best tv ever owned
August 30, 2016
This TV hands down is the best TV I have ever owned. In case anyone is wondering, yes, it does do HDR. Models 7500 and up do. It remained HDR ready until recently and was updated by Samsung to use HDR. These TV's are great. They're upgradeable in the form of boxes instead of whole TV's. This means I can just upgrade my box when I want a new TV with newer features. Its amazing for gaming. Ultra low latency at 20ms. 30ms while in 4k. That's close enough to play a lot of competitive games even on pc.This tv looks amazing. Everything plays great. This TV was a steal on black Friday at 1800.
Great picture, exceptional colors
January 15, 2016
Purchase this 65" curved Samsung 7500 series 3D 4K TV a couple of weeks before Xmas. Along with the Sansung curved sound bar and Samsung 3D 4k blu ray player. Had the TV & sound bar mounted on LR wall (See Photo). Great picture, exceptional colors. Sound bar with WiFi sub woofer is nice as well as is the BluRay player. Wasn't particularly interested in 3D as they are stopping making that format but I did get three movies and they are fun wo watch with the 3D Glasses.Had a group over for New Years Eve & Day watching football. Everyone was amazed at the picture quality. You won't go wrong with this set up.
Be Prepared to Be Blown Away...
December 29, 2015
4.5 rounded upI spent quite a bit of time researching this product, as it's a big purchase!I am extremely sensitive to both motion blur and judder. If you don't know what those are, than you likely aren't sensitive to it! I notice it on most sets, no matter the quality. So, when I read up on the LED's, that was one of my top priorities. This model had one of the highest ratings for both, as well as for playing videos and watching movies in a dark room. (both of which our family does)I wasn't too sure about the curved screen, as we've never had one, nor have I ever been to a home that does. I'll tell you, that the other reviewers are correct: You don't even notice the curve after the first day or so. I have a 24x23 room, and I have watched the screen from all angles, without any issues.NOW...you will need patience, and a degree in TV programming would help, too. Plan on taking some time to study/play with/and experiment with it and the settings. I actually read some of the reviews here, and copied their setting suggestions, which ended up giving me the best results. Some people really don't care about the sharpness/brightness/color/contrast/speed/judder/blur, etc. I do. Because of this, I spent HOURS messing around with the layers. When I say layers, I mean layers. If you are put off by TV's that aren't just plug em in and go...you might want to consider something different. BUT, it isn't going to look as good. :)The 4K streaming (no, 4K is NOT available in a digital format you can go out and buy...yet) is amazing. The 3D is pretty dang cool, but I found out right away that I'm going to have to buy a new 3D Blu Ray machine If I want to watch one on anything other than the special 3D channel that's built in. (yes, I am a newbie at 3D too)THE HUB. Some people have complained about it, but I rather like it. It's just a box that plugs into the TV (via HDM cable) and is just what it says:a hub. You can plug all of your HDM gadgets right into it (up to 4) without having to mess around in the back of the dark TV.The 'SMART' aspect is pretty dang cool. Amazon Prime, Netflicks, Youtube, a 3D channel, and many other WIFI channels available at your fingertip. Literally. You see, the smart little remote control works like a WI stick. You hover your finger over the center button, and it activates your pointer, to then control all your options right there on the screen. FUN.My two complaints: (and they are rather big, hence the 4.5 rating)**There are only TWO ATV jacks. Yes, it's old school, but a lot of devices still use it, including my XBOX and surround sound system. I think I have to get a splitter or something to make it work, because as it is, when we want to play XBOX, I have to unhook the surround sound to plug it in, then change the tv setting to the tv speaker, losing the surround sound.**The GLARE. Unfortunately, the screen is highly reflective. Fortunately, when we remodeled the room to turn it into a family room, we did so with the TV placement in mind, so the only window is a large one to the side, not behind. When the lights are turned down, it isn't noticeable, but if the lights are up or the shades open on the one window, you can see glare with the screens images are dark. This is one thing that doesn't bother me too much, but if does bother you, take that into account. It's an issue.Overall, a spectacular TV, especially for the cost. I paid 1,495 for it, so I consider it a great product for the price. If it had been a 3,000 TV, I would give it a lower rating, because of the issues I mentioned. BUT, I didn't pay enough to expect a perfect TV!Oh...and I don't see motion blur, for those that care. Judder happens every once in awhile, but I think it is more about the signal, vs the TV set.
The free scheduled delivery was perfect. They showed up in the delivery window
December 7, 2015
I was sure something would go wrong with this purchase, buying a TV off of the internet, but oh my, was I wrong. The free scheduled delivery was perfect. They showed up in the delivery window, with 2 people, carried it exactly where I wanted, unboxed, and tested the TV. The Tv came in its own samsung box, and that box was in an even larger brown box with even more packaging, which was strapped down in the delivery truck. Enormous care was taken to make sure it arrived to me in good condition. I can almost say that if you receive a physically broken TV, it's likely not from when amazon was handling it but somewhere else along the chain. I feel super confident ordering large and particularly fragile items from amazon now.The TV itself I researched to no end before choosing, because I am using it for a PC for 4k gaming. It's one of the lowest response times (~20ms) from a TV boasting these features, especially of this size, there's also very little input lag. It also is capable of 4k, 60 hz, 4/4/4 chroma while connected via hdmi 2.0 to the pc. I'm running a 980ti hydro copper, using the hdmi 2.0 port with no issues. Some games run ultra settings with solid 60fps. Turning off AA (because with 4k, it's completely unnecessary) will also help if it's not giving the expected fps. Some settings in the TV need to be tweaked to enable all of this, mainly game mode MUST be on. Turn on 4/4/4 for the hdmi port you are connecting to the PC as well. The display is beautiful. From the color, to the lighting, to the resolution and framerate. Even in 4k 60hz, the motion interpolation processing adds "fake frames" for 120hz feel. There's obviously a lot of debate surrounding this, and it can be turned off, but I am of the opinion that even interpolated frames, deriving from 2 sample frames is better than not having frames at all. I've watched the same videos on a 1080p 120hz tv, a 1080p 60hz tv and this one, and I prefer the 120 framerate. It does not seem different than the native 120hz 1080p screen, when the processor upsamples on the 60hz 4k TV.When using it as a pc monitor it would be best to minimize burn in by having a dynamic background (windows picture slide show with a decent speed of rotation) and similar screen saver with a short activation time. Also keep your remote handy, because while it will sleep and turn off by itself, it will not wake from mouse movement. The dual screen mode works with PC as well, so if you want to watch tv or play games on one side and have your PC on the other, you are more than welcome to. The curved feature cuts down on glare from room lighting and there are several options in the TV itself to adjust lighting automatically depending on the lighting in the room.I am still in the honeymoon phase of ownership, so I will update if any issues arise, but due to extensively researching this item first, and knowing exactly what issues to look for when testing it out, I can't foresee any potential problems. Amazon also offers several different brands of 5 year warranties for roughly 10% of the purchase price of the TV, which I took advantage of, as it seemed more than reasonable for the length of coverage. Very happy camper here.
Best TV I've ever owned!
May 23, 2015
I don't need to excessively reiterate what others have said about the picture quality because it truly is spectacular! So I'll focus on other aspects of this excellent product.I have been a loyal Samsung customer for the last eight years for several reasons. So far, they have demonstrated excellent reliability and build quality across several of their product lines, including not just TVs, but also with their Blu-ray players, cell phones, accessories, headphones, etc. Even when I did have a minor issue with another TV (2010 Samsung plasma HDTV), they happily sent out an excellent and courteous repair tech to my house, even though the TV was slightly out of warranty!SOFTWARE:So now here are my actual comments on this particular model (UN48JU7500). First off, Samsung has decided to pull a bold move and switch their smart TV OS platform over to Tizen. It's relatively new, so a few bugs here and there are expected, but so far they have been minor. What surprises me the most though is that they have been frequently updating / patching it. I have a wired ethernet connection for my TV, so the first update on day one was no problem. For those of you using WiFi only, the latest OS version (a little over 1 GB) is easily accessible on their website. Just load it onto a small USB drive and plug it into the back of the TV (I used the blue USB 3.0 port on the actual TV, not the ones on the One Connect Mini box). After that, WiFi will work perfectly. As of today (5/23/15), version 1214 of the OS is out. I did have a minor hiccup during the update though. The first online update brought me up to something like version 1016, but luckily I had an empty USB drive lying around. Initiating the update through the menu did not work as intended, but a quick reboot fixed that in no time; the software updates QUICKLY! Also worth noting is that for the longest time, smart TV user interfaces were slow and clunky... but Tizen running on the built-in quad-core processor is buttery smooth! Even the 3D glasses' firmware has been updated as well... or was that my imagination? I don't remember too well... oh well, LOL.By now, plenty of apps are available: streaming, games, educational, informational, etc... roughly 300 total so far! That's really good for such a new platform! Also, note that the TV comes with roughly 4 GB of internal storage for apps and content, and the OS itself uses up about 1.2~1.4 GB, but the apps are small so there's plenty of room to install as many as you want!4K and 3D:It's pretty well known that Samsung currently has the most options for 4K streaming content. Amazon has a decent library, Netflix has a small one, YouTube has several 4K videos, but I'm still waiting for the Comcast / Xfinity app to come out so I can have even more sweet sweet 4K goodness. I'd also like to note that the 4K upscaling is pretty darn good, even for old school standard definition (480i)! Luckily though, Seinfeld was actually filmed in widescreen:) Up close, of course you can tell the difference, but after sitting about 4 to 6 feet away, I can't even discern between 4K and 1080p, although I do have a very slight astigmatism in my right eye. Also, the video compression from Amazon and Netflix 4K streaming is barely noticeable. You have to look closely and have a trained eye to identify it, but that's really the content provider's issue. Now if 3D is your thing, VUDU has BY FAR the largest selection of streaming content, although the best movies can only be purchased at this time, rather than rented... and you'll be looking to drop anywhere between about $22 ~ $37... but hey, if you can afford this TV, you can afford to buy 3D movies for it, so quit whining about your first-world problems, LOL. Personally, if the 3D movie you want to watch is not available for rental, just buy the stupid 3D Blu-ray disc; the compression is superior... to the trained eye of course... but that might just be some sort placebo thing, haha. By the way, the 3D Blu-ray movies work great when played on my Xbox One!REMOTE:By far, the coolest feature about the remote is the Nintendo Wii-style motion tracking. Yes... you can use the OEM remote like a Wii controller!! It can also control my cable box! Overall, the remote takes a little getting used to since the number buttons are only available on the screen, but the Wii-style motion tracking mediates that issue. Another cool thing is that the remote works with the TV via RF, not traditional IR, so you don't need to have line-of-sight to the TV to use it. Also, because of that, some software updates will also include firmware updates for the remote. It seems that the remote does still also have an IR transmitter for working with other devices, but I'm too lazy to look that up in the manual, LOL.SOUND:One of the selling points for me on this TV was the inclusion of some decent woofers (20 W, in addition to the 20 W mid-high range speakers)... not sub-woofers though. So bass handling is better than my previous 2013 6-series LED Samsung TV, but not as good as my sound studio's bass response. I should note that in my spare time, I work as an audio engineer as I have formal acoustics graduate coursework under my belt as part of my engineering master's degree... yes, I like to gloat... a little... actually, A LOT, LOL.So you might be wondering why I didn't get something like a soundbar, or surround sound system... well that's because I'm kind of cheap... not too cheap, just a little, LOL. So having decent stock sound system was fairly important to me. With that said, sub-bass frequencies are somewhat there, but you're not really going to feel them, as in a nightclub. However, I was surprised that bass music sounds fairly acceptable and tight. Punchy kick drums decay well, so they're not muddy, and the distortion is minimal, and only noticeable to a trained ear. Speaking of which, after years in the studio I've developed a good ear for mixing and mastering music, so just by listening I was able to get a decently "flat" frequency response with some minor EQ tweaking, at least better than what I expect out of most TVs.SCREEN MIRRORING and DLNA:This worked better than I expected, and it was easy to setup! The screen mirroring wireless latency was roughly the same as with my former 2013 Samsung LED TV; about half a second! I wasn't able to test this using a wired connection via the MHL port though as my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge does not support MHL... I still don't know why they removed that feature, but whatever... again, first-world problems, LOL.What surprised me the most though was that unlike my old 2013 Samsung LED TV, this model supports wireless video content sharing (DLNA) in Full HD (1080p) from my iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 at 60 FRAMES PER SECOND (FPS)! Android has it built-in, so setting it up was easy. However, iPhone doesn't. Fortunately, there is a work-around because... wait for it... there's an app for that, LOL! You have a few options. I tried both Samsung's own Smart View 2.0 app and the AllCast app. Both worked FLAWLESSLY, again, even at 60 FPS! So at least I can share photos, videos, and music to my TV from my iPhone :) Also, screen mirroring and DLNA-sharing 4K content from my Galaxy S6 worked BEAUTIFULLY :) I have yet to try wireless screen mirroring with my laptop using WiDi, which I guess is based on the Miracast standard (??), but I may try that out soon and update this review.GAMING:So by now you can probably tell that I'm a huge nerd... so of course I'm going to do some gaming on this thing. First, let me just say that you don't need to put the TV into "Game Mode" to enjoy a low latency gaming experience. My best guess as to what Game Mode does is it eliminates or reduces some video post-processing that the TV applies to all displayed content?? Maybe the 4K upscaling?? I guess it reduces this to get the video rendered faster, giving you a slight latency advantage in fast-paced gaming, like first-person shooters and racing games. I didn't notice a difference in latency or video quality between Game Mode on and off... but I didn't really look too closely or examine this rigorously. So now that that's out of the way, video games look AMAZING on this thing. This is truly where the 4K upscaling shines. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare never looked so good... even better than on my 2010 Samsung plasma TV! "Ghosting" is non-existent, the picture is crystal clear, and the experience is immersive (thank you curved screen)... so who needs an Oculus Rift now? Not this guy, LOL... actually, I still really hope the Oculus eventually goes mainstream... but until then, I have this marvel of engineering! Also, when you get a chance, play fast-paced games with the "Auto Motion Plus" setting set to "Smooth"... you won't be disappointed. So stop thinking about it and just buy this TV! I struggled to decide between this model and its 6-series counterpart (UN48J6700). But the addition of woofers, 3D, curved screen (I know it's gimmicky, but I still like it), and the One Connect Mini box made the extra 400 or 500 bucks worth it! Speaking of which, I love the idea of the One Connect Mini. I wish it was the fully-featured, full-size One Connect, but hey, it's better than not having any sort of external upgradeable component, period. Although I do wonder if I can use a regular One Connect... haven't been able to find an answer to that yet.Again, seriously though, stop thinking about it and just get this stupid thing, LOL. Just eat only Ramen noodles for a month if you have to, just like you did in college... you'll thank me later. Cheers! :)
Yes, this is the best TV ever
March 22, 2015
Oh Wow!!! Seriously, this replaces my 70" Sharp Aquos and the two are not in the same area code. So I don't know if the TV is upscaling or not but the output looks much much better than the Sharp. We watched an old 80's movie the other night and it was amazing!! I honestly don't see an advantage with the curved TV. I don't really see the curve in my living room so if you're worried it is weird then don't be.. I bought a new Samsung Blu Ray DVD player that upscales all disks to UHD. Talk about an experience!! UHD for real!! So basically This TV finally and completely exceeds my expectations... Yes it is expensive but if you like watching movies then this is the TV for you!! So this TV has the One Connect box. What is that? Basically all the inputs and outputs go through this device(box) with one input to the TV. In 5 years when outputs change, you swap out the box, not the TV. It has 4 HDMI, USB, optical audio, and many many other inputs/outputs. At first I thought this was just a gimmick but actually it is pretty cool since there is only one actual input to the TV and all the inputs/outputs go into the box. There is also a Wii like controller which I don't often use but its cool. I like the apps but basically the TV is just simply the best TV I've ever owned. The picture is simply amazing!

You need a Smart TV that's 65" with vivid colors from a reliable manufacturer? Get this one
September 7, 2016
This is the best television I have ever owned. The picture is vivid and the color absolutely breathtaking. It can take an ordinary HD quality picture look its best. Let me talk a little about the Smart TV side of it. Let's face it, most "Smart TV" interfaces arrived on the scene with many unfulfilled promises. They were un-intuitive and sluggish; an exercise in frustration. This iteration gets it right. You can also play still or video images directly from a USB. The stand itself is secure, but anything this big makes me nervous (earthquakes!), so be sure to look into getting a cable to keep it anchored. For some reason, the screen does not act like a giant pet hair/dust trap, so I am cleaning it less often my 7-year-old Sony TV (which I've exiled to a bedroom). I have no idea why, but it's an unmentioned "feature" that I appreciate.
Amazing picture!
April 12, 2016
The picture on this tv is really pretty. The Smart hub has some issues with Netflix and YouTube. Those apps freeze up. The Amazon app works great and I've been able to watch some 4k content with Amazon prime. The web browser seems to work well too. I plugged in a keyboard and that worked as well. If the Netflix and YouTube apps were stable I'd give it 5 stars. I may come back and do just that if Samsung releases a software patch. Netflix and YouTube not working well is not a huge deal since I have a Roku. But my Roku only plays 1080p and the TV has 4k content available that I'd like to watch. So great set but please don't skimp on the software Samsung and please get those two important apps fixed.

Update on 8/29/16
I updated this TV with the latest firmware from Samsung and the TV apps work much better. We can watch YouTube in 4K and it looks amazing. We have Verizon FIOS at 15 MBs. The Netflix app is very stable as well. There is some buffering with Amazon video but it's not too bad.

Great product. Wifi adapter can stream 4K from router in back room. Simple remote with easy navigation. Amazon was very clear on delivery date and time, will call the day before and when they are on the way. Additionally, the delivery service will open, and assemble the TV and check for any damages before you sign for the delivery.

I have mine connected wireless through Samsung connect to a soundbar and sub-woofer. Wake up feature is a very interesting feature as well.

I would recommend getting a simple keyboard/mouse combo keyboard for web-browsing.
I highly recommend this TV.

We bought this to replace our 52" Samsung that was being relocated to the bedroom to replace our recently deceased Sony WEGA 42" plasma. This TV, while nowhere near the high end of Samsung's line, is beautiful and well made. The remote is the same as our other Samsung, so no learning curve of any kind. The Internet menu structure is different, sort of like the iPhone CoverFlow interface. It's very fast to access Netflix and Amazon Prime and the picture is absolutely STUNNING!

I highly recommend this TV.

April 10, 2015
I am giving this TV a 5 star rating based on quality and price. I really think for this size, this quality, under $1,000 dollars this is a 5 star TV. I did have some issues as other users mentioned on previous posts, but this has nothing to do with the two factors above that I mentioned. Yes I was not able to connect to my WiFi even after changing the encryption method several times and resetting my router and modem, but a short call to Samsung tech support and a firmware upgrade everything worked as a charm. The one thing you should be aware of is the SmartHub. It is not the same as in previous models so do not look for YouTube videos or old manuals. From what I understand, this new version of the SmartHub is based on a new operating system (Tizen) and it looks totally different. Initially very few apps were available, but every day there are new ones popping up. Netflix is now available as is AmazonPrime. I am still waiting on Skype.
Also, before you talk about quality, make sure you watch a real 4K video. I have used the YouTube app to search and play 4K video samples, as well as connected to my laptop that can produce 4K hdmi output, and the quality is AMAZING. It also has a lot less glare from my old Samsung which had a "regular" glass. This one, mounted above a fireplace, and next to a very bright bay window that brings sun in all afternoon, and you still watch TV without having to close the shades. 5 stars all the way ... *****

Flawless Picture. Horrible user interface and remote.
December 8, 2016
I have had it for 8 months. Picture is awesome. 4k works flawlessly on Netflix. 3D also is great.I find I like Dynamic setting more than on my 55" Samsung 3D TV. That setting still has a little of the soap opera effect, but not as bad as previous generations. They lose 1 star for the remote and settings interface. Those are horrible. I like the way they did it on my 55". Wish Samsung would learn user interfaces and preferences better. Samsung is out of touch with how users want to interact with electronics. They did master how the TV should perform, though.
Great TV, bad customer service AMAZON c'mon
March 31, 2016
The TV is really impressive out of the box. Great picture. NO, AMAZING picture. We had issues with the 3rd party installation team LSS. They cancelled twice, and finally cancelled the entire order! No instructions, no options, Amazon left us to do the heavy lifting and install it ourselves. Plus, this is after they made us wait a week to get a scheduled appointment. Anyway, that's how good this TV picture is. They provided horrible customer service and I'm still happy about the TV picture. There are two drawbacks. FIRST, I would mention that the ONE CONNECT HDMI CONNECTIONS ARE NOT BUILT IN TO THE TV. I spent 20 mins trying to figure out where the HDMI connectors were on the back of the TV. The 4 HDMI connection hub is an extra brick sized device that connects via cable provided. It's like connecting an extra Blu Ray device to the back of the TV. You need to make space for it, hide the cables, etc. Not ideal. SECOND, spacers are provided to mount using your regular straight brackets, but no screws. The screws needed are longer than our bracket screws so good thing we have a lifelong collection of screws and bolts.Setup was very easy (so far). It sensed TV connections, source, picture size, audio, and everything TV-related worked right out of the box. I'll do the SMART internet connections later when I have to re-run the cables etc. So much for buying the specialized install services!!! OK, maybe I'm not 100% over the blowoff because I'm still very sore from jerking around this big TV.Buy this TV and you will feel great. However, don't buy the extra services from Amazon.
Curve TV, 4K HD and Samsung Overall
December 20, 2015
The thing about this tv that interested me a lot was the curve. While I'd never buy a tv based on the curve alone, I can say it's something to take notice of. When you add the curve, 4K and the clarity Samsung is known for, what could go wrong? Well, sadly a few things especially considering the price range it falls in.Don't get me wrong, I love the tv but none of it's selling aspects seem all that important to me. I'll start with the curve. The curve gained a lot of popularity and I noticed technical reviews actually state that viewing angles are far less. The truth is, the viewing angle isn't all that much less if at all. When you watch a flat screen tv do you stand directly beside it? The answer is generally no because flat or curve at that angle it's distorted and unnatural for anyone to watch it. That being said, you can actually watch this tv from all your normal angles. What's interesting to me is that despite all the angles you can watch it from you actually only benefit from the curve when seated in front of it rather than to the side. From the front of the tv it looks completely flat and yet for some odd reason it gave me the feeling of being more natural to watch. Obviously this natural feeling can be linked to the fact that our eyes are not flat and how we pick up our surroundings are different than the detail right in front. When I watched shows and movies I noticed that the curve helps in letting my eyes see more details compared to a large flat screen where my eyes either focus at the center or the main object on the screen. With the curve tv I found my eyes moving around less. Now, there was one area that I noticed a big difference with the curve. If you watch a movie in the dark it'll be considerably more vivid than a flat screen in the dark. To me I suspect this was because the light is angled inward just slightly more which allows more focused light which means a more vivid picture. A flat screen tv kind of just throws light all over the place. However, despite all of those good things I have to admit that I'd never buy the tv for the curve. It's a great bonus but really it's not a necessity because the curve is a lot less than I was given the impression of. If people are worried about there being too much of a curve I can definitely tell you that it's not much of one at all. It's not a bad thing but it's also not as exaggerated and beneficial as Samsung would have you believe.4K and Samsung, a couple made in heaven? The thing about 4K is that there isn't a lot of content and probably never will be since tv brands are already trying out 8K. I know it sounds a bit grim but that's how it is currently and for the foreseeable future. However this doesn't mean that 4K isn't amazing when you use it with 4K content found on YouTube or Blu-Ray movies. I work with a guy who kept telling me how 4K feels like you can reach out and touch what's on the screen and that got me really excited. Having truly experienced it at my home rather than a glimpse at the store, I can say people are exaggerating 4K a lot. It is amazing, but not the kind of amazing where you feel like you can touch the actual image. I found the detail to be remarkable especially with how Samsung paired it with the picture technology that provides better quality overall. I tested it out and seeing the detail of a snake, or the crispness of each hair on an animal was very impressive. I would probably base my future purchases on 4K-8K because once you see it, it leaves this feeling of wanting more 4K content which is where the sadness kicks in. 4K content takes more to stream and it can leave some stuttering which takes away at the immersive feeling. The stuttering has nothing to do with Samsung, it's just that the USA is still behind in internet speeds (if you doubt me research it). All that being said, Samsung provides a great picture quality and having it in 4K all comes together to make this tv worth the price it costs. In the end my final thoughts vary. I love the 4K even if it wasn't as great as many keep saying. I like the curve, again even though everyone seems to exaggerate it's benefits (manufacturers mostly). There was one huge downside that I've noticed so far but it's nothing to warrant me returning it. Samsung still hasn't learned how to make a tv without a very laggy interface. When I try to change the input the tv feels like it's not even responding when I first turn it on. Then when the menu pops up it goes away because it's still catching up with the couple of times I hit the button. When I turn on a tv I expect the necessities to work before everything else and that's not the case here. It creates a very annoying experience which I expect to be fixed when you start nearing the $2,000 mark. Sadly, Samsung isn't the only one to have a sluggish interface but theirs is far from being the fastest. I have tried several smart tv brands and Samsung has nothing special in that category. Another thing I disliked is how expensive their sound bars are for these brands of tv. A curved sound bar costs an insane amount but the features don't really feel all that great. Also the remote that comes with the tv can be a plus or negative. There are no channel buttons on the actual remotes, instead you have to click a button on the remote to bring up a digital remote. For me I welcome the smaller remote with the cool curved hand design, but for some people this could be an inconvenience. Overall I love the tv and if I had to put a number on it I'd give it a 7.5/10. It's amazing but that experience falters with it's sluggish user interface.
Not Plasma...but Pretty Darn Good
November 26, 2015
We were faced with a TV purchase after our beloved Panasonic plasma died. At ten years old, we just couldn't get parts. We tried two other Samsung flatscreens (different models) and hated them. The second one had pixels going out after a week's use, and distortion and artifacts on the sound. The third time, the Samsung UN55JU7500, turned out to be quite satisfactory. We're pretty happy with it. The 4K resolution adds a lot of smoothness to the picture, though we've been spoiled by the plasma for off-angle viewing: this one starts to wash out once you get about 30 degrees from center viewing, and beyond that, you've got a pastel picture. We did have a fault with the inputs at one point and asked, via the service contact on the TV, for assistance. We resolved the problem ourselves (unplugging set, wait 20 minutes, plug back in: all fixed), but Samsung customer service was, to their credit, very insistent about calling us on the phone until they caught us at home and we assured them that we'd solved the problem. Unlike a plasma set, this is a pretty light weight unit, though not flimsy. And the sound is very good: we'd bought a sound bar speaker for one of the previous sets we tried because the audio was so bad, but once we heard this one, we put the sound bar back in its box and put it in storage. If we want something earth-shattering, we run the sound output through the home stereo with the subwoofer and rattle the house (and, doubtless, the neighbors). To be honest, the curved shape seems to be a solution in search of a problem, and we've never used the 3D feature or the smart features: for the latter, the PS3 takes care of everything. We're pretty happy with the set. If it lasts as long as the plasma did, we'll be quite satisfied, but it is definitely lower in cost than an equivalent sized plasma, so a replacement will not be so heart-rending. All in all, a good compromise.
Loving it!
September 2, 2015
Love it!!! Curved, 3d, good settings. But..now after having it for 2 weeks, the film behind the screen got pulled outta position and wrinkled a little bit. When a picture is on, can't really tell or see anything unless the picture is mostly white in that area. When you can see it, it looks like 2 points on the edge of the screen is warped just like a wrinkle on a tshirt. My toddler may have touched the TV thus causing it. So as a warning to everyone, this is probably more delicate than any TV I've owned, so find a way that it won't come close to a child's curious hands.
It's a Personal Product; Extremely Satisfied.

Update 11/29/2016Final Fantasy XV on the PS4 Pro has an HDR Toggle. When I toggled HDR, it seemed the TV just bumped the contrast way up. I check the TV settings and sure enough 100% contrast was enabled. Not sure if any other settings were changed. See pictures.--Update 11/26/2016And just for the curious, I've attached a picture of the 4K settings as reported by the XBOX One S. It says it supports 10bit so I dunno. I know from the forums there's been debate between 10bit vs 8bit and also luck-of-the-draw with the panel you get. Amazon Grand Tour in 4k looks way better on the XBOX One S than on the PS4 Pro, subjectively; it's not even close as of this writing.--Update 11/12/2016 (part 2):"The JU7500 uses an 8-bit Ultra Clear Pro panel, along with Precision Black local dimming and Auto Depth Enhancer. Although the JU7500 doesn't support high dynamic range (HDR) it does include Peak Illuminator for improving the dynamic range. The Samsung also includes PureColour but it doesn't have the wider colour gamut found on the more expensive models." - avforums.com ReviewAs an analogy, think of the UN65JU7500 as having psuedo 4G HSPA+ instead of legit 4G LTE despite it being stamped as 4G by the system. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare campaign looks incredibly good in 4K with Psuedo-HDR.--Update 11/12/2016:I got the PS4 Pro. There is indeed HDR support. You just go to "Picture Options" and Select "HDMI UHD Color" and enable it for the HDMI Input accordingly. See picture.--I also purchased the Samsung Electronics CY-SUC10SH1 UHD Video Pack. I was not particularly impressed with the included UHD movies. However, some of the documentaries, including one titled "The Last Reef" was amazing. Additionally, some of the 4k YouTube content was breathtaking.Picture Quality. The bottom line is that this TV has the best picture quality from my subjective viewings. I have a few sets in my home. The black levels are not as deep as my Panasonic TC-P60U50 60-Inch 600Hz Plasma HDTV (2012 Model) but are very good nonetheless. Color and Clarity surpass both the Sharp LC-80LE844U 80-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED-Lit 3D Internet TV (Old Version) and Sharp LC-80LE857 80-inch Aquos Quattron 1080p 240Hz Smart LED 3D HDTV quite easily.Features. I thoroughly enjoy the Smart TV features of the Samsung. Unlike both Sharp Smart TV sets mentioned earlier, the apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime load very quickly--it's as if you were using a Fire TV, XBOX One, or PS4. There is also a My Content tab which includes your Network Shares, Plex Media Server, or Samsung UHD Movies if you purchased the Samsung Electronics CY-SUC10SH1 UHD Video Pack.Gaming. There is very little input lag. I play Destiny, a first person shooter, quite a bit and am able to game very comfortably. I've also enjoyed a multitude of other games on this TV and have not noticed any lag in any of my playthroughs--regardless of whether the Game feature is enabled or disabled.Despite all the pros, this is a television for the selfish viewer. I use it in a small room. I had my wife sitting next to me and she complained that the viewing angle was not the best. But for head-on viewing at a roughly six foot viewing distance, the curved screen adds to the immersion. For those who were able to purchase this TV for $1500 or less during the Black Friday sales, I am envious. Great value.

great!.. for limited and accomidating features
July 6, 2017
nice display, apps need improvement, little difficulty in some display functions that attribute the T.V. a little scary with the contribution of the reverse display capeability. fully functionally excellent burbon for my college bound entertainment system. would like to see temporary notification of phone messages functionality, social media, ect. scheduled viewing is absolutely obsolete. a revised walk through is needed when connecting media capeability... soo teadious... haven't got to play with the dvr but am expecting it to be a hassel as though it were a scheduled viewing. web viewing is confusing with bookmarks and history with undetailed explaination how to use it, while being limited in what file is acceptable to its configuration during download. also as big as the smart remote is they coulda atleast have a keyboard on the flip side of the remote; if the gesture feature couldn't already do that for you...
All has been great but we have had this tv lose audio and ...
August 3, 2016
I would give this 5 starts but the first tv we received would suddenly lose the picture and the video almost as if you turned it off, this happened within the first 2 weeks. At first I thought maybe the cat stepped on the remote and shut it but no it started happening more frequently. We were sent a replacement and they came and set it up. All has been great but we have had this tv lose audio and video once since we got the replacement. If it happens again I will contact amazon/seller. The picture is fantastic on this set as is the ease of use and has a great remote control. We do love this set (we have a smaller Samsung for our bedroom now for several years and love it). I am really hoping there are no further issues with the set.
I love this TV
April 5, 2016
I love this TV. The picture quality of this vs the old Samsung LED TV we had is absolutely night and day. 4k content via Netflix is incredible, blu-ray movies that I thought looked amazing on our old TV are noticeable better on this, and even non-4k content via Hulu and some of our other apps are just a noticeably better quality. The only complaint I have is that the speakers are sub-par, but realistically, what TV speakers aren't. We have an AppleTV, so we listen to our music through the TV quite often, so sound is a big deal to us (which is why we pair the TV with a Bose Solo 15 Series II). I even gave it a fair chance before writing this review and watched a blu-ray (Black Mass) using just the TV speakers, and seriously if we didn't have an external system I would have a hard time saying this is worth almost $1k of my money. Sound is a big part of the home theater experience, so skimping on the speakers is something Samsung shouldn't do. Overall, though, I'd say it's a great product, and I'd recommend it to a friend.
Samsung 6500 48-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV
December 27, 2015
This set replaces an eight year old 5 series Samsung HD that began to have startup issues. The Samsung 4k 6500 replacement is a big step up in picture and sound quality. The picture seems almost 3D due to the outstanding sharpness, almost eerie! I was not expecting such sharpness. The sound quality is also a big improvement. Setup was easy and the manual is well written and user friendly. Cable connections in the back are logical and straight forward to configure. The onscreen tools are user friendly and uncomplicated. The remote is well laid out and easy to use. The internet connection took a little time to set up but no problems in doing so. My biggest surprise is definitely the sharpness and sound quality. The TV is securely placed on a TV console. The pedestal is easy to attach and secure.

I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend the 4k 6500 to anyone looking for a good quality TV at an excellent price point. Having the TV shipped via UPS was somewhat of a concern but it arrived promptly and securely packaged with no carton dents or tears packed in its own box. The grasp handles on each side of the box were a simple welcome feature.
So far, So good.
August 8, 2015
I've had the TV for over a month now, and so far, it's still working. It was a little bit of a "learning curve" for me to set it up. It was my first flat-screen TV, and I had to get an upgrade on my satellite dish, and my kid was away at school, so I managed to set it up myself. Color is good, sound is okay with the built-in speakers, but if you want the loud, movie-experience, you better buy a sound bar with a built-in amp. I feel I'm not very qualified to critique this TV any further because I really haven't had any negative issues with it, since I didn't get into the menus too deep. I can find out on-line what other people have to say, and some suggest ways to adjust the settings to certain levels to fine tune the TV for a better viewing experience. I have noticed movies have that staged "soap opera effect", which is kind of goofy, but I think it can be minimized by making certain adjustments in the menus. Overall, the Samsung TV is so much better than the 24 year old, 100 pound behemoth that it replaced.

Light Bleed/Clouds on mine.
July 7, 2016
It's a great TV for the price and I absolutely love it BUT the only draw back ( at least with my model )...sigh...light bleed. Any black screen shows patches of clouds. It's very aggravating and distracting. I called customer service and I have a service representative stopping by today. We'll see what he can say. I am not sure if light bleed can be fixed. If not they should replace it for me...I hope.
If you intend to use this as a monitor, wait for the next generation.
May 15, 2016
I use this TV as a PC monitor. I switched from a Dell U3011 30" IPS, which I loved. I'm also very particular about my monitors. If you're considering buying one for a PC monitor, wait until the technology matures a bit more.Out of the box, the picture looked terrible. I had to fiddle with the controls for hours to get it close to acceptable. Still, there are problems. Even with the curve, the picture becomes washed out or dark if you're not looking from just the right angle. There are sub-pixel striations on some colors -- especially oranges. Closely examining the screen, it appears that each pixel is made of six sub-pixels -- a top RGB and a bottom RGB cluster. Sometimes, colors will have one of the clusters brighter than the other, resulting in striped rather than solid colors. The default sharpness and motion enhancement settings created some very nasty effects. Motion had blocky artifacts. Those went away when disabling some motion settings. Excessive sharpness had an awful effect on text, but I could fix that by turning it down to about 30%. Some of the difficulty reading text was fixed by changing to 4:4:4 color mode.It doesn't integrate well with Windows power saving. If you turn the monitor off, all windows get resized. Since the TV plugs into a breakout box, which then plugs in to the video card, Windows thinks all monitors have been removed when it turns off. Windows then resizes the desktop to a low resolution, squishing down all open programs. There's supposed to be a registry fix for this, but it didn't work for me. I'm still looking in to it.It's slow enough that I have to retard video playback to synch with audio. I can also feel how slow it is with my mouse pointer. There is a very perceptible delay compared to a real PC monitor. This could just be my particular TV, but it will flicker off then back on after about 30 seconds from turning it on.It's also very reflective. I have to turn off the lights in the room to watch movies, or else I see myself distorted as in a carnival mirror.Pros:- It's big- Looks good when watching movies (what it's really intended for)Cons:- Noticably slow response- Severe wash-out if you're too close- Default settings have extreme motion blur and artifacts- Doesn't integrate well with power saving schemes- Odd striations on some solid colors- Flickers off sometimes- Too reflective
TV is fantastic but 3D could use some work.
April 11, 2016
I've had the television for 2 weeks. Upgraded from a 40" LCD Samsung of 2008. This is a vast improvement.Colors are very rich and deep, the details are crisp, and the ghosting effect is gone (as long as the contrast features are all turned off). I fiddled with the settings for about 2 hours to get it tuned in the way I like it, but it's easy to find the best calibration settings with a quick web search. However, the "movie" settings out of the box are excellent.I have not had a chance to watch any of the 4k blu rays yet, but I did watch some regular blu rays, and they look great upscaled on this set. The curved screen gives a movie theatre effect by engaging more of your peripheral vision, creating a more immersive experience. The sound is pretty clear considering they are box speakers in the television. I use a cheap Yamaha surround sound for slightly better sound with a louder center speaker. The 3D feature is fun to have, but I feel like it's not perfected. 80% of the image looks great, but the other 20% always looks blurred and layered. You can see the image on top of itself as if you didn't have the glasses on. The center of the image looks great, but the upper 10% and lower 10% of the screen seems out of focus. If you adjust the 3D settings, you can get those portions of the screen corrected, but then the center looks out of focus and has crazy layers. So you almost have to choose which part of the screen you want in focus. Live action seems to look superior to animation, which surprised me. X-Men Days of Future Past and Ant-Man look phenomenal with little crosstalk, while Despicable Me and How to Train your Dragon 2 look great in some shots, and horrible in others. In summary, this TV looks great for movies, TV shows and sports, but 3D movies suffer with image issues. If you don't care about 3D, save yourself the $200 and get the same TV without the 3D feature. I'm hoping for a firmware/software update in the future to correct 3D issues.Update - Samsung is replacing my TV, so maybe my issues were isolated. We will see.
Not sure whether it is caused by the TV or ...
March 7, 2016
Not sure whether it is caused by the TV or not... but using the internet features ( such as Netflix ) is extremely unreliable, while the exactly same, at same time on another device, using teh same Internet connection works smoothly.
Version ISO not worth the retail price.
January 25, 2016
Unfortunately I received the ISO version and the image quality is not as good as my 55JU6700 which has a Samsung panel. Regardless it's good enough considering the price I paid $1,028, but wouldn't touch it at the $1,599 it was retailing without knowing it had a Samsung panel. Others with this model who have given it better reviews most likely got the Samsung panel. I only recently learned of this so called panel lottery after I couldn't get this TV to calibrate as perfectly as my other models. I guess it's a gamble with this model, good luck to the winners.
Good TV but Lack of Content
December 10, 2015
Although 4K TVs are becoming cheaper and cheaper by the years, there is a large problem with buying one now. There is just a complete lack of 4K content that utilizes this TV. Each streaming service I have looked into including Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hulu havr a very small amount of 4K content and cable television does not broadcast at this quality either. The only large amount of content that utilizes 4K would be PC video games which unless you have a multi thousand dollar machine you won't be able to run games at a stable high frame rate. This tv "scales" content up but often looks worse than it would on a 1080p screen. Eventually this TV will become much more useful, but it may take another few years before 4K becomes the new standard in movies and games.

Samsung 6500

very disappointed with this tv. i own 3 other samsung tv's and love them. This tv has sound problems thru the hdmi 1 port and the picture goes in and out on port 2. I tried to view 4k content thru you tube and can tell no difference than the normal picture..unfortunately i had the tv for about 21/2 weeks and then went on vacation. When I returned and tried to return it i got a message thru amazon that it was no longer eligible to be returned. I would not recommend this tv.
Great TV so long as you don't have high hopes for its "SMART" features
June 26, 2016
The price is good and the picture quality is excellent. Moreover, I have it on good authority from two different television repair shops in San Francisco that Samsung is one of only two manufacturers who deliberately design there TVs to be repairable, and in fact is the best in this dimension. That's important because TVs often fail (my last one did) because just one component fails (e.g., the power supply), but everything else is fine. When the internal parts are all glued together, or have weird fasteners, or are difficult to find or are very expensive, then repairing becomes not an option. In that case, you're living on borrowed time and when it does die in 2 years or so (well after the warranty's expired) it's off to the landfill it goes. So, all those characteristics are good.

Now for the bad. The "SMART" features of this Smart TV just aren't that good. Here's what I mean. It comes with apps for most of the usual suspects (Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Crackle, etc.). The apps themselves are fine (pretty standard interfaces), but launching them is sometimes "iffy." They sometimes fail to launch, and sometimes do that silently. Sometimes, they die. Moreover, while there's a giant "marketplace" of apps you can install, God help you if you want to install more than 1 or 2 extra. The TV's internal memory is just to small to support very many apps, and I'm not sure it's possible to upgrade the memory. In general, my "set-top box" experience is far superior with dedicated devices (Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire Stick...I own them all), and in this Samsung TV that seems a bit of an after-thought, sort of tacked on.
Great picture quality and function, but issues with flares and dots dropped the rating
January 8, 2016
Picture is great with upscaling. Plays most video formats through the smart hub interface from my network NAS drive connected to the router. Out of the box the picture needs to be adjusted for optimum quality. There are several very good reviews with recommendations for settings. Sound quality has improved over past Samsung TVs at this price point, but I went ahead and purchased the Yamaha sound bar and mounted on the wall just below the TV. I was disappointed when streaming 4K content from Amazon Prime Video using the app on the TV. It may be my ISP or other reason, but it just looked DVD quality and not as good as over the air programming upscaled. I was hoping for better streaming quality.

Pros: Great upscaled picture quality once settings are correct. Sound better than average for TV speakers. Lots of apps and most work well except as stated above. Supports playback of a number of different video codecs.

Cons: Here is where it lost two stars, flares and dots. The left side of the screen and near the corners on the left side have flares (lighter areas along the edges) during dark scenes. Also on dark scenes there are three purple dots, not pixels, but dots about the size of pencil eraser than are persistent in the bottom right quadrant. They are most noticeable during dark scenes but if you get up close you can see them even on lighter scenes. Another negative is the power cord is short. Mine is only about 5 feet long. It has special right angle connectors on each end which helps it fit close to the wall, but the cord is too short to reach my outlet when mounted on the wall. I had to run an extension cord.

Overall I like the TV and haven't decided if it is worth the hassle to send it back. That is where you take your chances buying over the internet. If I had bought it from a local retailer I would have already exchanged it.
I've noticed a low humming noise from the rear of the TV, while off?
December 21, 2015
I just set it up and so far, so good. I have a 75' Samsung in the living room and that picture is awesome. The picture on this 60 is comparable if not equal in clear and color quality to the 75'.

I don't delve into the intricate and consuming picture adjustments, I'd go insane. I concentrate on Dynamic and Natural modes and play with the black levels and some other settings (minor) but I try to keep it simple. Honestly these TV's are high end enough they should have a nice pictures however it greatly depend on the broadcast on how well the TV displays.

Take off that Automotion regardless, that is my baseline. As I mentioned I go back and forth with those 2 modes depending on the time of day and amount of light in the room with any of my TV's. Overall great TV and for less than 1200 for a 60' Samsung this was a deal for us.

A bummer was we had a older version of Fire Stick and you need the 2nd generation (4K compatible) to watch with this TV.

I've noticed a low humming noise from the rear of the TV, while off? I mean so far I haven't any issues with the TV.
Great TV for price, but a few issues to point out....
November 17, 2015
I've had this TV for over a week not and I must say, for the price of a little under 1k it is the best purchase I've ever made. 4k Resolution is outstanding, and running 4k at 60Hz from my PC is breath taking when playing games.

The choice of apps is the usual from any smart TV, but having the option to install more is always a positive. However, the interface could use some work in some built in apps. The memory of the TV as well is minimal, so you won't be install every app you can find, which is to be expected as this is a TV not a phone or other mobile device.

The TV's remote is in "No" way smart TV friendly. Navigating a keyboard is a challenge with a 4 directional keypad, and browsing the web is near impossible with the provided remote.

With the unit I received there have some issues with inconsistent black levels. I do have a very noticeable white cloudy area on the top left of the TV. You won't be bothered while watching bright lit scenes. However, if watching a movie with dark scenes there is a considerable Cloud issue. Perhaps I'm just lucky and got a defective TV, however I am getting the TV replaced due to this defect issue. (See Picture) The picture is a lot worse then it really is, but it is still noticeable to say the least.

Overall, I greatly enjoy the TV, but these few minor issues really do bring out the negatives of the TV.

Not a great TV
October 4, 2017
The TV image is OK but ........The image auto dims in the top half of the screen during the day. No adjustment works. The apps don't work, so the TV is really a dumb TV. Some help sites say that I have to fixed the DNS code for the TV and router. If you have to fool around with your router setting to get apps to work this is not the TV for me. BTW I was using the NBA apps which hangs. I have other devices that can access the NBA app so the problem is definitely this TV.The screen glare is rather extreme. So all in all not a great TV
I love the TV
November 10, 2016
So heres the deal. I love the TV.......drum roll... when its working. I bought this TV back in July and after 2 months I started to experience a flickering on the bottom part of my screen. So I called Samsung support, and to be surprised they were very quick and easy to work with. I did not wait on hold long. They sent a repair company out to my house within 3 days. The repair company came and replaced my entire screen. it took him about 30 minutes. So now that the TV was working again, I was very happy with the picture. Honestly it is very clear and very bright. I really like the operating system that lets me pin all my favorite apps to the home page. If you play video games the bright setting looks amazing. So now here we are today. I started to get flickering on the middle part of my screen. At this point with my girlfriend having to send her NOTE 7 back becuase of the battery and me having the same issues on the screen for a second time I am about ready to give up on them. The only thing that gets me is just how good this tv looks. So I called Samsung and they are trying to send me another repair company. Problem is the company that last came out to repair it wont come fix it because they dont want to get a bad review. So now I am having to send videos and photos to prove I am having issues. So since July the tv has broken twice. At this point I just wish samsung would just send me the 2016 version of this TV brand new! This is ridiculous. Now, I am not saying this will happen to all of you. But if I could give 5 stars for picture quality I would. But for quality. I am giving it close to zero.SAMSUNG IF YOU ARE OUT THERE AND READING THIS.. CONTACT ME AND SEND ME A NEW TV.. THIS ISNT FAIR
Beautiful picture, with excellent colors. . .except for those bad pixels.

Ratings:Image Quality - *****Build Quality - ****Physical Design - ****Menu Layout - **Quality Control - *Packaging - ****Overview:This 4K curved Samsung television does produce a overall pleasing image once calibrated (10 pt white balance per Rtings.com [...]). This screen, the 48" version, was to be used as a monitor for my computer at home. This is where I work on all of my photography, as well as play a few games from time to time. Sadly though I went through 2 of these panels, while ultimately receiving my money back due to both being bad from pixel issues. Also, I will never purchase another television from Amazon that requires the "enhanced delivery".Good:For the photography work, I was honestly very surprised at just how nice it is to work in 4K - the images look spectacular with such a large pixel density. The color reproduction of this screen, while not calibrated with a colorimeter currently, is still performed very well.Gaming was nice as well, though that depends a lot on the game obviously. Most newer, more recent games support larger format resolutions, such as 4K. Others however, while they may allow you to use the larger resolution, ultimately have nothing in real life results to offer - best to just be played at 1080p upscaled, as there is no justification for any loss of performance. By far the best use for this 4K screen I found to be with simulations, racing in particular. The lovely thing of PC gaming is the ability to setup and execute custom resolutions (both ATi and Nvidia support this functionality). The key is to allow the GPU to do the scaling, then for example, use a custom resolution of 3840x1440 to be wonderfully rewarded with an ultrawide experience, even wider than the current 21:9 ultrawide monitors being sold. I found this to be the perfect resolution for racing simulators, such as Assetto Corsa. Example screen shot can be seen below in photos.Multitasking - it is great at 4K on a screen of this size. Having multiple spreadsheets up, or just multiple programs at once is excellent. I could see this being a pain on a smaller, true monitor, as opposed to a larger television screen. On a monitor, everything would be so incredibly small, not sure it would be beneficial at that point.Bad:Yes, now the bad. Per the usage have stated above, this screen is within fairly close proximity to me in daily use - 5 ft +/- 6 in. The photography work obviously puts a panel under tough scrutiny, as any flaws in the screen itself will show up easily. After receiving 2 of these TV's (replacement for the first one), both of them were returned fairly quickly. Both of these panels had bad pixels, with the primary issue being the stuck/hot pixels for each. The first one had a few dead pixels as well, though these are not as big of a distraction, while the 2nd one had 0 truly dead pixels - only stuck/hot. The location of these pixels were not evenly distributed among either panel either, which only exacerbated this issue. While the stuck/hot pixels on the first were white, the 2nd panels were primarily green and red. You can find an image below of one of the groups of pixels, this group being from the 2nd TV.Over the years I have had many LCD screens, as well as obviously several friends that have had quite a few. All of us have always purchased either LG or Samsung screens, and I must say that the LG screens have had 0 pixels issues when brand new. They have exhibited "decay" over time, with dead pixels appearing after a few years of quality service, but none when new. The same cannot be said with the Samsung panels over the years. In the last 8 or so years, between myself and friends, I have seen approx. 10 different panels, with at least 7 of them having dead and/or stuck pixels when brand new from the factory. Obviously this is not a massive sample size by any means, but this has been my experience. On top of the pixels, both panels had back lighting issues on the right edge of the panels. No matter what was displayed, dark or light, the issue was present. On lighter images, this manifested into approximately 2 inch wide area being slightly discolored compared to the rest of the screen."Enhanced Delivery":The only thing that was enhanced about the delivery was the level of frustration and issues. After speaking with Amazon after the first delivery, I found out they primarily use 4 main companies for this service. For my location, this fell to the company Pilot. My experience with them has been horrible.Delivering the first TV, they provided a window of 9 AM to 9 PM. Supposedly would contact me prior in order to narrow this time window down. The only contact I received to do so was just 20 minutes prior to showing up at my house. Upon arriving, they opened the rear truck gate (very large cargo truck, similar to what you could rent from Penske) only for me to find the TV haphazardly laying screen side down on top of amother larger box - neither of these were secured in any manner. Considering it was the next to last stop for them (I live in the mountains), and how they were just sitting angled against a wall, it was obvious they had been sliding around quite a bit. The box was damaged in one corner, though not through the foam - the TV had no damage. The driver asked his coworker to "toss the TV down" to him...which he practically did just that. The second TV came perfectly - in a smaller transit van, with additional foam corners on outside of the box, securely strapped to the side of the van. This was because this was an additinal SUBCONTRACTED individual. So the subcontractor of Amazon subcontracted the business out. Very nice people though, and INFINITELY better than Pilot was, however Pilot did not notify him he was to pick up my return TV. This meant he had no return shipping label (as they are supposed to), or anything of the nature. I called and "confirmed" with Pilot before hand, at which point I was told, "Oh yeah, it'll be fine. Just give it to the guy and tell them you spoke with me."Ridiculous.Others may be ok, however I would avoid Pilot at all costs. In fact, I returned the 2nd for refund and bought a different television with standard Prime shipping simply to avoid using Pilot again. The Curve:The curve can be good, as well as being completely useless. Since day one of their release in the consumer market I have been completely against them for any "typical" use in the living room environment. The curve ultimately does very little to no good if you are beyond the focal point of the curvature. One may say, "but screens at movie theaters are curved, so it must be better?!" While this is a true statement, think of how large that screen is. . .you are within the focal point of the screen. Also, I am 100% in agreeance with the usage of a curved screen for a projector, as the image is being projected from essentially a single point. This means the light is being sent out from roughly the equivalent of a single point, from which the light will travel outward in a spherical direction. This results in the light traveling further to the corners of the screen as compared to the center - this means they will be dimmer than the center. The larger you go with projector screen size, the worse this will be apparently - curved screens fix this issue however, when the projector is at the focal point of the curve.Long side note there, however getting back on topic. . .I do believe a curved screen still has its place in the home. However, I believe this usage to be when the seating location is within the focal point of the curve - a TV being used as a computer monitor for example.
Edge-Lit LED TVs need to go the way of the Dinos.
January 9, 2016
Thought I would try this curved TV from Samsung. The picture overall was good when the screen was filled with a moving picture, but during an all gray, all white or all of a single color scene there was quite a bit of flashlighting, dirty-screen-effect, vertical light banding that I find unacceptable in a TV of this price. You'd think after all of these years of building edge-lit LED TV's, Samsung would have ironed out the crappy lighting. Well, I guess not. I sent the TV back and I am awaiting a refund. I think I am going to wait until the 2016 OLED TV's and full-array LED's come down in price a bit and try again. This TV is the last edge-lit LED TV I ever buy.. too many inconsistencies and crap shoots to get a homogeneous lit screen. The other thought is that with a 4K TV I will probably go with a 75". The 65" wasn't a dramatic enough improvement in size over my existing 55"er.
Great picture but dumb for a smart tv
January 7, 2016
The picture is amazing. You can see every single blemish on the faces of Hollywoods most popular celebrities.edit: so after several months of using what I thought to be a great tv, I am quickly realizing there is not a lot of support for the apps. The whole reason I bought a smart tv is because I don't watch cable or DVDs, I stream everything, so I thought this tv would be perfect. Now I am finding out that a lot of steaming services are not available. Prime example is HBO now, which is available on the newer 2016 models of Samsung TVs but not the models that came out just a few months back. I can go out and buy a Roku and get a better selection of apps.
I really wanted to like this TV
September 2, 2015
I really wanted to like this TV. It's a great looking set, aesthetics wise. The PQ is no slouch either. This model consists of a direct LED backlight with local dimming. But don't be fooled by this. It's not a true FALD. The zones are very limited and the implementation of the direct LED backlight and local dimming is inferior to some with edge light with local dimming. Because of this, the 4 corners are considerably darker than the rest of the picture. This is unacceptable in a TV in this price range. When watching a movie with top and bottom black bars, it's fine. But most of the content do not have these black bars. When playing PS4, such as Destiny, you can see that the skies are darker towards the corners. But it's not just isolated to the corners. The darkness bleeds into the rest of the sky.My set also came with scratches and chips in the metal bezel. You would think Samsung paid a little more attention and quality to this model line. The JU7500 is considered middle to upper model line.C'mon Samsung! Get your act together.

Samsung has the best picture. But just like their phones
January 15, 2017
Power supply went out on the 13th month. Out of warranty. Samsung has the best picture. But just like their phones, the power supply fail within a year. The 2014-2016 models have the cheap power supply. Keep that in mind when considering Samsung.
Do not bu Susung TV ... not reliable and dependable
December 31, 2016
I bought this TV last April from Amazon, it was working fine last 8 to 9 months, but it does not turn on now, still under warranty call Sumsaug they want me to unplug and wait for 5 hours, then call back again, then they will send a thrid party service company to look at the TV, which can take few days. I had a 60" sumsung that lasted almost 2 years then it shuts off every 15 to 20 min, called Sumsung sent someone, since it was out of warranty, it would cost 400 to repair, so I want and bought this TV in April now this one is also dead. I will never buy Sumsung TV again, they are not relaible at all
Otherwise TV is very good.
April 29, 2016
When arrived the TV was well packaged in two boxes and had no sign of any damage, but when opened I found about 100 - 120 mm crack in the rear plastic panel of the TV. Otherwise TV is very good.
Screen goes black
March 8, 2016
Had this tv for about 3 months and it is now randomly cutting off/ screen going completely black. If I could do this again I would just go buy a tv from Best Buy that is under warranty.
Watch Sports? Don't buy this TV, 60 HERTZ, this TV is 60 Hertz
February 2, 2016
If you watch sports do not buy this TV. Yes I ready all about changing the settings, which I did and made the picture better, but nothing can make up for the 60 hertz of power for watch fast action scenes or sports. I have been a Samsung Plasma fan since they first came out, I live near sea level so I don't get the buzzing noise and get to enjoy 600hrz of motion free blur and never wanted to go the LED route, well since plasma's are out, (more expensive to manufacture and too many returns due to buzzing)...I had to go with the LED, but this TV is horrible, the first day we setup was a Sunday Night football, my wife and I literally could not watch we got so dizzy from the picture. Turned the motion flow off and it got a little better but it was HORRIBLE> I gave the TV a month before I caved watching Russell Wilson in the NFC playoffs throw a ball and watch the TV sputter as he threw the ball, anything less than a 6500 is junk, people said this one was okay but it is not. I bought the Sony for a couple hundred bucks more on Amazon and it is AWESOME!!!!! The Sony I bought is the 120 hertz, anything less than that is not worth it, I bought the 830C and I am very happy!!!

Really Crappy product. Failed completely! They first agreed to buy back since they could not replace the LED Screen
cheap tv
September 17, 2017
1 month after the warranty expired the screen started blinking then went black but the volume would stay on. After turning it off and back on it would come back on for a few minutes then go black again. After talking to Samsung they told me It was out of warranty. A BIG waste of money.
Poor service from Samsung
February 22, 2016
We bought two, both have issues. With one, there is no sound, just a popping noise, and a 48 hour window when the thing wouldn't power on at all. We've placed four support calls with Samsung and they keep promising to send a technician out but they keep canceling the order, leaving us hanging. Today's conversation didn't go much better - they said that they'd send a technician out, but noted that if they can't figure out what the problem is, I'd receive a bill for the support call and they'd void the TV's warranty. I noted that this is an intermittent issue and wondered what would happen if the technician doesn't see the issue. They supposed that us showing the tech the video might be enough, but if not, we'd still get our warranty voided and sent a bill for the service call. While overall they seem to be great TVs, the fact that Samsung is being very difficult to work with us makes us think that we don't want to do business with them any longer.
I'm using the Directv RVU feature but it doesn't live ...
January 31, 2016
I'm using the Directv RVU feature but it doesn't live up to expectations, it is slow, probably 30-45 seconds to stabilize to a station and it has had intermittent problems where RVU does not connect. Yes I save $10 a month not having a receiver next to the TV but this feature still has flaws. Most of the time when I call Samsung tech support I can't understand the person on the other end of the call because English is not their first language. Also, Lakes Electronics who does their service is hard to contact. They replaced main board twice, worked normally for 2 1/2 weeks and then started cycling off and back on intermittently. Volume control work only intermittently. My wife not thinks I'm a fool for buy this TV. I wish I could get my money back.
Cannot recommend this TV due to reliability
January 19, 2016
I'm quite disappointed in this set. You certainly don't get a quality product that you would expect for a TV of this price range. The picture quality is nice. The One Connect Mini is a nice feature. It is a small box that connects to the TV using a single proprietary cable that comes with the set. Once I hung the TV up and routed the cable through the walls, I could just have the One Connect hidden away in my cabinet with my other devices so they are out of sight. I could expand on it by adding new connections without worrying about adding additional cables I would have otherwise needed to route through the walls. However, I have two major issues with the TV. First, the audio cuts out every so often. Second, with less frequency than the audio cutting out, the TV randomly reboots itself. This is most annoying when you're watching during the climax of a movie then the TV reboots (and it takes several seconds to reboot).I don't see more people complaining about it so I can't help but wonder if it is related to the One Connect. You can connect directly to the TV using your HDMI or you can choose to connect via the One Connect Mini. So I wonder if most people are connecting directly. Googling for "samsung one connect issues" returns results. Unfortunately for me, I'll have to get new longer HDMI cables and toslink cables but, more importantly, I'll have to route those through the walls again (a real pain to do). Also, due to the random nature of both of these problems, it is unclear to me if, after all of this work, it will actually resolve the issues.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY OTHER SAMSUNG TV. Most electronics unreliable product I have ever owned.
December 30, 2015
UPDATE AFTER 11 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP:This TV is now going on its fourth panel. The initial panel broke as suggested in my first review. The second panel lasted roughly three months. The last panel has lasted roughly six months and now is presenting the same flickering in the upper half of the screen, mostly from the backlight, as the other two panels have. Samsung previously was at least somewhat efficient in getting a technician out to repair it, but I feel that the company is avoiding me this time as they have made me sit on the phone for over one hour and thirty minutes over the last three days, demanding a bill of sale as if this wasn't verified the last two times which the same issue occurred. At this point, I feel that I may need to get an attorney involved solely on principle even if it costs me more money than the TV is worth due to the fact that I feel that I have been outright scammed. Samsung refuses to stand behind their clearly faulty and defective product and is more or less hoping that I give up on getting it repaired under warranty. Six phone calls repeating the same questions that I have already answered for the last two times which the same issue occurred should not be necessary over a three day span, let alone the fact that their product is visibly defective. While I am helpless in the fact that I have wasted a couple thousand dollars on a product that is clearly faulty, I can at a minimum post this review to help advise users to shop ANY OTHER MAJOR TV BRAND. Do yourself the favor and avoid Samsung like you'd avoid a vintage Jaguar - they're wired about the same I think.I have attached the video to show the clear problems which are occurring with the television for the 3rd time (going on the 4th panel).ORIGINAL REVIEW: Received this television roughly a month ago. Picture is good, looks impressive, functions fine. Within 30 days of purchase, backlight begins stroboscopic flickering to the point where the TV is sometimes un-watchable. Called Samsung warranty service where they tied up over 30 minutes of my time and then told me a local service center would reach out to me to try to get it fixed. The local service center has no appointments for over a week. The TV is fine, but I've literally never had a consumer electronics device in this price range fail so quickly and with such inefficient service on the back end to back it up. I'd consider shopping the other more prestigious brands if I could go back and vote with my wallet again.

A great TEMPORARY TV.
August 19, 2017
Was great for a year but that's all. When I bought this TV it came with a 1 year warranty. Guess how long it took for the TV to break? A year and 1 day. It's almost like it was planned. My Samsung TV developed a vertical bright purple line straight down the center of it. No explanation as to why and I can't get it to go away no matter what I try. I even called Samsung support and went through all their troubleshooting and we still couldn't fix it. It's really frustrating to watch anything on this TV because it's like the picture is split in half. Really wish the warranty lasted longer. It's ridiculous that a product this expensive can't even last 1 year. Will not be buying a Samsung TV again. Buy at your own risk of this happening to you.
BEWARE OF LEMONS
May 20, 2017
After owning this for twenty months, the TV went dark. It worked fine in the morning, and then would not turn on in the afternoon. Called Samsung and they said to call Best Buy for a Technician to come out and take a look at it. Do we want to pay two hundred dollars to find out what's wrong with a lemon? The TV was above the mantle so neither our grandkids or anyone else for that matter ever touched it. We've owned several TVs over the years and have never had a problem with any of them. We would update them when they got to be too old. This product was a disappointment to say the least. Will not buy a Samsung again. Our twelve years old TOSHIBA still has a great picture and have never had a problem with it!
No 4K using Roku. Wasted money!
December 29, 2016
Spent extra money to to get a 4K TV. HDMI's are 2.0 and do NOT support Roku which requires 2.2. It feels like my pocket was picked.
Shame on you SAMSUNG!
November 8, 2016
Tv worked great for a few months then stopped working. SAmsung customer service was no help. $1000 for a tv that worked for less than a year. Never again will I buy a Samsung product. Tvs stop working, washing machines and cell phones are exploding. What's next?
Did not work out of the box, TV would ...
April 19, 2016
Did not work out of the box, TV would turn on and there would be sound but no picture. Had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Samsung tech support for them to just schedule an appointment with a technician to simply contact me about fixing it (which took 2 days). Overall it was an expensive mirror for the first week and a half of owning it.
