Good basic thermostat.
April 2, 2017
We are going to put our house on the market in the next month. Before we do, we are replacing old ugly things with new ones which give it a cosmetic boost. Door hinges, door knobs, thermostats, and a couple of electric baseboard heaters. I just changed out all of our thermostats and replaced them with these. They are basic, look good, and work. Nothing high tech, but the buyers can buy those if they want.
Simple and economical thermostat for baseboard heaters.
July 28, 2016
There's nothing outstanding about this thermostat, but I wasn't looking for anything other than a simple, economical, wall mounted control for my baseboard heater. Honeywell has been making controls for decades and I've installed many over the years as an electrician. The CT410B Electric thermostat is meant for loads such as baseboard heaters or Forced fan wall heaters, not furnaces. This clean looking, inexpensive thermostat is exactly what I needed, something to keep my well room in my barn above freezing. I set it for about 40 degrees during the winter and don't have to worry about frost and freezing.
Honeywell CT410B 120/240V Thermostat
April 20, 2016
Replaced 50 year old 120V thermostats to gas heated blowers. Works like a charm and I like that they turn completely off. Only uses one side. They seem to turn on and off within a reasonable range of where they are set. The old ones were so bad anything would be better. Actual room temperature was not measured but since this is not a home but building heating control minor temperature fluctuations are no bother.Installation was quick and painless. I just used the two black wires and cut off the red ones short but left enough if I ever needed to use that side in the future. This is just a simple inline switch application to send electric at the approximate temperature. Just make sure you turn off the electric at the circuit breaker before starting the change over.

I'm using this in an outdoor chicken brooder. It's protected from rain but not from humidity. I have only been using it for a few months so I cannot say how it will hold up but so far so good. I mounted it in a standard junction box with a 110V plug on one side an an extension cord on the other side. For operating heating lights or heat pads in a brooder, cold frame or green house this is the best option I have found after many years. My applications do not require programming or a cooling setting but require ruggedness and simplicity. For these reasons, this is an excellent option over the many programmable and sold-state thermostatted outlets that are available.
Used For Gas Fireplace
January 19, 2016
In our living room we have a gas fireplace. It works wonderfully to heat up just that room. Sometimes too well, even at the lowest flame height. This necessitated someone actively operating the switch on the wall to maintain a comfortable temperature. This was not only an inconvenience, but a waste of energy, as we were over-heating the space. I went online and searched for a thermostat that would switch the fireplace on or off. Having lived in a house with electric baseboards, I knew these were available.Amazon offered this one at a very reasonable price. It's way overbuilt for the application, but it was easily installed and works exactly as I expected it to. Setting a desired temperature with the knob, knowing it's not exactly the same temperature that is displayed, took some trial and error, but the gas was switched on and off as the temperature was reached and it cooled. Now, onto finding a quieter fan for the fireplace...
Used for Fahrenheat FUH724 240V Garage Heater
November 4, 2015
I used this thermostat with my Fahrenheat FUH724 240V Garage Heater. I DID NOT use it to break the circuit on the way to the heater- this would shut the heater off prematurely before the fan had time to cool the heating elements down (this prolongs the heater life). I did however (since I had the unit) use only the 2 black wires and replace the installed thermostat on the unit.If you are looking at the same heater, you will understand the rest of my review. For installation I simply used some 14-2 romex and attached a female end, push-on connector (the same as what is attached to the installed unit thermostat) to the black and white wires. I then unplugged and replaced the push-on connectors that the installed thermostat were attached to with the ones I connected to the 14-2 wire. I ran that wire out of the unit, down the wall to a electrical box and installed this thermostat using just the black wires (one for the black and one for the white on the 14-2). I connected the ground inside the heater and the box as well, mostly just because it was there. I wrapped the original thermostat wires up and left the unit in the heater. This setup works perfectly and gives me a thermostat at ground level instead of up near the top of my 11ft ceilings.

Nice unit
October 31, 2017
Works as advertised. Got it two bucks cheaper here than at Menard's. Realising we only paid $22 for this, that little black smudge in lower right of display which some complain about, and is only visible when the light is on, is very insignificant and of no consequence. Silly people. Since wife is home all day, I have wake, leave, and return all programmed with the same time and temperature of 72° @ 5:45 a.m. Sleep is set for 65° @ 11:00 p.m. everyday. Weekends have wake, leave and return set for 8:00 a. m. The backlight feature is really nice in our darker hallway. Lights up when pressing the run button to check time and temperature. Fairly easy to program. Recommended.
Works Well; Programming Easy
October 5, 2017
The product arrived on time as promised. Although I am pretty handy with electronics and am pretty literate having a Juris Doctorate, I had trouble following the printed included instructions when it came time to program the thermostat. Fortunately YouTube had several videos showing how to operate this particular thermostat. After watching one, programming seemed easy. I am satisfied and can report that it works well.
Simple and easy to install
May 20, 2017
Our old thermostat wasn't controlling the temperature at all and we actually thought we had a problem with our AC. I decided to try this first, and didn't want something fancy. I installed this today, which took less than 30 minutes start to finish with clean up and finding my screwdriver. The AC came right on and my house finally cooled down!It isn't super fancy, but the programming is pretty nice and our old one didn't have that option. It's been at least a month and it is still doing well.
Well worth the money
April 27, 2017
Excellent thermostat. Easy to use and to install.update: thirty days after installing I got up one morning the screen was blank. Nothing worked. Changed batteries, nothing. Hit it on the palm of my hand and it started up again. This makes two in a row I had the exact same thing happen.
Works great. Tip

Works great. Tip: Don't do what I do -- read the damn instructions first. Rule #1 - LABEL THE WIRES. I foolishly assumed yellow would go in the Y slot, but in my case it went in the W slot...and Blue went in the Y slot. Had to pay a Just Answer HVAC guy to help me straighten out the mess of my own making.
It works
August 28, 2016
This thermostat does exactly what it says it is going to do. It was easy to hook up, easy to program, and if you are on a regular schedule like myself I don't see the point in spending a few hundred dollars on a smart thermostat when this can do the same thing for 25 bucks. To hook it up I just removed the old thermostat, took a picture of the wiring, then wired this up the exact same as the old one. You do need a very tiny screwdriver to make the connections, but I think that is probably true of any thermostat. You also have to put batteries in it.

Works well at low wattage, but may shut off prematurely with high wattage
August 9, 2016
This thermostat is overall good, but has a couple things for potential improvement...1) It works well under low load, and initially under high load, but its temperature sensor is not well isolated from the heat of the wiring. If you get near its 5280 watt max (22 amps @ 240V), 10 gauge wiring will get warm, and the heat from that will cause this thermostat to shut off a bit too soon.2) It's easy to think that you're turning it all the way Off, when you're really only setting it to its lowest setting. Not a big deal, but you have to remember that it's not off unless you turn it all the way left, beyond where you might thing it stops... There's a "hump" or point of resistance when turning the knob left that you'll need to move it beyond.
Easy to install, fairly consistent temperatures
January 14, 2016
I have now replaced three thermostats in my home which control ceiling-radiant heat. These have totally changed my life. The old thermostats were poorly calibrated which often meant there was either no heat or we would come home to a house that felt like opening the oven door. These new thermostats were simple to install and do a nice job controlling the temperature. Two of the three seem to give fairly reasonable, consistent temps. One of them is set to about 55 and makes it about 68, which seems pretty off base. They were also very easy to install once I consulted the wiring diagram.
Nothing Fancy
December 27, 2015
I have this controlling a 240V baseboard heater in a small workshop area off a garage that gets quite cold. The large temperature control range is perfect for this application. It allows setting a low temperature to save some money while keeping stuff from freezing. The units construction is very simple but solid. It uses a single bi-metal plate to actuate a switch plunger. Don't expect 0.5 degree accuracy with this setup but it works well enough. My only complaint is the size of the switch sticking out of the rear. With the switch, four large wire nuts and 12-gauge wires, stuffing this into a metal single gang surface mount box is near impossible. You'll have better luck with a recessed wall mounted box, which is probably a more typical application anyway.

Works well (so far) but look carefully at it, some of them might be Canadian and have the temperature in Celsius. (Look before you install in other words) sadly there really aren't options for this type of device....
Nice thermostats, great seller, aggravating Honeywell customer support.
July 27, 2014
Really like the look and function of the thermostats. I bought 4 and installed them in 4-wire mode replacing older existing thermostats in our vacation cabin that didn't have positive on/off. 3 of them worked fine, but the fourth wouldn't power on the baseboard heater. After first re-installing the old thermostat to be certain that I didn't have a bad circuit breaker or loose wiring, I got out my VOM and discovered that the positive on/off wasn't closing the circuit. Since I was beyond the Amazon return period, I called Honeywell support because the thermostats have a 12-month warranty. Judging by the accents, the support center is offshore in India, it appears. After being subjected to their standard menu checklist and answering their questions for 30 minutes, they insisted that I had to re-install the thermostat in 2-wire mode to "prove" that it didn't work. As an electrical engineer who has completely wired my home, I tried to convince them that I knew what I was doing but to no avail. So now I have to go back up to the cabin, re-install the defective thermostat while I have them on the phone to "prove" what I already know! Nice thermostats, wish I could say the same for Honeywell support! No complaints with the Amazon seller of the thermostats, they shipped quickly and correctly.
Exactly what I wanted
November 27, 2011
The description of this unit is sketchy, at best. I bought it to replace the original thermostat for a 120V ceiling mounted fan forced bathroom heater, and it works great. The Honeywell is 4 wire and 2 wire capable, 120V or 240V, has no minimum load requirement, and can handle up to 5280 watts @ 240V. The feature I like best is "positive off", plus the fact it is so much more accurate the the old POS. I deducted 1 star for the description and somewhat confusing instructions (for a simple old handyman like me).

I took a leap and purchased this one and it was so easy to install
July 17, 2017
At first I was worried about replacing my thermostat as I have heard horror stories on issues they had. I took a leap and purchased this one and it was so easy to install. Everything was labeled and the instructions were very detailed. It took me about 10 mins to replace my existing thermostat and another 5 mins to figure out the programming. All in all it is a good thermostat for what I need it for.I did have the mark on the bottom right of the screen that everyone has complained about and it is strange to see but I don't plan on looking at my thermostat too often.
Easy to install, works great
June 5, 2017
I research every product that I buy online. After reading several reviews, I concluded that this was the best choice for my needs. I have a gas furnace and electric central AC. My old thermostat was calibrated about 2 degrees too warm, and there was no way to fix it, so for $23, it was worth buying a replacement. I looked at Lowes, but I didn't see this exact model in the store.I had never replaced a thermostat before, but this was extremely easy. I had my toolbox ready, including a small precision screwdriver, & it took me 7 minutes to install it. There are countless YouTube videos explaining how it's done, but the manual instructions are sufficient. The thermostat works great! It is simple to use. Programming it also dead simple. I like the fact that it doesn't have a hinged door that you have to open. All the buttons are always visible and easily accessible. The only reason I withheld a star in my rating is that the green LED screen has a bit of a smudgy looking flaw in the right 1/3 corner. It's not noticeable unless the screen is lit, but it's still a flaw, so I can't give it 5 stars. However, it works, it's easy to install, & the price is right. I would buy it again.
Not disappointed - good value
May 17, 2017
Easy enough installation. Has worked well so far. Display is not that easy to read without the back-light and the main numbers are a little smaller than I hoped.I am not using the cooling side since I have no air conditioning. It presented no problems working with a millivolt furnace.
Need a watch battery screwdriver but otherwise easy install...other issues
November 21, 2016
I replaced an ancient Honeywell round thermostat with this one. I was initially going to purchase a much more expensive model to hide the cabling better but I just put this on top of the old gold faceplate that came with the old honeywell thermostat. Looks fine. It took about 15 minutes to install. The tools you will need:-Ideally a power drill or impact drill with a phillips bit to remove screws, and install new screws- a watch battery screwdriver to connect the black and white cables.- The box does not come with one. After two months of using this unit, there were no cost savings. I just didn't have to adjust the thermostat each morning and evening. What did happen is that this caused my ancient boiler to run inefficiently (the boiler would come off and on consistently when cold) causing my gas bill to go up significantly. The aquastat had to be adjusted and the low setting and differential were decreased by a homeservice heating professional.
Pretty decent, especially for the price
August 15, 2015
Pretty decent, especially for the price. Two complaints: the LCD is poor quality and there is what appears to be "dust" (little black speckles) inside the LCD on the lower right hand corner. Other complaint is there is no C terminal so that the unit can run without batteries. The unit I replaced with this Honeywell was a super cheapo GemTech, but could be powered off the C wire, with batteries as a backup power source.Lastly, while not a complaint because I knew what I was getting, I wish they let you pick the degree difference when to turn on. +/- 1 degree is too little for my location, so it's turning on quite often. I know there is a workaround by selecting max number of times it turns on per hour under the advanced settings, but I prefer to set it by degree difference.
A lot of Pro's - Not so many Con's
July 14, 2014
7/14/14I just installed this thermostat two days ago and so far it seems to be working great! I have never in my life installed a thermostat and after watching a YouTube video, I was able to do it without calling anyone for help. It's very straightforward, especially if your wires are color coded. It comes with stickers to label the wires if you need to and it comes with the hardware needed to mount it to the wall. The only things I dislike - and the reason I deducted a star - is that it's really hard to pull the faceplate off. I'm a little worried next time I do it I might even pull the whole thing off the wall despite being screwed in. It also takes batteries only although from what I have been told they should only need replaced annually and even then it will tell you 60 days prior to it dying that it needs changed. Another downside is that every time you change batteries, you have to program your settings all over again. But that's just me nitpicking. For the price, it's well worth it and should save me a lot of money on my energy bill.

Good basic thermostat but dial is completely inaccurate
September 11, 2017
Installed two so far and they are way off when I compare the dial to the ambient room temp. One clicks on at around 45 degrees (when the room temp is at 70) and the other is about 10 degrees off. I was very careful not to move the knob when installing and nothing seems out of line. Are these defective or is there a way to calibrate them? I am not looking for the same precision that you would get on a digital thermostat but I don't think +/- 5 degrees is too much to ask for.
Does the job, but not very accurate.
February 11, 2017
Was installing this with a garage heater that needed a thermostat that was rated for 5,000 watts. So my choices were limited. I bought this despite reviews that said that it was not very accurate. It is not. I find that it is off by 5 - 10 degrees. But since it seem to do the job otherwise, I ordered a AcuRite 01083M Pro Accuracy Temperature & Humidity Monitor (which I gave a star review) and mounted it next to it. Now I ignore the temperature guide on the thermostat and set the dial based on the digital thermometer.
Bulky wires and wide temperature swings
December 14, 2015
I'd prefer screw terminals to connect my own wires to instead of non-replaceable "pig tails" that require large wire nuts - if the junction box is narrow it can be very difficult to mount this thermostat. The hysteresis of this device is about 4°F - about twice that of digital thermostats, so expect relatively wide temperature swings. For example, if I have it set to 70°F, the thermostat will come on when the temperature falls to 66°F and will turn off once the temperature rises to 70°F resulting in the temperature swinging between 66°F and 70°F. Since the hysteresis ideally should be centered around the set point, I have to set this thermostat at 72°F so the temperature swings +/-2°F from set point instead of +0°F/-4°F. This isn't "good", but it's actually better than I expected from a mechanical thermostat. I use this to control a heat lamp for my dogs.
Caution if your a novice with electricity!
December 2, 2015
I expected better from a product with Honeywell name! I followed the directions exactly as directed, when they said to turn the knob till you hear it click on; no click! My volt meter showed power in, but no power out no matter how much I turned the knob. Disconnected the power pulled the outer case and knob off, started turning the actuator dial and finally heard it click. it had been put together a full 180° out, put everything back together reconnected the power, everything seems to be working fine but I will defiantly will be keeping an eye on it! Not for those with little experience.
They are easy to install and an atheistically pleasing looking basic product
November 1, 2015
I purchase two of these units, and exchanged one for the same product. They are easy to install and an atheistically pleasing looking basic product. It does what you would expect it to do, to turn on and off your baseboards. With all three of my products the issues I have with it is that the temperature it thinks it is, is not accurate. With thermostats taped next to the units clearly showing below 60, the units will not turn on till close to 75, which gives me little room to crank up the temperature more one the room gets warmer. The unit will not allow adjustment to the knob to change the temp displayed. The unit works, but I may not purchase again.
it seems to be working fine and it's worth the price
December 7, 2014
The thermostat itself is probably a decent thermostat. I just installed it so time will tell, it seems to be working fine and it's worth the price. My complaint would be the extremely poor directions that are provided. It's a simple process really once you know what is required to install it and they should be able to provide detailed directions that are helpful and easy to follow. I had to research the internet for an hour or two to find what I needed.

Some good news and some bad news.
March 5, 2016
UpdatedMy original purchase started "eating" batteries. A new set of batteries would be dead in about two or, at most, three days. Only about two days out of Amazon's replacement period, I contacted them and they would do nothing but advised me to contact the manufacturer (Honeywell).Honeywell told me that they would replace the thermostat but that it would take about ten days to receive my new one. As were were having a cold spell, fortunately I had kept the old bi-metallic one that had been there and I had to put it back. NOT a happy camper! The new one arrived as they said it would and, once again, I switched thermostats. The replacement has been working properly for several months now and no sign of batteries wearing out. Honeywell told me that a set of batteries should last about two years so it will take a while to see if they make it or not. I bought good quality premium alkaline batteries made in US so there should be no excuse for premature failure. In my opinion, Honeywell stood behind their product though I think they could have used expedited shipping but...AMAZON? NOT SO MUCH! TWO days and they wouldn't assist me! I now think twice about where I purchase my items even if they do cost a little bit more. Just the principle of the thing!
Your basic thermostat
December 9, 2015
Not super well made or fancy, but I don't think it's going to break tomorrow either. Mine came with a few spots on the screen that haven't gone away, though it doesn't affect the utility of the unit.
Easy install and setup, but lacks some user-control of temperature cycle.
November 16, 2014
I bought this at a local Menards store with assistance of the staff. I replaced an old round Honeywell mercury-switch model. Have the typical 2-wire setup for a very ancient (40 years old?) natural gas forced hot air furnace. I decided to squeeze some savings on the gas bill by lowering the temperature during the workday when I'm never home for 9 hours, and also drop temperature overnight as I like it cooler while I sleep.Installation was a breeze. I work as an office equipment service tech, so I did not expect any trouble figuring it out, your mileage may vary in that regard though. I had the required small screwdrivers on hand. The mounting template perfectly matched the old round thermostat, so I just reused the old screws in the original holes in the wall. As I customarily do, I did read the installation and setup directions prior to installation.Programming was also fairly easy. What you have to understand here is that there are 4 adjustable times of the day where the temperature can be allowed to change. Exactly what the amount I needed for my purposes. If you wish for fewer adjustments, just set 2 or more of the consecutive time events to be the same temperature. This is how I handled the weekend program, as I only wanted to lower the temperature at bedtime and raise again in the morning. I left the "away" and "home" at the same temperature as the "wake" setting to accomplish that. Again, you can adjust the time of day for these events in 15 minute increments. I did not see anything confusing about this other than I would forget to push the set button and think I was adjusting the temperature, and instead was changing the time. The numbers being adjusted flash, so that was just me not being observant. The reason for me giving 3 stars is this: there is no adjustment for temperature on/off cycle. That old mercury-switch mechanical thermostat was designed to turn on the heat a couple of degrees below the set temperature, and turn off heat a couple of degrees above. That allowed the furnace to cycle on fewer times, and not waste fuel warming the heat exchanger each time. This cheap Honeywell digital thermostat turns on the furnace with only a dip of 1 degree F, off after warming to set temperature. My furnace in my 100+ year old home with little insulation started cycling on every 12 minutes for short bursts of heat. Turns out that the temperature cycle is factory set and cannot change. The only way to gain some control of this is to go into the advanced programming features and adjust the "cycles per hour". Default setting was 5 (maximum) cycles per hour, thus the furnace turning on every 12 minutes (5 times per hour). I dropped this setting to 3 (20 minutes wait between cycles) and may readjust to 2 in the future. Naturally, the manual does not explain the cycles-per-hour setting other than generic recommendations for different types of heating systems. I can see this becoming a potential problem with actually causing me to use more fuel than with the mechanical thermostat. I'll just have to monitor my fuel use and re-evaluate later in the winter. I may need to bite the bullet and spend 2-3 times more for a different brand thermostat that will allow me to adjust the heat cycle to something that approximates the old thermostat more closely. Wish I had researched this prior to purchase now. Cycling the furnace on-off more often can also lead to it failing, and I do not see how taking a 3-5 year loan to pay for a new furnace saves me money. Everybody I know that replaced furnaces with higher-efficient models during the 1990's are replacing their expensive furnaces again. Mine keeps chugging along.11-23-2013: I bought the Honeywell trim kit http://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-50002883001-50002883-001-Coverplate/dp/B00096JC72/ref=cm_cr-mr-titleAfter installing, I am noticing that the temperature is tracking more correctly compared to a mercury thermometer on a nearby wall. I suspect that the trim plate is isolating the theromstat from the wall surface temperature (which is cool to the touch usually). The temperature is not fluctuating so badly. Furnace is not turning on at regular intervals this weekend. It's also a lot warmer outside, so again time will tell on this.

Temperature varies by about six degrees. Wasn't sure what was going on so I used a lab thermometer hanging right next to it, Set temp for 64 and it rose to 70 before shutting off. I use this in my little home shop (150 sq ft) so it's really just annoying. This would be a real pain in a constantly occupied living area.

Bought this to go with a garage ceiling heater (Fahrenheat FUH54). it works fair at best. Not accurate fro temp setting but does make it where I don't have to get a ladder to adjust the heat directly on the heater. I would recommend spending the money to get something better which is what I will do and have this one replaced.

Simple enough to install but the unit is not accurate. What I mean by that is I must set it for 64º to reach 68º. Unfortuately, I got up this morning and the house felt hot. It was 71º. The bi-metal tempreture sensor is a crude devise. I'm replacing the unit.

For some reason this thermostat is incompatible with our A/C however it works fine with controlling our Heating...we changed it out thinking perhaps it was a faulty unit but had the same issue. The switches used to control the thermostat Heat/Cool and Auto/Fan are very stiff. The display shows current temperature only instead of both current and programmed temperatures. Personally we prefer both displayed.
Defective!!

I was looking for a user-friendly programmable thermostat for my parents to replace their manual unit, so I decided on this one. Unfortunately, the one I received was defective. Like many, many, other reviewers I received a unit with a black smudge in the bottom right hand corner that is only shown when the backlight is illuminated. I went to Walmart to get a new one, installed it, and saw it has the exact same issue. The complaints about this issue go back several years, and still they're being manufactured with this defect. Pretty dissatisfied over here.
works but quality is horrible..
February 20, 2016
first.. it was very easy to install. especially if you owned a similar one before and if you only have 2 wire heating system.. i installed it less then 10 minutes.. i think it took longer to find the screwdriver in the drawer..second. the product it self.. when i read the reviews everyone was complain that there was spotting on the lcd screen and i decided to get it anyway.. mine wasnt that bad but still there was spots on lcd.. kind of upsetting because the honeywell is a good company and for them to take out a product in this condition is unacceptable..finally.. would i recommend it.. it all depends if you need something cheap and works this is it..
Terrible at keeping a set tempurature, get what you pay for.

The only reason im giving it 2 stars instead of one is because it was inexpensive. This thermostat does not keep the tempurature well regulated. I purchassed this to replace the only analog dial looking one that was on the wall, and so far wish i hadnt. It is fairly easy to get set up and to program, but the thing just turns on and off the heat whenever the heck it feels like it. For example: i may have it programmed to just stay at 70 degrees all the time, and it may be 60 degrees in the house and you cannot get it to turn on the heat, then other times when the heat is running it will keep the heat at 78 degrees for several hours and wont turn the heaters off!Im assuming unless all 3 i got (2 from Aamzon one from Walmart) of the same exact model are all lemons that it is just terrible, because all 3 zones that i have in my house are doing the same thing.

CHEAP PIECE OF JUNK! Defective right out of the box. Had it wired correctly, did not work at all. Returning it to Amazon tomorrow...

Very inaccurate. Wouldn't turn on in a 58° room until I turned it past 70° on the dial. Should've gone with a better rated digital thermostat.
68 is the new 90

Have it turned up all the way and still cuts off with the room at 68.
The temp was easily 10 degrees off and not able to be calibrated
March 26, 2016
Please read the reviews. I purchased this product and it performed exactly as the reviews indicated it would. The temp was easily 10 degrees off and not able to be calibrated. That was OK because I just figured out what the temp was that I needed and marked the scale. The reason I'm giving this 1 star though was the device failed now twice in the on position for who knows how long. This second time I wasnt even able to use the off switch to turn it off. Luckily the heater had one. You would be better off finding a different thermostat.

Didn't detect temperature correctly. Area was 40 degrees and the unit thought it was 60.
Short life and wrong readings
December 22, 2015
Easy enough to install. However withing 24 hours it started buzzing when it turns on. The other thing that was a problem was like so many others it read 5 degrees low. Will be returning for something more useful

Don't bother!

Horrible instructions. No labels on the terminals you figure it out and put them on yourself. Really Honeywell? What a joke! Don't buy this!

I did not work for more than 3 days after installation. Our heating guy that installed the one we had to buy to replace this one said he sees this Honeywell programmable thermostat not work more often than not.
Lasted ONLY 3 months

This lasted 3 months before it completely stopped working.
Dead on arrival
December 16, 2016
Display was blank. I discarded the old thermostat before realizing the new one was dead. Spent a few days without heat as a result. Wasted some time on the phone with tech support who instructed me how to install aaa batteries. Ordered a replacement hoping it would arrive sooner than another make/model, but it was a day late. Replacement is working now but can I trust it to turn the furnace off before the house sets fire?

I successfully installed this thermostat and it worked just fine. The problem is after all the work installing it, the thermostat will not stay snapped on the back. I'm returning it for a better product. Honeywell usually makes a better product than this. Not attractive when it just hangs on the wall. I tried to contact Honeywell and gave up because of the long wait.
Check Wire Labels Before Ordering
February 14, 2015
I have a standard central heat/air pump and this does not work on a "multi-stage" system (not sure how I could have determined that prior to trying to install this). Take a peek at your wires before ordering - I had a white wire labeled W2 which made this thermostat incompatible. On a positive note, Honeywell customer service was quick, very helpful and gave me a list of compatible models.
