I hated how coffee tasted out of my keurig
March 30, 2017
This has been a god send. I hated how coffee tasted out of my keurig. It had such a chemical taste. I honestly thought I'd hate having to allow extra time for this, but the coffee is so much better, it's absolutely worth it!
Mandatory for life as I know it.

This is an excellent press. For those who are new to presses, they can be very advantageous if you want to get the most out of your coffee. Due to the direct several-minutes of contact between your coffee grounds and the water, it brews a strong, robust, quality coffee. I prefer to make Death Wish coffee with mine, but it's been "borrowed" by other folks who like their lesser brews. Usually about 1/2 way full will fill a travel mug plenty full, and last me for most of a shift or part of an office day. This particular model is well built and hasn't cracked, chipped or broken in any way with daily use for several months. Highly recommended, and I might buy another just to keep on hand if someone wants to "borrow" it again.

My husband loves his french press to make coffee. He even is using it in a youtube video we made together on my account (thejusticepirate on youtube). Therefore you can see it used in action. I wouldn't say this is a 6 cup though unless they are measuring cups. He gets about two and a half cups of coffee from it.
Easy to use, easy directions, quick clean up, can't miss!
October 2, 2015
Still learning how to use it. I went to the store to purchase coarse ground coffee and that was not easy to find in my small rural town, but we have a Starbucks in our grocery store, so they ground a pound for me. The first time I used it, the water wasn't warm enough, so I had to put my coffee cup in the microwave to warm it more, but that was my error, nothing to do with the product. The product worked exactly as described, and quite easily, and I had that wonderful cup of coffee like my sister made for me. I loved it. Its a handy size, easy to use to make different strengths of coffee. I prefer a medium blend, but my husband likes a bold blend, so after I made my cup, I simply made his cup, which he also thoroughly enjoyed.
Great value in a good basic press
April 24, 2015
I bought this as a replacement for a broken beaker of a Starbucks/Bodum French press. This complete press was less expensive than a beaker. The quality of the Primula press is very good as a whole. The beaker is thick glass and solid. The holder is nicely molded, fits my hand well and is solid. The plunger is very basic, almost minimalist, but it accomplishes what it needs to do, and even has an arrow to show when the lid is lined up with the pour spout. The metal disc that holds the filter screen is thinner than a Bodum, but perfectly adequate for its purpose, and all the parts fit together well. One warning - after you've made the coffee, when the beaker is hot, it WILL slide out of the holder if you hold it upside down! I almost lost it the first time I used it, since before it was hot the beaker seemed to be glued into the holder, the fit was that tight. This is a good unit, well made and simple, and a genuine bargain at half the price of a Bodum or Starbucks French press. I recommend it.
I can't find a better ratio of cost to awesome out there.

I can't find a better ratio of cost to awesome out there. For the $11 + shipping, I get an easy-to-use, quick, simple, just-the-right-size coffee maker. I feel like I'm some sort of coffee snob when I say "Yeah, I use a French Press," but really, I like it because it's so quick and easy. 4 minutes start to finish, and that includes cleaning it out.OK, full disclosure: I have an under-sink filtered hot water dispenser, so I have 195° water-at-the-ready and don't have to wait to heat the water, and usually, I'm just making coffee for myself. If I wanted to make coffee for more than just me, or had to wait to heat water, I'd laze-out and let Mr Coffee do the work, and "cleaning it" just means rinsing it under cold water.

Bought this as an addition to my camping box. Best decision ever. Now I can convince myself I'm really at home instead of at a lake with no visible water and lots of bugs.
Great french press for single-serve
December 21, 2015
This was my first french press, which I purchased for my dorm room as I had an instant coffee maker last year that really ruined my relationship with coffee. I figured this would be more practical than a drip coffee pot for a dorm room, yet taste better than a Keurig. I was totally right, essentially I can get about 2 cups out of one brew which is plenty for myself in the morning, and only takes about 3 minutes to clean and is ready for the next day. Takes up minimal amount of space and the seal is flush with the kerafe, really an excellent french press for the price.
Looking for an economical start to coffee brewing? You've found it.
October 28, 2015
I have been using this french press for a little over a month now and it has held up nicely. I get a very little amount of grinds in my cup but that is expected from french presses. Cleanup is a little bit difficult, but I do disassemble the whole filter/screen to ensure I get any and all grounds out of the press to avoid any sour flavors. If your looking for a beginner level french press, this is definitely the way to go. If you are looking to spend a few extra dollars on one I would also recommend looking to get one that also includes a second screen near the 'beak' of the beaker to avoid any grounds that may slip past your filter! Happy brewing!
Perfect french press
October 15, 2015
The French press was exactly what I was looking for. I had an old one that broke because the inside parts were plastic, I was happy to see the parts inside this one were metal and that it appears to be well made. It works great, very little to none coffee grounds escape into the coffee. We use this for making coffee at camp, and it works perfectly. It's also the ideal size for two decent sized cups of coffee.

Coffee and Espresso Maker, ZYK French Press Coffee Maker, 16 Ounce 4 Cups (4 Ounce Each)DISCLAIMER: I received a product discount for this review. The ZYK French Press Coffee Maker is beautiful. I enjoy using it, as it adds a touch of class to my daily tea. I have several other presses that are used for coffee. This one I use just for my tea. I haven't had any problems with the screens or the glass being broken. The press makes approximately 16oz of tea, which is perfect for my largest mug.
The cure for u Keurigers. Throw that wasteful keurig away. Or recycle it if you can.
August 14, 2015
I hadn't ever used a french press so I had no idea how great they are. I actually bought it cuz I read that it was the best way to make ice coffee.(cold brew). I haven't tried that yet but I! Confident it will work great. I did have a regular coffee maker that no matter how many times cleansed with white vinegar and water I couldn't get that bitter taste out of my coffee. So I was gonna buy a new one but a french press was a little cheaper. And I heard better. It's true the coffee is great and they recommend grinding your own which since I have a bunch of ground beans I haven't tried yet. I'm sure its even better. This product is perfect if you don't want to spend to much and I don't see that you can make them much better. Only bigger. This made enough for around a couple mugs. Perfect for me since I drink alone but I'm sure it accomadate another person. You could simply rinse it out real quick and make more since its so easy. I love this product. I believe there is no other way. There isn't a reason to use a contraption that puts it coffee in contact with plastic. This is only glass and some steel I think it's steel and you don't taste it like a keurig you can taste the plastic. Gross. Get one or be wasteful

A great value
April 13, 2016
I love using this press to make coffee and tea. It feels safer than some of the others I've seen where the canister doesn't feel secure or falls out. The rubbery bits on the outside fit snugly. The plunger is a little hard to clean, but is no harder than other presses I've used. The only downside is that I didn't realize how small six cups was until I made my first brew. I was excited at how great the value was for the product.

Keeps temperature for a decent amount of time. Works well and is light. Does have a few scratches on the inside form use but not enough to cosmetically change the appearance of the item.
This is a nice, low cost press
May 5, 2015
This is a nice, low cost press. I actually use it as a milk frother (with the appropriate plunger) but found that the plastic holder is WAY too tight to easily remove the carafe for cleaning purposes. This is actually my second Tempo press - the first one shattered in my hand as I was trying to put the glass carafe back into the plastic holder which is much, much too tight. On this second item I made a single cut in the upper horizontal plastic frame immediately above the X cross brace. The carafe is still held securely but is now easy to remove and replace.
It was in almost perfect condition with only a minor scuff mark or two
February 21, 2015
I purchsed a used press for ~9.00usd and change. It was in almost perfect condition with only a minor scuff mark or two. It works just fine. I have donated my ~$55.00 drip maker to goodwill. I would have to use four scoops of coffee for a half decent cup of coffee in the drip. In the press i use 3 scoops and the coffee is twice as strong and flavorful. I'm not sure i will ever use a drip maker again. they are just so inefficient in maximizing the usage of the coffee grounds. The little press is a great deal.
Good for price and quality
December 12, 2014
I like it. The price is right and it has a quality heft to it. Sooner or later, I break the glass on containers like this. I go through about 1 a year, and I use it 2-3 times a day. Note...this one doesn't not have a comb-like filter on the front...so you could be getting more grounds than you are used to in your coffee.
Decent, inexpensive press
July 16, 2012
I've been using this coffee press for about four months now and haven't had any problems. It hasn't shattered, melted or exploded, and the screen is sufficient for keeping the grounds out of the liquid once it's been pressed down. I like the X-shape of plastic around the glass carafe because it makes me feel a little more secure when I'm carrying it. It isn't fancy but it does the trick just fine.

does the job
April 2, 2017
i have 2 french press pots, both bodums. one is too small and the other too big for my daily huge mug of coffee. this one is a perfect size. it is not close to as well made as the bodems BUT it does the trick. and of course it is about a third of the price.
Nice press for the money!
November 6, 2015
I have used this press several times and have had no problems. Some of the fine grounds get through, but that's to be expected with most coffee presses. I definitely like the size and the fact that it's lightweight as I intend to take it on camping trips. The base is sturdy and the glass fits in the frame with a tight snug fit. Uses thin stainless for the frame, thin glass, and has a plastic lid, all of which could easily be bent out of shape or break if not careful, but I definitely don't think you'll find anything better for $10.

October 26, 2015
I bought this its not because I really love coffee but its for when I have a visitor coming in the house who love coffee. Coffee for some people will help them awake for along time but for me and others coffee makes me sleep. When I am wanting to sleep quick I use the coffee to fall asleep. Now that I have this coffee and espresso maker then its a good thing not to worry about what to use since our coffee maker was broken a year ago. The coffee maker is good and easy to put but since I am new to this kind of maker kind of not fun yet. Hoping to use more often soon. I receive this product in a discounted price. All opinion is mine.
Good Value
October 22, 2015
Great Value. I took it apart (like you would to clean it) to flatten out the screen a little to make it a tighter against the glass when pushing down the grinds. Works perfectly now, no grinds in the coffee. Lot of false negative reviews. The box it came in was loaded with Styrofoam around it in its box. If it's broken out of the box, it was roughly handled while shipped, also, just send it back and they will overnight you a new one. Some people broke it the first day they got it.... It's glass not steel, be careful!! The best one was the person who said "Thought it was going to be bigger"... ha Did they read the title "...16 Ounce 4 Cups (4 Ounce Each)". That's exactly what it is!!!!!
Perfect size but flimsy screen
October 3, 2015
Perfect for cold brewing my afternoon iced coffee in my mini fridge. It is small which I love and has a very efficient filter. I use medium ground coffee (the kind that comes pre-ground) and never has grounds in my drink. Love it!**Update**After using this french press for about 6 weeks I have noticed the screen beginning to tilt and bunch in a few places allowing grounds to slip through. It is not bad enough to make the press unusable but it does knock a star off. Hopefully it won't get worse.
Good Press, Odd Seller
September 20, 2015
The French Press is great! Though I have to say, it was disappointing to receive it broken the first time and have to ask the seller to send it again with better packaging. He was polite to deal with, just strange. I told him in the original email what the problem was, that I wanted a replacement, and my order#. However he sent 3 individual emails asking me 1... if I wanted a replacement or a refund. 2 If I had an order number. And 3 asking if he had the right address. .. the last one not a bad idea... just not necessary imo. Anyhow it's a great product, it may just be interesting if you need to deal with this seller.

The plunger is hard to clean. Once I unscrew it to clean the mesh screen, it's almost impossible to get back on. I've had one exactly like this before in the past and never had a problem with it though, so maybe I just got a bad one this go 'round? Bummer.
It's okay for the price
July 5, 2015
This is okay for a first press, a temporary press, or a press used very little. I happen to use mine every day and will definitely be upgrading. My GSI backpacking press is higher quality than this. This has been durable, but the only issue is the quality of the plunger. It's loose, does not provide enough pressure, the lid rattles a bit. You can expect this quality for the price; I just needed a temporary replacement for a good one. It makes my coffee every morning, and I still prefer this to a drip pot any day, but if you can invest in something nicer with higher quality DO IT.
You get what you pay for
January 5, 2014
After reading most of the reviews I decided to give it a try, knowing that it might not last as long as a bodum. The glass cracked two weeks into my use. I admit the glass cracked when I hit it lightly while stirring the coffee with a stainless steal spoon, which they told me not to do. However, I tap the bodum glass with a metal spoon all the time and never have a problem. In my opinion, the two week lifespan did not justify the lower price.

September 7, 2017
While the other parts work very well, the carafe itself is poorly made. The bottom broke on mine after using maybe a dozen times and always with very careful use and cleaning. The glass in the bottom of the carafe is extremely thin and will not stand up to even the most careful cleaning. I am abandoning the french press method as too expensive. It simply makes no sense that beakers cannot be made to withstand gentle and proper care.

Useful but not durable
September 29, 2016
Useful product for the price point but delicate. Be careful while cleaning! I went to clean grounds out of mine the other day and while hitting the base with my hand, the entire glass bottom gave out. Granted the glass is thin, but I managed to get a small cut on my wrist.
Won't stand up to the test of time
February 25, 2015
REVISED REVIEW, Aug. 2015: The initial four-star review I made in February 2015 is below, but this thing really isn't built to last. The problem in the last sentence of the first paragraph about the mesh screen spinning off persisted, to the point that now the threads on the holding plate are stripped and won't stay on the spindle. The press is effectively broken and useless. Spend a little more and get something that lasts.Initial Review, Feb. 2015: Had for almost two months now and no issues at all, aside from the mesh screen falling off into the glass canister one morning (didn't realize that when I was rinsing it and letting the screen spin on the spindle under the water flow that by spinning it was unscrewing from the spindle...lesson learned).I can't attest to how others--who have rated this poorly and say the glass cracks easily--have treated the press, but the directions do explicitly state not to use metal spoons in it, as this could break the glass. I have used this every day for two months, sometimes more than once, and have always only stirred the coffee before pressing with a plastic cocktail stirrer. It works great, cleans easily, and makes a cup of coffee that even I with my unsophisticated palate can tell tastes better than running it through a paper-filter brewer.

January 28, 2015
It's a good/simple looking press. It worked ok for about one month. I used it about every other day and handwashed it gently each time. But after that, the mesh strainer part started to weaken. The press part would not sit at the top and would prematurely sink into the glass before the coffee was completely brewed. The mesh wasn't a strong barrier, and the coffee grounds would end up in my cup. I checked to to see if everything was screwed ok and it was. Gave it a few more tries and had to throw out a few cups of coffee due to coffee grounds. I ended up throwing this product away after one month use.
Good returns! For a bad product....
January 19, 2015
First, it arrived broken. I big ol chunk of glass was missing from the bottom of the pitcher. Was this because I had it shipped with the 'Frustration Free Packaging"? Well, annoying as that was, it's not a big deal, as they were willing to send out a replacement, providing I send back the original broken one.Received the new one, yay! But when I pulled it out I noticed the mesh filter was slightly bent in places... I honestly didn't think it'd be a big deal as it was supposed to be smushed against the sides of the pitcher. Well, those little bents meant that the coffee grinds could sneak on through, so I got a mouthful about halfway into the cup of coffee :( Not only that, but the metal attachment at the bottom of the plunger is bent so the entire plunger gets pushed down at a slight angle. I want to bend it into the correct position, but I fear I might break it since it's so flimsy already.I'll probably put up with having half cups of coffee (also it does NOR make 6 cups!! 3 MAX) until it breaks completely, which won't be much longer, and actually splurge $10 more for a better one! :)

Nope.
July 17, 2016
Not a good press. Clunky, awkward, and cheap! Once you pay the shipping, you've paid for any press you can get locally for the same volume. When the press arrived, I noticed it had an inner and outer cap. The inner cap was a hard plastic that was loose, and would get in the way of the poor. Something that was easily fixed once I found and tightened the bolt that came off in shipping. Once that was in place, I had no more problems with the lid of the press.I had this press for 2 months. I used it once a day for 2 months. Then, following the morning routine, I filled it and left it to cook while I got dressed. I returned to a press with nothing in it, and coffee covering the kitchen counter and floor. The glass had cracked at one of the metal braces due to Hot Water?I would not recommend this product.
Get what you pay for I guess
March 29, 2016
Update added 10.2.2016:I've been using it almost every day, sometimes twice a day since I got it. This morning, the press cracked when I poured hot water in. Not just a little crack, but a bizarre S crack that wove around nearly twice around the glass. The bottom popped off completely and another crack nearly split the sides of the glass across horizontally. Pics to follow. I've dropped it down to two stars. I've had a lot of glass dishes in the past and gave never seen anything like this. Fortunately it was only half full when it went, but it was still quite a mess to clean up. It was good for the price and for how long it lasted, but I figured it would've died from me dropping it rather than it cracking so spectacularly on its own.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Unedited original:For what I paid, this works wonderfully. $7.99 in August 2015. I've been using this almost daily, sometimes twice daily since I bought it. I'm pouring fresh boiling water into it and haven't cracked the glass yet like other people. Let's get down to the details!Pros:-bottom unscrews for easier cleaning of the filter (but it unscrews itself and wobbles, so check it before you use it)-good size for my tall coffee mug-works well for loose leaf teaCons:-There's a plastic insert under the lid that I was feeling iffy about (anytime I see Engrish in a manual, there is reason to suspect that there might not be the highest quality of materials being used. I say this as an Asian. If they couldn't be bothered to hire someone to fix simple text, corners were probably cut elsewhere as well). I assume it's there to insulate the metal so it's not blazing hot when you go to pour your drink. I decided to remove it since my goal was to have no plastic. I have long nails, so I use those to hold the lid when I'm pouring or moving the filter. It works.-I am glad I removed the plastic because it makes drying out the underside of the metal a lot easier. It tried to rust on me (bits of the metal started going dark, but hasn't done anything yet). Had I not removed it, I wouldn't have known about the potential rust.- remember to hold the glass when you're dumping out water when washing it. It slides out.- the filter deforms pretty easy, so stuff has been seeping around it, both tea and coffee grounds. Not a huge issue, but it might bother others. Just smish it back out.Given the longer list of cons than pros, I'm not sure if I would be willing to pay the current price at $14.99. Price cut off for me would be $10. So, if you see it on sale and want to try it, that would be the time to do it.
Pass on this poor design!
January 9, 2016
Pass on this. The screen press is not well designed. I have coffee grinds get through just about every time. On a cooler morning, I woke up and wanted a hot cup of coffee. I placed a tea kettle on the stove, waited to hear the whistle, then poured the hot water into the press. Well, apparently the the glass is too thin and cheap to handle that. The glass cracked all the way around and the coffee press went into the garbage. My advice is, if this press will be your daily driver go ahead an either buy a more expensive one or go with some sort of stainless one. I found a stainless steel one for 25$. Good Luck
First french press maker I have owned
November 12, 2015
This was the first french press I have owned so I didn't really know what to expect ... until this one got inadvertently broken and I purchased another one. Every cup of coffee I made had some coffee grounds in it. I thought that was just how it was with a french press (first one) so I put up with it. I was constantly trying to "shape" the filter when washing it so that I would get less grounds. Compared to the new one I have purchased, this is cheaply made. The filter is more flimsy and the glass is much thinner. Sorry, but glad this one got broken so I could experience what a french press should really work like. The new one that I bought is a Pyora French Press with a lifetime guarantee and a lot of other perks. It was only $10. more and I do not get any grounds in my coffee. NONE!

November 2, 2015
This product is a good example of how one cannot trust reviews on amazon anymore. I bought two of these guys, based on the reviews on this web site. On the plus site, very good looking if you put it on a shelf. On the other hand, the glass is so thin they both broke within weeks of normal handling. One broke simply from pouring in boiling water, the other lasted a little while longer, but broke also within a couple of weeks. It is also dangerous-if you don't notice it you may end up drinking broken glass. The other bad thing, is you can't buy replacement beakers at this size. Overall a total waste.Just as a comment, I am really surprised at the sheer number of obvious fake and paid reviews about this item. Please consider the specifications of the item first before buying and use your judgement.
This might not last longer than your caffeine buzz!
October 31, 2015
My first thought when I took the press out of it's box was "wow this is a piece of junk. Well it was 10 bucks and I'm poor so it'll do for now." A piece of junk it certainly is. The lid doesn't fit very well, the glass is rather thin and seems like it wouldn't last long under daily use, and the metal carafe holder is thin - I would crush it in my hand if I didn't handle it carefully.Upon first use, made my coffee just fine. Pressing the mesh to the bottom took more force than other french presses I have used in the past, possibly because I was using more finely ground coffee. I didn't have any more coffee grounds in the cup though.Upon second use, the mesh plunger broke. After some tinkering I fixed it up. I guess the mesh part connects to the plunger with a threaded screw and it came undone. When you are trying to get your coffee for the day you are not expecting to have to do french press maintenance!I'll make this clear: this is not the "amazingly high quality construction" the many "unbiased" 5 star reviews give it. This is a french press of okay quality. That is, just above being total crap. Was going to give it 1 star but since I was able to fix it I gave it 2.

Worst French Press
September 2, 2016
I never leave reviews but I hate this french press so much that I feel compelled. The spout and pour are awful. More often than not, coffee goes spilling down the sides of the container. I am a 33 year old, fully functioning and very capable adult but yet cannot pour this thing without coffee running down the sides (I'll guess about 75 percent of the time). I usually hold it over the sink when pouring to reduce the necessary clean up. DO NOT BUY THIS THING.
and it worked excellent for a month or so
January 12, 2016
Second one I've owned that has broken. The first time I thought it was just because I was filtering some very hot material with a decent bit of force. So I repurchased it, and it worked excellent for a month or so. Today I went down to brew some coffee, and as I was dumping out the old coffee grounds (very gently tapping it) a large chuck of glass fell off of it and it cracked all the way through. If you're looking for a french press to get you through the month, this is the one for you. However if you, like me, want something that lasts a little longer than that this is not the press for you.
Very poor design
November 2, 2015
Soooo.... the handle and design around the glass? Yeah, that's all it is. It's AROUND the glass. NOT actually attached to the glass. I turned the thing upside down to clean the coffee grounds out and... SMASH... Into the bottom of my garbage can it went while I was still holding the handle. WHY in the heck are they two separate parts?!? If the beaker breaks, it's not like I want to keep the 5 cent plastic handle... It lasted one whopping use before literally throwing itself in the garbage.
for fear I will never get it to go back together like it should
October 12, 2015
Do not order - the first one I received became nonfunctional after the second use. The stem inside the lid, where it screws to the filter, stripped out and wouldn't attach firmly anymore. I was sent a replacement, and after a couple of uses, it's trying to do the same thing. I'm just trying to wash it without taking it apart now, for fear I will never get it to go back together like it should.
Thin and fragile
September 28, 2015
Very thin glass. It was in fact so thin it did not survive the shipping and arrived as a box full of broken glass and a separate plastic holder so I have no idea how coffee made in this may taste..

I never thought I would stop going to starbucks... But this my friends, this device is real. It pumps so well, the up and down motion feels just like stepping on a honda civic's gas pedal. But the crazy part, it only needs 1 pump... BOOM! Coffee. So bye bye starbucks! Don't need any more of your coffee as this 1 pump device makes the world change.Update: it's been two months now and the press has broken. It no longer stayed connected to the round press and broke without even fully pressing it. So now my return window is over and this crap is going into the garbage. Do not buy this product. Obviously it doesn't last long. Unless you're willing to buy one every two months. Do not buy.

Very poor design as the bottom filter will become unscrewed every so often, the top is made of two pieces and they can get loose and separated, the mesh filter would get creases in it that would allow grinds to flow through. Glass broke after 5 months.
Disappointed and furious. Glass shattered. HORRIBLE QUALITY AND HORRIBLE SERVICE

This French press is cheap and I was severely disappointed that Amazon had this product. I can't even believe it was rated so highly. At first I liked it...it worked. But after a few uses the glass shattered while pressing down in a normal way. I CUT my finger and had to get my finger stitched up. This is ridiculous needless to say. I would expect nothing less than a replacement product from Amazon if not A FULL REFUND. I am not satisfied as a customer and will not be doing any more shopping on here unless I receive some sort of customer service.
Not happy!!!

Not happy with this product! The glass was thin and it cracked while pouring water in. I just got it at the beginning of November. I had to use a filter to pour the coffee through because there were so many ground just using the press. My last glass press lasted over 10 years.
Cheap, easily broken.

I previously had a Mr. Coffee press, and loved it. Unfortunately, it was dropped and broke. I purchased this press based on reviews. I found the the metal surrounding the glass to be very thin and easily bent, or mishapen. The glass is also extremely thin, and shattered while I washing. I only used this product 3 times before it shattered, and eash time I found it hard to get the lid off to clean it out. I would not recommend this product.
OK product; spend the extra $10 and get a quality product instead.

This is a cheap, made-in-China French press that is satisfactory but not nearly as good as other similar designs. My advice is spend the extra $10-15 and get a quality product. I would not recommend this item and I would not buy it again. **Update** -- item cracked and broke one day for no obvious reason as I went to pour water into it. I repeat what I said originally: this is a cheapo version of a french press, do yourself a favor and get a better-quality version.
