Great, simple device for the price. Tested it a few times and seems accurate. People that wonder if it works, try placing at least an inch of the tip in a pool of water and it should read max wet, once removed it will return to dry. It's quite simple and reads the conduction of the very tip to the shaft and the meter is calibrated to various resistances. Quite ingenious and requires no batteries to be added.

I need this for my house plants and it works perfectly. I have a tendency to forget when the last time was I watered so it prevents me from OVER watering.

Uncomplicated and works as described for a fast and (seems)accurate moisture read for my plants. Appropriate price. Great little gift for plant loving friends or stocking stuffer. Very satisfied!

I love this meter! All I need is a moisture tester without all the bells and whistles the others have. To me,for the price, this one is the best!

This is a great product. I'm using it to make sure I don't over water my house succulents. The meter appears to be accurate, and I've started using it on all of the other plants on my deck and in the house.

I wouldn't have any plants left without this moisture sensor. It is the best!!! I should add that I have bought at least 15 as I bought some for gifts and all recipients have beautiful plants because of it.

I like it. Just be careful to not stick into compressed, hard soil as the tip will break off and render it useless.

This is working great for me. I wish the top were affixed a bit more securely, but it's strong enough that it shouldn't break off under normal use.

The meter works well but if the ground is hard at all, it is difficult to push deeper than a couple of inches in the soil.

Sensor probe broke within a couple weeks. Would probably work well in better soil but here in AZ our soil is very hard. Need to find a probe that is a lot stronger.

One star because after only a single use, the metal tip of this product broke off and remains someplace in the soil of my plant. One additional star because the seller promptly refunded the purchase price after I contacted him to inform him of the defect.

The packaging said it was also a PH soil level gauge. While the water gauge works adequately, the pkg was disappointing.

Did not work good at all. Put in a glass of water and read dry #2 added some salt and read #9. Put in very wet soil read #5 put in very dry potting soil read #4. Not accurate enough for me think ill just stick to using finger.

Used 1 time and tip fell off and no longer works. The 2 readings I got before the tip broke seemed good, however not helpful when it breaks.

I couldn't find my soil moisture meter, so I just wanted a decent soil moisture meter for my herb garden and decided to get this one from Mudder because of the reviews. It was received as described, however, with wasted packaging - could have been sent in a bag. After opening and placing it in the soil for my herbs, the meter never moved - not even a bit. To test further, I watered the soil and again - nothing. I then just placed it in a cup of water and still nothing.Now I'm forced to get another meter because this one never worked in the first place. Will not recommend.

I have a two pronged moisture meter that I use for in my outdoor greenhouse and purchased this meter for my indoor plants. I have a lot of indoor plants of different varieties, so I thought this moisture meter would take some of the guess work out of watering. My outdoor/two pronged meter also measures light and ph, but I didn't need those functions for my house plants so I went with the single pronged, less expensive meter.This meter is basically worthless. I can feel the potting soil and it can be obviously damp, and this meter will read far to the left "dry". I tried this on several different plants and got a dry reading consistently. If I put the meter into a pot with damp soil and move the meter "just so" ... I can sometimes get a moist reading, but it usually just indicates "dry".I wanted to like this little meter, but it just doesn't do the job. If you're considering a moisture meter, spend the extra money and get a good quality one.

I put it in water and it said dry. Trashed.
