I have a plastic chopper that I have owned for the past 20 years. It was falling apart so I replaced it with the sturdier metal one. I had absolutely no problem with the plastic one but it just was wearing out. I expect the metal one to last my lifetime.

Great chopper for use on onions, garlic, etc. In place the parts in the dishwasher and reassemble. That's all.

I bought this to mainly chop up celery and onion very fine for sauteing and soups. It does the job very well and I am pleased with the product.

This is a fantastic item to have. It doesn't hold much to chop but it works. It's light weight so you can travel with it.Easy to clean and wash. I love it. Buy it and be happy!! :)

I had a Pampered Chef chopper and used it all the time - but it seemed to break easily. This one seems sturdier. Love it!

Works fine for me. I like using it on top my cutting board after removing the bottom as it suggested.

Very small and efficient. Perfect if you want to chop small chunks of veggies. I use it to chop up veggies for my finches, the result is a mush fine enough for their tiny beaks. I'd imagine it's perfect for salsa, etc.

This is a nice unit. Chops well and the way it works by pressing the lid handle down is clever. It is also cat proof unless you just let it lying around which is good. I have two crazy kitties and I wouldn't want them to get hurt. They eat my pills if I leave the cap off and they get all goofy. This chopper is well worth the 15 bucks or so.

Does what it is supposed to do

B&D changed the design by putting a single switch and reducing the overall size of the motor, but it seems to work just as well as the old one we had to replace. It had worked for many years. Hope this one works as well. So far, so good.

Good little machine. Use it a lot. Oddly difficult to figure out how to use first time or two -- maybe it's just me, I've never had a food processor before -- but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. Works well, easy to clean. Perfect for a small bachelor kitchen.

Good chopper. My last was a Cuisinart ,I beat it to death after about three years.

chops food keep fingers out of it. sturdy and the blade rotates as it comes down. It does a great job.

Works great disassemble easy but harder to put back together

It chops with the best of them. A little harder toi clean than the one advertised on TV that opens like a shell. The metal construction easily makes up for that.

I need to figure out how to remove blade to clean. Haven't done that yet. Instruction with package didn't really help much. Other then that, I've been using everyday for one week and it works as expected.

This does exactly what I ordered it for. Really chops up the vegetables as I expected it to do and saves my having to cut things up with my paring knife. It is for me easy to clean.

REVISED: After 2 months, my BandD food chopper bit the bullet.I hoped it would last longer, but for $9.22 and free shipping ... how can I complain.I'm going to try the Ninja unit .. It's $19. but I could buy 10 of these units where in the pastI might have purchased a hundred dollar machine. So I took down one star for longetivity ...This Item cost me $ 9.22. I have the Ultra Bullet ... I have the Ninja Blender ..... I have a vitamix ... but this 10 dollar (yep .. 10 dollar) baby is what I use the most. I make hummus, peanut butter acai bowls and banana ice cream (made out of frozen bananas) ..... and it's a jiffy to clean (which is why I prefer it). I have to admit, I expected it to break after the first few uses, but this thing is a little powerhouse .... Gets some used to putting the top on perfect or it won't start, but that's for your safety.BTW: Did I mention the free shipping ?

A bit smaller than I realized. But it works like a charm! Have used it nearly 3 hours straight while preparing several meals at a time. Boy did this save me lots time and energy chopping!!!Even my older kids love to use this! Very simple to use and wash!

A little flimsy but it works. Thought I would use it a lot more. It's small so it doesn't take up a lot of room and you're not lifting a big heavy item from your cupboards. It's actually perfect for parsley and small herbs. Very good for herbs and spices that go into making sauces and dressings. I probably wouldn't try anything too heavy in here like hummus. 4 stars as I wish it had been better quality plastic. But I like it ok.

I have a disability wit my hands. I bought this because I can't handle small things every well. This worked quite nice scambling eggs, chopping garlic, or celery... etc. But it is a little tough for me to turn the top to the lock position. Wish it was a bit larger for easy grip.And the cord is just a bit too short.

Got on a sale deal for like $15 as opposed to the $70 something that it's marked for retail. This price is acceptable. Good for more of a minced type of chop as opposed to more chunky. Compact size and easy to clean!

Doesn't chop as clean as the pampered chef chopper and noisier... has a metal type clanking sound. I'll keep it for now...see how it holds up to use...

This is a replacement chopper and so far we like it with the exception of how the pieces go back together. Hopefully the newness will wear off and the parts will fit together more easily. The chopping is great.

The rotation of the chopper broke after about 5 uses. Hard to clean.

I wanted to purchase this to chop small things like onion, nuts, cilantro, etc. It does chop fine, but more stuff gets stuck on the blade then ends up in the tray.

Quality build, similar to the original slap chop, but honestly it turns the veggies to mush, unlike the name brand slap chop. Similar in design but not sure why this nice looking product mush's the veggies?

Had a chopper from the fancy part company. This one pales in comparison. Would have returned it, but had already carted it off to goodwill.

Bought Black & Decker again because loved my old one HOWEVER this one has problem: the cutter attachment is not sealed from the good i.e., blending any LIQUID means the food/liquid gets under and into the cone and spills out onto the unit and your counter if you lift the cutting segment out with liquid still in it and is VERY difficult to clean. Great for grinding dry things like nuts but DON'T BUY THIS MODEL if you plan to use it for anything liquid!

Got this to replace another I had of the same model. This one doesn't seem to be as sturdy, and power switch doesn't work well. Blade tends to chop onions to a pulp.

Seems like a toy. I purchased a Black & Decker small food processor that lasted 30 years till I dropped it and broke off the activation pin. This doesn't come anywhere near the quality of that unit. The chopping blade attachment looks cheesy.

it works well, BUT, i find it takes me forever just to get it lined up and locked. It is sometimes so frustrating that i just bought another one from a different company. Putting this one away for emergency only

I feel like I really have to struggle with this thing to get it to make guacamole. It's small and highly inexpensive, so for some it's probably worth the battle, but I ended up buying a larger one.

I got this at a very affordable price. The bowl/mixer/lid all come apart for easy cleaning. But food gets stuck up inside the white middle part of blade and Its difficult to remove. I feel there's a flaw or more in the design. It Is a real pain in the butt aligning the lid up perfectly so Itll start. You have to get It exactly right where the dot lines up. I thought something was wrong with mine at first but It was just that. It chops food very fine, maybe a little too much sometimes even. Its loud for a small chopper, louder than another Ive had.

Does not chop food, it all gets stuck inside and then you almost cut yourself trying to get the food out. I returned right away.

I bought this to chop my red onions faster, cutting down the amount of time my eyes were being assaulted.Haha..........nope.-First off, you gotta hit this thing hard. Like, harder than Whack-A-Mole! Even then, the blades won't go through all the way.-Next, the blades are so dull that this thing ended up crushing the onions instead of chopping them, which pressed out more onion juice than just cutting them with a knife.-So now I have a tomato-less, cilantro-free, no-pepper-added pico de gallo. Fine, as long as I can still see.-Now, I open the bottom to dump them into the pan, and ALL of the pent up onion scent comes rushing out like a glitter bomb from a coworker. As each second passes, the tears fill my eyes and my vision starts to lose clarity. But because the blades didn't cut all the way through, I have to get a knife out and do what I bought this thing to do!-The cutting board's now filled with what looks like a scene from Game of Thrones. I don't even know if I cut everything up because I can't see at this point, but I finally dump everything into the pot.All done, right??? ...........nooooooo...........-I go to clean this thing, and there's onion juice and onion pieces all up past the "blade guard" (that's a story for another day). I now look like I just got done watching "P.S. I Love You" while trying not to slice my fingers on the blades.....should've just used a knife in the first place. This is another one of those "kitchen gadgets" that works great in theory but lacks in execution.Only gave it 2 stars because it was shiny.

Love the sleek look, but after just a few uses, the blades no longer turn. I did not live up to its end of the bargain. Bummer. Guess that is why there is such a high percentage of negative reviews. I'd rather have ugly that works then sleek in the garbage.

A great design, but it broke after just a few uses. I was,disappointed.

I assumed it was quality based on the Cuisinart brand. Bad assumption. Pretty flimsy. I attempted to use it for making bruschetta, but the blades are not sharp enough to cut through tomato skins.

It's not great at turning while chopping. I usually just turn the device myself. Normal operation for those unaware is for the blades to drop and turn when ascending into the handle. They are then pushed back down in a different spot to chop the contents appropriately.

I absolutely love this chopper, BUT the blade assembly is garbage. The chopper: perfect size to chop up small amounts of stuff, and it does a good job. My first one, I received for Christmas as a gift. Maybe about 6 months in, the black plastic cracked where it holds in one of the blades. Hoping it was just a one-time thing, I ordered the same model, with "improved assembly." This one cracked after 6 *weeks* of use, in the same exact spot (return period: 4 weeks, sigh). The culprit seems to have been dried cherries, nothing crazy-difficult to chop.

We were excited to replace our trusty old version of this food chopper, but so disappointed by the new design and less powerful motor. If we had not missed the return window, we would have sent ours back. What this is good for -- chopping very small amounts of food. Very small amounts. Maybe the larger one is better. I miss the old design, which was easier to use and clean, in my opinion.

It stopped working after a few months... Black & Decker is a great appliance company to which I have many of their appliances, but this one dropped.

Works OK but has few issues:1) The lid has to be aligned in a particular way when you close. If you do not the lid will get stuck and takes time and effort to dislodge2) It broke after 9 months

I liked it just fine until it broke. I got this at the end of December last year and have used it less than twice a week since then. The small piece on the lid that tells the unit that the cover is on (and therefore OK to turn on) broke off. There's no way to fix it...and now no way to use it.

Dont buy this blender unless you are a weight lifter. It takes a lot of hand strenth to close and open the lid and even more to remove the cup for cleaning. So if you have any rheumatism in your hands this is not the blender for you even though it does a good job of chopping. Also for extented chopping needs you must keep continual pressure on the start button. Other blands have a hold feature. I would not buy this model.

Really doesn't work like I wanted, not large enough and food gets stuck in blades. Wouldn't purchase it again.

This product was very dull, it could not chop garlic. I would not waste your money!

It worked one or two times. Thereafter, the chopper would not rotate as it cut. Stopped using it. We wasted our money on this product

This was truly a waste of $ and I was unable to return it because I threw away the packing. I have tried to make it work but the blades fall out constantly, they cut very little and aren't at all sharp as the advertisement suggests and when I push down, it comes down ridiculously slow. I am going to buy an electric one which is probably what I should have done from the beginning!

After a few tries the item which is supposed to turn after each push is not working this I have to constantly twist the entire unit prior to hitting it again to avoid items not being chopped properly. Even then some items which stick to the outside remain whole and not chopped up

The first time I used it, it did great. Went to use it for Thanksgiving prep for celery and onion and it failed. First(on celery) it went up and down but not around. Then on the onion, it just went down and stayed there. and the bottom kept falling off.BEWARE.. FIND ANOTHER ONE

This is not a good product. There is no way to add oil (making salad dressing)without taking the top off plus the power is only engaged when you have the button depressed. Waste of money, already put it in the garage sale bin.

If this is the improved version I’d hate to see its predecessor. Lid easily cracks. Worst of all the blade isn’t reversible and is unable to chop anything finely - it just ends up stuck to the sides.

I purchased this a year ago and it just died on me. Totally not working. Only one year I cant buy it again and use it a year and have it die again. very dissapointed Black and Decker has a good reputation. Not any more. It is true it does take too much time to get it started always lining up everything perfect. Who needs that. No I am going to shop somewhere locally so I can bring it back to them when it doesn't work.

Not fond of the latch system and generally it is going to break.Base is sturdy....motor sounds like a toy.Switch is badly designed.

Very difficult to click in the top so it will run. By the third time I tried to use it the top will not click into the machine so it will not run. Made very cheap

Chopped for two years, but never actually fine chops, just some cutting.After two years of rare use (once every couple of weeks) the plastic cup broke so it became useless. Stay away.
