Five Star Reviews: | 60% Have now used the juicer a few times and I love it. Nice to be able to control how ... September 14, 2017 Had a problem getting container off the base and the seller promptly replaced it. Have now used the juicer a few times and I love it. Nice to be able to control how much pulp you would like to have, and also having the ability to use the smaller reamer for limes is great. The container pours well. Love this Juicer March 24, 2017 A great juicer. I've only used it with lemons so far, but I'm going to get lots of oranges and have fresh squeezed orange juice. Proctor Silex 66331 Alex's Lemonade Stand Citrus Juicer June 27, 2014 I purchased this juicer for my five year old grandson, who believe it or not, loves to make juice in the morning. My son tells me it works great, is strong, & is a big hit in their home. I'm sorry I didn't see this juicer when I bought one for more than double the amount. Perfect for me February 20, 2014 Love this juicer. Makes it easier since I have arthritis. It's a little noisy but I can live with that. | 61% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 19% It does a great job on the smaller citrus like lemons June 11, 2017 As advertised! If you'll be making lemonade or limeade, this lil juicer is for you! It does a great job on the smaller citrus like lemons, limes, and very small oranges. Easy to use, easy to clean, and gives a great yield of juice. If you're like me and you juice up a 10lb bag of large oranges and/or grapefruits on a regular basis, this thing is a bit underpowered. I'll be upgrading to a Breville soon, but plan to keep this anyway. It's a great bargain and very easy to use. I bought this one to replace the one I bought ... May 3, 2017 I bought this one to replace the one I bought when I went overseas. It seems to be the same type but built flimsier. Time will tell if it's strong enough to hold up. I figured I'd give it a try since part of the proceeds go towards cancer research. Useful in the Kitchen - And it's Cute! January 22, 2017 I have a friend with a Meyer lemon tree who is very generous with his yearly harvest. I can only juice a few lemons by hand at any given time, so I decided to buy this. I love it! The only drawback is that I don't like pulp, and there is no way to completely strain citrus pulp, even with a good strainer. This does a good job of keeping the seeds and large pulp chunks out. I used it for about the fourth time today, and froze 16 ounces of lemon juice for future use, and have about 4-5 oz in the fridge - I use lemon juice in my water on a daily basis. I still haven't gotten through the first batch of lemons I was given! I also juiced four HUGE oranges a couple of weeks ago, and got over 12 oz of juice from them. Even on the lowest pulp setting, the juice was almost chewy for me, but I'm not a pulp fan at all. I actually liked the pulpy juice! No purchased juice can taste nearly as good as freshly squeezed juice! I just bought just over 5 pounds of oranges to juice. I just take it slowly and clean off the reamer when dry pulp gets stuck to it. So far, this works better for lemons than oranges for me, but the four oranges I did juice were the size of grapefruits! I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use from this nifty little Lemonade Stand so I don't have to purchase lemon juice when Meyer lemons are out of season. I would much rather have fresh frozen juice to use all year round! The one star was deducted because I have to strain the lemon juice before I can use it the way I want to. Helpful Product--- Great for Children December 4, 2016 We moved to a new home with lots of citrus trees. I was very excited to have fresh OJ for breakfast which prompted the purchase. The juicer is perfect for making a few glasses of OJ daily or juicing lemons for a recipe. I would not recommend for processing gallons of juice as it does not seem sturdy enough nor fast enough for that quantity. The quality of the juice was very good as you could easily control/ observe the fruit and assure that you were not including any of the pith. The pitcher was handy to contain the juice. Cleanup was easy. I washed by hand which did not take long. It was a great little time for children. They love using the juicer and preparing helping with preparation. Pretty good , especially for the price November 20, 2016 Works fairly well. Has auto reverse, although I have no idea what prompts it when to reverse. It seems to reverse whenever it feels like it. Sometimes it hangs up reversing and just sits there going back and forth not knowing what to do. It makes me wonder how long it will last, but I've done several gallons of orange juice so far and it still works. It's very highly rated for the amount of juice you can get from it. It really wrings those citrus out. Easy to cleanOnly drawback is it's pretty brittle plastic. We dropped the clear canister on the floor and it shattered. I glued it back together and it is still liquid tight, so we keep using it. We also bought a second one because for the price and trouble of getting a new canister we decided it was simpler to just order a whole new unit. Also, when we first got it, I took it apart to wash it. The pulp filter part never would snap back in properly. Since I prefer lots of pulp, we just left that part out and it works fine. If you like less pulp, you may not be happy with it, unless the pulp filter parts works better on yours than it did on ours.Still, for the price, you can't beat it Well rounded juicer, good value! September 6, 2015 I bought this to start juicing some of the lemons in my backyard and it hasn't disappointed me, although I wasn't thrilled about the color at first (just got used to it). I can make the right amount of pressure without breaking or stopping the motor and it will get all the juice from the lemons or limes with no effort from me. The pulp control dialer works as expected and I put all the parts in the dishwasher with no problems. The dialer has two parts that can be separated to clean, but it could be easier. Overall, great product for it's cost!On the low side: I wish the chord was a bit longer and that the juicer cover would also serve as a lid for the pitcher to keep it in the fridge with the juice. | 19% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 6% It would also be nice if it would churn more smoothly but I digress June 28, 2017 Gets the job done. Wish it was a bit more quiet. Clear lid is pointless. It would also be nice if it would churn more smoothly but I digress. Three Stars May 18, 2017 Came with a broken handle, didn't bother sending it back as I needed it. Okay otherwise that. Effective juicer but poor build quality May 5, 2017 Pros:Faster than a hand juicerEasy to use and cleanCons:Built of thin plastic- does not feel remotely solid or durableWeak electric motor - very low torque. The motor bogged down while juicing a grapefruit and applying barely more pressure than the weight of my arm. Every time it bogs down it reverses direction to make up for the lack of torque. That *kind of* works but in one grapefruit it completely bogged down several times. Overall not suitable for grapefruitsSlow - can't be much more than 75 RPM.Operation is noisySounds like you can hear gears grinding - not a refined machine, or something that sounds like it will last.In summary, I bought this because an online article supposedly did a test in person and ranked this #1. I will probably return for something with a higher torque motor and better build quality. It's good, kinda hard to clean July 8, 2016 The machine should be used by anyone who doesn't benchpress over 100 lbs. It's good, kinda hard to clean. If you're constantly using it for several minutes there might be a smell that comes from it. My BF broke it after he pushed down too hard. I saw it coming but all else said, I wouldn't recommend it unless it was for light work. OK for the money, but tiring and noisy. March 7, 2016 For the money, it does the job. Whether it is value for money though, I don't know. Probably not. It is extremely noisy, so the larger the room you will use it, the better. I also find that it takes a long time for it to juice a single half-fruit. My previous method was non-electric, i.e. by hand, and it would take about half the time, if not even less. But then my wrist would get tired. Here, my legs get tired because for three oranges, I have to stand for quite a while right after waking up. So overall, in two minds about this! | 10% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% had to return it September 10, 2017 I returned it as I was not happy with noise and was not sturdy enough for me My 30 year + Braun works better than this brand new March 27, 2017 Cheap and noisy. My 30 year + Braun works better than this brand new...and has more power Loud operating noise, Weak motor. January 2, 2017 This machine motor is severely under powered, pushing the orange down with slight force will trigger the spinner to stop working and reverse direction. Pushing down a bit harder will cause the spinner to stop altogether. I had a similarly designed but much stronger Salton juicer that lasted 10 yrs, was $10 from 10 yrs ago. This machine is also very loud when in operation. I expect this machine to not last over 1 yr if I use it the same way as my Salton machine. Had I not threw the box away, I would return this unit. This is not that great of a juicer October 4, 2016 This is not that great of a juicer. It doesn't get all of the pulp from lemons, oranges and limes like my other brand does. Personally, I don't like that you juice in the container. It comes in handy for big jobs, but if you just want a glass of fresh OJ in the morning it's a lot to clean just for 1 orange. Good idea, but bad design/quality... July 2, 2016 Worked fine for the first three months. After that it doesn't even rotate properly and is 10 times louder when compared to initial three months. Ended up using it with out plugging in... Also the pulp control design is bad as cleaning it is a mess. Only used it after removing the bottom tray of pulp control. Not worth it August 22, 2015 Just look for something else - not a great juicer - is doing the job ...for a while...but is very loud, you really have to press the fruit, after a short while the central part that spins stopped engaging the assembly and because I had a lot of lemons cut in half, i improvised and I've wrapped a string around that spinning center (I had some from amazon for wearing a USB or any small gadgets around you neck). I don't recommend it! | 5% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 9% Lasted less than two months. August 8, 2017 Purchased this item on June 8, 2017. Two pieced of fruit a day most days. One orange and one grapefruit. Ok at first, but got so it just wouldn't turn. I am ready to smash it with a sledge hammer. Good thing I didn't order one of those yet. Love the juice. Hate this juicer. Not Recommended. May 28, 2017 Absolute JUNK. And I mean don't buy. Not a true citrus juicer. Very low power motor and the work load burns out the motor. Replacement came in and also starts smelling like the electric component not working well March 3, 2017 First one stopped working during first use. Replacement came in and also starts smelling like the electric component not working well. And not even using for 5 minutes. Returned it. I had the orginal before and it never did that even with bigger batch to juice. Didn't last long. June 4, 2016 After @ 30 uses, it has started to make a horrible clacking sound. I suspect it will at some point soon stop working all together. If an appliance can't survive a year, it's a failure, IMHO. The only reason I'm not giving it a 1 star, is because it helps a great Kid's Cancer cause. It finally died after another 15 uses. I bought the juicer attachment for my kitchenaid table mixer to replace this unit, and it seems to be indestructible. Yes, the kitchenaid juicer attachment is more than the price of this little yellow juicer but it's likely what I should have done first. The Proctor Silex is a nice idea and helps a good cause, but in the end is one more piece of plastic for landfill. ... would have to say that it was a very nice product. Unfortunately I cannot give it 5 stars ... April 20, 2015 Over all information would have to say that it was a very nice product. Unfortunately I cannot give it 5 stars for a few reasons.1. It's not strong enough I felt like if I put pressure on the lemon I would brake it. Even when my 4yr old would do it, if he put pressure it would stop moving.2. It's definitely not dishwasher safe. Not sure if it said it was but I just assumed it was. And yep it wasn't it changed the shape of the container.3. literally only used it maybe 5 to 7 times and now it just doesn't spin right. like I said in the beginning it didn't feel strong but it worked. But now it turns for like a second then stop.I just feel like I should have definitely invested a lil more money on a better one. | 5% There are no reviews yet |
