Great!

This thing is awesome. We were quite impressed with the quality of photos printed wirelessly from my phone. I printed a whole bunch right away and put them in a photo album. If you're looking for professional-quality, this probably isn't for you. But it's awesome for home use for photo albums or whatever. I love it!
I LOVE THIS PRINTER
January 26, 2016
I LOVE THIS PRINTER. The one nice thing about having the old disposable cameras was the it forced you to get them developed. Since the iPhone, I have literally thousands of photos just lying around in my computer or phone memory. I don't know about you, but I would always be too lazy to go down to a Walgreen's/Walmart/Costco or whatever to get them printed. The Canon Selphy saves me this trouble and I can do it all from the comfort of my home. Thankfully the refills also average out to what they charge you per photo almost anywhere else.
Really Loved it!
August 4, 2015
I really loved it! The quality depends on whether your printing from a picture you took with your phone or a picture with a regular camera... I print taking pictures with my canon rebel and the pictures are amazing! When i print with my phone from pictures i took with it, the pictures are still good but obviously less quality! But there still good! Really loved it and will be using it alot for scrapbooking. :)
Perfect little snapshot printer.
July 29, 2015
The Canon SELPHY CP910 is a great little printer and perfect for quickly printing 4x6" "snapshot" photos. The prints come out completely dry and smudge-proof in seconds by using a four-color (including "clear") lamination roller. Most printers require minutes for the dye or pigment ink to dry and set, but not this little guy.The printer was a great hit with my grandson, as well as at a family reunion where people were directly spooling photos from their Android phones directly to the printer via its standalone Wi-Fi network (it also supports Wi-Fi access points). The Windows drivers were also trouble-free, as long as the PC can find the printer on the LAN.
For a first timer, VERY IMPRESSED
May 4, 2015
I researched products in this field for many many moons before I ultimately purchased this printer. I will say I'm very satisfied. The only *very small* ding I can give them is the picture quality isn't the crystal clear and sharp that you would get from going and having your pictures printed out at a store BUT keep in mind, you are using an app, connected to a printer, using Wi-FI that being said, the pictures come out very nicely, very quickly and very good quality. I had no problems putting the paper cartridge in, or the ink cartridge. They're both very obvious, as to which is the correct and incorrect ways for those items to be put in. I had a slight bit of confusion using the actual 'keyboard' in the menu to install our Wi-FI password, but figured that out in a very short amount of time. (It's not a touch screen, you just have to use the directional arrows) I fiddled around with all sorts of pictures in my gallery. A full color shot, a black and white photo, as well as a photo that I have used and manipulated with fun things in a photo editor program. (I've attached pictures of these as well). I am very satisfied. I was able to print out 5 with the 5 ink cartridge, and am about 1/2 way through the 36 cartridge now. Once the ink cartridge is empty, you simply get an error message that you have to replace the ink and then it resumes with the pictures in queue. The fact that there was no need to have to re do and re select the pictures I had already chosen was great. Very helpful! I still have yet to play around with the camera to printer features, or with smaller paper, but right of the box to a brand new photo app/printer/phone user, I have to say I am very impressed.

Amazing features, great price, and so efficient!
August 15, 2016
Worth every single penny. It's the perfect printer for running a small home business and also for homeschool families. So many great features... You can even set up a printer email address so that you can send emails to it on the go and it will print for you at home. Similarly, you can "scan to email" to send a document or photo to yourself or even to a friend for quick file sharing. (Instead of scanning to computer and emailing. It just cuts down on steps and time spent). It also has automatic double-sided printing without having to reinsert the paper manually. I was also able to get 7 months of instant ink for free with a friend's referral link and an offer HP was running which made the ink situation a no brainer!
Great Printer
August 13, 2016
This printer is awesome! The first one that I received was defective. After a 30 minute call to HP customer service, a new one was on the way. The new one works perfectly and we have not had any issues in a month since we received it.Things I really like about this printer are: It is very quiet and fast. Printer range is great and we can print from anywhere in our house and even from the garage. It uses very little ink - in a month we are still using the initial ink cartridges that came with the printer. It has a small footprint and the only wired connection is for power. 2 sided printing is great and totally automatic. You can use heavyweight card stock in the printer. HP customer service was fast, efficient and complete - about a week after receiving the new printer, they gave me a follow up call to ensure it was working properly. Ink jet nozzles don't clog up immediately like all of our past Epson printers. Touchscreen makes a great user interface. For a low priced printer, I cannot think of any cons.Very glad we chose this printer and we feel its a great value.
Love My New Envy 7640
June 22, 2016
I've had the HP1510 All in One since 2001, and it still works perfectly. However, I needed to upgrade to a wireless printer since I use my smartphone for just about everything. I lurked until the price was, well amazing, and finally pulled the trigger. The Envy 7640 is plug and play. I did some research, thanks to all the reviewers before me, and had my apps loaded, which made everything go that much smoother on my phone. For Android I needed the All in One Remote and HP Eprint. I simply followed any instructions for both printer and apps setup and I was printing with ease. The footprint is similar to my old model, it sits a little higher with autofeed, which I didn't have before. It's amazing how much faster everything prints compared to my 1510, and the clarity is incredible. This is the first printer I've seen where I'd consider wasting ink to print photos.I purchased an extra Black cartridge based on reviews, but I've printed approx 30 pages on the smaller? included cartridge, and still have 75% remaining. It's great that I can use a touch screen to quickly check ink usage, link my google drive acct, can print recipes and all sorts of things I haven't explored. For someone who prints around 300 copies a month, and needs wifi capability, this is a great printer. HP generously gave me my 1510 when I worked for their biz partner, the largest chip mfr, which made me brand loyal. I feel like they have continuously earned my trust over the years with other purchases, including my new Envy 7640. I did get the Square Trade warranty because it's crazy for me no to, but would be surprised if I needed it. My cats think the printer is great fun, and come running when it cranks on. As long as they're happy,,,,
Great Printer for the money. Amazon has the best price by far
April 21, 2016
I tend to purchase HP printers. When I was still working this was the brand that we always used and had good luck in the work place. When I needed a new one this time I started looking and came across the 7640 Envy. This actually was more printer than I needed but it had a large paper tray, it will accept 8.5" x 14". It does a good job with the copy function and is very fast. It does have a Automatic Document feeder but does say not to scan pictures using the feeder. The printer can also be set up to have it's own email address so you can print from anywhere with your tablet or smart phone. This feature does have security and you can set it up so on certain people have access. In my humble opinion this is a great printer for the money. Amazon has the best price that I have seen. I am not sure about the software that comes with the unit as I run Linux. The printer does not say that it will function with Linux but I had no problem setting it up. HPLIP setup was easy.
Easy Printer to use well worth the Purchase price
March 9, 2016
I have been using this printer some time it has extremely user friendly, from Faxing to Double sided printing or Scanning or copying documents individually one at a time or using the automatic sheet feeder... one thing that I found very useful was the software that gives this printer the ability to generate PDF Files, another feature that I like is to go inactive and after 2 hours to power itself down... When this printer first powered up it is ready to use almost instantaneously.... The instruction screen is large and the pictures show what are the available functions and leads you step by step and provides the options of the function that are to be performed... One of biggest problems with most printers is clearing paper jams with this printer it is EXTREMELY EASY AND USER FRIENDLY it is done from the top no need to move the printer to get behind it to open the paper jam door another great printer feature is the lead through to change ink cartridges
so good!!
July 31, 2015
So far, so good!!!I purchased this printer to finally replace a Kodak (5000 something model). My Kodak printer was not broken, however even though I only use black ink, it kept running out of color ink and the printer cannot be used at all (even for just black ink printing) if it is out of color ink. So, it hurt to purchase a new printer without my old one being broken. This has been a great purchase. The set up was very simple, it is very compact, and best of all it can be used for black ink only printing even if the color ink is out!!!! My kids love it too, because now I will let them use the color ink (since I don't) to do their arts and crafts whereas before the use of color ink was BANNED from use in the household...

Slower than the prior version 800
July 27, 2016
I have this and the prior model 800. Got this as I heard it was faster - WRONG. I was running both printers side by side at an event and the 800 was much faster. Both were direct connected and printing the same image.Quality is great like the 800, just much slower. Uses same supplies which is why I got it.
I really really like this little printer
February 1, 2016
I really really like this little printer! On the spot printing is so fun for parties and get-togethers! Anyone can print from their phones inside our house using our WiFi. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is the print coloring....not exactly like the photo but still pretty good pics.
I love this! It is small
August 12, 2015
I love this! It is small, and works great (I use my Ipad with the Canon easy-print application).Things you should know: It comes with ink and paper for 5 prints only. Each ink cartridge you buy will only produce 36 photos, and you should print them all at once, because if you turn your printer off then on again, it cycles through one of the ink sections (unless you pull it out and rewind it after it turns on)This is much like a polaroid, and the pictures are not going to look as good as they do on your ipad or from a legit photo printer / business. This is fine for me, because I just wanted to create a photo album with individual photos that I have stored elsewhere.I have thoughts to use this at my wedding as a type of photo booth for guests, so they can take one of their favorite photos with them as they leave, however, the printing process does take some time as it does color layer by layer, and depending on how many pictures you may want to print, you may be buying a lot of ink and paper for it, however, it's cheaper than renting a photo booth for a day!
Impressed me!

Great All-in-One printer for home/small business.
April 30, 2017
The HP all in one is perfect for the home/small business user. I love that we can print from our apple and android devices. You can setup to send from anywhere. I can scan and send to any PC on my network. Prints great photos. The small cartridges are cheap and print plenty of papers and photos.
Works pretty well but is a little loud
March 24, 2017
This is a pretty decent printer for the price. I think it prints nice photos and prints quick enough. It's just a little loud, and slow when scanning/copying. However, it's quite the step up from my old printer which was almost 10 years old and on its last leg. I like all the wireless functions this has and the ability to print on a Chromebook and from my phone. I also like that I can scan something and email it directly to the person instead of scanning it into the computer, saving the file, then sending an email. All very convenient functions.
Solid but a few complaints
November 12, 2016
Quality and speed is great. I had a previous HP version where if you placed papers in the autofeed the HP scanning software would automatically open on the computer desktop. This version does not allow that option. So you have to save scans to one folder then move them or manually open the HP software, go to scanning click a few more times and select a scan to location. Either way is a pain. Ink seems more expensive then it should be. I tried using refilled ink but the printer will not recognize it.
Love It!!!
October 26, 2016
My favorite HP all in one to date. The only problem I have is sometimes it won't recognize my laptop and will have to print from my phone... Which is a bit annoying. But it's still a great machine!
since I don't like to be committed to anything [except my wife
October 12, 2016
I purchased this printer to replace an HP Photosmart printer for which it was becoming difficult to find ink cartridges (planned obsolescence is industry wide and, seemingly, impossible to avoid). Since the old Photosmart had no platen I had to have a second printer for scanning and copying (Epson Workforce). The Envy 7640 enabled me to replace both printers, freeing up space in my work area. I am not a heavy user (nope, not commenting on my body type) so I didn't enroll for the ink program (I'm not sure that I would, regardless, since I don't like to be committed to anything [except my wife, dear] that I can't control, depending on circumstance). The 7640 has performed entirely as presented. Set up was very easy and it integrated seamlessly into my home network so that both I and my wife can have it set as default printer and print on command. Photo printing is just as good as the Photosmart (which I liked) and scanning to the computer over the network is faultless. One caution that is not limited to this particular printer: If you want to use it to automatically detect incoming faxes, it cannot be connected to a line that has provider voice mail. I am using a second line for a charity that I run and it has a Verizon Fios voice mail box. Since I don't do much (if any) faxing any more, it is not an issue for me.So, bottom line, the printer works well and does what it says it will do. I give it only four stars because I haven't had it long enough to settle into a love affair....initial infatuation is the best you get from me.
Fine Printer/Scanner
March 13, 2016
Purchased the 7640 a couple of weeks ago for use with my Apple iMac desktop. Installation took a little while, but less than an hour. I had no hitches. It easily connected wirelessly to my iMac through my Comcast modem/wireless router. The document feeder for scanning has worked fine so far. No jams like the printer/scanner i replaced. Speed is acceptable for a home office. Only issue i have had is with the manual scanner. Scanning through the feeder works fine and communicates well with the iMac. But scanning manually on the glass results in freezing the transfer of the image to the iMac. It doesn't make since why there would be a performance difference, but will need to trouble shoot when i get some free time.

Awesome starter kit. But the pictures doesn't have the best quality. I have not figured out how to sharpen the image. It doesn't have sizing options, or cropping features
Good but hard to set up and make it work properly.

ok small printer
October 26, 2017
Good price good size,, fast shipping and pretty easy to set up - this the first time we have tried to use the wireless feature of a printer tho we have had 2 others of a different brand. Wireless feature is turning out to be quite handy this time. HP has a handy set-up system that worked well with our older iMac computer. The printer is working well over all.Criticisms: 1 - maybe its our older software but this printer insists on printing both sides of a page and its a major hassle to get it to print single sided - which we both like when doing much of our work. Single side printing option should not be a hassled. We have not had this printer working very long and cartridges seem a little short lived but print quality is good. Cartridges are easy to install. WE can't speak to durability - hope it lasts a few years and cartridges remain available - I'm getting tired of all this throw-away equipment - like our 2 previous Other Brand printers. They should last longer than 2 yrs with the light use we do. Shipping packaging was more than adequate - excess?- the double factory box was very sturdy then it was places in a rather oversized Amazon box to king of rattle around in during shipping.
Dead out of the box
October 7, 2017
Dead out of the box -- crashed within 30sec of power up (tried it dozens of times). Same using wired Ethernet, Wi-Fi or no connection. The firmware as delivered has a fatal bug that causes a blue-screen-of-death crash but the printer won't stay alive long enough to update the firmware. Founds LOTS of other people complaining of the same problem on HP's website. Finally able to update the firmware with the printer plugged directly into the computer using USB. Now it works fine. I bought this model ONLY because Consumer Reports recommended it. Love the features it promises (e.g., two-sided printing) but it is absolutely unacceptable for a piece of electronics to crash over and over until the consumer can figure out the right incantation to make it work. Highly disappointing, HP. I was a loyal customer... Perhaps if you cut your printer product portfolio from 10,000 products to something more manageable you could test each one properly. My 3 star rating is the average of 1 star for the required gyrations to make it work and 5 stars for once it finally works.
HP Envy 7640 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer.
May 11, 2017
I can't get the Scan to work right. It says not connected to All-in-One Photo Printer, but it is!!! We got it to scan one time..Every thing else works good. It prints real nice pictures and everything else work good. Can't return because box got thrown away. If you would send one that works I can return this one to be repaired...
Can be time consuming
April 2, 2017
The printer is a bit bulky but I like it. I love the fact that I can print from my phone or tablet. It does seem to run out of ink quickly and I tend to get a lot of error messages that my document is unable to print. I would have to manually go into the settings and force the document to print. It also does take a long time most of the time for the document to print. Other than that, the printer works great.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER IF YOU DO MULTIPAGE SCANNING.
March 1, 2017
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER IF YOU DO MULTIPAGE SCANNING. The copier works fine as does scanning a page at a time but the scanner feeder is lousy. It takes numerous attempts and is very frustrating. I can usually get it to work eventually but I regret not buying a better one since I need a multipage scanner a few times a week.
Mediocre at best
January 16, 2017
Mediocre at best. Setup went fairly well although there are some unique aspects with Windows 10, for example using the Windows scan software. HP has a Print and Scan Doctor Utility that was a great help when installation didn't go so smoothly. Built in software lags the competition. Print quality is mediocre at best, not what I expected after reading all the terrific reviews here. Would not have purchased if I had seen the print quality in person first. Sturdy, packaged well, and good price and should last a few years, but I probably will replace before that just due to print quality.

Could have been So Good,,, Customer Service SUCKS!!!!
November 21, 2014
The Good...Service was great, the packaging was intact, and shipping was fast. The printer can print from SD card well however you cannot control the image size so using the computer is necessary to print high quality photos so they can be resized. The print quality was nice for photo booths and mobile functions. The printer is very small, light and easy to set-up independent of a computer. This printer would be a great asset for my business, but then there's...The BAD!!!!The device does not have its serial number! It is not on the device or the box. I contacted the seller, still no response 3 days later. The printer is not being recognized by my computer and drivers can't be updated because device information can not be detected. I also tried registering the product online and the device is not recognized by Canon's online registration. This is very disheartening because I'm not sure if this product is legal. I requested a return, full refund including shipping the seller never contacted me.

Product Fail - Returned
September 30, 2017
I had to return this unit because it kept dropping off the network. Perhaps I got a bad one, but I could not recommend this printer for that reason. Also, it does not scan to PDF, which I consider essential. Brother printers do it very simply. It seems you *can* scan to PDF with a special installation of software. It wasted over an hour of my time trying to set this thing up and figure out this issue, going to their website, downloading things, etc. If you have a Mac, you are out of luck. Again, Brother printers took me all of 10 minutes to set up, and they work with Mac and iPhone very easily. For the 2 stars, it gets credit for very nice color prints and a nice design. When they get their software act together, they might again be competitive.
Does not print color well
June 25, 2017
This printer says it is a photo printer. After having this printer for less than 1 month, the color prints with white lines through it -- it is useless for photos!I primarily bought this printer to use for my small business, and I present documents to my clients that have color on them. It is embarrassing to have the low-quality effect (white lines) in all the color images. It is not professional. Why does finding a good printer seem to be impossible? ... maybe the answer is to spend a lot more $?I am very disappointed in this printer.
... the model no) had it for about 8 yrs easy on ink
March 5, 2017
This is no match for my old HP color printer (don't remember the model no) had it for about 8 yrs easy on ink. The HP Envy 7640 I have now is NOISY as can be, sometimes sounds like it will stop printing and gets very slow. I can stand the noise but this printer just sucks ink I mean sucks it had just replaced the tricolor cartridge last week and print very little in color and its empty again, wouldn't be so bad but cartridges cost $16.00 and up so will use this for a while and get another printer from an other company next time, cant believe it could be much worse (what happened to you HP ???
Disappointing
February 8, 2016
I had great difficulty setting up the wireless connectivity. The printer would not accept my WPS passcode. After one hour of repeated attempts I used the auto discover function on my wireless router and got it to connection briefly, but it was lost after power cycling. The photo image quality is a huge disappointment. I used this to replace a six-year-old HP all-in-one which had separate cartridges for color (not the ludicrously tiny integrated three color cartridge that this uses) and it printed excellent photos. This printer produces dull, muddy, low contrast prints even on premier photo paper on max DPI. I tried adjusting the print setting but to no avail. Packed it up and sent it back for a refund.
Not recommended for someone who needs moderate to heavy printing ability.
November 29, 2015
I bought an HP because everyone of them I have owned in the past has used large ink cartridges and each color had its own cartridge. My bad, I assumed this one did also. Big NOT. These ink cartridges are so small I ran out of black ink within 20 days and the color cartridge is an all in one so even thought I have lots of red and blue I am out of yellow and therefore need a new cartridge for it to print any color. Never had this happen before with an HP. I would not recommend this printer for anything but those who rarely need a printer.
It was cheap, so I'm getting what I paid for.
May 11, 2015
Not perfect. Believe it or not you have to lie to this puppy so that it will write the correct time (in some cases date) on files it saves (PDF, JPG, TIF). It doesn't comprehend places that don't do Daylight Savings time, and their tech support wasn't to versed in that either. The other thing that's stupid (especially if you do a lot of scans) is that there are some things you should have been able to set as Default (like "copy both sides", or that I want PDF, or JPG, etc.). So, between scans I have to keep telling it what I want all over again, and that's just dumb. In fact, when I've just done a PDF, and a PDF is the resting place for where it sets, I still have to touch the PDF all over again. How about it asking on a face on the glass scan if I have the other side to do, it doesn't handle that either, you have to scan the other side separately and then combine the two files. Next, and this is real irritating, the HP this replaced would OCR the PDFs by default if I wanted, this unit can't do it without supplied outside software and you have to be involved each time to make that happen. Finally, and this is also irritating, it can't pick up (on a face down manual feed) the top edge of your documents (HP scanners get that area in their scans). If your document has margin notes or something you want in the scan, you have to the pull the document back from the edge otherwise it won’t appear.

Don't buy HP
April 17, 2017
The 7640 is a piece of junk. Used it twice and it began jamming. Watched the HP video on how to clear jam, spoke to rep on phone who insisted I clean the rollers with Q-tip (it's only 3 months old) and now I have to wait a week to get a refurbished printer. I have never had a printer problem with a new printer like this before. Would recommend another brand as HP is outsourcing to cut costs and apparently no longer makes a good product. By the way, we returned a different model HP printer to the store having major issues with it just a few weeks ago. Dont' buy HP!!!!!!!!!!! They used to make a good product but no more.

Worst Printer I've Ever Purchased
April 18, 2016
This printer has never worked properly since I got it. Says paper tray empty and cannot communicate with printer however it has paper in the tray and is connected to the wireless network. I have tried to use HP Forums online (no actual phone number to speak with a human being) and still to no avail. I have reset the printer, uninstalled and reinstalled 100+ times (without exaggeration) and still, nothing works. The printer doesn't even make the sound like it's trying to feed the paper into the rollers to print. I work from home and this has prevented me from being able to complete projects thus losing both time and money dealing with these issues constantly. The return window on the printer was only 2 weeks after the purchase date so now I'm left with a printer that doesn't work and no way to fix it and no way to contact seller (AMAZON) about repairing the printer. Now experiencing even more issues where the printer drops off of the wireless network, doesn't work via AirPrint or any of its other wireless printing options and has to be force rebooted multiple times daily.Bummed as I used to have an HP all in one (7410) from many years back that worked well for me for 7+ years and now this...quality has declined sharply. I just want....actually NEED...a printer that prints when I ask it to and for some type of customer service support. That's all I'm asking.
Stay Away from This Printer!

The printer doesn't have a 5 gHz capability, so it would not connect to my home network. I had to get a second frequency just for the printer! Then, about 45 days after I bought the printer, the scanning and copying function broke--the glass separated from the plastic frame, preventing the scanner bulb from traveling under the item to be scanned. Now I see that Amazon is not giving me full credit for the return--I am #38.61 short of what I paid for the printer and ink.TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
