Good and Tastes Good
August 16, 2017
My daughter and I researched supplements that would help us get more protein in our diets with a minimal amount of calories and no bad stuff additives and we feel this one is the best. We eat plenty of protein- it's not our only source - but she researched the proper proportions of carbs to fats to protein and felt she should up her protein level on occasion to help with her weight loss efforts (about 60 pounds down after a year). I like to add a little protein post my late evening workout at the gym and don't want to eat a meal a couple hours before bed. I drink half a scoop of this for like 50 calories and feel I can go to sleep in "fat burning mode" but still have some protein to build muscle. Seems to work okay for me too.The reason I added our experience to the already glowing reviews is, contrary to what many have written, I think it is tasty - like a light vanilla flavor. So I guess you have to try it and see what your taste buds do with it :)
How does this compare to "Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Natural" ? Read on...
July 3, 2017
I ONLY buy all-natural protein (NO Aspartame/Acesulfame-k/Sucralose, NO chemicals or artificial colors/flavors/colors)! And anyone consuming protein is presumed to be inherently health-conscience, so why would anyone consider ANY protein powder with this crap in it? That is beyond me. There are 1,000 flavors (double-chocolate chip cookie dough, triple espresso fudge cake, cake batter, blue lemon truffle punch, etc...) I mean seriously? Are there millions of morbidly obese body builders out there who need their protein shake to taste like their favorite candy-bars and screw their health in the process?? Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox, but for the rest of you who don't want cancer or brain-tumors and actually care about what they shove into their bodies, then look no further than this protein powder! Ok, I've spent many days doing the research to see if I can de-throne my current protein king powder ("Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Natural Whey Protein Powder") which I absolutely love! But wanted to see if there was something better or just as good for cheaper. Enter this product. Now, this review is to compare these two highly rated kings! These 2 powders are the best of the best when it comes to All Natural. To help with the analysis, please refer to the attached diagram. So, the bottom line is that for $1.00... NOW=39g protein, ON=30.9g protein. So, with NOW, you get 26% more protein for the same buck! Hows that for a "dollar menu" analysis. They are both highly rated and are both EXCELLENT choices... however, the difference is the ON has sugar (yes, natural sugar!) and has natural flavoring, so of course humans like sweet things so it gets the edge on taste (10/10 in my book... I literally love it just as much as a milkshake and it isn't that sweet, just enough to be lightly evident but not unhealthy). Now, the reviews for this NOW said it tasted horrible and bitter and I was really afraid to buy it but due to the $ per gram of protein and appearing an even healthier choice compared to the ON, I thought I'd try it. Let me tell you, it is totally awesome! Now, not as awesome as the sugar sweetened ON, but for having nothing in it but 100% protein (no sweetner/flavors) it is totally OK!!! Now... let me preface these "taste" statements with one thing... I ALWAYS use milk in my protein shakes (16 oz milk - fat-free / 1% / 2% / whole) with 2 scoops protein, blend 20-seconds, drink. I thought I'd have to mix half/half of NOW/ON but I really don't. The NOW tastes just neutral, like I'm just drinking milk (which I love) but the same or even a little better than just plain milk. Now, given that NOW has no sugar/flavoring, it is a "more" natural choice compared to the ON.. and on top of that, has 26% more protein per $1.00 spent... I'm totally sold! If I'm in the mood I can flavor it with vanilla, honey, chocolate, peanut butter, bananna. Or, it tastes neutral enough to where I don't feel I have to drown the flavor out with any of those things... because at least with milk, it tastes great just by itself!! Plus, the NOW has the added benefit of being flavor-neutral for usage in recipes (w/o inadvertantly adding sweet/flavored(vanilla/chocolate) flavor to your favorite recipes. Another fringe benefit worth noting is that the NOW is still a 5.0 lb jug. It is not trying to sneakily down-size to 4.8lb (like the ON)... this is how manufacturers do it slowly so you're still paying the same $50/tub but the tub is now a wee-bit smaller... evil, evil, I say. Anyway, both of these are my absolute favorite proteins, but taking a deep-dive into the nitty gritty details... there has emerged one-clear winner to rule all of the natural proteins out there (IMHO). Thanks for reading and I hope this helps you (I took out 3 hours on my day off to put this review together for you!). Let me know if this was helpful to you or if you have any questions. thanks!
Great powder - NO taste/smell
December 8, 2016
After a lot of looking around online it became apparent this is a very good and highly recommended isolate. My only concern was that it would not taste good since so many reviews mention the bad smell/taste. I did not want a flavored protein powder because I plan on mixing with green smoothies using a blender. I am happy to report there is zero taste to this stuff and it really doesn't have a smell. If you are looking for a neutral flavored powder to mix with smoothies this is a solid choice. No idea why others mention the bad taste/smell. Perhaps they are trying to steer you to another product?
Finally found my perfect protein - taste like protein
October 14, 2016
Finally found my perfect protein - taste like protein, mixes with just a little water and down it goes - Ive had proteins from way back in the 80's where most of the WEIDER stuff was SOY protein - now that stuff would have you choking and gaggin - yuck. With this your getting pure Isolate protein ------- NO GAS --- nuff said - the concentrate stuff ---no can handle....You can find much better tasting protein - for example Syntha 6 Isolate - one of the best tasting but its expensive and your paying for the taste and not the protein. This mixes instantly and down it goes - really it taste good.
About that Proposition 65 warning
September 19, 2015
tl;dr: it's lead, and it's nothing.I've been using this powder for years. My latest shipment, for the first time, had a sticker on it that says "California Residents Proposition 65 WARNING: This product contains a substance known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm." Even though birth defects are not an issue for me (I'm male, and I'm also not planning on having kids), it drove me crazy that they didn't say what substance the warning was for. I also failed to find the answer anywhere online. (NOW Foods does have a "California Residents Proposition 65 Warning FAQs" page, but it doesn't specifically cover this product.)I asked a question on the Amazon product page, but just got the usual collection of replies from people who don't understand that you're NOT SUPPOSED TO ANSWER IF YOU DON'T KNOW. Sheesh. So finally I figured out that I could contact NOW Foods directly (they have a question submission form on their web site), so I did that. They answered the following day. Here's their response:"The warning is based on legal settlements with attorneys that proposed the Prop 65 regulation for the State of California that mandates even low lead levels found naturally in the Whey protein be stickered. See our site on Prop 65 info: [link to the FAQ I mentioned above]".So there you have it. California requires this label if there's a chance of more than 0.5 micrograms per day of lead in a product (I assume for this product they figure people will have one or two servings per day). Obviously it's still under the federal legal limit. The federal regulations seem to be a bit complicated, but for example, they seem to allow up to 15 micrograms per liter in drinking water. They allow 0.5 micrograms per liter (not per day or per serving) in baby food. So, basically, it's not a concern for most of us. Use common sense. Don't try to live on this and nothing else; the lead is unlikely to hurt you, but the lack of other nutrients will. It's a supplement, not a meal.I think this is an excellent product. Almost all protein powders have horrible extra ingredients for "flavor"; with this one you're in control. I usually just go with a scoop of powder, a banana, and water for my post-workout shake. (Actually I only use about 2/3 of a scoop; I think they oversize the scoop a bit.)
Make customized shakes using flavors and sweeteners per YOUR CHOICE - not per the choice of a company peddling to the masses
July 22, 2015
This Creative DIY-er loves this unflavored whey protein.I had grown weary of purchasing pre-flavored and pre-sweetened protein shakes that ended up sitting in my kitchen cupboard (or being tossed or given away) whenever I felt the product tasted funky or whenever one or more of the ingredients affected me badly. Now Foods unflavored whey protein isolate gives me the perfect base for mixing my own flavored/sweetened protein shakes. With my self-mixed shakes, I know what ingredients are in them, which helps me ensure there is nothing in my shakes that will give me a bad reaction. It is also reassuring to know I will no longer be wasting a lot of money searching for the perfect-tasting protein powder. Obviously, experimenting with one glass of a self-flavored protein shake is far cheaper than experimenting via purchasing an entire container of a pre-mixed protein shake manufactured by a company that does not know my taste buds or how my body reacts to certain ingredients.I really appreciate Now Foods producing this great unflavored whey protein. It has saved me a ton of money and has kicked my creative juices into overdrive. Right now, I am enjoying "root beer flavored" protein shakes using my favorite no-cal sweetener, psyllium husk (for fiber and thickening), and a couple drops of Home Brew's Root Beer Soda Pop Base.LONG LIVE PERSONAL CHOICE!!!

GREAT product! It is exactly what it advertises itself to be. I appreciate that it has no artificial sweeteners! It is hard to find a protein powder that does not contain sucralose. If you are looking for a basic protein powder with a delicious flavor, this is it! Highly recommended!
Great-tasting protein powder
March 29, 2016
I'm not a protein powder aficionado by any means so I can't tell you whether this one is better than any other brand of protein out there. But I use this to make protein shakes and smoothies and the vanilla flavor is really nice.
Makes great smoothies!
February 14, 2016
This is a quality whey protein product and I use it for smoothies, and it blends in without any problem. I have tried it with soy milk alone, and it does have a bit of an aftertaste, so I prefer mixing it with frozen fruits to turn it into a super healthy smoothie. I have one every morning! This is a good price for the amount of nutrients you get with this whey protein product, I highly recommend it.
Pure protein gives pure energy
August 16, 2015
Great protein powder. I recently tried the chocolate one and decided to give strawberry a try. They are both delicious and give me energy. I use 1 scoop with 8-9 ounces of soy milk after the gym. 1 container lasts me about a month which is good because I use it about 3-4x a week after a workout. Great company and great product.
It's the only protein powder I buy.
November 5, 2014
I really like this protein powder, tastes good and it doesn't have artificial sweeteners.
Artificial sweeteners make me very inflamed and my hands and joints hurt. My daughter likes the chocolate blended with a banana, a little peanut butter and almond milk. I prefer the vanilla, I either do a banana, pineapple and unsweetened coconut milk with ice or frozen strawberries, pineapple and unsweetened sparkling lemon water with a little stevia.
I have run the gamut of protein powders over the years, from soy to pea protein. I like this one the best, tastes good, easy to digest (for us) and doesn't inflame me. The prices go up and down on Amazon. I prefer to get them for under $20 with free shipping, but I will go up $22 if I'm totally out.
Oh yeah, this 100% natural has a short paragraph of ingredients. There is another version that has a much longer list of ingredients, I do not recommend that one.

Does it's job well - tolerable supplement
September 17, 2017
As far as protein supplements go this one is tolerable, definitely not one you will look forward to taking. It does it's job, and I feel the difference in recovery and growth when I take it. I mix it with 1000mg glutamine before and after workouts and notice a huge spike in recovery. I also notice a huge difference in my GI tract though, and not a favorable one. These are all to be expected with this product though, as is the filmy residue left behind anytime you touch it or eat it. You can cover it up with chocolate milk (barely). Really not pleasant, like I said, but if you're serious about bodybuilding and exercise goals then it shouldn't really matter in the face of performance gains.A problem I've noticed with the bulk container though is that it will begin to smell a bit rancid once exposed to air for some time. This is even with precautions to keep it at room temperature (below 77 F) and to keep the lid screwed on tight when not actively scooping protein. I think it's best to be used within the month.
Unflavored doesn't me no flavor, just NO flavoring added
July 7, 2016
Unflavored doesn't me no flavor, just NO flavoring added. Yes it foams a little. No I wouldn't drink it with water, but a little cocoa and sweetener is doable for an extremely bare/clean protein. I've mixed it into a few foods like smoothies and it was just okay. I like to have it around to add at random. 1 scoop of this is drinkable with; pre workout powders, mio, gatorade, a scoop of another flavored protein powder. I will always keep a jug of this around

April 30, 2016
Over time I have purchased around 6 of these 5Lb containers and have never had a complaint until now.Halfway buried in my protein were some hard fragments of who knows what. I ended up running the rest of the powder through a sifter to pull out the remaining shards of whatever. Sadly, I did find more after sifting the container of powder.Pictures are worth 1,000 words so here are three of them. One picture looking in the container at the shards in the powder and two pictures of the shards pulled out after sifting the remaining protein powder.
This is the ONE!
October 17, 2013
I like this better than any other protein powder I have used and I use a lot of them because I had WLS and I have to drink twice a day. This one mix easy in cold or room temp liquids but it doesn't mix in hot liquid like most people say mine lumps up every time if I try to mix in hot beverage. It has no taste so i can add any flavor that I like instead of buying several different expensive protein powders just to have variety. Now I just buy this one unflavored and create any flavor I like! Great Product!
Great for pregnancy supplement
July 28, 2013
I am supposed to get 175g of protein a day to help my very complicated twin pregnancy. This is impossible without some sort of supplement. Also, it needs to be something free of any extra vitamins, minerals, etc. We looked locally and couldn't really find anything so I came here. I purchased this based on the reviews and have been happy with it so far. I mostly mix 1-1 1/2 scoops with 10 oz of some sort of smoothie drink. I use a pre made smoothie for convenience since I'm also on modified bed rest. It really is tasteless when mixed with something like this. Odwalla makes a protein shake that I have also used to increase the total protein in a drink. I have mixed it with other things such as oatmeal, cottage cheese and yogurt. This works to add small amounts of protein here and there, but it does change the taste if you add too much. It also seems to liquefy when it dissolves into a semi solid. I haven't tried it with just water for a quick shot of protein, but I'm sure it would be manageable. I also imagine you could throw a scoop in pancake batter, biscuits, waffles etc.
NOW Foods Whey Protein Isolate, 100% Pure 5Lb
September 23, 2011
This is indeed a great product, I am on my third order from Amazon to date, and I don't believe I'm wasting my money. I am not a power lifter, when he comes to bodybuilding and weight training, whom I believe this protein supplement product is primarily targeting, nevertheless, based on a highly nonfat diet and moderate exercise regimen that I adhere to. This Now Protein Isolate in some way is sufficing for those proteins that are generally found in traditional food sources; like meat, eggs, cheese, whole milk etc, which are not protein sources in my diet for sometime now. My flavor of choice is the "unflavored," I find that the unflavored blends tastelessly with any drink that I add it to, never affecting their taste whatsoever. That is pleasantly and conveniently unusual, which gives me a fondness for this product even more. So, if you're looking for some protein source outside the traditional food groups, you could try the Now Protein Isolate and observe if it is beneficial to your metabolism. So far, I have no medical proof of it's true benefits, but I believe it is adding to my general physical appearance in a healthy manner.

I truly like this powder but it is less palptable than the soy one I bought. I have to add fat free plain yogurt and soy or almond milk to drink it (at the least). Water only and I cannot choke this down. It smells great though! Very healthy too, I can't complain.

Tasty and nutritious! My only concern is that the container was less than half full when it arrived. I didn't actually weigh the contents, but I'm thinking it wasn't actually the full amount advertised.
Good protein for the price
September 17, 2015
This protein blends well and tastes good. I didn't find it at all chalky and it stayed blended in my Contigo while I worked out. Some I have tried separate while I'm at the gym and are gritty and gross by the time I'm done working out, which defeats the purpose. This one tastes way better with milk than with water though.
I liked this protein
January 12, 2015
I liked this protein, it's no full of chemicals, but is still whey. It has a good taste (a little watery), i mix it with almond milk and sometimes add fruit for a very good smoothie. Use it after my workouts or for a quick breakfast. Good price. Not sure if I will buy it again, cause i have got best results with other brands.
Good protein for the price, mix with water or milk.
October 18, 2013
I have used this with water for quite some time, it tastes about like any protein powder you mix with water, but if you drink it quick then it isn't too bad. If you mix it with milk it is good, but I normally try not to do that before a workout, milk and going to the gym don't mix. If you are someone who takes it after instead of before then milk is a fine choice as a mixing medium. This product seems to be exactly as advertised, I wish it would dissolve a bit better in cold water but hey nothing is perfect. I recommend this product.

Tastes pretty bad; but very lean protein
June 22, 2016
Tastes pretty bad. Nutrition details are good though (less than a gram of fat per scoop). Unfortunately I ordered the 5-pounder, I'm hoping I can get through (stomach) it so that it isn't a waste of money. Switched to Bulk Supplements unflavored whey, which may only taste slightly better, but I find it palatable at least.
This protein is ONLY good for mixing other fruits or smoothies
November 3, 2015
This protein is ONLY good for mixing other fruits or smoothies, I do NOT recommend drinking this straight if you're sensitive to weird taste. It is perfect for a protein fruit shake and packs a punch. Beware that there is also a good portion of foam when you shake it up. Other than that, like my trainer used to say, your workout is never finished until you drink that protein! drink up fellas!
OK if you cover the flavor.
October 18, 2015
It's cheap protein, with nothing else added. Main drawback is it tastes awful with just water, but if you sweeten by combining with fruit, or sugar and cocoa/vanilla, it can be palatable. You have to cover the flavor. I went through 4 or 5 jars of this, but I stopped using it because I sometimes felt awful after drinking it. It may have just been that when I didn't cover the taste enough, it upset my stomach. Not sure.
Not tasty
July 2, 2015
I researched in depth before purchasing this item. I chose this product because of the short list of ingredients/no additives. I have purchased whey protein before and did not like it based on its "chemical" taste, which I figured was due to sweeteners/artificial ingredients. However, to me this one still has an artificial taste. I am getting better at masking the flavor/smell with other ingredients in smoothies and maybe I am getting used to it.As far as dissolving, it does not dissolve as well as rice protein powder I have tried before, but it does fairly well. If you leave a smoothie sitting, it will separate and eventually harden.Overall, I bought this for the complete protein it contains. I will use it up but most likely will try another product before repurchasing this one.
if not one of the highest rated and best testing proteins out there
March 20, 2015
Overall this protein product is solid, if not one of the highest rated and best testing proteins out there. My problem is the taste of the unflavored. From what most of the other reviewers stated, I was expecting the taste to be masked by whatever I was mixing it with ( I. E. Water, power aid, etc.). The taste is pretty awful and I can stomach almost anything. This still is a very solid protein and I am most likely going to try the vanilla isolate next time.
Overall good product but the taste needs to be discussed.
March 2, 2015
I bought this protein as a replacement for my Natural ON Whey. It has a whole lot of servings and only has 2 ingredients (whey isolate & soy lechtin) which is definitely a plus.On the other hand, the reviews saying that it tastes like absolutely nothing are invalid in my opinion. If mixed with water it will bubble, a lot, and it has a very distinct and hard to explain burning after taste (almost made me spit it out the first sip because I was surprised). To fix this, I started adding each serving to 8 oz of milk. It now barely has any taste and the burning after is almost gone. Unfortunately, I am currently trying to lose weight so the fat that comes with the milk is a huge con.Apart from the taste it really is a good product and a tip I would recommend to anyone who mixes it with water or milk is to add a teaspoon of sugar. It is actually delicious if added to milk and its only +20~ calories.

Not a fan of the taste
August 23, 2017
I got this because if was highly recommended by my sister, and while it's a decent size container...I'm not a fan of the flavor. I will admit that I am a little picky. But I've used shakeology and was able to hold that down.
Use with caution if allergic to ragweed.
June 7, 2017
I thought taste was fine and it mixed well in a USB powered blender cup. However, this formula is made with Stevia extract and after using it three times and becoming increasingly ill, I discovered that Stevia is from the ragweed family and I am allergic to ragweed. I had stomach bloating, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, horrible chills, high fever with sweating, then rash and itching all over my body. Every time I used it I would wait at least a month to use again. Third time the symptoms were horrible and I found out it was the Stevia. Just an FYI
All natural is cool but the taste is kinda meh and it upsets my stomach
October 28, 2015
It hurt my stomach and the flavor was kind of weird. I've only tried it in water and coffee (the coffee idea was good idea, but I could still taste a weird vanilla-ish taste.) I want to try it in soymilk to see if that would help. The flavor wasn't terrible, I actually liked it at first, but I think I started associating it with the tummy ache that would follow. I think I should try a half scoop in soymilk, I'm a petite female so maybe a full scoop is just too much for me. I did like that it was all natural.
Good deal, good taste
October 10, 2014
Tastes pretty good if that matters to you, good deal. I got this when tight on money and didn't regret the purchase at all. My blender recently died so I had to mix this stuff with a spoon, it can be pretty clumpy in that situation, but so can other powders.
A bit sweet but doesn't bother me much.
August 11, 2013
I've been using the chocolate pure protein mix for a couple of weeks now and I've really enjoyed the flavor mixed with peanut butter and a banana so I was curious as to how Vanilla would taste. Mixing the Vanilla pure protein and whole milk tasted too sweet for me and gave off flavor similar to raw cake batter. However, after i added a banana, some blueberries and yogurt it made the cake batter flavor much more mild. Overall, Vanilla isn't bad but I much prefer the chocolate mix. Also i would highly recommend you use a blender to mix the protein powder instead of a spoon, otherwise it will not mix well.

Melted plastic bitter taste
May 30, 2017
I'm not sure if I just got a faulty one, but when I received this in the mail and tried it, the protein powder tasted strongly like melted plastic (almost like the smell of the orange container it was in). Could be due to the recent hot weather that might've caused overheating and melting of the plastic container, but since I bought this powder specifically for it to be 'unflavored' I got instead a plastic bitter taste to it. Not sure if it's still healthy to consume to be honest or if anybody else had this issue.
Bug Shell in powder
February 18, 2017
I have bought maybe 5 of these over the years and they have been alright. Until the latest order. When I removed the paper seal, I saw a small black object on the top of the powder. Turns out it was an insect shell. Not a big deal, but kind of grossed me out.
Makes any drink foamy, bad tasting, and hard to drink
May 12, 2016
I wanted to like this product due to the fact that it is about as pure as you can get when it comes to protein powder. I was looking for something with as few additives, preservatives, and chemicals to go along with my healthy lifestyle. This fit the bill as far as that is concerned but where it fell short is the consistency when making a smoothie along with the taste. I have tried a variety of protein powders over the years and I have never seen one that foams up the way this one does. I make my smoothie after my workouts as simple as possible- ice, frozen, banana, and water in a blender. When poured in a cup about half of it is undrinkable foam I have to scoop and dump out of sink. What is left is bad tasting barely drinkable protein powder. I have tried it in smoothies with fruits and blended with and without ice but no matter what it is foamy and gross. They need to do something about the consistency ASAP. I have since switched to Kura another natural brand protein powder and the taste is delicious and I do not have these issues with foam.
Does not mix well - terrible aftertaste.
January 14, 2016
I was using Jarrow Formulas Whey Protein for a few months and then decided to try this due to the higher protein concentration. It was a mistake. I've been drinking this twice a day for a week now and each time it's a struggle to keep it down. This protein is clumpy when it touches any liquid and difficult to mix by hand. But the bigger problem is that it has a strange, kinda sour, aftertaste. Unfortunately, I have 5 lbs of this crap to go through.
tastes like s***

I am drinking it like medicine. Think it works but never again such a horrible taste , i would not even torture a terrorist with this.
Awful taste
September 21, 2011
I bought this product due to the appeal that it was basically as bare boned as you could get in terms of taking protein. No unnecessary ingredients, etc. I laugh when people tell me they hate the taste of casein. Let me tell you I love my casein in comparison to this stuff. Flavorless? My judgment told me not to believe and I was duped. I can drink anything as I usually just mix my protein with water and chug it. I've never complained about taste, until now. This stuff tastes TERRIBLE. Water is the worst. I've tried it with milk and gatorade (yes I even went to gatorade to mask the taste). Still tastes awful mixed with both. Now that I have to mix it with all sorts of other stuff to bear it, I have defeated the sole purpose of me buying it in the first place. I would not buy again and would advise you to stay away, or maybe try a flavored option. This stuff does mix very well, if there was one pro.

Do not like taste of the flavoring in this product.
June 18, 2016

A Nice Finish of Yuck
April 21, 2015
This is the third protein powder I've tried and by far the nastiest tasting. There's something like a sugar substitute aftertaste to it that makes me do an "Ugh" face. As a frame of reference, MetRx Protein Plus Chocolate is my favorite taste wise, but I'm most a fan of Body Fortress Whey Isolate and will return to it.

April 18, 2015
Not real easy to mix...I use a shaker blender, and it takes effort to get this stuff to break up.
Not What I'd hoped for
March 25, 2015
I have purchase Pure Protein products for several years, I purchased this tub of French Vanilla instead of the regular Vanilla Crème and I am not happy with the consistency of my frozen smoothies when I use it. It doesn't thicken up with the ice like the Vanilla Crème. The taste isn't terrible but I definitely prefer the Vanilla Crème.

October 4, 2017
I could not finish one serving due to the taste. I typically by the Bulk Supplements brand of whey protein isolate and mix it with yogurt. This brand was slightly less expensive and more convenient packaging, so I gave it a try. I mixed it using the exact same proportions that I do with my other brand (20 grams isolate + 1 serving greek yogurt) and I couldn't take more than three bites. I don't consider myself picky about flavor when it comes to supplements because I don't buy them for flavor, but this one is more than just unpleasant. Perhaps I just got a "bad batch" - but I'm returning the product and have already ordered my other brand.
not good for smoothie use
August 4, 2017
This is the worse protein I have ever bought . I mix protein in with my breakfast green smoothies and no matter how I tried to use this product is always made it to thick and even though it says unflavored it def. has the worse taste ever, it over powered the fruit I put in smoothie.
I could barely drink this it was so nasty
February 24, 2017
This tastes like stale socks. I've drank plenty of unflavored whey protein isolates before but this one is downright nauseating. Not to mention the fact that the scoop is rectangular shaped which makes dumping into my bottle without spilling it nearly impossible.
Absolutely disgusting..

Absolutely disgusting...you can try and mask the flavor all you want, but it's gonna taste like A$$ no matter what. It leaves a strong metallic taste in your mouth. Also smells horrible.Originally wanted unflavored whey so I could flavor it myself, but that was a big mistake.I love the idea of unflavored stuff, but in this case, it's just not edible - for me at least. If you want to try unflavored whey, buy a small bag of it first to test the waters.

Nasty bitter flavor from this "unflavored" protein. I love NOW products but I'll never buy this foul tasting stuff again.Tried adding other things to make it taste normal but I ended up wasting other things.I've used the Vanilla flavored version of this and it's fine. From now on I'm only using Anabolic Halo -- literally the best tasting, easiest mixing protein and so way worth the higher cost.

It tasted way too sweet and superficial
September 5, 2017
It tasted way too sweet and superficial. I would go with Orgain instead; it may taste bland with some people, but I would prefer that taste than what this powder tasted like. I had to blend it with Orgain to make it drinkable. Never again.
Formula Changes not Natural
August 31, 2017
The formula has changed. No longer isolate, instead a mix with mostly concentrate. Now sweetened with fructose, not Stevea. No longer subscribe and save with this product.
Caused stomach pain
August 14, 2017
My stomach was in major pain and bloating after the first shake!!! Ruined my day, I was perfectly fine and all of a sudden scene GI distress! What is in this stuff!?
Not full and terrible flavor
July 8, 2017
When I received this it was about 2/3 of the way full. This is the most terrible tasting protein powder I've ever had. Please save yourself the trouble and buy something else.

Even running it in a blender for a very long time, the powder separates from the liquid in big nasty clumps.
