Perfect for small bookshelf speakers, or to hold rear speakers, as I did.
May 26, 2017
I bought these for a pair of rear-speakers in my 5.1 setup. They were accessories to a remodel of the living room which included a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers. These were perfect for their intended use. The speakers fit perfectly, and the stands set up easily. Definitely use the rubber pads as they firmly hold the speakers in place (but I have the speakers flat, not tilted at any angle). The speakers are just above ear height when seated, as I wanted. The stands will adjust to much higher though. Very happy with these.
Perfect

These speaker stands are just what I wanted "needed" for my new Kanto Yu5's. The stands are sturdy and well built. The stands are also highly adjustable I believe that a 5" bookshelf speaker, like my Kanto Yu5's, is at the limit of this stands capacity.
Great stands.

I love these stands.
Simple, unobtrusive, understated design, that will work in pretty much any room.
They won't turn heads, to be sure. They won't scream "I'm here, look at me!" like some other stands out there tend to do, but their utilitarian nature is exactly what I like about them.
My speakers are probably pushing these stands to their limit weight/size wise (those are Audioengines A5s) but they all work really well together, I must say. The stands are not flimsy by any mesure. I'm also happy to report I didn't have any quality issues with them like some other reviewers had.
Overall, I'm really pleased.
Perfect for the right application...
May 3, 2016
These were perfect for my needs at the price. They are actually quite well made. Do I wish the base was heavier, certainly. Mine sit on a concrete floor which helps. I Imagine more wabble on a carpet. As far as the screws being so tight on the clamps they couldn't be loosened... Well, use a good a proper screwdriver. No problem there. For $40, I am thrilled. Speakers used in my case are Alesis M-1 Actives in a computer setup. They have a moderate amount of heft.
Excellent, sturdy, inexpensive!

Using these on hardwood floors (with the included rubber feet) with Pioneer SP-BS21-LR bookshelf speakers. Dimensions (W x H x D): 7-1/8” x 12-5/8” x 8-1/16”, Weight (each): 8.5 lbs. These speakers make the stands a little top-heavy, but there would need to be a deliberate hit to knock them over. They do not come with carpet spikes.

These stands CANNOT BE BEAT for $40. I am clamping my speaker front to back (8") since the cabinet is curved on the sides. The stand has room to expand further (I forget the max dimension). They use a screw to compress the clamp against the speaker, so it gets as tight as you want. I cannot imagine needing to screw the speaker to the stand. I used the foam pads and clamped the speakers and can pick up the stands by lifting by the speaker only. Also, I love the top plate adjustment of +/- 10deg in any direction. Rotate your speaker, set the angle (I placed my smartphone on top to get exact measurements), and enjoy!

I had no troubles hiding my wires either as at least one other reviewer mentioned. Simply push the wire up from the bottom, and out the hole on the side of the support at the top! These are not fancy showpieces, but they are not eyesores either. Highly recommended!

Nice stands for bookshelf speakers
July 16, 2017
These are quite good speaker stands, especially when you're on a budget since they can be had for less than 20 bucks apiece. I needed the base of my speakers to be about 4 feet off the ground but angled slightly downward and these helped me achieve just that. They even include cable management holes, although my speaker cables prohibit me from taking advantage of these since the banana plugs are soldered on. The only minor issue I have encountered is that tightening the screw that is supposed to lock the base of the mount in place doesn't seem to do that very well and it can still be rotated if some force is applied. I notice this sometimes happens when I go to remove the magnetic grill covers on my speakers. I only took 1 star off for that but it isn't a dealbreaker for me considering the price.
Great for smaller speakers, large speakers not so much
May 19, 2017
The speaker stands do look a bit wimpy, but they can hold up speakers to their maximum size of 11 inches wide. A plastic sheath between the telescoping parts is the source of friction to keep the stands at their chosen height. Not ideal if you're going to be constantly adjusting heavy speakers.

One gripe is that the 8 inch square base is way too small for larger speakers beyond 8 inches wide. You'll need to fabricate a larger base, but luckily, a quick trip to the hardware store for some heavy particle board and some M6 35mm machine screws will get the extra stability you need for larger speakers. Estimated cost for materials is around $15USD.

I'm holding up a 10x11 Cerwin Vega bookshelf speaker set on my stands with my modification, and they're rock steady on my carpet... Just don't get the cat near them.

I'm not hearing any harsh sympathetic harmonics from the stands at this time when audio is playing.

If you have larger speakers and can't fabricate a larger base, I do no recommend these stands.
Some "extra" assembly required.

Out of the box, these are stands are maybe two stars... The bolts to the base are way too small. (Like the person packing the box selected the wrong bag to go in the box.) The base is too small/lightweight to give stability. The speaker clamp may need extra padding to prevent a speaker from getting scratched up. However, that said, if you are willing to sort out a few shortcomings, this is one of the only stands that extends high enough to clear my couch while being able to fit behind my couch. Be prepared to make a trip to the hardware store to sort out poor packaging. I will spend a bit extra and get the correct bolts, padding, Velcro, and canopy weights. These stands, as bad as they are out of the box, are a good start to build to your liking.
A very nice pair of stands.

I got these to go along with some Pioneer Andrew Jones Bookshelf Speakers which I'm using for surround.
Much has been said about these stands, so I'll try not to repeat what others have said. A few bullets:

- Save yourself some aggravation and pass the speaker wire BEFORE extending the poles.
- The adjustable sliders are controlled with screws. You loosen them using the screw, but the don't move past the point where you take them to. That is, the screws control the max width and you then use them to tighten. My speakers are fairly heavy and wide and they fit well and securely.
- The base is a bit on the small side, so be sure to place it on a level surface.
- The top shelf (where the speaker rests) is fully adjustable on tilt and angle. Be sure to tighten it in the position you want before you place the speaker.

Beyond that, the stands seem to be well built and are fairly un-intrusive if not particularly attractive. I just wish the base was wider or heavier for additional stability and that the design was a little more attractive. Still, you can't go wrong with these.
Good Stands with Ok Quality | Worth The Money
October 5, 2015
The stands are, well stands. They came the same way Amazon ships everything (meaning very little to no bubble wrap) and thanks to these stands I now have several cardboard boxes for my cat to indulge in.

As for the stands themselves, they work. You unscrew each side of the mount to loosen or tighten the stands, put speakers/monitors on said stands, and then close the stands. They work as well as you might think they do for $40. While not heavy they did hold my 'Boston Acoustic Msurround speakers' just fine and came with foam to put on the sides so you don't damage the sides of your speakers. While the cable management is there it's oddly placed at the bottom of the mount (meaning either get carpet spikes to replace the rubber feet these come with or DIY a solution).

My main problem is quality control. They do the job sure, but they feel cheap and I noticed quite a few scrapes on the paint (one of which being where the face of the speakers/monitors should be). This would me [personally] second guess getting them again. They are the near cheapest solution for stands that are both adjustable and stands that don't look like they were made with dental floss and Popsicle sticks. That being said I suggest these on a tight budget, but if you have more than $70 for a pair I might look further than these.

I bought these stands for my Martin Logan Motion 15 speaker set. Those speakers are heavy and these stands are struggling to stay solid holding them. First I had them on the carpet and I didn't want to take a big risk to leave the speakers on them. So I put 2 solid rectangle wooden pieces under each stands. It looks to be ok like that.

I mainly bought these stands because I am just setting up my media room and like to have the option to adjust speaker height as to configure it better.

This height adjustable design is a very good option but the stand looks ugly and is not solid. Buy this only if you need to get the height adjustment option. I will eventually end up buying a good quality solid speaker stand once I am finished with setting up and configuring my media room.
Okay for budget stands but get something better if your speakers weigh more than 10 lbs.
May 16, 2017
For reference I'm using Klipsch R-15M bookshelf speakers. I read the reviews prior to purchasing regarding not to use heavy speakers, did so anyways. Yeah they can tip over pretty easily. Luckily I have mine in areas where no one will accidentally hit them but I still don't want them to fall over unexpectedly. Not sure why they didn't go with wider bottoms?

Also, another thing that I didn't like was that one of my orders came beat up (the retail packaging is terrible) and the stand was sticking through. The quality control is also lacking. One of mine had a crack on the plastic piece towards the top. The other order was missing a rubber foot.

My recommendation: Get it for speakers that weigh less than 8 lbs and aren't very large. While mine fit it just fine, the fact they they can tip over without much trouble is a bit disconcerting.
Misleading dimensions
March 6, 2017
Unfortunately these stands do not accommodate 11" wide speakers. Since I only needed one stand for a center channel speaker and the stand is hidden behind the TV I was able to make it work for me by mounting the speaker widthwise rather than lengthwise. This probably won't work for most people.
Tipping hazard for anything bigger than satillite sized speakers
February 17, 2017
These are not as advertised! The ad says DJ stands??? First off the stand has a (very small base) making them prone to tipping over!!! I mounted my Optimus 6" woofer speakers on top of these supposed DJ stands, mind you that these are not large speakers. They have almost hit the floor at least 3 times, luckily I caught the speaker and stand each time. These would be fine for small mini speakers but that's about it.
Disappointed with them for my application.
Not Stable For Use With Pioneer SP-BS22LR Bookshelf Speakers, Fall Over; Okay For Very Small Speakers
October 20, 2014
I really don't understand why so many reviewers claim the stand is sturdy. They fall over with the Pioneer SP-BS22LR speaker; won't stand at all. Even with small, light speakers they wobble. They need either a heavier base or spikes, or both. I like the clamp-on feature, but the tilt function is difficult to adjust properly. All-in-all, they are good with the potential to have been great but miss out in the ways described. They are okay for speakers near the 5-lb range, but not stable enough very much beyond that; not a great model for use around pets or toddlers.

Those who can weld a heavier plate under the base might well find this stand a delight to use with a wider range of speakers. Larger squares of plywood or MDF could be bolted through the existing feet holes to increase stability also, and painted flat black would look fine. I happened to have a smaller speaker which I used rather than the Pioneer which I'd have preferred, though I do intend to modify the stand to increase its stability. Then I'll use what I want.

Came in a broken box and missing pieces
July 25, 2017
I do still use these mainly out of convience but it did not come with everything pictured so I had to duct tape my monitors down to make sure they wouldn't fall I was missing the plate that goes on top of the stand. The box came destroyed.
These stands would be perfect for something much much smaller
January 17, 2017
I've got the Polk Rti A3 bookshelf speakers. They are quite large, if we're being honest. These stands would be perfect for something much much smaller. The base is not large enough to support my speakers, especially if they accidentally get bumped. That being said, the features of these stands are pretty cool. The hole for running your speaker wire is convenient and the height adjustment capability is ideal. I will be returning, but that is because these do not fit my needs.

December 17, 2016
These "Heavy duty" stands are not "heavy duty" enough. With 30 pound speakers, you have to center and balance the speakers very carefully or these stands will simply topple over. Installation experience was more like trying to balance a pencil on my finger and I've got these stands on a hard surface.

These do not have holes to anchor them to anything on the bottom. I might have to rig something up as my speakers are several hundred dollars a pair and I worry about damaging them from the stands toppling over.
Quality control leaves something to be desired
January 16, 2015
The nut that the height-adjustment tightening screw goes through was misaligned on one of the stands, so the screw actually hit the outer wall of the external tube rather than the moveable inner riser that controls the height. Unfortunately this was the first stand I unpacked, so I wasted considerable time trying to figure out what was wrong. As well, the width adjustment screws on both stands were tightened so hard that it took a generous shot of WD-40, the largest phillips screwdriver I could find with a vise grip attached and a heavy leather glove on my hand to loosen them. When I phoned customer service to report these issues, the English of the person I talked to was basically incomprehensible. The only phrase she had mastered was "Listen to me!", which she said in a loud, stern voice when I asked her to repeat or clarify anything.
However, the response to my email was prompt and courteous and the replacement parts arrived a couple of days later by courier. The stands themselves are sturdy and reliable. But it was certainly an adventure getting two that worked.
Not a good option for powered studio monitors.
September 10, 2014
Bought these for a pair of powered 5 inch studio monitors. One stand broke right out of the box as I tried to adjust the angle of the platform. The other stand was fine and fit my studio monitor just fine and held it securely with the adjustable sides without having to screw anything into the speaker. With the stand raised all the way up, the top of my speaker came just below my chest (I'm 5' 8"), but with the adjustable platform I was able to tilt the the speaker back and point it towards my ears. Only draw back is that it is very wobbly. I can lightly touch the speaker and it will fall over. I think these would work great for lighter non powered speakers, but go for a heavier duty stand for powered monitors. These are going back to amazon and i will order a better pair.

Wish I didn't buy this.
June 26, 2017
I just don't like the way it's designed to hold onto your equipment. There are two clamps that you have to tighten individually by screws. There's pretty much no way to center your equipment properly on the stand with this design.

In addition to that, I find the stand to be a little too wobbly for my taste. Not good around kids, pets and carpeting.
Do NOT buy USED
June 15, 2017
Made thw mistake of buying this product used- the product is great, however yhw box showed up with several large holes in it.. i picked up the box from where UPS left it and a screw fell right out.. opened the box and that was the only screw that made the trip.. who knows what pther pieces im missing. Now i have to go find 7 more screws like the one i recieved so the saving on buying used is lost due to what i am going to have to purchase to make the product usable.. if I can not find the proper hardware I will have to go thru hassle of returning the product and ordering it new
Screws easily stripped
January 10, 2017
These stands are great EXCEPT 3/4 of the screws that must be loosened to expand fit the speaker width were so tight that they are impossible to loosen without stripping, rendering the product unusable.
Only for super super light speakers that you do not care about
February 10, 2016
It says these speaker stands are Heavy Duty, but unfortunately they cannot safely hold even the 12 pound Elacs. The stands are super wobbly and there is no way we feel comfortable leaving our Elacs, not to mention the Adams, on these stands. In order to make them work, we will need to rig them by attaching them to a sturdy board. Money thrown to the wind, I guess.
Poorly constructed.
August 19, 2015
Right out of the box one of the stands had a visible lean. I looked at both side by side and the defect was very obvious. I unwired one of my speakers which are decent sized (Energy CB-20's) to test it out. Once I adjusted the height to a proper level I found it to be an overall unstable set up. For being labeled as heavy duty the stands themselves are very light weight, and the bases are a bit to small to handle what I needed.

Overall the construction on both left a lot to be desired. Where the base connects to the pole is poorly welded and the adjustable anchors to hold the speakers were very flimsy as well. I would advise those looking for speaker stands to avoid these at all costs.
