My 4 year old Granddaughter loved this. I got her a 3/4 & it fits her great. Her Mom had to hide the crown & dress to save for her dress up day....she was wearing it everyday.

Adorable! I ordered the x-small and it's too long for my 6 year old but I'm going to take it up a little bit. Super cute outfit and it fits well. I shopped around and this had a much better price. What a great buy!

5 stars because it was less than $20 and took us to 2 events!We purchased this costume for 2013 Halloween. My daughter went to a Halloween Ball and Trick or Treating.The color is exactly as shown in the picture. The tiara comes with the costume, but not the seaweed boa-we purchased that separately (and it was perfect too!). The tiara does not have little teeth to hold it in place, so I used mini clips and it didn't budge.The sequins fall off, as stated in other reviews. It seems like a lot if you look on the floor, but does not seem to make a difference in the presentation of the costume. As my daughter walked, she still shimmered.As for fit, my daughter is a size 10 and is 70 pounds while her height is 53 inches. We took the medium and it fit perfectly. The only problem we had was the fishtail. I pinned it slightly so that she could walk without stepping on it, and it still looked like a mermaid tail and hid her feet.For the tiara, I embellished it with rhinestones and added ribbon so that it would fall behind her. I also created a starfish wand.

I have a 6 year old girl. We live in Michigan so October gets cold. I was so happy to find this costume with sleeves! Many of these tiny costumes are too cold for our weather. We still go door to door at halloween so this costume is perfect. People stated this costume ran big but ours did not run that big. I figured if this costume ran big it was better it was big and I could take it up but that was not the case for us. Its a big wide at the bottom for the tail. I think when we walk around outside I will pin it at the waist, so it don't get dirty. It does come with a cheapy head band and the sea shells fall off. I would suggest getting something else in place of that. Over all we are extremely happy with the costume!

for my 4y.o. (2017 halloween)...she is right at 40lbs and 41in tall....it was too tight to slip over her head....so, she stepped into it and was able to get into it...a lil tight getting her arms in...once it was on, it fit perfectly.....it is too long (even for a mermaid look)...we will pin it up in the back when it's time to wear it.

just what I needed to add to dress up box. Found on sale and it is so cute. It is well played with and lasting fine.

The quality wasn't even good enough to hold up for one night (Halloween). It was SUPER cute and she loved it, but the bottom was shredded since it's impossibly long (she's 6 and we got the 6, and it was about 4" too long)

For the price this was a perfect Halloween costume and now she plays dress up with it. It' was really long, so we had to fold it over so she wouldn't trip on it. Also, the little sequins are glued and not sewn so they fall off all over the place. She has had it though for 6 months now an still plays dress up in it.

You can't say no to a daughter begging to be Ariel for Halloween. This costume is well made and has since survived multiple sessions of dress-up since its initial debut on October 31st. It has lost a few sequins but that is standard fare for a regularly used costume.The biggest issue with this costume seems to be sizing. I ordered a M 3-4 for my daughter. At the time, she was rather small for her age of 5 years. Her standard clothing size ranged from 5T to Girls XS 4/6. It fit her well. There was a little room in the shoulders, but overall no complaints. She looked perfectly splendid for Halloween and continues to do so with each dress up session.

adorable... the 4-6 is about 8 inches too long for my almost 5 year old, but fit everywhere else pretty good... a little baggy, but that's ok we will have to have underclothes on anyways... it's known to snow here on Halloween in good ol' Oregon. will also need to reinforce the fin so they flare out... they look pretty wilted. otherwise super cute, and have not had any problems with the sequins. the crown is pretty cheesy, but I was planning on making my little girl one with real shells and starfish anyways... overall, she's happy with it and so am I! It's very age appropriate compared to some of the other ones out there...

Cute but top seems to fit smaller so it'll be a tight fit, which is a concern because my daughter will need to wear a light sweater under it for warmth. Very much a costume piece, I doubt it'll last past our first trick or treat event, thin fabric isn't made to last. I do like that it's a one piece design though, no velcro straps to worry about, I appreciate convenience.

All the green sparkles started to fall down even before first time wear. Fall down completely (making item look terrible) after first laundry.

My daughter was really excited, so we kept it, but I had to hem 7 (!!!!!!!) inches off the waist and cuff the sleeves. I bought the smallest size, my daughter is 4 and average height. Get your sewing machines ready, buyers.

this costume didn't last long... the under side of the tail was all torn up just from walking in it for a short amount of time... we ended up cutting it out and she was still able to wear it for Halloween. I wouldn't purchase this again as I like for my kids to continue to wear their costumes to dress up in after Halloween... but if you only want it for one night, it will work.

I bought the smallest one offered; size XS (4/6) for my 5 year old and it was HUGE; literally a foot or more too long. It actually fit my older 8 year old daughter who's a size 8. My 5 year old was devastated. Now we will start from scratch again to look for a new costume. I must say though, it is a very nice costume, but it should come with the "seaweed" boa though. 5 stars for quality, 1 star for "true to size", cause it's not.

This was not a Prime purchase, which burn't me. They do not refund costumes that are purchased in October only exchanges. Time was too short and I did not feel like paying for additional shipping. Good quality on the costume, so I will give it a 3, but over all I will not by from this vendor again because at the end of the day it cost me $30 for a costume that will not be worn this year, and probably will be too small for next.

It was okay. The bottom kept falling apart and ripping. The top looked okay. My daughter said it was really itchy so she had to put something under it to help with that. Besides the bottom being really cheaply made it got the job done.

It's cute nothing special not very true to size was pretty big on my 7 year old. Shipping was a nightmare I ordered this for her to wear at her tea party didn't come when it said (it may have been the carriers fault in all fairness) so I had to run to the Disney store and buy one THEN ITARRIVED THE SAME TIME HER PARTY GUEST ARRIVED.

I picked it because it had long sleeves for trick or treating, and that part worked, but it was waaaaaaay too long for walking (I ordered an x-small, which says 4-6; my daughter is 5.5 and tall for her age). If your kid just needs to sit on a rock looking mermaidy, it would be perfect, but I had to pin and re-pin all night so my daughter didn't trip. By the end of the night the lining of the fins was torn and it was just a mess so I tossed it.

Despite reading all of the reviews , I went with this costume anyway. It definitely runs big. And LONG. The bottom of the fins are trashed after just walking around for 40 minutes in her school parade and a small Boo at the local Park. By Halloween, it looked like I had let her wear some nasty old worn out costume.

It was very cute my daughter loved it however the size was much larger than the indicates size on the description. My daughter is a tall size 4/5 this fit as if it was a size 8. The headband it came with tore apart the first day the shells popped off.

I took measurements of our seven year old and used the size chart to determine what size to buy. Based on all but a few measurements, I should have purchased a small, but I went ahead and ordered a medium. Our daughter tried it on last night and the sleeves come just past her elbows and the bottom of the costume to mid calf. Our daughter is 54" tall. Needless to say it looks odd and nothing like the picture. *sigh* Also, some of the sequins are coming off & we only took it out of the package and had one quick try on!

Terrible quality. The part where it's supposed to look like pink bra is not gathered at all, that stitch is missing. Looks like someone stopped working on it half way and just suffer into the package.

I got the product a while back, and my daughter finally gets to wear it for the first time today because it runs so big. Anyhow, today is her first day wearing it, and it's adorable. On the other hand, I am very disappointed because at least 50 of the sequins has falling out already and she may not even wear it again after this one time. I understand if I had washed it or something and it got loosen up, but it's only been hanging up all year.

Snags, unravelling after 15 minutes of play,and my granddaughter isn't rough on costumes. The sizing is way off as well. The skirt is so narrow she has difficulty walking. A lot of money for poor quality product.

The costume looks quite good on, but beware the washing instruction: you're not allowed to wash it! This is children's costume to be worn by… children! Of course we're going to need to wash it. We put it through our machine on its gentlest, shortest cycle and now all the sequins on the body are falling off and making a huge mess.

This is not a high quality costume. It was shedding the sequins from the first time she put it on. I like to let the kids play with their Halloween costumes throughout the next year, but this one was quickly disposed of. Not worth the cost.

While shopping on Amazon for an Ariel costume for my grandaughters 4th birthday I considered this costume. After reading numerous reviews about sizing I decided against the purchase. Unfortunately the item was in my cart along with another costume & several other items. After check out I realized I had accidently purchased this costume. I contacted the seller to cancel the purchase however they claimed the item had already shipped (not an Amazon Prime, shipped immediately??). I was told to wait until the item arrived, then file a return.When I filed for the return I was told I would be charged shipping/handling as well as a 20% restock fee. Buyer beware. To fit into this XS my "tall for her age" 40 pound four year old would need to be at least a foot taller. Email received from the seller basically blamed Amazon because their size charts do not correspond to "their" sizing and they cannot change the Amazon charts. I suggest the seller change YOUR sizing to correspond to the posted charts. A XS is an XS is an XS. Read your reviews before you purchase this one! Amazon stands by their customers and provided a refund, thank you Amazon. I will not purchase from Pure Costumes again.
