My kids and I all like different water bottles for different features
September 14, 2017
My kids and I all like different water bottles for different features. Love this insulated waterbottle - it is the 2nd one we've purchased. It's one of our favorites because one of my kids prefers waterbottles with a "straw", likes her water to stay cold and likes that there's no condensation. Personally, I like it because the mouth is big and it's easy to fill with ice/water, it's lightweight and easy to carry and comes in lots of different colors.
Great Water Bottle
February 8, 2017
CamelBak always makes good products. I have had an Eddy before that the straw would always pop out forcing me to reach in and fix it multiple times each use, but luckily I have not had the issue with this one. The colors are super rad! The insulation prevents the bottle from "sweating" which is nice, because you can throw it in your bag without having to worry about books and what not getting wet. I love the bite valve design, the straw like sensation enables me to drink a lot more water than I would out of a standard sip water bottle. Keep in mind that the insulation is more for the sweating than it is for keeping the beverage cold, it does help with temperature control a little bit but not significantly. I do really like that it is dishwasher safe as well!
Love!

Perfect size! I love it! Very pretty!
you can drink out of it like it was a straw
September 11, 2015
Works well as intended.

Pros:
- Since there is a tube that runs down all the way to the bottom, you can drink out of it like it was a straw. You wont need to tilt it to drink out of it.
- The spout is sealed by itself which is good that if it does topple over while the spout is out it wont spill the contents. What i do is that I use my teeth to put some pressure to open the spout with just enough pressure so that it opens. It doesnt require a lot of pressure.
- The hole that the cap uses is big enough to fit in regular sized ice cubes. Which is perfect since I like my drinks cold.
- Insulated, I like my drinks cold.

Cons:
- Downside is that if you do take off the cap with the spout closed, whatever liquid is inside the tube will spill out slowly since the vacuum that holds it in is lost which is not such a big deal for me since i just use it for water. It could potentially make a mess if you put juice or any other liquid inside and forget to tilt open the spout before taking the cap off.
- If you do put ice inside you wont have much space left for liquids. In my experience i end up having to refill quite often. But then again I drink a lot of water.

As far as the insulation goes, i havent really made tests to find out how well it works. But for sure it works better than something that is not insulated.
Worth The Price!
June 19, 2015
This will have to be a time monitored review, however as of the first few days...this bottle is great. I wanted a bottle that would fit into cup holders, have a carrying handle for my semi active lifestyle & have a straw. The purple color was a bonus being it was on sale & is my favorite color. At first the most noticeable change is the wide mouth of the bottle. My last bottle lasted at least 3 years, and you had to add the ice cubes one by one, no longer an issue with the Camelbak Eddy. Second. The straw design is epic. My last bottle would always have "back up" due to temperature changes and would leak. The bite technology is a little hard to get used to at first, but prevents daily pools of water being formed on surfaces. Third. The insulation aspect. We travel extensively & also live in the upper midwest where in the morning it could be 30 and 65 by afternoon. Adding ice to a "normal" bottle would almost always end up with huge pools of water due to condensation not to mention the constant drips that end up on your clothes (obviously water not an issue). The Camelbak isn't 100% condensation free, but it is close. The current humidity is 72% today, and the heat index is around 64, and even though there is some dampness on the bottle, it is nothing compared to some. Life changing...maybe. Lets just say I no longer have to put my bottle on my table or desk with a napkin or coaster. We'll see how it holds us, but so far so good!

Ice cold water for biking
September 25, 2017
I love these bottles! I have 2 and bought one for my mother. I take them biking and kayaking. When I take long bike rides I'll freeze one with water overnight. The other bottle I fill with ice cubes and water before I go out. The insulation has worked great for me. Sometimes too good on the one that was frozen... as it's still mostly a giant ice cube when I'm ready to drink it! I find the bottles do sweat, but since I'm using them while riding it's not a problem for me. I find it very easy to pull them out of my bottle holders and drink while I am riding. My mom loves her bottle too. It works much better at insulating than whatever old bottle she used before.
Keep Water a Little Cooler
September 17, 2017
This is a quality water bottle and does keep the water a little cooler than previously owned bottles. This bottle does not keep liquid cold. Such a bottle would be heavier and larger. It fits in my bottle cages tightly......however, I do have metal cages that can be slightly bent to accommodate small variations in bottle size. Over all a good product at a good price.
pretty cool, actually
August 31, 2017
I bought two. If you are wondering why the colors are muted, the outer layer is a milky plastic, the image is from a sheet of Mylar in the insulating space... pretty cool, actually.
Good product
August 16, 2017
I am happy as it kept my water very cold, better than any other water bottle I've had before. I thought that the lid was defective, but as it turns out, I was using a lid from another bottle. Now I'm happy.
Works great!
August 3, 2016
I was suprised when I left this in my hot truck for 1 1/2 hours and it still had a lot of ice in it!
This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned
September 7, 2015
This is easily the best bike water bottle I've ever owned! Wish I had known about these sooner. Wide mouth, 24oz capacity, no plastic taste, tough (removable) loop for more mounting options and insulation keeps my drink cold for a longer amount of time! My only gripe is the the mouthpiece is a bit stiff... not nearly enough to remove a star though. Great product for the price!

Works great and I love the color
May 26, 2017
Works great and I love the color. I would have rated it 5 stars but I received it with a deep scratch down the side. It was packaged nicely so I'm guessing it happened before it was wrapped. Other than that I have zero complaints.
I love this water bottle and use it often
September 20, 2016
I love this water bottle and use it often. However, after less than a year of use (and proper cleaning), there is gunk stuck under the non-removable part of the lid. I have no idea how to get it out and have contacted Camelbak's warranty department.
Great if you don't want your bottle to sweat
September 1, 2016
Another high quality camelbak product that I'm almost completely satisfied with. I got the insulation because previous bottles would sweat on my in the Florida humidity. I hardly have issues with that but I don't like the large size. The insulation section is much larger than it really needs to be so overall the bottle is huge compared to its relatively modest 20 oz volume.

I've noticed issues with mold and mildew but you just have to clean it like any other kitchen item.
Functional
March 31, 2016
The insulation doesn't work too well, ice melts after about 2 hours, and the temperature begins dropping between the 3rd or 4th hour after putting your choice of beverage. However, it serves it's purpose as a water bottle. Very durable, and compact, and convenient. I haven't experienced any leaking whatsoever and I'm ultimately happy with this purchase and recommend it!
Doesn't sweat but does not stay cold very long
May 23, 2013
I wouldn't really call this bottle "insulated", but I honestly didn't buy it for that reason anyways. It doesn't sweat, which I really like. It also will not keep cold things cold for very long (maybe 1-2 hours if it is loaded with ice). It doesn't hold as much as the other Eddy bottle so it is not really good for sports if you drink a lot like I do. I have lot of the Camelbak water bottles - I'm a big fan of the wide mouths for loading in ice, the hook for carrying it with my finger, the fact that they don't leak, and the bite valve for drinking without tipping the bottle. If you use them a lot you should buy some replacement bite valves as they split after awhile.

Pretty good
August 7, 2017
The insulation seems to take up a fair amount of volume, decide for yourself whether you'd have colder water for a brief time period or more water overall. We take it on bike rides and stop infrequently for water so the temperature is the same as our non-insulated bottle. The insulation also makes it hard to squeeze to get water out (minor complaint). Also it has a pull cap that has opened or been left opened and leaked in my car and places. That being said its a good bottle, we just prefer the camelback non-insulated one we have with the jet valve opening, I mostly got this one to try and it was cheaper.
Good size, fits bike holder
June 23, 2017
Good size, fits bike holder, better insulation than average sports bottle. Would rate it higher if it insulated better, but since it's not rigid it can't have a vacuum sealed insulation. I am pleased with it.

August 3, 2016
Cheap-ish but cute and easy to clean. Great for biking or when unscrewing a lid is inconvenient.
Works but there are better!
June 28, 2016
Does as is should but there are better in the same price range but being that this works I give it 4 and knock a star for others being better go for a thermos insulated bottle I bought one on Amazon $1 more and it keeps drinks cooler longer but holds less!
Solid
March 22, 2016
Holds a good amount, has an indentation that allows it to clip in and feel secure in the bottle cage and looks nice. Keeps drinks cold for longer than an uninsulated bottle, but I can't say I was wowed by how long it stayed cold/semi frozen when I filled it with half ice and half water on my hour and a half ride around noon on an 80 degree sunny day. Better than the alternative but nothing too surprising. Still a good product and good price.
This is a nice bicycling bottle
August 14, 2015
This is a nice bicycling bottle. Bottle top is the same style that all of us grew up with. No fancy valve or twist knob. Pull and go. The polar lining I was skeptical about that it would stay cooler longer. So I put it up against a camel back podium which I love and is another sleek bottle. I froze both bottles the night before close to full. The next day I took them in my hot car to do errands around town. It took about 6 hours for the camel back podium to completely melt. The polar bottle had about 1/4-1/5 of ice still in the bottle. After about 7 hours it was fully melted. So it does keep things cooler than other bottles. The handle loop on the polar is nice to hook it to a backpack or bike. I like that the polar has 24 oz over the podium at 22 I believe. A few extra ounces is nice to have on a hot day.

We love these bottles but this one didn't last as long
September 2, 2017
We have used this company for water bottles for the past 2 yrs. For school I usually go with the smaller kids size bottle and it always works great. However I bought this larger one for my daughter to bring water to summer camp and it only lasted about 2 weeks and started leaking.
Insulated, BUT...
August 22, 2016
Don't expect too much in the way of insulation. Yes, it prevents condensation on the outside, and that's great. But the 1/4" of air that serves as insulation is not too effective. Specifically, if you fill it with ice cubes and cold water, it will be room temperature in less than a couple of hours. So if that's all you need, you'll be happy, but if you want your drink to stay cold longer, look elsewhere.

One other thing to be aware of if you use ice cubes is that you must use VERY SMALL cubes. This is because the straw must have a clear path down to the bottom of the bottle, and large cubes prevent that; thus, the top cannot be screwed on.

On the plus side, the plastic feels great, the mouthpiece is easy to use, and the carry handle is handy.
Beautiful bottle, but weird taste.
November 28, 2015
I ordered the hibiscus-colored bottle, which in person looks more solid purple than the image depicts if you're indoors. It looks like the picture if you're under bright light, so sunlight should be adequate.

The bottle is gorgeous and easy to drink from. The only issue is that I've washed the bottle with warm water and soap as instructed for first use, and ran water through the bite valve a couple times already, but there's still this weird chemical taste when I take a sip of water after the bottle has been sitting around for a few hours. But it tastes fine right after I fill the bottle up with new water, the taste just comes back. I don't have this issue with another bottle I own so I don't think it's my pipes. This bottle has pretty good reviews so I don't understand what's up.

I've only had the bottle for about a week but have left it unused at this point, the taste is just too bothersome. It's kind of like pool water.

I really loved it at first
July 27, 2015
Used this bottle for about 2 years now. I really loved it at first, worked really well, held a good seal, was able to take it hiking and in the car no problems. I eventually started using it in the car more often and realized that if the temperature got even a little warm the water would come up the straw and leak all over the car. Have had to replace the bite valve about 3 times already because it gets very gross and is hard to thoroughly clean, also the bite valves break/ wear down over time. At this point in time the bottle holds a very poor seal and leaks anytime it tips over, can't put it in a backpack or everything will get soaked.

Long story short: worked perfect at first, now leaks and have to change the valves every few months. Lasted ~ 2 years.

Meh
October 27, 2017
I thought this thing was supposed to keep your water "ice cold" for hours and it really doesn't. I filled it with cold water and ice, and left for an expedition. After about 2 hours of being in the sun my water was slightly chilled at best, and room temperature by the time I got home. Also it really doesn't fit that much water, especially once you put ice in there.
OK
September 21, 2017
Doesn't keep liquid cold for as long as I would like. It would seem that if you fill it with 50% ice and 50% cold water, you should still have a bit of ice left after a couple of hours, but not so. I don't live in the desert either, Long Beach CA so it is not that hot. Still, it is better than a non-insulated bottle, and it does hold 24 ounces.
... because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water
July 25, 2017
First thing I did was throw the caps these came with in the trash because in comparison to the Podium nozzles they are terrible. Secondly your water, even if you froze the bottles overnight and put ice cubes in at the same time, are room temperature within 20 minutes. It's actually impressive how the insulation seems to have a warming effect while I'm out on rides.Get a lot of compliments on those American flags though.

Looks bad
March 8, 2017
The picture does not do this item justice. The insulation for the bottle is super winkled and it just looks junky. If it's more important to you that you have a cold drink for a long time, this is for you. If it's more important to you to have a nice looking bottle, stay away.
Cheap and works reasonably well
November 2, 2016
This is a pretty good, insulated water bottle; not perfect but again, pretty good.Positives: cheap, nice thumb/hand grip to pull it out of the cage, and acceptable insulation keeping liquids cold.It is very easy to clean, unlike the complex Camel Back model.Negatives: when full, it is hard to get a good draw of liquid. When full of iced liquid the bottle is very stiff.Looking for another one. Any ideas out there?

It definetely sweats kinda dissapointed.
September 16, 2017
The bottle it self is well built as expected from a CamelBak product. Amazon delivered on times as usual.

Insulation will not keep it from condensation see attached pics. I expected to not have to deal with condensation and coasters but this will not work. Might as well buy the .75 eddy since they both sweat.
Works well, great for outdoors, maybe not so great for every day office use
January 4, 2017
I had purchased this mostly because it was double wall insulated and I wanted a bottle that would not sweat if I loaded it up with ice. While I think this is great for the outdoors which I believe is what it is originally intended for, this is not my favorite water bottle for every day use in the office. I do not like how the spout of the bottle requires that you bite it in order for the water to come out of it. There is A straw as well in the bottle so you do not have to turn it up right to use it, but I have since found another bottle that I like more that offers more versatility with the straw inside the bottle. So if you are looking for something to use actively outdoors I think this is great, but again, not my favorite because of the bite spout.
Leaky
October 19, 2015
I initially purchased this water bottle after reading the comments on how it doesn't sweat in your purse and because it was more lightweight than my glass camelbak was. Although this water bottle is insanely cute, it leaks like crazy, and the mouth piece molds easily. The rubber mouth piece is removable and I purchased a bottle brush with small attachments to clean it, however I still could barley keep up on the residue that would linger in the mouth piece making it such a hassle, and unsanitary. Also this bottle scratches really easily, mine has scratch marks all over it just from being in my purse and cars cupholder. The worst part however has been the leaking and the pressure leaking. I live in the mountain in Yosemite and so the mouth piece constantly dribbles water from the pressure out of the mouth piece. I would not suggest this bottle for anyone, but especially anyone spending a lot of times in the mountains.
not as good as older model.
July 9, 2015
I had one of these for years and loved it. It was damaged due to a drop and I needed to purchase another one. This one is not like the original. It sweats and if I put ice in it, it will melt within an hour. My previous one kept things cold for 3-4 hours. Very disappointed that the quality isn't as good as the previous model.
Faulty and Poor Quality
November 6, 2014
I would like it...if it worked. It's brand new and I can't get a drop to come out of the valve. I now have to deal with processing a return or refund through Amazon, make a trip to the post office, and hope that I can get it shipped back overseas for under $15 or I'm out of pocket at no fault of my own. Not happy! I've had Camelbak items in the past and been quite pleased, so for something brand new to simply not work (and I'm not the only one) is quite the disappointment.

Though I love the size of this bottle

Though I love the size of this bottle, it did not keep the water cold as I expected it to.
So So . . .
September 11, 2017
I found that it is hard to get the water out of the bottle as compared to other generic type of water bottles. The other issue I found was that the water had a 'plastic' taste to it. Not sure whether this was because it was new or not.
Not as described by reviewers
August 17, 2017
After reading the many reviews, I order this Polar Insulated Bottle. The reviews stated "the liquid stays cold and the container does not sweat". Well, the liquid didn't stay cold even a few hours with ice in it and the bottle did sweat. I will be returning this item.
Not satisfied
August 16, 2017
Comfortable easy grip bottle, firm no leak cap, but not happy with the ability to keep drink cold. Insulated is a joke, non insulated is as good.
I suggest finding a different bottle
January 27, 2016
Unfortunately I’m not thrilled about his bottle. I was hoping this would work great for keeping my water cool on hot summer bike rides in the Utah desert, especially after reading so many positive reviews. To be fair, the insulation is decent. Don’t expect anything INCREDIBLE, but it is noticeably better than a simple plastic water bottle. Unfortunately that’s the extent of my notable positives with this bottle. Here are my two main gripes:1. The screw-on top worked great for the first month or so, but after that it started to leak. At first I thought the drips were just from excess water that had found its way around the rim and inside the top when I was filling it up, but after carefully drying the top and the rim, a test proved that the bottle does, indeed leak. I have only hand washed it, so it’s not from the bottle warping in the hot dishwasher.2. My experience differs from others as this bottle doesn’t fit in my standard bicycle water bottle holder. Here’s the one I use: Planet Bike 6.2 mm Welded Aluminum Bicycle Water Bottle Cage. Even using this on my road bike and going over very few bumps I’m constantly having to reach down and readjust it so it doesn’t fall.I’ve heard the Camelbak insulated water bottle works great, although I’ve never used one myself. If I were interested in spending more money, I would probably test that one out. At any rate, I don’t recommend this one.
Can't hold up to Arizona heat
October 2, 2013
I needed an insulated water bottle that could keep water cold in the most extreme of conditions: over-100-degree-F Saturdays in Phoenix, Arizona. This bottle wasn't up to snuff. Water that came directly out of the refrigerator at the time I filled the bottle is, after just one hour, so warm that you can't tell it was ever cooled in the first place. I even put two ice cubes in with the water once just to see if that would slow down the rise in temperature. No such luck: after an hour in the desert heat, the water was as warm as it always is--in fact, as warm as it used to be when I was using a plastic water bottle with NO insulation at all. Isn't insulation supposed to make SOME difference? The stuff in this bottle doesn't. The funny thing is that when I fill my Camelbak backpack with *uncooled* room-temperature water from the tap, and then I fill my Polar bottle with *refrigerated* water (I always take both the Camelbak and the Polar bottle together on my two-hour bike rides), after an hour or two of riding in the sun, the water in the Camelbak tastes much cooler than the water in the Polar bottle...even though the latter was originally refrigerated and the former was not! So a backpack that is *not* expressly designed to keep water cool actually keeps it cooler than an insulated bottle that *is* designed to keep it cool. I think I'd better keep looking for a better bottle. This one failed the test.

Warps in dishwasher
October 24, 2017
I used to really like Camelbak's, but I have had two of them warp in my dishwasher recently. Maybe they changed the formula to be BPA free, but this never used to happen. The steam in a dishwasher is the best way to fully clean water bottles like this, but they should be able to handle it.

I knew you had to bite the straw to drink from this water bottle but thought it still would work fine but upon arrival, I found this was a real inconvenience. It definitely is not like drinking from a regular straw. I was willing to give this product a chance but, only after a month, it is no longer usable. I can't get the liquid from the bottle even if it tip it up. I probably have used it less than a dozen times because of my dislike for it but this morning I decided to try it again. This time I was unable to use it at all. There was plenty of water in the bottle but the straw was not working.CamelBak Eddy Insulated Water Bottle, Hibiscus, .6-Liter
Pretty color but don't waste your money if you want cold water
May 30, 2016
It says it is insulated, but the ice melts rather quickly. I am not a big fan of having to bite the mouth piece and suck the water water out of the straw and it leaks. Plus, I added some watermelon juice to water, and now I can't get rid of that flavor. It doesn't hold a lot of water either. I much prefer my Hydro flask with the flip to straw lid. It holds 32 ounces of water and the ice is still ice 12 hours later. Sorry just my honest opinion.
It leaks, often.
May 19, 2016
I wanted to like this bottle, but I can't. It does a great job at keeping the contents cold and it is durable. But it leaks! As pressure builds up inside the bottle due to the air expanding as it warms, it forces water out of the drinking spout. This is not an issue with the valve as this is designed to allow air into the bottle but here in lies the problem. The valve does not allow air to escape out of the bottle.Pros: Keeps contents cold for hours.Cons: Leaks as soon as there is an air-gap in the bottle, water spews out of the spout.I cannot recommend this bottle.
Poor design
March 4, 2016
Not sure if everyone has this problem with camelbaks, but mine leaks like crazy. It seems random too, sometimes it holds water fine, and other times I can turn it upside down and get a steady stream coming out of it. Also, the insulated bottle is pretty much useless. It doesn't seem to keep cold beverages cold longer than any other type of water bottle. After trying it a few times a week for a couple of months, I finally gave up and bought a Nalgene. Booo camelbak.

Horrible
October 3, 2017
This is actually the worst insulated bottle I have ever had. I filled it with ice and refrigerated tea and set out on some errands. It's a cool day, only in the low 60s, and ALL of the ice had completely melted in less than 2 hours. By hour 3 my drink was no longer even cool. I did not leave it sitting in the sun either. I will stick with Hydro Flask, more expensive but totally worth it.
Another inferior water bottle
October 3, 2017
This bottle has been leaking where the cover meets the bottle. Thought it just needed the cover to be readjusted and sometimes it seemed ok but other times it would leak and sometimes a lot. Very disappointed especially since the return window is closed and it took me this long to realize it's the bottle and not the way I'm putting the cover on. I will add it to my graveyard of water bottles. ☹️
Former fan of these
September 26, 2017
I've used these for years and have loved them. Eventually after years, the water began to taste strange, and I would order another. I recently bought another and in only a couple of months, with not very heavy use, the water is undrinkable. I won't buy another.
Don't waste your money
September 14, 2017
The red color looks like an aluminum foil wrap over a plastic bottle.... and the wrapping is not smooth or attractive. A bad wrap job and it makes the bottle look cheap. As far as cooling... doesn't keep a drink cold, even with ice cubes for more than an hour. Don't waste your money if you really want an insulated drink bottle that will keep your drink cold for longer than an hour. Disappointed.
Don't waste your money on this one

Plastic film between two layers of plastic tumbler. Pic looks better than in person. Does not insulate.
Not worth the hype
June 12, 2017
It doesn't keep your liquid contents cold for more than an hour and if you put ice in it I guarantee you it will sweat rivers. The bottle is difficult to drink from as well unless you want to stand there letting it drip the contents into your mouth a half teaspoon at a time you have to suck it out or squeeze the bottle hoping it regains its shape after. Also unless you screw down the lid with all you might it will leak under the lid.
