This keyboard is the bomb dot com. Love, Love, Love it!!!! Use it with my Toshiba Encore 2, and it fits PERFECTLY!!! I almost didn't buy it because of some of the reviews, but if you're on the fence like I was, BUY IT! You WON'T be disappointed. I am not an employee for this seller or the manufacturer, and I was not PAID for this review, but I mos def think this is a GREAT CASE and KEYBOARD for the Encore 2. It works just like a mini laptop now. :-)

May 29, 2016
I've had this Tablet for 6 months now with the keyboard that extends the battery life. I've used it heavily for educational purposes only. I've been doing a lot of drafting and word processing with this device and it never disappointed me once. It's portable and very user friendly. Battery life is amazing. I would recommend this as a entry level device for college students who are on the go all the time.
Great Tablet!

A great tablet with the power of a laptop. If you're looking for a portable solution to a laptop or desktop without sacrificing power or functionality, this is the tablet for you.... and the price can't be beat!
Perfect Addition & Just What We Needed!

I purchased two of these "refrubed" tablets for inventory purposes at work. They performed just as expected and were the perfect addition to our IT infrastructure.

Best tablet for $350. Period
July 31, 2015
The tablet I received was the security edition and it was in pristine shape with charger still having it's plastic protection on it. If you are looking for a solid windows 8 tablet that can deliver good performance with really good battery life, this is it. I did have some initial issues with the touchpad but a quick visit to Dell's website took care of that.Things I like1. Fast2. Good storage space3. Decent amount of Ram for a tablet4. Display is nice and bright with good color and viewing angles5. Expandability via docking station6. Weight vs. Power7. Responsiveness of touchscreen8. It can be upgraded to Windows 109. Facial recognition10. Fingerprint readerThings I do not like1. cannot easily expand storage if you need to, got to ship it back to Dell2. battery life is on the short side of you crank up the brightness.Overall this is the best tablet you can get given what you get for your money. Since Windows 10 is available, I would highly recommend installing it on this tablet. You can download the MS Windows 10 Media creation tool and go from there. On a side note,In order to get all of the software available via My Dell Downloads, you will have to transfer the ownership of the device to your Dell account. You WILL need your proof of purchase as the automated system will ask you for previous owner information and you are not going to have it. This will require you to call Dell
Have been very happy with Dell in the past and was impressed again
May 11, 2015
I am not a technical genius by any means. (Baffles me why I'm writing this) First time using a tablet. Once you get use to using it verses a desktop, it is very user friendly. Very compact. I ordered the key board since I am not use to a touchpad. The benefit of that is it doubles your battery since the key board has a battery in it also. Have been very happy with Dell in the past and was impressed again.

Solidly built, better performance than most Windows tablets; good screen and video, decent touch, able to do real work (which I is why I got it). Only criticism is that battery did not last as long as I hoped . . .
I'd give this Tablet 5 stars today, but not ...
January 13, 2016
I'd give this Tablet 5 stars today, but not out of the box, how this device can be "certified refurbished," and yet have such an early version of Bios (A11) is beyond me? My unit was plagued by freezing issues as reported when these Tablets first came out ~2013, and I tried some of the weird fixes to no avail. The Dell online detection tool rightly detected I needed a Bios update but only would download the wrong version that wouldn't install. I finally found the correct version manually and installed (A16)...Wow what a difference! Haven't had a hiccup in days and I'm wildly impressed with the horsepower, As a tech I've put it through some personal tests and it's now upgraded to Win 10 and still running flawlessly.
I really liked the product
November 13, 2015
I really liked the product. The screen was crisp and clear at 1080p. The processor and 128Gb SSD make it snappy and powerful. The microSD card slot allows easy storage expandability. The processor does run hot, hence the need for an internal fan to cool it, so there are two slots in the top edge, one for intake and the other for exhaust. This exhaust gets very warm, but not hot enough to burn. This tablet was fine, it worked as advertised and was a great value refurbished! I had a preference related problem with it that turned out to be the deal breaker. So I decided to return. The problem for me was the presence and noise of the cooling fan. Although it was not that loud, not any more so than a laptop, I needed a tablet for use in librarys and other quiet spaces. I was expecting a passive cooling solution not an internal fan! This is the first Tablet I've seen a fan inside, so it did not occur to me it would have one. I'm sure there are other tablets that have them, I just haven't seen any. Personally if I wanted something so powerful that it needed a fan to cool it I would have bought a laptop. A tablet for me must be silent or it's not an option. I didn't see anything about this before purchasing, luckily amazon refunded the purchase, I did have to pay $10 shipping it back. The other ting I did not like was that it required a proprietary charger. I prefer to charge via microUSB because they're ubiquitous now. I have them lying around at work, home, and etc so I don't have to carry around a charger with me everywhere. With micro USB I can charge my Cell phone and tablet at work and leave the charger there. This proprietary charging port would require me to buy another charger that would only work for this one device. On the other hand, it leaves the microUSB port open while charging so you can plug in your peripherals. I do like that aspect. So again It's about preference.I would recommend this tablet if you can put up with the above. Hey, for you they may be positives, if you want the power of an i5 and don't mind the fan or Dell's charger, then by all means get it. I thought seriously about keeping it and putting up with the issues because it was such a great value. So don't let my preferences dissuade you from buying, just be informed and make a better buying decision than I did.
Awesome.

Great product. Upgraded to Windows 10. Small and portable. A bit heavy when paired with the battery keyboard.
Hate the back cover
April 10, 2015
I like the size, comfortable to hold and use. Great sound, much better than I expected. No problems running any applications I have used. The problem is the back/battery cover. I removed it to check underneath and now I can not get it to reconnect correctly. I have spent more than an hour trying to get the cover to stay on correctly. I'm returning it because of this as I really can't use it this way. I had such high hopes.
So far I like this unit because you get a tablet with Windows ...
March 11, 2015
By DaledeI purchased mine from eBay as a refurbished unit with 90day Dell warranty. So far I like this unit because you get a tablet with Windows 8.1 Professional, which allows you to install your word processor, music software or other Windows software etc. Unlike Windows 8.1 RT you can only install programs from the Windows App store. The tablet has a mini HDMI output so connect this to your computer monitor or your flat screen TV.Blue tooth so you can connect your keyboard and mouse.USB 3 fast connection for external drives. One down fall I do a lot of music recording so to do that you will need a USB 3 hub because there is only one USB 3 connection and an external sound card my choice the Behringer U-Control UCA222.Now the downside:This tablet has a bumpy history but this did not scare me away because first mine was refurbished so I felt confident the hardware was tested and or updated. Next from the reviews I read people were having problems with the touch screen, WIFI disconnecting and docking issues. This sounded like device driver issues to me so I did the following.1. First plug in the charger and let the unit charge fully.2. Connect to your WIFI network and by following the Windows login procedure you will need either a hotmail account or Outlook account.3. Update Windows 8.1 OS with ALL Microsoft updates and restart. Go back and check for any missed updates and install them.4. Go to the dell web site and start updating all the drivers at http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04 You can use Auto-detect or select by product model number etc. Start with the bios driver first follow there instructions warning close all programs and make sure the tablet is plugged in to the power adaptor. When bios is updating DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING wait for the prompt screen and follow it’s directions. If this does not load properly you will end up with a brick.5. Now update the WIFI, touch screen and other drivers.6. This whole procedure will take a while but well worth it in the end.7. One thing to disable is the “Adaptive Brightness” function. Windows 8.1 will adjust the brightness of the display based on how much light is reaching the tablet's ambient light sensor. The screen would dim then get brighter I bet Dell had a lot of returns because of this idea. If you are using the Windows Modern User Interface (MUI) Metro: 1. Swipe from the right and touch Settings. 2. Touch Change PC Settings. 3. On the PC Settings screen, touch PC and Devices. 4. Touch Power and sleep. 5. At the top of the screen will be a toggle for Brightness. Slide the toggle to the Off position to disable adaptive brightness.User level expert I do customer service support on hardware and software and I am beta testing Windows 10 at this time.

Stay away from this piece of garbage.
January 19, 2016
This thing is absolute garbage. Constantly freezes and reboots itself, when it freezes, you have to pull the battery and then it wont turn on for 10-20 minutes. When it does work, it throttles the cpu/gpu to the point where it is slower than my 10 year old laptop.I am staying away from any of Dell's tablet offerings for good, and I recommend everyone else does the same.
Don't buy from Issaquah Highlands Tech
November 27, 2015
When I bought the Dell tablet, I experienced issues concerning the speed of processing tasks. It did not run very smooth from the beginning, but I thought it is normal. Mainly, I used the tablet for skyping with my friends and family. But after 3 months use the tablet didn't turn on at all. Because my table is "Certified Refurbished", I contacted the Issaquah Highlands Tech where I purchased the Dell product. Issaquah Highlands Tech denied returning the tablet with the explanation of being too late for the return period. Their return period is supposed to be the time to see if you like the product, not the time for check if it break or not. Dell Venue 11 maybe a good product. But don't buy Issaquah Highlands Tech's "certified refurbished" product!

Not for me

I ended up returning it. Windows 10 upgrade was a mistake. Speakers would work sometimes and others not. Keyboard took up half the screen. Just wasn't what I wanted. All I was able to do successfully was play some games.

Arrived with charger problem and then was inoperable within 48 hours. I am disappointed, but will reorder the same product and hope for better results. Note: during the short time I was able to use the product it did seem to be first rate.
Don't buy this from Amazon!
August 29, 2015
I was super excited for this, but it would not turn on until we held the volume down + power buttons together, then it went through this weird set up. Now Windows 8 won't update.Update 10.25.15Tablet won't wake up from sleep mode. It shuts off completely if you plug or unplug it from the keyboard. I have to hard start it every time to wake it up. This seller would not respond to my emails so I could not return it within the time period. By the time I thought about contacting Amazon directly about the issue, it was TWO DAYS out of their expiration period. Dell won't talk to me. I can't even get in contact with anybody to be calm about the issue. Nobody will respond on the chat, and both time I calmly spoke to a representative on the phone letting them know the issues with the device and waiting for them to help me, they hung up on me while "transferring me."Bottom line: Don't bother. Or if you do, purchase from the Microsoft Store or Best Buy where you can take it in and speak to real people.
