead!

I was previously using Muscle Milk (absolutely loved the flavor) for a morning shake to try and get a reasonable start to my morning, but as my wife has started investigating labels for the rest of the food we are eating, I decided to ditch MM due to all the fillers and chemicals included - additionally I would have my morning shake around 5:30am and by 9:30am I was NEEDING a snack. I switched to the Raw Protein in order to get away from the fillers and in hopes of providing a more filling "meal replacement" to start my morning. Overall as a meal replacement it has kept me from needing to snack between meals, but I must admit, while the flavor of this is somewhat neutral, the texture is extremely gritty. I have bought some of the Raw Meal (also Garden of Life) and I enjoy it much more... the chocolate and the vanilla spiced chai are my two favorite flavors!
Chalk sticks and almond milk blended
July 5, 2015
Geez. I really wanted to love this product because it's organic. I've been drinking shakes for a few years.. Some of the more known brands that cost and arm and a leg. And I think I'm spoiled. But seriously this is not chocolate at all. And it's like mixing almond milk and chalk sticks in a blender. With fruits and PB the tastes isn't bad at all it's just the consistency. Use a straw don't drink straight out of a glass. I'm gonna give this shake one week to see if I benefit from it like I have others.

To sweet for me
May 26, 2017
To sweet for me! I got the vanilla. Wish they would cut back on the sucrose or stevia. I use vanilla almond milk guess I will try it in unflavored almond milk and see if that helps.
Unflavored has stevia in it.
March 18, 2017
This protien powder is very powdery and spews powder into the air every time I open the lid. The taste is fine and mixes well in the blender. But I cannot understand why they added stevia to the unflavored formula. The whole point of unflavored is that there is no need for sweeteners.
I wanted to really give it a chance, but..
August 10, 2016
Okay, So I really tried to give this protein powder a chance. I will start off by saying, I really like the fact it doesn't have artificial sweetener's in it. It is sweetened with Stevia which is what I normally gravitate to. But unfortunately, I have not found much that I can mix with this powder to make it bearable. I have tried putting PB2 peanut butter in with milk and a scoop (chocolate and peanut butter, how could you go wrong right?). Unfortunately, the texture is still super gritty. I have also tried just water and ice, still too gritty and not tasty. Anyways, if you are not a veteran to protein powder's; I would say to steer clear of this one because of the texture and inability to find anything to mix with it to make its taste tolerable.
Chemical Taste
July 17, 2016
I have tried many vegan protein powders, primarily as part of my smoothie but occasionally just mixed with almond milk. My biggest issue with this one is its chemical taste. I don't know what it is that's causing it, but it is not good. With a smoothie, the first few sips are always unpleasant - after that it is tolerable, but maybe because my mouth is cold and frozen? There is no way I would try this just in milk - the other flavors of the smoothie are one of the only reasons I can choke it down. The only plus that this has over other powders I have tried is that it is finely ground. Yes, this means that it gets all over (think what happens when you pour kool-aid into an empty pitcher) but it mixes well and I never have powder residue left on the sides of my blender. If I could tolerate the taste in plain milk I'm sure that it would mix in better than any other powder I've tried.
because my kids take it too and they don't like the taste of protein
February 13, 2016
I'm always suspect about protein taste..esp. because my kids take it too and they don't like the taste of protein. This one is a plant protein. It is way too sugary..but it taste artificially sweet. It says it has fructose, but it is so sweet. I try to cut it by adding only 1/2 scoop but then I ended up being so hungry after.. The lid is also hard to open and closed.. I don't know why.. It took me couple days to finally open it when it arrived. But maybe it's because my hands are small, and this thing is huge. The benefit outweighs the taste and the cumbersome of the box though, so we'll keep chugging it and see how we like it when we finish it. I put in banana, unsweetened almond milk, peaches, 1 scoop of the plant fusion, and spinach or kale. Today I also added avocados. Maybe next time I'll take out the bananas and see if I can offset the sweetness.
Meh
January 30, 2015
My personal trainer (who is the ultimate hippie and extremist in nutrition) recommended this shake mix since it is plant-based and free of all the preservatives and anti-caking ingredients that plague the marketplace. Understanding his reasoning, I purchased this as a meal replacement. It tastes fantastic and is easy to digest, however it is not as thick and filling as many of its competitors, so it does not constitute a meal replacement. Otherwise, it was great. It just wasn't meant for me.

Chunky and chalky
August 7, 2017
I'll start with what I like about this protein powder. I like that it is plant-based and clean. And unfortunately that is where I stop. Maybe I should have gotten an unflavored one but I like vanilla so I went with the flavored option. The taste of this powder makes me cringe. I've tried adding it to almond milk but it's clumpy and chalky and I had trouble getting it down. I tried adding it to smoothies but I had to put in so much agave to mask the taste that it ruined the healthy aspect of my smoothie.
It advertises that it blends with no chunks and no yucky aftertaste but that is just not true. I don't think I can even finish the canister.
Exactly as advertised but gross tasting
May 24, 2017
I use several other Garden of Life products and wanted to try their protein powder as well. Added it to a strawberry banana smoothie, as I do every morning with other brand vanilla protein powder. The taste from this one was awful. Not to mention the consistency is so thick it makes your smoothies into a goop.
Organic, Vegan, Dairy free, etc ......but too much clumps.
February 13, 2017
Had a good feeling from buying this since it's organic, vegan, dairy free, etc. It seemed like the best plant protein out there since it was also raw and the ingredients didn't have sweeteners, monk fruit extract, and much bad ingredients. I bought it hoping it was good because of the very good advertisement.
So today I wanted to try it. I opened the bottle and there you go. There were so many small clumps in it which made me start to doubt the quality. I took 2 scoops and mixed it with almond milk. The taste was not as I expected. It wasn't really chocolate. It had a different taste. But I guess since there's 0 grams of sugar the taste is like that. I mixed it like 30 seconds with my blender bottle with the blender ball inside(or like 40 seconds). Took a sip and the taste was not smooth. I tasted the powdery mix still inside. It wasn't mixed well like a shake. So I shook it more and drank more. Again, not smooth and MANY clumps. I had to bite them while in my mouth. After like 10 minutes I finished the protein shake reluctantly.
Overall, I love that it is RAW, Vegan, Gluten free, Dairy free, Non-GMO, organic, etc. This product's advertisement really got me to buy this powder. But after drinking it, I found it had a chalky taste with lumps of powder not dissolved well. I don't know why it has lumps. Maybe because it is raw, maybe it is my bottle that was bad, or maybe this protein is like that.
I will definitely try other brands like Vega Sport Performance protein, MRM plant protein, Sunwarrior, or Plantfusion. Hopefully they will yield better results.
PS. I choose plant protein over whey protein because it is made of milk. From my research, milk is bad for you, so that's why I choose plant protein.
Down the tubes lately
November 27, 2016
Seems like a lot of bad feedback & not a lot of caring from Corporate.
The last tub I got, looked like curds & whey when I added water. It was horrible & wouldnt mix.
Too many companies making quality AND tasty options to continue my subscription with this stuff. I really used to like the mild taste & low sodium aspect but now its unusable.
UPDATE: I was advised by Garden of Life to contact them via a provided email. I did that, and they never responded. Thats just fantastic customer service and support!
Plain
September 22, 2015
The quality is good, but the taste and texture was almost gag worthy. I could choke it down... Kind of. I have one serving left. I got so excited that I was almost done with it that I ordered another brand to try before I finished this one... It is still sitting on the top of my fridge, waiting to be consumed. By who? I have no idea, but I just can't handle one last serving of this stuff. I want to want to, I really do... But I can't. The flavored stuff might be better, but I couldn't do the stevia right now (which is in every single flavored protein powder that I could find) so I had to go with plain. Sorry, Garden of life, I really do like you, but not this plain nastein. (Sadly, the other brand was not much (if any) better.... So... It's nothing against the brand, more just plain vegan protein powder I suppose)

Utterly Gross Flavor, Better ingredients than most
October 5, 2017
Absolutely disgusting flavor! Hands down one of the worst I've ever tried. It tasted like medicine with fake chocolate flavor added. I'm all for trying to get protein shakes that are not full of junk, coloring and preservatives, but this is not the shake for me. YUCK!
Meh.
July 8, 2017
The taste is decent but it's way, way too sweet. Nearly intolerable for me. I drink my shakes mixed with coffee and MCT oil and today I actually added grass-fed butter hoping that it might tame the sweetness a bit. It was okay. Appetite suppression/using as meal replacement is medicore. Will not likely order again.
The flavor is sickening
April 15, 2016
I am impressed by the ingredients and quality of the product. My huge problem is the taste. There is so much Stevia in this powder I can hardly stand to drink it. The flavor is horrendous and it is strangely foamy! The bizarre artificial sweetness lasted for over an hour after my first time drinking it.I am very unhappy with my purchase.
My son started weight training and was pushing me to hurry and get him a good protein powder
September 19, 2015
I should have read all the negative reviews before buying this. But I saw it's vegan and gluten free, and that's important to me. My son started weight training and was pushing me to hurry and get him a good protein powder. Now that we got it, he dislikes it so much that he won't use it. I'm using it myself, but I dislike anything sweet. This is sweet beyond what I can bear. I despise the taste of stevia, and in the microscopic fine print it lists stevia as "other ingredients." I smelled it as soon as I opened the container, but hoped my son would be OK with it. My mistake for not researching more.
Beware if you're used to the taste of whey vanilla protein
September 15, 2015
I bought this because I am sensitive to whey and wanted to try a plant based protein. IT TASTES HORRIBLE!!!! The vanilla flavor is very weird and I have yet to find a way to camouflage the taste. It stands out in every smoothie mixture I have tried. It is very sweet and fake tasting, I'm not entirely sure that the taste even resembles vanilla in any way. I wish I could return it. But now I have to try to find a way to power through two pounds of the stuff. I gave it two stars though, because while it is almost undrinkable, it digests well.
Not for me...
June 30, 2015
After reading all the reviews I decided to try it.. I was hoping to like it but I really can't stand the taste. If you are used to whey protein this tastes totally different and leaves a bad after taste in your mouth.. Will be switching back to whey protein.. My advice is to try it some where else before you buy it..

Dear Garden of Life,
August 12, 2016
As a longtime customer, I'd like to sincerely thank you for the newly formulated Raw Protein product. While I was extremely pleased with the high quality (98.2 biological value), low calorie product that I had been using multiple times daily for years, it never occurred to me that what was missing in my life was a lower quality, higher cost protein powder loaded with emulsifiers, salt, and cheap pea protein. Hats off to you for managing to deliver 30% more protein by making the scoop size larger and decreasing the number of servings per package! The new 60% full oversized container is a great touch, too. I feel like your talents may be underutilized at a nutrition company. NASA or SpaceX could use the geniuses who engineered this breakthrough.

Kudos on the taste of the new formula. The old one, while not remarkable, mixed well in smoothies and similar without overpowering the other ingredients. You've really upped the ante with this one, though, which is best described as tasting like harvested human sweat. Maybe you've got some kind of machine to wring it out of soaked gym clothes. I guess that's what the "30% more protein" people worked on after that triumph of engineering and marketing.
Elementary analysis of how we are getting MUCH less from GOL.
August 10, 2016
I have been an Amazon.com customer for over 13 years. I have never written a review, until now. I am so disgusted with Garden of Life and their "updated" product. It comes in a larger tub. It has a larger scoop. There is bold print everywhere on how it has 22 grams of protein per serving. Yet when I stopped to analyze their newest iteration of their protein product, I realized I am getting MUCH LESS. The tub, although being much larger than the previous version comes brand new, HALF EMPTY.
The NEW and IMPROVED version has only 20 SERVINGS total per tub. The old had about a months supply - 28 servings.
So to break it down New vs Old:
New tub = 568g of total product; 28g serving size; 22g protein (78% protein)
Old tub = 622g of total product; 22g serving size; 17g protein (77% protein)

In reality we are ending up with just a very slight increase in the amount of protein per scoop, yet 8 servings less and in that ridiculous LARGER tub.

The new tub is LARGER in size yet contains LESS. That was just wasteful, possibly designed to deceive the consumer - all from a company that states it wants to do the best for the world. How about start by being honest and simply maintain what you had going while improving the contents. If you reduce the amount of product - then REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE TUB!

Lastly, regarding the servings. 28 servings in the old tub and 20 in the new. I will have to purchase the NEW product over 18 times in one year period if I'm taking one serving per day. The old tub would have to be bought about 13 times.

I am a college student without much extra money who tries to eat healthy. I always sit in the front of the class and even if I'm not the brightest student I do know that money doesn't grow on trees. I have learned however after this product, money is growing VERY well in the Garden of Life.
DO NOT like the "new & improved
August 5, 2016
DO NOT like the "new & improved!" I think the product itself is still a quality product, but the flavor is...more than disappointing. It may be 'smoother' but compared to the previous product, well there is no comparison. And I bought two! Unhappily choking it down :(
6 month devoted customer disappointed after rebrand.
August 2, 2016
Missing the true value of raw protein without the sodium. I have a low tolerance to sodium and the rebrand just totally destroyed my routine. Sodium is a preservative. Bring back the sunshine!
The new formula is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!
July 20, 2016
I have been using this product for years and loved it. The new formula is gloppy and tastes horrible. And while the price remains the same, you receive 2 ounces less, a larger container filled with mostly empty space, and a claim saying "30% more protein" - the more protein is because the scoop is larger (28 g vs the former 22 g). I am VERY disappointed as I now have to find a new protein powder - not an easy task when you have celiac disease and a milk allergy.

Yuck! Cookies n cream. I don't mind Stevia nut such a horrible taste. It's not only a bad after taste. It's overall bad from beginning to end.
Gritty and thick!
April 14, 2016
This was HORRIBLE! It was like drinking barium! Gritty and thick. I cut way back the next time I used in my smoothy, and if was just as bad. I will never ore this again.
Horrible after-taste!
February 21, 2016
This product has a horrible after-taste! I'm usually not a picky person, and can tolerate most protein powders, but this was bad... I don't know if its the brand itself, or just the raspberry chocolate flavor. Its too sweet, and gives off this gross burning sensation in the back of my throat.... I tried mixing it up with some bananas, dates, and some other combos to see if I could make it more manageable, but the sickly sweetness didn't go away! I'm never ordering this again!
